Stylish restaurant and bar presenting inventive, Filipino inspired plates, wines and cocktails.
This has to be one of the top tasting menus and dining experiences I’ve ever had in the city. Chef Daniel and his team have crafted an incredible menu that really surprised us last night for a birthday dinner. Definitely go for the Chef’s table menu if you can get a seat (only four spots per seating)! Every dish was plated beautifully. The flavours were all incredibly well balanced. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!! Can’t wait to come back.
Mineral Restaurant in Toronto is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to experience delicious Filipino fusion cuisine! The moment you enter, you’re welcomed by a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu features a creative blend of traditional Filipino flavors and modern culinary techniques, resulting in dishes that are both familiar and exciting. Each plate is beautifully presented, and the flavors are rich and satisfying. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring that you feel well taken care of throughout your meal. Their passion for the cuisine really shines through in their service. Overall, Mineral Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Toronto who wants to explore the delicious world of Filipino fusion cuisine. I can’t wait to return and try more of their innovative dishes!
I took my gf here for her birthday last night and did the chef's table tasting menu with wine pairing. I don't say this lightly, this was possibly the best food experience I've ever had. The food not only looked amazing but tasted even better. If you asked me which dish was my favorite, I'd imagine this is the trouble parents have when asked who their favorite kid is. The presentation of the oysters and shrimp really set the stage. The ensaymada was a star with the duck prosciutto. The miso halibut which combines Canadian and Filipino ingredients, I have no words! Chef, hats off to you for nailing it. Now please, open for lunch so I can come with work! 😂
It's a perfect 5/5 for my No.1 favourite restaurant in Toronto. As you can say, I'm biased, but I've been to Mineral almost a dozen times now, and they never let me or my fiancé down. Bruce, Greg, and Chef Danny have always been warm, and no matter how busy the night is, the consistency of their food and beverages is always on point. I'm Filipino, and I recommend Mineral to all my friends, I brought my family here as well. Mineral's version of Filipino food puts it on a different level. Filipino food hasn't always been seen as healthy and upheld to a certain high standard, unlike its other Asian counterparts - but Mineral's/Chef Danny's twist gave way to not only elevating the food that is originally tasty and healthy but also making it more appetizing and palatable across different ethnic backgrounds. My personal favourites are Crispy Broccolini and Tuna Kinilaw.
The few times I’ve been lucky enough to have a meal here with my family and for a valentines dinner I’ve been blown away. They craft each plate so beautifully to blow away your taste buds. It’s a special occasion each time whether sitting at the bar or the table and having their delicious food or impeccable drinks.
I came here with my friends to celebrate a birthday and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious. You can tell the chef put a lot of love, thought and attention to detail in each dish. Everything was fresh and the customer service was phenomenal. I would definitely come back!
My cousins and I had dinner here last night and I'm so happy we opted for the tasting menu. Each dish was so thoughtfully put together and beautifully presented. We appreciate the servers' attentiveness to explaining each dish's complex flavours. The hospitality is unparalleled here - absolute top-notch observation to detail while feeling very welcomed and comfortable with their super friendly staff. Even better was that Chef Dan was able to accommodate my vegan diet. I was floored by the range of choices and its generous amount. He is truly a wizard in the kitchen and I look forward to coming again to this hidden gem. Thank you so much for making it a memorable evening!!!
My family and I have dined at Mineral numerous times, and each visit surpasses the last. Every dish is exceptional, with a level of detail that's unmatched. The service is truly top-notch; from the moment you step in and until you leave, you are made to feel warmly welcomed. Truly looking forward to next time!
OVERPRICED My friends & I were excited to try their 9 course meal. Which we expected just like at any other multiple coursed meal weve experienced - You get your own amount/portion/plate since you are paying per person. What really disappointed us and ruined the experience is the portion/sharing idea & the fact that its 100+ per person - It didnt make sense at all. I get that it may be about presentation, inventive taste and fine dine is expected to have small portions anyway, but this was WAY overpriced to not get your own serving on the menu. We paid over 100+ EACH along with tip which summed up to $133 each for the Chef tasting meal. Yes it tasted great but were we full? absolutely not. For what its worth ($133+) each person should AT LEAST have their own plate of the Entree portion with rice instead of sharing literally a serving spoonful of rice in a small bowl between 3 people. Unfortunately everything had to be shared and ALL that for a price per head which I found silly! That whole 9 course meal SHOULD not be charged per head - it was all shared and the portion was literally to just have a taste of the chefs menu. It could have been worthwhile if $133+ was also shared/split into 3 people rather than per head. We wish we were informed more in detail of how minimal the serving of the Chef Tasting Menu would be to avoid disappointment. If yall are really open to honest feedback - I suggest improvements be made towards that decieving MONEY GRAB portion of your menu and not charge per head since its a sharing concept. It is misleading - > 9 course meal for $99+ per head & all is to be shared and it only comes with water or sparkling water. Anways, dont get me wrong the place is cute, the servers provided a warm welcome and were amazing, I cant complain about them at all 10/10 to all of them!! .... and the food was delicious. The portion & price for a meal that is only to be shared was just really a rip off.
chef s TASTING menu (Literally to TASTE only) While the ambiance and service were great, I can understand how the portion sizes would be disappointing, especially after looking forward to the Chef tasting menu. A $95pp tasting menu should ideally provide enough food to satisfy (atleast one person should get her own plate), and sharing portions, especially for the main course, can definitely take away from the experience. It s a shame that the serving sizes didn t match the quality of the food. For instance, 3 of us had to share 1 cup of ice cream. Hopefully, they ll take feedback like this into account to improve the balance between presentation and satisfaction.
One of the best restaurants in Toronto with very reasonable prices compared to the quality. The chef Daniel is a genius and the whole team is just so nice and professional. This is what you can call THE restaurant. Enjoyed so much the food and the atmosphere as well. Well done, guys!
First time beautiful dining experience
I was hungry after I had to go home and order Ubereats. Plating was beautiful and some unique flavours. Amuse Bouche was the best dish. However out of the 9 courses one of them was a bowl of white rice? You had to share all the dishes which I get is in our culture. But it s a tasting menu and they should just clearly split out the portions like at other restaurants. It disguises how little food you re getting by the sharing style It was honestly a bit embarrassing because I was trying to treat my friend from out of town to a nice meal. I m pretty sure she was just being polite and nice saying that she was full because there s no way. For $250+ after tax and tip you should be full
Great tasting menu and service. Would recommend adding the wine pairing
My daughter took me to this restaurant and I was very impressed with the food and service, though a bit over priced, I enjoyed every minute of it we got the tasting menu for 4 and the price was $ 700 plus. So be ready for that
Incredible food
All dishes were very tasty service was friendly and atmosphere was excellent. I really enjoyed my meal and would come again. Bar seating felt comfortable and not too cramped.
Love love LOVE this place. Food, service and atmosphere is top notch. Chef Danny and his team are a cut above the rest! Highly recommend!
Amazing food and great service. A wonderful experience. We will be back!!
Went here to celebrate my husband s birthday. Refreshing take on Filipino food. Love the ceviche!
Everything we got was delicious! The kaldereta was soo good. And I love the homage to ginatan and ensymada.. but in a savory appetizer form! For dessert, the ube leche flan was probably one of the best desserts Ive ever had
Absolutely spectacular. The food was presented beautifully and the taste of each dish was amazing. Every course was delightfully different and a unique individual experience for everyone at the table. I have never had a dinner experience quite like this and I wont soon forget it. 10/10 definitely recommend.
The best higher end Filipino style food restaurant in Toronto. Ensymada and Ube flan will absolutely knock your socks off. The interior is aesthetically pleasing, and our server was accommodating the entire time. Our orders were a bit late but we got a homey corn soup shot amuse bouche to kick the night off. The ensymada was super buttery and the best bread product Ive had in a long, long while. Heres what you do: just come here and order the ensymada and Ube flan. Spread the smooth flan in the warm ensymada and get ready to be transported to food heaven. Youre welcome.
This restaurant is FANTASTIC in all aspects! I ve been to several Toronto Michelin Star restaurants as of late and honestly this surpasses many of them. The food is executed to perfection and the service is both welcoming and hospitable free of any pretentiousness.
