Enjoy eclectic tunes from sultry hip-hop to rock, complemented by carefully crafted cocktails and mouth-watering bites. Join us for a night out that seamlessly blends tranquility and invigoration.
Had a fantastic time with my friend! The atmosphere was great, the drinks were delicious, and the food was spot on. Our server, JJ, was amazing—friendly, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. Thanks to JJ, the night was even better. And the bartenders and other servers were very kind and amazing people!! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!
Gorgeous place to get sloshed at. Went here during their happy hour and the prices were amazing! The cocktails were okay tbh. Good enough for the happy hour price. Staff was really attentive and friendly. The place itself is nice. Got some cute pics out of it.
Cocktails were okay but not standout. Service was reasonable. A few times the server went MIA but she was nice. We shared a cauliflower dip which was terrible. Lacked seasoning, texture was off-putting and just not a great dish. I liked the DJ and the atmosphere was pretty good.
Nice bar with mediocre food. Great cocktails during happy hour. Go for drinks, not for dinner.
Came for the @KumainKitchen takeover and the food and menu was amazing! Had the lechon kawali, manila clams and veggie lumpia, pinoy chicken skewer, ube french toast, and cannoli! The space is really nice and the music is really fun! such a great time!
One of the best places in the city. The vibes are amazing. The DJs are ALWAYS the best. I went there alone and the bartenders and GM were so cool, so nice and welcoming. The chandelier was something out of a movie. Food was tasty especially the brussels sprouts. I will definitely be recommending and coming back!
This was one of those places where you get seated and maybe 30 minutes in, you just know you have to leave this place a solid review, so here’s mine: Right when we walked in we were greeted by the host she was very nice, she then started to walk us to our seats, but we noticed the bar had open spots so we asked if we could sit there and she kindly seated us. Bartender serving us for the night was great, really added to the good vibes this place already had. Watching him create our drinks was cool too. Honourable mention has to be the cheese burger. Hands down top 3 burgers I’ve tried in Toronto and I’ve tried a lot of them. For a bar this burger blew it out of the water, I was amazed and so was my partner. She had the mushroom toast which we both enjoyed as well. Overall great place, must try spot to visit for a date night, or even a night out with friends. Will not regret it.
Good vibe. Very mediocre food and drinks. My friend and I tried atleast half the menu. It was well cooked but just… meh. Items you can get anywhere. Brussels sprouts. Karaage. Octopus. Ceviche. Not memorable at all. Nor were the drinks…. After ordering 2 of their most popular I gave up and ended up drinking wine. By 10pm you couldn’t hear one another across the table at all. Good choice of music but just WAAAY too loud.
Great place to share some food and have some nicely made cocktails. Our server J-Jay was top notch and really went above and beyond. Thank you to the kitchen for the incredible food, and their whole team for making the evening as amazing as it was. Cheers
Music was good. Food was pricey and mediocre. Service was awful. Stayed there for four hours and saw my waitress around 4 times. 20% autogratuity was automatically added to the receipt and was still handed a credit machine to include a tip when paying. Waitress did not mention the tip was already included as well, so ended up tipping more than she deserved. Will not go back.
Not quite what it s advertised as. Very small. Unfortunately, the drinks were disappointing, but the music was enjoyable, adding a good vibe to the experience.
I recently visited this restaurant on the Ossington strip, and it s definitely a spot I d recommend! The atmosphere was amazing great music that really set the vibe for a fun night out. The menu had plenty of unique and delicious options, and everything we tried was top-notch. The only downside was that the dessert I was most excited about the tres leches wasn t available that night. A bit of a bummer, but it didn t take away from the overall experience. All in all, an awesome place for drinks with friends. I ll definitely be back (hopefully for that tres leches next time)!
Beautiful space. Friendly staff but slow service. Was there for brunch and the food was decent.
Really cool bar with a rotating pop up kitchen. We came during the Filipino kitchen month and the food was spectacular
Great place and great service. Highly recommended!!!
