My workplace just had a lunch bought from this place. Horrible portions. Idk what they’re thinking but you can’t even get enough from these. Update: I just finished what scrap I just had and the taste is mid. I would have expected some heavenly Filipino food for such small portion but nope. Just mid
This is the best Filipino restaurant I have ever been the kamayan meal is absolutely delicious. The mix of seafood and meat is well seasoned as well as the garlic rice it is really an amazing mix 😋 the service deserves an applause as well thank you for our kind waiter who had to take care of a table of 12 ppl he was very quick patient and friendly thank you👏🏼 25$pp in toronto that is fantastic!
Relish the taste of home with good friends at Tinuno with their Kamayan feast!!! See pics! This entire feast comes with all the garlic rice you can eat. Oh and did I mention the vinegar and the soy sauce? That’s what you call sawsawan. Make sure you go there hungry!
The kamayan was probably one of the best meals I’ve had in my life! The meats and seafood were seasoned and cooked perfectly, whereas the garlic rice and veggies complimented them beautifully. The desserts were also a lovely finish to the meal. At roughly $30pp for dinner and dessert, it doesn’t get better than this.
Small cozy place that serves authentic tasting Filipino dishes. The breakfast silog is highly recommended for people who want to try Filipino breakfast (order it if you're going there solo or with a few friends). The ube cheesecake is perfect to cap off the meal. Cooked viands are also available for take out. Service is superb.
We got the Kamayan for four people and it was delicious! Amazing portions and everything was a hit. Especially liked the fish and the pork skewers, great flavours. The mango salad was nice too. Friendly staff and good service. Looking forward to trying their breakfast options next time!
After Tala closed during COVID, they reopened under Tinuno. This is the first time I have tried traditional Filipino food that is not served on a plate. It has been a while since I had to eat with my hands and the experience was awesome. The Kamayan feast basically gives you a taste of everything, you can choose between tilapia or milk fish, we chose the milk fish because the meat is more dense. It was grilled to perfection, perfectly salted. The squid was grilled just right, tender and moist, so are the shrimps and mussels. Simple flavors, the way they should be. The pork belly and pork skewers have the basic sugar soy garlic marinate, Chinese style, perfect fat and lean ratio. I love their bottomless garlic rice, I think I had 2 refills it was so good. Small joint, I would recommend reservations, there is always a line but the turn over is fast if you decide to wait. Strongly recommended!
We had been to the other location and wanted to try this one for convenience. The last time we had this type of meal it was a great experience and the repeat presentation did not disappoint. Service was quick and friendly, and the table for 8 of us was well set up and there was plenty of food provided. Two types of fish, pork skewers, prawns, mussels, okra and eggplant, all roasted and served over delicious garlic fried rice. You could eat it with utensils if you wanted, but we made use of the gloves at the table and it felt like an authentic experience. The fish was a little too blackened so eating the skin made it a little too charcoal flavoured, but the mussels were my favourite seafood. We also ordered extra roasted pork which was probably the most delicious part of the meal and I would highly recommend it.
Best Filipino food in the city. Awesome lunch special
Been going to the original location so as long as I can remember. Food is always amazing and the people are so kind.
My boyfriend and I visited this place to experience eating with your hands, and the truth is that it was incredible. He used the gloves they provide, but I decided not to use them (obviously I washed my hands before!). The food was delicious, especially the dish called Kamayan, the most famous in the place, which costs 25 CAD per person. For two people, it is perfect: you are completely satisfied and the fish, along with the rest of the dish, is very tasty. The place is highly recommended, both for the quality of the food and the fast service. Without a doubt, a culinary experience of 10. Say no more
The take out portions were big enuff for a Large Ulam could feed 4 people.. compare to other filipino take outs.. I rank Tinuno #1. Wheelchair accessibility: Nope
Food is so nicely presented and is full of flavour. Service is quick and friendly. Cosy spot.
Really salty milk fish, the garlic rice was lacking that garlicky punch.
Delicious food platter at a fantastic price, the service and the employees were all very cheerful. The music is rather jarring pop but you can mostly ignore that
Love this spot!!
The grilled tilapia was raw
Have been here for three times. I always order Kamayan Feast. We find that shell could be used as a spoon. It s funny when having it. The taste never let me down. Look forward to the fourth time. lol Food
Original Filipino cuisine, we eat without cutlery, with our gloved hands...
Food its good But.... I can taste and My mouth is dry, thirst for hours after eating, food with too much ( MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).
The food was authentic and very delicious! Very little wait times, and the dishes came out perfect. Would definitely come back again.
We used to go there once a week!!! Good food! Good service!!!
Got poisoned with my friend after eating here
The Kamayan feast is one of the highest value for money items in the city. The variety and quantity of meat for $25 per person is incredible and it tasted amazing with excellent presentation. This is a must try.
