Taste of Yunnan, China and start an extraordinary journey for your palate.
This is the second time I have come to this restaurant, and they never disappoint me. The noodles are free refill and noodle soup is sooooo good! I first ordered a Szechuan noodle soup, the spiciness is great. The second one is hot and sour soup, lovely dish with perfect balance between spicy and sour taste. They have tons of meat and topping aside of the noodle in soup: sliced meat, enoki, crabstick, quail egg, shrimp, and vegetables. No idea how much it is at first! The size is big too, for an Asia girl it could be up to 4 serving size. Their service is wonderful. My friend is Moslem and when she ordered a pork-containing dish the waiter clarify the order and told the pork contain. Overall very satisfied!
Portions here are massive, I ordered the dry marinated beef noodles and it was to my tastes. Some garnish of green onion or such would’ve been a nice addition. They have a large menu with noodles, rice dishes, cold sides, and boba as well. Will try other items next time.
The Szechuan Pepper Fish Rice Noodle Soup and Mixed Fruit Green Tea were both amazing! Great food, great service—definitely worth a visit!
My mom and I recently visited this spot after a day at the Art Gallery, hoping for a cozy lunch. We decided on the lunch special, which came with generous portions perfect for sharing. The mushroom soup was the only vegetarian option available, so we went with that. It was wonderfully flavorful, with a rich, comforting taste that we both really enjoyed. However, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed by the limited vegetarian choices on the menu; I wish there were more options to choose from. On a positive note, the service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcomed throughout our meal. The price was also quite affordable, especially for the portion sizes. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I’d love to see an expanded menu that caters more to vegetarians.
The food is really good. I ordered a super spicy rice noodle soup. I thought I could take it, but I ended up with cough so loud. The girl called Mia helped me so much with it. She gave me water twice. She explained to me that it's common when people takes the spicy noodle soup. She makes me feel better when she said that. She also introduced me their free special. She is so friendly and works so hard!
DO NOT COME HERE OR ORDER DELIVERY!! The food quality here is VERY concerning. I ordered the Hainanese Chicken rice, which is said to be one of their most popular dishes on the delivery app. I found that there was a long hair in my food AND the rice is definitely not fresh… the chicken tastes weird too. I can’t believe what people will do just to make money. I’ve never written such a negative review— This business should not exist.
Food is ok. Not the greatest to be honest. Had much better hainanese chicken rice before. We ordered the sauerkraut fish. Wasnt the best experience either tbh. Fish were a bit chewy to our taste. But service and place was great though!!
Tasty Yunnan style rice noodles in Chinatown. The soup was spicy just to the right level and the server was very friendly. She asked to refill our water without asking and also mentioned a few times about the free refill noodles. The only thing taking away that one star is the dishes felt a bit light on protein, but hey the noodles were reason priced so definitely worth it.
Good deal, good food, good service.
Charlie did an excellent job
Came here with my husband and we shared one tomato beef soup with added lamb rolls. It filled us both up. It was delicious and exactly what we needed on a cold day. It is also a good price. Will be coming back. Dietary restrictions: Note that broths are pork based except for the tomato and mushroom (would recommend the tomato)
I ordered soup with rice noodles, it was really amazing for the price that you are paying. Worth every penny and worth trying. Dietary restrictions: They have options for people with dietary restrictions. Talk to your waitress for letting her know beforehand.
Not fresh
Dietary restrictions: They factor in your allergies. Food
The waiter recommended the new lunch special, which is a great deal. Black pepper chicken chop rice and soda are also included
bad restraint
Love the tripe rice noodle soup
Kimchi beef noodles 10/10
Although its a bit salty, if you want to eat something hot here, this restaurant is good enough. The environment is also clean. I also love jelly.
The taste is average, the rice noodles taste very bad. I ordered a pickled fish rice noodle with very little fish, a few vegetable leaves, and half of them were messy lunch meat mince and corn kernels.
Delicious food, affordable price, friendly service.
