Only went here for take out. They had a variety of cooked filipino foods/ulam available. They also sell pantry items. The food was okay, the food i got was pretty oily that i couldnt finish it. The price was reasonable for the portion they gave me. Will try other options next time. Staff could be a little bit more friendly. They served my friend but took longer to acknowledge me, as i wanted to order too.
I've lived in this area for 3 years, and only yesterday/today was my first time going in and trying, abd it did not disappoint! VERY wide variety of Filipino foods, snacks and desserts 🍨 Very friendly service and very clean dining room! I came in 850am to try their breakfast...ended up with Beef Kare Kare (1 item meal) 😅 quality is how I remember it cooked very well and came with a complimentary soup ❤️🔥 Found a nice spot in the dining room and just had a relaxing experience over all, and the music is 👌😆! Highly Recommended and definitely will be back 😊👌
We've eaten here a few times and also had them cater too. The food is exactly what I need for a proper fix for Filipino food. Glad to see that they've been in business for many years. We will definitely keep coming back here. 🍲
First time visited Tagpuan. Small & cozy store! Staff are very friendly & nice! Got lots of Filipino snacks & treats! Will recommend friends!
Regrettably, my latest order from Tagpuan through Uber Eats was a disappointment. After being told one of my three items was out of stock, I was hopeful about the remaining two. However, the egg pie arrived burnt, and my feedback to the restaurant was met with denial rather than an apology. They claimed the charred top was intentional, though it tasted otherwise. A clear misstep in customer service, it would have been better to be informed that the egg pie was not up to par, rather than receive a compromised dish. A lesson in the importance of honesty and customer care is much needed here.
Tagpuan is a filipino restaurant. Of course I could not figure that out myself till I step inside. I would say I was lucky to find this hidden gem by the crazy toronto traffic. I saw the place and thinking to take a break from the traffic. Back to the food, this is a like a fast food restaurant and mini-market on one side, and a sit down cuisine on the other side. There are so many combinations on the menu which I wanna try. I ordered 2 combo and the famous filipino roast pork to go for me and my wife. After 1 hrs of traffic and got home. The food is still crazy hot. But I was worried about the crunchy roast pork got soggy after trapping in a plastic bag for one hour. Surprisingly, roast pork still very crunchy with many flavour left in my mouth. I order the #35 chicken and #37 shrimp fried rice combo. The meal set is big. We need to finish it in 2 days. The garlic rice in the combo is amazingly good, every rice with a lot flavour which bring out the essence of garlic. I personally like it. You need to try to see what I meant. My next visit will try the Silog.
Too expensive for so little food. Paid $62 for 5 items. I could've just gone into a restaurant and gotten table service for that price. Food taste is mediocre and very oily. Small size of some type of beef dish for $12.99? Super expensive!!! Thank you for your very kind and professional response. I appreciate it! Granted that food prices are at an all time high. But as I mentioned before, I'd rather spend my money at a restaurant where I can get table service and tip 10 to 15 percent depending on the service I'll get. Plus the portions will be much more. Your establishment is like a cafeteria type style service, where you stand and ask for what you want. Reminds me of my high school days here in Canada. And the portions were big. Thank you!
A bit smaller than the Kennedy location but the food is still good. My wife and kids love both locations so it just depends on what part of Scarborough we are traveling to or from. Very filling dishes that are cooked to perfection and will have you back for seconds, thirds and twentieth lol
food is delicious as always and they have small convience store..
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant and will never be returning. The taste, quality, and overall presentation were far below expectations.
All-time favorite Filipino restaurant
Serving is not much and inihaw tenga ng baboy is so hard to bite.
I think the food is mediocre and they overcharge for a very small portion not recommended for value every where else tries to add Value this restaurant is not what you expect better off going to a real establishment Im sure different customers have different rates pending on who you are
Best Filipino food in town! Super yummy!
Very friendly place to dine in, or if you are in a rush take the food with you. Eat and shop eat and shop. https://agents.wfgcanada.ca/edu-lewis Food
Always lovely friendly staff....delicious food and comfortable dining experience.
