Smoked meat is incredible, juicy and enjoyed it on an onion bun. Potato salad was also great. Banana rice pudding delicious. Quality, flavourful food & a must try.

The smoke meat is done to perfection....This sandwich was outstanding! The matza ball soup was pretty good.... I particularly enjoyed the texture and taste of the matza balls. The potato latkes were not good .... Burnt to a crisp, almost to the point of a potato chip.....No moisture whatsoever....since Ive tried them once before and they were the same.... the latkas are the only thing I would avoid.

Fantastic experience relying on Dave s for catering a larger family gathering. Matzoh ball soup consistently great, but the Brisket was phenomenal - already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring in the brisket again.

Best Montreal smoked meat in Toronto.

Not a fan of the flavour. Too overwhelming smoky tasting to me as if too much liquid smoke was dropped in by mistake making it inedible for my taste. The coleslaw has a sweetness to it which isnt what I prefer in a deli coleslaw. Ill stick to Sumalicious they do it how I like it. The bread was fresh tasting which was nice and the food came up super quickly

Ordered on uber eats as they were the best overall , however fries were stale bread was stale . Im from Montreal so I know what to expect definitely was not 40$ worth . Much disappointed. I order around 7-725 so wasnt expecting late night scraps but that is exactly what I got =\...

We went here this afternoon and I am SERIOUSLY impressed with this Restaurant. The atmosphere is adorable, The decorations, the set up all of it really beautifully Done. I had a roast beef brisket sandwich that I shared with my mom! Both of us exclaimed, We hadn t tasted anything this delicious, Since we ate it Yitz deli, years ago. I took an order of latkes to go, and I plan on eating those tomorrow morning for breakfast. If I didn t live in Newmarket, I would go every week.

Great experience to experience traditional deli

The Reuben sandwich is awesome. It s a generous portion of perfectly cooked meet, the bread was great and the sauerkraut was not overpowering. The service was also absolutely amazing!

This was the best gluten free sandwich I have ever as since being diagnosed with celiac disease. Dave and his staff were very accommodating and friendly and I will definitely be returning!

I went to the Waterworks location and found the prices were high for a smoked meat sandwich for what you get. $13 for a 1/4lb of smoked meat. At the time, I had no idea how little a 1/4lbs was so I was a little shocked when I got it. Im used to getting a 1/2 lb. as the standard size. When The Pig Came Home in the Junction has a 1/2lb sandwich for $16 + tax while Daves sells a 1/2lb sandwich at Waterworks for a whopping $23 + tax. Switzers Deli (the pop up at Henderson Brewery) also sells bigger smoked meat sandwiches for $15 cash or e-transfer only. This price for a smoked meat sandwich isnt competitive as far as Ive seen anywhere. My friend who was with me said he wouldnt have paid $13. I gave four stars for atmosphere because I went to the Waterworks Food Hall which is in a beautiful heritage building. After reading through the other reviews it appears all the bad reviews are about the sandwiches and the prices compared with the portions. My opinion doesnt appear to be unique. Edit: Decided to respond directly to the owner after seeing their response. Getting the price wrong by $2 isnt the flex you think it is. $21 for a 1/2 lbs sandwich is still very expensive and not competitive in the GTA. And it was comical that you said your sandwiches come with a pickle, as if thats something remarkable. Many delis do that, its a thing. I didnt only mention a pop up, but also an established brick and mortar restaurant (When the Pig Came Home). I guess you ignored that because it didnt help your case. You can look up the price of a smoked meat sandwich right now on Summilicious, Wolfies, and Pacers, websites, and none of them are over $16. And lastly you tried to lie about my review history, on top of the fact that it was a strawman argument. 31 of my 44 reviews were 3 stars or more. If you want to blatantly ignore all of these reviews specifically talking about your sandwiches thats on you. Dont try to gaslight me. I dropped the service score from a 3 to a 1, based on your reply. The staff at waterworks were fine, though.