Free rice noodles, all you can eat, economical and affordable
This place is amazing!! It s a cozy yet well-rounded restaurant with probably the best service I ve had. The food is amazing and the price is pretty fair, and the speed is better than most restaurants I ve been to. Food is fresh and the workers serve up both smiles and smiles to my stomach If eating over 5 stars was an option, I d no doubt do it! AND THEIR TOFU IS STAR SHAPED!!!
Food was excellent, service was good too and the quantity is too good according to the price.
I recommend kimshi beef soap
Great inexpensive place to grab a bite to eat. Very tasty broths.
Ginger/Garlic/Onion sauce and the Hainese Chicken were out of this world. The service was fast and very good. Food : 5/5
I like the chicken rice here
Chance encounter but exceeded my expectations! Have not been to Chinatown for many years so today we came here for lunch. We walked into a restaurant, a dumpling place, to be told that it is cash only! So we walked into the next door Yunnan noodles, expecting the cross bridge type. Instead, they serve the hot stone bowl , all pre-cooked! There are many flavours of the soup base. I ordered the Malay laksa flavour. My wife ordered sour cabbage fish. Both are delicious with a lot of stuff in it!
Delicious cross-bridge rice noodles, the rice noodles are smooth and chewy, and the fried egg is soft and tender
Good service
Beef rice noodles but barely have any beef only canned meat and garbage crab sticks, the sauce also tastes like ketchup with water.
after being in China for a dozen years, I really missed Chinese food. This is the best Yunnan noodles Ive found in Toronto for this moment))) And very friendly staff 5 Food
My new favourite noodles shop!!
Fair price, good taste, good service, clean place, comfortable seating, cash 20%off now till 2024, February 24th
Had lunch there this Wednesday. Food is mediocre at best, honestly think this places high ratings are fake. Its not worth it. Worst thing is that the staff would talk shi about customers in Mandarin, which is very bad for the business and it makes people uncomfortable, maybe they just assume people dont understand them (Im white). Definitely will NOT return, Id much rather go to any other Japanese ramen places in DT, at least they offer normal service and would be polite.
The soups are delicious and very large, excellent value for money. The waitresses are very friendly. Totally recommended.
Cozy Chinese noodle place. Food is alright. Not bad, not impressive. The waitress forgot one of our orders. No apologies, nothing was provided. Typical Chinese restaurant service.
I would give them 5 stars but my fish maw and chicken noodles had no fish maw :(
Good food, good price. Comfort food on a cold day.
Delicious food, good price.!
Great food
Best place to eat a delicious meal . The service is awesome I love it Food
absolute great!
Nice quiet place for lunch. Nice servers too. The mala noodles isnt that fragrant but very much edible. Noodle refills are free! XD Toilet is very clean.
Just like rice noodles Its not up to standard as a bridge rice noodle. The soup only tastes like bean sprouts. Whos the genius who came up with the idea of putting Italian sausage in the bridge rice noodles. Why dont you put your ingenuity into Italian food? Dont be afraid of rice noodles.
The taste is so-so, you can eat it as a light meal
Got the beef rice bowl with hotspring egg, I was craving a rice dish with beef and this hit the spot but was not as flavorful as I would have hoped. I thought the serving size was pretty generous. They also provided a complimentary corn salad which was a nice touch! The interior was really nice and clean and there was tons of seating and space. The service was sub-par. Our server was not very attentive, did not ask us how our meal was, and we sat there for some time before we got our bill. Not to mention we were the only ones there and when we finally caught our server s attention she spoke to us from behind the counter instead of coming to our table to ask us how we would like to settle our bill seemed a little unprofessional to have a conversation with customers from across the restaurant. Probably won t return.
Staff friendly and patient, afternoon tea combo , tasty and price is great
Top
The ingredients are generous and the soup is thick and mellow
Very nice place with a great atmosphere and nice staff. The food is ok, not the best but not bad. I tried the combo 6, which includes one huge noddle bow, a chosen cold dish (beef stripes), and a pop as 16$.
Was walking around china town and stummbled upon this Gem!! Great food the portions are alot and tastes great. Will be a go to spot from now on.
Unlimited noodles for only some of their entrees. Food is served hot and the soup is very flavorful. Reasonable price for what you get.