Great food we have ordered here many times
Tagpuan I found it . Great place to eat
The sisig is delicious
Generous serving size. Food is cooked to perfection! Kudos to the owners.
The food is always wonderful and the people are absolutely lovely. The space is very comfortable and welcoming, I always have a great visit.
Good Filipino food nice ambiance lots of variety perfect for a quick snack, dinner, a meeting or date night!
Ordered caldereta, bbq, and tapsilog. The fried rice (from tapsilog) tasted like soy sauce and burnt garlic. I dont know how all the meat was so hard to chew too. They seem old and reheated. The pork in caldereta was just a big chunk of fat. The bbq was dry and tasted weird.
I order from you guys all the time. You guys gave me old stale meat with a dead bug in it this time. Disgusting. This food was very old why did you even package and send this to me How do I post pictures I can show you the dead bug at the bottom. Also where I tried to chew the meat and then spit it out. It was obviously old food I could have gotten sick
The chicken adobo and pork steak was delicious. The only drawback was the garlic fried rice. It was quite mushy.
My favourite place for takeouts! Delicious!
its about the beef mami we ordered today! i ordered 7:58pm and it came 8:30pm...im just saying everyones order came first but we arrived first before those who ordered with us arrived just sitting at dine in but all their orders have arrived except ours so I will finallow up if I havent finallowed up maybe it hasnt been done yet... of course the food is late and were done eating because it took a long time to arrive so we need to just take it out Im not angry Im saying we just take it out... but the person working on it looks bad the girl behind me because its true that the food is late.. if its the staffs fault why are you looking at me badly? you attitude ghorl??? we are regular customers here almost every day my wife and I eat here... I also dont understand why combo 1 cant have the beef steak but my brother gave it to me, sometimes it can sometimes not....then when I order its not possible anymore, why are they just shopping for who they want??? ??
All the staff just ignored us when we are ready to order. I called out the staff and told them that no one is helping us with the order, one staf has the audacity to reason out that they are busy and they are doing something. Also, the tapsilog has eggshells when they served it. I wont recommend going here.
Always come to the main Tagpuan in Victoria park loved it felt like just in the Philippines with my children who always enjoys the food. Very satisfied also order here whenever there is something for children s school everyone loved the food. Highly recommended. Delish food. Dine in Take out Delivery everything.
Tasteful. Good service. Interesting recipes.
Vic Park and Lawrence..not going back and not recommending for eat-in... Shop is messy/cluttered projets as unclean. But food is good.
Portions are very very small. Food isn t bad but portions are just small. Not worth the price
I ordered goat for dinner. If theres only o , I will put 0. We are very disappointed because we can t eat. It was burnt and overcooked . We will not recommend this store. Big disappointment.
Food was great and tasty! Ruel was accomodating and nice to us! We will come again because of him for sure!
Very nice food and service
One of the best spots for Filipino fix! Their ulam are the stars! Specially Dinuguan and Sisig!
the sauce of kare kare no taste then staff was rude and creepy beef cardenta too hard and kare kare too hard
Worst Service. This is the 2nd time that we ordered from here where they have sent an incomplete order. We even thought that it was the uber drivers fault. But when we called the restaurant to follow up, the employees just said yeah it was left behind, can you just order another item and so we can send it to you? They werent even sincerely apologetic about their mistake. The Tocino (Tocilog) was hard. The Fried Eggs that were supposed over easy were old too. This is VERY disappointing. This will be the last time we will order from this restaurant. We will surely not recommend this restaurant.
The food was very good! Kare Kare and Dinuguan was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff.
The chicken sisig is a must-have. Try it
Its a philipino place that you will be satisfied with service, food and ambience. Go, dont wait
Ordered kare kare and didn t come with rice was expecting rice since it s a Filipino restaurant lol and the price rice should have been included
extremely disappointed for my New Year party , $70 for 100 pcs of Shanghai extremely small and medium Palabok who used to be tasty but this time was tastless , you guys distroy my new year evening , showing this food to my guess was so dissatisfying , my guess and I will never order from you again.
