Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Toronto

They seem to do smaller batches so the chicken is hot and fresh. They also seem to really care about their customer s experience. This location is my go to Popeyes place. Highly recommended. Update Having eaten here and for the last three years, this place is still the best Popeyes. Yes you might have to wait a bit to get there freshly made Chicken, but it s well worth it. There is nothing better than freshly made fried chicken - hot, juicy, with super crispy skin.

They don t wear gloves, are too busy socializing rather than prepping your order. Food was absolutely disgusting and inedible.

I haven t been able to get off the toilet since I come home from this dirty disgusting dump the food was over salted the service was awful never again ,if you care for your personal health don t go here.

We like Popeyes in general , however this evening we had a horrible experience. Quality of the chicken we bought at this location ( 1955 Queen st East) is questionable. Chicken smelled foul ,old and tasted really bad. It was discoloured as well. Total waste of money, Health concern for kids as they started eating a piece.

Always reliable, but have messed my order more than once (gave me a spicy sandwich instead of a normal one, gave a me cold Mac and cheese). Dont get the poutine, its not cheese chunks its just one cheese obelisk they microwave.

Burnt chicken every time I get delivery. It seems as tho they warm up sitting chicken in the fryer and send it out. Inside of the chicken pieces are not edible.

The food is delicious, especially the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making each visit enjoyable. The dining area is clean and well-maintained.

1 star for the owner of this location, I m not sure why they thought it was a good idea to have one employee on cash and one cooking on a federal holiday, so busy and 30+ minute wait time for one sandwich with no combo. They were working extremely hard and trying their absolute best to keep up with the crowd and long lines but I find it absolutely insane that more people weren t scheduled to work.

I had spicy sandwich yesterday and it was one of the best sandwich i had recently.And i would like to mention about the front staff,she was very friendly and polite.Thank you popoyes

First ever visit to Popeyes. Wow this food was some of the worst food I ve ever paid for. The only thing decent was the butterfly shrimp. The soda selection is bleak. Sauce came with it instead of being extra and thats the only positive. The mac and cheese was nearly flavorless. The cole slaw was completely inedible. The biscuit was cardboard. Doesn t come with anything to put on it either. I m still hungry after eating that extremely disappointing excuse for a meal. Used the bathroom and it was dingy and gross. Will never ever ever ever step foot in a Popeyes ever again. Go to KFC instead. Waste of money.

Whoever took over this Popeyes has very low standards. My gosh, it even smells like stale urine. Also, they refuse to make spicy chicken nuggets and the Thursday special with a thigh , leg and wing, they will never give you a wing. I literally watch this place, and atmosphere decline!

Closing at 2am? YEAH RIGHT! This Popeyes has been closing earlier than 2 am for weeks! Locking the door before midnight and turning away paying customers from using the bathroom because they were closing . It s 12:05 am as I write this AS they laugh about canceling an Uber eats order. Seriously? I wonder if the owner knows.

Went in to order food and they were charging more than the prices listed on the menu. I pointed it out and they said the sign is old. They refused to honor their posted, advertised prices so we walked out.

This location is running a scam at night where they over charge your card and tell you that the price of every menu item has increased from the television menu.

Establishment did not honour the prices on the board. Charged higher prices than advertised while saying that their prices went up. Poorly managed store.

Unfortunately, in the 21st century, card payments are not accepted at the time of the visit. Perhaps its an ongoing issue. Online ordering on the app also has failed to fulfil its purpose. =/

Biscuit was undercooked and they were not very generous with their chicken pieces. Very underwhelming and they failed to complete absolutely normal tasks in a decent amount of time. Everything took over 25 minutes and the person at the cashier was probably gumped. She refused to replace my fries with a biscuit, which is a totally normal request and their fountain pop was watery. Popeyes staff did not even try to properly accommodate for the broken debit/credit machine. Overall experience leads up to me to never coming back to this garbage popeyes.

Worst dining experience ever! The service was incredibly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional. On top of that, the food was cold and tasteless specially fries was cold and saggy. I would not recommend this branch to anyone.