Disappointed. I saw them take meat out of boiling pot of water, nasty. 23 dollars for the smallest boiled meat sandwich of all time (somehow they have two sizes and mine was the biggest). Ridiculously skimpy.

Super disappointed in Dave s bbq after going to the new one in the waterworks food hall. Paid $27 total for a big turkey club it was a bun with lettuce turkey and mayo. A club? Where s the bacon? And no cheese? Imagine going to get a sandwich roll from a grocery store and buying 100g of turkey meat and putting it together. In what world is that worth $24. And how is this a club? Taste was super average. Won t be back. Will head to loblaws across the street for a $6.99 turkey sandwich

Good tasting food but small and expensive

I live in York region and while I do drive by Dave s here and there (because I work downtown once in a while during this pandemic) it s rarely on offer via Uber eats. Tonight it came up on Uber eats and it was so delicious! Got the club on the onion bun with a pickle and some really good latkes on the side. I would eat this every weekend if I could. Food quality was A+. I will say it was pretty expensive but considering prices everywhere, it s debatable about whether it s worth it. I think it was worth it, personally, but perhaps that because I can t get that type of food in my neighborhood.

I ordered the Roast Beef Dip and it was truly, truly, truly one of the best (maybe even *the* best) sandwiches Ive ever had in my life. 1/2 lb (!) of brisket on an onion bun with the most flavourful gravies Ive ever tasted on the side. The only downside is Im trying to go on a diet and this has thrown a wrench in my plans. Bravo!

I just came here for the first time with a buddy. I followed them on instagram not to long ago and from their posts on the page the sandwiches looked amazing! WELL let me tell you Dave s does not disappoint! My friend and I both got the beef dip sandwich which was recommended by Dave and it was just a mouthful of heaven every bite, the beef was like butter. I definitely will be coming back for more. Dave and his daughter who works there at the front are very nice and it is a wonderful atmosphere!!

As a native Montrealer, I was excited to try the Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich at Dave s Genuine Deli. Unfortunately, it was anything but genuine. The meat was rough, cut too thick, and heavily over-spiced. This did not resemble the authentic Montreal smoked meat I grew up with at all. The French fries were another letdown they were so salty they were practically inedible. However, there was a saving grace: the rice pudding I ordered for dessert was pretty good and managed to end the meal on a slightly positive note. Overall, if you are looking for a true Montreal smoked meat experience, this isn t the place to find it.

Sandwiches are seriously delicious,....but Two important points whether you read your real reviews or not. 1) You really need to revisit the pricing. Its too expensive by 30%. 2) Your chicken soup is a 2 out of 5. You can only do better by changing it up.

Food was fine but it took very long to get as they were understaffed. One person at cash was also serving food and cleaning tables. Almost 45 minutes for a sandwich and fries.

Got my self the Ruban combo sandwich, it was soo good. I forgot to take a picture of it. It came with a side of fries and a pickle which you can tell its house made. For sure coming back, see you really soon.

Took some smoked meat home. I had rye my own rye and mustard. The meat was outstanding. I just wish there was an option with trimmed fat. Oh well. I do it myself.

First time ordering and the description and the picture of the smoked meat sandwich are soooo wrong. Taste was OK, the size was worth $9.99 at best, in terms of quantity. Smoked meat sandwich from Pancers, twice the size, less costly. As a rule, I always give a restaurant a second chance. At these prices, cant afford it.

A bit pricier than some other delis weve been to, but the food was excellent.

Had the Turkey Club. Very, very good. They do their own smoked meat which I will try next time. I highly recommend it.

Top Notch! I called Dave at the very last minute for a large catering order to feed 45 people and he delivered! This is my second time using this establishment for large catering orders during lunch and they don t disappoint. The food is excellent and on time! Thank you!

Had the 1/2lb smoked meat sandwich and a kishke. Absolutely delicious. Worth the price. I had the pleasure of talking to the owner Dave while I waited for my order (did take out). Really nice dude, helping me find solutions on his menu for my wife who has dietary restrictions. A large part of the menu is GF and they offer GF bread. I will definitely be returning.