My family and I were extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and understanding shown by the workers. Despite bringing up my concerns about the size and cost of the spring rolls, they were rude and unapologetic. This experience has left a bad impression on my family and I. We will not be returning to this place due to bad customer service.
The taste of Filipino food they serve are all on point (tama Po Ang timpla). They offer a wide variety of Filipino food. I will say their food is well worth your money. They also have lots of friendly staffs. I strongly recommend this place. Cheers
I was excited to order food for our gathering the next day, so I called the restaurant to inquire about their party-sized noodles. The lady who answered was extremely helpful and polite, informing me of the available options and reassuring me that they were open until midnight for further orders. However, my experience took a turn when I called back at around 10 pm. The man who answered this time was unexpectedly rude. Despite my explanation that the order was for the next day at 12:30 pm, he brusquely told me it was too late to place the order, in a tone that was far from professional. I was taken aback by this poor service, which was not what I expected from this establishment. After this experience, I will never order again nor go to this restaurant nor recommend it to my family and friends. I just hope this is not the same with their other branches.
Nick and Ruel, thank you Tapsilog, Beef caldereta and beef Kare Kare STRAIGHT FIRE Food : 5/5 |
i bought a whole letchon 30 lbs for $320 and i was expecting it to be crispy , tasty and fresh(classic Lechon), instead, i got a whole lechon that looked like it was frozen and thawed to be sold again, taste was flat, meat was chewy and not crispy at all! WHAT A WASTE of MY MONEY!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER BUY from this store again... For any occassion, please dont even think about buying from this store!
Great food. Yummy
We were there around 6pm , there were no people when we came , suddenly about 3 people came and started looking at the food as well ( some food look as if from yesterday) then the owner ( I asked someone who he was ) suddenly came out from nowhere in a loud voice - without smiling or having a pleasant face )said hmm you guys should fall in line instead of crowding the front of the display Well if you are done shopping then you should fall in line but if you are just looking at the food I don t think you have to The server didn t have her mask on while talking to customers in front of the food The place did not appear to be pleasant to me I heard a lot of negative things about this store but since we were in the area we tried at least The owner appears to be frowning on customer as if you are not welcome in his store Plus the food is so pricey . What I hate most is the staff especially the owner probably think they are the only Filifino store in Toronto I regret spending my money here Either this store should stop being unfriendly and rude to customers or we should find another store that appreciates our business NEVER AGAIN!! Not a happy customer ! Update: The owner not willing to accept our observation and calls it accusation He wants the people to stop doing reviews ( which he calls damaging his reputation) instead of correcting the complaints He also claims he is a fighter and won t correct the situation What a terrible reply If he just apologize and promise to get better I could have deleted my review and write a positive one instead
Amazing food especially the bulalo
More of a take out supermarket. Food is well price and really good tasting.
I always order through UberEats. Everything I ordered was really delicious!!
I live in Halifax now, but I make sure to come here every time in Toronto! Please open a store in Halifaaaaaxxxxx Best Filipino food spot in the GTA
Food is good but on the pricier side. One small tub of ulam costs $11. Also wanted to point out that when I bought chicharon bulaklak, they weighed the boiled bulaklak (not yet fried) first and priced it as opposed to frying FIRST and THEN weighing it afterwards for the price. I see what you did there lol.
They have really good tasting chicken barbecue. But this one I ordered for delivery is undercooked, like a medium rare but it s chicken! So I cooked it in my airfryer for a good 30 minutes, then we enjoyed it after.. I really hope they re consistent.
Amazing food. Always good
Food is constantly good. Service is good but I find that more attention is paid to their kind than to other cultures that come in.
Good variety of Filipino food and snacks, good friendly service, clean place. They also ship packages to the Philippines at a very reasonable cost and it gets there within 2 weeks, better than the usual shipping companies. Parking lot is quite small for a busy plaza, but this is not Tagpuan s fault. One suggestion: at the checkout please ask the customer if they do need a plastic bag before handing them out, or use recyclabe paper bags.