We love this place! This is our favorite restaurant! We ve been here twice. The food and service are always exceeding our expectations. Everything is great but the ensaymada with truffle butter is to die for! If you want to showcase an upscale contemporary filipino food to family and friends, this is the best place to be! Hats off to Chef Daniel and whole team!
We celebrated a special occasion at Mineral a few weeks ago and they did not disappoint. They are elevating Filipino cuisine in all the right ways, this is my new favorite spot in Toronto! The seafood in the merienda platter was some of the freshest Ive had in the city, and the accompanying sauces offered a wide range of local flavors to complement. The tuna kinilaw (ceviche) on a bed of fresh avocado was so light and refreshing, balanced with just the right amount of citrus; a great palette cleanser. Lastly, I highly recommend the sinigang - a generous fillet of creamy fish served in a clear-broth umami soup that hits all the right notes, havent stopped thinking about this one since. Pleasantly surprised with my experience and very impressed by every dish, 10s across the board!
INCREDIBLE. WONDERFUL. I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time last night and I was blown away by the experience. The food was executed beautifully from presentation to flavours to details. Our server Krizia V was attentive and friendly and made our experience exceptional! The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service all together was top notch. Highly recommend!
Wow. What an unforgettable time here at Mineral. It has easily become my favourite restaurant in the city after our dining experience last night. The tasting menu is an absolute must. Every course was flavourful and beautifully plated. Our personal favourites were the tuna kinilaw, ensaymada with duck prosciutto, and short rib kare kare. All the desserts tasted incredible. And such a warm ambience and energy from the team. Krizia was especially outstanding - her service really captured the essence of Filipino hospitality. Mineral deserves all the praise. We absolutely cannot wait to be back.
Im not a big fan of Filipino food because its quite sweet so I wasnt sure how this fusion restaurant would turn out. I was quite impressed with the flavor profile they have on each one of the dishes. We got the set menu so was able to try all their signature dishes. They brought out this complimentary corn soup in the beginning and it set the bar..it was so refreshing and good. The blackcod, sous vide filet were both cooked to perfection. They couldnt have used a better cut for the iberico pork collar (cha siu). The pineapple and grilled seaweed was probably my least favorite and the desserts was just mediocre. Great vibe, service and worth all the hype. Its not easy to find an upscale restaurant in town that serves great food. highly recommended.
All hits, no misses. The restaurant is cozy but doesnt feel crowded and stuffy at all. I particularly like the aesthetic, simple but chic. The food are tapas sizes and are meant to be shared. What we ordered: Tuna Kinilaw - Filipino style ceviche Scallop Inari Pockets - flavourful and couldnt rave enough about the stuffing. This was really good. Iberico Pork Collar - Juicy pork that you make a wrap with lettuce Ube leche flan / Miso Bibingka / Pinoy Milk Tea Soft Serve - perfect trio of desserts to cap the night off. Over all a 10/10 Fine Dining experience.
Simply excellent elevated Filipino food. I don t know how Chef Danny did it, but all the foods we had were excellent, and the presentation was superb. The service was on point too
I am a bad person to come to Mineral. I grew up in the Philippines and, like everyone with food from their childhood, can only view some dishes with nostalgia and criticism. Without wanting to, I found myself comparing the words on the menu to my memory of dishes from decades ago. I even retorted, this isn t Red Ribbon , for a laugh at the table after the server had dropped off a dish and was out of earshot. The dish? Ube leche flan. If it s not clear, the food here is very good. The leche flan was jiggly and just set. Served with puffed rice and sweet gel, it was a nice goodbye to a tasty dinner. The sablefish sinigang was tart and watery. Too often, I see western imaginations of Filipino food adding fat or collagen to thicken up sinigang or adobo, as if a flavored broth isn t delicious. It was a nice choice. There were other dishes that skewed away from the Philippines. A lobster inari sushi, a ceviche starter on a house made prawn chip and a milk tea soft serve all came and went, beautifully plated, always delicious. These served as reminders that Mineral wasn t trying to be just a Filipino restaurant. I mean, when in the Philippines would I have had sablefish in a singang? Never, and yet it felt of the place. The drinks are good as well. While I had the wine pairing, my partner had a few cocktails. The soju cocktail, described as creamy , coated my mouth and filled it with plum. The wine was fine; white with fish, vermouth for dessert. The selections were good, but not novel and by the end of it I thought I had made a mistake. I should have just gotten a few cocktails. I had a good time at Mineral. The majority of the food was great, and the service was excellent. Ultimately, it was my fault that the first thirty minutes of my dinner were ruined by nostalgic recollections.
Superb dinner experience for two. Dont forget to try out their hand-picked wine list!
Second time dining here, first time at the Chefs counter. I highly recommend it! Dishes were carefully thought out to represent Filipino cuisine in an unimaginable way. It was amazing to have witnessed the creativity through the meticulous plating and flavour. The whole meal is reminiscent of Toyo Eatery based in Manila. I will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Able to accommodate shrimp allergy
One of the better meals Ive had in a very long time. Had the tasting menu. Everything was fantastic, unique, well balanced and you left feeling full without feeling overfull like a lot of tasting menus can do. 100% recommend. For the adventurous eater I can understand that this might seem risky but it everything is extremely approachable. Just go.
Presentation, taste and service were all five stars. Recommend the tasting menu.
My partner and I did their tasting menu with the wine parings at the Chef s counter and the entire experience was absolutely incredible. Each dish was prepared with a lot of love, thought, and care - especially since Filipino cuisine hasn t really made a name for itself yet. The most memorable dish for me had to have been the sinigang made with calamansi and rhubarb - like how did the chef even think about putting these ingredients together like this?? I also really loved the ube lecheflan, which was also very similar to halo halo! In true Filipino fashion, the service was absolutely exceptional. During our tasting, the chef kindly gave us a few complimentary dishes, which left us absolutely stuffed in the end. Do not skip the wine parings with the tasting!! The sommelier absolutely knows what they re doing and we were introduced to so many underrated wines which just elevated each dish so much more!! I ll definitely be back & I cannot wait to bring my parents here so they can see how far Filipino food has come
top dining experience sitting at chefs counter. amazing evening start to finish
My partner and I dined at Mineral for her birthday at the chef s counter. We opted for the tasting menu w/ wine pairings and ordered additional cocktails on the side. Everything was delicious. Really exciting to see elevated and creative takes on classic Filipino dishes such as sinigang, caldereta, and kinilaw (which were all my favourite courses from the tasting). The sommelier did a fantastic job with the wine pairings. I didn t expect certain wines to pair really well with some of the dishes. The Filipino ingredients-inspired cocktails are a must-try as well. I believe we got one of the calamansi-based cocktails & it was so good that we had to get seconds. The service was great as expected, carrying on the hospitality that Filipinos are known for. From chef Daniel to the bartender, the sommelier and our server - everyone was really friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We ll for sure be coming back. Can t wait to see what else chef Daniel and his team come up with! Keep it up!
Amazing place, the food and service are just top-notch
Came here on Tuesday for the tasting menu for my birthday. The service, ambiance, and food were phenomenal. We took advantage of the tasting menu which was not huge in terms of portion size but everything was well spaced out, unique, and very delicious. There were no weak items from the bunch
Wow! What a great fusion restaurant. Every dish was plated beautifully and was followed by amazing taste. Very quaint and unassuming place which provides an amazing atmosphere to either be on a date or dinner with friends or an evening drink on the patio. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Recommended by a few people and we were very excited for this dinner. We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation (second seating) and waited an hour to be seated. They should be able to manage their first seating to avoid inconvenience for the following guests. Of course we were irritated but they recovered gracefully. They apologized and were kind to give a couple of complimentary bites and drinks. We really enjoyed the service when dinner officially started. The food was inspired and bold. The ensaymada was so comforting. Everything was great but my favorite was the Pineapple Kombu!!! We also had wine and non alcoholic pairing. We enjoyed the mocktails more than the wine. Towards the end of the evening we ended up chatting with the service team and Chef Danny. Excited to visit again in the future. Love this place!
