WOW, saw La Cubana on the Food Network so we made the trip into Toronto on Sunday and we were not disappointed! Such a cool, authentic, old school Cuban dinner vibe, music, great cocktails and the food was AMAZING! The CUBAN MEDIANOCHE, Corn Frituras and Grilled Fish Sandwich were off the hook good! Great service too!

We spend 120$ for four sandwiches (two Cubanos, one veg sandwich and one kiddie grilled cheese) and two drinks (only one with alcohol) including tips. I know we live in a tough economy but thats daylight robbery to me. And quite frankly the Cubanos were just ok - sad to say but not a restaurant I would consider going back to.

Such a lovely space, beautifully decorated with great music and service. The coffee here is no slouch, the cafe con leche was so smooth, definitely one of the best in town. Tried the guava short rib medianoche. Super juicy, lovely homemade bun. Very messy but its definitely worth trying. Service was fast and efficient Also tried the yuca frita which was light but still fragrant and flavourful. Great side option

Cute hidden gem by high park, definitely recommend. I had the pork belly sandwich and fries, both were delicious. Definitely would go back and try some of their other food.

My family and I rented out this location for a family & friends party. We communicated with Aldrin, who was professional and attentive, and very helpful in accommodating our requests. We were able to accommodate guests with different dietary restrictions (ie. gluten free), and we appreciated that the whole restaurant is nut free. We received many compliments on the atmosphere, drinks, and food! Would highly recommend!!

La Cubana is a delightful experience that will leave you experiencing greed and gluttony. After just having completed our meal and leaving stuffed, the overwhelming attitude was when can we come back for more?

Food and drinks were delicious. Service was great. Only thing I would mention was the music and ambient sound level was a bit high for mine and my companions ears. The decor is crisp and modern. Dip the music level a tad and add a few ceiling baffles to absorb the clashing sounds of the hard surface environment, would greatly help to warm up the room. Vegetarian options: Bean and cheese empanada was tasty. One of my dining companions had the chicken plate which she reported was very good.

When I saw the name I ran to enter because I was excited to be able to eat Cuban food, when I entered they looked at me from top to bottom and they didnt even offer me a table, do I have to wear dress code to be served? Or because I am Latino I dont have the same value as others? If the man who is serving the tables is very despotic and rude, in the end between having a coffee and a dessert and it takes him hours to serve, I would like to return but I sincerely doubt it and I would not recommend it either, they should be careful with the staff serving

The beef short rib is one of the best dishes I ve had in Toronto. Start to finish, 10/10 meal.

A chill and casual lunch place where you can indulge in some delicious food. Love the Yuca Frita a lot! The sandwich has a good balance of taste and nutritions, worth every bite! End the meal with the key lime cake, super refreshing.

I didn t demand a refund but I m honestly shocked that they didn t offer it voluntarily after I told them how their grilled fish sandwich gave me mild food poisoning (I rushed to the toilet with a painful stomach 20 minutes after consuming it), it tasted a bit off, too fishy, but I thought it was just not seasoned enough or not perfectly fresh, plus I don t like to complain so I ate it hoping it was ok. Sad, I really wanted to come back, the place is so cute. Maybe other menu items are better but frankly I m scared now

LA Cubana is a hidden gem in Toronto that I stumbled upon by chance, and Im so glad I did. I recently tried their guava short ribs and honey-glazed pork belly sandwiches, and I was blown away by the authentic flavors and bold taste profiles. The guava short ribs sandwich was a delightful blend of sweet and savory, while the honey-glazed pork belly was perfectly tender and packed with flavor. Its safe to say that these sandwiches are among the best Ive ever tasted in Toronto. Whats even more impressive is that LA Cubana doesnt seem to rely on heavy advertising or promotion from Toronto food pages. If I were one for food blogging, I would definitely give this place a callout for its exceptional cuisine. If you find yourself in Toronto, I highly recommend dropping by LA Cubana for a quick bite. You wont regret it! Whether youre a local or just passing through, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Cuban flavors and a memorable dining experience.