Food was great when I visit Canada again will definitely order their food again
Food are good, place is clean and staffs are friendly
They serve people with a smile, and the food are delicious! If you are craving and looking for a variety of Filipino food, this place is perfect! They also have mini grocery, and they have a dining area for when you want to eat with friends and family. The buchi and the tokwa is a must try!!
Love to grab a quick lunch from this place as they offers a good variety of popular Filipino hot food, snacks and desserts.
Serving portion is small. Rice was a bit mushy and Beef pares is sticky. The staff said it comes with an egg but there s no egg when I checked it at home. Expensive meal. Not worth the price. Food
Nothing tastes as good Lots of food varieties Worth the price
I ordered three items: chicken fried rice, lomi and leche flan. The chicken fried rice was too oily, and I was not too fond of the smell of it. Lomi soup/noodles werent great either, and it was flavourless. I think out of the three items; I liked the leche flan better.
One of the best place to go if you re craving Pinoy yummy fudz . Fast and Friendly service and generous portion. Highly Recommended Food : 5/5
Pork taste good ,but texture of meat not the same. Probably old meat was mixed.
The chicken skin has a lot of feathers in it. Very unappetizing to taste the fuzzy hair in your mouth
Karekare was OK, palitao for dessert - shared. I bought salted eggs - my 2nd time - tasted great as usual. Also bought empanadas w/c I love (usually) I would not recommend their empanadas to anyone - worst I ever tasted. Food : 4/5
i ordered a small tray of Pinakbet and Menudo. Heres my review; Menudo - good, taste the typical Menudo i grew up with. i would recommend. Pinakbet - disappointing, the vegetable were not cut properly, its like the one who did it doesnt really put much effort. I ordered pinakbet because it was really recommended by my friend but to my dismay, its not comparable to the pinakbet I know. I waited longer than I expected and I was a bit lost as to where i will pick-up my order :-) anyways, i am writing this review so they can improve. thank you.
I always order pares on Lawrence location but since I m rushing I ordered here. Soooo disappointed. Konti ng serving ng pares only 3 pcs of meat. Like whattt. HALF lang ng usual servings on their other location. Wala pang sabaw. Hope they re consistent with their service regardless of location.
We normally order 4-5 large containers of food from Tagpuan once or twice a week for the last 4 years. However, tonight the bangus we bought seems to be broken. Ive tasted it before and it was delicious.. but now its a little bit smelly and too oily, its like you drank a spoonful of oil when I first bit into a small piece of bangus I called the meeting place immediately to report to them 10/18/2023 7pm. The woman on the phone just said that its ok, Ill tell the cook. Its not about acting, but the dish is really tasty. His voice seems to lack confidence. Ive been a buyer and loyal to the place for a long time and I just called today.. its boring. Well anyway, if the service is just like that, its not all the best. I hope you trust the customer. Just because of that you lose customers.
The chicken skin always tastes like its burnt and you dont have any life, then the other dish quickly becomes boring
Ordered uber eats, the best kutsinta here in Toronto only at Tagpuan Scarborough.
Looking for Filipino groceries, cooked foods, or dine-in? This could very well be your spot! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Their cooked foods all look delicious. I usually go there to pick up their delicious chicken or pork chicharron. So good!
Friendly service, accessible and lots of parking spaces.
I got to eat my favorite food and share a nice dinner with my mother.
Catered a relatives birthday. Food was incredible, everyone at the restaurant was super helpful (Ruel helped us walk our order out to the car.) Cant wait to go back.
My go to Filipino food. One of the best tasting in my opinion. Fair prices. I just went there an hour ago and the guy helping me was very nice.
Food , price is ok, service
Tagpuans food were delicious to the point a lot of people just kept coming back for it! I have been going to them before they even expanded their location. Their Beef Caldereta is my favorite dish! Their sisig tastes so good my girlfriend kept on buying it on a regular basis! Decent amount when it comes to portions! Dont feel like eating their dishes and just wants snack? They have it all!!! From ube hopia to toasted garlic chips they have it! Looking for an all day Filipino breakfast such as SiLogs? They have it! Try checking them out!