We love this place. The food is exceptionally good. The service is spot on. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The decor is delightfully modern. The cocktails are fantastic. Its impossible to decide which is the best. Whenever we go, we try to have as many different ones as we can without making fools of our selves :-). The food: First, let me say Ive been to many, many Toronto restaurants, some good, some not. Oftentimes, there is one dish that stands out, usually not. Here at Mineral, its one exceptional dish after another. I have tried almost all the menu items and cant praise the flavors and presentation enough. Every dish is a surprise and a comfort at the same time. As far as price, its not out of the range that youll find at any of the higher end Rosedale, Summerhill, or Yorkville establishments. We were not surprised by the bill, and paid it gladly knowing we just had a wonderfully delicious experience. Unlike many other establishments, you will find the noise level surprisingly subdued, conversing with your table companions, and the staff doesnt involve raising your voice. I rate this experience as non plus ultra. If I may, I suggest you end you meal with one of their coffees. I consider myself an unashamed coffee snob - and this cappuccino was: good. I was to busy enjoying the company I was with, the food I was eating, and the drinks I was drinking to take pictures. ............. Weve been back twice now. It has been an exceptional dining experience each time. This last time we have the Rainbow Trout, unbelievable.....never had any this good before. The cocktails were as usual: perfect. Greg and Bruce thanks....and thanks to the rest of the staff top. ........ Ok, We were back last week. Still good. Still perfect. Thanks guys.... We shall return. May 27 2024 We have been back many times. Still good. Still fun. Still recommended. Food = 10 Service = 10 Atmosphere = 10
We came here on a Tuesday for the 7 course tasting menu and it did not disappoint! All the dishes were really innovative and had a really creative take on Filipino cuisine. Service was impeccable! Our server was very attentive and the bartender made delicious drinks. Our faves were the pineapple + kombu, ensaymada, pork lettuce wraps and the sinigang. I also liked the Filipino decor it was a nice touch!
Had the 12-course tasting menu at the chef s table would highly recommend it! Delicious food, excellent service, and great atmosphere. I felt like I had been transported to a different time and place. Sorry, I forgot to take pics of a couple of courses before taking a bite!
The best restaurant I ve been to in Toronto! Seriously such a great experience with amazing service and delicious food.
The food and service at Mineral is beyond compare! We tried the Prawn Cocktail, Ensaymada, Scallop Inari Pockets, Crispy Broccolini, Sablefish Sinigang, Ube Leche Flan and Jasmine Rice Soft Serve. Every single item was delicious, we will definitely be back
Had the chefs table experience. The staff are very friendly and personable. Food is fusion Filipino inspired and the quality of the ingredients is very high. The non-alcoholic pairing of drinks is very exciting and delicious (enjoyed it more than wine)
Amazing food and service!
This is an amazing spot for a date night! The tasting menu was delicious and the staff was exceptional.
Very different take on Filipino food. The place is nice and classy, although a little small, I still felt I had my own private space. The food was very well presented -it paid homage to how Philippines is an island country. My favourites were the ensaymada with duck prosciutto and truffle butter (honestly its good even without the truffle butter), the scallop inari (although I cant eat it in one bite and it fell apart on me when I tried to eat it in parts), and the turbot sinigang with Tamaki gold rice - interesting use of rhubarb broth instead of the typical Filipino sour ingredients. The quality of the rice makes all the difference. Oh and if you have room for dessert, the Miso bibingka is to die for.
Could not say a bad, or even non-excellent, thing about a single aspect of this experience. The Canadian blend of fresh produce and seafood with the Filipino cuisine was so well done, the result is quite epic and thoughtful. Also found myself commenting on the ceilings, seating and overall layout at different points. The chef is very genuine and easy to talk to and the staff are the same. Lots of add ins to the menu we chose above and beyond what we expected - definitely a good value for your money. Dietary restrictions: They seem extremely accommodating. Called ahead to talk through everything.
Nice restaurant, food is tasty but portions are very small. We had the tasting Menu and we had each one bite portions for the appetizer or starter and the main is only one portion to be shared and dessert also one small portion to be shared. For the price I think it was very expensive. Presentation is ok and the service can be better. We ordered a very good bottle of wine and I had to pour our wine and the waiter was right across from our table.
This restaurant delivers on its ratings. Great balance in taste, texture and flavor. Not an easy feat to accomplish with Filipino dish as a point of inspiration. Excellent and informed dining staff. Greg, one of the owners, has a winning attitude and an enjoyable conversationalist. Kudos to the chefs!
An absolute gem in the city! The food was to die for and the service (plus the recommendations) were wonderful! Will be back to try the tasting menu!
Absolutely stunning and elevated Filipino food at a fine dining level. I chose to dine on a Tuesday because they offer 75pp 7 course dinner and it was worth it! The dishes were well portioned and not just one or two bites. Each dish was curated so well. Standouts was the kinilaw which is essentially Filipino version of a ceviche and the sablefish sinigang. The kinilaw was just so bold and the calamansi flavor was so intense it made this plate so memorable. It was served with shrimp chips which gave it texture. The sablefish sinigang was honestly the best sinigang I ve ever had and my partner who was born in Manila, praised it to be the best he s ever had too. He actually liked the fish over the pork belly version, which is the most common. For anyone who doesn t know sinigang is a very sour stew that goes really well with rice. This sinigang somehow tasted delicate but powerful at the same time. The fish was cooked beautifully and what made the sinigang broth beautiful was it had rhubarb in it! Honestly everything was delicious and I would go back. Service was attentive and the restaurant was gorgeous! Thanks for the great food and experience! I was totally blown away.

Had dinner here last night. All the food was amazing. Highly recommend!!
Great tasting menu and amazing staff that never rushes your table out. Excellent food and service. Lobster dumplings were amazing!
This has easily become my most favourite restaurant in the city. Kicking ourselves for not knowing it earlier. Enjoyed the 12 course dinner at the chef s counter for my hubs birthday and it was overwhelmingly delicious. Like goosebumps delicious. Chef Dan has a unique way of adding the most interesting flavours and twists to Filipino food and every item was chefs kiss. My hubs always thought you can t make Filipino food fine dining and that night he said he was proven wrong by chef Dan! Haha! Will be back for sure!!!! Thank you chef for a memorable night!!
Fantastic food and service, and excellent value. The chefs counter dining experience was a generous 12 course meal, and the chef added a few more on top of that. It is one of best tasting menus Ive ever had. Filipino fusion cuisine was very well executed. This may be my new favourite restaurant in Toronto.
Got the tasting menu and everything on there was delicious. Service was great, staff was friendly. Would recommend this to anyone looking for Filipino food with a twist
This was my first visit to Mineral, and how I wish Id gone sooner. I went for the $75 7-course tasting menu and it was such a lovely introduction to Chef Dannys take on Filipino-inspired cuisine. (I wish more establishments followed suit as its a really well positioned, low-barrier to entry price to get you into the restaurant & into a seat, and to get a understanding how they treat food & guests, and build a menu & experience. If the answer to that is well, your guests will be back.) In Minerals case, its exceptional. The food was fun. Yes, the plating is meticulous and beautiful, the courses were unfussy, flavours were harmonious and focussed...but the food was FUN. The food made me smile. The bookends were my favourite: crispy kombu and black garlic on thinly-sliced pineapple to start (such a good contrast of textures and flavours) and ube leche flan with compressed apple, crisped rice, and a delicious crumble (I didnt quite catch what it was) to end. The space is clearly gorgeous. Intimate booths, spacious bar. Service was attentive and unrushed. Courses were well-paced and generously portioned, especially so for an introductory menu. I left filled and happy. I cant wait to go back.
Wow, never fails to impress , did the tasting menu, so beautiful, great flavours , attention to detail , perfectly cooked.
Mineral in Toronto exceeded all expectations! My partner and I indulged in the 9-course tasting menu, and each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The food was not only fantastic but also rich and luxurious, making for a truly unforgettable dining experience. From the first bite to the last, we were swept away by the creativity and expertise of the chefs. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, and the service was impeccable. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an extraordinary culinary adventure, Mineral is the place to be. Highly recommended!
We had a surprising and wonderful experience last night having dinner at Mineral. This is the second time we have ordered the Tasting menu. The food was very tasty, the dishes were beautiful and the service was impeccable. Thank you Julie and Nathalie for your kindness and good humor. Thank you Bruce for an incredible and pleasurable night. See you next time!
