No-frills Jamaican restaurant with a laid-back vibe serving up jerk chicken, curries & roti.
I only get the fried chicken meal from here. It’s just my favourite dish. The fried chicken is always delicious. Rice is good, coleslaw is fresh and not super sweet. Quick and kind service!
Best Jamaican food in the city!! Flavours incredible, Jerk chicken well marinated and flavourful, Fried chicken in the box managed to stay crispy as hell, Patties are soft and flaky. Not salty, not dry, and not greasy either. Huge portions, prices are really reasonable.
After having read some good reviews of this place, I stopped by for dinner today. I went for the medium jerk chicken meal with peas and rice. The food did not disappoint, it was flavorful and generous in portion size. It's a take out place so I wasn't expecting a restaurant ambience. I sat and ate there relishing each bite as I watched folks and traffic passing along Bloor Street. What impressed me the most was the customer service of the lady who served me. Soft spoken, approachable and polite. When I asked her for a small serving of the curried chickpeas to taste, she added a big ladelful to my box at no extra cost. I wasn't expecting that and was pleasantly surprised. The curried chickpeas were good and served me as a palate freshener between mouthfuls of my jerk chicken meal. The reviews were right about the friendly and great customer service by the ladies. I give them 5 stars for that. Will I eat there again. O yes.
Food was amazing and flavorful, there are a lot of different options, jerk chicken with spicy sauce was great, barbecue chicken as well. No spicy options are offered but they are not as interesting. Enjoyed it very much. The place itself is not nice to eat in, but for a takeout it is an amazing option. Thank you 🙏🏻
This place Is King of the Jerk Chicken indeed. I had a Jerk Chicken Medium meal which felt like a large or extra large in a usual carribbean restaurant. The Chicken was super tender and the spicy Jerk sauce was Savory and not too spicy. The women taking orders and preparing the plate were wonderful and kind. Best thing is that this place is open until 4AM everyday, making it the perfect late night meal. I'll be back to try more food.
Amazing jerk chicken!! Portions are really generous and food is really tasty. Love that they’re open late, and workers are really kind & efficient. (photo: medium sized jerk chicken with spicy gravy)
This is a chain restaurant and I always go to the Spadina and College location, I thought this location would have similar quality food but I was so wrong. The service was good since the kid worked there was nice, but the bean and rice were half cooked as in every single bite, there will be a few grains of uncooked rice; the BBQ chicken were burnt as in 90% of the skin were chard black and bitter. I never waste food but this is the first restaurant I went to that I can’t finish it due to how bad the food is and have to throw the leftover away see in the picture. I even asked the guy eating his food beside me if he feels the same way and he agreed. If you want to try Jerk King franchise, just walk to Dufferin mall 3 mins away or hop on the subway and go to the Spadina location. If you have to eat at Dufferin Station, there are tons of other restaurants near by, don’t waste your money here. Don’t know how they’ve survived this far.
Both the spicy jerk chicken and stew chicken were fantastic and full of flavour. The stew chicken was fall off the bone tender. Got a small size of each and the food was packed in. The leftover rice soaked in the meat sauce tastes just as good later in the day.
Food is good
This is my go-to spot for jerk chicken. It serves the best jerk chicken Ive tried out of numerous places. The flavor is incredible, and the coleslaw is really sweet, which helps balance the spice perfectly
I love the food here but have to give this one star because they refuse to let me use my own take out container. The world is drowning in plastic and I bring my own containers to try to reduce the impact but this place wont let me use them.
To much salt! Food Salty Parking: No parking, park on street Food : 2/5 |
Wow the food was amazing!! Great staff & atmosphere!! Would come back here
This place used to be way better. Every time I go back it seems to get worse, but I think last night will be the last. The meal sucked and I think the slaw was out of date but also felt ill the next day from it.
Jerk king chicken sandwich brought me back to life. Don t be fooled by this unassuming front of this place, it s clean and the chicken is excellent, juicy and flavourful. 11/10
Food shelllllll
If I could give them zero stars I would. I ordered 5 days in advance for a 3 year old birthday party. I wanted to order a large quantity of chicken worth $200 and 1 hour before the party, they canceled my order!!! I tried calling them multiple times but no one answered the phone. What kind of business is this?