This is outrageous be careful they gave me Mac & cheese that was 2 days old after I found this out I was very disappointed maybe next time you should hire staff that actually want to work there the worker on shift told me how old it was so I ordered so I took a bite of the Mac & cheese to taste sour raunchy milk in there it has gone bad disgusting I want a full refund that s just disgusting and please think twice about going to this location they feel no sympathy if you get food poisoning

This location is absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. It s a surprise the health department hasn t shut them down. I went in to order food and every single table was greasy and had pieces of chicken strewn across it. There was chicken on at least two of the seats. The floor looked like it hadn t been swept or mopped in well over one shift. The employees weren t in the weeds, they just don t care about the cleanliness of the restaurant. One peek behind the counter and it didn t look much better. Needless to say I didn t order food.

Ive been wanting to review this specific location for so long now. I come here every now an then when Im drunk enough to believe maybe, just maybe, theyve changed. But somehow every time I come here, I spend lots of money, and still have the worst meal Ive ever had in a while. It makes me so mad that Im even dumb enough to spend my money here. Today specifically, I ordered fries and Mac and cheese with my 5 tenders and I got a very small handful of fries, and a very small very poorly made bit of Mac and cheese. Im actually concerned the Mac and cheese may be old, and might make me sick still, it tasted SO weird. At this point Im not sure why this location hasnt been take over by new management/gotten new employees cause its such a good spot, but if theyre not going to do that, I truly think it should be shut down. Hate to be that person but Im really sick of wasting my time and money.

Chicken tenders are not up to Popeyes standard. Barely crispy and weird taste.

Ran out of tomato ran out of lettuce. Bun less than fresh. Dirty tables out front with staff in back busy and loud socializing. Disgusting bathrooms. Lack of management. They need to pick it up at this location.

Food is not cooked to the correct temperature, you can see blood in the chicken and the meat is not fully cooked in the middle.

I walked in to get food and there was a homeless man clipping his toe nails in the booth, the entire floor was coated in a layer of grease and the one employee looked dead inside. my food took 25mins to make. I went to use the washroom and it was filled with boxes like storage room. I had to climb around boxes to pee. this is the literal worst place to eat in the world. never again

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

I have been tried more than 20 Popeyes in Toronto and outside of Toronto but this location have worst in customer service and also with the food. Ordered one classic chicken sandwich which was full of oil and also the fries was cold. Better spend this money somewhere else.

You should know what to expect. A little greasy but you re not going here to not get something fried! Consistent and delicious. Usually pretty quick too.

Extremely salty even by fast food standards. It was painful to eat the first piece of chicken and then I gave up on finishing my small meal.

By far the worst Popeyes I ve been too. Unfortunately, I ve been to a lot of them because my kids love it. Ordered online at 11:51am. Arrived to store at 12:09 with one customer (so it wasn t busy). The associate behind counter proceeded to ignore me for 3 minutes while she prepared the order she just took. When she finally acknowledged me, I told her the module order number. At that point - 25 minutes after I placed the order - they STARTED the order. That s not the purpose of ordering ahead. Not even an acknowledgment that they did anything to inconvenience us.

Food always takes about 6-7 minutes to be ready! Everytime! Isnt this supposed to be a fast food joint! Terrible

Last nights experience was different than what I normally have there. I go there late, around 11pm and the food I got was not fresh or even remotely close to it. The fruits seemed hours old. The chicken leg I had was slimy, which is why I hate KFC and Popeyes is my go to, but I was very disappointed last night. The mashed was good though as well as the chicken sandwich. The lady was also nice.

Taste was fine but the sandwich cutlet was pathetic. So small and only had one pickle!!

This is a rather run-down location at Popeyes. The ice machine wasn t working and they took 15 minutes to fry my chicken. I wouldve given 2 stars, but the chicken is extremely fresh since they fried it from scratch. Felt bad because nobody was eating at lunch, so Im giving it a 4 stars. More than enough. Not coming here again

Partner got there at 3:45AM but they say they re closed when Google says they close at 5:00AM. Been seeing this a lot lately at places. Guess workers just don t really care to work when they re supposed too anymore!