Starting with the service: everyone is welcoming and high level of standards Atmosphere: unbeatable location, interior design is awesome and the place itself is fantastic Food and drinks 10/10: fresh, high quality, solid and creative menu.
Super nice place great share plate food and great staff. Highly recommend!
Such a cute spot, with great music and delicious drinks. Didn t get to try to the food.. yet, but the service was very amazing all the gentlemen working there are great. Definitely coming back :)
Lets be completely clear! This is a spot, and a vibe. Great energy with the staff and great atmosphere. Drinks are good and food though small portions ( tapas style) they are worth it. Music is fire, for a late night good time!
The food, drinks and service were amazing!! Highly recommend the ube french toast :)
Beautiful place with great decor! Food and drinks were tasty as well. Definitely coming back here!
Hours for Sunday incorrect. Came here at 7:56pm on June 23rd and the place was closed
this weekend, my friends and I decided to check out Rhapsody, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions weve made in a while. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for an amazing evening. The service at Rhapsody is impeccable. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure you have a great time. Our drinks were always refilled promptly, and the servers were quick to offer recommendations and make us feel right at home. Speaking of drinks, if you visit Rhapsody, you absolutely have to try the My Cherie Amour. Its a delightful mix of flavors that perfectly captures the essence of a great night out. Its refreshing, unique, and quickly became our groups favorite. A special shoutout goes to Dan, the owner. He is the heart and soul of Rhapsody, and it shows in every aspect of the establishment. Dan took the time to chat with us, making us feel like valued guests rather than just patrons. His passion for what he does is evident, and its clear that he takes great pride in ensuring everyone has an unforgettable experience. Overall, Rhapsody exceeded all our expectations. Its the perfect spot for a night out with friends, offering fantastic service, exceptional drinks, and an ambiance that makes you want to stay all night. Well definitely be back, and we cant wait to enjoy more evenings at this incredible place.
Wait for it... Servers are nice, but theyre not trained to serve properly. We had to wait forever to order, and to pay. And heres why im giving them a one star review. There was a an additional charge on our bill, and guess for what? the DJ. If you want to offer a DJ - then you pay for it. We already paid over $150 for our meal - fish n chips, artichoke dip, piri piri chicken (dry, but tasty) and other stuff and two bottles of wine, and some cocktails (which were great). - but the DJ charge, regardless of the amount is unethical. This is not cool. Dont pass this cost onto your guests. If you dont advertise this when making a reservation, or showing up at the door for a table - dont have the gall to charge this to customers. AND your server(s) (multiple) - told me that this is a common complaint. Never returning. Greedy owners - not cool.
Super cool place! JJ was our server and was amazing!
IMPECCABLE FOOD. The menu is what I keep coming back for. The ambiance is also comfortable and the music is BUMPIN. Ask for Jjay!!! The sweetest server!!! The restaurant creates a very unique food experience where it feels like fine dining but at the same time feels like you re eating at home because it s comfortable. Currently they re having rotating menus every weekend (I think for the summer) where they collaborate with other businesses and it is so wonderful. Amazing staff, Amazing food, Amazing service. Much love Rhapsody I ll be coming back all the time
Sasha coordinated all details of our reservation in advance to accommodate our large group in the water room of the restaurant. JJ completed our great experience with his impeccable service, he was attentive and friendly. You can t go wrong with any of the menu options, 10/10 and the happy hour menu was an added bonus!! An absolutely wonderful experience with the most beautiful chandeliers we ve ever seen! Can t wait for our next visit for another night of delicious food, beautiful cocktails, comfortable seating and great music!
Came here with a friend of mine on a Saturday to the location on Ossington. Everything about this place was a complete success..from service, food and atmosphere. The service was incredible thanks to Jenna who was very attentive to our needs and mixed our cocktails to perfection. The food was fantastic and the DJ set spinning throwback slow jams and R&B was a pleasant suprise. The vibes were a 10/10 check them out!
Wonderful experience, Craig was great!
Good variety of drinks and food. Atmosphere was nice for after work with a live dj on set. Would return again!
I had a fantastic first-time experience at Rhapsody. The vibe is amazing, the cocktails and drinks are top-notch, and the food is incredible. The service was excellent from start to finish.