Service was great it s just that the jerk chicken wasn t really good it was ok at best I couldn t even call it jerk chicken because the way it looked and tasted. It s a chill place, rice and peas was fire. Coleslaw was great
Probably the worst Jamaican food and jerk I ve ever had not even sunrise cooks this bad . Please make the a Jamaican grandmother off the boat help u guys please
Why the F do you have a number listed when you dont pick up.
Its good but they should make it halal
I ordered goat curry roti and it was very salty
Great food and quick service .
Cool
I ordered Uber eats from this restaurant and the food was bad the roti filled with big a** potato and hardly any goat meat and A LOT OF CHIC. Peas . I put a note that said Absolutely no gravy and they decided to put extra gravy and mad the food worst then it already was
If you want roti dont come here, it wasnt dalpouri, paratha or buss up shot. The curry was ok but roti wasnt roti, the service though was nice, unfortunately the employees wouldnt know. Jerk king should hire people who know the food well and proper. Now I know why there are 3 caribbean spots walking distance from eachother
Really good jerk chicken with a unique almost sweet flavour. The patties and rice and peas are decent. The coleslaw is amazing!
Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a space for wheel chair accessibility Food
Freshly Made.
The patty was days old . They had to discuss if they were going to get a refund even though the shell was Rock hard and I broke open the patty to show the meat was so old and shriveled stuck to one side gross. The rest of food looked old and reheated as well, didn t eat a bite after the patty. I ordered because it was recommended by my airbnb host and I was extremely hungry after traveling with delays. As soon as I walked in, I knew I should ve walked out, but that s how delusional I was being hungry. I m SHOCKED at the good reviews. This is a mockery of Caribbean food
Decent meals and large portions - I ve been going for years and think they changed ownership. I d still recommend it for fast food Jamaican cuisine.
A go-to spot for me. Big portions of meat, always tastes great, and good price compared to most take out.
The food is nasty and not even authentic Jamaican food. Waste of money. Wouldn t feed this to a dog, that s how bad it is.
Meat always good but rice isn t always as fresh as it should be. Good cheap option if your in the area
Terrible service, increase prices for less food. The woman who works week days, around 12 to 7, served less fodd. On Tuesday July 09, I ordered large jerk chicken, and she just served 4 small chicken pieces, but there were customers before ordering small jerk chicken plate and they got 3 big pieces just because they were friends. Also same staff person I saw last week she was giving away drinks no charging for that. Last week I ordered medium jerk chicken and same woman just put 3 small chicken pieces. Is not the first time I noticed they serve less food, but prices increase. Is better find a new place for food.
Charged me 2.50 for a regular nestle water & didnt gave the water with the food bunvh of idiots work here
5 stars!!
I got the curry goat toady and it was 80%Bone! 10% Chewey Tendents and 10%Goat meat. 2 roti shells and a large slaw for 30$ I wont be comeing back and I suggest they sell meat , its a rip-off we cant chew BONES! Food
Great food and great portions.
Too expensive. They pick and choose the meat they want to give to you.
Jerk King has the best Jamaican Patty I have ever had in my life. I have yet to try the other dishes here, but if the patty is any indication, the food is surely some of the best Jamaican food in the city. The patty is flaky, buttery, and soft. Its filling is flavourful, the meat is tender and juicy and brings the whole thing together with just the right amount of spice. The service is wonderful and I had a great experience talking to the woman behind the counter, she even served me the fresh batch of patties late at night alongside a fun conversation. I definitely recommend coming here, but there is limited seating as it is more of a takeout experience.
Soooooo good! The food was so good and the portions were lovely. Would definitely go again and also warmly recommend this place for anyone craving some goat curry/chicken, plantain or jerk chicken!
They love to cancel Uber orders when the store is open, it s annoying cause they let you wait for 20 mins and then they cancel. Not right.
I came here last night, May 04, 2024, for a late night bite. Ive ordered the goat with rice and peas and it was really good. It was nice, fresh, and it hit the spot.
Amazing service and incredible food!
The jerk chicken and fried chicken was ok and very expensive for a size small. My typical spot for jerk chicken is by oakwood and eglinton area or near Jane and Lawrence. Paid parking on the street
Best jerk chicken in town. This place is an institution in this neighborhood, opens early, and closes late. Everything is freshly made and always available.
