Visited Wok Theory 新天虹 in Toronto’s Chinatown, and it’s officially my go-to spot for authentic Cantonese food! The environment is clean, spacious, and perfect for family gatherings or even business meals. Must-tries: 🦀 Steamed Garlic Vancouver Crab in Lotus Leaf Rice – The crab is fresh, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the rice steamed in lotus leaf. Every bite screams umami. 🍲 Canton style chicken hotpot – A winter essential! The broth is rich and comforting, with just the right amount of peppery kick. The meat is tender, and the side of handmade beef balls is a delightful bonus. 🦐 Mango Shrimp Balls & Grapefruit Shrimp Balls – Perfect for those who love fruity, refreshing flavors. The mango version was my favorite! 🍳 Seafood Egg Tofu – Silky tofu combined with fresh seafood and a flavorful broth. A must for tofu lovers. 🥧 Salted Egg Yolk Bun – Soft buns with molten salted egg yolk filling—perfectly balanced sweet and savory. The best part? It’s super affordable! Two people can easily share a soup and a main for $20–30 per person. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-notch Cantonese cuisine in Toronto. 📍 Address: 530 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M5T 1H3

Went there for lunch on Sunday and it was packed! Had to wait 15 minutes for dimsum. Ordered the stir fried seafood vermicelli, pumpkin congee, youtiao, fried tofu, shrimp rice roll, soup dumplings and siu mai. Other than siu mai, the other dishes are all delicious and flavourful. There is a membership offer too but didn’t find it useful other than saving tea money.

This is a great place for casual Cantonese fare. We showed up at 15:45 and was told if I ordered Dimsum before 16:00 that there is a discounted price. I ordered steamed mushroom & pumpkin dumplings, chui chow dumplings, pork soup filled dumplings, and a noodle dish that is hard to find called “ handmade stir-fried silver pin noodles w/ shrimp”. It used to be more common in the 80’s. We also ordered from the menu, stir-fried gailan with garlic and ginger and rice noodles with chicken and black bean sauce. The restaurant was clean and very comfortable as the tables were well spaced apart. The food came quickly and was served freshly steamed/piping hot. The stir-fried dishes had that “wok hei” taste. We had Jackie serve us at our table and he was incredibly friendly and helpful. He also gave us complimentary tapioca & taro soup for dessert which is absolute favourite! I will definitely be back!

Service is quick and efficient. That's all you really need. Food is great and prices are quite decent. Book one of the VIP rooms for a quieter dining experience, but minimum spend is $188 in the private rooms I think. Some dishes are not available until 11am so keep that in mind if you come early. Great place, newly renovated, clean individual private washrooms, clean and modern dining area and easy access to street and Green-P parking

Came in on a Monday at 1pm. The restaurant was 30% full so we got a table immediately. They do not have chrysanthemum tea. Tea is $1.50 each person. Items are made to order. Interior is bright and modern. If you pay by cash you receive a 10% discount off your bill. They also offer a membership card for $20 which offers discounts and waives the tea charges. Majority of the items we've ordered, I enjoyed. Especially the chicken feet which I usually don't eat. My least favorite was their new seaweed crab roll which is fried imitation crab sticks wrapped in seaweed. You get 3 pcs with mayo to dip for $7.38. Not worth it. Also the short ribs were chewy. Service was friendly and items came out in a timely manner.

It’s a relatively new restaurant in China town. We had breakfast dim sum there. The service is good although not all the service speaks Chinese, which is okay with us. The restaurant is clean. Food is okay! Not bad in downtown dim sum standard. Portion is on smaller side. We love the squid and egg yolk buns.

I went with some friends to try this restaurant and it was delicious. We ordered the lobster covered with salted egg, the snow pea vegetables, fried rice, sizzling pork chops in a sweet sauce, oyster clay pot and to top it off there was sweet pumpkin soup for dessert. Overall, the food was very good, however, one waitress took my plate away with my lobster shells and didn't provide me with a fresh clean plate. So I had to discard the shells on the table. But definitely a good meal

This is a bright, clean and quite modern restaurant. The tables are spaced quite apart and the noise level was low in spite of the restaurant being busy. We had a variety of dim Sum. The food was excellent. It was not brought all at once so we were able to enjoy the dishes while they are still quite hot. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. We have been to many Chinese restaurants both in downtown and Markham for dim sum and we have enjoyed this meal the most.

