This place isn't Oriental Taste! Webpage, Menu, and Phone are for the old Queen St. location. But "Oriental Taste" on Queen St. closed years ago. My friends, family and I were regulars. Food WAS good and the owner's really nice.- Excited to see online they had opened again... Anyway, ordered a few of their dishes - AWEFUL not even close to the old dishes. The meats dry-rubbery, flavorless, not even compairable. - - Also noticed the "new addres" is the address for a Peking Express - 217 Parliament St, Toronto, ON M5A 2Z4 ?
I've been ordring here for years. Now they have a "New Menu". It's just like the old menu except that they fill their meat dishes with broccoli, and you get literally half the meat. Doesn't say that on the menu! Such a shame - the sad thing is that they think they're being clever. Called and complained, they didn't care. Don't order here - just not worth it.
=== WARNING === Their online ordering doesn't work through their website, so make sure you phone instead. Other than that frustration/confusion, I've eaten/picked up here 4-5 times now and it's been consistently very good. Always the same people working, always friendly, decent little bar for watching the game on Saturdays. The food's nicely priced and has yet to disappoint. Glad to have this place near home.
What a wonderful place to grab food, their fried rice is absolutely amazing and some of the best I've ever had. This is a go to place for me whenever I'm hungry. The staff is amazing and so is the chef so if you're looking to order I'd recommend 10/10 times
The service was fantastic-- friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. We ordered the mussels in black bean sauce, fried tofu and mixed vegetables in oyster sauce, and on recommendation of the server, the Mongolian chicken. It was all delicious, well-cooked, colourful. I'm definitely coming back.
Regardless of what others may say against, I keep coming back to this restaurant. One, the food is good. Two, the price is reasonable. Three, the staff is welcoming and friendly. I particularly love the fried chicken and fried rice. Noodle is also favorite. As I've been saying through the years, the fried chicken here is the best!
I wish that we could rate this restaurant, however, the amount of time it took them to deliver the food ( over 1.5 hours ) after peak hours ( 10pm ) combined with the irate employee that we called to understand the ETA, who hung up on us, screamed at us and blamed us for traffic and construction, has prevented us from even trying the food. The customer service is horrendous. Don't bother.
I'm not usually a big fan of "Chinese" food but the chef at Oriental Taste ( Jackie ) knows what he is doing and does a splendid job. Great presentation and a balanced hand with the spices results in an enjoyable meal every time. The staff are really friendly and they also host a Tuesday night Blues Jam that is attended by some really fine players from all over Toronto A++ Highly recommended
Sadly this place is closed but is missed by all of the neighbourhood great family great Times if you would like to order from here I suggest you get time machine thanks for teasing everybody google
There was a confusion and the order was cancelled they were about to close and instead of just cancelling the order they fullfiled it with the most polite customer service!!

Ordered some Chinese dishes for takeout. Food was bland and tasted generally stale.

Disgusting, the portion was horrible and it tasted like garbage it came up to special #10 came to 9 dollars and I regret even thinking about ordering from here. Dont do it, I was craving Chinese and should have settled with something else. Horrible, it was borderline raw my stomach is turning.
I made an online order and I have the receipt to match and my dinner never came, this is over a week now. Fortunately I never paid with my credit card.
I have not even eaten the food yet, but that will not hinder me from writing a review. The phone staff was great. Spoke wonderful english and very helpful.

Okay this place is HORRIBLE!!! DONT EVENER ORDER DELIVERY!!! I just ordered delivery and they were missing two of my items and so I called back saying I didnt get my noodles or wings and he said I didnt order them, I think I know what I ordered! Then he said he will bring the order and again he bring the wrong order and ask me for extra money and now half of my family left starving! What a nice dinner. The people who take orders do not even speak English and says Im wrong.. Im sorry I understand you have a language barrier but can they at least hire someone who doesnt and knows what they are doing!!!! SO DISAPPOINTING....
