Welcome to Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant, where every dish carries the essence of our rich heritage. For over 15 years, I've dedicated myself to crafting each recipe with care and authenticity, drawing inspiration from the culinary traditions passed down through generations. Our dishes are a reflection of the vibrant culture and diverse flavors of Ethiopia, bringing a taste of home to our guests in Toronto.
Wazema is one of my favorite places for Ethipian food on the Danforth. Great service. I always go for the Wazema platter- my partner and I got ambitious ordering a plate ‘for 3’ (we could have definitely just done ‘for 2’) but it was delicious nontheless. We went on a weekday evening but it’s also a fun spot to hangout come night time, it has a club-type vibe with live music on some nights. The reason I gave 4/5 for atmosphere is the restaurant is quite dim, and when I was there, there was some sort of smoke in the air, as though there was heavy incense burning (it eventually dissipated). This didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Doro Wot? More Like Doro What in the World Happened Here? I just ordered the classic Doro Wot on UberEats. Or at least, that’s what they claimed it was. What arrived at my house, however, was so confused about its identity that I had to double-check whether I’d ordered from an Ethiopian restaurant or some experimental kitchen playing dice with recipes. Let’s start with the Kulet. More like Chopped Onion Chronicles. It was a chunky, chaotic mess of half-cooked onions that seemed to be in open rebellion against caramelization. And the chicken? Oh, the chicken. Someone clearly thought, “Bones? Authenticity? Nah, who needs those?” The result was a scattering of boneless chicken fragments that felt more like a sad garnish than the centerpiece of the dish. For a brief, confusing moment, I wondered if I’d accidentally ordered Tibs. But honestly, even Tibs would’ve staged a walkout over being compared to this. This dish felt like it started as a beef stew, had a midlife crisis, and then decided, “Eh, let’s throw in some chicken and really confuse everyone!” If chickens could talk, they would’ve unionized, boycotted this restaurant, and sued for emotional damages by now. So here’s my advice: DO NOT try the Doro Wot from this place unless you’re actively seeking disappointment. This isn’t just bad Ethiopian food, it’s an insult to chickens everywhere and a betrayal of cultural pride. Rating: 1/5 – Only because I wasn’t able to give 0.
For me, Habesha (Ethiopian, Eritrean) food is comfort food (par excellence). It never fails to bring joy in happiness or consolation in sadness. Such was the case with Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant. From the first moment, I was greeted with joy by the waitress Kal. She took the time to review the menu together and took the initiative to make a few adjustments to the Wazema Platter to accommodate my tastes in meat and vegetables. Seeing my interest in Ethiopian art & music, Kal explained the meaning behind the various works of art on the walls (especially the stunning stained glass-like works of Afewerk Tekle - አፈወርቅ ተክሌ). The food itself was prepared to perfection. The meat was well-seasoned, tender, wonderful texture; the vegetables were subtle and delicate. The injera, itself, struck a wonderful balance - neither too sour, nor bland - just right. At the end of the meal, Kal further spoke about the beauty of Ethiopia: Axum, Lalibela, Gondar, Ras Dashen. My 2 hours at Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant were a taste of paradise. May God grant that I return, and that everyone may go to discover this treasure. Thank you Kal, thank you wait staff, thank you chefs - አመሰግናለሁ
Great place to try Ethiopian food for the first time! My personal favourites were the Cha Cha Tibs and Doro Wat. Their menu has a ton of variety and everything tasted great. Be aware that this spot turns into a club/lounge after 10pm and you can only be seated if you purchase bottle service. Going forward I’d definitely come earlier in the day since the music was a little too loud and the lights were too dim for me to fully enjoy the food. I’d also recommend keeping your group 4-5 people as it gets difficult to share off one plate passed that.
First time trying Eriterian/ Ethiopian food and it was pretty yummy. The restaurant itself though was extremely dark and loud which made it hard to interact with my friends and see the food i was eating. The food was tasty and flavoured well.
I am not Ethiopian/ Eritrean, but this food makes me WISH I WAS. Oh my gosh, you must try the Doro Wot it is something out of this world!!! The customer service is nice, they sometimes play loud music, and there is lots of seating space. 10/10 recommend !!! I also love the Christian Orthodox art on the walls <333
Enjoyed the ambiance, service and delicious food. Good portions, we shared the veggie platter and meat platter. The coffee was great and the ceremony smelled wonderful.