One of the best dim sum places in Toronto. We ve been here a few times now and each time we have such a great experience. We get the usual but also try new things and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the siu mai, tripe, cha siu bao, spicy green beans, any of the noodle dishes, baked cha pork buns with the sweet crunchy topping, dawn taat, and the the list goes on. It s all good. The service is fast and very friendly. Will be back again and want to try the dinner menu.

Visiting from NYC and was told Toronto is home to some of the best dimsum outside of Asia. After some TikTok and Reddit reviews, I learned a lot (if not all) these gems are in Markham, which is about 30min from Downtown (where we were staying). Some reviewers suggested Wok Theory is nearly as good as Markham dim sum, so we tried our luck walking in midday on a Sunday. The place was quite busy, but we were luckily seated fairly quickly. Ordered an extensive amount of food for two people - Would definitely get again: XO Sauce Rice Rolls on sizzling plate - Probably get again: har gow, shrimp stuffed eggplant + jalapeño pepper. We had high expectations for the rice rolls and shumai, but was surprisingly flat. Would probably skip the soup dumplings altogether.

I went here with a friend. We always do dimsum before or after we shop together. Neither of us tried this place before. It looks nice at first until you see a giant fish tank with the saddest looking solo fish in there. Then we ordered a vegetarian taro dish. The dish came and i could tell the oil they used to deep fry was dirty. The taro was good but the fry tasted too oily and bad. It also had chicken pieces in it and was suppose to be vegetarian. We ordered the tofu which was just ok. We had to ask twice for hot sauce as the first person forgot. We also had to ask twice for the bill. This place needs to use better quality ingredients and have better service. Also please stop displaying depressing fish tanks.

Food is great, dim sum tastes exactly like what I had in Hong Kong. The shrimp tastes great especially. But the service ruined our dining experience. We requested desert, and asked that she wait a bit until we order, as we would like to read the menu and consider what to order. The waitress then snapped at us, and said that she doesn t know what we are saying, and that we should shut up. That was unnecessarily rude and made us very upset. However, we got a free dessert as apology, and again it tastes amazing!

Wow. I cant believe how many positive reviews there are! The dimsum was completely underwhelming. The dumpling skins were way too thick. Everything that wasnt steamed was drenched in oil. I was craving pan fried dumplings but there were just terrible. No crunch, just bland soggy oily dumplings with no sauce inside. I was really hoping for a good dimsum place in Chinatown... So disappointing...

Feeling a bit peckish and wanting dim sum while wandering around Kensington, we popped in here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Got a table right away. The dim sum was ok. Nothing special. Didnt like the soup dumplings at all as they had a too thick wrapper and some strange tasting spice no one at the table could identify. The pork ribs were ok, a little grey and tough but good flavour. Congee and squid were the hi lights. Again nothing special but well cooked and seasoned well. No condiments on the table at all and had to ask for soy sauce, vinger, hot sauce etc. Server seemed surprised we wanted them. Overall, service was attentive and the place was clean and modern looking. It just wasnt return worthy.

Atmosphere: The place was very spacious and clean. No strong cleaning agent scent like you find in other Chinese restaurants. Only real downside is that their AC is not very good. We visited on a mid-summer evening and it was quite hot and humid out, but it didnt feel much cooler inside the restaurant. We were sweating while eating which was quite uncomfortable! Service: The servers were not in any way rude, but certain things were off putting and could be improved. For instance, we were seated and not once offered any tea or water to drink. We had to ask them for some water when it came time to place our order 10-15 minutes after being seated. What was even more off putting was we ordered a dish off their new menu (which apparently was recently changed), but the item code was not updated in their system so the wrong dish came out. When we told them, the server was not at all apologetic and instead kept telling us that it was because the system is not updated to reflect their new menu and the item codes. They also never once offer to correct their mistake which was quite disappointing. However, not wanting to waste food, my friends and I just kept the dish that they brought out. Food: We ordered items off their dimsum and dinner menu which were not bad, but also nothing special. The dimsum items (i.e. soup dumplings, siu mai, rice rolls, etc.) were mediocre at best. The Chinese broccoli was done well (still nice and crisp when served) and the beef with broccoli was decent. The beef was very tender and broccoli was crisp. However, the beef and broccoli dish was lacking flavor compared to other Chinese restaurants Ive tried in Chinatown. We also ordered their coconut and pineapple chicken fried rice. Out of all the dishes we ordered, I would say that dish lacked the most flavor (we couldnt taste the coconut or the pineapple at all; it was very bland). Overall, the place is not bad, but I have had better Chinese food in and around Chinatown for the same price or even cheaper!

