One of the waitress had a horrible attitude and acted like I owe her my food money. Like honestly at such a high price for apparently mediocre food I d expect better service than that! Steer away.

Watch out what s in the noodles. Last two times I ate in this restaurant, I found hair and baby cockroach in the soup I ordered.

I recently visited this noodle restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The service was incredibly horrible the staff seemed uninterested and inattentive throughout my entire visit. On top of that, the noodles were extremely hard and almost impossible to enjoy. Overall, I wouldn t recommend this place based on my experience.

The Markham and Scarborough locations is much better but I hate the fact its a chain location. Because this location the cook doesnt make it as good. I still come here because Im too lazy to travel so far. For the very same thing.

food was delicious, for 40 bucks we enjoyed a big soup with plenty of toppings. but service was bad because they didnt bring us 1 item that we ordered and when i asked for napkins the server gave me attitude saying she was busy and she will deal with me later. then when she was free she gave me 1pc of napkin but there were 2 people in our table. i would only recommend this place for the food.

Easily the best noodle soup Ive ever had. Very quick to get food after you order, and the portions are huge for the price. I got two meals out of a single bowl without ordering any extra noodles or broth.

I wish I could give it a zero.. Found a baby cockroach in my noodles! I started going to this place after another baby cockroach experience in my noodles (avoid Pho Ginger by all means). I realized the only safe places to order food from without causing mental stress are the restaurants that are located in new condos and food quality is better. My family and I love coming here. We live in the neighbourhood and it s our go-to spot as my kid loves their soup noodles. I have been to this place multiple times, while they are famous for their soup noodles, I must say their sandwich is the best. Ordered mushroom and chicken sandwich with fries twice and it was really good. I paid extra $.75 for a cup of HK milk tea as well. Price is definitely reasonable comparing to the places in the same area. Will definitely go back for lunch again!

Terrible service from the elder members. To simply put it, they are racist. Just like how the other low-rating reviews described: if you are not favored by them, then you wouldn t have a good service. Food was mediocre at best. The overall dinning experience was bad and definitely not worth the money.

Deer Garden Signature the food is not exceptional. The cashiers treatment is terrible. I ordered my food to go because they kept telling me that they were about to close, even though I arrived in good weather to eat there. I definitely do not recommend it and it is not a place to spend a pleasant time either. If the restaurant is one of your favorites and you think there is nothing better, but you do not want rude treatment, order through food service platforms.

Definitely not recommending this restaurant. First of all, the food quality here is below average. We ordered a noodle in fish soup and the soup tasted very fishy and unpleasant. We ordered another noodle in spicy soup and the spicy flavour in the soup is rather unbalanced and there s also no options on the spicy. Second, we paid for almost $20 for each bowl of noodle and it s indeed overpriced for such quality of food.

If I can put 0 star in this review, I would ve. The lady who took order, asked how we re going to pay before even taking our order. We asked for water and they said later . One of my friend was choking and needed water so bad, the lady (same lady who took our order) said yes yes yes in a rude way, gave water to my friend, basically spilling everything. Half the glass was left when she handed it. Before we left, the same lady was in a rush saying pay now, pay now. No customer service at all. Very rude. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I recently tried this amazing restaurant that serves my all-time favorite dish: Rice Noodle (Mixian)! I had heard about it and finally got the chance to visit one of their several locations. I ordered the slice beef & fish fillet rice noodle with Szechuan spicy soup. The portion size was incredibly generous, with plenty of tender beef, fish fillet, and veggies. The beef was so delicious, and it was really SPICY! Im glad that I can handle spice pretty well, so it wasnt a big deal for me. If youre a fan of spicy food, you absolutely have to try this soup! And if youre not, dont worry, they have other milder options too. I also tried their Hainanese chicken rice, which wasnt exactly like the Singaporean version, but the chicken was so incredibly tender and flavorful. Plus, all dishes come with a complimentary hot drink. No doubt, its a bit pricey but I would love to go back and try their other soup bases!

Used to come here all the time in 2021- early 2022, like at least once a week, and it was my favourite spot to eat at. Came back after the summer break to see that there has been new staff than the previous ones. Disappointed to see that their service has deteriorated tremendously since then; particularly the two older women. The price also increased significantly since last year, and it doesnt help that the service is much ruder now. During one visit, I asked one of the two women for some water, and as a regular customer, she knows I usually drink a lot of water. She proceeds to angrily place a full jug of water on the table while giving me a nasty look. One of the younger male waiters, towards the end of our meal, then whispers his apologies to my boyfriend and I. On the second visit, both women were the only ones on the clock, and we came close to the last call, but still a good 10 minutes before then, and the same older woman considered turning my friends and I (only 3 of us) away before finally giving a table. When giving our orders and giving us our drinks, her colleague (the other older woman) did so in a rude manner. When we paid during last call, I decided not to tip as I have had recurring experiences of both women being very rude during my visits and during this one as well, and was quite frustrated about it. One of them reacted by crumpling the receipt and throwing it on our table, and then slamming the bill tray on the cashier counter when she went back. Her colleague then confronted my boyfriend at the end of the meal and mentioned that the prices (which I will say, is very expensive now) doesnt include tip; to which he replied that their terrible attitude is why we did not tip we usually tip during our visits, but not this time. Im incredibly disappointed that my favourite restaurant has become this way, and I wont be coming back again after this incident. Great food but terrible service, hope this changes soon.

