Possibly the best Italian place in town.

Have a Plan B ready!!! I initially reached out through email, and the communication right off the bat was not great. It was hit and miss...having to reach out several times for a response. When we did connect through email, we discussed my event, a baby shower for my daughter and was told they serviced my area. He said we should discuss further through a phone call. After two emails to him to set up a phone conversation, he told me my email was missed, and a time and day was set up for the call. During this call, I reiterated all my details and he told me they had an event that day, but he could accommodate us with two employees, we confirmed the menu and I felt comfortable. This was with just over 1 month to the shower. With one week to go, I reached out on the Thursday with a couple of questions, as there had been no communication for at least 1 month. I sent three emails on the Thursday, left three phone messages on the Friday, left one Instagram message on the Saturday...one week before our event...no response to ANY of my communication attempts...panic! It was certainly not a comfortable feeling, knowing I have 45-50 people coming to my event and no food to serve, not very considerate of a customers situation. On the Monday, five days before my event, I sent an email to cancel their service, within 7 minutes there was a response...cancellation confirmed...why was there no response to any of my earlier communication attempts? It was a horrible feeling being left with less than a week to our event...and no food to serve my guests...Cucina Mauro dropped the ball BIG time. Use them cautiously, as per other reviews, food sounds good...if you can get it. Communication and overall service is very undependable.

These guys do the best Italian sandwiches in the entire city ! We drive all the way down from uptown to come see them. Service is always warm and fantastic. Can t say enough about the food quality here. Tasty, fresh and authentic. See you guys soon.

We hired Mauro to cook us a fabulous dinner for eight of our close friends. He was professional , pleasant to talk to and the food was so delicious. It was presented in an elegant manner . His assistant Olga was amazing , she helped serve the wonderful food, greet my friends , cleaned up , she made my night so relaxing I would recommend Mauro and his team any time . I ve been in contact with Mauro since December 2023, in hopes to have my summer wedding catered. Eventually, in February, I finally got a quote from him for approximately $13,000. He offered to host us in his restaurant for a tasting. Of course, with it being a huge investment for ONE DAY, I said yes! When we arrived, they had no space for us in the restaurant and seated us in the back cold room. We waited several minutes to have the first appetizer come out. When we asked to try the other 4 appetizers that would be served at our wedding, Mauro said that if we wanted to try everything we d have to pay. We told him that paying for the tasting was not the problem, but that we wanted to try the different food options that we d be serving at our wedding. He responded this is all I have right now, and if you don t like It you re free to go . Of course we left. We don t want to have this mediocre catering business serving the food at our wedding. Given the experience we had at the tasting, I am positive that our wedding would have been just as bad. As we walked out of the restaurant, Mauro sarcastically said, have a great day! Very disappointing because of all the time wasted. Would not recommend at all.

I ordered catering for an unexpected private gathering from Cucina Mauro. Sara was able to accommodate the order and delivery within the same day. Saras customer service was exceptional and the food was excellent. Special thanks to Chef Mauro and Sara for all their efforts to make this happen. The family who received the meal enjoyed it very much. Going forward, whenever I require catering, I will definitely be reaching out to Cucina Mauro as my go to catering company from now on. Having had everything from lunch to a private party hosted by them, you can can feel and taste the love in this place. We had a small party with some friends, The space was perfect, the food was absolutely fantastic. The servers and hostesses were an absolute delight. Could not be happier. We have monthly firm lunches & January was my month. When I searched for Italian caterers, Cucina Mauro popped up. One look at the website & realizing that they come from Calabria, sealed the deal for me! Sara was amazing in helping me organize the menu. She was patient, sweet & gave all sorts of wonderful suggestions. Mauro personally delivered the food & was right on time. He marvelled at our set-up for lunch & even took some photos! Everything was excellent - delicious & plentiful for anyone to have 2nd helpings. I was asked by 3 colleagues how Id found Cucina Magic & where they were located. In fact, the following Tuesday staff were still commenting on our delicious lunch! If youre looking for an excellent catering experience, go with Cucina Mauro! The food is second only to Mauros welcoming smile. Whether dropping in at the shop, catering for a baby shower or taking a class with the Mrs., the food and service was incredible!

