Bringing the best authentic Egyptian dishes to Canada with a mix. of street food and traditional food along with tasteful traditional desserts and drinks to give you the best Egyptian experience.
Soo many options to have middle eastern breakfast and decided to do Egyptian again because it's next to Kunafa's (next stop, lol) . Service was amazing, the owner was super nice. We went for fateer pizza...meat and cheese and hawashi (yes, diet starts Monday!!) Food was sooo fresh and tastefu and kabeeeer. Super happy we stopped by!
This place is amazing! The moment we walked in, it just felt so warm and welcoming, like we were visiting family. If you are craving real authentic Egyptian food, you must try it. The owner is the kindest person, he is so friendly and attentive
We tried Koshary, bechemal pasta with ground beef and mixed grill plate with beef and chicken. The Koshary and Bechamel Pasta was amazing. Extremely unique flavors. Mixed grill plate was like any other Kabab place. Everything is made to order and fresh. The service was phenomenal. Owner/chef Amrou guides you through the menu and explains his dishes before you order them. You can tell he cooks with passion and love. We will definitely go back. They have some other items that we look forward to try like their traditional Egyptian breakfast, falafel, etc.
Amazing food and service. The kofta and chicken sheesh tawooq were juicy and tender.
Excellent authentic Egyptian food especially lamb kebabs and Molokhia. Great service as well!
Probably one of the bestest hidden gems that must be discovered being surrounded by food haven. I must say it exceeded my expectations 👍🏻 I started with eggplant mousakka and it was delicious with extremely harmonious flavour. No tanginess or sourness. Just perfect. The Macaroni Béchamel was rich & creamy with very tasteful beef. The Hawaoshi is definitely a must, very authentic! We got to try their newest addition their charcoal grilled kababs. The Mix Kabab platter had everything for a complete meal shareable with family. The beef Kafta and lamb cubes very melting in the mouth. So were chicken Kafta & Shish Tawouk. Infused with flavours and grilled on charcoal they’re supremely delish. The drinks are also very refreshing 😋👍🏻 You can tell how fresh the food is from the moment you take your first bite. Everything served here is Uber fresh & tasteful. Do check out this amazing Egyptian restaurant with the most authentic Egyptian food Highly recommended! 👌🏻
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Kabeer Awi, an Egyptian restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. The flavors were bold and vibrant, and every dish I tried was bursting with fresh ingredients. The customer service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to answer any questions I had and helped me choose dishes that I would enjoy. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Al Kabeer Awi and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Egyptian meal. The combination of outstanding food and friendly service makes it a true gem.
I had a delightful experience at this restaurant this afternoon. The convenient location and ample parking set the tone for a positive visit. The restaurant's cleanliness and well-organized menu made it easy to explore a variety of traditional Egyptian dishes, which were promptly served. The food, including سجق, كبده, حواوشي, and cairo royal beef, exceeded my expectations in taste and quality. Upon the chef's recommendation, I tried حلاوة بالقشطة, and it was truly exceptional. The freshly baked "فينو" bread added another layer of freshness to the meal. The staff were not only efficient but also friendly and welcoming. The clean and comfortable washroom facilities were an added plus. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of delicious and authentic Egyptian dishes. A big thank you to the entire team for providing such a memorable dining experience!
One of the best experiences of service and delicious food. This is run by a husband and wife. The food tastes like someone invited you into their home. You can taste the patience and love. Perfectly seasoned, everything was hot!
I just visited this place and tried Egyptian cuisine for the first time and it was the best food that my husband and me tried this year. The host there is so kind and has the bests suggestions if you re trying this cuisine for thr first time. We ordered the kebab platter and it was DELICIOUS !!!!!
Really good and tasty,Great Egyptian food, I love it
Great food and really tasty
The food is really tasty and the drinks also i recommend
The best
Best place to enjoy meal with family and definitely I will recommend my friends and family to come there
The owner is nice but we came here specifically for Egyptian food only to find out that most of it has been discontinued and removed from the menu only to be replaced with a kebab menu (suspiciously after the allepo kebab across from them got locked out). I can understand adding kebab to the menu but to remove almost all the Egyptian food (except for a few classics) is like going to a Chinese restaurant and being told they stopped service rice and Chinese food and now concentrate on English breakfast sandwiches. Very disappointing as it was nice to have found a place that (was supposed to) served Egyptian cusian as its not common.