We got their combo, which you can make your own noodles with a drink. I like their almond milk the most. Overall it is good if you dont like heavily seasoned food. We got their fish soup and chicken soup, the fish soup has a very strong fish flavor, I like it more. I prefer their thin rice noodles because it is more infused with flavour.

I order from this location, this restaurant almost weekly. Their service is always great, very friendly, and the food is always good. The dine-in experience is excellent as well, fast service, good atmosphere, I highly recommend trying the food here if you havent already. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options for noodles, however anything fried and battered cant be substituted as far as I know

I ve been going to Deer Garden for years in Richmond BC so I was happy when they opened up locations in Toronto. I ve never had any issues in BC but this was my second time visiting the downtown location and it will be my last. I ordered a beef brisket and bean curd noodle and the beef was definitely not fresh - it was dry and tasteless. It didn t taste off but I didn t eat most of it because it wasn t very good. Stuck to the bean curd and noodles. The broth was also not as flavorful as previous visits. When I went to pay, I asked why my bill was $27 for a meal that was supposed to be $17.99+tax. The bill showed I was charged for both toppings when the set includes the two toppings. The woman cashing me out had to check with my server who then said she had entered double toppings (even though I had just ordered one of each, indicating my choice with a check mark). The cashier removed it from my bill since I didn t actually order double toppings but I could tell my server was not happy, even though she made the mistake. Later that night I started to feel unwell and ended up realizing I had food poisoning. What came out when I threw up? The beef. It s been over 24h and I m still recovering but I won t be back because of the poor attitude from the servers (both visits) and the food poisoning.

The food was okay, but the attitude of the cashier or some aunt was really speechless. Went to eat with my friend. When we finally paid in cash and I was still calculating the money, she stood next to the table and stared at me, and then kept repeating that people who usually tip 10%, usually people who tip 10%. I was wondering if tipping is not voluntary. But we, a group of girls, didn t want to cause any more trouble, so we gave it to him anyway. In fact, she would tip even if she didnt say so. Its usually a habit, but it felt really bad to say it like this. I was completely speechless. Next time I encounter this kind of situation, I will directly retaliate (typically starting to regret my reaction after the incident). This is the first time I came to this store, but this person made me feel really unhappy.

Rice noodle average start from 17.99, We ordered 1 fish soup and 1 laksa, Laksa is so so but too much peanut butter Fish soup can only taste pepper and nothing. They use bubble tea cup for yuenyeung, the the cup leaked! We told the waiter and he just put our leaking cup into a new cup, so the yuenyeung still leaking to the new cup. Why don t just pour to new cup for us????

The make your own soup combo for $17.99 + 1.25? For milk tea is pretty good. Quite expensive but the portions are quite large, you can get at least 1 more meal out of it in a take out container. The tea was the best part for me Lots of options for broth and toppings, but I was disappointed with the peanut + chili broth. Neither enough peanut nor Chili flavour. Noodles were alright, meat was ok too but not what I would ve expected for the price. It s a nice place however in downtown that had great customer service especially since we came near closing time (not like 10 minutes before though) I do believe that they only do takeout after a certain time which is good and something to note down.

Order came quick. Food was very good. Had the beef brisket and tendon rice noodle in chicken soup. The brisket and tendon were so tender.

Create your own bowl of soup with many options to choose from and check off, from many different base soup options to tons of mix ins and noodles. Or select items off of the menu. The soups are delicious although the beef brisket option for adding in is often too chewy to eat, but otherwise overall very tasty.

September 23 Saturday around 5pm Toronto location, it was worse experience in my life in the restaurant. There are 1 general man and 1 lady worked there. The male was nice. The lady was very rude and unpatient at all. She seems she does not want to work and she does not want to give anything if you ask. I asked if I can get one plastic bowl for my kids and I can pay her extra fee. She said no and she said I should not come to the restaurant to eat. She was acting she is the owner of the restaurant. She wants the restaurant lose business /customers. She is not the owner of business as the way she acted. I believe she does not want more customers to come to restaurant so she can relax. I went there few times and the restaurant was not busy. I guest the restaurant does not have lots of customers because the lady provides bad service and she does not want customers come.