I went to Wok Theory with my wife for a Dinner and I have ordered Black Bean Sauce Chicken Fried Noodle. The portion is good enough for 2 person as it is in the dinner time. Atmosphere is good. Prices are reasonable. But, at the end of all, when I paid the bill server asked me directly there is no tip. It was so strange to me why they are asking for a Tip directly. As a student in Canada, they should have happy at least we are helping them to run the business by visiting there. Even though it created some bad experience to me, I will visit them again as it is not the Management or Food problem.

Had a very pleasant dining experience yesterday. This place is just over 1 year old and they seemed to already establish to be a sucessful restaurant. Food was excellent, price was resonable, service was very attentive, maintained both dining room & washroom very clean. I have never had a server came to the table to check on us to make sure everything was okay in any restaurants in Chinatown before to be honest. Was very impressed by attentive service. And most of servers spoke English fluently which was a plus. It also had a new generation vibe but was full of senior Chinese to have Sunday brunch which means food is authentic. 1. I would order anything in rice rolls form on a sizzling plate($11.88) again. Both short ribs rice rolls & rice rolls in XO sauce were great. 2. Stuffed eggplant & jalapeno($8.38) will be also must to have. 3. ST 8- Big 3 pieces of Chiu Chow style chicken & nuts($6.38) were really good. Dumpling was plump with lots of stuffing. There is 10% discount if you pay in cash. $1.50 each for teapot service. I will return for more food for sure.

I was skeptical because usually pleasant service, clean and modern interior, and a high rating are inversely correlated with quality of the food for Chinese restaurants. Not this place. It truly does everything well. I especially like how you can request less salt, oil and msg in the online ordering platform they use in the restaurant. The congee and dim sum were fantastic as were the sauteed choi sun. Portions were very fair.

As soon as we were seated they immediately brought over a pot of tea (without asking us or we asking them), giving the impression that it was complimentary... but it was not as in the final receipt, we were charged... i dont even enjoy hot tea in a hot summer noon. The best item was the 5spiced calamari, very very tasty but a small portion for the price so we reordered. Dumplings tasted okay but they were not hot unlike other places... tummy doesnt feel good the next morning, so I suspect stale or undercooked food. There is a waitress who didnt serve our table but she came over with the receipt and aggressively demanded high tip, even put her own tip amount in the payment terminal... while I didnt like her behavior, i dont like an argument or creating a scene over few dollars. There are plenty of restauarants in Chinatown and we wont come back to this place.

Love the try its dinner menu soon. After months I came back to this place for dinner, very disappointed. The food was reasonably good, the environment was still clean. But the service wasnt acceptable. We arrive at 9pm, werent the last table.the owner took our order and left before our food delivered, which is fine. But we waited and ask for the last dish, the waitress was insisted she delivered the last one. Walk back and forth, check around on the buss carriage, other tables. Our table only has four dishes only, I told her if there was the fifth there, she could see the marks. So finally she just charge for four, but not allow us to use the VIP card. I personally will not recommended this place for dinner

Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! Ive always been spoiled by the quality of dim sum in Markham, so I was pleasantly surprised by this new spot downtown! The classics like Ha Gow and Siu Mai are expertly made and with fresh ingredients, and their noodle/rice roll dishes are also full of savoury, smoky wok hei flavour thats quite difficult to find in Toronto. Siu Mai - Juicy, shrimp is crisp and had a tender texture, and the wrapper wasnt too thick at all. Pork flavour was full of umami. Ha Gow - Shrimp was fresh and bouncy with a distinct crisp, seasoned beautifully as well. The wrapper has a slight savory taste as well and wasnt overly thick, but was slightly too soft. Beef Tripe - Tripe was crisp and not overly chewy, salted well but ginger/scallion flavour was slightly muted but compliments the tripe well. Five Spice Squid Tentacles - Battered lightly and deep fried, colour is more pale than Markham places and is salted well, but a bit weaker on five spice. It was also really oily, and not the most tender. Curry Cuttlefish - Cuttlefish was tender with the tentacles being crisp, but the curry sauce was too thin and didnt really cling onto the cuttlefish, and needed more umami/salt. XO Sauce Rice Rolls on Sizzling Plate - Thick, smooth and soft pieces of rice rolls that will fill the hole in your heart. The smooth texture makes it easily slide down the throat, but also has a satisfying slight chewy texture thats contrasted with the crisp of the bean sprouts. On the oily side, but wok hei is super strong, charred nicely for that smoky flavour, plus the umami of the XO sauce, but wish there was a little more. Sizzling Plate Chinese Style Beef Tenderloin - Sweet and savory sauce that isnt as oily as other restos, with onions that are cooked to retain their crispness and soak up the sauce. Beef was quite tough though, cut against the grain yet still kind of chewy, and also bland without the sauce. - Good amount of wok hei, noodles arent overly oily and feel dry, beef is tender and has a moderate beefy aroma, cooked nicely to still retain a satsifying chew with crisp bean sprouts for texture.

I was surprised that there was dim sum being served at dinner but got something from the menu anyways. However, I did enjoy the sweet sour pork the most. It was crispy and flavorful. I understand how tips are important to servers but i hope you should be aware of that you re not supposed to force to customers tiping. Foods were ok, but the service was bad. I usually tip when I eat out, and I was debating to tip but eventually i didn t since I haven t found the reason I tip, but then when the server was done to check, she was checking the receipt and then she started to yell me so aggresively. I could have tipped if she asked me unaggrssively. Why do I have to tip to the rude one? I also work in customer services. On one hand I can understand it s kinda letting down when customers don t tip, but on the other hand tips are the way the customers express the respect for the servers, not the essential.

Visited for the first time today. Love how bright and comfortable the place is. Service was slow initially. The first dish came 15 min before the rest. So the first dish was already lukewarm when the rest of the dishes came. And then the kitchen messed up our fish dish - giving us the sweet & sour fish filet (see 2nd photo) instead of the whole fish we ordered. When we questioned if this was the correct dish, the server tried to get us to accept it as is, saying the whole fish was $30 and asked if this filet dish was ok. That wasnt the point - it wasnt the dish we ordered! He went back to the kitchen to check, then came out and said they were out of the whole fish, thats why they gave us the filet. Huh? Shouldnt they consult with us first? The manager/owner then came to apologize and admitted that the kitchen screwed up and said the fish dish would be on the house. So yes, they sort of redeemed and despite this misstep, gotta day that the food was quite delicious! We especially liked the eggplant with fried tofu and the hand shredded chicken .

We tried it thanks to the recommendation of our server! Service was great and fast. Our server even brought us complimentary dessert while we were waiting for take out after the end of the meal. Take out portion: The pork belly was amazing! The fatty parts melted in our mouths, sooooo good! The portion was generous as well. It was probably one of the best pork belly dishes we have ever had from a Chinese restaurant! The udon was tasty and so was the sweet and sour pork! Wish I had taken photos of all these wonderful dishes but we were too hungry

Food: Started off well with very tasty squid & good kalbi (says honey but not sweet) then it went downhill right away with reheated Dumplings, soupless soup dumplings, and cold rolls. Service: As per traditional dimsum style, there was no service. But they did very aggressively demand a solid tip. Atmosphere: Nice seats, good aesthetic. Wouldnt go back for sure.

I dont normally write reviews for chinese restaurants especially in Chinatown as none of them are any good. I never notice Wok Theory as its tucked away on the north west corner of Dundas and Spadina. This place is so modern, huge and clean. Ive been their several times since Ive discovered them for dim sum and dinner. They have an impressive menu of Chinese dishes and dim sum menu. Everything is served steaming hot, fast and the level of flavour is mind blowing. My family and relative refuse to go anywhere else for chinese food but there. Cant ask for anything more from a restaurant. Definitely try their xo sauce rice rolls and viet coffee. You wont be disappointed!