Not greatest but pretty you won t be disappointed
Food is only good after night out. Because if you looking for some authenticity and actual good food look else where. this is not it. Also make sure you spell your order otherwise you will get over charged not going to risk it again. Good luck! Ps all my friends in the neighborhood have always scoffed when I said I was going to Jerk king . What a joke !
Friday March 1, 2024 @ 11pm. I ordered a large BBQ chicken plate. Turns out they were laxatives. So unprofessional. I don t even write reviews!!
Hey man, this is my absolute favourite west Indian spot in the entire GTA. I live 40 min away from here and still do the drive if i m craving Jerk King. I ve been coming here for about 3 years now and I ve yet to have a bad experience. First off, their portions are absolutely fair. So many places in the city charge you $20 for a plate of mostly rice and one chicken leg. I ve never had a complain about the amount of chicken they give you per order. Absolute bang for your buck. Secondly, their jerk chicken is soft and rich in flavour, not to mention the size of the thighs are excellent - even for small orders. But one of the most important reasons why I love this place so much is their operating hours. It s so rare to find real cooked food after hours. Most times, it s only fast food. I love how I can get a warm plate of rice and chicken at 2am and not have to settle for a mcdonalds. To the owners, keep doing what you re doing. Don t skimp on the portions like these other west indian restaurants do. 10/10 you guys never let me down.
Got the fried chicken, jerk chicken and jerk chicken roti. Fried chicken was my favorite it was super crispy and juicy roti was absolutely fire too. Jerk chicken was good but could use more char and personally could be more spicy. But really good food here
Value for money - big flavour, big portions
Horrible food! Avoid going here they sell 1 chicken thigh for $20
Very generous portion
you ganna get great foods and a great staff smile when you go here
I loooove Caribbean food. And more this location in Toronto Bloor intersection Dufferin. Is cleaning smell yummy yummy food Food : 5/5
Best jerk in the city! My go to is the boneless jerk chicken and rice. Delicious.
Wish it had more sitting area
The food was delicious
For the price it cant be beat!
Do not order from order pickup linked with google maps. I placed an order and got to the shop but was denied of my order. The merchant was rude and claimed they were not aware of this way of ordering and refused to refund or give me the food. They kept saying they only took uber eats order. Also kept asking if I was picking up for someone else when I answered multiple times. They were also subtly racist, since the app linked with google maps pick up (hungry panda) is Chinese.
Jerk King is my go to post graveyard shift. Hot and fresh fried chicken and jerk with curry goat gravy pon di rice and peas, lawd beef patties are top tier as well
Food is decent but the attitude from the employees made it not worth.
I have been ordering food from this restaurant for a while now and I must say, the food is delicious. The service is prompt and the delivery personnel are always courteous. Try the oxtail or the jerk chicken. Those are my favorite but the entire menu is simple delicious. Give them a try.
Amazing food
I ordered on Skip the Dishes, and the food is an absolute rip off, trash, and the service is horrible. What kind of a sadist puts bones in a roti? $17 for a goat roti and I maybe had half an ounze of meat I had to tear of the sharpest bones, you would think a protolithic man was trying to fashion hunting tools and stuffed them into a leathery roti with some uncooked chickpeas. I asked for a Mango juice, and I got Mango Carrot, which had I not looked at the label, would have sent me to the hospital since I m allergic to raw carrot. The beef patty is dryer than the tires on the Mars rover. And the Banana cake comes with leopard spots that may or may not be related to a fungal species first cultivated by the guy who was making the spearheads I found in the roti. Don t waste your money folks. If they don t take pride in what they do, don t let them take your hard earned money.
Genuine hole in the wall thats just fantastic food in a dive. Best value, nutrition, and taste for their veggie dinner. Under 10$ meal.
No service provided the hours showed they closed at 4am. I came at 2:30 and they refused my order. If they cant handle the work then close down.
A place to grab food late at night/ early in the morning for others , and its always freshly cooked for the last 10+ yrs . - quick service - sweeet selection of food to create your dish ( jerk chickens from this location by far the best in Toronto ) - pleasant customer service - price has gone up considerably in the last few years $$$$ average for a large jerk chicken meal with a can of pop will cost you just shy of $19.00 - No dine in options only takeout. ( updated Dec-25-22)
Great service & food. Hours are awesome as well
Pleasantly surprised by this spot! Jerk chicken taste authentic. Very flavorful and juicy. Rice and beans was cooked perfectly. Will come back! Ladies very friendly
I had it once and was blown away!