Made a late reservation, indicated it was for a birthday. Attempted multiple times to call to confirm kitchen would be open and to advise of a shellfish allergy (10pm reservation). No answer. Received a call 10 minutes prior to arrival, Kitchen is closed but we can offer you light snacks! Arrive, only to be told that light snacks includes mostly shellfish (two guests with shellfish allergies). Other than shellfish, two potential snacks as options. No real apology or suggestion, just a hope to see you soon . It would be helpful if the restaurant updated the website and OpenTable system to reflect the kitchen hours.
My wife and I visited Toronto for the weekend. I asked a local barista some suggestions on restaurants and MINERAL was their first suggestion. We were lucky enough to make Bar top reservations that night and we are so happy we did! The ambience and the vibes were immaculate. Our server Julia was so amazing, so funny, so knowledgeable and just the best. Everyone working was so personable and attentive to detail. We had the tasting menu and we were blown away by not just the food. Being a Filipino-Canadian, Mineral did a fantastic job incorporating traditional flavors with modern and innovative techniques. The tasting menu definitely was the way to go, it was such a fun experience getting to try so many dishes. Through out the night, not just our stomachs were filled but our hearts were filled as well. Much love to Chef Daniel, Julia and all staff of Mineral. See you all soon on our next visit back to Toronto. -Pau & Ash from Winnipeg,Mb
Phenomenal service, experience, food, drinks, atmosphere! The tasting menu was amazing and also very filling. Also had tbe tea mocktail pairing and it was delicious!! Thank you Bruce, Krizia and Greg
This was my first time at Mineral, which has a modern take on Filipino cuisine. The service was amazing and the workers were very knowledgeable on each item. The food was very flavourful and their kaldereta was very tender, thought a little salty for my taste, everything else was perfect! We went on a Friday night and it was relatively busy and got seated on the bar area. The overall seating area is small, thats why I gave it a 4/5 of atmosphere. The decor and ambiance was appealing but it was just being really close to other customers that I did not like. Overall experience was great and definitely worth a visit.
From the service (Krizia) to the food and the non alcoholic drink so very impressed Will definitely come again Food
A la carte. Faves: - Ensaymada ($12) (2 pcs/order) with truffle butter and the duck prosciutto ($9) and foie gras ($9) add-ons: a fluffy, honey glazed brioche bun topped with cheddar cheese, slightly sweet and accompanied very well by the saltiness of the prosciutto and creaminess of the truffle butter & foie gras. A table favorite! 5/5. - Pineapple + kombu ($18): sweet and slightly spicy and savory. An interesting dish. 4.5/5. Liked: - Tuna kinilaw ($26) with crab chips: a bit too sour for me, but its a light, refreshing dish. 4/5. - The tomato-coconut soup that was served as the amuse-bouche. Creamy and savoury. Balanced seasoning. 4/5. - Scallop inari pockets ($26) (2 pcs/order): wasnt hot when it came out, but it was an interesting dish with diverse textures and ingredients. The crunchy, pickled kohlrabi strands taken from the shell and added on top of the rice were an especially enjoyable accompaniment. 3.7/5. Not bad: - Beef shortrib calderata ($48) with rice ($6): very tender and seasoned well; had nice pockets of fat. Its a bit too rich and heavy for me. More pickled vegetables or something herbaceous to cut through the richness would have elevated the dish. 3.5/5. - Ube leche flan ($14): a bit too sweet for me, but it was texturally diverse thanks to the crispy rice, hibiscus jelly, and thin slice of pear?peach? More ube flavor would be nice. 3.5/5. Wouldnt get again: - Duck confit ginataan ($42): the risotto-like part of the dish was on the sweet side, the duck a bit dry. I liked the sometimes crunchy texture of the dish thanks to the different vegetables and seeds. The duck skin was nicely crispy. 3/5. Lighting was on the dimmer side during dinnertime, so sitting near the windows would help compensate. Really fun, creative, beautifully presented, and delicious dishes! Note that portions are on the smaller end for the price point. But worth a try. Friendly and witty service! Staff paid diligent attention to water refill. We had a good evening dining here at Mineral. Thank you for showcasing lovely Filipino fusion cuisine.
Phenomenal experience at a restaurant that deserves every single word of praise it receives. What Bruce, Greg and chef have created is nothing short of an example of Filipino excellence here in Toronto. Try everything!
This is my favourite restaurant in Toronto. High quality food with excellent services, very friendly staff. It s better than some of the Michelin Star fusion restaurants in GTA. Recommend to try the tasting menu.
Its nice to have street parking nearby.
Second visit My favourite is the truffle pasta! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high-end filipino dish experience. Friendly staff and great atmosphere
Shoutout to our server Julia and chef Danny for giving us one of the best high-end restaurant experiences yet. Mineral proudly represents Filipino culture and proves that an elevated version of Filipino cuisine can succeed. Highly recommend coming here if you ve got the budget or if you wanna do something special with loved ones :)
I will even give this 10 stars times 100! Omg! Super duper delicious! Chef Danny even went to our table anf have a little chat!!! The best birthday dinner i ve had!!! Proud to be Pinoy!!!
This is, by far, the best Filipino restaurant I have ever been to. Although the dishes are influenced by other cultures, the chef and his team have represented Filipino cuisine at its best. Chef Daniels take on the Caldereta is probably the best I have ever had. Many Filipino restaurants have attempted to create their own version, but they have lost the distinct flavor that makes this dish what it is. However, Chef Daniel has managed to ensure that the flavors remain intact. The enseymada is to die for. The truffle does not overpower the flavor of the enseymada. We had their tasting menu, and it was worth every penny. Their Filipino cocktails are amazing. The location is great, and the service is friendly. Yesterday, I went out with friends and we had some disappointments in this restaurant. We booked a table for four at 8 pm but received a call rescheduling our reservation for 8:15. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table near the door with the air conditioning blasting directly above us, forcing us to keep our jackets on the entire time. After selecting our drinks, they took a minimum of one hour to arrive, well past 9 pm when they finally did. The tasting menu also began arriving at the same time, and on the second dish, they served us only three slices of salmon, despite there being four of us, meaning my husband missed out on tasting it. When we complained, the waiter apologized but didnt bring an extra slice. The tasting portions were meager and laughably small; we had to split a grape into quarters so everyone could taste everything! Unbelievably, we upgraded to include lobster, which never came! And when we complained, once again, the waiter apologized and said it wouldnt be coming because he forgot. When the bill arrived around $600 we discovered they had brought us a dish not included in the tasting menu and didnt inform us. They were four dumplings, each costing $18. Overall, the food is tasty but forgettable, and the experience was terrible! We wont be returning, and I would never recommend it!
The food was delicious but our server was very pushy and kept trying to upsell us. First it was pushing us to do the tasting menu, and then when we didn t want to, it was pushing us to add more food to our order. Everyone at the table felt it, it was some of the pushiest service I ve ever had, almost laughable it felt like we were being served by someone who works solely on commission. Made the experience feel tacky food was good but overpriced and portions were very small.
Thank you Mineral for being so graciously accommodating of my dietary restrictions!! Absolutely out of this world Tuesday Tasting Menu!
Worth Trying. A refined, cosy and modern approach to Filipino food. Underlooked to probably one of the most overhyped resto of 23/24. Apart from some interesting apps, drinks and dessert, unsure if theres value here. Pineapple - sweet and savoury, perfect combo, unique and interesting. Must try. Tuna - nice, one bite with the cracker, tart otherwise. Bread - crazy for $6each. Laminated like a crispy creme, truffle butter is strong, foie gras adds little, gets overpowered. Worth trying. Broccolini - perfect. Top 2 of the night. Must order. Fish - decent portion for sharing, nothing spectacular in terms of taste, cooked perfectly. skippable. Beef - cooked perfectly, fall apart tender. Too little sauce, no puree or mash to help intake what little sauce there is. Good but not memorable. Ube - strong flavours, great textures. Must try. Calamansi Cheesecake - decent, not an actual cheesecake but more like a tart. Worth trying. Overall - its a refined experience, but from the hype I was expecting a lot of flavour bombs. The pineapple was most memorable, everything else is executed well but nothing special. Takes AMEX.