Stopped in here on a trip to Toronto to bring some treats back to friends in Halifax. Wow this place is disgusting the smell of rotten food hits your nose as soon as you enter. Health inspectors must be in short supply in this city. I continued shopping quickly and the entire time I was there a lady behind the counter kept yelling across the store and annoying customers. She introduced herself as Shen and continued to yell, why they keep her employed is beyond me. She spent more time chatting to others than helping me with my inquiry. I ended up having to leave and visited another Pilipino store. Horrible experience. Clean your store and fire that big mouth she completely ruined my first visit to your store.
Very disgusting foood
Great selection of dishes, friendly staff, take out or eat in the food is good.
Good food. Great value for money!
Organized chaos with a smile! This spot has it all, a hot table where you can dine in or takeaway, a ton of different desserts, and Filipino products up the yin yang. The place is a bit cramped and I did feel that there was a bit too many people, but generally speaking it was quite a bit of fun and honestly the food (chicken skin chicharron ftw!) is very reasonably priced!
The food was very good and tasty. Highly recommended if you are carving for Filipino dishes.
Staffs behind the counter and in the display food area are very rude! The owner and the management must train and remind their staffs to respect their customers who politely came to their store to purchase some foods. You must value your customers who strongly support your business than those staffs you have who are ruining the name of your business with their Karen attitude. Victoria Park branch: Is it right to mock your customers who was just asking politely. I spent almost a $100bucks just to be mocked by your staffs! Is this is how you offer good customer service ?! I have visited so many Filipino restaurants in Toronto and I never experienced such horrible attitude from their staffs, yours was extremely surprising!
Great Filipino food. Place is clean. Price of food just a little bit higher than the other Filipino restaurants but its worth it. Give it a try.
Great Sis!
Such yummy food and fantastic staff!!! Salamat!!!!
Must try the chicken skin
Thank you for your service
Tagpuan means meeting place. A Filipino store and restaurant. Authentic pinoy cuisine. Tasty sumptous taste of tropical Philippines. Pinoy snacks and grocery are available too... Bus stop right at the plaza. There are parking spots in front too. Staff are nice. Theres remittance center also. Everytime I come here its feels nostalgic.
Poor consistency. I ordered a combo 2 which includes 2 ulam, rice and a bottled water. I got the same order 3x at this location and I always get lumpia and Pork BBQ. The first time they gave me 5 lumpia with a dipping sauce, the second time they gave me 6 with a dipping sauce and this time they gave me ONLY 2 lumpia with no dipping sauce. It seems like the staff just guesses how much they should put. Victoria Park Branch
For me different taste of food. Quality food are good. Some of them not good
If you re looking for Filipino food, this is the place to go. It s also a store where you can find lots of Filipino food items. I didn t ask if they sell Balut.
We ordered Halo halo. Quite expensive for $11.30(with tax) and just 2 Tbs of ingredients in a small plastic 20 oz cup. I ask to put some more milk as it s so hard to mix and I over heard the server to just put water on the Kitchen staff . .so rude. Well I don t know what they did but still doesn t taste good for $11.30. I m not coming back.
Great food.
Always a thumbs up for there hospitality.
Paid $18 for this. A disappointment when I got home.
Great food, prices and service!
The garlic rice is too oily as well as their pinakbet. Belly bangus is not fully cooked. . I can t even eat the food..won t order there anymore!
The best Filipino food take out restaurant in all of Scarborough and its only my 3rd time eating here!
my wife and i went there yesterday to buy food for our dinner and while looking at their meal i saw 2 mice running around the store and i even pointed it to my wife , i hope they figure out how to get rid of them (mice) before health and safety officers come to inspect their store.
This Filipino food was really quite good and the portions were generous. There were a fair number of options to choose from. The counter help and cashier were quite friendly and explained what was in the dishes available. It is like eating in a market store. You have to get your food, like in a cafeteria, pay for it and then find a free seat and table. The seating is a little tired, but all in all, it was a good experience.
Nice little place. Delicious food and other snacks.