Over priced but filling . Opens late . Clean staff . Boneless jerk chicken is the best .
The worst Caribbean food I ve ever tasted. I ordered a Curried Goat and Rice for take out. What I got was 6 pieces of goat bone with a tiny bit of meat and gristle. The white rice was clumpy and tasteless. All this for just under $18.00
There food is so good. Huge portions. Nice presentation. Reasonable prices. Never any issues! Good job team!
One of theeee best Caribbean cuisine!!! It used to be owned and cooked everyday by lots of Jamaicans but now theres Asian ppl that own and operate the store, which is sad because I thought it was authentic other than that very good tasty food. The prices are a bit expensive now. Vegetarian options: Theres potato curry and chickpea curry. Wheelchair accessibility: Not ideal for those with wheelchair accessibility unfortunately. ad theres no convenient parking.
Open until midnight Good tasty and big portion Recommended dishes
How can you have a phone number that no one answer kmft
They gave us barely any oxtail , and the oxtail was 20 dollars. The pieces of oxtail we got were all bone, so it was like we basically got no oxtail. Essentially I paid 20 dollars for rice, when rice isn t even worth that price.
Good service and good food
Staff are wonderful, I just found the spicy jerk sauce to be much less spicy than it usually is.
All good just a lil to pricey
Really love it!
Absolutely delish fried chicken, just like my momma used to make
This place is good, for around 10$ you can get enough food to satisfy you.jerk chicken is always good with that delicious bbq jerk sauce and the fried chicken is good too.I usually ask for half jerk half fried in my combo. Only problem here is no parking, have to park in green p on a side street a walk a few minutes to the store, but I dont mind because its good food.
This place is convenient but a hit or miss. A mom and pops type of shop. With some good jerk chicken when it s fresh and when it s not well they derive it anyways. I don t really order food here for the chicken, it s for the plantain which is always good. Except for the last time which was burnt and hard. Dissatisfied.
Good portion for entrees and quite tasty but they do not come with coleslaw, you have to order it on the side, hence 4 stars.
This used to be a great spot to get food but the service has consistently diminished. These are three of the most miserable women youll encounter in the service industry. Particularly the short hair asian women is terrible. Message to management: If you dont like people, get out of this business. You and your staff are rude and impatient. Youve had up to 5 customers beckoning to you for service while all of you convene in the back and resurface without an apology and annoyance after keeping THEM waiting. I have had one blatantly ignore me after I asked about the plate being put together for me. I hadnt been there in months and went back last night only to be greeted by the same lack of professionalism. Youre in a prime location and have a horrible attitude. With any luck your customer loyalty will erode and a more deserving establishment will emerge. Disappointing
I bought jerk chicken & BBQ mixed with spicy sauce after my work. So Yummy! Service was quick & the two staffs are super friendly. They generously gave me enough portion of the rice I asked for. will drop in again by this Friday after work.
I was hungry and dropped in at this jerk spot today. And I got to enjoy my lunch meal with just $10. Great portion. Spicy jerk chicken meal with coleslaw is the boom. Carribean restaurant owned by Asian but they are great. Service was super quick. Appreciate for the efficiency of the girl who took my order today.
The boneless jerk chicken is phenomenal. With some oxtail gravy. The coleslaw is just perfect and 2 festival. Greatest order ever!!!!
The oxtail is extremely good but dont sleep in their desserts. Not where you expect to get there best flan in the neighbourhood, but here we are. Also the only coleslaw I actually enjoy. Kid-friendliness: I had my six month old daughter with me and they were thrilled to meet her. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps, just doors.
Their famous dish is the curry bone and rice. U get white rice and curry sauce all bone but no goat. all for a price of 18 bucks. Never again.
Incredibly good food I recommend it
I asked for a large boneless jerk chicken to go, but I got curry chicken instead. When I arrived at home and realized, I called to ask for the jerk chicken, the person who answered the phone wanted nothing to do with me, nor was I offered any way to remedy the situation. The food here is fine, but dont expect anything special in the way of service. Update: I called again and my number was blocked. Lol
Price and size plus unbelievable jerk chicken or ox tail ... its a no brainer! Thank you for feeding me when I was poor ;-) Food
Jerk king is the best food in the planet
Best value for money meal for 10 bucks!