Best Restaurant in Toronto!!
Fabulous
Absolutely beautiful.. drinks food all together was a wonderful evening.. the chandeliers couldnt take my eyes off of .. waiters was a darling didnt wait long at all for my drinks will be coming back again soon for sure great vibes all together!! Food
Its my second time in Toronto Canada, this place was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. The music was a vibe, food was tasty and the cocktails were well made. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and informative. The above the clouds cocktail was one of my favorites. Hope to be back soon.
Pretty good bar! Their beer of draft it s pretty good, served cold (just the way I like it!) and the tapas we ordered were good as well. Just a bit on the pricey side given the size of the tapas. The ceviche was unreal and the chicken was pretty good although it needs a bit more of sauce haha! It was a bit dry, otherwise pretty good. I ll be coming back :)
The vibes are great, and the drinks are even better. Definitely would recommend!
Came here last night for a few drinks. Drinks were pretty good and the service was very good as well. The system the servers use seems archaic though as they kept freezing when we tried to pay. Probably took our server 10-15 mins until they could get their payment system to work. Also want to call out a particularly negative experience we had with the DJ who was playing May 19. He was extremely rude to myself and a friend saying his laptop was worth more than our lives. This and the issue with the payment system left a really negative impression of the bar on me.
Great music, drinks & ambience!
Had the pleasure of trying almost everything on the menu. Bring a group as its tapas style and this way you get to try all the delicious dishes. lots of seating for date night too. Cocktails are delish!!! U will wanna try everything so try it out a few times. Dj was great picking up thr vibe after dinner. Cant wait to come again.
I went here on a Saturday night so it gets pretty busy as usual for Toronto bars. We sat in the water room which was nice except the water display screen stopped working so it was an image of someone under water for the whole night. The party next to us was very loud and the music was even louder. Anyways, the drinks were okay and I like that they can make mocktails of your choice so I also got a spicy margarita. We ordered drinks with food, a burger and two cakes. That took more than 30 minutes to arrive and was told its served tapas style so whatever is made comes out at that time. We ordered karaage while waiting for the burger and that came out under 10 minutes. So food service was slow for 9 pm - 10:30 pm (early in the night). Then it got really crowded in the main area as many people were standing around. Its definitely a club bar than a sit down bar especially with the demographic.
This place on Ossington is super cute. Love the aesthetic, love the atmosphere, the drinks are boozy, the food is flavourful and the DJ was playing really good music. Definitely a vibe like no other.
Beautiful chandeliers! Like some of the prettiest I ve ever seen. The bartenders were super nice. Great service. Service was a little slow at times but it was very busy on a Saturday night. We were able to get seating though at 9:30 which was a nice surprise.
Love this place. Have been there four or five times. Music is great and service is welcoming. Tried the yuca fries, beef empanadas, karaage chicken, ceviche and beef heart anticuchos. They were all delicious. The beef heart was especially flavourful and chewy. For cocktails I tried above the clouds , my Cherie amour and all caps . They were all well mixed and on the sweeter side (how I prefer my cocktails). This is an intimate venue but is split into 3 distinct sections with different decor. It s a sight to behold!
Such a vibe! Amazing cocktails and delicious bites! The music/DJ were amazing and the space is absolutely stunning. We ve been twice since it opened and can t wait to go back.
Amazing food! Amazing cocktails! The staff and Manager were also very pleasant and knowledgeable ! Their recommendations were great!
I had an amazing time here with a group of coworkers!! Adam and the crew are incredible, they make the best drinks and they re so kind, plus the music & vibes are amazing!! We ll definitely be back
Staff was great, Food was amazing! Highly recommended!!
Great Vibe great service , very friendly staff Highly recommended. Food was amazing. Have not seen a place like this in this town. Definitely coming back again. Food
Best Ceviche in town!!
Very rich Peruvian seasoning, attention and atmosphere, super night with live DJ. Brilliant
Wonderful restaurant and bar with amazing vibes. Great place for a date or for a get-together with a small group of friends. Both the food and the cocktails were fantastic. I was there on a date and we ordered the yuca fries, ceviche and burger.