We were driving by and decided to try Dave s. Looked like a great menu and clean. We had the corned beef and the Reuben and they were amazing. Fries and pickles also top shelf. Fantastic, friendly service. Best sandwiches we have had in a long time.

Wonderful smoked meat on rye. 8oz shared with my son was perfect. Very busy for Friday lunch. Not cheap but worth it.

Overall good food in this small deli on Avenue Road near the intersection with Lawrence. Nice and clean location with plenty of seating. Good for takeout with decent choices on the menu. Honestly - all good, but not necessarily amazing, principally for a couple of reasons. First, the sandwiches are absolutely fresh with amply portions of fresh meat, but they were not overwhelmingly different or especially flavorful. Second, the menu is slightly more expensive - especially given the first point. As a consumer, I would pay for unique, but unfortunately Daves was not different enough to support a premium price for the meal.

We ordered the hanukah dinner- the deli platter and latkes. Everything was delicious- the best deli I ve had in Toronto, by far. Dave recommended we reheat the deli meat that comes in sealed pouches in boiling water. I was unsure but I m so glad we did that. The meat came out moist and hot and wonderful. Great latkes too. Well done Dave. We all loved it!

Was really looking forward to being wowed. Cool tunes upon entering. Nice fellows. $27 for a roast beef dip on an onion bun & a Coca Cola. The onion bun was tiny, the beef was overcooked and bland. The horseradish aioli sauce was tasteless and messy. The everybody gets a pickle was a mushy spear of gross. My preferred extra 4 minute drive to Pancers and my trusty massive, juicy as hell roast beef on an onion bun, big fresh crunchy pickle, tasty gravy & a Coca Cola for $21 was wasted on this place, but one must try. Really nice guys.

People, this is the best deli in Toronto, and the only one that imho can truly rival the Montreal stalwarts. I had the smoked meat sandwich meal which was great. The brisket was amazingly brined and smoked. Super tender, you could tell a lot of time was spent in the smoker. Loved the coleslaw, which is the old school way of doing it, don t change it! If there is a real Dave behind this place, great job Dave!

Best corned beef sandwich in Toronto hands down. The rice pudding is also to die for. Amazing food! Also, enjoy the fries a lot! I have to give major kudos to Dave s for their ability to get food to me hot and stay hot with delivery. They are more than 20 minute away by drive and it comes hot and fresh in most of the cases. One time the kiske was cold, but they changed to a new packing method when I told them. The key is they properly pack their food. Even the fries are tasty enough and warm. In fact, yesterday I was unable to get to my reuben for an additional 30 minutes after it was delivered and it still tasted great and pretty warm. Amazing!

Fantastic sandwich

First time today. Mixed vibes Meat: 9/10. Almost too tender, disintegrates in your mouth. Very good quality. Expected more meat for my medium sandwich though. Fries: 4/10.. That said, they may be better served fresh. I got take out. Gravy: 3/10 clumpy, little flavor. Needs work guys, if youre gonna charge for it. Coleslaw dressing 5/10. Bland. Vinegar please. Price: $30 with tax for 8oz smoke meat sandwich n fries for take out. Way too expensive for what I got. The meat is amazing though and nice use of space for dining in.

Outstanding! The quality of the meat is incredible and the preparation excellent. I have paid a lot more for a lot less at the so-called best Delis in NYC, Chicago and Montreal. The GTA is very fortunate to have this place. Dave does it right and I can t say I have ever had a better Reuben or Corned Beef. No even close. The pickles are great and the fries super. His gravy is a really nice addition too. And at the end of it all take some homemade cheesecake home - it s a winner.

Everything is good. Surprise the kreplach soup was next level too, along with everything I tried. The smoked meat and turkey really tastes delicious and unique making this is a truly torontonian deli experience that isnt imitating Montreal, but rather paving its own slightly more southern BBQ take on on Jewish deli classics. Compared with Montreal smoked meat, this take is less pink more barky/blackened coloured. I like both, but this made my mouth water. Its a must stop if youre heading south on Avenue Rd from the 401. Make sure to plug it into GPS, because this little gem is easy to miss, but a mustnt miss - if youre in the area!