Hit or miss depending on the day as the menu is different each day. Pizza can range from amazing to just so-so depending on who makes it and what cheese they have that day. Parking is difficult at peak hours and so is getting a space to eat now that it has all the hype from Toronto Life. Really nice authentic Italian vibe though. There are days where this is 5+ stars but lack of consistency drops it to a 4 overall.

10/May/2023 Had the Margherita pizza & 3 porchetta sandwiches - the pizza was excellent, the porchetta were tasty but not as moist as the 1st time and less pork. Had gone a previous time in March and the porchettas was dry but the pizza was delicious. 01/Feb/2023 Went to try this place as we were in the vicinity (after seeing a blog). Ordered to go and food was excellent - Margherita pizza, 2 sandwiches porchetta & veal and cannoli for desserts. Place was small but clean and organized. Had to wait a bit for the food and a lot more customers came in as we were waiting. Will definitely go again when in vicinity again.

You know why their delivery is always on time? Its because their drivers cut people off and flip the finger after they get honked. Be careful of who you hire because it is them who represent your company. Just happened today at 10:53am by Dufferin and Eglinton, hope the owner talks to that delivery driver. Cuts me off and almost hit my car, I had to swerve over to the oncoming lane to avoid an accident. Good thing for dashcam :)

Wonderful service and delicious food. Sara and Maura were so wonderful to work with. The chicken marsala was amazing. My guests really enjoyed everything!

They were professional and patient to work with. And the food of course was an absolute hit for my bridal shower! It was incredible with all the different kinds of pizza toppings. Highly highly recommend for your events!

A big thank you to CUCINA MAURO for catering my sons baptism. The food was absolutely delicious. My family and friends are still raving about the food. Every arrived hot, fresh and delicious. Had a last minute catering order. Ordered Lasagna, Cannelloni carne & ricotta e spinaci, charcuterie board and giardiniera board, pizza margherita. Everything was AMAZING. Heard about this little gem from a friend so I decided to check it it. Ordered a porchetta sandwich which was amazing! Looking forward to trying more items.

My mother first brought me here about a year ago. I have made this place my number 1 go to from 11am to 3pm. The paninis are made by order. No hot table. Fresh ingredients and the flavors are explosive. Pasta tastes just like nonnas. The gentlemen whom worked there are the friendliest people and yes, you may have to wait a bit but patience will reward you with the tastebud experience of your life. My favorite Italian spot in the whole GTA. Remember the food is made when you order so the wait is to ensure the freshness and definitely worth it. They also gave frozen items for take home and the lasagna is so good. The frozen pizzas and pasta are delicious and they hardly ever have the same items. The sauce (zucco) is so old school Italian delicious. Definitely worth it to come here.

Probably one of the best Ribeye and Chicken Parm sandwiches I have had in a while. We had other stuff which was also great but the sandwiches stood out big time. Great service and vibe. A well hidden Gem in this city and well worth the drive!!

Complete lack of communication and shocking absence of professionalism. I would give zero stars if I could. We tried multiple times to contact this caterer to place a large catering order. After speaking to them on the phone and asking if we could place a smaller order to try various dishes and make a selection, the company kindly agreed. We offered to send the order request through email, which they said would be preferred. We did so and what followed was a week of endlessly calling them. They told us on a Monday when we followed up that we would receive email confirmation and a pick-up date that day or the next. We did not. We called again on Wednesday, and we were assured the email confirmation was coming by end of day. We received nothing. On Thursday morning, we called again to ask what the cause of the delay was and why we had been left hanging for a week. We were suddenly told that the date of our function was already booked and had been for some time, and were rushed off the phone like we werent worth another breath. Amazing that over the course of the many conversations in the week leading up to this (including the day before!), that was never the case. The food looks nice, but I hope this business can learn to treat prospective customers with a little more courtesy and consideration. We were never rude or aggressive in our interactions with them and cant imagine why they would treat anyone that way. I can only guess that they have little regard for people if they already have orders lined up and arent in need of more business, or that they are entirely disorganized. We will definitely pass on this caterer for any future catering needs and will warn friends and family against using them. Contact them at your own risk, especially if you expect the courtesy of a reply.