Fish was a bit dry, and seasoning was too salty. Other components were alright
The most authentic Filipino food in Toronto! Went with a group of 5 and the food was incredible. Would recommend going with a group (4+) as the meal is meant to be shared. Place is a GEM
A little expensive but worth it...
Tinuno s is always packed for very good reason. The kamayan feasts are beautiful and magnificent and the people who work here are so sweet. Maraming salamat for making my partner and I s anniversary a delicious one. Sarap to the bone xxx The bangus is some of the best I ve had in the city.
Good spot or Filipino food. Try the breakfast!
Tinuno is a staple in the Toronto restaurant scene. With freshly cooked and delicious foods to the kind and accommodating staff, it is always a joy to bring my friends and family to this establishment. Food
Special and good meals
Great little hole in the wall restaurant serving hearty Filipino cuisine. The Kamayan set per person is a generous spread of food and very delicious. Service is great, but the place is a bit tight.
Best Filipino food I have had in Toronto.
Went there to eat and try filipino food so many tables available but refusing to give us one they are telling us we can only eat there for 1 hour. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
My comfort food.I love the Garlic rice
Ordered a pickup of the Kamayan Feast. This is a fun way to eat Filipino food. You get to use your hands and try lots of different stuff like seafood, meats, and veggies on banana leaves. The speed of service could be a hit or miss but overall, its great place to eat with a bunch of your friends. The prices are good at $25pp for the Kamayan Feast. The rice this time was a let down though as they didnt do the usual garlic rice.
Friends and I had a feast
Top place to enjoyed native Filipno dishes! Good Food at good price! Try the boodle fight food.. great experience to enjoy dining with friends and family
The food was so delicious and they are accomodating the customer well. Its really recommended one.
Brought me back to Manila.
The food looks good, but unfortunately, I couldnt eat here because they only offer one dinner option, which includes shrimp. Im allergic to shrimp, so I couldnt try it. They do have more options, they just have breakfast, but not for lunch or dinner. They should add more variety to their lunch and dinner menus. Just one dinner plate?
Food was amazing! The garlic fried rice was one of the best Ive had from a filipino restaurant. Definitely a spot to hit up if youre in the area!
The food is great & cooked well. However, the place is small and the air conditioning is not enough that it feels uncomfortable after a while especially the place is often packed on weekend.
The taste is average, just a gimmick.
Good experience and food for reasonable price. Order the set menu so you can try everything, just fyi you eat with your hands and they dont serve anything with alcohol. Food
Please be mindful that they will add 18% tip automatically to your bill. I found out after I told the girl at the reception that I am ready to pay with my debit. She gave me the terminal and told me about the additional charge. Happened to me recently when I dined in with 5 people including myself (as per the menu, the 18% gratuity is only added for a group of 6 people). They did not advise the customers prior to dining in and felt it being dishonest. I love the food but service and the charges flawed. Hopefully it won t happen again.
All of the food was great as well as the service. 10/10 would go again Dietary restrictions: They allowed us to remove the muscles and pork from the rest of the meal. Food : 5/5 |
I ordered 100 pieces of lumpia to take to an office lunch. I ordered via phone a week in advance and followed-up a day before the pick-up to re-confirm the order and details of the pick-up. We AGREED that the pick-up time is at 11 AM on a Thursday. I got there around 11:10 to pick-up and pay, surprisingly, the food hasn t been cooked yet. The staff came up with an alibi (instead of apologizing) and said to not worry because it would only take 15 minutes to prepare (like Im supposed to feel good about that). The food was served around 11:30 and I was late for my event which was a total inconvenience. I understand the concept of Filipino time, this is a nuance that should be left in the Philippines because in Canada, this is frowned upon and people should be respectful of each others time. The worst part of all this experience is that nobody seemed to care, the staff was just singing mid-day karaoke and nobody was apologetic about it.
It was a very good experience with my friends . Its a first time I had food on a banana leaf with fish , squid shrimp, mussels, okra and eggplant with garlic rice . Dont forget the mango salad. Good atmosphere too specialy with your friends .
I saw it online and decided to make a visit.Im craving for Filipino foods ,but as soon as we seated ,We were informed about the Kamayan Set per person is huge so I ordered 2 full sets for me and my husband and I know we cannot finish that so I told her that my daughter can share with me since she is only 10 yrs old .The server explained there are no sharing and will charge also for one full set.I don t get their idea of Boodle fight if I cant share my meal which obviously I won t finish it .I immediately left and ate at Manilas Finest happens to be their beside competitor.
Went here with my coworkers to try out their infamous kamayan. The food took a while to arrive, but understandable since there were six of us. The food was SO good and comforting and tasted like home as well. I will definitely come here again if I was missing Filipino food. Place was a bit tight but prices were decent for what you re getting.
You gotta wait on meal time. The garlic rice is by far the best.
The food is not good at all and overpriced. The menu says Lechon belly but they served us grilled liempo. The place is small and crowded you can barely move.