Food was great. Great and friendly service.
Another visit to this restaurant and yet food has the same delicious taste like before along with their excellent customer service. Ive been to Alkabeer few times since they opened earlier this year and am really happy to have this outstanding Egyptian restaurant in Lawrence area. I tried many menu items and they have been all cooked with perfection, authentic touch as well as amazing taste - to name a few , I tried Chicken Lovers, Hawawshi, Falafel, Fava beans, Kebda, Scrambled Eggs With Basterma. Super friendly service. Great job guys and see you soon.
I ordered online via Uber Eats, half a chicken which wasn t well cooked with red inside and bad taste, the meat Feteer was barely average and it s not an authentic Egyptian Meat Feteer, it s just average Normal Feteer dough with pizza topping and not even that good, the only thing which was a bit good is the Bashamel pasta. Really awful experience unfortunately.
Cheap ingredients. We ordered nutella feteer and we had a chocolate syrup instead. Om Ali isn t authentic and didn t taste good either.
Owner is very respectful and accommodating. Food is amazing, definitely will be going again, I highly recommend it for all Egyptian food lovers.
Hi i was there for dine in and the old man was so rude i don t recommend this place for anyone.
I was there in that restaurant they are very rude with us
This place is a hidden gem! Right when I saw the name, I thought, What a creative and easy-to-pronounce name for an Egyptian restaurant. I hadn t heard of it before, as it s still fairly new, but I stumbled across it while in the area. I have a favourite Egyptian restaurant in the GTA but I always love to try any new Egyptian spot I see. This was a unique experience as it offers a different vibe. This restaurant felt more like a takeout-style place rather than fine dining. In fact, I almost forgot to pay at the end since I m so used to paying upfront at these types of places. As soon as you enter, you re greeted by the very kind owner, who explained the menu and helped me decide what to try. I was torn between a skewer plate, a sandwich, or one of the main Egyptian meals. I ended up going with the Macarona Bechemel, and it was excellent! I initially planned to save some for my family, so I asked for a takeout container, but that didn t happen I ended up finishing the whole plate on the spot, haha. This place really serves authentic Egyptian food. It didn t feel like I was eating at a restaurant but rather at my tayta s house back in Egypt. I d describe it more as an authentic restaurant you would find in Masr compared to an upscale dining experience in Egypt. It s definitely worth checking out and I can t wait to return to try more of their dishes.
Nice Egyptian food. Barbecue perfect hawawshi. Great taste om Ali
I told you people this place is so bad the owner he came to you with a big smile and big welcome to get your order but after that bad service bad food expensive with so rude and if you complain to the owner, tell you don t worry next time, but it still charge you whatever it is Bad food with bad service. I think the chef he just learning to do the stuff as is think his self is home count to the 10 before you go eat there.
Amazing food and great service
I had a wonderful lunch experience at this restaurant! The service was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly friendly and attentive. The quality of the food was outstanding fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.
Ordered 2 kakobs cost $20, 10 cheap little cubes, don t recommend. Time to find something else to eat.
The food was so bad and doesn t taste good! And the customer service 0 out of 10!!! I will never come back again
To be honest, I came to the restaurant twice before and the food was good, but on the last visit everything was bad. The moussaka and koshari every time we ask them to add something, and the molokhiya is like watery, with no taste or anything. And the day I spoke to them, they said, We will only see who cooked it and did not try to modify it. There is no service or taste
The food was delicious. The kabob was very tasty. The chicken was moist and very tasty. Well worth it! Dietary restrictions: Halal food
Authentic Egyptian food I didn t believe how amazing the food was. If you re looking for best quality food and made with care, this is the place to go. Food : 5/5
It was my first time trying there food and omg it was so amazing
They did a good job on the marketing, branding and overall atmosphere but I suggest using slightly larger containers to make sense with the price and to gain customers, this is a message I hope the restaurant owners will pay attention to, we will continue with you as customers, good luck
Delicious! The service was excellent.
Food was ok. Think some salt would have elevated each dish.
The owner/ chef was very inviting. the food was very basic and no flavor. I tried one of their sandwiches which was so blend and no flavor at all. the sandwich cost me around$14 before taxes. I would suggest everyone to go somewhere else maybe go across the street where there is a great restaurant.
Ingredients were fresh and the food was served hot and crispy and I really liked it. They really make each dish with love. I put a little more salt on it on top of it but thats just my own preference.