We ordered from Cucina Mauro for catering our facultys orientation week. It was prompt service, in which all our questions were quickly answered leading up to placing our order. Delivery was on time and packaging was organized! The food tasted wonderful and came hot despite the drive into the downtown area. Overall, would definitely recommend Cucina Mauro for catering large gatherings and hope to have the food again for future events!

In August we went with Cucina Mauro to cater a bridal shower. Mauro was helpful throughout the process and he personally delivered to our location on time. The food was amazing, fresh and hot - we ordered a little bit of everything. Pasta, arancini, paninis, pizza. Everyone enjoyed all of the food provided; especially the paninis which were raved about. The pricing is very good and portions provide great value. Would highly recommend Mauro for any catering needs! Daily lunch at their storefront location is a plus. Cucina Mauro is amazing!! Mauro put together the perfect menu for our tastes and the event format, Everything was displayed so beautifully and was incredibly delicious. Our guests were all raving about food - and we had some hardcore Italian critics in the crowd. ;) The spedduci grilled on site and the interactive mozzarella stretching station were big hits. The service was also top notch. We didnt have to worry about a thing. The process from beginning to end was so simple; the team even arranged all of our rentals for us. On site, they took care of all of the set up and tear down; the servers welcomed our guests with smiles and were so attentive throughout the event; the chefs made us laugh in the kitchen. Man, am I glad I found Mauro. I was stressing out about finding the perfect wood oven pizza party caterer for my wifes 40th birthday party. One caterer turned me down because of unpredictable October weather; another said my guests would have to come out to my driveway because their oven had to sit in a trailer (which I didnt want). Mauro said YES, brought a couple of super cool portable ovens and a canopy to deal with the rainy weather we had (which fit perfectly on my deck), and he made some of best Neopolitan-style pizza Ive ever had! We had his Margherita, Patate, Sopresata, Calabrisella, and another one with caramelized onions and porchetta (my favorite). We also did Arancini and his Speducci station to start + Insalata di Giardino, and a custom-sized Tiramisu to finish. I honestly thought we were going to have too much food for 24 people, but everything was so damn good that everybody kept eating! Mauro is a true professional. My wife and guests were raving about the party for days afterwards. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. Thank you Cucina Mauro for a memorable evening!

I feel very lucky that we found Chef Mauro to take care of our catering needs. Weve used him for two gatherings already, and one of our friends with us on our first experience used him for their engagement party. A real crowd pleaser all-around. Was looking for a private chef for a birthday dinner for two, and Chef Andrea got recommended to me. I wanted to go for a trial run, so picked up a Porchetta sandwich and a couple frozen entries. These dishes did not disappoint. Furthermore, hiring Andrea as a private chef turned out to be an amazing decision. He was always kind and responsive to my many tweaks of the menu over 3 weeks. Additionally, he was familiar with some Italian dishes that are less common (Vitello Tonnato!) that I was requesting. The night of the dinner finally rolled around, and the food quality and presentation exceeded expectations. Also, the portions were larger than expected, which Im never going to say no to. Highlights: Oysters (taste and presentation), shrimp cocktail with the best cocktail sauce Ive ever had, branzino carpaccio was a home run, and the vitello tonnato brought us back to Santa Margherita Ligure! Cant wait to make my way to Cucina Mauro again, and to have Andrea cook for another event. Ciao!

