Very clean, authentic and welcoming environment. Immediately addressed by the kind woman at the front with a warm smile and hello, with small conversation to acknowledge what we were celebrating, she promptly showed us to our table. (We even briefly mentioned it was cold out so she sat us at a table away from the breeze). Throughout our dining experience, all staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations tailored to our dietary preferences. The food was not only delicious but also clearly fresh, served in generous portions (with plenty of leftovers to take home). The combination of flavor, price, quality, and quantity ensures my return visits. Our needs were always taken care of before we even had to ask, always attention to detail despite working multiple roles. This restaurant was exceptionally clean, including the bathroom! This establishment exemplifies the outcome of resilience and dedication of family-run businesses, showcasing their passion through their creations.

My family and I visited for a quick snack but ended up eating a full meal. Great service, clean place above all the quality and quantity was just beyond what we expected. Thank you for the amazing meal.

My bro got take-out for 13 people from Danforth Dragon. They were helpful on the phone, and the food was delicious. Make no mistake, this is authentic food! BBQ sesame chicken, fried rice, chicken balls, tofu and veggie stir fry...they got it all! Had some nice hot spice too! Food

Ive been coming here since high school and recently started going back. Same owner and same good food! Lunch special is only $13 with a drink and the food is always hot and fresh. The portions are very large, I never end up finishing my meal.

Have been here a few times in years past and the food was good. Last night however, I found a LONG string of melted plastic in my food about halfway through eating. The server gave a mild apology, removed the one item from the bill and gave a small discount on the rest. Regardless, to say I feel disgusted is an understatement. Not sure what it was or how the chef managed to not see it. Will not be returning.

If you enjoy Hakka food, Danforth Dragon does not disappoint. Have been ordering here for 5+ years and the food, service, and value are consistently great. IMO their chilli chicken is one of best in the city.

Manchurian Chicken Fried Rice was delish. Here s what Google reviewers don t use often enough: Comparables for other food lovers who will drive anywhere. This rice was similar to Luckys (Scarb Golf Club location). Moist, aromatic, flavorful, nice spice hit. Hakka food fans will know. Even Fredericks has goods and bads (another Hakka cult fave). Hope this helps you pick the right dish. In general, I was never a fan of the Hakka imitation of cantonese dishes (non-spicy). I can see by the pictures why some didn t like the bland stuff. If you re looking for standard crowd pleasers, perhaps go with Congee Queen.

Came across this place while walking down the street. Saw the $10 noodle for take out order. Also ordered a Manchurian chicken. The guy took order as Manchurian beef. Realized it after I came home. No problem cause I eat beef and it was really good. Should be careful. Some people dont eat beef and would mad af.

The food is great. However, the lady that stands at the counter (I think she is the owner) is very short with everyone and constantly just stands there and stares at you while you eat. She should let people eat in peace.

I got the Manchurian chicken, it wasnt good. So greasy, not much taste to it. And the chicken tasted stale and not fresh.

We ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles, Crispy Ginger Eggplant and a Mango Lassi. The service was quick as we received our food shortly after ordering. The noodles had a nice curry flavour and the eggplant was crispy and not too spicy. We will return again when were in the area.

Ordered bbq pork. The dish itself wasn t too bad but the pork tasted so stale even with all the sauce covered on it. I love bbq pork and has been eating it my whole life and this has to be the worse I ve ever had

Encouraged by the positive reviews I have ordered their ginger beef but Im afraid its not even edible. Very tough and very sweet, it felt like eating batter covered in hard caramelized sugar. I dont know if its old or just badly prepared.I felt sick after few mouthfuls. Waste of money and shame on whoever cooked this thing.

I love this restaurant always on point ! Vegetarian options: I always order on uber eats its always fast and arrives hot and fresh they follow my notes. I get Shanghai noodles and ask for no chicken/shrimp just veggies as I dont eat meat. My order is always correct. I love the crispy eggplant sooo delicious!

I ordered the dragon chicken through ubereats and it had no flavour. I m so disappointed, I tried a lot of hakka spots in Toronto before and wanted try something new but this spot was a bad idea. Don t order from here guys.

We had countless compliments of how amazing the food was and the best food they have had at a wedding! They came prepared with takeout containers for any food left over. I had the distinct opportunity to attend a wedding in Arden, Ontario for a family member of the owners of this restaurant. It was catered by them and I have to say that I have sampled food from numerous Chinese restaurants in my 55 years and the food at the wedding was by far, the best Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life. The Crispy Ginger Chicken was my favourite. Excellent flavour, super crispy pieces of chicken and they melted in your mouth. Shrimp balls, dumplings, rice, spring rolls, noodles and kabab patties all freshly cooked immediately before the reception and there was enough food to feed two wedding events. I HIGHLY recommend the food from Danforth Dragon and if I get the chance, I will be stopping by the restaurant to try as many other items as I can. You won t be disappointed!!