Finally real Egyptian Food
Wide variety of Egyptian food options, tastes amazing, friendly family business staff. I tried and totally recommend the beef liver (kebda eskandrany) not spicy option available, mombar, pasta bachamel, hawawshy, mix grill platter, molokhya, rice, and Om Aly for dessert. I hope they open a branch in Ottawa Parking: Free parking at the plaza Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly staff, kid friendly food, kid friendly atmosphere
Friendly staff and delicious food :)
Good food, prepared quickly. Would def come back but what made this place stand out for me was the Service and the kindness of the owner. Lovely people!!!
Amazing coffee ang good food.
There is nothing more beautiful than this Amazing food, also people
Good food, great host and atmosphere, but please reduce your oil use. The Hawawshi was swimming in oil and the Macaroni Bechamel was super oily. Those dishes are already heavy by nature and dont really need the help of additional oil. Id suggest air frying or baking the hawawshi as opposed to deep frying, and reducing the amount of cheese in the Macaroni Bechamel. Otherwise, everything else was top notch.
This place deserves to be more famous than this. A hidden gem
Absolutely amazing!!! We tried ImAli dessert and it was beyond delicious!!! 1000% must try. The owner is great guy very friendly! Kept checking on us making sure we are having a great time. Big thanks to Amr
I would like to thank owner for his consistent clean atmosphere, same great food quality overtime. I would highly recommend to try the koshry and Falafel Sandwiches. Great welcoming and customer service. Thanks and keep it up!
Tasty food, perfect customer service, people there are very friendly and welcoming and the koshary is delicious
Tasty food and very friendly service. I recommend them for everyone looking for authentic Egyptian food and everyone looking for tasty food and reasonable price. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options like koshary and Molokhyah. Dietary restrictions: All their food are Halal. Parking: Parking was easy to find and it s free
Wonderful hospitality, very tasty food. Real authentic Egyptian food. Great experience. Love it
I tried Koshari ..feteer ..om Ali ..all taste good.
Loved the hawawshi and the falafels
The molokhiya was authentic and tasty. Mix platter was great too.

The best food u ever gone try best sandwiches ever
Beef curry and Eggplant dish both served fresh, hot and with amazing hospitality!
Excellent koshari and the best in the city Thank you Food
The owners nice, but honestly the food is flavourless and basic. Definitely not up to par with the area and probably won t last long. Unfortunate because this area really needed a good Egyptian spot but this place is low quality.
Great experience here at al kabeer awi. We got hawawhsy, koshari, and the alexandrian liver dish. All were delicious especially the liver. The food was very comforting and it took me back to that feeling of having Egyptian food in Egypt. The service was amazing and everyone was welcoming. If you re looking for that Egyptian street food flavour, this is your spot!
Amazing Experience
The owner is very rough. He should educate himself about how to behave to the customers.
One of the worst behaviors ever to have seen
Worst behavior and services
Bad behavior
very good environment. food are very good and so delicious. I like it and service is very good
Let us stay past closing and accomodated. Super friendly. Enjoyed the dinner
The best Egyptian food ever.
excellent quality, amazing customer service. highly recommended.
Parking: 2B Al Kabeer Awi Food
Worst experience ever. The guy forgot to put the rice in my order and then sent me another order charging me $22 dollars. After I called them to inquire, the person entertaining was rude. After this argument, he said, I dont wanna see you here any more. I mean, the food isnt worth giving you guys another try. I literally paid $74 dollars just to feed two. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
Ful, moussaka, and taamiya were amazing. The staff were very kind and friendly! Definitely coming again
Amazing taste and amazing people
Dietary restrictions: Halal Food
Absolutely amazing
One of the finest food places Ive been too for an authentic meal, the eggplant was delicious and the dessert was legit the cherry on the cake with a touch of their age old recipe carrying ahead the legacy of deliciously crafted meals!! Go book your seats now Vegetarian options: great veg options too Parking: yes they are available too
Al Kabeer Awi in Lawrence, Scarborough, is a hidden gem offering a delightful culinary adventure with its diverse menu and inviting ambiance. My recent visit was nothing short of spectacular, featuring delicious dishes and top-notch service. The Chicken Lover Plate stole the show with its succulent, well-seasoned pieces that were bursting with flavor. The Half Oven Roasted Chicken was another highlight, boasting a perfectly crispy skin and juicy, tender meat. The Eggplant dish was a pleasant surprise, delivering rich, savory flavors with a perfect blend of spices, making it a must-try for both vegetarians and meat lovers. For dessert, the Om Ali was a dream come true. This traditional Egyptian treat was warm, creamy, and perfectly sweet, leaving a lasting impression. In short, Al Kabeer Awi excels on all fronts from the outstanding food to the friendly service. Its the perfect spot for anyone looking to savor exquisite Middle Eastern cuisine in Scarborough. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: Eggplant
Delicious food! I ahd the eggplant dish, very flavorful and satisfying. The service was also excellent, didnt rush us to leave even though we were there past closing time. Thanks so much will definitely be back :)
The koshary is legit ! The Tamiya will make you forget what a falafel is. Definitely going again. A great sit down place with friendly staff. Kid-friendliness: Have highchairs.