Was so excited to come here! Atmosphere and music were gorgeous. The place is beautifully decorated. We were disappointed that the ceviche wasn t available as that was one of the main reasons we came. Rest of the food was pretty good but the octopus stood out as being great. We also were told we only had a 1 hour time slot so it felt a bit rushed.
Beat food and drinks!!
The food here is inspired, a mix of East Asian and South American. Everything was delicious, especially the Tostada Nikkei. The host at the door was welcoming but our waitress left us for a good 20 minutes and we had to flag her down. Overall, her service was disappointing. We expected more from a restaurant of this quality. Welcome to the neighbourhood Rhapsody!
The drinks were super delicious and the Peruvian snacks were excellent. We ordered the ceviche carretillero, the octopus, the anticuchos, everything was spectacular. Delicious desserts! Very good atmosphere, music and service. We had a great time, highly recommended!
Slow service, uncomfortable seats. Food was not good and take 50 minutes to come out.
Rhapsody is a gem! Creative cocktails and dishes, beautiful ambiance, and the most wonderful staff. DJs kick off every night at 8pm, which is a lovely way to shift from their dinner service to more of a cocktail bar atmosphere.
Beautiful atmosphere! Friendly staff, fun and innovative food. Dj killed it. Definitely my new favourite date night.
Amazing food and delicious drinks followed with great music.
What a gahgeous space! The vibe in the front space, The Forest room, is impeccable. We were greeted by lovely staff, and our service was prompt. The menu is amazing. The drinks are boozy, and the Peruvian Japanese inspired tapas plates are unique and delicious. We had the Nikkei, Empanadas, and Sea Bream My. Gawd. Each dish was outstanding.
The food was bad and not filling. The shrimp was unpeeled. It was literally 4 shrimps and 3 burnt bread. I was so hungry when I left. The service was okay.
It s a pretty place. Cocktails are TINY. Burger was good. Do NOT get the ice cream sandwich. Good music. It wasn t that busy and the crowd is a little interesting..
Service and atmosphere was great, food was just OK. The portion for the beef heart was a good size and delicious but the empanada was nothing special.
Food is decent, drinks were a bit too strong. A service fee for live music is a crazy strategy though, if your business can t afford a DJ, don t hire one and put on a Spotify playlist
Atmosphere and drinks are great, food not so much
Beautiful place, with great food.
The atmosphere was great, the service even better and the food was phenomenal. My friends and I ordered practically everything off the menu and were thoroughly impressed. My favorites were definitely the Anticuchos and Tiradito Al Rocoto. The cocktails were great too, hard to pick a favorite but I enjoyed the Above The Clouds.
I admired the beautiful decor and vibe set by the DJ. The drinks and the food definitely fell short though. Service was a very slow and was not very knowledgable about liquor options, but I could see him trying his hardest. We ordered six things off the menu, and also received complementary yucca fries for our dish taking 40 minutes to be prepared. Everything we try, except for the scallops was absolutely tasteless and flavourless. Between the three of us we had six drinks in total, and all of them were terrible. Unfortunately, I am hugely disappointed by this place, despite what I ve seen all over social media. Would definitely not be back nor would I recommend.
Amazing service accompanied by delicious food great place to go and unwind.
It is sexy, elegant and classy vibe. Perfect for a private outing or first date. The Paloma s Cocktail was by far one of the best I ve had in this city.
Beautiful restaurant with very good food and drinks. Great vibes!
Restaurant was beautiful, loved the vibe of the place! Food was amazing would definitely recommend the ceviche.
Love the vibe of this new restaurant on Ossington! Its beautiful interior and dim lighting make it a great spot for dinner out. The cocktails are delicious and the service is fast. The ceviche is delicious and the karaage chicken is a must try! The nightly DJ and private room at the back with mini bar and floor to ceiling screen make the perfect ambience the perfect night out! Ill definitely be going back!