Great food, decent price. Super neat and funky atmosphere. The Cubano sandwich is crunchy, fatty, salty, and amazing overall. Though wished there were more pickles on the sandwich. The yuca fries were perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. The garlic aioli it comes with is interesting but the more I ate it the less I wanted to. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic.

Great easy vibe here and simple menu that is anything but! Weve had pretty much every sandwich they offer and l have loved them all. Truly. Fish Sandwich is my fav. Working our way thru the main menu now. Had the Cod Corquetas. LOVED IT. Really nice service too. Our daughter wanted a Grilled cheese with ketchup...and they were very accommodating. Thanks Cubana.

Delicious food! I found the restaurant s music a touch loud for conversation but that s personal preference. Great veg options!! Vegetarian options: Avocado salad is super special and delicious. The black bean soup was so tasty. Rice and peas great. Basically everything is delicious.

Came here just for a dessert before going to the Revue Cinema. The Chocolate Natilla is one of the best chocolate desserts Ive had. The texture, sweetness & temperature were spot on. Service was warm and friendly.

Delicious food and rad vibe. Love this place and stop in everytime were in Toronto. Spouse is normally next door at the clothing store, and I look forward to enjoying some great food whenever shes done shopping.

One of my favourite place for traditional Cuban sandwich. We had the Cuban burger, Traditional Medianoche with good old fries and The bar mixes a proper Papa doble aka Hemingway daquiri. Our cravings satisfied. The staff are always cheerful and attentive.

I like the flavour of almost everything on the molasses roasted pork shoulder plate - the pork, rice and beans, and slaw are all delicious. The tostones feel slightly dry, but honestly given it s my first time having tostones, I had no idea how it s supposed to be like. Yucca fries has very thick batter and quite hard to chew on the outside even after I reheat it in an air fryer. I think the garlic sauce that comes together pairs well with the fries. But I most likely won t order it again. Next time I would like to try the guava bbq beef short rib plate. It was sold out the day I ordered.

Is retro ,good ambience,food and service

This was my first time going to La Cubana and I really liked it. The place is lovely with a diner kind of style. The sandwiches were delicious, big portions, and great coffee.

I had the Cubano and it might be the best sandwich Ive ever tasted... apart from the Honey Pork Belly they made for my mum. Fries were perfect and yucca chips excellent. 10/10 amazing place!

Tried Cuban food for the first time here and it was really good! Got a Cuban sandwich (traditional medianoche), molasses roasted pork shoulder plate, and honey glazed pork belly plate. The dishes were filling and flavourful, they come with tostones too but were kind of dry. Staff was nice and service was fast. The interior looks cool as well. Its also in a pretty convenient location near Roncesvalles and Dundas.

Dropped by to get takeout after work and the folks there were super friendly and asked if I had any questions about the menu. Ordered two fish meals to go and they were still delicious after a 35mins journey home! Super flavourful and great portion side. Food

This restaurant use to be packed, it was empty and I believe its because of the prices and food quantity. Before the service was terrible now the service is much better. But honestly$17 dollars for a small sandwich, it was tasty but 3 bites it done. For $17 nothing else. Also the coffee was more like an espresso. The cup was half full. Everything else like fries was extra. I do not see this place lasting when you pay that much money for a sandwich its crazy. There are so many places on Roncesvalles that dont rip you off and I felt ripped off after this place.

Pork belly medianoche was unctuously tasty, with crunchy skin and deep porky sweet flavour, nicely set off with red cabbage pickle and sweet guava chunks. Cod potato deep fried hushpuppyesque texture and flavour bombs, and tasty baby donuts with cream and dolce leche. Nice.

We went to this location for the first time last week and it was fantastic! Warm and friendly service, amazing coffee, delicious hot sandwiches and delicate cocktails made for a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

A little bit pricey, but the plates are very filling. Have tried the Guava BBQ and pork shoulder meals and they were both phenomenal.

Food was good, we had a pitcher of mojitos which really was 4 drinks because of ice but was good. Definitely recommend for a casual but delicious Cuban meal!