I ordered Takeaway Koshari. I would like to invest the packaging money in adding extra tomato sauce, extra dry onions, and spicy sauce. (Onions have no taste as if they were old.)
The service is great, the staff are.polite and very helpful, quiete eager to make sure you get the best out of the experience. The food is very tasty and you could tell they do pay attention. Highly recommend
My parents and I came to try the restaurant and ordered a wide variety of dishes. Koshary, bechamel, liver, sojouk, hawawshi, eggplant moussaka. Absolutely all of them were fantastic. The food was fresh and the prices are very affordable. The service was excellent, the owner was very friendly and checked in regularly on us to make sure all was well. Highly recommend this place for those craving quality Egyptian food or for those wanting to give it a first try. We will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available. Parking: Parking in the plaza
Very good quality of Egyptian delicacies, including kushari, hawawshi (ground beef sandwiches in egyptian bread), and mulukheyya (thick spinach-like soup). If you re only here for the sweets, don t miss the perfectly sweetened um ali. More to come on to the four month old menu, as indicated by the very cordial owner who served us.
I tried this place today , the food was amazing . I will defenitly be back
Previously the location was Shinwa Hakka food. It s now an Egyptian restaurant. Authentic Egyptian restaurant Must try mom barBeef casing stuff with rice. Delicious.Beef liver is not just tasty, the right amount of spice makes the dish also HOT Come on ! If you don t order the Egyptian rice you are not eating Egyptian food. Don t miss the hot sauce Friendly staff petite restaurant tasty food. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of the day. Enjoy enjoy enjoy. Recommend everyone should go once
Great local Egyptian spot with delicious authentic food! I ordered the bashamel and the 3 sandwich meal w/fires. Food was fresh, seasoned and clearly made with love. As an Egyptian I definitely felt satisfied today :) The service was great as well and everyone was very welcoming. I definitely recommend on your next night out!
Just had my Hawawshi with meat and falafel sandwich, and I loved it! Thanks for the great service.
Delicious food .. best service.. good vibes
My first experience in this restaurant. It has a special Egyptian atmosphere, and I very much liked the taste of the food, the service. Thank you, and I will come back
I m love the place it s has good service and food
I had an amazing experience and the food was great
Finding authentic Egyptian cuisine in Toronto is rare. I recently visited this restaurant for the first time. Let s just say that this place does not disappoint and it definitely won t be my last time dining there. The food is incredible and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the Koshary! It truly felt like I was back home eating my favourite meal!
Great food and friendly service! Really enjoyed it.
We had the Hawaoshi with Fries and it was absolutely delicious
I had an amazing experience while visiting this restaurant. The food is delicious, service is great.Prices are reasonable for good quality ingredients they are cooking. It did improve for better since it openned earlier this year. Would go there more often if lived closer. Strongly recomment it to everyone i know. Kid-friendliness: Went with my 2 kids and they lived it.
One star because there is no other option for less than one star. If there was, I wouldnt hesitate. This place/ restaurant needs to reassess how it operates. They are not selling rare artifacts or precious metals, yet they price their food as if it is. Prices dont fit the quality and the portions. It seems that they would rather grab the quick buck than maintain a repeat customer and build a good reputation. I have also noticed that so many reviews are written by accounts IN EGYPT. So many of these accounts reviewed and rated businesses that are ONLY located in Egypt, and then all of a sudden they have a review for AL Kabeer Awi in Toronto.!! ONLY ONE REVIEW OUTSIDE EGYPT.?! Its so funny how one of these people reviewed a restaurant in Cairo and said (the best Ramadan suhoor) and then 2 days after he wrote a review for AL Kabeer Awi in Toronto and said the best food ever.!! And again ONLY one review outside Egypt. Please stop this nonsense. My advice is try to play it smart., dont keep it all 5*. Try to give yourself some 4* so that it looks believable. As you can see, I have never bothered to review or rate any place before, but I felt this was belittling our minds.