We were very fortunate to have stumbled upon this little gem The bistecca panini was per perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the lemony taste of the arugula really enhanced the sandwich The callabrisella calzone was cheesy and spicy and cooked perfectly. I called Mauro for a last minute luncheon and he was able to not only accommodate us, but he did so willingly and was extremely personable during our many conversations. I had never heard of this restaurant, so was going in blindly with my fingers crossed. To my delight, the food was an absolute hit and everyone was raving and extremely complimentary. Mauro was really great to work with! We had a live pizza station for my sons 1st birthday and added an antipasto station as well. We had about 50 guests who raved about the food and presentation. We also ordered personal sized pies as gift favours for the guests from Freddys Pies (they work together). They make a great team- responsive, flexible, and passionate about what they do. The best spot for a quick lunch or catering for parties and events. LOVE the San Siro sandwich! The pizza is great too. The best thing about this place is the management and staff! I have ordered from Cucina Mauro several times and have always been so happy with every meal. Cucina Mauro catered our small wedding and every single dish was made with love and so much flavour. My husband is Italian and his grandparents loved the food and it was one of the most memorable meals I have ever had. You dont get any better that the approval of two Italian grandparents to know that Cucina Mauro is the real deal when to comes to authentic Italian food!

We ordered dinner for our family pre Christmas celebration and it was excellent. Real authentic Italian food. Portions were generous. Our rigatoni was full of meatballs, eggs and cheese. No skimping on ingredients! All the meats were tender and juicy. The lamb was flavourful as well as the eggplant parm. The fritto misto was exceptional. My family was very happy! Would definitely order again!

I received a pizza making course as a christmas present from my wife Ann. Her and I attended Mauro s class and all I have to say was it was great. Mauro was a very patient and easy to learn from instructor. He explained everything in simple to understand terms and was very patient with us showing us how to properly make pizza dough. I worked with Cucina Mauro to cater two separate meals for my work colleagues. Lunch was for 40 people and dinner was for another 20. Mauro was fantastic to work with. He responded quickly to my emails, offered many choices, and answered any questions I had. The food was delicious! The vegetarian lasagna was to die for. Everyone raved about this meal. We ordered five family-sized meals in order to help us stay fed during a difficult stretch. The food was fantastic! It was well-priced and tasted restaurant quality. Given that we only had to make sides and rice, it was an appreciated time-saver as well. The customer service was excellent, with Mauro answering our dietary/allergy questions quickly. I ordered a variety of menu items from CucinaMauro. The porchetta is delicious. Crispy skin, moist, great flavour. The seasonings are very good. The sausage, meatballs and sauce, veal brasciole, and cannolis are also outstanding. The portions were above and beyond what I ordered and expected. I have a lot of food! I am so glad I tried this catering company. I will definitely order from them again. By the way, in this time of COVID, the delivery was contactless and also right on time. Thank you Mauro. :)

I recently reached out to Cucina Mauro to help my family and I out with the catering for a small family gathering. As I reached out fairly last minute, I was unsure how everything would go, but Mauro was incredibly helpful, responsive, and made the process very smooth. All of our food arrived exactly on time, hot, delicious, and very authentic Italian (Nonna approved!!). My husband and I had previously met with Mauro last year to potentially cater our wedding, and while we didnt work with him for that occasion we were so excited to be able to have his food again. From our wedding tasting Mauro remembered that my husband has carried on the family tradition of making homemade sausage with his friends. This weekend when Mauro catered our family gathering, he made the incredibly thoughtful gesture of bringing along a piece of his homemade Capicolla for my husband to try as a treat! Its the personal touches like that that make all the difference! Happy to use Cucina Mauros services again!

Mauro catered our surprise engagement party! He was fantastic, professional and a delight. All the guests were incredibly impressed by the quality of the food, and especially the amazing Neapolitan style pizza and wood burning oven. I would highly recommend him for any event!!!

