Their pastry is the best! I ve ate fudge brownie and almond croissant both of really good. However them customer service is not good. Especially old guy barista. I always feel bad because him but I can t stop going there bc I love pastries lol If you don t expect to customer service this is good place.

Coffee is great but its impossible to drink it in a cup, its all unrecyclable garbage cups and its the classic ask for a tip BEFORE I got my coffee because there is no service. Please consider serving coffee in real cups and stop offloading your garbage to the world.

My most favourite barista in all of Toronto works here. Donny makes me the most consistently PERFECT iced americanos and cortados all the while singing harmonies with me to whatever tunes hes playing. I get my daily dose of karaoke, music chat, and seasonal tarts with an entire massive wall of insightful filosophies to keep me going in this wild world. A gem in the city and a gem of a server <3

Are the phyllos spectacular? Sure. Does the spanakopita have the perfect balance of feta and lemon? Yes. But holy heck you haven t lived until you ve tried the Nutella baklavas!

Beautiful interior, good service, a HUGE variety of baked goods and drinks (even at the end of the day). As a Greek, Id rate their Greek desserts highly. The tulumba was dry on the outside, but dont be fooled, it was perfect on the inside!

Lots of seating. Patio as well. Coffee (latte, iced latte, iced americano, americano, flat white, drip coffee) are all great. Been here several times. Love the Jamaican patties and other pastries as well. No complaints. Great service. Please buy another payment processing machine.

The cosiest café, especially during the winter holidays!

Nice vibe. The menu is extensive. There are seatings inside and out. I enjoyed sitting outside. I had a Greek coffee. It s ok. A bit weaker comparing to what I had in Greektown. Free wifi is a plus.

The front counter staff were so attentive and professional that I thought they were the owners. The volume of repeat customers coming in would indicate that I am not the only one impressed.

I get coffee from there every morning. It is one of the smoothest cups of coffee I have had around Toronto it is not delicious, it simply tastes satisfying and comfortable. Instead of that sharp sting that often comes at the end of a sip of coffee, their coffee has flavours that all meld together . On top of that, the pastries and sweets are definitely delicious. I find it hard to resist, it really takes a lot of self-control. To top it off, the ambience is welcoming, their choice of background music makes me bob my head often, and the staff always greets me with a smile and my usual order. As a matter of fact I am about to go grab my second large cup of coffee of the day, as writing this review has tempted me. The staff and the goods are awesome at Filosophy, highly recommend.

I hang out here while waiting for my dance session in the Dovercourt house. This is the only cafe that opens until 7pm in the area (most cafes closes at 6pm). And that s how I discovered this cute and super philosophical little cafe. I like the interior design. The space is long and narrow. There are under 10 small round tables and a pretty comfy long leather sofa along the wall in front of the counter. It s also very considerate that every seat has access to an outlet. At the back of the seat, there are interesting pop-philosophical quotes written in chalk all over the wall. On the other side, it is the barista counter with a brick wall background and wooden shelves and menu. The space has high ceiling and warm hanging lights. I had a decaf cappuccino. It s nice but nothing impressive. They have savoury filo pastries (hence the name) and a good variety of a sweet bakeries. The sweet bakeries don t look too attractive, and I felt like I d be disappointed if I ordered one.

Very cute and small coffee shop.. it was full when my friend and I went, couldn t sit inside. I ordered a beet latte, it was a bit disappointing. I love beet lattes and this one just tasted like steamed milk. They have a lot of different options for food and drinks, I ll probably try something else next time. Service was friendly, I d definitely return.

I absolutely love this place, great deserts and treats , fantastic coffee, good for on the go or sit in. That said , they don t seem to care if someone brings an animal in the establishment which I find repulsive and Unhygienic. Unless it s a service dog there s laws in place against bringing animals into spaces that serve or handle food. That was a slight turn off for me otherwise I d give them a full 5 stars ! Had the beef pie and a latte. Beef pie was super flaky, not too buttery and with just the right amount of spice. It was also clearly fresh The latte was good, but amazing considering the price. I ve paid as much as 50% more for a similar latte elsewhere

Delicious pastries! I had the peanut butter cup (vegan) and it was so decadent - did not taste vegan at all. I also had the pecan square and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. I ve had both a cappuccino and hot chocolate from here and both were great, will definitely return! Edit: Returned and got a cappuccino and baklava! Friends got vegetarian pastries. Delicious once again!

Very cute place. Loads of delicious desserts, I had the molten lava cake, and it was great. Coffee is delicious too. They make the most of the space to offer lots of seating but it can feel a little cramped. Nice outdoor seating too.

I didnt know I liked apple fritters until I had the Filosophy apple fritter. Its AMAZING! Honestly all the pastries are fantastic. Also, the staff are so nice and helpful.

I have been there a couple weeks ago and had a great cappuccino but this time it was one of the worst Ive ever had. The sweets and food are good but depending who makes your coffee, one may be lucky or not.

Excellent milkshakes! You can choose from their ice cream flavours. I got the vanilla chai and it was awesome. The place can get a bit crowded when its busy but overall it has great atmosphere. Will try their pastries next time. Also, two Taylor Swift songs were played in a row so thats always a plus for me.

Nice but cramped little coffee shop. Tables up close to the counter make it really awkward and tight if you are trying to order and someone whos sitting wants to leave. They have a few gluten free options which is nice, but I do wish there were some savory options. Dietary restrictions: A few gluten free options, but most are very sweet.