You need a good bite? Late night, or really any time of day. Youll leave happy... My preference is any of their Roti. Folks adore it all... Check the menu for goodness!
Fast food with a home made food taste , some times a bit over crowd.
oxtail to the top
Can t lie, I found a hair in my rice and peas on the second bite into my small jerk chicken meal. Gross still
Always a good take away meal..
This place has given me food poisoning, it is quite dirty and the chicken sits out for extended times. Avoid this spot if you do not want to get sick.
Favorite jerk spot in toronto by far !!! amazing food and the service is always humble. thank you
The food here is always great. It reminds me alot of the Caribbean and I really appreciate how consistent the food is in terms of taste. The atmosphere is not one where you would want to sit and dine but more so to grab and go. Will always keep going back! BTW, their buns are so good - like, I tried eating their buns with some oxtail gravy or the jerk gravy and its so delicious.
Love their food
Tastes like someone saw a picture of Jamaican food once and decided to give it a shot based on that memory. Rice and Peas taste like the peas came on as an afterthought, food presentation is with the little oxtail that is there being completely buried unde the rice, the salt - I mean sauce is just poorly made, the oxtail itself has an almost impossible amount of flavour lacking.
Their food was delicious and tasty. They also have a good selection of side orders and variety of drinks. I would go there again
I decided to try the food, but I was not impressed with the taste. I ordered a jerk chicken, and it definitely did not taste nothing like jerk. The portion size was good, compared to other Caribbean restaurants!
As a plant based eater I choose the veggie plate. It comes with rice n Peas, potato, curry chic peas, plantain and dumpling. I highly recommend it if you want affordable and flavourful! Vegetarian options: The chickpea and the potato with rice and peas are addictive
Great service here, and Great food. A standard an extremely popular place to get a quick and easy bite to eat.
Have eaten here many times before. Today, the Jerk Chicken was not very good. The rice and coleslaw were tasty. The chicken was plain and flavorless. The spices have not been allowed to soak into the chicken long enough before cooking it. Or they have decided to put less spice so only the skin has the flavor. Plus I paid by credit card and it cost me .25 cents. Lucky my Neo credit card gave me .41 cents cash back. I no longer recommend Jerk Chicken due to tasteless Jerk chicken. I have a feeling the ownership has changed. Too bad, now I will have to go to Scarborough for good Jerk chicken .
Jerk on point
The first time I went there I was not treated well. I felt rushed and the server was very rude and was yelling at me. I had never been there before, so I was confused who she was talking to. I brushed it off and figured she was having a bad day. The food was good though. The second time I went, different server, but she tried to serve me a broken piece of fried chicken as a full piece. I told her I saw the piece fall off. I ordered the curry chicken instead. Then they opened in the Dufferin Mall. The first lady that was serving me so sweet. Then this other server rushes from the back of the store, dumps my food, and says something to the first lady, totally embarrassing her. Then tries to find the tiniest pieces of chicken to serve and got my order wrong. I told her to forget it, Ill just go somewhere else. After those 3 experiences, I was done. It got so bad that if I was craving Jerk Kings food, I had to get my Filipino or non Caribbean friends to order for me. These incidents happened a few years ago (pre pandemic), but its still bothersome. Its also embarrassing what theyre charging for non authentic, Jamaican food.
Poor service
Love love the roti Vegetarian options: Love it Food : 5/5 |
Chicken is always hot and fresh.
My favorite place to go after a Speaker Slam!
Been coming here for years but something changed a few months ago. The patties are thick dough and horrible now. The jerk chicken used to be sweet now its bitter. They got new owners and changed the recipes and it s not good at all Any more. I tried coming here 3 times a couple weeks apart in the last two months just to rule out a bad day but it s been consistent 3 times in a row. Will not be coming back
The service was good both the girl and the guy vere nice the food was good, potions were good and coleslaw was delicious. Jerk chicken was very soft and lots of flavor how ever it did not have that jerk flavor I was looking for I was really satisfied tho. And oxtail was good too
Great chicken for a great price. Vegetarian options: They have rice and beans and plantains and other options as well Food : 5/5 |
You call this food good ? They pretty much pasted the food with curry powder on cooked food this made me sick immediately after one bite. You should be ashamed of yourself even serving this kind of food the goat was so dry and full of curry powder after the food was cooked gross. This food makes people sick and you should not have even got your food license. Do not buy if you want to live.