What a wonderful place to have a meal! The atmosphere is incredible. I had a mojito that was hands down the best I ever had! The restaurant was packed solid and the staff made sure everyone was looked after. This is now one of my favourite places to go in the city. I recommend the Lemon bars they were delicious

The place is wonderful and the food is phenomenal, but I would like to say that the magic of this place is listening to good , so please dont play music in English, especially if its an attempt at Latin music, not that its bad , except that as I said before, the magic is to enter and listen to a good Buena vista social club or a Sonora Ponceña playing!

It was my second time at this location. The first time was good. I had the vegetarian plate, and it was massive. The service was meh. The second time they didn t have the sandwich I wanted, so I got the plate version which was also massive. The service that day was very slow and the space was very warm. The guy sitting at the bar with his girlfriend was a bit intoxicated I think and he was talking to all the patrons (including me) and that was a bit awkward. The staff should have asked him to leave people alone. The space is super cute, feels very Cuban and fun.

We really enjoyed the food and the drinks. The pork belly was crispy with amazing flavor. The guava fizz and mango colada were refreshing! However, the service was mediocre. It was understaffed on a weekday evening. It took quite a long time for someone to take our order and the water we asked for never came until the very end of the meal. A set of utensils were missing but I thought I d rather eat with my hands than to wait for someone to come close to our table. We were also forced to pay 18% tips because we were a group of 6 and I m not impressed. Would have been better if we were informed when we made the reservation by phone. We loved this restaurant and it s the second time we were here. I would recommend coming here with a smaller group and choose a less busy time.

This place is so adorable. Great interior and even cuter patio at the back. Definitely a chill vibe with amazing drinks and food. I order a classic daiquiri to accompany the pork belly plate. The drink was tasty and refreshing for a warm summer day. The pork was crispy and soft in all the right places. I highly recommend this spot. Will definitely be coming here again.

Cute and cozy! The decor is as on point as the food. Really good coffee. I had the black bean empanada and yuca fries for a filling lunch. Looking forward to going back for some of their bigger plates. My mouth was definitely watering watching them go past. Something to note. Covered patio out back can be enjoyed rain or shine.

Amazing food with great interior design and atmosphere. Service was mainly good except we didn t know about the 20% gratuity for 6+ groups til day of, even though we made a reservation in advance. Overall would still come again just for the pressed cubano sandwich

The food here is fantastic! It is delicious every time. The bread rolls they make for their sandwiches are phenomenal. It is one of my favourite restaurants in the city. The decor is also very cool, it really screams Cuba, and feels like youve gone back in time.

It had been at least 6 years since we last ate here. It was good, but didnt live up to the memories. The meat portion was substantial, but the price has almost doubled and I felt the rice, slaw, and tostone portions were smaller.

Loved it. Will definitely go back.

I celebrated my birthday here and everything was really amazing. From when I called the manager was super kind and helped with the large reservation. The day of we were running behind and the restaurant had no issues with still hosting all of us, customer service was great. Then the food was also amazing, I had the guava short ribs and everything tasted really fresh and super authentic. The chorizo empanada was bomb, loved it. Thank you to the staff this night for handling our big table and providing really great customer service, great birthday here and I would 100% come back.

Earlier they used to know how to greet customers and delivery drivers. Now the staff is really very rude and ignorant. They keep avoiding people as they arent get paid enough or are unhappy with working. The staff strictly needs to be retrained imo.

Disappointed on Thursday. Been here several times. Always great food and service. But this time we still had not received our drink orders when half way thru our food. Two reminders didn t work. Finally cancelled the drinks. No excuses.

Got their short rib plate as a takeout today, and wasnt disappointed! Short rib was very juicy tender, rice had good flavors. Definitely recommend this place!

Picked up a few sandwiches during lock down and they did not disappoint. The Cubano and Guava bbq short rib were fantastic, and the cod croquettes were a great appetizer!

Excellent restaurant! The dishes are really good, a good atmosphere with the music and a really good mojito! I can only recommend this place to travel for a meal!

The food here is fantastic and the staff are very accommodating. The portions are a little small though; the pork belly plate only comes with two pieces of pork.