Delicious pastries and beautiful place

i came in not feeling the best, just to treat myself for a milkshake and pastry. the lady who served me initially was nice and fast, the milkshake she made was uber tasty! however, while waiting for my pastry (im in no rush its my off day) her coworker comes out from the back and sees me, assumes im impatient about my pastry warm up time and tells me it ll be out in three minutes, chill out. abruptly. i understand i looked upset as im not in the best mood but the comment out of nowhere wasn t pleasant nor necessary. id come back cuz everything was tasty but her attitude didnt sit right. shout out to the other friendly worker w/ glasses and a ponytail for being patient tho.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is always great, especially the Spanakopita and Espresso Tonic (which is not a common choice)! The servers are nice, helpful and friendly. Not to mention the music is also well chosen. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to relax and unwind.

An air-conditioned oasis on a very hot summer day in Toronto.

Good burger but geez, for $21 everything needs to be great. Burger was very good (bacon and mushroom) but the salad was very bland - I think it had three ingredients plus dressing. This was a take-out order - no napkins or utensils in the bag. Argh, I friggen hate that! I m at a hotel, I had to go begging at the lobby restaurant for a fork. Overall, a good burger ruined by lack of attention to everything else.

Amazing. I came here 5 years ago when it first opened, but a rude barista kept me away. Until today when I needed a coffee. I almost didnt go in, but Im *so* glad I did! Beautiful place with a relaxing ambience, a huge amount of pastries and coffee options. I always like to try a cappuccino with a chocolate croissant in my first visit to a cafe and wasn t disappointed, quite the opposite, amazing experience.

I came here two weeks ago to see if they have vegan treats, and they do! I got spinach and leeks pie, breakfast cookie, oatmeal choc chips cookies and Hermit cookie to go. Service was smooth and pleasant. Treats were delicious! Recommended. Just beware that the place is small and in the morning there would be quite a line up and the line up would just be alongside your table (in front of your table). Valentine s special cake, chocolate mousse($4) We loved this cake and would come back for it. I wish we can get it all year around. The combination of berries and chocolate was delicious, and the cocoa sponge inside and berry sauce were also delicious. I wish mousse was the standard (February, 2022) It feels like a cake shop where you can drink delicious coffee, rather than a coffee-focused cafe. There were various kinds of cakes, baked goods (including Baklava, a Turkish sweet), croissants, etc., and they all looked delicious. Vegan varieties are also available. Next time I would like to try some sweets with espresso. There are so many quotes from famous people written all over the blackboard that I cant help but read them. We also sell goods such as mugs (2019)

I randomly passed by this Cafe while I was strolling in this beautiful weather. The cafes exterior interior looked so great so I was drawn inside. Its interior design was as good as outside or even better. It welcomed me with some cool graphics, texts and other elements as well as so many mouth-watering foods. The server/barrista welcomed me warmly and guided me through my first time by giving me recommendations. I ordered a beef pie, pistachio baklava and pistachio latte. All three of them were so good. Especially that Pistachio Baklava was one of the best things I have ever eaten. The taste was heavenly almost. Come to Filosophy and enjoy the nice weather with some good food and drink!

The pastries were great. The coffee was mediocre, i believe they use propellor which is a bit too dark for my taste. Also staff are a bit inconsistent, some baristas use the thermometer to steam milk (the right way to do it) and some dont so not sure why that is.

I was really excited to discover a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and of course their filo pies! I tried the spinach and feta pie, Portuguese egg tart, and baklava circle? Which were all recommended. I cant say it was the best Portuguese egg tart Ive had but I dont think you can go wrong ordering anything with filo pastry here :). I also got an iced Americano and its always nice to be able to pair sweets with some coffee. They have a nice outdoor front patio and seating inside also, with A/C. The staff seemed happy, which is important to me when looking for a local business to support.

My first affagato, made with the salted caramel ice cream, was delightful! I also took home the apple crisp tart and the oreo baked cookie which were sinfully sweet treats. Its an excellent fresh pastry and coffee shop with plenty of variety and dietary-restricted options available.

Filosophy is what I look forward to every Sunday! I go to a local gym nearby every morning and I always find myself here afterwards. The coffee is great and the pastries are lovely too. Great staff and so helpful with understanding all the different drinks/pastries. Highly Recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous spinach pie

I really like having Filos in the neighbourhood. They have great coffee and a fantastic selection of pastries. My biggest complaint is that none of the staff ever seem to know what is in any of the pastries. My wife has a somewhat severe nut allergy, and every time we ask whether this or that has nuts in it, the staff have no idea. I understand that many things are baked or prepped off-site and that cross-contamination cant be guaranteed, but having access to a list of ingredients for the items out on display is really the bare minimum that a cafe like this has to do...

I love the variety of treats here. They also have savory pastry with spinach or cheese. Unfortunately the seating area is mostly in a very narrow area, so one can feel a bit crammed up.

Would return Cool cafe, nice eye catching decor, limited seating, prices are par, huge pastry, cakes and nibbles selection. Lattes 4.50-5. Espresso+Tonic low-key super interesting and fun drink. More cafes should offer this. Brings out different flavours and really tests their roast and quality of bean. Liked it. Takes AMEX.

I love this exquisite coffee shop. Its name tells it all. Their baked goodies are a top notch; very taste and well priced. You must try their Spanakopita! It s yummy. It also offers good coffee and specialty drinks. Customer service is friendly and the shop is clean and safe to dine in but it definitely has limited seats. I would make one recommendation is to change your plant based milk options.

Update : Coming back a year later I can safely say this place has gotten better with age. The hot spanakopita and beef pie is well worth the trip and the mocha is unique and quite enjoyable! Staff is pleasant but not exactly friendly. But perhaps thats just me. Ive been to this place several times and its really well setup and Im pretty sold. Coffee is okay and though this place seems to have a plethora of baked goods. Front of house staff is a might cold too. Still it offers variety as a new location and Id update my review later on.

A truly stupendous selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, croissants, muffins, fritters, honey cakes and even baklava in a tiny space. Coffee was decent. Not much room to sit- I recommend a large take-out box.