This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I really liked it. The Injera bread was so different and such an experience to be grabbing each bite with this. We ordered a mixed plate and even though I didn't know what each thing was, I just knew all the flavors were different and delicious. One mixed plate is good for 4-5 people.
Parking: The main street is busy, but side streets had plenty of parking when I was here. Food
One of my favourite places to dine and take out - with legendary hospitality from all! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian platter with lots of different proteins and vegetables! Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free injera and vegetarian options with protein. Kids options too
The food here is fantastic! The beef wat stew tasted so good and was so flavourful! Big portion was given to us when we visited. The atmosphere was so cozy. I was vibing with the jazz pop music that was playing here. The servers here were so nice especially Eden, she was very helpful!
Very nice and delicious food, welcoming and charming waiters Parking: If u can provide Hookah that would be great- Ms. Yodit , she is GREAT PERSON , very friendly and welcoming Food : 5/5 |
Our favourite place for Ethiopian! The food and service are always amazing!
The food is outstanding! If you go on a Friday night there will be live music which really adds to the entire experience! I highly recommend coming here, you won t be disappointed :)
Vegan + gluten free options
People there where amazing good food love it will go back
The service is fine at this place, the diner is so dark that you can t see very well the food and even reading the menu was tough but the waitress was so nice to explain the food I orders the lamb meat plater and it was presented in a sizzling hot pan and I kind of loved the taste of it They have a small platform for entertainment mostly at night, we visited this restaurant around noon Price is not bad but they add the bread price to your bill and that was not made clear in the menu, May be we missed it because of the darkness Overall the food is ok and the service was great and they offer alcoholic beverages No free parking close by but if you are willing to walk to side streets for a one hour free parking you may get lucky
This place is so cool! They do live music on certain days, staff was very warm and food was great! Will go again!
Amazing Restaurant! This is my go to spot for Ethiopian food in the city. Went there for my sisters birthday and the staff took amazing care of us. We came with a few people who have never visited Wazema before and they loved everything! Great food, great service and great aesthetic. If you re looking for a good Ethiopian restaurant wazema is the place to go
Great food, ambience and service
Amazing people would back again and again
Best food, no cap for real
The food was tasty, and the atmosphere was great. They serve alcohol also which is a bonus. Vegetarian options: They have the default vegetarian Ethiopian dish.
The interior was a little too dark for my liking felt kind of like a lounge but the service was really good. The food was good as well.
Always amazing service and friendly staff, excellent food, favourite Ethiopian restaurant in the city by far Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options, very tasty
Genuinely some of the best service I ve experienced in my life. All the staff was so sweet, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. The perfect spot for a summer dinner with friends. Not to mention the food was beautiful and delicious. Can t thank the team at Wazena enough for a first fantastic experience in the world of Ethiopian cuisine!
Delicious food, great hospitality, such a good vibe. The portions were ample and so tasty.
Wow! Fantastic experience. Service was wonderful i wish i got her name but her recommendations were fabulous. Portions were huge. Would recommend!
Amazing
Amazing food!
Blonde waitress gave terrible customer service.
Beautiful and cozy place. Food is delicious. Price is affordable. Cappuccino soo yummy Thank you! Vegetarian options: Many varieties, definitely youll enjoy.
Amazing food and great service, will definitely be coming back! Ordered the platters in the picture
Great food and service:))) Vegetarian options: Great vegan options Food : 5/5 |
Great service, excellent food and nice environment
There was irritating blasting music being played the whole time. I had to yell to speak to someone who is sitting 2 inches away. I asked to turn the volume down a notch and they said no. I will not return.
They have delicious food ever, I will tell everyone to try Wazema s delicious food.
It was my first trying Ethiopian food,I liked the food so much .so fresh and really good service friendly place.I strongly recommend it !
A wonderful spot! Very warm vibe and perfect for a date night. Great service and the food is very fresh and delicious!
The food was great, the music was so loud though. The service was ok. We could barely hear the servers from the music
Abdullahi says it s one of the most best Ethiopian restaurants in the city! Atmosphere! Service! Top Tier!!
Great food and atmosphere! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options! Food : 5/5 |
Fantastic Vegetarian dinner. Fresh and satisfying. Great potion size and perfectly seasoned. A great option. Vegetarian options: Full portions plus two enjera and side salad with light vinaigrette. Perfectly balanced. Always a great healthy choice. Peace.