Food tasted like it was a seafood melody frozen from a grocery store, don t come here
Great atmosphere with great music and food
Food was great, presentation was fantastic! Overall great atmosphere, will definitely be coming again!
Beautiful space with great vibes. The food and drinks are delicious and music is great. Highly recommend
So far so good... Ive recently visited the Rhapsody bar with my friends and I really enjoyed the atmosphere there. The time passes by so quickly. We all had a great time. Ill need to come back and check the food options.
This new and exciting restaurant treated me and my family with so much respect and the hospitality was great. The food is magnificent and has amazing presentation. The owner himself would come and check up on us which made it feel comfortable for us. Highly recommended spot and a great addition to the ossington strip.
Came by today and we had the best server G gave us great food recommendations, and drink recommendations
The service was fantastic, all servers were very attentive and respectful. A very cool atmosphere is set when you walk in there and the food topped off the fantastic experience I had. 10/10 would go again!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was en pointe. The timing of the dishes, perfect. The tapas were works of art in both aesthetic and taste, and our main dish (which we shared) fried snapper was exquisitely cooked. I highly recommend this taste experience.
Great food!! Amazing Vibe !! Check it out
This place absolutely blew me away! Atmosphere is very chic and inviting with its woodsy forestry vibe! The food is a tapa style and is perfect amount of everything! We ordered most everything on the menu and I was on a taste adventure after every dish!! Definitely will be back! New gem in the city!
Overall wonderful experience. Great food and service, my boyfriend and I loved every dish that came out but the ceviche, scallops and octopus were phenomenal. My boyfriend lived in Peru for 4 months and has not been able to find a Peruvian restaurant he loved until now!
great ambiance and food was amazing! 10/10
My experience started with my booking the person who answered the phone was kind knowledgeable and patiently helped me by giving me lots of options and suggestions to make my date perfect.Amazing food! Nothing like I have tasted in Toronto! I had no idea Peruvian dishes were so flavourful! I also love the variety in hot and cold dishes on the menu. The staff was amazing ,they were so attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is gorgeous, perfect for taking pictures with a great ambiance and vibe! Rhapsody is my favourite new spot on ossington right now! Do yourself a favour and go, you will not be disappointed!
The atmosphere at Rhapsody was truly amazing! The ambiance and interior decor, not commonly found in Toronto, were all unique and beautiful, making every corner picturesque! We ordered Yuca Frita, Pulpo Parrillero, Karaage Picante, Tostada Nikkei, and Tres Leches for dessert. Overall, the flavours were unique and delicious, but slightly too salty for my taste. * Pulpo parrillero One of my favourite dishes, had tender octopus complemented by a bean? type of accompaniment that balanced its savoury taste well. However, the crispy pork belly that came with it was mainly fat and lacked texture. * Yuca Frita When yuca frita first arrived, its aroma was strong, causing some in our group to be put off, but upon tasting, the flavour wasnt as overpowering as expected. The huancaina sauce was Amazing! I really wanted to know the recipe on that sauce for sure! * Karaage Picante Karaage Picante resembled Korean-style sweet and spicy chicken (soysauce based KKANPUNGGI) rather than the commonly known Japanese karaage. Despite being a bit too sweet, it was enjoyable. * Tostada nikkei Tostada nikkei, served with crispy nori tempura at the bottom, had a delightful texture and taste. The only disappointment was the Tres Leches dessert; it looked different from the photo on Googles menu and was smaller than expected, with a soggy, melted texture rather than the anticipated moistness. So, for those planning to order it, be prepared for the smaller size and potential variation in appearance and texture from the menu image!
I don t understand why I was charged $1.95 an additional charge for a DJ that I never got to see at 8pm on a Friday night. I didn t want to waste my time arguing with the waitress so we left. This is not fair way to run a business.
Great place amazing food. Went on valentines days with the wife and some friends and had a perfect night thanks so much keep up the great work
Food was not bad. Great service. Weird ambiance with a very scattered design.