Very good value Chinese quick serve fish bone noodle spot located at Bay and College in downtown Toronto. We came here for lunch, there was plenty of seats available. Decor was up to date, restaurant was clean. Washrooms were also clean. Staff was quick and efficient. Ordered a custom noodle combo that comes with a complimentary hot drink, or you can upgrade to another cold or unique beverages. The braised pork tendon on rice was tasty as well, but the rice was a bit dry and it got oily from the pork tendon. Dietary restrictions: Lots of soup bases, noodles, rice and topping variations to chose from. There should be something for everyone.

Great experience at this downtown Toronto location of Deer Garden. We ordered a Malay laksa noodle and the daily special curry and fish. Food was well cooked and surprisingly better than my previous experience dining at the Richmond Hill, Scarborough and North York locations. It was a busy Friday evening but luckily there are lots of seats available. Given the downtown location it might be difficult to drive to and we paid for parking at a nearby office building. Definitely a great place to dine at if you re in the city.

Amazing. This franchise has been a favourite for me since 2017 and they never fail to disappoint. And I think it s about time I write a review about my all time favourite. They invoke that feeling of a home cooked meal with the warm welcome, clean layout, and food that always hits the spot. For any individuals looking for a dish that is soy, gluten, and dairy free try the Tom Yum soup, and make sure to check to remove the bean curd stick as shown below. For noodles you can go with the thick rice noodle or vermicelli. The owners have a good understanding of allergies, so feel free to ask as well! My partner gets their unique peanut and chilli soup base which used to be my favourite before I was aware of my allergies and now it s his consistent go to. I m pretty sure if he and I were to try other bases, we d probably have raving reviews for those as well.

The dine-in food is very good, but the packaging of the takeout looks like . It is obviously selling rice noodles and noodles, and the packaging box is a porridge box. I have made a note to change the lunch box after ordering several times, but it is not changed every time. This is the service attitude I hope I can keep doing it!

Portions are really good, but taste is nothing mindblowing. You can order takeout on the website or dine in. But the place is pretty crowded and busy for the most part so try to get there earlier.

It was not busy when we came. Good portions (in terms of noodles and toppings, soup not really), the taste is good, but a little bit overpriced. Drinks are cheap, especially if you buy a combo. People who work there seem hard-working and seem to have a lot of things to do (busy delivery and serving), so if there is something wrong with service, I would not take stars for that.

I had the Parsley and Century Egg soup with beef. I ordered it with an additional century egg but it came with just a regular one. Yes, I shouldve given it back but the order took a while and I was hangry. Food was alright.

A good noodles house right in downtown Bay St. HK & Taiwan style menu. Serving is a lot for one person. There s an option to make your own noodle item with lots of options for meat, vegetarian & noodle type and soup to your liking. All in all, a good spot to have your casual noodle craving. There are also the usual rice toppings being offered and they have daily specials from Monday to Friday only. Hot HK style lemon tea is a bit bitter for my liking but the cold tastes delicious.

The price is on the high side. If two people add the default 2 toppings, it will cost around 30 per person. The spicy chicken soup is delicious. The fried tofu skin is delicious. Recommended. Food is mediocre, fast service

Hong Kong style lemon tea is great, noodle was okay, vegetable was over cooked.

Unfortunately, with two exams tomorrow, I had diarrhea from Deer Garden and kept puking. My boyfriend had the same symptoms after eating it. I have to believe their food is not clean. Also, I was surprised to find that he didnt give me the beef balls I ordered in the rice noodles; they only gave one fish tofu to my boyfriend. Food portions are really getting smaller, but prices keep going up. Will not eat again.

Very dissapointed to find meat in my veggie curry. They told me it was vegan then slipped that in... disgusted and will never return

Worst service. Force you to pay for the tip by not giving back the change. We get ignored for 40 minutes when ordering food. The cashier s attitude varies for different customers:/

Going to Deer Garden in Richmond Hill was a routine for my family a number of years ago, so finding out there was one in Toronto was great. The food was just as good as I remembered it, service was quick, and our group left feeling very full and satisfied. Only thing I would say is since its a small location, it can be a little cold if youre sitting near the door.

Its a standard Deer Garden location. The sliced beef was good but the beef brisket was very thick and hard to chew. I wish there were smaller options as the portion is huge, equivalent to a large or XL bowl. Extra toppings are $3 which is great a bit for like two slices of spam...

Excited to see a location open downtown as this is my go to for a cheap and hearty meal! The price is more expensive than their uptown locations but I m assuming it s to account for downtown rent. Their noodle combo comes with your choice of 2 toppings (although they already include cabbage, mushrooms, tomato etc. depending on your soup) and your choice of hot drink (+$1 for iced). The serving size is very generous! There s a 5% discount for cash but beware there s also a 50 cents charge for take out orders.

