I decided to stop by on my way home because every time I passed this store, I was tempted to try their patties. From the moment I walked in, I was amazed by the atmosphere. David and Kim were super friendly, which made the experience even better. I had a beef patty, and honestly, it was the best $3.95 I ve spent all day! Merci beaucoup!

Had serious patty cravings and this really helped curb them - the jerk chicken patty and sweet potato patty were both delicious!

So good and authentic! The owner is incredibly nice, and it feels like a local favorite that everyone in the neighborhood loves.

My god my new spot anytime Im in the junction homemade oxtail patties homemade dough. Also got the works canadian bacon sandwich along with a cappuccino and all of it was 5 stars I honestly love the pig came home.

My husband is on wheelchair and always check places for accessibility before we go anywhere. This place has the sign for accessibility, so We drove all the way from Downtown, only a I find out it s not accessible and the owner, old guy instead of being apologetic and trying to give solutions, gave us attitude and was rude. I wouldn t recommend it.

Great deli style sandwiches. I m a big Rueben guy and there s is delicious. Wish they had more seating. Would have loved to eat it fresh there. It gets a little messy/soggy when you take it home, but mostly just due to the service size, which is great. The sides are also great too. Had the potato salad and the coleslaw. Would recommend both. With better seating this place is 5 stars across the board. That said- would still recommend, and would still come back again.

Ordered the Reuben and the jerk chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! The Reuben was my favourite. Perfectly fatty meat and delicious flavours. We got two spicy beef patties too. Homemade!! They were incredible. 10/10 will be back and would recommend! Thanks Kim!!!

The jerk chicken sandwich is perfectly balanced. Soft bun, creamy coleslaw and a good amount of chicken inside. Great spot to grab a tasty sandwich. Also really like that there s a sink opposite where you order so that you can wash your hands. You will probably need it!

Stumbled upon this place while shopping, I got the sloppy Reuben and Spicy Patty lunch special and it was genuinely delicious. The Reuben had the perfect amount of every ingredient and condiment, and the patty was warm and flavourful from the dough to the meat. Super tasty, filling, and the staff were familiar and friendly :)

This review is solely for their beef patty. I ve been a regular at When the Pig Came Home for quite some time, even before they relocated to their new spot. Known for their stellar sandwiches such as the porchetta and smoked meat sandwiches, I finally decided to try their beef patties on my recent visit. Upon unwrapping, the aroma of turmeric was unmistakable, giving a strong fragrance to the patty. While the beef filling surprised me with the addition of herbs like rosemary, I found the patty itself lacking the flakiness and butteriness I had hoped for; the dough resembled more the texture of a samosa shell. Additionally, the beef filling seemed under seasoned, missing the essential touch of salt to bring out its full flavor profile. Although their beef patty falls short of my expectations, I still remain a dedicated fan and look forward to returning to try other things on their menu.

Tried this place few times and the best try was a first time over half year ago. I would say it s sadly a very bland taste of the food. Spicy Philly sandwich is bland, a bit of kick from peppers but that s all, the meat is extremely chewy, cheese was good. Jerk chicken was average, there is better places for that on the same street. Porcetta was way too oily. They used to have amazing sauerkraut, but sadly changed it to some vinegar cabbage. Overall, every time I have something from here it does not deliver me a good taste experience.

Located right at the edge of the Junction neighborhood, this restaurant makes a great lunch spot if youre looking for some nice smoked meat sandwiches. I ordered the 1/2 lb Reuben on Rye, and a potato and kale salad on my visit, and was quite pleased with both flavour and portions. The restaurant offers breakfast sandwiches, porchetta, jerk chicken, and other types of beef sandwiches. They use grass fed, hormone and anti-biotic free meats that are prepared fresh daily until they sell out. Service here is super friendly, and while theres limitd seating, due to the small size of the place, they have a sink right across the counter for customers who wishes to eat there to wash their hands since some of these sandwiches can get messy.