Great Egyptian food! The Koshari and Beef Liver Sandwich were very tasty. Real Egyptian flavours. Good prices and big portions.
I went yesterday with my family. The food wad excellent.I loved the pasta. It was really fresh.Thr best thing was the service I would say.The owner is so nice.So friendly. He asked us before giving some treats to the kids - that was really nice of him.He came several times and asked about the food.We will definitely visit again.
All foods were delicious.
Hands down best Egyptian falafel in town. We tried almost everything in their menu. Everything tasted authentic and delicious.
We had a great experience trying traditional Egyptian delights like kebda and sausage sandwiches, flavorful Egyptian falafel, and the iconic koshary with its delicious sauce. Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Overall, it was a fantastic culinary journey through Egypts flavors, and I cant wait to go back for more! Highly recommend!
Delicious food, excellent customer service, we enjoyed our food and felt that the place is very cozy and real authentic. We ordered kebda, kushari, mombar, and bachamel. The food is full of flavour and not spicy (which is I love cuz Im allergic to spicy food) The prices are very reasonable and decent with the portions. Keep up the good work
Best Egyptian place in town. Highly recommended.
The service was absolutely phenomenal, the food was subpar. We ordered koshary, it s alright but not worth $10 in my opinion too expensive. Ordered 2 Kebda sandwiches, they were a little tough and lacked flavour. We also ordered 1 soujouk but the bread was literally falling apart and it s basically the hot dog bun bread Good atmosphere but I don t think I ll be coming back
Delicious food great service amazing people
The food taste is very good, we tried the rice pudding and it was very tasty, OM Ali also was very good and Hawawshi was good
Om Ali was really tasty and lovely, would come here again. The staff were friendly and really nice. Food
The food tastes great. Very good service and a very clean and organized place . The food is nice, hawawshii is super good. Om ali is also good . Recommend, owners and staff is super nice people also.
Great food, cozy spot and very affordable. Wish them best of luck going forward.
Nice restaurant, food is good but the Kibda and sogok needs some improvement in their quality. I tried the Koshary, Misa2a, Macarona bil bashamil and their Rice putting with chocolate. These dishes were very tasty and really good. Overall I highly recommend the place and I will definitely be visiting more.
The food was average, although it was a bit too oily. Moreover, we were overcharged compared to the menu prices without any prior confirmation.
Extremely traditional and gives you a true Egyptian atmosphere and cuisine the food is so delicious way more better than the most of Egyptian restaurants i have tried
Food was great,i tried different dishes and all of it was amazing
Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food Especially koshari and falafel that makes you feel home away from your home And their impeccable service Food : 5/5
Very delicious Egyptian food. Excellent service. Vegetarian options: Egyptian falafel and Koshary Food : 5/5 |
I tried the Mombar, koshary and hawawshi. It tastes amazing. It brought the taste of backhome. Good job and keep going
Very nice customer service, good food been here multiple times. Recommend this restaurant to anyone that passes by. Will be coming more often.
Finally a good Egyptian restaurant in Scarborough! Customer service is top tier. Very good and authentic Egyptian food. Will be coming back multiple times!
Um Ali and Bacahmel
Super friendly staff, authentic flavourful food for a reasonable price. Excited to try their new menu items. As an Egyptian, I can say that I finally found my go to spot for backhome food. Food
The food was so delicious that I would definitely go back and Try the whole menu. Definitely must try please for authentic Egyptian food
10/10 food!!!
A taste of Egypt in Canada
My family was happy here, the food is amazing, Staff are welcoming, the restaurant is generally having an easy way for parking. I usually come here and every time, I am more happy with a new experience
One of the best Egyptian restaurants in GTA, the customer service is amazing, the prices are reasonable, the staff is kind, and the taste is extremely delicious.