Yet another great location in downtown chinatown that does very authentic takes on classics. I ate here with a group of 6 and we really enjoyed their braised pork belly dishes as well as their sautéed eggplant and tofu. This place definitely has a cleaner and more professional vibe than your standard chinatown fare so it may be more approachable to those who dont usually eat around here.

Came here for dim sum. The selection is pretty small, prices are okay. Everything comes out piping hot which is great. There s no chilli in oil on the table so you ll have to ask for it, and they bring it to you in a little saucer. Quality of the food is not too bad, but I don t think we ll be back for the dim sum mainly because of their limited selection. The restaurant is very well lit, giving congee queen vibes. The bathroom is clean, service is great. We ll be back to try the wok stuff instead perhaps.

The mango pudding I ordered for my children over the weekend turned out to be sour. When we complained, we just took it off the order list and said sorry. The honey-glazed beef ribs and fried squid tentacles were actually cold. The ordering service was not attentive. There were three people on the table together with us. They actually ordered our cured meat rice to be chicken feet and pork ribs rice. In the end, they didn t even say sorry, they just said it doesn t matter and the price is the same. We don t eat chicken feet. How can this be the same? The whole table ordered one juice and forgot about it until the food was served. What kind of service and goods are these? I will never go there again, it s too bad.

Finally, good dimsum in downtown Toronto that doesnt cost an arm and a leg! All the typical dimsum dishes Ive tried here are tasty and great quality, but I would recommend the XO sauce rice rolls on a sizzling plate. I was less impressed by their non-dimsum dishes (i.e. XO sauce seafood noodles). Service is friendly and efficient. Not sure what their reservation policies are as I was told I couldnt make a reservation for my group (~10 of us) when I called a few days prior. But I just showed up a little before 11am on a Saturday and we had no issues getting seated. The restaurant filled up quickly though so Id make a reservation if youre able to, or go early! Ambiance is clean and modern, bathrooms are clean as well. 5% discount if you pay with cash, but the VIP card (costs $10 cash, good for a year) will give you a 10% cash discount and covers the tea charge for your table.

Menu was nicely laid out with a huge variety to satisfy every taste. We ordered a huge spread of our classic dim sum favourites for our first try. We enjoyed every single dish but standout overachievers were the supreme shrimp dumplings, steamed BBQ pork buns, XO sauce rice rolls on sizzling plate, Fukien style fried rice, Cantonese style chow mein and durian puff pastry. Portions are very generous, be prepared for leftovers. My wife was raving about the Vietnamese cold coffee as it paired up so nicely, I enjoyed a coke ice cream float as well. Restaurant is nicely busy on a weekday too which is a testament to the quality of their authentic food and service. We would definitely return!

Beef ho fun was flavored well but didnt have wok hey. They have fried durian puffs and egg yolk sesame jin deui which was great. Will come back again to try the other dishes. The menu had all the classic Chinese dishes from fried noodles to dimsum so we selected a variety in our take out order. The Honey Glazed Beef Short Ribs was our favourite because it has that char flavour that reminds you of summer bbqs. The Beef Fried Rice Noodle was our second favourite. It has the wok-hei flavour of authentic fried noodles so that none of the noodles stick together and juicy slices of beef. The third dish we ordered is the Snow Pea Leaves with King Order Mushroom and it s not our least favourite - I just didn t have a chance to taste it yet because I was already full from the noodles. My husband tried it when we got home and he also loves this dish. The sauce looked very saucy and would go well with rice.

The Scallops and prawns in XO sauce was quite disappointing, was not expecting such an expensive dish to be prepared with little effort. I thought they had forgoten that dish. The food was all good only small thing I didn t enjoy was the sesame rice balls pastries as the filling with custard was very scarce plus having our pastries coming out mid meal compared to wanting our dessert at the end when we finished the rest of our meal. Otherwise great spot for Chinese cuisine or dimsum. I hate to give negative reviews. This place was nicely renovated and it was such a shame that I got diarrhea after eating there. This is unacceptable for a food business. I tried this place once when it was just opened. The service was minimum but the food was OK. When I went there again in the late afternoon this Saturday, I had the worst shrimp dumplings in my life and got diarrhea in the evening. The shrimp dumplings didn t smell bad but the texture tasted so weirdly squishy that I had to request a replacement. (The servers were nice to replace it and waive the charge.) However, the one that I swallowed apparently was enough to upset my stomach. After I got home, I not only had diarrhea TWICE but a stomachache that didn t go away completely until the next day I should have seen the signs when the shrimp dumplings arrived oddly cracked! Something or someone must have done terribly wrong in the kitchen!