Best healthy option on a cold chilly night in Toronto. Chefs are generous with portions. No MSG in soup. Best thing is that the create your own noodle combo comes with a free HK style milk tea or coffee AND option to get appetizers for a discounted price. Thank you Deer Garden for coming to Toronto. Can t wait to revisit.

This is the worst deer garden I have ever tried. I have tried deer garden in Vancouver and also North York and the taste was always consistent and great! However, this deer garden does not taste anything like the other branches. I tried this place twice just to be sure. The fish broth tastes so plain, diluted, and lack any fish flavor. you can tell from the color of the broth. its more of a darker color than white. First time, I ordered Pork Offal with Rice in Pepper Fish Soup- no pepper taste at all, and the soup base was brownish and tasted off. A week later, I ordered the regular noodle combo, the soup base was the same as the first time. So the recipe at this branch must be different from the others. Price is also more expensive than other deer garden. Though itd be okay if the quality was kept the same... Very disappointed. I wonder if this store is really related to other deer garden. Or, if overall deer garden has reduced their quality...

This location went above and beyond to accommodate my peanut allergy, going so far as to remake my order to ensure it was safe. Thank you!

The food isnt bad. Its the service. The noodle combo says that a tea is included in the combo, but when I asked the lady just harshly responded that its for dine in only. In pandemic time, no one is dining it. Either lower the price or take it off the sheet and kindly explain that it is only dine in. The service has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Im so pleased they opened a deer garden so close to me! I had the tomato and pumpkin fish soup and the flavours and topping quantities were very consistent with the scarborough location and north york location. There s also 5% discount if you pay with cash! Will return again.

Good portion of popcorn chicken as a side order. Porkchop is delicious as the special.

I guess the photo tells everything. I had a piece of plastic straight out of the beef brisket curry, called in to let them know, no apology or saying that they would check, just told me that they would refund the dish. This location is probably the worst among all the Deer Gardens. First time I had curry here, they forgot to put salt in. Next time, I went to order take out. I let them know that I would be waiting outside (due to covid restrictions). It was minus degree that day, thought that someone would inform me when its ready. I waited for 20 mins until it was too cold for me, went in and saw the food has been sitting there for a while. I didnt write about the first two experiences previously because I understand that it could happen sometimes. However, when it comes to hygine and food safety, I have to post here.

Id say it is a 4.5 star Deer Garden. -0.5 :They somehow dont taste as good as the one in Time Square, Scarborough and North York (tried them all, best one is time square btw). Nonetheless, the location is clean, food is decent and takeout service was rapid with fast phone ordering.

I have been to two branches of finch/don mills and silveblvd. This dt restaurant made me very disappointed. The noodles and pho were overcooked. The attitude of the waiter was indifferent. I will not go there again.

This one was the worst deer garden I ve been to. I usually go to the Scarborough/Richmond hill one and it always hits the spot. However this location s broth was bland and tasteless, it was completely watered down and much more expensive than the uptown locations.

The make your own noodle soup bowl and it was delicious! I chose a laksa base with rice noodles, fish balls and brisket. A side of popcorn chicken was fried to perfection. Highly recommend!

Noodles were too Soft, soup is good but salty, which is fine for noodle soup, needed more Aroma. HK tea was good. Would come back again when I need a fix

Asked for cold lemon tea brought hot. They missed the topping for both of us. Put pork skin on my soup though emphasized that i dont eat pork and also DID NOT CHOSE from the topping. Overall terrible experience! Two stars because they were nice!

Ordered their weekday special - Chicken teriyaki on rice. And it was absolutely delicious. They were very generous with their portions, especially for such an affordable price. Any students who are looking for a great lunch should come here.

Excellent food and portion for the cost

The service attitude is pretty good, but the food quality is really not that good. The curry has no curry flavor at all, the braised pork rice is basically meat for meat, rice for rice, the salt crispy chicken is not evenly coated and does not have the smell of a nine-story pagoda, so it is not very fragrant. Deer Park in Toronto is a long way from Vancouver. Hope it can improve in the future

I ordered takeout twice and came here specifically to write a good review. It was delivered half an hour after ordering. It was delicious, piping hot, large and meaty.

i ordered a rice noodle soup to go. When I got home, I realized they gave me a full bowl of rice instead of noodles. Then I called the restaurant, they said they will credit me for $1.5 for next order if I ever go back to their store. I can t image me going to this store and explaining the previous experience again to redeem for 1.5 dollars. I d say it was a horrible experience with horrible customer service.

Following covid protocols Good food, with exception that its too salty which is not healthy and covers other flavours of soup. Noodles are cooked inconsistently as its sometimes too soft. Usually okay. Wonderful servers though. They respond quickly, and in friendly manner.