Food here is good customer service is not the greatest. The girl isnt payment attention to her customers by serving people that came in after me and random customers causing a kaos in the restaurant we were waiting for 20 mins to be served due to alot if customers and not much of a seating area!
I was at this location to pick up an 2 separate orders (jerk chicken rice and peas) and just rice and peas, that I ve ordered earlier in the evening through Uber Eats. When I arrived, there was only 2 people in-front of me, so it wasn t busy at all. When my turn came, I ve shown the female server the order number on my phone. She then told the cook behind her to give me my order. The cook then looks at me and gave me the other order slip and aggressively told me to signed my name on the slip. So I did and gave it back to him and he gave me the bag with my order inside, and I went out. I was a little upset but I quickly got over it, and quickly went home since it was still raining out. The food was ok, not good but not bad either. The experience there was nothing to ride home about, probably the change in ownership was the reason there were different people working there. Would I go back there or order my food from that location? No, there are other better Caribbean restaurants and takeouts out there that I would go to if I want a truly authentic Jamaican meal
Been coming here for years. Ownership changed, they seem to have franchised, and the new recipes have gone absolutely downhill. If you re thinking of getting their new Pattie s (old used to be AZING), just save your money and eat an orange brick - it ll be tastier, I promise. Slaw used to be great and now it s gross, watery, and never fresh. On top of all this they raised prices and made portions much smaller.
Terrible. Not jerk but bbq chicken. Patty was dry and like mush
This was my favourite spot for years, but over the past few months there has been a noticeable dip in quality (quantity?) - The new staff are kind and work well, but they don t serve you the portions I m used to getting, which was loaded with gravy and chickpea stew so that the boxes are nearly overflowing. Nothing beats that!! I would try to take a peek to see if the older (sorry) staff are working. Update Aug2023: It s worth saying this again - new staff don t give you the amount they should! Either ask for more (should be nearly overflowing) or say you don t want it. This was a large for $19 and I was still hungry
Bomb taste
Simply the Best! The food never disappoints and served with a friendly neighbourhood smile.
Honestly the location is not super tiny, tight and inconveniently located but they have the best jerk chicken I ve had since the pandemic which brought the quality, portions and service down! Happy to have found this spot. Definitely worth the drive!
Great food and portions! Very affordable, and lovely and warm service :)
The chicken meals as well as the snacks like the dumplings and patties are amazing
Soooooooo good! Loved it. The woman who served us was kinda funny. Love their gravy!!!!! Defo going back and back
Great Curry Chicken! Great taste, smell and service, a bit on the pricey side though- but I will return.
Tried the goat roti and jerk chicken sandwich. Goat Roti - The taste of the meat was good. Too many potatoes and goat pieces were more bone less meat. Jerk Chicken Sandwich - delicious and filling. Gave 3 stars for the atmosphere as its a really small place with only 4 chairs for dining. Overall Rating - 4 stars as flavors were pretty much on point.
The food use to be so good and there s only certain days the food is good with certain workers I will update and ask for names. But also they moved Aunty Philis she had the best customer service and always made everyone smile! There are some other honourable mentions but I need to learn there name. My only issue and it s more recent the food has gotten even worst lately since a lot of change with the staff I don t know who cooking but the Plaintain is never ripe so when fried it tastes terrible and it s not sweet complete waste of money, and their beef Pattie s some days they re proper and flaky other days it s hard plain tuff dough with weird seasonings in the beef it just tastes terrible. They need to bring some more if not Caribbean cookers then people who have experience making food period. For their prices the taste should be better.
Very small meat and There are feathers on the meats.
FIRE! Great portion and taste. I got the jerk chicken with oxtail sauce. I added plantain (nice big pieces) and a dumpling (big one, a hint of sweetness which I loved). Coleslaw is delish too.
Food is pretty good but pricey. The taste is pretty good compared to most jerk places
Dont know about the other items but their jerk chicken is fantastic! Even when it cools down it still somehow manages to stay tender and moist. 5 stars for the Jerk Chicken. Also 5 stars for their Coleslaw which is worth the extra $2.