Health and safety not maintained. The male chef was not wearing a hair net, nor a beard net. Concerned about hair in my food. I visited on March 20th, at 11:24pm. Also my chicken was raw, which the restaurant offered a replacement for.

Visited the Beaches location on the night of 03/22/2021 and ordered chicken tenders and fries. After a long wait in the store, everything came out hot, looking fresh and tasting good. However when picked up the batter was coming off, which I just thought it was strange. I still ate it because everything else seemed fine. I regret that! I have been terribly ill since.

Atrocious service, lower than average chicken Sorry to post such a bad review during these hard times for restaurants and such, although fast food chains are probably the less hit. This place is run by people who are not only incompetent for this demanding job, but also dishonest. After going through the items on the menu that would have been rather quick to prepare, as I was in a bit of a rush, I decided to skip some of my original picks that would have taken 15-20 minutes , to go for those. I was told that my order would take 7 minutes . Instead I ended up waiting almost for twenty minutes AND my order ended up being mixed up as well as short (mild chicken instead of spicy, no wings). I would have preferred if I was told that these items would have taken X amount of REAL HONEST time than to be told a low one so that I could place my order, which was rather large... I don t know if it was a communication issue with the cooks at the back, or if they simply just wanted as much of my money as possible. Whatever the case I would never get an order from them again, I d rather drive an extra five minutes to go the the second closest Popeye s.... The food itself was also below the average chicken from this franchise, slightly over cooked chicken, burnt scones, overdone rice/fries... So as I summed up initially, incompetent for this job and probably dishonest, avoid the place like the virus...I usually don t want to write negative reviews because it s bad for the people that are working hard there, but I also wanted to inform the fellow fried chicken fan; if you are rushed for a quick bite of Popeye s don t go to that place. If you are chill and have like a half hour to spend, repeatedly explain what you d like to order and check to make sure that all the items that you ordered are in the bag so you could eat lower than average stuff from Popeye s chicken, than this might be your place.

My family and I went here today. Normally we all love Popeyes but the service was terrible. The staff said 7 min wait and we ended up waiting 34min for chicken that was greasy and falling apart. Their macaroni was runny. The staff forgot to put spoons in the bag and I ended up going back in to ask for some. The staff argued with me that he had put one in the bag instead of just giving me the spoon. Very poor customer service. I hate to give such a bad review during a pandemic. The owner needs to train their staff better.

Waited 25 minutes for 2 chicken sandwiches and medium fries for pickup via Skip. Waited another 5-10 minutes in store because it wasn t ready. It was not busy. An employee not wearing mask (around chin), passes their phone to employee preparing food to show them something. Employee uses phone, passes back and goes to prepare food without washing hands! They did wash when asked. After all that part of order ended up being wrong, and fries were like cardboard. And now sick with food poisoning symptoms morning after. Never again.

Slowest Popeyes ever! I ve been here as a customer and an Ubereats driver. They can t handle more than two customers at a time. Make sure you carve out half an hour if you wanna eat here.

I walked into this restaurant last night on August 2 2021 at about 11:40pm very bad poor customer service the lady working at the front cash was very rude and nasty she doesnt listen to my order. Got all wrong and tone of voice loud with a bad attitude i asked for more ketchup nicely since she only put one and yelled at me i already put in the bag i know you i just need more which i have the right i am paying money of course she grabbed like two aggressivey and put in the bag i do not support anyone to go this location i am sorry to say manger needs to train staff store was dirty and her uniform was messy and she doesnt wash hands if you do not like your job quit!!

I found a hair in my food among the first bite and the cashier tried telling me there is nothing she can do about it. I insisted and eventually got my money back. Staff taking masks off in the back area, as well as scratching their bodies without washing hands or gloves after If you care about potentially catching COVID I would steer clear from this popeyes location!
