200 Victoria St, Toronto, ON M5B 2R3, Canada
Part of a local chain, this venerable spot serves sandwiches, steaks & burgers at all hours.
I had Steven (or Stephen! Sorry in advance if I got that mistaken) who was an amazing server. Made the whole experience feel wonderful as it was my first time going to this diner with my girlfriend. The food was delicious, well priced, and the fact that it is open 24/7 is stellar. I ordered the Big Breakfast (I think it was called), and my girlfriend ordered a French Onion soup with a Lime pie? I forget. Either way, it was awesome! I felt no pressure to order quickly, and was accommodated. Steven was superb. My girlfriend also loved the service and food here and she and I plan on visiting this place more often! I seriously recommend this diner. As someone who loves diners and diner food, this place absolutely hit every checkbox in my checklist. 10/10! - Gavin
I just had breakfast at this lovely restaurant and I enjoyed very much. Very satisfied with the food and price service was excellent. Waiter was friendly and polite. Excellent.
Before covid this place was great. I had to be at st Michaels for a family member who is very sick. I thought some good old comfort food from Frans would help me smile. Wow I had to ask few times if there was a server. The girl who sat me said sit and wait. WOW ! So few minutes later waitress asked are yuh ready to order ? lol yes a while ago. Then while being served a man came to the waitress and said that that was his table she said do you want to take over. Wow !! The first coffee was great I was tired up for many hours I did enjoyed it. After a while I was asked if I wanted another coffee. Yes please. Well I had to add three milk as it was old coffee not good at all . The eggs Benny that used to be great had little sauce and no lemon as well the fruit was hard inedible shame !! Ok but you know what your service sucks and your food is 3 rd rated. Do not go here. Senator up the street way better. Close down stop shaming a good memory. Your workers suck and are rude to be honest. Worst experience !!! Avoid oh and that’s not all I had to ask to pay. And was told by greeter to sit and wait. I am 60 years old. That was a disgusting way to be treated. I even gave 18 % tip making my bill over $23.00 for garbage. So upset how you people are ruining our good spots to eat. So selfish.Just ate at the Senator Restaurant one block from Fran’s. Amazing food service 5 star. Worth the walk. Just north of Fran’s on Victoria. Best ever. And you will leave aiming not disappointed like crapy Fran’s ew. So bad there. I heard from my brother a few years ago a rat walked through the place. Omg shut down
I had the tuna fish wrap with salad and my companions had the veggie burger and Baja Chicken wrap with fries. All were pretty good and nice size portions. They serve all day breakfast which looked pretty good. Pur server was very friendly. Good place for a casual meal and close to Young st and hospital.
Another classic joint that is being flushed down the toilet because of the trickle down economics of high prices. It’s a comfortable diner with a vast menu. Ordered a Ruben sandwich that any good deli / diner should be able to Crush it out of the park. To say that it was small was an understatement. Looked like it came off of a kids menu. When I got the sandwich I had to hunt for sauerkraut. I barely found any. Sent it back. All they did was put a splash more on it. Restaurants keep putting up their prices. Crying the blues but they keep giving customers less and less. This place is barely average now. The server was a good hard worker. Attentive. Nice. What is delivered is poor.
The food is affordable, the rye bread tastes like actual rye bread, and they keep your cup of coffee full. I've been coming for years by myself or with friends and its always worth the trip. My only complaint is I do miss when they were open for dine in 24/7. They still do takeout at night but I miss having somewhere to sit and eat all hours of the night. Hope they bring that back soon 🙏
For those who love a complete, typically local breakfast, and with lots of energy, Fran’s is certainly a great option for your meal. The restaurant is well located, close to bus and metro stops, as well as having private parking in the area and paid parks. The place is usually very busy and there is a waiting list, especially if you are more than 3 people. So, plan ahead and arrive early. The prices of the meals are ok, with something for everyone and everyone's taste. The coffee is refillable, so take advantage of it. The flavor of all the food is very pleasant, so you'll leave satisfied. The service is very good, but a little chaotic, perhaps due to the number of customers. Accessibility for customers with disabilities is not the best. There is no menu in Braille, the entrance and exit do not have automatic closing and the transition within the salon is very tight. To go to the bathroom, the door has a code, ask an employee. For those traveling with children, there are high chairs, but there are no changing tables in the bathrooms. If you are in the area, it is worth visiting and seeing your experience.