More like 2.5 stars. Lots of style over substance. Jumbo shrimp was not peeled, and way too many onions over the octopus and pork belly. Timing of the food was off my partner got their order 10 mins before me. Keep in mind the plates are not full meals. It s like we ate our food by ourselves. The bill at the end showed we got charged for Live Entertainment ? A song repeated like 3 times, the set was meh, and overall never had to pay for a DJ at other, better cocktail bars/restos. I think there are way better options for both food and craft cocktails in Ossington.
**Huge potential** Arrived on a Sunday , almost everything on the menu was not available esp beers. The ceviche was bland and had 2 random fried calamari on it (flavourless) . All on top of a bowl of dry ice for razzle dazzle. The Brussels sprouts were mid. Server said the menu was limited because opening on a Sunday was a last minute call but the reso was made on a Tuesday.
Overall, Raphsody is a stunning venue but that elevated ambiance unfortunately does not translate to the lack lustre food. The tiger shrimp ceviche was bland and more focused on showboating with dry ice vs delivering something enjoyable to eat (seriously who thought adding in butter lettuce and fried calamari rings was a good idea?!) The Brusselsprouts though cooked well were forgettable and the burger far from making up for the other two failed dishes. We didn t stay for longer than 25mins (which should tell you plenty if the food is whizzing out of the kitchen that fast), and was by far the most wasted $120 I ve ever spent. Considering how much I adore Mrs Tobinson, I m profoundly disappointed by Raphsody s failure to live up to expectations.
A bottle of Cava and some excellent nibbles --- exactly what we wanted on a Friday night! We tried the chicken, brussel sprouts, Yucca fries and Octopus. The pork belly on the octopus dish was undercooked but the octopus was tender and perfect. Overall, great flavours! Service at the bar was excellent. Jenna was warm, chatty and friendly, but not overbearing. We loved her and chose the bar because the decor is stunning -- gorgeous lighting and a lively vibe! Will definitely return!
always a great experience
Excellent Peruvian cuisine by chef Elias Salazar..and the cocktails are just as delicious. Rhapsody has the food, the drinks, and the amazing atmosphere. Great spot
Best chef in the city I swear! Great atmosphere very classy. Bartenders are so highly skilled in mixology. I love this place
A fantastic journey from the food to the ambiance. I thoroughly enjoyed the place; it makes you feel like you are somewhere else. Please give a shot to the ceviche and the octopus. Food
What a great surprise with this resto bar. Rhapsody. The decoration and atmosphere, very pleasant and achieved with great success. But best of all, the Peruvian food they offer. I am from Lima and the anticuchos I tried at Rhapsody have nothing to envy to the best anticuchos in Peru. Simply delicious. The grilled pulpo (octopus) was also great. It came with papa seca and crunchy pork belly, an unusual, but great improvement. Separate mention for the causa, simply spectacular. A work of art, not only for the presentation but also for the flavor and balance achieved with the crunchy filling, panko shrimp and a very well made potato dough. Congratulations to the owners, the chef, the cooks and the table service staff.
Great staff and vibing ambient
Rhapsody in Toronto exceeded expectations with its vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service, and a standout feature: Manager Joey. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly elevated the experience, making the visit memorable. From the diverse drink menu to the inviting ambiance, Rhapsody, under Joeys leadership, stands out as a must-visit spot in Torontos bar scene.
RHAPSODY has a design that takes your breath away, an enchanting and relaxing atmosphere that captures you. You will feel in a fantasy movie. The attention to detail makes this place unique. The octopus is delicious, soft and very tasty. The staff is exceptional, they truly know how to take care of the customer. All these things make RHAPSODY the perfect place to meet for a magical evening.
I went for my birthday and I loved it! The place is very nice. delicious drinks and food plus good music. And love the light on the bathroom mirror
Coming to Rhapsody was a complete experience. The ambiance and decor was beautiful. You will not find anything else like it in the city. Upon entry you are greeted by chandeliers that are very impactful and set the overall tone. The music was exactly what we were looking for. The drinks and food were carefully curated and unique. Our server JJ was very helpful and attentive. When we needed something he was right there. The owner also came around to our table to see how our night was going. I HIGHLY recommend Rhapsody for anyone looking for good food, good vibes and good people. Vegetarian options: There are a number of vegetarian options on the menu.