Food quality first class

Was excited to try this place but it felt so pricey for what we got. Usually $40 of Hakka can get enough food for two people for dinner and left overs for the next day, but the dishes we ordered were $17 each and didn t match the prices on Google but we decided to try it anyways. The lady on the phone told me it was 10% off if I paid cash but the young man told us thats not the case when we picked it up. Overall for the price and miscommunication this just didn t feel worth it for just okay food.

Loved the place. We ordered dragon chicken and Hakka chow Mein and the food was amazing. Staff were very friendly too. Would highly recommend the place.

Best Hakka Chinese food Ive had so far in Canada

I used to go here all the time during my high school days. Hands down one of the best Hakka places in the city. The environment is cozy, the staff are friendly, and the food is top notch!

The food was great! The Hakka Chow Mein, Hakka Masala Fish, and the Hakka Ginger Beef were very good and tasty. Will definitely order those again. Generous portion sizes. Service was superb.

4 yrs ago I gave this place 5 stars and it s still 5 stars! It s 9pm on a Sunday and I desperately wish they were open.

Fast and courteous service, very delicious food. It is a good combination of Indian and Chinese cuisine. Spicy dishes are hot but you can still tell the taste. I would recommend and come again. I forgot to take pictures as I jumped in my plate once it was on the table.

The food is yummy but the checkout automatically adds a tip. The website also offers a 10% discount for orders online and you never get it at checkout. The food is delicious and satisfying but they have deceptive pricing policies and they know it. Last time I was there they quickly gave me my refund at the door. I don t like this kind of confrontation when I order food.

Was in the neighborhood and thought to ordered from this place due to good reviews, pleasant food pics and vibe. Ordered on 19th may. Got served overcooked and literally burnt chill chicken in takeout. Couldnt even chew and smelt like charcoal. Completely spoiled the dinner and the experience. Spoke with Ash the manager next day as they were closed on ordered day. He offered 50% refund rather than full refund in the name of company policy. I dont live in the neighborhood and to drive 35 km to get either 50% refund or to get something else for the equivalent price is a joke. Mentioned a complicated refund procedure if I wanted the refund back on Visa. So per the company policy, its okay to serve food which is burnt while protecting your employee/chef and screw the customer. Good going.

The service is great and the food is even better. Try the crispy ginger beef and dont miss out on the delicious vegetable balls.. the only really hard decision is if you should get the amazing garlic sauce, or the fantastic manchurian sauce.

The dragon is a Danforth institution, serving up, probably, the best hakka food in the GTA. Get the masala chicken and fried paneer with green chutney!

Prices are a bit too high with all considering.. Every year they raise them, soon itll be $20+ for just a thing of Hakka Chow Mein. Should be 10.99 at most.

Stumbled upon this place while walking down this street. Had dinner here with my friend and was very happy with the appetizer and entree sizes. Ordered a mango lassi which was nice too. Nothing but good things to say! Our typical order is the pan fried veggie Canto noodles, chicken curry, and chicken fried rice. The crispy chicken and BBQ pork are also delicious. Great portions, good price, and friendly staff.

Just ordered the Szechuan chicken, WAY TOO SALTY GUYS! Not sure if this was an off misshapen but I feel that the cook dumped in half a bottle of soy sauce and said WELP, Im going to continue to cook and send it out of here anyway. Holy Hakka, the crispy ginger beef is amazing!!! Ive tried hakka a few times and the crispy ginger beef is my go-to test of how good it is. Gotta say, Danforth Dragon did not disappoint. The beef was crispy without being hard and jerky-like in texture, the garlic flavour really came through, and the overall taste was sweet/spicy-but-leaning-towards-sweet. Basically, checked all the things I look for in my crispy ginger beef. Got also a few other things: - Shrimp pakora: Pretty good! The coating wasnt too thick, shrimp-to-fillong ratio was fine, and while it was chewier than what Im used to, that was actually a good thing. - Singaporean noodles: A miss for me. I opened up the takeout container and smelled the curry and got so excited. Too bad the dish didnt live up to that initial smell. It wasnt bad, just a bit dry and would have wanted a slightly stronger curry taste. - Mango lassi: Thick, yogurty, strong mango flavour. I really enjoyed Danforth Dragon. And needless to say, if you do stop by, make sure to try the crispy ginger beef.