The two of us came here to try the tasting menu. ALL dishes were served to be shared . All the dishes tasted good but only the dessert really wowed me. Being Cantonese, the least impressive dish for me would have been the BBQ pork(char siu) with lettuce wraps. Its good but not something Id want on a refined tasting menu. Dessert Ube Leche Flan which was actually my favorite had to be split between 2 people. I think each guest should have gotten their own portion. Also, wasnt a fan of the preset tips Starting at 20% which I changed to my own preferred amount.
Tasting menu overpriced. One duck leg for 2 person to share, many dishes they give you one instead of 2 even though you order 2 tasting menus. Go alone and order 1 tasting menu for the same portion. Wagyu dumpling upgrade horribly salty and overpriced. Food comes out extremely slowly. Waited 7 minutes before being greeted by someone at the doors. Flavors for certain dishes are bizarre. 2.99/5.
First timers should go for the chefs tasting menu. Worth it!
Went to Mineral for the first time (we were a group of 4). The restaurant is beautiful and the service was good! We were all excited to get the Chef Tasting menu for 95$ each (drinks/beverages are additional cost). Although the food was high quality and beautifully presented, I was very disappointed with the serving sizes. All my friends agreed that the portions should have been doubled for the main course. 4 people had to share one duck leg and we each got 1-2 pieces of pork neck. They also brought one tiny bowl of rice for us 4 to share. What we experienced would have been better for a party of 2...not 4. Also dont bother paying more for the wagyu dumpling. It is extremely salty. I have been to many tasting menus and unfortunately this was the first time I left hungry.
Great philipino fusion restaurant. Creative dishes. Flavour and presentation are both on point. We went on the set menu night but they were also v accommodative and able to make some changes to fit our diatary restrictions. Service was tentative. Nice atmosphere for private conversations. Will certainly go back and try other dishes from the a la carte menu.
Phenomenal spot. A handful of really talented people came together and created an incredible culinary experience. A must try!
Ensyamada was amazing, would definitely have 5 of those next time. The course meal set was a fun shared experience and prepared with skill and love!
Amazing! Cant wait to go again
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. My husband and I are regulars at Mineral and we love Danny Cancinos food! He is a one of a kind chef and is always so kind to us. Highly recommend all meals, but the tuna kinilaw is incredible!! They have a tasting menu as well which is a great add on to the menu. Highly recommend!
Fantastic menu and service!
Wow extremely satisfied experience with great service
This place makes me so proud to be Filipino! The amount of passion, attention to detail and all the while still staying true to hints of Filipino cuisine is beyond anything I ve experienced. KEEP IT UP
Every bite was perfect Thank you Chef Danny for such a delightful meal!
Delicious!
10/10 so so good! Everything on the menu is excellent. Service & atmosphere are great too.
Incredible gem of a restaurant. Wonderful creative food, great drinks and a team that really understands hospitality. Theyre a cut above. Thank you Bruce and Greg for such a special evening!
Good food! Amazing staff! Thumbs up to the Chef!
One of Toronto s best restaurants! Chef Danny, Bruce, Greg, all the staff really, are so kind and welcoming. They do elevated filipino food the right way. Everything is delicious, visually stunning plating, gorgeous interiors, yet unpretentious. Immaculate vibes if you will. The pineapple kombu, ensaymada, noodles, pork neck and cod are my personal favs but you can t go wrong with anything. Perfect for date night/when you feel like treating yourself. You won t regret it!
Had the Tuesday night prix-fixe menu which was ~7 courses with dessert for $60/pp. The menu was fantastic and a great progression of flavours. Special mention to the Tuna Kinilaw, Ensaymada, Wrapped Cod + Broccolini, and Ube Leche Flan. The cocktail menu is also well constructed and absolutely worthwhile exploring. Bruce was a great guide to the menu and had perfect suggestions to go with the dinner. We ll absolutely be back.
The food and service are consistently amazing, and it has such a nice vibe. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Toronto.
I loved everything at Mineral. The decor, the restaurant s colour scheme, the food and the service. Mineral serves coffee in the daytime and elevated Filipino cuisine at night. Try their Ube Latte if you re there before dinner time! Their dinner menu changes so there s always new things to try here. I actually loved every single dish that we ordered - Oysters, Tuna Kinilaw, Pineapple and Kombu. Broccolini, Lamb, Ensaymada with House Cured Duck and the dessert of the day: bread pudding with dulce de leche. My two favourites were the Pineapple and Kombu: beautiful blend of umami and sweetness and the piece de resistance: the Ensaymada. Ugh, I would get the Ensaymadas to go if I could because it was like a warm cheesy hot cross bun and you get a side of house cured duck and truffle butter. It was like a warm hug. Definitely coming back.
Loved the experience at Mineral. Came for brunch on a Saturday with a few friends and it did not disappoint. The brunch menu is small but everything was delicious and reasonably priced. My husband and I shared the shokupan sandwich (10/10), french toast (9/10) and beef stew on rice (7.5/10). We also ordered a matcha latte w/ oat milk and yuzu mimosa both were very yummy. We can t wait to come back to try their dinner menu!
Been here twice for their daytime menu and twice for dinner over the past year and a half, each time with a slightly different menu but consistently delicious and exciting. Im still thinking about the truffle steamed egg in the Shokupan sandwich that I had two days ago. The team here is great and know what theyre doing. This place deserves a Michelin star!
Great presentation, general ambiance, and taste. Stopped by for lunch and was met with a warm welcome and delicious tea to go with the food recommendation.
Ive visited Mineral several times for brunch, lunch, dinner, and just for coffee. The quality, service, and experience are consistently excellent. The same, unparalleled care goes into the preparation/presentation of every dish and drink you order. The restaurant itself has an elegant atmosphere and creative menu, but the ambience is still warm and unpretentious. The menu evolves and is always fantastic. Recently had brunch there and loved the shokupan sandwich and french toast. Always love the ensaymada! Going again for dinner soon so will update my review on my latest favourite dinner dishes... The last review I saw noted this place is Michelin-star worthy and I have to agree, so try to get here first :)
Edit: Bruce was very attentitive to our concern and provided me with a breakdown of our first tasting. All the individual items from the first tasting came to a total of $300 not including the wine. I was mistaken to say the caviar was $260 as I based it on a google photo menu. My concerns were clarified and all my questions were answered and so we decided to come for a second visit. This time the selection was carefully chosen and exceeded our expectations. The variation of tastes in several plates complimented each other. What stood out was the duck confit; some crispness, sweetness and umami tastes all in one. The bone marrow crust over an extremely soft short rib surprised us. The broth in this dish made it a warm comfort food. The scallop had a unique blend of ingredients and beautiful presentation. The mushroom noodle was rich, creamy and filled with truffle galore. Of course, we had the ube flan again with sake pairing. A great touch to the end of the course. Thank you Bruce and Juliette and the rest of the staff attending to us. We left satisfied and full :) Old review: This is my first ever review I have written. I really wanted to like this resteraunt as I chose this place to celebrate a special occasion. I booked it a couple weeks ago through their instagram and was really looking forward to it. The price was never mentioned and for the price point of $600 with tip for 2 people, the value was not there. We ordered the tasting menu with 3 wine pairings. We shared each plate instead of getting our own. The taste was underwhelming with hints of Asian flavors where you can find in most asian resteraunts. Its not very fair to add an item that will substantially increase the price of the tasting - caviar for $260 on their regular menu, where all the regular items on the menu would cost $199 not including the wine. They did add lobster tail and duck prosciutto to some of the dishes; but $199 for 1 dish each when there was 2 people did not sit right with me. On the other hand, they do make the food look aesthetically nice. The best part was the dessert with sake pairing. The service was nice. Overall I was left disappointed though. Its not the money that was the issue it was the value that came with it. We were left hungry and we went to a local sushi place to fill our appetite for 3% of the cost. The 1 star is to demonstrate the confusion for all the overinflated 5 stars.
This is a Filipino-inspired restaurant, and it was fun figuring out which cuisine the menu could have gotten its inspiration from. The pork dish (I believe was a korean fusion) came out super burnt and inedible and the staff kindly let me switch it out to another dish. With the party of 2, I am not sure if it is possible to get a table here..