The menu shows several dishes and it was very difficult for us to choose but everything was good tasting and super sufficient. They give you water from the moment you enter. And they are very kind
Overall, we liked it!! The style is a little different from what we are used to in LA but it s a pretty good combination. The variety of broth is the key differentiator,: which 15 flavors to choose from (R1 to R15 in the front side of the menu), each with different degrees of spicy levels. We ordered R1 (original crossing bridge rice noodle soup) and R7 (Szechwan pepper fish rice noodle soup), both serviced with soup and noodles separately. We d put rice noodles into the soup which is what you re supposed to do with these Yunnan style crossing bridge rice noodles. (Originating story blow) R1/original: had a few slices of beef with flavorful broth that s on the lighter side. R7/a little spicy: had fish and the broth had Szechuan peppers so it had more punch but it was not too spicy. According to the waitress, both are served with the following items: Crab steak, Shrimp, Quail egg, Fish tofu, Mushrooms, Corns, Bean sprouts , Broccoli, and Ham. If you d like more, many items can be added as optionals. We weren t too hungry so we didn t add anything, the amount was just right. For people with a larger appetite, I d recommend ordering some cold dish or snacks on the backside of the menu, or add one or two optional items. Also, Price (as of 8/23) seemed very reasonable! Restroom: downstairs no handicap access, 4/5. Parking: Streets parking with the Green-P app. We were able to get a space right in front on a Saturday evening. Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, originating story: we were told, in Yunnan Province in China, while the husband worked in the field, the wive prepared the rice noodle lunch with two sides, one side with the rice noodles, the others side with soup and all other ingredients. Once the wife gets there, husband would put noodles into the soup, this way, the noodles won t be overcooked or soak up all the soup. The husband enjoys a delicious hot lunch with all the healthy ingredients. Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is accessible but restrooms are downstairs and I didn t see a lift so I don t think it s accessible.
The soup was tasty, portions were generous, and the price was extremely reasonable especially for such a central location Kid-friendliness: There was a high chair and a moderately noisy child in it when I was there. The atmosphere was relaxed nobody seemed bothered.
We ordered four kinds of rice noodle soups. All of them tasted good especially the pickled veges fish soup. Cold dishes are good too. Not too busy on a weekday night.
Good
Solid broth, good noodles, good portions. A staple for us when we get the craving.
Tasty food, good price Lots of f choices Food
The soup was spilled. . .
desrespect waitress and unprofessional staff
Broth is quite tasty, but appears to have MSG as I felt thirsty after. Noodles are refillable. Service staff are quite attentive. Food : 4/5
First time trying Chinese food I liked it
Tasty food and competitive prices
Staff was really nice and the food was fantastic!!!
Excellent food and service
I ordered takeout, and the intestines were really disgusting. It felt like I was holding a pig and eating it, which was very shocking.
It tastes terrible. It s extremely cold in the store.
Perfect on a cold winter day. Friendly staff and clean restaurant.
Excellent value, tastes great. Come often with friends who are actually addicted.
Pretty disappointing place.. really was wondering why the restaurant next door was busier.. anyways ordered hainese chicken and Korean crisp chicken.. but both were raw at some degree.. it seems they were in a hurry.. will not visit again..
The noodles were good, bubble tea was mid and its only a 4 star because they forgot about our order and we had to remind them
Delicious and cheap, my first meal in Canada
The Malay rice noodle soup is to die for.
Every single thing in my take out order was perfection. I ve not had a lot of hainanese chicken but from the limited options in downtown, this was just perfection! Including the sides rice and sauces. Also got the scallion pancake and cold shredded potato dish (has a mostly numbing taste but with hoisin it s perfect!)
Called to order tomato rice noodle soup which is definitely written in the menu. Arrived at the restaurant to pick up the food and was told that what I ordered is secret menu, and is needed to be charged the same as the tomato beef soup although theres no beef in it. OK, already upset but its fine. However, when arrived at home, the food wasnt what I ordered. its assorted rice noodle soup. how can they mess up when theres no other order placed in the restaurant at the same time? in addition, the taste is not as good as other rice noodle restaurant. its a very ridiculous experience I had compared to what I experienced at other restaurants. disclosure and carefulness thanks.