I hate writing reviews like this as I believe in promoting small businesses. This may be the worst deli food Ive ever had. The soup was barely edible and came on uber half spilled (the packaging isnt great). The turkey sandwich for $20+ was three pieces of turkey and was as dry as Ive ever tasted. I wouldnt eat here again if you paid me. I had to order a second meal elsewhere after as it was so bad.

Small and simple deli with great lunch sandwiches. I was satisfied with the portions and glad they had a half sandwich option that I had for lunch. Lots of fries included! I consider this my secret neighbourhood lunch spot. Would definitely return.

So delicious, cornned beef is soft and not too salty. (Yes, smoked meat is salty as a rule, but this one has good flavour) Havent had a bad meal yet.

Big smoked turkey club was one of the best deli sandwiches Ive very had. I smoke turkey breast at home and you know good quality meat...this place has it.

Incredible Deli in Toronto. Not many gems like this in Toronto offering classic Jewish style deli. The Meshuguna was a massive 18oz sandwich with a loaded side of fries and more. Good for two people I smashed this down on my own. Loved every bite. Must go if you like classic deli.

Literally the best beef knish Ive ever had! Ordered for pick up for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed! Matzoh Ball soup was great, Reuben, fries and beef knish were all very, very good! Will definitely come back!

Very good lunch spot. The smoked meat was well done and tasted great. Their gluten free bread option wasn t dry and didn t fall apart when eating as gf bread tends to do. The pricing is a bit out of control. $25 for a sandwich and fries/coleslaw is a bit much but the ingredients were high quality which is probably why they feel they can charge so much.

We were recommended to try Daves by a nearby clothing shop. Wow, what a wonderful treat! The food was delicious and fresh. I had the smoked turkey club on the onion bun...mmmm. ... perfection! My fries were a bit well done and I am not used to so much salt. The coleslaw was outstanding and made on site by Dave. My wife had the kishka and a side of gravy served with rye bread. The kishka was really delicious but the gravy was missing a little flavor. We met Dave and chatted a bit...very friendly staff as well. Overall, I think you should definitely stop in or order out as it is a terrific, authentic deli. Well done!!

Was there this afternoon with my family for lunch. Excellent food and excellent service! The smoked meat is pretty legit (better than some of the more established delis in the city imo!). My daughter mistakenly dropped her hot dog on the floor after only taking one bite and they were kind enough to replace it at no charge. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!!

Two sandwiches with double meat via Uber eats which came to $83, aftet tip, tax, and fees. The food is good, however based on the price point I had extremely high expectations and was disappointed with the portions. Seriously $83 for two double meat sandwiches with NO sides, just pickleI. This would have been 4 stacked sandwiches at any other deli in the GTA VERDIC- I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Best smoke meat since the montreal Hebrew Deli

Dave himself is a really nice guy and he has some great pictures on the wall. However when it comes to the food, it really is bland. Healthier than his competitors but bland. Dave you need that grease, that texture, that flavour in your food. The competition on Bathurst street isnt going to give up theirs.

We really wanted to like this place but were immediately disappointed by how little deli meat was in this $22 sandwich. And we got charged $0.50 for the sad display of lettuce at the bottom as well. If you re charging $20+ for a sandwich, I expect to at least be full til dinner. Edit: The owner reached out and explained the turkey meat is house made and very expensive. Adjusted ratings because we understand it can be challenging to maintain a local business.

Dropped by this deli for a quick lunch, it was my first time going. Service was friendly, food was good and filling but their coleslaw was my favourite. I plan on coming back because of the coleslaw! So good.

Weve been driving by this place forever, saying We have to go in there - We did this weekend and all of the positive reviews are accurate. We were there between lunch and dinner, so Dave whipped us up a split plate to hold us over. Ive been to some of the best delis (Montreal/NewYork), and Daves really got it going on. The meat melts in your mouth - fresh bread, fresh-cut fries, killer coleslaw, and Kosher pickles make this place a dining destination. And Dave is a proud owner - you can tell... the place is absolutely spotless. So, how do you get to Deli Heaven? Just head toward the lights - the ones in the Daves Genuine Deli sign. We cant wait to get back.