EVERYTHING about this place was AMAZING It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I don t know where it s been my whole life. The experience was amazing the staff was so gracious and helpful the entertainment was great can t wait to come back
Loved it! Delicious place friendly staff great vibes.
Great place for Ethiopian food, great ambience, food and staff
This is by far my favorite restaurant. I have ate at all the Ethiopian spots on danforth and Wazema became my #1 spot. I have been here multiple time and, everytime I go I bring someone new just to prove a point how fantabulous the food taste. Price is amazing for the quality of food your getting. Its the closest you will get to feeling like your in Addis. Totally recommend. Vegetarian options: There are various of vegan and, vegetarian options on the menu.
Way to expensive dont make no since.
Ordered injera from this place and once I reached home I realized they forgot one small item (stuffed pepper). When I called the place they took down my information and said they would include it in my next order. The next day I decided to pick it up, to my surprise there was an entire meal packed. The employee was bright faced with a very kind and sincere apology. If this was not a professional business conduct I don t know what is. I am truly proud of my ppl
The food was tasty. The service is kind. The aroma of Frankincense and coffee just made me feel so calm while eating my food. Thank you thank you thank you. Definitely try this food! Vegetarian options: I m vegan and ate so many good choices. Get the platter !
I really enjoy this spot. Worth the drive from Mississauga. Had the platter for 2, extremely filling.
Would definitely recommend this place. The food is delicious! Portion sizes are huge with the right amount of spice and flavour combinations. Our party of 7 shared the Wazema platter with chicken cha cha and doro wot. however, the drinks were pretty mediocre. The place is small and has a smoky smell from burning incense during the traditional coffee ceremony. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian platter available
Ive liked this place in the past. Today it wasnt as good. Injera was cold and it did seem a bit pungent to me.
Wazema is a family restaurant so thier food is prepared the way m homemade food a original habasha food a from back home its tasty except that if you can handle the spice also cooks for all our customers that cross GTA i s Serve Ethiopian food and offer a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Try dishes customers their food delicious and you will never regret.
The best food Ive had in a long time but unique and so Ill be back here.
Music was too loud, I could barely hear the person seating next to me, let alone the person across the table, we left as soon as we finished eating. I would recommend going there rather during the day and avoid evenings.
Really good food. Good service and overall a nice experience.
We ordered more than 7 dishes that came in 2 big serving trays, communal eating with gluten-free injera. Everything we ordered was delicious with just the right amount of spices. Service was excellent, specially with the coffee ceremony, highly recommended. I urge you to try this place, weve been coming here for more than 2 years and it never disappointed.
The food was amazing! I also appreciate the great service by Judy. I will be returning soon!
You have come to the right place! This is the place to eat! Amazing food and service! If you come on a Friday night...there will be performances btw 10:00 and 10:30 pm. What are you waiting for? Come and experience yourself. Vegetarian options: They have different veggie options, including platters.
Great service and great food!
Filthy! Infestation of fruit flies, dirty washrooms and sticky tables. Ungh!
Great food great service
waiter Ruth was the best.... Food is phenomenal.... Food : 5/5
Way too expensive for average food.
Amazing food and best customer service ever. I been here more than I can count
Excellent food. Had the Wazema platter. This place never disappoints. Food
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD HIGHLY RECOMMEND - try the cha cha tibs
Good food, generous serving. The waitress was friendly and the incense memorable. Was recommended to me by an Ethiopian friend and it didn t disappoint.
Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Nice place to have a tea, coffee or meal in Tkaronto
First time trying Ethiopian food and I enjoyed every single bite. Friendly people and great service!
The food was so oily.. I was really disappointed
They make us for an extra 1 latte, 1 espresso, and 1 tea that we saw the bill when we left the restaurant since we trusted them!!!
It was a lovely experience, the service was so good and the staff is so nice. The food was huge and definitely worth every dollar!
Great place, great food.
Excellent food.
Best Kiftoin the city. Slow service but friendly people Vegetarian options: Good place for veggies Food : 5/5 |
My mom goes here quite often
Ordered a Wazema platter for take out. Absolutely delicious!
This is THE Ethiopian restaurant to go to. Its where the locals eat. Ive gone there repeatedly with my spouse... heck, eventually Im going to try going there solo. Their takeout is top notch. They have an uncanny ability to determine how much injera one requires (despite this, I always ask for more [and will gladly pay for it]). Speed of service? I enjoy the entire atmosphere and experience and WILL NOT rush my stay at Wazema. If ones expecting fast take out, call ahead (or try another establishment). Welcoming servers? HECK YEAH.
