I love this place, the service is amazing, the people are very polite and I feel like I m in a cafe from the movies. The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming.

The nicest people running the place - so warm and friendly, with a smile on their face. Coffee is always fresh, and so balanced in its taste (unlike burnt sludge at big companies). The bagel is the softest Ive ever had. And they have halal options too!! I keep going back!

New owners and the quality has improved so much better to the point i have been visiting on a daily basis. Affordable and customer support is nice. I like their korean menues the most. Must try in midtown area

The place is very easy to miss, but is definitely worth eating at on a warm day. The smoked salmon bagel and coffee frappe that I had were delicious. The piece is quiet, and has some very lovely staff.

Joannes deli really feels like a one of a kind place in Toronto. In a time when most places will charge you ridiculous prices for share worthy food that doesnt even taste good, its beyond refreshing to visit a place with simple food and good customer service for a reasonable price. Definitely a local favorite!

We arrived in Toronto hungry after a long journey. We came across the shop by chance. The lady was very nice and gave us a warm welcome. We ordered two bagels. These were very tasty

Excellent bulgogi sandwich. It s a very simple place but very warm atmosphere. The couple working there are also very friendly and attentive to my choice and taste. I highly recommend the hidden gem at Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant.

We have come here several times and have been impressed by the cleanliness and coziness of the place. However, today when we ordered perogies, we noticed that the mother (?) chose to put no onion garnish on ours and all the onion garnish on another customers order. Interesting, because I had just told my partner before coming in that I noticed a difference in treatment. I find that Joannes is more inclined to treat other customers better than Korean or younger ones. This is a shame and an old school way of being. While the food is good, clean, and fresh, there is discrimination here that is undeniable. If the owner is reading this, she knows what I am talking about and remembers us. You shouldnt treat customers that you dont think matter like this. You will lose business, you have lost ours, and you have certainly lost our respect.

Family owned, very friendly, they do not skimp on the portions and prices are more than reasonable. AND, looks like it takes thoughtful Korean restaurant people to also include delicious gluten free toast for us Celiacs!! Vegetarian options: Fresh letttce, tomato s, etc Dietary restrictions: Gluten free toast Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs!!

The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a personal touch to every meal. And speaking of meals, the food is simply delicious flavorful without burning a hole in your pocket. A gem of a place where you ll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face!

An unforgettable restaurant There wasnt a single side dish that wasnt tasty, and all the staff were friendly. They sell special menus for each day of the week, and every day of the week is delicious, so if you dont know what to order, I recommend going inside, looking at the special menus, and ordering one of them! Butter chicken, Pilgram sandwich, etc. are real specialties. When ordering a packed lunch, add 1 dollar and be sure to eat kimchi

I eat lunch here every Tuesdays. I love eveything in this cozy restaurant. Food is so good. Stir-fry steak burger and spicy pork lunch box are my favorites. And especially the owner and chef are so kind and warm-hearted.

They have really good food options like sandwiches, salads, soups and every day specials that are main dishes for lunch. The breakfast sandwich and the Lasagna and Kale salad combo were great. Very yummy. And the prices are very good. The breakfast sandwich is around $5 which is a great deal.

A great little mom and pop deli perfect for weekday lunches, ranging from delicious cajun salmon and lasagna to bulgogi burgers and bibimbop. Dont forget to try their homemade kimchi!

What a delightful little deli. It feels homey inside and Joanne is very nice and friendly. I strongly believe this place plays a very important role in the neighborhood. They serve quality and delicious food with a very friendly price. I had the quiche with pasta and I enjoyed it a lot.

Bulgogi box was great

This place is very tidy and well maintained. The food quality is impeccable and they also have korean bento boxes that are well priced and taste delicious. I had the bulgogi which was a generous portion. Although you have to pay $1 extra for some kimchi on the side. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised.

Honestly how on earth did this joint get any decent reviews. First off it s got nothing to do with a deli, they purchase cheap meats and microwave them. The woman who said she was Joanne was miserable because we were talking some time deciding. I d never go back

I get their stir fry beef with egg sandwich every time I go and it s the best breakfast sandwich I ve ever had. Great place, great service, great food!!