Absolutely sensational! Loved every single dish we ordered and enjoyed every moment at Mineral.
Went for dinner with friends and service was outstanding! Every single dish we tried had unique flavours and presentation Standouts were the Scallop Inari Pockets and Tuna Kinilaw.
Perfect experience! The dishes are also creative and perfect. I especially appreciate our server Bruce, who gave us good recommendations and are super patient and professional. Must take a try.
An amazing experience. Every dish was fantastic and the service was impeccable.
Mineral is aesthetically beautiful. My friend treated me to this wonderful dinner for my birthday. The service was top notch. From bringing over a light to help us see the menu to cleaning our plates at the precise moments without being over bearing. Every staff was attentive and personable. They did a fantastic job hiring such a genuine team who look like they all enjoy working together. The cocktails were delightful, I asked the bartender/owner to surprise me and he did a fantastic job creating an unique and delicious whiskey cocktail. Food wise, everything was good but the stand out was the pineapple kombu. Such a simple dish but executed so beautifully with a burst of flavour and textures. The pork neck was soooo tender! We didn t care too much for the wrapped cod, it was good but nothing too special. The jumbo crab was well prepared but in my opinion it was too pricey, $36 for 2 legs. The mushroom noodles were quite rich and decadent, wasn t as inventive as I had hoped for. I found the prices were quite high but the service and ambiance made up for it! The staff surprised us with a ube flan on the house for my birthday, which was very kind and thoughtful. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Can t wait to come back to try the scallop inari pockets, they smelled tantalizing! Food: 4 stars Service: 5 Ambiance: 5
Best coffee in Toronto and a beautiful interior!
Very unique and enjoyable dishes.
Service, food, ambiance- everything was amazing. Had the Prix fixe menu on Tuesdays and every dish was delicious. The pineapple kombu was a favorite of the table as was the duck prosciutto and bread. Would come back for sure.
New favourite restaurant in the city. Incredible food, spectacular service. Every dish was amazing and was paired perfectly with wine selected by the somm. Couldn t have asked for a better evening. 12/10.
4.8/5 We had another excellent meal here. Great flavours and textures with a Filipino and Japanese touch. The host and servers are very professional and attentive. This remains one of our favourite restaurants in town! Review from Jan 2023 Exquisite food and fantastic service! We thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a restaurant. We had the Tuna Kinilaw, Ensaymada, Scallop Inari Pockets, Glazed Duroc Pork Neck and Ube Leche Flan. The Ensaymada was my least favourite as it wasn t all that different than a donut to me, but everything else was fantastic! Very impressed by the intricate bursts of flavour in each bite. A bit pricey for the amount of food you get but we were very satisfied with our experience. Would return!
I can t say enough about this restaurant. It was our first visit and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Truly unique and delicious, and the service was great. Friendly and professional staff that were more than happy to explain all of the details of the dishes. I love the fact that the food and atmosphere are spectacular without being stuffy or pretentious.
10/10 Celebrated my birthday dinner, hospitality was amazing, service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely salivating. We experienced the chefs table and executive chef Danny executed with excellence
This was my first time here and let me tell you all, it was NOT a disappointment. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was extremely attentive and professional. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. My friends and I are a bunch of foodies and give this place a 5 star!!! Definitely be back
Amazing homemade seafood noodles and liver mousse dumplings. Desserts is a must order and coffee mocktail was one of the best non-alcoholic drinks Ive had in a long time. Friendly waitstaff with causal vibes and their bar seating is super comfortable. Went back for a second visit and their truffle mushroom noodles, duck confit kare kare were an absolute delight! The ube leche flan and miso bibingka are also light and yummy desserts.
This is my review as a vegetarian I must admit i was pretty disappointed with their tasting menu as a vegetarian. I was told there would be vegetarian substitute for each course and there was no actual vegetarian substitute. I was basically asked to eat the vegetarian sides that everyone was offered. I know doing family style it isn t always easy but I felt misinformed about what I was offered and was charged the same full price as others. I will admit all the dishes that I was able to try was delicious and the others raved about the other dishes. @Mineral - please inform your vegetarian clients that they will only be served veggie sides and there is no actual veggie substitutes.
Overall I had a great experience here :). My friends and I did the chefs tasting menu and everything was delicious and plated beautifully. The servers and staff were incredibly patient and friendly as we were running late and we never felt rushed at all throughout the whole service. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven t!
In a word: Amazing. This is the place to go for a truly elevated Filipino culinary experience. The food is tasteful, surprising, twisted with talent; the service is full of attention. It s a true gem in Toronto.
Went for my dads birthday and they gave us a complimentary jasmine soft serve. (Item off menu) However, it was accidentally added on the bill. I wouldnt have noticed if my sister didnt check the bill. We waved down our waiter to mention this to him and before we said anything he said oops, let me take that off the bill. I had already paid at this point. The fact that -he knew- before we said anything and would have let it slip is sketchy business and I will never be returning and advise everyone to check their final bill. Never have I experienced this. Wanted to come here to support an Asian business but left disappointed. Asides from this, the food was okay. Half the dishes comprised of truffles which was a bit much. Notable Dishes - Amuse bouche. It certainly got my excited for my meal. Palawan Punch - clarified drink. Very pretty and tasted great. Well balanced. Not too spirit forward. Jasmine Rice soft serve - quite good. Lovely subtle rice flavor.
Fantastic service, incredible food and delicious drinks! They were also very accommodating for a vegan diet as long as you let them know in advance.
Best restaurant in the city without a doubt. Leo, our server, was absolutely incredible
Coming from a Filipino background, Mineral effortlessly creates a new modern yet familiar take on what Filipino cuisine is without taking away their traditional flavours. Quality of service was paced well throughout the night and each dish was presented beautifully.
Incredible!
Very good choice for meet friends, All the dishes are carefully prepared, both beautiful and delicious, and the service is also very considerate!
Amazing innovative Filipino cuisine
My favourite are the ensaymadas. They are absolutely amazing, I want to be buried with them!
Every time is a magical experience. Makes eating out what it s meant to be.
Everything about this restaurant is wonderful - the food and cocktails are absolutely top notch, the ambience is great and the team who work there are the loveliest humans. We can t recommend it enough - every bite is delicious!
Amazing food and service! We tried the tasting menu and had a great time! Will definitely return and recommend! Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to our toddler.
12/10 perfect level of sophistication and casual, and the food was incredible. Highly recommend for a set menu. Great value and every dish was amazing. If a la carte, I d recommend the oysters, kare kare, inari, ensaymada (so good), and ask about wine pairings. Casual fine dining atmosphere; great service and prompt dishes with just the right amount of spacing between courses. Limited large group seating (from what I could see) but also a very nice bar to post up on. Dont sleep on this place.
Easily one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Every dish is creative and full of flavour, the ambience is beautiful and intimate, and the service is always good. My favourites are the ensaymada (definitely try all of the add-ons), scallop inari pockets, chicken inaasal, filet mignon kaldareta, pineapple kombu, and of course, the ube leche flan. Cant wait to come back!
Tasting menu The portion is large and tastes good The service is very enthusiastic The restaurant is small but very cozy Parking is not convenient
Excellent food and exceptional service. Thanks for a great evening!
Absolutely blown away by the unique flavours, creative dishes and amazing service at Mineral. From start to finish, dining here is a treat. The menu delivers an elevated and modern Asian fusion experience with expertly crafted combinations. The service is professional and attentive. The standouts for me were the Ensaymadas, the Ube Flan and the Inari Pockets. Highly recommend and cant wait to visit again soon.
Used to be great. Now OK. Extremely slow even when not full. Prices are out of whack with the experience. Food is pretty good and portions are pretty small. Service is variable, some great but some weird and awkward. Uncomfortable seats designed for short people only. Not the star restaurant it used to be.
This food and overall experience is killer. I m 68 and I m not certain I can remember a comparable experience in Toronto. Ever. We had perhaps 10 or 12 courses; there wasn t one that we could have done without. And the service was in the same league. They are all pros, and it shows. It would be a treat at twice the price!
Best mushroom noods in the city!