Tried Ethiopian food here for the first time, it was SPECTACULAR! So filling, the Cha cha tibs were so succulent and the variety of foods you get was amazing! I will be coming back
If you want an Eritrean and Ethiopian delicious food you should visit Wazema restaurant!
A fantastic restaurant with delicious authentic Ethiopian food. Excellent service. Has a great lunch time atmosphere for a quiet intimate lunch and perhaps meeting spot. Vegetarian options: They have ample vegetarian options on the menu. Such a delight to experience delicious, nutritious and visually appealing food.
The food was great, only reason why they even got 1 star. The service is horrible esp. from one of the servers. If you are habesha, I guess they assume you dont deserve good customer service. The place wasnt busy either. Eventhogh they just put reserved on table . I will never go back and will make sure my colleagues dont either.
Food was delicious. Our party of four shared the veggie platter for two and we were satisfied. We have to admit that from the outside the restaurant seemed like it would be quite clean and modern and designed, so we were a bit surprised that it had more of a bar atmosphere with black ceilings that really needed attention and the place smelled really smoky even though it was just supposed to be incense. Plus on that day, it smell like something unfortunately burned in the kitchen and it had that burnt pan smell wafting through the restaurant. We are looking forward to another visit to try more dishes.
Delicious food! The veggie mix platter was great. Service was excellent. Food : 5/5
Great food and amazing atmosphere
Delicious food, great music,
Got the mixed platter with a little of everything Very unique combination of ingredients and flavors. It wasnt as spicy as I thought it would be but overall it was good to try 7.5/10
Great food. On a high range price - 25-30$ per person, without any drinks or starter or dessert. Well seasoned food. We tried the platter. My first Ethiopian food experience and instantly fall in love.
The veggie platter for four was phenomenal, and everyone there was so friendly. We stayed for around 2 hours, and rather than pressure us to leave, they brought us popcorn and coffee. Will definitely be back!
The service was great, but the food lower than my expectations, let me explain my experience shiro was tomato paste, the tibs was decent and the kitfo was mehh, and why the spice isnt hot, maybe i am new to canada and still i was used to the taste in my home country.
Delicious and great service!
Good experience, staff was polite. However I was comparing food with Nazerath s level which I didn t find. Not sure about authenticity but as an Indian taste buds it s not my cup of tea at this restaurant however I use to go Nazerath s every week.
Horrible restaurant!!!!!!!! The injera was stale I paid extra for more (not knowing how horrible is was) and never received it. The tomato salad was drowning in oil I ended up throwing everything out waste of money and never again
Great food, great service and for the first time ever trying Ethiopian - I give it 10/10 and highly recommended if your looking to dive in to a culture with such amazing food and tastes and spices this is the spot to come!!! Check it out soon ! Thanks to all the staff !! Cheers
The food was delicious one of the best Ethiopian places Ive eaten. We were a little nervous going into such a small restaurant during a pandemic after masks have been removed. The waitress was getting a little close and not many people were respecting social distancing. We still had a good meal and an enjoyable time and at the end of the day no one got sick.
Delicious food and excellent customer service.
Our server Tity made the selection for us and we ordered meat Combo. The taste is very enjoyable. Service was prompt.
Great experience! Loved the food. It was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and Loved it
We had the Wazema platter with Lamb cha cha. Loved the food. The Ethiopian injera was amazing. Guys it s a must try! Being an Indian foodie, it feels like we are at home. We will definitely be eating here again.
Very chill staff, good service. They do offer the teff only (ie gluten free) injera just ask and be clear about it.
This restaurant offers one of the tastiest Doro wat. I also find their portions to be larger than other Ethiopian restaurants with amazing quality. The location is not the best but they do take out, uber eats and offer great service in the restaurant.
The food was delicious, flavourful, & spicy! Our server was lovely too!
Amazing food !!!
Great food. Accommodating. Divided our food up into neat little multiple sections which was nice for sharing evenly. Interesting music on weekends Great to bring a group or come by yourself! Thanks again Aymalem for great service (and watch out for that umbrella!)