Probably one of the best corned beef/smoked meat sandwiches you can get in Toronto, I frequent a lot of the other local popular spots but after eating here yesterday, this is by far the best Schwartzs Deli in Montreal is a far drive but Dave s in Toronto is closer and has the same taste and flavour, highly recommend going to try it out. This is my new sandwich spot from now on. Very cool, simple decor on the inside, very clean too, the gentleman working the cash at the front made the experience even better, super nice, caring dude. 5/5 stars

49 dollars for two regular tasting sandwhiches is absurd (turkey and smoked meat). Ive paid 6 dollars at Metro for a smoked meat sandwhich that tasted equally as good as the one here. Wont be back.

I waited to write a review until I worked my way down the menu. Please note I m extremely picky regarding food and cleanliness. The restaurant is spotless and extremely well maintained. Staff are extremely polite and attentive lead by their leader and chef, Dave Isen. Upon discovering the existence of the eatery, I indulged in an incredibly tasty and perfectly smoked and spiced, smoked meat sandwich. As much as I enjoy Lester s smoked meat, Dave has ruined it for me. Definitely the best smoked meat I ve ever eaten from anywhere in North America. The roast beef sandwich dip is superb, delicious and very moist. The Kishka and kinish with gravy was extremely well made and Dave has his own twist by keeping it very clean with out having all the fat that clogs the arteries. Another stellar item is Dave s home made chicken soup. A stellar bowl of superb broth all authentic with no bullion cubes or additives. Definitely try the big bowl, known as Bubbies bowl of chutzpah. Featuring , 2 matzah balls, 2 kreplach, lots of soft chicken and noodles with bagel chips. This is a meal in itself. The entire menu has Dave s excellent chef skills which highlights his exuberance which is driven by his passion for creating amazing food with great flavour and very clean recipes. The only skill lacking for this establishment, is an individual with keen digital marketing talent to introduce Dave and his humble establishment, to everyone in Toronto, who hasn t had the privilege of dining there. And yes, Dave s Genuine Deli is a little more pricy, but that s the cost of incredible food! Any digital marketing professional should definitely approach Dave to combine their skills. The rest of the menu is all excellent, but trying Dave s own aged and cured pepperoni sticks is a must! I truly and sincerely thank Dave for creating a true, new Deli and great eatery in the city of Toronto.

A true DELI with the BEST Smoked Meat and Corned Beef in the GTA! The pickles and coleslaw were great as well. Sercing Martys Pickles which im told he is a real STRUB.

Thank goodness for the Blog TO article.. I didnt even know this was in my hood. The BEST BEST fries Ive had in years... excellent pickle (not sour or soggy like some places), great coleslaw. Got the brisket (a smidge dry but still excellent) - next time some medium pastrami. Oh, and the rice pudding almost made my eyes cross - sooo good!! Will definitely be patronising again.

Wonderful staff and experience. Suggest splitting a corned beef and smoked meat sandwiches with a friend cause its hard to pick between the two! Some of the best in the province, easily. Also appreciated their selection of mustards.

Smoked meat is amazing!!

Ordered dinner from Daves last night. We had the Beef Dip, Smoked Meat Poutine and Rice Pudding. Everything was delicious. Enjoyed it so much we went there for breakfast this morning. We ordered a Breakfast Skillet, a Genuine Breakfast and a Chicken & Waffles. Everything was delicious again and we enjoyed very friendly service (we dined in). Another great dining option in the neighbourhood.