Nice enough place however some things I ve observed. The male owner, who is always in charge of the register, consistently ignores their posted pricing and charges more. For example, their BLT combo is clearly marked $7.99 but I was charged $8.99. After he rang up my combo and drink, I noticed an additional $0.25 that was also added. What is this $0.25 for? Being 8 months pregnant I just paid it. However, I did once bring this to their attention that their pricing both outside and inside was one price and that he was overcharging me at the register. To which he and his wife spoke in their language in front of me, presumably about the discrepancy but I don t speak their language so who knows. He did not want to honour the posted prices & took me nearly to walk out for them to finally honour their own posted prices! I love supporting small and local but little things like this really do bother me. If your prices have gone up, change your signage to reflect the increase.

I happened to stop by while passing by in the morning and I really liked it because the price was reasonable and the food was delicious.

Its the best! I found this place near my house by chance, and it sells Korean food. I tried it and it was very delicious, good value for money, and most of all, the owners wife was so kind that I now visit often whenever I feel like it. I highly recommend it to anyone living in Eglinton.

My daily ritual spot for lunch that quench my home style food cravings. The food quality is always on point. You HAVE to try their spicy pork burger and lunch box (attached) along with their daily specials. Consistently high quality food. I feel lucky I have found this place. Note: ask the owner about the Korean bento special if you like Korean food :)

Ive been living in the area for years, and only stumbled upon this place recently. I really didnt know what I was missing! They have a great selection of fresh made breakfast and lunch options, lots of variety to choose from, including a few really tasty Korean options. Staff is friendly and fast, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I got a delicious sandwich, soup, coffee and cookie for a total of about $11 including tax. I highly recommend checking them out, and supporting this great local business.

Nice mom and pop place. They have a variety of food options for breakfast and lunch. A mix of Western and Korean food options. I tried the bulgogi lunch box and it was quite good. Meat was good quality and overall quite tasty. Will definitely go again

Small sandwich shop run by a lovely couple. Joannes Deli is a sweet place to visit for breakfast and lunch. They have a whole host of sandwiches with your own choice of bread, some authentic Korean food(!!), and a neat little selection of baked goods. The price is very affordable, especially considering the how good the food is. Also, check out their lunch specials!

My go-to for lunch once a week. Excellent selection for all ages and tastes. After having tried maybe a dozen things off their menu over the years, Ive never been disappointed. The owners, Joanne and Steven are absolutely delightful and it shows in how they maintain their business. Everything is clean, tables and chairs recently upgraded and they follow proper covid protocols. Consistent experience, and really great value.

Joannes Deli is where you want to go if you want to experience a true Mom and Pop shop that serves delicious food with a homemade Korean touch. I tried the Bulgogi, fried egg sandwich and it was AMAZING. Packed full of fresh ingredients, flavours were on absolute point, buns were soft, cheese was perfectly melted... My girlfriend almost ordered one to go along with her bibimbap (which was also fresh and delicious). Joanne was super helpful and caring during our visit and periodically made sure we were doing okay despite the busy lunch rush starting. We will definitely be back soon!! Highly recommended to give this place a visit :)

This place is amazing! Im surprised not more people know about it. I ordered their avocado chicken bacon sandwich and the owner made it right in front of me from scratch. Not only was it delicious and fresh, but it came at a great price. I got to met the owners and they have been around the Eglinton/Mount Pleasant area for 13 years! Its a mom and pop shop, so you know their food is made with love. It doesnt look like it, but they even serve Korean food! They have bulgogi sandwiches and bibimbap, which Im going to try for lunch next time. Like another reviewer said, this place is a true hidden gem!

Great homemade food at great prices Ive tried their korean beef lunch boxes and also their sandwiches are healthy and tasty. I love that they sprinkle hemp hearts into the salads.

Sandwich combo taste good. Combo doesnt come with a drink, .25 charge for paying with credit card plus they prompt you for a tip. For the price go next door to subway for a 12 sub.