Very terrible experience at Mineral. They have the fixed menu for every Tuesday, so the price is calculated by person. However, its not worth it at all at this price, all the dishes taste awful. My friend and I was not satisfied with the servers attitude as well. I will not go for the second time and not recommend others to have a try.
Popped in here for a snack....ended up having one of the best beef tenderloins i have ever had. The dishes are fun and very well thought out. The owners philipino roots are showcased while still using classic techniques. Service is impeccable. Greg the maitred is so professional and kind. The open kitchen allows the guest to see how precise the chefs are. I can definately see this place getting a michelin star in the future. The wine list is crafted for the wine enthusiast. They have wines u will not see on any other list in toronto. This is a must visit for any foodie.
This was my first time having Filipino food thanks to a friend. Everything from service to the Pinot gris wine to the 12 course tasting was phenomenal. Pricing explains why it s so great!
The degustation menu at this restaurant was an absolute delight! The culinary journey was highlighted by the exquisite Wagyu dumplings, tantalizing duck dishes, and the refreshing twist of flavors in the tuna kinilaw. However, the only letdown were the cocktails, which were merely okay. They didnt quite match the outstanding quality of the food. Nonetheless, the service was truly excellent, adding to the overall exceptional experience. In summary, despite the slight miss with the cocktails, the phenomenal food and outstanding service made it a memorable dining experience.
Great staff, food and atmosphere!
Fancy Filipino fusion that blew my mind.
The food here was delicious and I would say it s a very good tasting menu for $100. The flavors were very nice and there was a variety of textures. The dessert was an absolute show stopper! The ube flan was my personal favorite. I think the service was ok. But it felt forced and like they were frustrated with us. We were a big group, which they knew before we came, and I understand that this time of year is really busy and hard for the staff, but I guess it was the only area where things could have been better. We ordered our cocktails before the meal began, and they didn t arrive until we were half done the meal. There were so many courses that I understand they needed to keep things flowing, but having our drink to enjoy along with the meal would have been nice. Or they could have told us to choose wine instead, so it would be faster. Also the description of the dishes were rushed. Overall I would say if big groups are hard to handle, maybe don t accept them? Or they could have treated us as two tables to make things easier.
Best meal I ve had in Toronto since restaurants opened up again in mid 2021. Interesting flavours, great delivery, superb bar, and perfect service. I had FOMO for every plate I saw go by and loved my food all the same. The only criticism would be a very slightly rushed pace of service.
Nice ambience, friendly staff, good food. Their foie gras & bread was to die for.
I m not sure where to start, the service was amazing and the food was beyond my expectations. I recommend getting a bunch of the plates and do family style dinner! Everything tasted incredible, my only regret is not ordering the other plates from the menu! We were served by Julia, and she was so attentive, genuine and helpful! She made our experience at Mineral even better! This place is a gem, great addition to Toronto. Their Espresso martini is to die for! Appetizer: Pineapple + kombu Oysters Tuna kinilaw Ensaymada (not shown in pictures) King crab Main: Mushroom noodles Seafood noodles Cod Confit duck leg Dessert: Ube lèche flan
What an evening! Our table of four were ready to order a couple of dishes for ourselves but with a recommendation of family-style service by our server Julia, we were sold - she also worked out our selection of 12 dishes into five separate courses. Our dinner was timed perfectly which made for a flawless evening. The flavours were bold and wonderfully balanced, there was just enough sweetness and acidity in every dish. Don t be fooled by the rare sight of an overly-inflated-negative-review but instead be awed by the pretty presentation and the harmonious flavour profiles of Minerals dishes for yourself.
Amazed with this restaurant. If you like all sort of Asian food, this is the perfect place to come for a great mix! With every bite I kept being impressed. We received a complimentary amuse bouche that was DELISH. A coconut, potato soup with more yummy ingredients that I forgot. We were three and would rank it with the Tuna Kinalaw (the pairing with the blood orange is something i never know i needed), Duck Confit, Crab Legs, Cod (was too good to share with the group) and the Chicken Adobo. Would recommend 1-2 more appetizers for three people! Would love to see more mocktails on their menu - exciting to taste what they could come up with! The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable! Coming back here with my whole gang for my birthday!! The patio is opening soon too!!
Ate here on a special night out. Great food, great service and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Amazing dining experience here to say the least! We ordered the pineapple appetizer, mushroom pasta, pork neck, short ribs & the Ube dessert and everything was delicious! The pork neck and short ribs were so tender and tasty. Ube dessert is a must have too. Sitting at the bar was such a vibe and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. Recommending to all friends & family :)
Great meal, server and experience!
Don t be fooled by the over inflated reviews and pretty presentation. Dishes failed to deliver and left little to be desired. The asian fusion dishes were forced and clumsy, flavours were competing for attention, not well paired nor harmonious. It really felt more like seperate ingredients thrown into one dish for the sake of creativity. Particularly the pineapple kombu which tasted like a layer of non fragrant chili oil, on top of of over fried kombu, and overly tart pineapple. My least favorite dish. Overall very disappointing meal for such a highly reviewed restaurant (based on google stars). Dishes we tried (tuna ceviche, pineapple kombu, filet minion, mushroom noodle). The mushroom noodle was the one exception and was well cooked. Prices were also on the higher end, would not recommend this restaurant!
Delicious meal with great service! Amuse bouche definitely helped start the meal. Pineapple + Kombu was good but the brightness of the dish really shines through after taking a bite of the ensaymada (the truffle butter made the bun divine)! And the ube leche flan, which reminded me of a halo-halo, was absolutely the star.
Mineral is a fantastic experience, whether you re looking for a casual night or something more fancy, it s always incredible. The food is delicious and the experience is top shelf
My new favourite restaurant in Toronto! Exceptional service. Decadent and delicious food. Wonderful wine selection. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in the city.
Our server was amazing, so thoughtful and attentive. It was our anniversary and she surprised us with a desert! The beef tartar in bone marrow is a must try. We also had the seafood sinigang, the ensaymada, the golden rice, and the duck breast, all of which were good but not spectacular. Overall, a lovely experience and addition to the city, with one standout dish and four that were just okay.
What an amazing restaurant! Great service, the food is delicious and the ambiance is perfect! We will definitely come back!
Amazingly good food and drinks
Holy moly, that was so good!! It s rare to see Filipino food in this light and it was very impressive. I will definitely come back :)
We were very excited to come here and try everything given the reviews and pictures but unfortunately our experience was very underwhelming. Too many dishes are truffle heavy, all kinds of truffles, which are not even in season. We asked our server to recommend a wine based on our food selection and she pointed to one and said it s my favourite we ended up picking a different bottle that actually pairs well with all the truffle dishes. The beef tartar is mediocre, oversold by the bone marrow but it s just used for presentation. The flavours of most dishes were lost because of the truffle.
This restaurant transports you and makes you feel like you aren t in Toronto anymore- Floaty hand painted clouds, modern and viney music- Bar seating is my favourite. Perfect for a girls night and intimate enough for a date. Every dish is impeccable- so hard to pick a favourite! Nice cold bar selection and chef Dan makes seasonal changes on the menu so it keeps you coming back to keep trying new dishes! Pineapple Kombu, Pork wraps, mushroom noodles, Inari pocket, tartare, and Leche flan are so flavourful an beautifully plated. Service is excellent- Julia is so charismatic and fun! Every detail has been thought through carefully. The whole team is so friendly and so welcoming. Thank you Mineral team for such a great experience! 10/10
Overall salty.. especially pasta and bread. Its difficult to say that it tastes good.
Absolutely loved everything about Mineral. Came here for dinner, the space is super cute and chic and comfortable. We had some cocktails, and ordered a bunch of dishes from their menu and shared everything. Everything was so flavorful and delicious, beautifully plated. Cant believe we havent been till now! The staff are also super nice, I loved that they introduced each dish as they brought it over. It was overall a great experience, the food was incredible. Best dish of the night, we all agreed, was the mushroom noodles, literally want to come back just to have that! Their bar also is very nice, Id be down to come back even just to sit at the bar and have a drink.
I recently ate here again and they managed to surpass the high bar they set in the past. Excellent service, atmosphere, but most importantly - the food! Easily the best Beef Tartare I have ever had in my life. Beautiful and delicious. Thank you Mineral! Highly recommended.