Ordered chicken wings and chilli chicken. Both were less than ideal. Wings were very bland and chilli chicken was very salty. They were very quick when it came to delivery and the hand off was very smooth. I did enjoy there online ordering process.

Today, I ordered food from here through Uber Eats and I am so happy with their foods. This is the first time I liked chinese food here in Canada. I ordered one manchurian chicken and one yang chow fried rice. Having a spice tooth, I requested to make the fried rice super spicy. But I was a little bit nervous about that because usually when I request for spicy foods at other chinese restaurants they put more raw chillies on top of the food or just send few hot sauces. But this restaurant really made me happy with the result. Though they charged one more dollar for the special request but I am very satisfied because the taste of all the foods is so damn good. Really, guys you made my day. From now on, I will order foods from you. Please continue to maintain this quality, good luck!

Good spicy dishes ,not too bad at all ,must try.

I am not sure if this place can call itself indian hakka. The chilli paneer had no flavor (not sure if it was paneer to begin with) , the noodles were bland and the masala fish was very ordinary. And the next day me and my wife both had stomach aches. Not going here again!!! Not sure who gives these guys 4-5 stars.

Update Sept 2021: I love this restaurant so much my friend who lives on the Danforth picked up food from here and drove it to Fenelon Falls Ontario for my birthday. Food was just as good as I remember if not better and it was still hot after a 2 hr drive from Toronto if that isnt a good enough reason to order from here I dont know what is. Stayed on the Danforth with friends and ate here for my birthday on July 26th. We got A LOT of food. Everything was delicious we ordered Beef with Broccoli, Lemon Chicken, Hakka Fried Rice, Manchurian Beef, Butter Chicken and Crispy Honey Garlic Beef. I want to move to Toronto for this restaurant.

Wow!! Gals night out and we were looking for something cheap in the neighbourhood. Im fussy about my Asian food but every dish was so delicious and amazing. One friend is already planning to bring her family here on the weekend. And the staff could not be more lovely. I wish every place was as wonderful as this. Highly highy recommend!!

Utterly Disappointing. Great place if you prioritise cheap and quantity over quality. The food lacked flavour, taste or anything remotely gastronomical. An argument could be made over delivery vs in-restaurant experience, but I highly doubt that. My order was pretty basic that any Chinese restaurant worth 2 cents could not afford to screw up. Chili Chicken was bland, Dumplings were doughy and without salt, Hakka chow mien was greasy and had a funny smell. BBQ pork fried rice was somewhat acceptable. Needless to say, most of it going to the green bin. I really had high hopes based on reviews and rating. In summary, the search for acceptable Chinese food continues..

Tried this the other day for the first time and will gladly come back! The Dragon chicken meal was absolutely delicious!! Just the right amount of spice and flavor without being to overbearing. Service was fantastic and the place was super clean! One of the few hakka/Chinese places ive been to where they give you more meat/dish than the actual rice! (This is a good thing) definitely recommend. Would give 6 stars if I could.

#Worstfoodever on 2019 New Years Eve. $70 and couldnt eat plain fried noodles, barely eat burnt butter chicken, curry was watery and oily, chicken fried rice and chicken wings were okay. $70 wasted. I dont get why they have such high reviews, must be friends of the staff. When we complained they offered no remedy to our concerns about the $5 plain fried noodles were burnt and dry and crispy and werent fried at all. Please see pictures posted on January 1, 2019. Unjustifiable so the reply only addresses the problem and doesnt address the fact that the food was bad and those pictures were what was left uneaten and we were all starving.

This is legit my favorite food in the city by a wide margin. Get the massala chicken, ginger eggplant or jira beans. Great for meat eaters or vegetarians.

Ive been wanting to try this place out for awhile now. Delicious Mango Lassi that completely spoiled my appetite for all the other delicious stuff. Finished my soup and eggroll, but couldnt eat more than a few bites of my actual meal. And I can eat quite a bit! Took it home for yummy leftovers. They also serve an awesome local beer, Cheetah, mango flavour. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Got us a clean, wet cloth to wipe up neon sauce that had fallen onto jeans.

Service was fast and super friendly. I would like to be able to comment on other dishes, but the dragon chicken is so good that I order it every time Im there. The server was great with my young kids too. At the end of the meal, she asked me quietly if she could bring some ice cream for them. My kids loved it, but Im glad she gave me the option of saying no without them screaming at the mention of ice cream. I used to live nearby and never tried it at the time, but now I come here every time Im in the area. Yum!