Excellent noodle soup but the price is not cheap between $11 and $15
Good taste. Should try.
Nice and polite kid serving us but restaurant ingredients not according as per origin. 1 is excusable but 2 or 3? Overall, tasty dishes.
Mala Beef Flank noodle soup is delicious and taste authentic, and order comes with plenty of protein! Server Nicole is very attentive and very kind. Store is clean and organized.
WOW! Took a chance and came here for lunch on a hot day. Its nice and air conditioned for comfort. Lovely decor, really nice and quick service. Relatively inexpensive for how much food you get. Got the Kim Chi rice noodle bowl. So flavourful, a little spice like the menu said but not overwhelming. Lots of veggies packed inside. Also got a side of Korean fried chicken. The sauce on it was INCREDIBLE! 10/10 Would recommend!
Food was alright. But service was bad. They never refilled water. A friend ordered his without pork and they put in extra ham and sausage along with shrimp which he hasnt ordered. Ordered refill noodles and took half an hour to bring over after asking a second time. The beef rice plate was great though.
I love the rice noodle it s so yummy
It was a nice experience
If you want to try some fresh and delicious noodles, come here, we love all types of food here!
I was hoping for dumplings but unfortunately they dont serve them. Their Korean snack chicken was a good though!
The tomato and fat beef rice noodles I ordered may not be a good choice. The soup was very bland and not fresh at all. It was tasteless. I will definitely not go there again next time! The only thing is that the rice noodles are free, which is good
The namesake noodles are a little on the bland side (especially if you order the default set without add-ons), but it hits the right spot. The only dish I didnt enjoy was the chicken rice - the chicken was rubbery and there was too much rice compared to the chicken portion. Ill be back to try the other noodle broths, but Id avoid the other items on their menu.
Good
Great taste. Great value.
The rice noodles are delicious and the food is served quickly. Not only rice noodles, but also rice, drinks, desserts, and side dishes are available. worth going
Not bad, portions are small though.
Food isnt fresh Add Italian sausage into rice noodle. Weird combination Food : 1/5
Not tasty. The rice noodles and chicken rice are not authentic and it tastes bland.
Excellent food! And great services. Good vibe
There is no problem in all aspects of service. . But this really isn t salty crispy chicken. . No, dont give it a hard sell. Its really too bad. .
The laksa was really delicious, I ll definitely order it again. The fried chicken had more batter on it then I like, the flavour was good though!
Ordered for delivery from Uber Eats and pick up many times in the last few months, really amazing value. Love the mala spicy noodles, and their sides.
Best Delicious rice noodles in Toronto
Dine in might be ok based on other peoples review below but their take out was not good at all. Their beef brisket is all tendon and skin and no meat.
Great customer service and delicious Chinese food!
Delicious food. Great service. Will definitely come back.
Delicious food. Quick and friendly service. Got the Sauerkraut fish with rice bowl (good amount of spice!!), and the Laksa noodle soup :)
I had the tomato soup noodle and a desert. It was so so. The soup tastes like ketchup. I didn t really get extra service rather than placing the order and get my food. Then the server asks me about tips?
The restaurants food was delicious and precautions on spatial awareness and bonus points for great air circulation! Overall, a decent substitute if you were trying to go to other rice noodle soup places. Note: we stopped by Shi MiaoDao for dinner time around 7-8pm with friends. Food-wise, we had the House Special Malay Laksa Rice Noodle Soup, Hot and Sour Rice Noodle Soup, Shredded Chicken and Shredded Potato. Following with the other reviews, agreed, the Laksa soup base was pretty good. The Hot and Sour soup base is not your average hot and sour soup youd expect. Its more on the traditional herbal style for hot and sour. We were also pretty full on the standard 1 service of rice noodle and didnt order any refills at all! The cold dishes of Shredded Chicken and Shredded Potato was not bad as well, although the potato could do for a bit more seasoning. Service was alright. The staff required a bit of flagging down which is okay. Since we were closer to closing time, the staff was a bit more casual with dishwashing gloves and grabbing your dishes in front of you. which I personally dont mind. They also take cash or credit for contactless interaction as well which is great.