Food and coffee is outstanding! A must try for anyone who needs a change from the multiple Italian options in the area.
I loved everything we ordered in Mineral. It was my husband s birthday & they served us complimentary birthday dessert. Everyone (staff) was very nice, friendly & attentive. A must try! We re from NY, how i wish we have something similar near our area.
(An open letter to Mineral) My Dearest Mineral, I think Im in love with you. When we first met back in 2019, I was instantly intrigued by your Filipino fusion ways. You had a pork neck wrap that I couldnt stop nibbling, a duck leg that was so tender, and seafood noodles that had me seeing stars upon first slurp. I wasnt completely head over heels about you yet then, given youre a bit pricey and offered a limited menu. But I went back a few times and knew I wanted to get to know you more. Then suddenly, you left for someone called Covid, and I wasnt sure whether it would be out-of-sight-out-of-mind or absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder. But now youre back, and after seeing you a couple of times since, I know its the latter. Yes, youve changed a bit. Your Filipino roots are still there, but youve branched out more. And the change is good. Tried a few things at our last date and thought they were really good. The scallop inari pockets are not just a thing of beauty but also really tasty and well executed. The crispy brocollini is easily one of the best veggie dishes Ive had in the city. The wrapped cod wasnt my favourite, but was flavourfully nuanced and delicately executed. The pairing of foie gras with your butter-golden ensaymada buns just brought it to another level. And the miso and pear torte had just the right level of sweetness, and that coconut pandan sorbet was the perfect complement to it. But Im a sucker for your Filipino-based dishes. And the absolute standouts to me were a new dish and an old classic. The beef shortrib sinigang I tried for the first time was soooooo good. The beef was fall-of-the-bone tender and glazed perfectly. But it was the sinigang broth with its distinct sour-savoury that made this dish one of my favourite beef dishes in the city, period. And of course, your classic ube leche flan dessert is still one of the best fusion desserts Ive had. So yeah, Ill scream it from the rooftops: I love you, Mineral. I know you are still a bit pricey and have a smaller space and a short menu. But you are absolutely perfect in how you create dishes that are comfortingly familiar but excitingly new. I hope youll accept my proposal for a long-term relationship. And dont worry, we can keep it open so the rest of the world understands how amazing you are. ps: That said, please please please bring back your seafood noodles!
If you havent been to Mineral, youre missing out! We found this restaurant on Open Table, saw the 4.8 rating and thought wed give it a try. WOW, are we ever glad we did. Mineral serves up Filipino cuisine with an elevated approach reminiscent of a Four Seasons dining experience. The service is absolutely next level. Not in a pretentious way, but in a warm, welcoming, intimate way which really enhanced our experience with the food. So now lets discuss the food. Im not sure what we expected when we made our reservation, but without a doubt everything we tried far exceeded our expectations. The tuna tartare was a feast for the eyes and the palate, served with crispy crab chips to top with the generous helpings of marinated raw tuna, fresh avocado, and a refreshing citrus marinade. The oysters were fresh and topped with a tangy sauce, and the cod was out of this world, served on a roasted banana leaf and simmered in a heavenly coconut broth that we soaked up with steamed rice. Being situated at the bar afforded us a front row view of the bartenders in action, and it was a great show. Each cocktail was a work of art, decorated with curls of lemon peel or thinly sliced cucumber delicately placed with chopstix. We enjoyed a refreshing beer with a hint of green tea that was the perfect accompaniment to the perfect meal. Kudos to the chef and his team for elevating Torontos restaurant scene. We cant wait to come back!
Took out my bestie for birthday dinner and we had such an amazing time there. The ambiance to services to food, everything was amazing. You can just tell that people really care and love what they do here. recommend!
good service but pricy
The food was incredible. They accommodated our seating request to be in view of the kitchen. Our server was attentive, professional and the perfect amount of friendly and chatty! Water service was perfect. The food was terrific. The inari pockets were incredible and the smoky flavor was lovely. Theres so much going on in the pockets...... I loved it. Scallops, king salmon, rice, apple slaw. The shortribs were incredibly tender and the broth added another level of interest and complexity. The pineapple was very interesting and delicious. The ensaymada were incredible as ever. I wish I could eat those every day. Theres a reason that mineral has such incredible ratings. Its a lovely experience and a perfect date night spot. The service was impeccable and we cant wait to be back! P.S. The bathrooms had the thick kind of paper towel which I always find a tiny bit of delight in. And Le Labo soap! P.P.S. Their homemade hand sanitizer spray is such a nice touch.
Had a really outstanding experience at Mineral. All of the dishes were outstanding and great for sharing. Nick provided exceptional service and made us feel right at home.
I recently dined at Mineral with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the tuna kinilaw, ensaymada with foie gras, mushroom noodles, scallop inari pockets, duck confit, and beef sinigang. Every dish was a hit (no misses, which is very rare)! The influence from the talented Filipino chefs in the kitchen was brilliantly displayed in the food. Service was excellent across the board. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Mineral and look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommend for your next special occasion!
The food is great... and I and my party had most of the menu items... but the ambiance was not in line with the price point. I spent over $800 for a party of five... the ambiance was more in line with a Jack Astors than the premium experience this restaurant wants to be. The music was much too loud (which raises the volume on all conversations) and the room temperature was way too cool (I had to dine in my jacket). Finally, we were given the bums rush toward the end of our meal after 4 courses, numerous cocktails, wine and beer. Think about going and where your money might be better spent.
Food was good. Server is nice. Except they messed up the most important part of the night. I ordered a custom cake made with imported Japanese yuzu with pomegranate sugar that was almost the price of the whole dinner ($180) to celebrate a birthday. They tell me there s a cake cutting fee sure, no problem. After dinner, I signal for the cake. I m excited from all this planning. I watch them take out slices of the cake on little saucer plates with the message and candle on one of them (see photo). Holy I m confused why this happened. Birthday girl gets excited and thinks we got free restaurant cake. I m internally cursing my head off at this point. I maintain my composure and mention the situation to our server. The manager or whoever the guy is comes over to tell me there s a miscommunication issue. I didn t care what the issue is. Manager tells me he s going to make it right. Ok maybe I ll feel better because he ll comp me drinks or a food dish. No, he says he ll take off the cake cutting fee. Wow. Great. That s like bringing a beer to my table then taking it away and saying you did me a favor and didn t charge me. Again Food was good. Pia the server is nice. Whoever the manager is who could ve made it right, not the brightest which is why this review exists.
Beautiful interior and great concept, but did not meet our expectations. Given the price point the service was subpar. While the food was well prepared we were not blown away by anything in particular. Of note was the compressed pineapple and kombu- wish we could have seen more of these flavours throughout.
I can t make comments on foods here because this restaurant s server don t even give me a chance for it. Sit on the bar for 30 minutes watching waitress flirting with bar tender and ignore my order request for 3 times. Nice job.
Excellent meal. Incredible service. 10/10 would go back. You re missing out if you haven t been to Mineral.
The ambiance and service was fantastic. Definitely Filipino inspired. If you re looking for filipino food this isn t your restaurant. High class, really enjoyed the deserts, and the pineapple kumbo. I was expecting some more Filipino inspired cocktails, and beers. Wish there was a little more Filipino tastes peeking through!!
Amazing food, service and design. Definately recommend.
Atmosphere, Service, Food, Cocktails, everything were awesome!! It was delicious! !
Incredible experience here. Came to celebrate my birthday. We were a group of 10 and had a prix fixe menu with several courses of delicious plates. Everything was scrumptious! Staff was super friendly and accommodating to allergies etc. highly recommend and will definitely be back again.
Our party dined at Mineral for my friend s birthday. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was on point! The flavour combinations were perfection, especially the Foie Gras and Prosciutto with the Ensaymada. 10/10 would highly recommend this restaurant.
This has quite possibly become my favourite restaurant in Toronto. The service is great, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is very nice too. If youre a fan of Southeast Asian flavours I highly recommend checking it out. Ive had almost everything on the menu and have thoroughly enjoyed every dish. I cant wait to go back soon!
Probably the best experience Ive ever had in a restaurant. Food was amazing, service was awesome, vibes were immaculate.