Perfect place for my filipino dish cravings.
I love the dinakdakan. Keep it up !
Dietary restrictions: Seventh Day Adventist foods Parking: Parking enough even for pick up truck
I was craving for pork sinigang when I found this place on Uber Eats. My order hit the spot. I prefer the soup to be a bit more sour, so I m giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
Ordered fresh lumpia and it was tough to eat... especially with the sauce - It had goo like substance.. ordered 10 and could barely get through 1. Very disappointing for the price I paid.
Love the food and desserts
Delicious Philippino food
Very bad customer service
Thumbs up
I love the location at Victoria Park more than so in Kennedy location. The staffs are always welcoming with the friendliest approach. My usual orders are their Tapsilog with the amazing vinegar specialty they provide on the side and unlike any other Filipino takeouts they serve brown rice as fried rice for breakfast which is a healthier alternative. Great job!!!
I give 3 stars only for the food. The place is too small for the amt of stuff they sell. At the entrance theres too much notices/posters that it has the place looking very tacky. Theres a sign limiting 8 persons inside but no control or monitoring of this & no social distancing.
Delicious
Large selection of tasty Filipino dishes. Home cooking style. Good lechon kawali and yummy bibinka
There was a bug in my food. Very disappointed.
Lots of Filipino food options. They have Goldilocks cakes too. Prices are reasonable. We always come back to this place whenever we re craving for Filipino foods.
This is one of the many good philipina resturants in the area. There are few along Lawrance west! If your in to Philipina Food and enjoy meat and fish... check it out.
Good food and friendly staff, every time Ive gone its been a great experience
I order pancit but got some spaghetti kind of food which was not good!
To much people but very nice and friendly
A bit pricey but ok place.
Food is native to Filipinos and has other services like remittance and catering.
Whenever I crave for pinoy cuisines and sending money to Manila..Tagpuan is the answer
I just tried delivery services. Its a filipino resto good for pinoy food lovers..if your missing some filipino recipes that u think u cannot cook well, tagpuan is just a text!call away tru skip the dishes and uber. Affordable Good food guaranteed!
Great tasting Filipino dishes. Desserts and drinks (taho and halo halo) great too.
The staff are friendly and polite. The foods are delicious and the pricing are reasonable.
My wife ordered here a few times.... new years and a few weeks ago for a birthday Great food
Foods are great for Filipino dishes !!!.
Their food its okay but a bit pricey and serving is small
Great food and prices
Great Filipino restaurant been going here for years and doesn t disappoint. All though I can also say there are some times the quality of their food is inconsistent form time to time
Food is good
Tagpuan is our go-to place for Filipino meals. The menu is a wide variety of family favorites, whether it reminds one of a home-cooked meal or party food. The price is just right too. Good service by friendly staff! Will keep coming back.
Great
I feel cheated on the pansit i bought yesterday. There was no real meat in it but fishballs thinly sliced yet same price. Bangus was 5.99 each small slice. which to me is over priced, i did bought anyway, im just expressing what now I know of and maybe I will have a better choice of food next time.
The Best Philippines food in town! And the staffs are very accommodating and very kind. I love going there
If youre Filipino and would like to eat. This is one of the restaurant I would recommend which is affordable. You can pick 2 dish of your choice, rice and bottle water for cheap but delicious. They have groceries too. My family loves to buy chicken skin chicharon. Even we live far from this store. My husband drive us here.
Good food but terrible service. The woman behind who was helping us was texting on her phone while serving me (she probably thpught i couldnt see because she was trying to hide the phone behind the counter). They give you 1 part of your order first and fail to tell you that it would take 15 minutes for the 2nd part of your order to come. I ate my food and my friend had to wait and watch me eat mine while he waits for his. And when his finally came, i sat there watching him eat because i was done my food already. When i followed up with the rest of the order, the cashier was giving atittude and did not even apologize.
yummy Filipino food
Affordable viands!
Its good for a change sometimes- worth a try!!! But Im still/a fan of(filipino restaurant) Coffee-Inn at Lawrence and Birchmount.
Great food