While visiting town, a friend recommended I eat here as I was trying to eat some breakfast before meeting up with them. It has a local diner feel and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the Big Breakfast and oh boy, was it a lot of food!! The pancakes were delicious, fluffy and soft, the sausage was cooked to perfection. But the cherry on top was the service. My server was attentive, friendly and on top of everything, anticipating my needs. I did not need to ask her to refill my water or coffee, she was constantly checking in to see how I was doing. Overall, a great experience for my first day in Toronto.
I m at a loss for words over the food we received $18.99 for these nachos that had stale chips, raw veggies, and one glob of cheese ..
You gotta love classic diner food!
Always my favourite diner in the city
Frans has been around for a long time. Lots of parking available- great menu selection. Always happy leaving. Vegetarian options: Yes Parking: Lots of parking Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Busy but good!
Please!!! 24hrs closed!
You can never go wrong with Frans! Havent been in a while. However, they never let me down!
Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available Food
Service was good, atmosphere was okay considering how crowded it was, but breakfast was aggressively average. Frozen breakfast potatoes. Oatmeal came with a small dish of soupy used to be frozen mixed berries. Go down the street to eggspectation for a way better meal.
I had the pleasure of being served by Steven B. during my recent visit to Frans Restaurant, and I can confidently say he made the experience exceptional. From the moment we sat down, Steven was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. He took the time to explain the menu, offered great recommendations, and was always on hand to ensure we had everything we needed. His service was prompt but never rushed, and his warm personality really added to the overall dining experience. Its rare to encounter a server who goes above and beyond in such a thoughtful and personable way, and Steven did just that. I ll definitely be requesting him the next time I visit excellent service all around!
We had a very quick visit there this past Wednesday. All the staff were great, and thank you to Mel (3) for the great service. I really enjoyed my lunch and Mel and thank you Frans. We had the toast and soup, tea, and cranberry juice, it was all great.
Have eaten here on several occasions before going to see a show. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food is great and fast!
$40 Thangsgiving meal. Meat and potatoes were cold. Pumpkin pie served cold. Stuffing and meat and gravy tasted good. Cranberry sauce served in packets. Lol. Just make it fresh. Same for the instant potatoes. Salad was fine, but it was a store bought dressing. A simple vinegrette is easy to make.
The spaghetti and soup were very good. Reasonable price. I recommend it to you.
Great coffee and food every time. It was perfect for any time of day.
Its like a big diner. Great food. Huge place. Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: N/a Parking: Parking across the street. Kid-friendliness: Yes, family friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is a ramp. Well done Frans
Cute restaurant, great food and friendly service. Promptly seated our large party. Will return!
Great breakfast and great servers
The food was excellent, had the breakfast chorizo hash, twice now. Coffee is pretty good too. The service is great.
I went there for my take out order at 3am and despite being so late, the Indian girl serving there was so nice and sweet. We ordered the big breakfast and everything was so fresh. I highly recommend everyone to go there.
This place is NOT 24 hrs . I came all the way here for breakfast (6am) and they don t open till 7 am even though it says 24 hours. I am now stranded in downtown Toronto with nowhere to eat. Awesome.
Great service, great staff and the food is pretty good too!
Owsommee food and service is like food
Lovely n cheap and very central
I visited Frans Restaurant with a good friend of mine when we were downtown. We came in and were seated almost immediately. The server was very polite and brought us both glasses and ice water. We ordered coffee which was served hot with cream for him and milk for myself. We ordered a Montreal Smoked Meat and a Quesadilla. Both were served hot and we enjoyed our meal. Frans Restaurants never have disappointed me when it comes to getting a good healthy meal. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! Highly recommended!
its good for breakfast Kid-friendliness: Very kid freindly Food : 4/5 |
I didn t completely like the location but food was good
So fast! So friendly! So helpful! They are happy to accommodate any request (even European palates)! Food is always delicious morning, lunch and evening! Highly recommended!