Portions are generous. The meat is marinated very well. This is one of my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Toronto!
the food and service here is amazing
Staff is nice, but took very long to cook the order
Amazing food and entertainment
The service at this restaurant was amazing . Very friendly staff. This was my first experience eating Ethiopian food. Came here with my family and I will tell you we all loved the food. We will definitely come back here!
First time eating Ethiopian food and it was really good! Got the meat platter, generous portion, spicy but good! Nice decor inside and friendly staff.
Always happy to be here. Cozy place and mouthwatering Ethiopian dishes. Aynalem is very attentive and amazing. She is always on top of her responsibility and check her table every time. Highly recommend place!
Amazing food + service! I recommend Wazema!
Really good and delicious food. Love the tibsi. We got the wazema meat combo and it was good. Customer service was really good. Only thing is that the portions of the sauces are small. Other than that, it was good.
Wazema best habesha restaurant food was lit aynalem was so helpful thanks to her service.
Very good food and friendly service.
This place seems popular and busy it has Yummy food. friendly staff. Id come back here for sure
Best Ethiopian food in the city! I go here regularly.
Thank you so much Tsi Great service, very friendly staff
Delicious, everything!
Really friendly service, food is excellent and flavourful. Everything came on time. Would definitely go back.
Great service, large portions, delicious food!
First time experiencing Ethiopian cuisine. It was better than expected: food, drink, coffee ceremony, service. It felt like being in Ethiopia. I recommend it 200%! It was a great opportunity to learn about the Ethiopian culture, and I will certainly go back. Amazing! Thank you for providing us with this great experience and opportunity.
The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. I m so happy we decided to give it a try. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Toronto.
Amazing, amazing Ethiopian food. Best we ve had in Toronto and we ve tried many over the years. The flavours, textures and hospitality are all top notch. Highly recommended!!
Me and my family had a wonderful time at the restaurant. We had late lunch and coffee and it was wonderful. However, the service was amazing. Aynalem took care of us through out, with a pleasant smile and attentive service. She is a great asset to the restaurant. Thank you for all you have done for us. We will definitely come back.
One of the best in danforth
Great food but inflation is 8%, so why did you increase your prices by 39%? Used to go here always but the prices since last month are crazy. The Wazema platter went from $16 to $22...
First time trying Ethiopian food, it s bussin
Brought my daughter for her first taste of Ethiopian cuisine, we got the meat combo platter and veggie platter. Each and everything on the plate was scrumptious and irresistible! Skilled chef, beautiful presentation and amazing taste. Highly recommend. Thank you!
Chicken tips was really good.
Ordered the platter. Made fresh, accommodated my crazy dietary needs, gluten, lactulose, no coconut milk. The food was fresh and delicious. Huge tray for 2 people. Each had its own special spices and flavours. Highly recommended!
I want to try everything on the menu! Delicious and huge portions with authentic taste, live music on Saturdays! Friendly service def one of the best in town!
Excellent food. Went with friends and had a platter, cha cha tibs. So happy, so full
It was the most friendly and pro serving I have never seen in all Toronto, Good job waziema and thank you lot .
Our first experience here and absolutely loved it! Friendly staff, great service. Definitely coming back
My partner and I just shared a platter for one, and it was enough food for the two of us. And was delicious to boot! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
The food tastes AMAZING! The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the portions are large. I definitely would recommend it to everyone of all cultures.. Thank you.
Food was amazing and nice service also good love music
The bad customer service I never see I have bad experience after you pay the money they telling you The order you order other customer take my mistake that s not nice they don t work properly job
Delicious :)
My favourite Ethiopian restaurant. Staff and food are fantastic :)
Delicious and such friendly staff members!
My partner and I went for lunch today at Wazema restaurant and the food and the service was exceptional. We ordered my long time favourite dish, Zigini Wot. It was my partners first time for Ethiopian food and she loved it and so did I. The dish was delicious. I would recommend that restaurant to anyone who wants to try Ethiopian food.
Good place to have authentic hala ethiopian food. Coffe is soo good
Amazing food and the waitress was very good to me and respectful.
I ordered Kornis to go. There werent many dining customers in the restaurant at the time -- Only two tables were occupied. Upon placing a pick-up order, the waitress informed me to come back in 15 min. I left and came back little after 20 min but the food was not ready. I had to wait like 25 min to get my order. Moreover, the price is outrageously expensive to say the least. I ordered Kornis dish ( a small portion meal for 1) and it came to $28.25. I must say, not even the price of lavish authentic Greek dishes offered at many of the Greek restaurants which inhabit nearby Danforth streets does not even cost nearly as that much.