Daves Genuine Deli is magnificent for a few reasons.1. The Food was fantastic there I genuinely enjoyed the smoked meat and the french fries. 2. There service was amazing I ordered my meal and only in about 8 minutes it was delivered. 3. The waiters were extremely kind a patient. I will definitely come back in the future

Legit deli with very good service . I had the Ruben and chose to go with corned beef over the smoked meat but I will definitely be returning to try out the smoked meat. This place is real. The area needed a deli and it does not disappoint. Good portion , fresh rye and the meat was fantastic. Really nice width of slice and balanced briny flavour. They also serve brunch which I will have to check out. Thanks very much Dave !

Apfekstrudel is NOT Apfelstrudel. Its a simple chausson aux pommes : puff pastry and cooked apples and sugar syrup. No cinnamon. So easy to do. This is not serious. Staff was very nice, but food not authentic. A mainstream pleaser?

My husband and I had our first meal here tonight. It was awesome! I had the Ruben with corned beef, fries and coleslaw. My husband had the corned beef sandwich, also with fries and coleslaw. The food is excellent and the best slaw I ve ever had. Dave, the owner came by to say hi and made sure we were enjoying our meal. The waitress was very nice and the vibe of the place was easygoing and friendly. If you want a delicious deli sandwich, look no further. We will be back!

The food is amazing! I personally like the cabbage borsch and Corned beef sandwich! My son really likes the Chicago 53 hot dog! The service is really good and the people are really nice! I highly recommend it!

I ordered for the first time last night. Its been nearly twenty-four hours and I still am suffering from the food poisoning. My stomach is Twisted in knots, I have cold sweats. Im shocked that so many people have given this place positive ratings... I will never order from here again. Theres nothing else it could have been, it was definitely the food from this place. Also can we talk about the price? $14 for a hot dog? UPDATE (2 days later) I am Increasing my rating from one star to 2.5 stars (rounded up).... Because of the food poisoning Ive lost 9 Lbs in 36 hours and am closer to my goal weight than Ive been in a while. While Im sure its not a regular occurrence, the prices are still a real premium

We ordered the roast beef dip& fries, they were both fabulous. We decided to try the rice pudding and boy were we floored at how delicious it was. This place is always spot on!

Overall, an excellent restaurant delivery experience. Fresh food, high quality and prepared perfectly. We will be back for more.

BEWARE!! First time customer here. Ordered Roast beef and corned beef sandwiches last night via Uber. Seemed delicious until this morning. My bf and I are super sick. Been busy constantly throwing up and running to the washroom. Thanks for the Food poisoning! I should have trusted my instinct when I saw the earlier review here about them getting sick. Never ever am I going to eat here again. Will advise others to be wary as well.

Without a doubt, the greatest Ruben Sandwich in Ontario. The combo is move, the pickle is slice is good enough to talk about on its own, crunchy and sour and just too good. I m not a coleslaw fan but they do something right! Maybe it s the green onions in it or the fact it s not a creamy coleslaw, I don t know but I m here for it. I won t even try explaining the Ruben it s self . I couldn t do it justice. It s just that good you ve gotta try it for yourself to understand what I mean.

5 stars for the corned beef; moist, melts in your mouth, and just what you want. 3 stars for the smoked meat; too salty. That sandwich was left unfinished. Perhaps just a one off on that brisket? Will be back to try again as this deli is the real deal.

There isnt a single thing I can complain about. I had their Matzo Ball soup, Greek Salad and smoked meat. The person I went with had the corned beef sandwich and fries. All was delicious. Probably the best smoked meat I ever had. Dave, the owner is super friendly . I will absolutely be a repeat customer.

Ever since Katz Deli closed, I have been having serious cravings for proper deli fare. Dave s finally squashed those cravings for good, wholesome favourites not found at other spots in the city let alone this neighbourhood. Everything about this is place is 5/5, there is serious attention to detail taken here to ensure your food is top notch. I have had the club, smoked meat sandwich, matzo ball soup and rye bread. Everything was stand out, couldn t help myself and usually finish everybody else s food. To sum it up, Dave s has the SAUCE. He has got it figured out and his legacy is ready to be built up in this neighbourhood. This establishment is exactly what was needed to bring some real GENUINE food to the area.