My friend and I went to Frans for dinner and Craig made it a great experience for us - definitely regulars now!! Was having a rough day and Craig made it positive - truly a superhero! Have ordered here a couple times as well and the food is always amazing
I love eating here, but they should really inform people that only take out it 24 hours and that it opens for dine in at 7am
Dominic, Worst server. Calling out her fellow servers who are new in front of clients.
Stop showing youre a bad trainer to your new employees Domenic. customers dont have to see it.
Food s good. Great selection.
I love that place i always go to the one at college but i when to this one ... and they never gave me my orange juice (i asked 3 times) i had to chek out without it ... felt like they where not taking me seriously .... and i had a hair at the bottom of me pataties ... so im def not going back there ... hopefully it was not because i was the only brown man there ... but def NEVER GOING BACK THERE !!!!
I was at Frans for Sunday brunch. Got a table really quick, food tastes well, great amount and reasonable price. a bit noisy, not so clean washrooms
Employees are just using there phones and not doing anything
Unfortunately the traditional breakfast was less than satisfying. Warm eggs and bacon, extra crispy potato cubes, burnt toast and warm coffee. Service was excellent.
Diner atmosphere and menu. Excellent service. Not cheap!! Parking: Research nearby parking lots before you go. Wheelchair accessibility: Little ramp at door may be too small fir wide wheelchairs . Its tight inside fir space but walkers no problem.
Had a good experience with my friends there, ate some ribs that were really good with fries and I tried a breakfast option, egg, goat cheese and croissant, also tasty, there are many options and Im sure Ill be back to try different meals.
Food was excellent and came quickly. A minor hiccup in our order was resolved quickly by the attentive staff. A pleasant experience. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: Good kid friendly meno
Love this place, but people need to know its not a 24/hr dine in place anymore. It still says online that theyre 24/hrs but that doesnt necessarily mean you can dine inside and on many occasions over the past couple of years Ive actually been turned away at the door for this reason, sometimes in the dead of winter, because I saw online they were open 24 hours and saw no reviews or anything to suggest their doors are in fact closed for dining in. I dont even know what time in the morning they actually open for dine-in, because they seem to be trying to keep their current reduced availability kind of hushed. I miss pre-covid Toronto
Good food at a reasonable price, friendly staff, fast service, and the bright open interior is great for the mood.
Pretty good food and fast friendly service
I visited during my trip to Canada. There was a staff member who could speak a little bit about Japanese sake, and I was grateful for his kindness. The mushroom eggs benedict was delicious!
Its like a diner. Food tastes as if homemade, natural tasting. Highly recommend.
A friendly bunch of people serving food with a lot of smiles and patience. Good people to dine with in the heart of Toronto downtown.
This restaurant offers very affordable dishes, in a dinner style setting. The cheeseburger was very good. I recommend.
We came across it by chance and ate here a total of 3 times and it was great every time. We had burgers, the salmon and the breakfast as well as pancakes and French toast. Everything was incredibly tasty and not expensive either. The waitresses were always super friendly and very attentive. If I lived here, I would be here all the time.
Best place ever the Employees were amazing the food came fast and the service was Phenomenal
We stopped here because it was close to St. Mikes where I had an appt with my daughter. When we first walked in it smelled great so I was hopeful for good food. Our server was Steven, he was fabulous. When we ordered we opted to split the Philly beef sandwhich meal. In all if our years of sharing meals, usually the meal comes on one plate dropped in front of us and a side plate plopped down beside for us to separate ourselves. At Frans it was equally divided on two plates. Everything was split right down to the pickle. This was such a nice touch. I really appreciated it so much. The food was incredible. My daughter (16) told me shed never before experienced a 10/10! Food was a 10 and service was a 10. The casual conversation with the server was friendly, very welcoming and he had a genuine pride in working at Frans bragging about how great they are. He even made a suggestion for us when we return. We will absolutely be back for another appt on Oct 17th for those pancakes he recommended. Thanks Frans and bigger thanks to Steven. Best service in a very very long time.