The staff is so polite and pays attention to the nitty details. The food is very delicious, and the taste reminds me about the genuine taste of street food in Cairo. The quality and cleanliness are above and beyond, and much better than most egyptian restaurants in GTA, though the prices are reasonable and much cheaper than those rivals. highly recommended
Very delicious food, clean restaurant. Nice stuff. Thank you Khuloud you helped us to choose the best food Food : 5/5
Great service, great food
Friendly staff, excellent location, nice atmosphere.. and the food is great
One of the best Egyptian restaurants in the GTA hands down
Its first time for me and my family here. We had an amazing time. Delicious Egyptian food . Hawawshy and Bashamel pasta was sooo good. Were so happy with the good service and welcoming
The food is very nice, it reminds me of Egypt, and the treatment is very respectful. Very well done. Excellent service
Great food and selection of Egyptian meals. Everything is fresh, tasty and authentic. Keep providing the best service! Food
I was happy to try new cuisine for me. Egyptian food is delicious and interesting. My favorite meal so far is Hawawshi and liver sandwiches. Try this place!
Note: (this review includes the reply to the the owner). 1 - Whoever thought this was Egyptian food, didnt know what Egyptian food was. 2 - The type of service was just the type that says we will sweet-talk you as long as we get your money. The food was very cold. We ordered Bechamel pasta and it came cold and watery. All their sandwiches are very tiny, you get HALF a bread with ONLY 2 falafels in it for $7.!!.? Sajouk (Egyptian sausage). You get 2 VERY small sausages cut into four pieces inside half a sandwich for $4.50 IF YOU BUY THREE halves for $12. The owner said we make the BEST hawawshi, so I ordered one. It was a very thin layer of ground meat with LOTS of fat for $11.99.!!!? It did not taste good at all. Worse than all that was when I asked for some tahini sauce, they brought a tablespoonful and charged me $1.49. My husband asked for some pickles, and they gave us 4 pieces of pickles and charged us $5.99. IT IS WELL KNOWN that pickles and tahini sauce come free with the food in all Middle Eastern restaurants, just like ketchup and mustard. This is what they call service.!!!? I have been to many Egyptian restaurants in Mississauga and they have way better food and service. For example, I go to Al-Omda, and all the food I order including sandwiches, comes with salad and pickles besides the pickles that they bring as appetizers. The atmosphere was ok, but their seating area was small. You can hear everyones conversation. No music playing or anything. I wouldnt trust all these 5 * reviews that they have. If this restaurant continues working with this system, soon its name will change to El- soghaier awi. meaning (the very small). Reply to the owner. Yes, I did go to the supermarket, because you told us the food will take time to prepare. We came back and we waited OVER 15 minutes for the food. 2 People came after us while we were at the supermarket and their food was served before ours. So, if my food was ready, why did I have to wait for more than 15 minutes after I came back. ? To the point where I had to go to your counter and ask about our food. I know nothing is free, and everything is included in the price at other restaurants, but you failed to include anything. The flafel sandwich, we asked for no toppings and only tahini. Yet, the sandwich came with two flafels and very dry. We asked for the tahini on the side and we get charged for it. You are clearly not willing to take constructive criticism, as Im sharing my experience and you say that Iam someone with an ulterior motive.?? All I did was compare restaurants and give feed back. I wish you good luck, and all the best in your business.
Overpriced with small portions
Great vibes and excellent food
Best Staff.. Best Oriental Food
I feel that I am in Egypt Good job keep going Food : 5/5
Best food ever and best service, thank u so much it was really a great experience.

I loved eating at the restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing and homey and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. My new favourite restaurant! Definitely coming back!
THEY HAVE THE BEST ARAB FOOD EVER Definitely worth a try!
Ammmmmaaaazing experience
I like this restaurant because it s one of my favourites and it has the best service.
What a wonderful place with excellent service and high quality ingredients I recommend it to anyone interested in Egyptian cuisine.
Amazing food!! Would definitely go again
average experience, overpriced, kebda/liver is not the Alexandrian way, big liver pieces and adding Tahini on top is not how to eat it in Alexandria, sodok/sausages empty sandwich full of veggies not meat, for $10 its way overpriced, koshari with brown rice, big onion chunks, Om Ali is overpriced too, came with no nuts and too much milk, embarrassing that my Canadian friend didnt like the food and said Im overrating our Egyptian kitchen
Bad service you order your food you have to wait long time to get your food And will bring the food is wrong order and super expensive with bad service. If I can put lower on one star I will do and I don t advise anybody go to this place. and a lot of fake review you can tell by the date and the time
Dont be fooled by the fake 5* reviews that are all made by accounts with 1 review history.. What is the coincidence that after every bad review they get, comes more than TEN 5* reviews, and again all written by people that have no other reviews on their profile.. it is very obvious. I had a horrible experience as the food is not authentic, quality is very low, and quantities are VERY small for the prices they charge. Service is very poor.