Started working down the street at Goodlife fitness as their new General manager, and cant tell you how pleased i was to find this gem walking distance from work, especially after tasting the food. Hakka is quite popular in Toronto, especially in the cities east end. Have seen many Hakka restaurants pop up, and many times been disappointed. Danforth Dragon was phenomenal! Had the Chili chicken and the Hakka fried rice and was so authentic and flavorful. Especially happy that they dont dumb down on how spicy the food is to cater to a certain group of people. Dont change a thing, and keep up the good work, you will be seeing me once a week.

I like it. I usually order the Generals Chicken to go. Service is fast too which is a big plus for me. Not open on Mondays which is a bit of a bummer. Ive forgotten a couple times only to be greeted by a Closed sign upon arrival.

I was quite happy with the food until recently. The service is what dropped it to one star for me. I am vegetarian and asked for a dish to be made vegetarian for delivery and it was delivered incorrectly. The gentleman on the phone who I called to inquire about this mistake told me sorry I can t do anything repeatedly as I tried to reason with him. Was a neighborhood favourite but I can t support a business so cheap and conceited that they can t own up to a mistake.

The restaurant was clean and staff very friendly, but the food taste was very unappealing. It was very salty, oily and just tasted weird. It s too bad cuz the portions are generous. I would have probably given 5 stars simply if the flavour was there. Too bad, was very excited. We had the Szechwan chicken, the Indian flavours overwhelmed the Asian culinary.

Mouth watering chicken dragon. Amazing food!

Was here on the 28th of Febuary 2015. Service was 5/5, had everything I ask for but a glass of milk (good for spicy food) but the mango Cheetah was an ok substitute. The complimentary ice-cream was a nice touch. I give the chilli chicken 4/5, the spices was good but not a 5/5. The look of the venue is a 3/5, good for lunch time runs type look, good part is theres outlets by the tables for the tech savey. Price is right for a Danforth restaurant but my question to myself will be if I was on Danforth will I come to Danforth Dragon?? yes I would.

Some of the tastiest food youll find in the city... Staff are always pleasant and helpful. The food also comes out amazingly fast. I dont know how they do it.

This is the greatest Haka food l have ever tasted #1 is their chilli chicken #2 would be the Dragon house special both are very good and spicy.please Dragon house come to Cobourg you will make a killing here.

Always fast, always friendly and the food is fresh and affordable. I only go for the lunch specials which are usually enough for two meals for me.

I thought it was a really good place. Reasonable prices, kind staff, and a great amount of delicious food. I got butter chicken for dinner yesterday, I enjoyed it a lot. I couldnt finish the food, so I brought the leftover. I was just eating it for lunch today when I chewed something that wasnt food. I am not sure if I can trust the food anymore.

I order #9 chilli pork thru Doordash. Thought that just a so so Asian cuisine, however, the food boomed my mind! You must try!

One of my fave hakka restaurants in Toronto, service is insanely fast and chili chicken and ginger beef or chicken are awesome.

we asked for xtra spicy and the food was bland. the hot and sour soup is actually warm and sweet soup. service is attentive but i had to remind the server of xtras that came with the dish such as rice. obviously, the bulk of their sales are for consumers who do not like very spicy food. so be it... the only question i have is the following: is it really that expensive or difficult to fulllfill a request to make the food spicy ???

Great food, great service, great portion, great price!! Best for Dine in or take out both. If you are into spicy food, order Chilli chicken with extra spicy. It will kill you! I love it!!

Dont order the meat chopsuey from this place! Its a plate full of bean sprouts, sprinkle of cabbage and a few threads of carrots. I made a mistake ordered the BBQ pork chopsuey and the pork was diced into tiny cubes of meat. Complained to the server and was told that it was a different region variant of the dish. Seriously, chopsuey was invented in North America and not in China nor India. The dish should be renamed as stir-fry bean sprouts. Really misleading.

Excellent food, great value, and friendly staff; probably the best Hakka Chinese/Indian fusion cuisine in Toronto. My favorites are the Masala Chicken (lightly oiled but dry dish in Tandoori Style, but can be eaten with just plain rice), and Dragon Chicken (chicken made into almost a curry, with coriander and spices, very flavourful and not scorch-your-innards-ly hot.) The Hakka Style Fried Rice is also great to add along to the main courses. Just the perfect amount of spice, salt, etc. The only issue could possibly be that the prices are slightly higher than some of the cheapest spots, but after considering the rice being included, the greater quantity of food, and the significantly better taste of the food, this is a much greater value. Ive driven there--from Steeles and the 404--passing by other Hakka Restaurants, just because the food is worth it.

Excellent food, great value, friendly and accommodating staff. The manchurian mushroom in particular was a surprise hit with my family. Only caveat: if you like spice, ask for your food extra spicy. By default even the theoretically spicier dishes are pretty mild.