We d heard such good things we wanted to try it. We split a porchetta sandwich and a classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Maybe we got them on a bad day, but the porchetta was just meh pretty flavourless and not actually all that fresh tasting. We went mid-afternoon so maybe it had sat in a steamer all day until we got there. Can t say. The crackling wasn t so much nice and crispy as it was alarmingly reminiscent of finding bits of hard, ground glass in your sandwich. We did quite enjoy the Philly cheesesteak, though. Great tastes and texture. I would definitely go back for another of those.

The best deli in the city hands down. This has always been a solid sandwich shop, but over the holidays we ordered a smoked turkey from them, and it was spectacular. I don t even like turkey, but my husband loves it and we had friends over to help eat. I ended up eating two plates and leftovers for the rest of the week. I still don t like turkey EXCEPT when it s from Pig Came Home.

We took the family on a detour to visit WTPCH Deli so our teenage boys would be able to last on their visit to ROM. I got the Peameal sandwich so I could experience a traditional Canadian creation. It did not disappoint. My boys all had different offerings; the reuben, brisket, and the BLT. There were no noises heard other than satisfaction. My husband dropped comments for the rest of the evening about going back for round two. Definitely worth your time!

One of the best spots in the junction , quality food and ingredients , you can taste the love Ryan and Norma put in their food . I eat here at least once a week and it is prob one of my fav meals .. highly recommended, try the joeseph and don t forget to add a beef patty

Very best places Ive been to and still always coming back. Its not only the food that were best but the people working here. They will know you by name and makes you feel you belong to the neighborhood. Food are delicately prepared and packed for you. Even though they do not have a big space but they will make you feel at home. Highly recommended!

My husband and I made sure we stopped into this restaurant based on one reviewer s comment that the smoked meat sandwich at this place rivals Schwartz s in Montreal. Those are some BIG shoes to fill. We were greeted warmly but the staff and chatted about our day exploring local craft breweries. He helpfully pointed us in the direction of a few breweries. Junction and Rainhard were awesome! The Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich is a damned good sandwich. The meat is tender, and there is lots of it and you get a large pickle on the side. My only beef (er, oink?) is that my sandwich was quite messy with mustard all over the one side of the bread. This is a tiny spot but it s a great place to stop for a quick lunch for smoked meat lovers.

Everything is unbelievably tasty, juicy, tender, and clearly made with an enormous amount of love. The cherry on top, is the people! Some of the best around. Easily the best sandwich I ve ever had in the city and I am not even kidding. You will need to wait a little bit to get your order but it is worth the wait. The restaurant is situated on Keele St right before Keele and Dundas St W (Junction). The restaurant itself is a small restaurant with 4-5 high stool seats and 2 benches. Service: really friendly service, helpful with what to order and what toppings are on what sandwich Lineup: There was a line-up when I went with about three people ahead of me, I got there 2 minutes before 11:00AM. The Food: I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak - Ryans way, and a spicy stuffed jamaican patty on the loose side. The Philly cheese steak was good I wish there was a bit more hot peppers and a little less cheese whiz but other than that it was great. The stuffed jamaican patty was not that great especially after having the philly cheese steak. You really cant taste any of the beef, so most of what you taste is cheese and tomato. Cost: I paid $28 for the philly cheese steak sandwich and the stuffed spicy jamaican patty. The stuffed patty was $6.80 + tax which now seems very expensive for what you get. Overall: The sandwich was great and patty not so much. If you are coming here for lunch it could be a long wait. It took me around 40ish minutes to order and receive my food. So being aware of time and ordering ahead is needed if you have limited time for lunch.

You should go eat here if you enjoy eating food. Just absolutely brilliant chow. Smoked meat is as good as Sumilicious, but made just a shade differently, enough that one may properly hold both in the same sufficient level of reverence. To boot, incredibly nice people running the joint. Go check it out, you will be happy you did.

Unimpressive smoked meat sandwich. Came for pork because of the name when the pig came home and no pork at 1pm. Wasnt asked if wed like lean, medium or fatty. Luckily we grabbed a water with the sandwich to wash down the dryness. Was a lot better when it first opened. 2 stars because the brine and rub on the meat was decent.