This place is the new go-to! Amazing vibes, food, and music. Perfect for date night or a night out. You have to check it out! Food
Absolutely stunning interior, laid back yet sophisticated atmosphere. The menu was beautifully curated and cocktails combine familiar ingredients with unique flavours. The staff was beyond attentive and service was outstanding, 10/10 recommend!
Atmosphere is out of this world, food is to die for and the nigh life aspect was amazing, great music and staff were wonderful!
Rhapsody has a lot of good ideas but despite the polished aesthetic, it just doesnt feel polished, and it hurts the guest experience. My fiancé and I had a reservation for a Friday date night, but when we arrived, there was no host, and a number of other groups of guests standing the cramped entrance way looking confused. Finally when someone came to take our reservation, they told us to wait and disappeared for several minutes, after which point another person came to ask if we had a reservation (which was confusing and annoying, I thought we were already being served by another host?). When we said that yes, we had one, he also disappeared in search of the iPad that the other host was using. By the time we finally we sat at our table, I had to confirm my reservation time and who I was a total of 3 times. It left a really poor first impression of this place. The table service was no better. We had 3 or 4 different servers through the night. No one knew what the daily fish special was, and while we were waiting between courses, one of them tried to clear our table. The timings when our servers would appear were random, and I was ignored when I asked for more water. The staff were so disorganized, it really ruined the mood of the evening. And I can understand why! The place doesnt make sense. The restaurant is a narrow, long shotgun layout with a stunning bar on the left, and a weird little DJ setup on the right, which you have to squeeze through to get to where we were seated. The flow of service is just messed up from this, because there is no where for a single host to be, and wait staff have to get by the crowd of guests who are surrounding the DJ, blocking the stairs to the washrooms, and impeding flow from the front of house to the dining room and kitchen. Thank God we werent sitting near the door. When we were served, however, the food was excellent. Its a shame that its not featured more prominently We ordered a couple cocktails to start with, which were expensive (>$20 ea.) and underwhelming, and we actually struggled to find the food menu, as its hidden at the back of the cocktail menu and wine list. Under pressure to order since we didnt know when or who we would see next, we ended up ordering the Tostadas Nikkei and the Filete de Pescado to share. The wait staff should know and be pushing the specials... the (market price) Alaskan Trout fish of the day was incredibly delicious, and great value at $50 - it was the perfect meal for 2 and honestly rescued the night when it finally arrived. Contrast this to the tostadas, which while they were tasty, were just terrible value for $25 for 2 crackers with a mound of sticky rice and a small amount of tuna and roe on top. If the owner is reading this: ask your chef to make the tostadas as 4 servings (instead of 2) with smaller crackers and less rice - your guests will feel much better about the $25 they just spent, and make less of a mess trying to eat them. Maybe also move your DJ to the wider back dining room and ditch the second Tromba tequila bar. It didnt seem to be getting much use, and nor should it be, especially since the main bar is so STUNNING. Itll open up the front of house and make it easier to spot when guests arrive. Dietary restrictions: Staff asked us about dietary restrictions or allergies when they took our order (thank you for doing this!) Parking: At the busy Dundas/Ossington intersection, good luck finding parking. Youll be battling drivers all doing the same thing as you. Just take the streetcar. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.
Rhapsody is a hidden gem, a culinary symphony that captivates from the moment you enter. The design is breathtaking, the atmosphere enchanting. The charred octopus is a standout, tender and smoky, paired with a vibrant citrus dressing. The Brussels sprouts, roasted to perfection with a tangy glaze, are a delightful surprise. And the root fries are crispy and satisfying. Each dish is a work of art, meticulously crafted with attention to detail. Rhapsody is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience. Prepare to be swept away by the flavors and leave with lingering memories.
My partner and I found this cute spot on Ossington. Great music and atmosphere. Staff is very professional. Tried the karaage picante and empanada, very delicious. Try the Tromba cocktail with the walnuts!! To die for. Food : 5/5 |