I was there yesterday with my family, I order the Calamari. The menu described it as lightly dusted, it was a thick batter and a very thin piece of Calamari in side, it was also very greasy. I was very disappointed. Please do better with the Calamari. However my family enjoyed what they had ordered.
Excellent food and great service.
NIce 24 hour diner downtown Toronto. Food was good, and service was quick. Reasonable prices no wait on a Saturday night.
Food was great, and we were super close to the mall! Our server was also a real delight.
Classic Diner . Have a milkshake itll make your day
Great breakfast food place. I found it to be reasonably priced for breakfast not the inflated prices you usually get with Toronto and loved the old diner vibe
Great omelette, pancakes and rainbow eggs Benedict
Nice 24 hour diner. Good service as well!
Honestly, the food here is pretty bad.
Not a lot of good diners left.. great classic diner. Same great service now as it was 10 years ago and will be 10 years from now. Food
Just no. Everything was bad.
Fantastic food and excellent service. Went for breakfast on Tuesday, it was so good we went back the following day. Xxx
Went on a Tuesday afternoon so wasnt too busy. Staff excellent, food superb especially the Meatloaf. Opposite the Massey Hall and highly recommended.
Great breakfast! Very affordable and filling, I like the regular egg and toast breakfast with endless coffee. Yum!
No disappointment for this classic Diners. Super efficient service.
Variety of food, good price considering the location, you get a feel of home made meals, we went for supper and breakfast, amazing service Kid-friendliness: Just ask for the kids menu, my son was very happy in having a spegati
Everything is delicious. However, everytime we come, we never find the Beef Ribs (and we come at least twice a week). But, as I said before, the food and service is great!
Great, historical diner in the heart of downtown. Frans hasnt changed in years...decades! May not be the best tasting food or most gracious service, but its a Toronto staple right across from Massey Hall and host to countless late night drunken food debaucheries. I hope they never change! Vegetarian options: There are actually some nice vegetarian options at Frans, especially for breakfast. Veggie breakfast sausages and home fries will always have my vote! Parking: Parking is hell here; you can park at the Eaton Centre aboveground parking lot a couple of blocks away (only available while the mall is open, be warned), and thats pretty much it. There is no street parking as its kitty-corner to St. Michaels hospital and the ambulances and other emergency vehicles need all the space they can get on these narrow back streets. Dont even try.
Lovely breakfast
We were blown away there for 3 lunches and three dinners in a row. We have no regrets.
Usually the food is okay here but my food was over cooked (omelette) and tasteless. Always go for the pie, never disappoints Vegetarian options: Theres a few ... Veggie sandwiches and lots of breakfast options if you eat eggs.
Nice sandwiches and milkshakes
We went to Fran s for brunch, the food was really good, however our server was terrible and disrespectful. We had to ask for our food order to be taken, 20 mins for our drinks to be brought which were also messed up. Note: He didn t serve us our food. When we asked for our bills he set all them on the table together and we had to seperate them all. Then he proceeded to ask where we were from, told us we wasted his time, we are f-ing rude, and he hopes he never sees us again. Accused of not tipping, however he did get an 18% tip. Some of the girls were also going to leave cash on the table but after the quick jump to conclusion and insults, we decided not to leave cash on the table and speak to a manager. She politely returned our tips, no questions asked and is going to speak to Brody. All other interactions were great, just a bad apple in the bunch. :)
Great food at reasonable prices. Nice large portions
Ok meal. Nothing special
Mediocre food and service. Had to hunt down the waitress for our bill and any drink refills.
Classic diner experience, no complaints!
Frans Restaurant in Toronto offers a nostalgic diner experience with a modern twist. The menu boasts a great selection of comfort food, from hearty breakfasts to satisfying dinners. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is generally friendly and attentive. However, during peak hours, the wait time can be longer, and some dishes can be a bit inconsistent. Despite these minor drawbacks, Frans is a reliable spot for classic diner fare in the heart of the city.
Morning Glory waffle was so delicious! Will definitely come back.