Hands down the best Smoked meat!! Love their Roast beef dip, excellent quality beef. Salad is excellent! Went for Brunch today, my friend had the eggs, bacon, sausage with salad and they loved it. Gave them a taste of my Smoked meat and they could not believe the flavour and quality. I ended up losing half my sandwich.

I have been meaning to try Dave s since it opened a short while ago. I m born and raised in Montreal and grew up on Schwartz s deli - the absolute gold standard- and am always looking for something that comes close, which Toronto doesn t seem to have. Heard good things about Dave s so went in with fingers crossed. Kept it simple and just got a 10oz smoked meat sandwich. Pretty good although the meat was a bit lean/dry. A bit less fat trimmed off would bring out better flavour. Also, ask for your mustard on the side. They put far too much on the sandwich. The biggest problem with this place is the price. It is ridiculously expensive. I understand that food prices are going up but $25 for a sandwich at a deli is insane. Wouldn t mind so much if I lived on the bridal path, but since I don t With better prices, I would definitely go back regularly but at $35+ per head for a meal (sandwich, fries, coleslaw, drinks) it s much to expensive. Especially if I m feeding the family and not just me. Which is too bad since there isn t any other great deli close by.

Delicious. You can taste the smoke, the craftsmanship and quality in every bite. The service was friendly. The prices are a little higher than usual but these days that seems to be an issue everywhere. Again, the quality is very very high. Well go again for a treat. But if you havent gone you should treat yourself

Dave s deli is great! I had the smoked meat and the first thing that hit me was the amazing smoky smell of the thick cut Sammy. The meat was tender and delicious. The bread was fresh. The service was friendly and on-point. I d definitely go back again.

Dave owns the place and is there all the time. The smoked meat is absolutely killer and the way they include it in breakfast dishes is so unique. Best breakfast is town. Amazing !

Smoked meat sandwiches were okay but nothing special. Matzo ball soup was okay too. The prices are a little absurd - paid over $70 for two sandwiches (one small, one large), soup and a drink. Also, they didn t even have full table service at those prices. Not impressed.

Sticker shock on seeing the pricing. Impressed with their quality so definitely quality over quantity. Downed my half of the Meshugana and nice attentive service. Will be back. A piece of advice, the treat for the kids meal is a disappointment so better to take it off than to give such a lame treat it made no sense with the quality of everything else you produce.

The establishment was very nice and also the person at the cash. Although I didnt quite get what I really wanted, the sandwiches were delicious. For the price I will have to go elsewhere for a sandwich. No regrets it was a good bite. But I would load up the fries and improve the coleslaw for your customers.

Amazing. Hubby had the smoked meat sandwich with fries and gravy, I had blueberry waffle, came with maple butter, blueberry compote and icing sugar. Everything perfect, Dave was behind the counter, very friendly, fast service, brought our food to the table, cleared it quickly when we were done eating. Next time in town we will be back.

The restaurant was small yet very comfy.. The old nostalga pictures of early Toronto Jewish restaurants on the wall , suited the atmosphere perfectly! The kishka was just like I remember from way back, and my corn beef sandwich was right up there with the best , Ive ever had..Im hoping that Dave enjoys all the success in the future that he deserves !

Small restaurant, but there were tons of pickup orders at lunch. Not many tables, but it is ok. I had the fish and chips and it was really good, generous portions for what you pay for. Owner is a really diligent guy, made sure everyone was greeted when they came in, and took the orders quickly. Makes everything on site fresh to a certain degree (hot dogs arent possible, lol). Had a great lunch with my friend, definitely a visit if youre in the area.

I specifically when there for the beef dip and I had the beef dip it was by far one of the best I have had in years! The dipping sauce was great but I was not to crazy about the somsort of mayo sauce on the dip its self! Other wise for me it would have been perfect!

Daves deli isone of the best and tastiest beef sandwich Ive ever had. Great menu, Great portion with awesome fries. Good location and the best staff. They can help you choose the best of the best. The poutin is huge and tasty, recommended to go and see it yourself. Definitely going back.