Mauro catered for my business partners gender reveal party. The food was incredibly delicious. He prepared a few platters, meatballs and pasta. Mauro is INCREDIBLE! We hired Mauro to make stone oven pizzas for my sons first birthday party and the food was a hit. Mauro is a true chef, he takes pride in his menu, he guarantees freshness and delivers a delicious pizza. Cucina Mauro was everything I was looking for in a caterer: responsive, quality and service. Mauro has provided excellent catering for small group meeting and my wedding. From the start, he was very easy to communicate with, provided great options and prompt quotes. The food delivery happened exactly on time for the meeting and was self sufficient for setting up at the wedding. The food both looked amazing (spread over a large wooden plank) and tasted delicious (ex moist chicken, beautiful tirimasu deserts) and it made for a great event. Cucina Mauro had catered a family event last year that we attended. The food was delicious so we thought of him for catering when planning our sons birthday. Everything from our first inquiry, to placing the order to event day was seamless. It was so easy and straight forward to work with Mauro. Mauro delivered food for 25 people to my home, ON TIME, in the middle of an ice/snow storm! Everything we ordered (Antipasto di Mare, Arancini, Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, Veal Parmigiana, Margarita pizza, Roasted potatoes) exceeded my expectations in flavour and quality. Based on the amount of food we received, excellent value for the cost. The correspondence I had with Mauro was flexible and personable. Overall, a reliable, quality, home-cooked Italian treat. We would order again in a second.

Mauro catered an office lunch for 45 people. Ordering was simple, delivery was on time and the food was excellent. It is always hard to please everyone in the office but this was a big hit. Vegetarian Lasagna was delicious and the sandwiches vanished! I dont often hear how amazing the food was when we have a luncheon but this time, everyone wanted to know where I ordered from. We hosted my daughter s Confirmation celebration at our home. Our neighbours who used Cucina Mauro for various parties told us about his wood burning pizza station and we decided that would be perfect for our party. When I first contacted Mauro he was responsive and helpful in guiding us how to proceed. We hosted an intimate party with family in our back yard and Mauro s pizza and side dishes were a huge hit. His pizza dough was fresh and topped with the best ingredients- SO DELICIOUS. Our guests devoured the pizzas and food as we enjoyed the beautiful weather in our backyard. Even my Italian in-laws were impressed. The food was a huge hit. We ordered plates and cutlery which made hosting the event at our home less stressful. Mauro is professional and courteous and really cares about quality and service. You can t ask for anything more when trusting someone to cater to your closest family and friends. It was so refreshing to deal with such a professional company. From the initial phone call, Mauro was very polite, informative and answered all my questions. He followed up with an email 10 minutes after our call. AND, he even delivered himself. It was on time and he was very respectful - took shoes off and placed all the food in the kitchen. Portion sizes were generous ! Guests were happy to leave with the leftovers. My Brothers In laws are from the same area in Italy and was very impressed with how authentic the food tasted. Never have I been this excited to post a Google review!!!! We had the privilege of Cucina Mauro catering our very first Holiday Party for our new business. To us this was a very big deal and an extremely important event however it was a first, we really didnt know what to expect . I can say with great confidence that Cuccina Mauro MADE the event. Not only did he provide the food, his set up created this ambiance that just had everyone socializing and connecting on a level we didnt think was possible (Three days later and were still getting Instagram messages and emails asking for Cucina Mauros contact info). Lets rewind prior to the event... Organizing the menu was an extremely easy process, all done electronically (just how we like it). Mauro made some adjustments to accommodate all of our staffs dietary restrictions in the blink of an eye. He stayed in touch (we obviously were very excited and booked 2 months in advance) with updates via email the entire time and last but not least, the final touch that just blew me away...on his own time Mauro took a visit a to where were going to be hosting the event to get a visual of the layout and to plan accordingly. We booked catering for our Christmas party with Cucina Mauro. Mauro was very professional and courteous and he responded to our questions regarding his menu, ingredients and pricing in a timely fashion. A house full of Italians were raving about the food and went back for seconds. We ordered the meat lasagna and cannelloni Alfredo with spinach and ricotta. The pastas were fresh and the fillings were abundant, rich and flavourful. The chicken in white wine mushroom sauce was moist and delicious. The riceballs tasted like Nonnas and the grilled vegetables were perfection. It is very clear Cucina Mauro cooks from the heart with fresh ingredients....AMAZING FOOD! I am 2nd generation italian and grew up eating authentic italian. So quality of food is very important to me, especially if I am entertaining. I had never heard of Cucina Mauro until I googled italian food catering, two days before my event. The reviews were favourable so I decided to give them a try. I sent an email to the company and almost immediately received a response from Mauro. We chatted about what I needed for my event, he provided some feedback and presto my order was placed. I was sent an invoice and that was the end of my involvement until Mauro called me on the day of my event to tell me he was on his way to deliver the chicken parmigiana and ricotta/spinach cannelloni. Now the real reason for this review, was to provide feedback about the food. To say it was delicious is an understatement! To say it was authentic, is an even bigger understatement! My guests loved it!! They even asked for copies of the menus. What impressed me the most was that the smell of the sauce was so authentic italian that it could have been mistaken for my mothers amazing sauce! The cannelloni were cooked to perfection, yum! The chicken was not dry, it was extremely moist. I wholeheartedly recommend Cucina Mauro, I know I will definitely be ordering from them again :).