Food was great and price was reasonable
I had a hearty breakfast, it was expensive like the rest of the country, about CAD$20 (including tax and service): French fries, eggs, 3 small sausages, 2 slices of tomato. It was worth it, as I was very hungry. Note: I dont know if the coffee was free, but the waiter always came by and refilled the cup. The atmosphere is tidy, a mix of traditional and modern. The service is very good. It works 24 hours a day.
Great Eggs Benny and killer home fries.
Kaleigh was our server, on June 30, 2024 - a pleasant person, with excellent customer service skills, and a good sense of humour. Thank you.
Cheap on the French fries
It was my first time back on February 2024 and i enjoyed it with a great company
I can stress enough how amazing this restaurant is. Servicers are so friendly, the atmosphere is always pleasant and the FOOD. THE FOOD!!!! Oh my, I ve been to Frans so many times and the food is always the right temperature, also seasoned well. I can t complain at all.
The restaurant appears to lack cleanliness standards. I received a milkshake in a worn steel cup with dents, which was later transferred to a plastic cup by the servers.
Terrific old diner right across the street from Massey Hall and steps away from the CAA Mirvish theater. The food is tasty and portions generous, and servers are always friendly and attentive. Make sure you save space for dessert! This is one of our go to spots when we have downtown show tickets. Would recommend Frans for a casual bite before a show or if your just looking for a good hearty meal downtown.
Awful food. I got the Shepherds Pie and it was so runny and under-seasoned. The vegetables were just not good. I didnt finish my meal. Would not return again. Food : 1/5
I would give zero stars if possible. Visited & asked for a table for 1 as I travel alone. Girl took me to the other end of the restaurant where no-one else was seated at all & right next to where all the garbage from the kitchen was. She dumped down the menu & cutlery & walked off, even though I said excuse me.... to ask to sit elsewhere. I walked back down myself & eventually an older male member of staff asked me what the problem was... I asked to sit somewhere else, he was rude & off hand put a menu & cutlery on another table & said better?! My response was table - yes, service no and I walked out as he sarcastically told me to have a nice day!! Wouldnt go anywhere near the place.... cant comment on the food as didnt get that far but staff attitude was appalling. Instead I went to Asian Gormet in Little Canada just up the road where they could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Our server Steven served more than just food today. He was so amazing and kind and gave us great recommendations. The food was so good. He created such an amazing environment around us, his aura was insane. Thank you Steven :)
Always a good vibe busy on weekends close to hospital and Massey Hall. Pie is very very good Go in have a meal Food
Always meet the expectation
Great place for food. Any time of the day. Frans is a Toronto institution. Great breakfast or burgers.
Nice waiter. Worst scones I have ever seen in my life. Very disappointing food.
Horrible! The lasagna tasted stale, and like it was under a heat lamp for hours. I should have ordered Wendys.
Huge portions and tasty food. Calamari was delicious. Harvarti Burger was yummy, but pricey (wont be ordering again). Big Breakfast is always a solid choice. Frans Energy Breakfast was disappointing - very dry sandwich with no sauce and not enough cheese.
Dont order the ribs. They are boiled and over sauced.
Best breakfast and brunch near the Eaton Centre! Super cheap too & friendly staff. Food comes quickly! Parking: I d recommend parking at a garage at the mall and walking over
Best traditional big breakfast in Toronto I have had. Stand outs were sausage and potatoes beyond good like wow, but everything else was so good including bacon pancakes and eggs all top shelf.
Frans Restaurant had absolutely impeccable service, food, and very reasonable prices. My partner had a burger and I had their pancakes (cant recommend enough) with a side of sausage, and I also got some of their freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was SO delicious, and our server provided what may have been the best service weve ever received. Finally, I was really pleased to see gender neutral restrooms! Much appreciated. Will absolutely go again when were in town next.
Delicious food, nice portions, and excellent service! Stephen was a great server and constantly predicted my breakfast needs with solid food recommendations. Ill definitely be back!!
Worse than hospital food. Portion is small, and dry and not tasty. Absolutely grossed out. This restaurant is going dooooownhill.