Came here about 6 years ago when we were visiting and absolutely loved it! had to make sure we came back on our visit this year and it was still absolutely amazing, highly recommended!
Best injera and drinks in town
Love this place. Very friendly, welcoming staff and fabulous food. Mixed platters are full of assorted tasty delights and heaps of injera to eat it with.
The customer service was outstanding, the food was next level.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant. Highly recommend this place. Specially their Cha cha Tibs .
Beautiful experience, the food was extremely delicious! It was juciy and tender with enough spice level. The staff are very friendly as well. The music is also beautiful.
This restaurant is delicious! Never tried Ethiopian food before and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. The staff is also lovely! Very welcoming and explains the menu to you.
Excellent experience very nice welcoming staff. Family friendly atmosphere and they got life music on Fridays and Saturdays. We had a platter half Zigini and half Kitfo plus Cha Cha and Ethiopian Injera. Food was exceptional delicious and tasty. Coming here again.
My husband and I saw this place online and decided to try it out; we got the meat platter for two and kitfo; both very tasty flavourful dishes. We have tried other ethiopean in the city, this spot I would have to say sits in our top 3. It looks unassuming as you walk by, but stop in you wont be disappointed! Good price for quantity and quality Vegetarian options: vegetarian dishes are as delicious as any meat dishes!
Tons of food for the price (we got a platter for 3). This was my first time at an Ethiopian restaurant so unfortunately I dont have a comparison, but the food was tasty. (Could have been spicier for me, but again no comparison so that could just be the style of food). Also, pretty nice inside, theres a pub vibe which was really cool because outside of here Ive never had anything other than typical pub food in a pub. Would go back.
Food was DELICIOUS!! Will defo be coming back here :) so happy we finally tried this place out! And very friendly service!
Kitfo is rly good
Best Ethiopian in town! If you re newbie to Ethiopian, my suggestion would be to get the veggie delight and the wazema meat combo. Eat in or Order in / both are great options!
This was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I loved every bite. It was so flavourful and cozy. We got the four person platter with veggies and meat and it was very filling - the perfect amount for four. Will definitely go back next time I m in Toronto.
Wazema was recommended by a friend and boy did it match our expectations - it exceeded them by a mile. The food is full of flavor and the best part is the way it is served. The staff was warm and very helpful. If you havent tried authentic Ethiopian fare then its your opportunity to initiate but if you already have then you shouldnt miss this for anything in the world!
Great Ethiopian food in Toronto. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Food : 5/5 |
This place is amazing. My first time having Ethiopian food and I was blown away. Staff was super nice and accommodating. We had the coffee after our meal and it was delicious as well.
It was our first time trying Ethiopian food. It was incredible! Great price, great service and delicious assortment.
My husband and I love Ethiopian food. We have tried a few Ethiopian restaurants , that will go nameless , in the area and Wazema deserves a 5 Star rating. On a chilly December evening we decided to venture out of Brampton and head to Toronto because the craving for Ethiopian food was too much to bear. Shortly after being seated at a cosy little table across from the bar , we were greeted by Aynalem , our server . She was so sweet and extremely gracious. We ordered the Gebeta platter with meat and it was a feast for the eyes. The freshness of the various vegetable and meat stews was better than weve ever had at any other Ethiopian restaurant. Injera was light and soft .....my mouth is watering as I describe how delicious everything was. As a result of eating every morsel on our Gebeta , we requested a small pot of Ethiopian coffee at the end of our dinner rather than have the traditional ceremony . The coffee was a soothing end to the best Ethiopian meal weve ever enjoyed. Special thanks to our very attentive server , Aynalem for making our first visit to Wazema an experience that we will never forget. See you soon ! Esther and Patrick
Homey. A very cozy and serene atmosphere, great staff and authentic, delicious meals.
Celebrated my birthday at Wazema tonight-omggg great food! Cozy lounge vibe, amazing and generous hospitality from Efii! Enjoy a platter, drinks and dont skip the coffee ceremony! A very warm and generous host, really appreciated the lovely evening! We will go back for the live music on the weekends! Vegetarian options: They had delicious veggie dishes. Dietary restrictions: Lots of choice and good recommendations. Parking: Can park on Danforth out front pretty easily. Kid-friendliness: Kids would love eating delicious food without utensils and sharing plates. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible!