By and large, most of the menu is not from boxes you can get in bulk order at T&T, and you can taste the difference. This husband and wife duo are doing their very best to share what theyve learned from the kitchens of thwir families back in the old country rather than the commercial kitchens of...everywhere else. I dont usually write restaurant reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience at this Chinese restaurant. Honestly, I cant recommend it unless youre willing to overlook some serious hygiene issues. Let me newly give you some context. One day, while walking down the street in search of a place for lunch, I was drawn to the front of Wok Theory. Its renovated appearance gave me the impression that this restaurant stood out from the others; I thought it would be clean and well-maintained. However, as soon as I sat down, I noticed that the eating utensils were visibly dirty, with clear traces of grease and food residue on spoons, cups, and other items. It suddenly made sense why I often see Chinese people washing their utensils before eating at Chinese restaurants. Although the taste and presentation of the food seemed decent, and the servers were pleasant, which distracted me from the dirty utensils, the worst was yet to come. Everything changed when I visited the restroom and took a curious glance into the kitchen. What I witnessed disgusted me. While the kitchen seemed clean at first glance, it was evident that the kitchen staff lacked basic hygiene practices. Dim sum containers were carelessly placed on the kitchen floor, raising doubts about their cleanliness. I distinctly remember a kitchen staff member, wearing a black cap and glasses, handling the yellow dumplings with bare hands. Food orders were casually placed on top of cooked noodles and rice, disregarding any concerns about cross-contamination. Furthermore, I observed servers reusing takeout containers that had fallen onto the floor without bothering to wash them. However, the most appalling incident occurred when I saw a staff member pick up food that had dropped on the ground and place it back onto a plate as if nothing had happened. This single act made me question how frequently this had occurred before and how many unsuspecting customers had been served with such clean food. It seems that in this restaurant, as long as they think no customer sees it, everything could be done. I felt completely deceived by the restaurants appearance. Its disheartening that despite the promising exterior and seemingly delicious dim sum, the lack of proper hygiene practices in the kitchen tainted the entire experience. I cant overlook such blatant negligence. I strongly urge others to exercise caution if theyre considering dining at this establishment. The following is a Chinese translation for reference by those who do not understand English: I dont usually write restaurant reviews, but I felt the need to share my recent experience at this Chinese restaurant. Honestly, I cant recommend it unless you can overlook some serious hygiene issues. Let me give you some background. One day when I was looking for a place for lunch on the street, I was attracted by the appearance of Wok Theory restaurant. I was struck by its newly renovated look and I thought the restaurant would be clean and well maintained. Although the taste and presentation of the food looked good and the waiters were pleasant, which made me ignore the dirty dishes for a while, the worst was yet to come. As I went to the bathroom, I glanced curiously at the kitchen. What I saw disgusted me. Although the kitchen seemed clean at first glance, it was obvious that the kitchen staff lacked basic hygiene practices. Snack boxes were left haphazardly on the kitchen floor, raising questions about their cleanliness. I clearly remember a kitchen employee wearing a black hat and glasses touching yellow dumplings with his bare hands. Food orders are placed haphazardly on deli noodles and rice with no regard for cross-contamination issues. Additionally, I saw waiters reusing takeaway boxes that had fallen on the floor without washing them. However, the most shocking scene occurred when I saw an employee pick up the food that had fallen on the floor and put it back on the plate without hesitation, as if nothing had happened. This scene made me question how many times this has happened before and how many unsuspecting customers have been served such clean food. It seems like anything can be done in this restaurant as long as they think no customers are seeing it. I felt completely deceived by the appearance of the restaurant. Although the exterior looks attractive and the snacks appear to be delicious, the lack of proper hygiene in the kitchen ruins the entire experience. I couldnt ignore this glaring oversight. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering dining at this restaurant.