Old-fashioned downtown restaurant with booths and other tables, much the way I remember it from years ago when I was a teenager, except that the wait staff are younger. Its right across from Massey Hall, so can be crowded at times. The food is consistently decent. I had the Portobello Mushroom Benedict, which came with yummy homefries. The fish and chips meal is also good.
Always a lovely experience at Fran s! Fran s is always a busy restaurant and typically can accommodate walk ins with a reasonable wait time. They re very transparent with you on the estimated wait times (if any) Ordered the Chicken Club on Rye and happily enjoyed my meal! Juicy chicken, fresh ingredients and delicious marble rye accompanied by fries. Our server was very attentive and helpful for our quick dinner and left us happy and satisfied. Will always be a return customer of Fran s.
Great service. Love the atmosphere.
Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was super fast and efficient - which was great as we were headed to a show and the wait to get a table in the restaurant was 20 minutes. Worth it.
Food is good. Steve, one of the team members, is exceptional, his service is a big reason we came here everyday with our family while we stayed in Toronto .
Amazing banquet burgers!
Ordered liver and onions for take out, liver undercooked and I mentioned well done. Also very dry, I guess you have to ask for gravy as a side order, ridiculous!!
Great service and decent food that doesnt cost a fortune
Fran would be ashamed. I ordered beer batter fish and chips and served a plate with visible grease and fish coated in batter that had zero taste of beer and was the texture of fried chicken breading. They took an order from another table to replace mine, delaying that tables evening. The server was overly energetic to the point of annoying and tried to watch me use the machine to pay. She also questioned the amount I tipped. This place used to be one of the best diners in the city but has taken a massive slide lately.
restaurant
Typical restaurant with typical American breakfast. There is endless coffee.
Not what it use to be like. Very disappointing.
Came here after work because I was craving something sweet. Ordered chocolate chip pancakes and a tea. The pancakes were delicious, and the tea was good too. I was served very quickly and staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back.
Ordered the clubhouse sandwich. It was pretty inedible. The chicken is IQF (individually quick frozen) it was like paste, horrible texture. The bacon was so overcooked and very salty. I asked for a side of gravy and our server who BTW was extremely friendly and helpful, informed me that they charge $5.00 for a small ramekin of it. I passed.. milkshakes are great!
The BEST breakfast. The morning glory was so good with the fresh apples in maple syrup and waffle was perfect. Coffee was delicious, but I wish the cups were bigger.
All the food was really good, and our waiter was very friendly.
Such a classic, if you enjoy classic. Food : 5/5
Was killing time during a hospital visit down the street, nothing better than an all day breakfast, delicious food, friendly staff, hung out and had a few extra coffees.
I just finished eating at Frans Restaurant at 200 Victoria St., and if I could give zero stars for the food I would. I dont know what happened to the food at this particular restaurant, but a number of years ago it used to be rather good. The 10 ounce steak that I just ate tasted like an old shoe. Granted, I have never actually eaten an old shoe before, but I am quite certain that the New York Striploin that I ate at this restaurant was once used as someones footwear. Hence, I will never eat at this particular restaurant again, but on the plus side, the servers at Frans Restaurant were polite.
Steak & Eggs
Ate here last weekend. Visiting the city for 2nd time in a few months to see my daughter. Informed that this is an iconic venue! So, the morning before we flew back, had a wonderful feed! Some of us had pancakes, some omelette. Lots of choice, quality great & indeed, feels iconic! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Certainly were meat free options. Kid-friendliness: Seems an accepting venue of kids. Wheelchair accessibility: All flat. Would hope accessible.
Used to love coming here until one unfortunate morning my sister saw one of the line cooks pick his nose while working. Havent been back since
Frans is such a charming spot with the best pancakes! This is definitely worth a try if your in the area
Amazing
Typical, family dinner! simple but quality cuisine. Open 24/7...
Went here for breakfast and were very impressed with the food. I enjoyed the rainbow Benedict very much! Cute little diner that we will definitely visit again when we are back in Toronto!
Amazing brunch and great value for your money. Never disappoints! Service is great and friendly also
You cannot go wrong with Fran s! Great classic establishment!