Very fast and friendly service. I tried the Szechuan pepper fish rice noodle soup and crispy fried chicken bites. The noodle soup was served in an extremely hot clay bowl. The broth was flavourful albeit quite salty. The noodles were bouncy, slippery, and a lovely texture. The fish was delicious too. The Szechuan peppers added a great flavour to the dish. The fried chicken bites were not that good. The chicken was dry and the batter wasn t tasty or crispy. I would recommend this place.
always perfect
This was a very unique experience. I wasnt sure what to expect, but the food was delicious. It was a little spicy, but I would definitely recommend it. I will go there again.
Very good ramen. The noodles were succulent and the broth very flavorful. Very welcoming staff!
The most comforting hot bowl of noodles in Toronto
Tasty rice noodle, it s so delicious
Very delicious rice noodles, repurchase often
Yum!!
i rly like this restaurant, and the food was rly good
A very nice restaurant, I like the environment where i feel very comfortable, the service is very attentive, the waiters are very enthusiastic and friendly, the soup is delicious and not feel thirsty after the meal and the noodles are chewy, strongly recommend Szechwan pepper fish rice noodles, come here almost every day, here in the afternoon also get free Snacks and iced black tea, I can see that the owner is very attentive thank u every one the team of shimiaodao
Wide selection of food, good service
Food was mediocre. The worse part was servers gossiping about customers in Mandarin which is unprofessional. Not recommended.
FREE NOODLE REFILLS!
The food came to our table very quickly and it was good. Very affordable.
Yummy and affordable. Nicer decor than typical Chinatown restaurants. They have a happy hour special between 2 and 5 where you get a lemon ice tea and snack with your rice noodle soup.
Love it!
Good chicken rice, but the tomato basil soup tasted just like diluted pasta sauce. More effort can be put in to improve this simple dish!
Not literally 10 second but fast! Love the decor very comfortable, made come back many times.
The szechuan option was really good. Free rice noodles refill too
Got food poisoning from their chicken rice.
I saw this restaurant in Toronto and decided to give it a try since I missed eating Chinese food so much. The restaurant has such a cute design and the waitress was sweet and the food came out fast. I love how they give you the bowl of broth with the ingredients on the side so you add it yourself! The food was so good and I will definitely be coming back the next time I visit Toronto.
Delicious and inexpensive
They have good food and polite customer service. They are open to opinion and improve upon their feedback.
The containers are not that great. I ordered two bowls of noodles for delivery and both had spills with lots of soup at the bottom of the bag. Other than the packaging, the portion, price and flavours were good! Would order again and try another noodle soup.
Definitely 5 star restaurant!! Very authentic rice noodle. 5 star environment and 5 star service
Just perfect
Good service and cheap food
Decent food, nice service
The temperature of noodle soup was too low, which makes the meat cannot be cooked well even I dropped the meat first. It is because the waitresses were too busy and my meal is hold in kitchen for long time. This is a big mistake.
Love their Laksa Broth!! Must try :)! Make sure to go between 2-5pm for their promotion! Love the unlimited noodles!
Their afternoon tea special is great and totally worth it!
Tasty, spicy without being overwhelming, and good ingredients (spicy mala beef noodle soup). Service was a bit slow, but it was affordable and v good.
Good portions and wait time is not too long. Great for a quick eat for those in the area.
Nope. Disappointment. R6 Kimchi Beef Rice Noodle Soup - The soup was so sour that it overwhelmed everything. R9 Szechuan Mala Spicy Beef Flank Rice Noodle Soup - Oily. The sichuan peppercorn along with the oiliness just made this unappetizing. The only positive was that it came with quite a lot of tender beef flank. C3 Chicken Gizzard - The best of the 3 dishes but still not amazing. My companion and I spent the entire meal thinking of restaurants we could have gone to. In downtown, my favourite Yunnan rice noodle soup is still Dagu and in Chinatown, I would choose Fudao Noodle House.
Very tasty noodles. I tasted several plates of their menu, all of them were very delicious! A very good quality-price ratio!