First time here, food was decent and place is very nice and clean. I was thinking about coming back another time to try the dim sum but when I was paying the bill my experience turned upside down. They charged us a difference price from what was on the menu. One of the items was 30% more than the price that was on the menu. The waitress kept giving excuses saying it was an old menu and the price has changed long long long time ago. Isn t this a relatively new business? and if you are not willing to print new menus you should still mark the price changes on the menu. In this environment everyone is very sensitive to price changes. In the end the manager did correct the price for us which I appreciate but the way they kept giving excuses and seemed unwilling to adjust the bill for me was very unpleasant. When I check online menu it s still the old menu. I cannot cannot find the new menu anywhere. So be careful when you order. It might be a difference price.

My new favourite dim sum spot in the area! We got here a bit late and were not initially given a dim sum menu, so assumed they had stopped serving it. After speaking with staff, they let us know we could still order, and we were really glad we did! Firstly, the prices were very reasonable for much higher than average quality food. I really liked that they had a pork rib and chicken feet over rice dish. While it took a little longer to prepare, the ability to just have a couple of pieces of chicken feet instead of an entire order was great. Their fried squid had a wonderful exterior crunch and spice while the interior was still soft and fresh. The siu mai also had some bounce which let us know it was pretty fresh! I didn t see that they had rotating new menu specials displayed on a TV near the front until after we d already ordered. So make sure to check that out when you first arrive. This combination of well made classic dishes and rotating specials will ensure we come back here often and maybe even get the membership!

i ordered take out today and found the prices are fair and the food is delicious. the shrimp dumplings and shrimp rolls were fried to perfection and filled perfectly 9/10. the bbq pork buns were very good and just a step up from the rest ive had in the city 8/10. the dough fritter rice noodle roll was awesome, the fritter is fried just enough that provides a nice crunch 8/10. the chicken feet had some of the best flavour ive ever tasted and the skin was nice and juicy 9/10. the tripe was excellent, steamed perfectly with a great bite and chew 9/10. the beef balls were great and the corn at the bottom was a nice touch 8/10. fortune cookies are always a nice treat as well, that was a cool surprise!

New lowkey restaurant that needs more praise! Food was delicious, service was fast and the area is very clean! You can tell theyre a family owned business trying to make it here. I hope they do well. Ill definitely be back. Theyre open late and do all day dimsum. I signed up for their membership program because it was so worth it. Edwin, one of the owners I think, was very pleasant. I was happy with my experience, the modern interior is a difference from the other restaurants, if they had a dimming option on their lights for night time that would be nice because it can be harsh on the eyes. Also, to have a competitive edge to the other restaurants in Chinatown - either some sort of rotational promotions or student specials to draw the student crowds. Rooting for yall! Jiayou

The Fujian fried rice is super delicious. There are many kinds of seafood toppings on top, all of which are fresh and sweet. The fried rice below has distinct grains and the smell of the pot, which is super fragrant! The random order of tamagoyaki tofu rice rolls was also surprisingly delicious! Come again next time!

We had beef rice rolls, shrimp dumplings, and congee. Overall taste was okay but very disappointed with the abundant amount of MSG they put in all the dishes. The service wasnt great...one of the waitress was actually rather rude and just ruined our dine-in experience.

Probably one of my favorite Chinese restaurants on Dundas! Love the cleanliness of the restaurant, friendly staff and the quality of the food. Everything that we ordered had wok hey , if you re Cantonese, you know what I m talking about. As such, I highly recommend their stir-fry dishes! Can t wait to come back to try their dim sum over lunch time. They also have private dining rooms as well if you ever want to have business dinners here.

We had to make complaints because the sound servers clearing the dishes was way too loud. It was hurting my ear badly. The other employee also vacuumed which made loud noises as well while we were waiting for food to arrive. After we complained the server tried not to make too many noise handling dishes. Thanks for making the changes, we were gonna just make it to-go if it continued to be so loud. The good food made up for inconvenience. I wish the service is less dismissive when handing over card machine. I felt it was a bit rude. Not sure if I want to return.

A breath of fresh air when it comes to Cantonese food and dim sum in particular. If youre looking for some old-school Southern Chinese/Hong Kong food, look no further. They excel in tried-and-true favourites like beef fried rice noodles and congee, but they also have a great selection of dim sum items. The price will not be as competitive as places like Sky Dragon across the street, but you wont have to put up with dirty dishes or the smell of cigarette smoking coming from the kitchen.