Limited menu on Mondays and Tuesdays with no virtual ordering available. $9.50+tax for lunch special includes jerk chicken sandwich or sloppy Reuben sandwich plus patty and can of pop. Virtual ordering on a Wednesday was seamless. Picked up at stated time. Another great deal: lattes for $3+tax. Only complaints: there was a pinch of sauerkraut accidentally included on my house porchetta sandwich. Weird but true. Payment machine requires touching a couple of times but not cleaned between customers.

I had 2 smoked meat sandwiches and a coleslaw for lunch yesterday . The smoked meat sandwiches were great . Not quite as good as I would get in MTL , it was missing something in the spices , but some of the best I had in the city . the creamy coleslaw was a little disappointing , but I was there mostly for the sandwiches . So overall experience was good , and Ill make sure to come back for the sandwiches and Ill skip on the salad next time .

I got a pea-meal bacon sandwich and some of the smoked meat to go. All assembled at time of ordering. It does take some time but good things come to those who wait. The smoked meat is the best I have had. I will be coming back. Grab a Jamaican patty while you are there my partner really enjoyed it.

Usually i dont bother with reviews but if your looking for a good quality smoked meat sandwich this is the place to go to! Amazing big portion of meat on a rye bread that just melts in your mouth! They even gave me extra pickles when i asked on uber! And the sauce they use for it matches it perfectly, definitely worth the price! :) Will be coming back!

Yeah. These reviews are totally legit. The smoked meat sandwich was amazing and huge. With me Being a Jamaican patty fanatic and Fahmee shut down for Pattie s, I decided to try the Norma patty even though I knew I couldn t eat both. Damn! That patty is the new crowned champion! Some places excel at the crust. Some excel at the filling. This place is hands down the best for both. And finally a place where the spicy is SPICY and I m not adding my own scotch bonnet sauce on top! I think I need to order from here with multiple people so you can order multiple items and taste a bit of everything. So hard to pick one item.

I had the Philly steak Sammy, (Ryans style?) It was really delicious! Had the kale potato salad. Price was a bit more than I expected, but I cant complain that much as it was so good!

Quality sandwiches and patties! My go-to is the lunch bag special with the Sloppy Rueben + beef pattie and drink.

Ordered the beef juicy patty and added jerk chicken. My god. It was juicy, flavourful, and had the perfect amount of spice. This has got to be the easiest and quickest review I ve done. Also, I have to mention the employee at the cash register today was very sweet and friendly.

I stopped by last week after not having visited since the before times. The bad - no more beef cheek sandwiches. The Good - their smoked meat is excellent. A bit drier than Im accustomed to but thats not a bad thing as the bread doesnt dissolve in your hands. The meat is delicious - it has a hint of some other spice that lends it a bit of a pastrami vibe. Absolutely no complaints though, Ill make an excuse to brave the traffic and head back again soon. Edit - staff are still top shelf.

Always amazing customer service and the food is 10/10!

Had the house porchetta sandwich and it was excellent. Everything on the sandwich went well together. The porchetta is sliced thinly deli-style. It even came with crackling. The only negative was I had to wait about 20 min longer for my order than I was told, but it was in the middle of the lunch rush and the person who handed me my order apologized.

Literally the best sandwiches in the city. Not an exaggeration. Just try it...

With what seem to be limited hours, youd think a little deli like this wouldnt last. Well, they dont need to be open all the time because the quality of their food will make sure you keep coming back when theyre open. All hand made and cooked in small batches so if they run out, youll just have to try again another time. Highly recommend the stuffed patties (if youre lucky enough to get there on time), the reuben, or the jerk chicken!

Just AMAZING!!!!!! My wife and I love to discover new places and this one hit it out of the park!!! Their sign outside had this fun humour to it which tells you, this place is zen! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and a conversation was struck up over my WKRP shirt! Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly it was amazing!!! We hadnt even ordered yet!! The vibe there was just Awesome Cool!!! We got the smoked meat and Reuben sandwiches and they were on point with them!!! Brilliant texture, amount, size and flavours and you just cant go wrong with a damn good sandwich!!!! We chatted away while our food was getting ready. Just the Nicest people there!! Well Definitely be back!!!!