Rice noodle is one of my favourite food, I almost tried all rice noodle places in GTA. And I have to say Shi Miao Dao is defiantly my favourite! The fish slides, the chicken soup base, everything is so fresh and delicious! Also, their service is superb! Once I told the waitress that I d like to have hot water instead of cold. Afterwards, every time I go there, they serve me with hot water! I would give them 100/10!
Hello, comfort food! My boyfriend adores this place. Says they do their tomato soup noodle set right. I prefer the original soup base, but I gotta say my highlight item is their Hainanese chicken. What does a girl gotta do around here to get some good chicken? Go here, thats what. I switch between the noodle soup set or the chicken set. Will never get tired of either dish. Would go at least once a week if I could. Love!!!
pretty clean and nice place. no msg.
food is good but the servers are speaking about us in mandarin. we asked to add one more item to our order and she was complaining to her colleague about it and we could understand everything. extremely unprofessional.
Delicious but Dagu makes a better Sauerkraut fish Noodle soup
Spontaneous find turned into a good dinner. We were actually going to get pho because it was very cold (plus the big snow the day before)and we were craving something warm and comforting. On the way we found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I don t know if they were understaffed, the service was slow and sporadic but the server was nice. They could accommodate vegan/vegetarian and change the soup base. I was given two soup choices for vegan version; tomato basil rice noodle soup and fresh assorted mushroom rice noodle soup. I chose the mushroom soup since the picture in the menu looked really nice. I was disappointed that my husband s dish came first then mine was brought out very late. Maybe my soup was served very late because they had to make the vegan version soup from the scratch?! I told him not to wait for me because his soup was getting cold and the raw meat needed to be cooked in the soup. When my soup was brought out later it was super hot so I had to cool it down a little. By the time I was able to eat the noodle soup my husband already finished his We also ordered shredded potato and scallion pancake to start. I don t know if they forgot one of the appetizers we ordered because when I asked about it the server said oh? . So the scallion pancake came lastly. The food was overall really good. The mushroom soup didn t look like the picture though. I don t expect it to be exactly the same but the two fresh shiitake mushrooms in the picture were nowhere to be seen in my bowl. My favourite was the shredded potato!! I have to say it was the best one I ve ever tried :D I would go back to try other dishes as well!!
I tasted some good soup, the detour is definitely worth it
This place is located in Chinatown across from the streetcar. This place is quite large with lots of space. Weve ordered the original pork bone broth soup noodles, and the hainanese chicken with rice. The broth is boiling when it comes out, and the stone remains quite hot for a while. But it is not super hot for much too long. It comes with a variety of toppings. It is comparable to other rice noodle soups in Toronto. The broth is very, very plain. I couldnt quite taste the pork flavour. And it is $1 more expensive than YunShang which is nearby. Both have unlimited noodle refills. The chicken is also super plain. It is tender, but doesnt taste good. And its expensive for the quality and quantity. It costs $11.99 with 7 pieces of chicken and rice. And the service is poor. The servers never pay attention to customers and try to avoid looking at tables to see if customers need anything. We never got our hot water we asked for at the beginning even though they took away the cold water that they initially gave us. Overall, I would not recommend coming here. There are better places and cheaper places.
Nice to see Yunnan s food here but they forgot Yunnan is a place full of minorities....there r some food restrictions applies too. They don t explain what in there dishes or soup base in the menu so u have to ask the servicer and let them check with the kitchen. Basically everything they have there is with pork...
Amazing noodle soup in hot stone bowls.
Interestly, I prefer thier rice dishes more than the rice noodle. Overall the quality of food is promised and the pricings are fine. A cozy place to have some quick chinese food.
Food is not as good as before, and the server charged the tips in the machine before I pay with card.
A unique noodle experience. You get a really hot clay bowl of noodles, which stays warm for a long time. Quite hearty.
Warm, tomato based rice noodle soups have a homeatyle feel. The ingredients were fresh and well presented, staff attentive and helpful. They were willing to swap out a quail egg for a piece of shrimp. I got the tomato basil, but I think they ran out of basil and focused on the tomato only. I got the red sausage add on, but it may have been a little stale.