Always a great experience at la Cubana! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, young, adults, old people. It has been appreciated by all the people Ive brought to. Plus, they have a patio at the back which remove the noise from the street. The music is nice, the customer service welcoming & helpful and food has always been top quality for the two last years Ive been. The only thing is that you would need time to enjoy the meal as it takes about 30min to prepare.

Gives me a nostalgic feeling of being in a small bodega in Havana sipping on a cocktail and having a fulfilling bite to eat. The cod croquetas is a must. The croquetas are filled with flakes of cod, potatoes and cheesy delight. The pressed sandwich is reliably satisfying greeted by a crunch of the toasty bread and oozing Gruyere cheese. Hungry yet?

Let me start by saying that the food was good and the service was decent! I gotta be honest though, I was disappointed because the back patio was so cramped. I understand wanting to make space for as many customers as possible, but the closeness of the tables made it so awkward and noisy to converse comfortably. I also want to bring up that I went to washroom to wash my hands, and they re in a dingy basement that smells awful and the washrooms are not well maintained.

Tasty meals and mojito is spot on.

Ordered the Guava BBQ Beef Short Rib Plate. $27. Its TWO RIBS AND A CONTAINER OF RICE. This place is a rip off. Buy rice at real Canadian, it costs less, and you get the same amount of meat. Namely, basically nothing

Amazing food and drinks, service was a pleasant experience, had a table in the garden at the back, as usual. The drink is an El Paraiso, definitely a good option. I had the vegan plate, my fave on the menu, but the short ribs seem to be a hit, too.

The black beans and rice are one of my favourite things to eat. The food is always fresh and tasty. One of my regular places to eat.

I love coming to LA Cubana! The outdoor patio is awesome. Lots of shade! The food and service is always good. I ordered the la Cubana sandwich, rice and beans, empanada and donuts. The sandwich was crispy and delicious. The donuts are my favourite. It was fresh out the fryer when it was served. I usually come back for more.

One of my fav restaurants on roncy. My family and I used to go here for special occasions all the time when I was younger, and I continue to support when I can!

What a lovely little Cuban place! The service, food and ambience. Everything was just perfect. Their cocktails are so good. The food portions are great and the taste is extra ordinary! Their breads are baked fresh and taste heavenly! Definitely coming back to this one:)

Always a pleasure to dine in LA Cubana! The food is great, you have chicken, pork, tilapia always served to tostones, rice and cabbage if you pick the main plate. You also have the sandwich option. Drinks are very good, especially the mojito!

Loved everything I ate here! For two of us, we ordered a Pork Shoulder Cubana Plate, Honey Glazed Pork Belly Sandwich, Yuca Fries, and Jicama Salad. It was perfect for 2 of us and all delicious, fresh, and great portions! We also got a National and Raspberry Mojito cocktail which were nice. Their back patio is really cute too if you can get a spot there!

Good tasting good, and good portions. However, a bit too expensive IMHO. The prices have gone up a lot over the years. $35. Inclusive of tax and tips for the plate pictured. Even Inflation does not explain it

Food is always good, but the music is too loud, and the waiter refused to turn it down when we were in today. We still wanted to give them 4 stars but they need to train their staff again since the service was just slightly below level with good food

I come here often for one of their sandwiches. Menu is limited and beer is not the best. My recommendation is to try their Guava and Beef Sandwich - really good!

I usually go for lunch but today they had a brunch pop up. My waiter was so cute. He suggested the Carajillo which was basically an expresso martini with Cuban coffee. It smelled heavenly and was not too sweet. I liked that it was garnished with a marshmallow. I had the chorizo hash which was super tasty and filling. I also asked for the homemade hot sauce and cilantro crema the side. I ve been to both locations for lunch and dinner, and I absolutely love everything about La Cubana. The music and vibes transported me to Havana!

La Cabana has helped me to realize how much I love a Cuba libre. The original Cabana sandwich is simply amazing, this place has been around in Toronto for a long time and has become a bit less trendy, I think that that is a very big shame because the quality of the food is super high the staff are fantastic and the ambiance is great.