Nice service
Perfect little diner. Prices are fair considering the portion size. Had the scrambled croissant and was blown away by the hollandaise!
Great service great selection, great food. No surprise they have been around so long, Quiet place to eat and mingle with friends, not to pretentious or overbearing.
We went in on a Wednesday evening. It was very quiet so not anyones fault re atmosphere. Service was good and waiter was respectful and nice.Ordered a rack of ribs and chips. Ive eaten ribs before and this was by far the worst Ive eaten. It tasted like it was reheated and it didnt seem to have been pre marinaded. Chips/fries.were passable. The coke appeared to be more water than coke. Wont be returning there
We dont come to Frans as often as we used to. The prices have gotten a tad high for breakfast. But today we were kicked out of our house for a few hours in the morning and decided to give it a try and my god are we glad we did. The food was better than we remembered. The environment was so pleasant and relaxed. And then there was a server. An absolute superstar. Mel took incredible care of us. Coffee was never empty. Meals were perfect despite our substitutions. We felt truly looked after. Thank you for a wonderful start to our day. Frans is officially back on our list of places well think of for breakfast.
Frans is a staple in Toronto. I go there every time I visit the city. Id give the place more stars if I could. They have the BEST all day breakfast. Food
It was great to eat here after soooo many years...
Best breakfast place in downtown Toronto!! Food is delicious, ambience is nice, servers are friendly but most of all i looooove their food!! Vegetarian options: They have waffles, french toast, home fries, veggie sausages and veggie burger!! Staff is really helpful if you dont know what to order for vegetarian food!!
Delicious food. Great service. Wonderful coffee. Went for a 2nd visit and had dinner. Frans club was delicious. Their long Island ice tea was great too. Only downside is they need a drink menu as they couldnt make me a Singapore Sling. Food
Always a great spot to get great food!
An exquisite meal at the 24/7 available Frans on Shuter. Appetizers were a crispy and divine mozzarella cheese stick, with a perfectly acidic marinara. For the entre, I enjoyed a Philadelphia steak sandwich with sweet potato fries, and a side Caesar salad. Across the table had a chicken bacon panini which was equally satiating. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, easily modifiable options too. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu has all the classics Wheelchair accessibility: All one floor
Cute store, good, fast customer service. The food was good. I got french toast with berries with the assumption that the berries would be on the side. However, I was wrong. They came on top of my french toast.. I suppose I should have specified? Anyways because of this, the f.t tasted very berry like which I did not enjoy.
Great breakfast option, great location.
Absolutely amazing breakfast, served all day. Steven is a great waiter, took great care of us and our baby. Would recommend the pancakes!
We stayed in the hotel next to Frans and ate at Frans every day! Food was delicious and servers are so friendly. Would recommend
The overnight crew are awesome there a great bunchi always go there on my nights. Polite welcoming and have good customer service
Breakfast was decent in terms of preparation and wait time. 25$ is what that gets you. Cant deny that it was delicious though
They have tater tots!!
FransTastic
I had lunch at Fran s at least three times this month and all the times I had a great experience. The food was tasty and the service was fast and reliable. I really recommend it!
If you re craving traditional breakfast, I would recommend trying the Big Breakfast plate. I substituted the home fries for the garden salad, but the sausage and bacon were super delicious, crispy yet not greasy at all. Pancakes were also good texture, not too thick. I got over easy eggs, but I found it to be too runny for my preference. Overall was happy with my choice. I also recommend their orange juice!
The egg Benedicts were really good. Orange chicken was also a good dish. Their coffee blends and milkshakes are recommended. Burgers could have been better though.
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Reasonably priced! Great service.
I tried late night ( early morning) takeout , they served swiftly. Orange chicken was different, one should try. It s sweetish rice dish. Another item with chicken fry wasn t that great. Food
The special ribs on Thursdays are great. It s enough for two. the waiters are friendly too.
Great place for some diner food and wholesome customer service. Went twice in three days. I love that they refill your coffee. Highly recommend this place to start off your day as a visitor.
Waffle was small and barely warm, not even close to being worth the price. Service is excellent though.