Quality Jamaican food is a bit pricey. Overall, it was well worthwhile it. They will serve you a good amount of portions.
Love this place best late night food staff is so fun
Amazing food! Highly recommended.
Food is pretty good but on salty side. We usually order oxtail. Theres only 3 seats so not a place for eating in. Friendly staff.
Quick and great late night food. Has been my favourite since I went to post-secondary. Quick service, decent portions
ordered online. this place is great. roti. rice. curry goat. jerk chicken. the spice. all wonderful. great taste. portions are on point. the small jerk meal fed me last night and today. for 11 quid. yes please. and the slaw is perfect. Im hooked. keep it up yall. this is comforting soul food.
Servers were very nice, I got the jerk chicken dinner, I ordered spicy but it wasnt, it was kind of sweet tasting gravy, I didnt enjoy the food at all. I would not go back to this place, I have tried some better ones.
Oh my, i can t even start speaking about this location. 10/10 for customer service, 10/10 for portions and taste. So good and affordable, run don t walk
Tasty food, great service and affordable
This is more of a pick up and go place than a dine in. Their food tastes great! I just wish theyd not use Styrofoam containers but something more environmentally sustainable.
Used to come here after school before the mosh up Bloor collegiate institute.
Good beef patties, and the caramel flan is delicious.
I buy jerk chicken at least once a week from this place. But it s literally a win or lose. Sometimes it s fresh and tasty. Sometimes it s all saggy, hard to chew and tasteless, like today. I don t know what day or time I should go there so I can get the fresh food instead of trash.
Late night spot! Quick service and great portions.
Great tasting food and great value for money. By far the best Caribbean food dishes in Toronto.
Best Jamaican food in Town!
Spicy Jerk Chicken with extra Gravy is my go to! Credit Cards has a $0.25 cent fee now!
I go to the location near Dufferin station, it is a pickup only place. The girl who takes and prepares your order is very friendly and polite. There are several Jamaican jerf chicken places in the city but honestly, nothing is as nearly as good as Jerk King, this is the juiciest, tastiest jerk chicken you will ever taste. The race and beans is delicious too and not to mentheir coleslaw!!! Fresh, tasty, perfect. Regarding size choices, I recommend to go for the large one, its the best value for your money, if its for two people one large and one small would be fine.
Sensational!
Ive been a customer of this store for over 2 years. The lady with the mask was literally picking her nose while adjusting the mask. When asked if she could wash her hands, she ignored me completely. Upon asking again, she said shes busy doing other orders and told me to leave the store and never come back if I am not happy with the service. In the service industry, you tend to get feedback from people. If you cant take it, then maybe this isnt the right job for you. Just by asking someone not to come back is not going to solve the issue. Very rude.
Staff is friendly and theres always a lineup outside. Patties are the best I tried in the area. Strongly recommended
I have been a customer for almost decade at this Bloor and Dufferin location. A few dishes are almost similar to some of the south East Asian cuisine especially curry goat, curry chicken and roti. Rice and peas is so flavourful and delicious that I order with Jerk chicken together. Their spicy jerk sauce is out of this world. I can t get enough of their fresh and tasty homemade coleslaw with my meal every time I order from them. Patty is a must try for midnight snack. Sad to know some of my fav items prices have been increased lately. Some staff there are very friendly, patient and polite. Service is very fast during their busiest hours. I saw them the way they handle and serve the customers is very clean, wearing gloves when they make my roti and other orders. Too bad that they don t have space for dine in anymore. It s only for fast take out spot.
Had to run a few errands in the area and decided try the jerk chicken here. This meal was very filling and had a large portion enough for 2. We were given three pieces of chicken that were cooked very well and seasoned generously. It was very flavourful and savoury. The spicy sauce was a great addition to the meal. The beans were a little bit on the more soggier side which many people may or may not prefer. The coleslaw was also really good, but not enough for the meal, so I d recommend to purchase extra. It s wonderful that the place is open till 4 am which is great if anyone is craving a midnight meal. Will definitely have again if I m in the area. Overall I d give this place an 8.4/10.
Jerk chicken rice was great. Service was fast and good. No seating inside. It s also open until 4am.