Cucina Mauro has catered for me twice - once for my Italian/Indian wedding, and again for my Italian grandfathers birthday. Everything was delicious - from the mouthwatering antipasto, to the best eggplant parmesan I ever had, to the addictive tiramisu that everyone fought over. Mauro was super accommodating with our requests, always responded quickly, and made both of these special days even greater. As someone who grew up in an Italian family with traditional nonni, I can say Cucina Mauros food brings all the tastes, scents, and appearance of classic Italian food. Highly, highly recommended!!!

Mauro catered a dinner for 70 people (including 12 children) that required a very specialized menu. His consultation throughout the planning and preparation was ongoing and everything was thoroughly thought out. He provided soup, salad, meatballs, chicken marsala, three side dishes, fruit and dessert and it was all delicious!! There were many positive comments on the quality and quantity of the food he provided, as well as requests for his contact information!! It was a pleasure working with Mauro and I look forward to using Cucina Mauro again for future celebrations.

Im usually on top of my planning but when I looked down my list the morning of my bridal shower i realized I had forgot to contact them in advance for a large pasta order. I had never dealt with them before and just found them under Italian catering nearby. I assumed I would be shot down since I was late but thought I would give it a try and Mauro had no problem accommodating! Excellent customer service and even followed up through e-mail to ensure it was all on par. Delicious, massive portions and great service. They even profvided extra sauce on the side! Mauro came to our house for an in home cooking class! It was amazing! He brought us hats and aprons, which we were more than happy to don! We started with a bruschetta from scratch, we roasted our bread, cut the tomatoes and ate it, all before making pasta from scratch, with an Italian sausage arrabbiata sauce! Finishing with getting to stuff our very own chocolate lined cannolis! It was great fun, Mauro was super prepared, and even did most of the cleaning! (he brought his own dishes which was amazing!) We loved the whole experience, and would recommend him to anyone!!

Absolutely delicious!! I ordered a variety of food for Fathers Day for my husband because hes a big foodie and he absolutely loved everything, which says a lot! In addition I generally dont like Italian food but everything tasted fresh and the porchetta was irresistible!! This will be our go to company for catered food when we entertain guests.

Mauro catered an event for my family (45 guests) and did an AMAZING job from start to finish. Initially he worked with me to put together a beautiful menu for an outdoor event (everything from antipasto to eggplant parm, to speducci, to wood fired oven pizza, to porchetta). We found them on the internet, and liking the look of their website we decided to take a chance on them (not knowing anyone who had prior experience with them). We are VERY glad we did. From the beginning, our dealings with the company were personable and professional. We ordered several antipasti trays as well as lasagna and a salad for a group of 15. The food was delicious, and this attestation was also offered by those among us of Italian heritage who have high expectations for authentic Italian cuisine.