So good I go here all the time with my family and we all love it. They say it s the best food they ve ever eaten.
Best Egyptian food in Canada. Tasty food, great staff. Thank you very much.
The moment I stepped in I felt like I was back in my home country . The staff were extremely helpful they sat me down and brought me a menu the second I looked at the menu I knew I was going to have good lunch. 10 minutes after I ordered . my food was on the table ready for me .that never happened to me .the best part was probably how everything I tried was exactly like I was eating in Egypt
Very tasty plates specially the Tae3meyya
Excellent food! Really flavorful Egyptian street food style, high quality ingredients. Staff is quite friendly. Will definitely be back.
It was so nice The sogok taste was amazing and the sandwich was so big Highly recommended Food : 5/5
This what i get hawashi without any tahini sauce or even pickles i dont know
I really wanted to love this place but it s so so bad. Hawawshi is very small with too much fat. No tahina no pickles with any of the food. Pasta bachamel very bland. Ful is just canned ful you can make at home for $1. Everything is very pricey compared to quantity and quality. I don t mind paying a lot for good food. But I would not return even if it was for free.
It s a great place and seems very authentic. However, as an Egyptian food lover and Koshary expert, I have a couple points that got me somewhat disappointed. 1. The Koshary lacked a couple essential ingredients which are short cut spaghetti and chickpeas. 2. The spicy sauce wasn t bad but it could be more intense as I used up the whole thing and it wasn t really doing much. 3. The pasta to rice ratio could be improved, the rice and lentils were dominating the dish. 4. The quality of the elbow macaroni was noticeably bad. It felt a slightly bit more rubbery than it should have been.
I have been to many Egyptian restaurants in Canada but honestly this place has to win both my heart and my stomach. Beyond amazing service and the food is just on point highly recommend this place will be back very soon to try the rest of the menu :)
I went with my son and daughter to try out the food and I can say we were all very impressed and happy with the food and the service I haven t had the chance to eat good Egyptian food in 15 years and now I can say I found my to go place Highly recommend Food
Definitely gotta make a trip back! Owner is helpful and the atmosphere is great.
Where I can start from, the food prices are very high compared to the amount and the medium quality, two bites foul sandwichwill cost you 7 dollars!!!! if you want to try Egyptian food, I will highly suggest Mahas place. The place is so small and the service is too slow even the place was empty. Food : 3/5
Great food, amazing service, we tried the Alkabeer sandwich, kebda sandwich and hawawshi. Highly recommended
Calling This place authentic Egyptian is like calling Taco Bell authentic Mexican. It s a disgrace! It was my fault to trust the fake 5 star reviews. there is No hummus, no baba ganoush, no kofta, no bbq meats, no tawook, So think to yourself, how authentic is this place? But seeing how the food tastes, I wouldn t recommend adding anything to the menu before fixing what they already have. The plates and sandwiches are so small and the taste is very bad. It is just over-priced hospital food. The dessert was cake crumbs with raw crunchy rice for $9 we all left hungry & headed straight to McDonald s. I recommend trying Sumas on O Connor, it is close to this place location wise. But food wise it is no where near close. Sumas is much much better!!
So delicious!!
One of the best Egyptian food I have!
We tried the sandwiches. The food was good quality same as Egyptian food quality. But the price is too much expensive compared to the amount it served as you pay 10$ for half patia bread.
Really delicious! I loved it. Service was friendly and portions were excellent for the price.
I went there many times with my friends and we enjoyed our meals there. Hawawshi, flafel, sausage, beef liver with bran, bashamil pasta, om Ali and recently mombar everything was very delicious. The owners and the employees are very nice and friendly
I want to share my review in the lovely restaurant Al kabir awi. Ive tried 3 different dishes in 3 visits: koshari mombar and falafel, and I dont hesitate to order the amazing dessert plate om ali every time. Small and cozy place. Real authentic Egyptian food. The chef was very friendly and came to check on how our food was. Most importantly, really good food.