Interesting food presentation on banana leaf. Combos of meat, poultry, fish, and rice. An experience to use fingers to eat food.
Very tasty and fast
The food was great along with the price. Very hospitable and accommodating! Thank you ate s and kuya s at Tinuno surely will comeback.
Best Filipino food in Toronto. I live in BC but don t miss a visit every time time I m here. You get great service and food. I always get the same: Kamayan feast! Delicious. Food
My family of four got the kamayan feast for a late lunch. The portion size was great, and the variety of food was amazing! The pork skewer and pork belly were definitely the tastiest and most flavourful part of the spread. The garlic rice was also really yummy. The fish, the squid, and the eggplant were pretty bland though. This filipino restaurant is pretty lowkey from the outside, but is a great experience to have with friends or family! The service is pretty quick despite how busy it is.
IF YOURE NOT PHILIPINO DO NOT COME HERE. Came in as a group with my friends (we are all black) and the atmosphere from the minute we came in was met with uncomfortable stares, the waiters could barely keep eye contact as if we were some scary people and they definitely acted as if we were in the wrong place the food was THE ONLY okay experience about this place. It s basically a shoe box with seats very, very, small not recommended for groups At all ( we were only 4 people) and as I stated before if you re not Philippino or Asian- YOU WILL be uncomfortable.
I always went here for Kamayan, and it never disappointed.
I have been here a few times with family and friends. Great food and staff! Kamayan or noodle fight is always the way to go.
Worth the experience. Food was very good, everything so tasty. The whole fish was a little bland but with the condiments available at the table it becomes great. Food : 5/5
All around amazing experience. Though I am not a Filipino, it still gave me homely vibes. The food was equally amazing, specially the rice, in a single word, it was heavenly. The servers were kind and very responsive.
This place is such a gem! $25 for the ultimate boodle fight aka the Kameyan! Here is is only one menu, and it s so epic! their Kare Kare is so good definitely come with friends and eat non stop rice and seafood the traditional Filipino style!
Nice Philippine dishes
$25 per person for a kamayan with a good amount of food. That s a deal. Food was quite yummy. Mussel, pork skewers, milkfish were all delicious. Although the squid needed some help in the flavour department but I combined some hot sauce, soy sauce and vinegar which was an easy fix. Service was okay but I wasn t dining here for that. However, I would appreciate the tables to be cleaned properly. The Ube cheesecake hit the spot. The texture was just the way it should be. But the Turon came out cold and definitely wasn t fresh. Nonetheless, it was a pleasure dining at your restaurant.
Delicious as always!
Delicious Filipino food!
The food is incredible! How did I not know about this unique little spot. They tried charging me 3x for a pop but corrected it when i spotted it.
Great Kamayan feast spot! Fresh food and friendly staff. Small restaurant so be sure to make reservations. They have 2 floors. Kid-friendliness: High chair. Picnic table style upstairs.
LAHAT MASARAP! (EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS) We dined as a party of 4 and got the KAMAYAN. Our time here was a SUPER AMAZING experience here at TINUNO! The meats were so tender, including the fish as well! The eggplant and okra was freshly cooked. The mussels were AMAZING. The best part about this, UNLIMITED Garlic Rice! We also got the additional SINIGANG ng BABOY and the Lechon Kawali. SUPER DELICIOUS! Service was amazing. So nice, speaks tagalog and english, and greets us! The place is quite small but has some good decorations that represents the FILIPINO CULTURE. I would go here again just for the KAMAYAN. 5/5!! MARAMING SALAMAT for reading this review!
We will definitely come back!
Delicious. Had the tapsilog
We ordered lunch at work and they delivered delicious food plus packaging is really nice.
Will always love tinuno for the atmosphere and the food! They recently added their cassava cake onto the menu. Definately worth a try if you have a sweet tooth and are open to trying it out
Looooveeeee good price amazing food, super friendly staff! Jus 10/10
It was really good We enjoyed a lot but one thing the table next to us was very noisy
We went there with friends to eat their famous kamayan experience and it was different from everything i tried before. We ate with our hands and made our experience more fun and the food was good too definetely would recommend this place and i think when friends/family come to visit us here in Canada we will definetely bring them to try their Kamayan here it is worth Parking: Paid street parking around the streets Wheelchair accessibility: They have stairs not accessible for wheelchair
Love the renovation to the space. Their food is so good and extremely affordable.
Loved the Kamayan! Delicious and flavorful
Not bad. I would stay away from the . Overall a good experience. Prefect for first date. lol
Cozy place with excellent food.
Garlic rice is awesome! Some of the meat is cold when served
Great food and service. a unique experience!
Just love the presentation of food on a banana leaf. The food tastes good and fresh and we had plenty of food for 2 people.
Late lunch is great for handing out with friends here. Fewer customers are ding in during this time. Cozy space. The garlic rice is amazing. BBQ like the picture is recommended.
Nice food, unlimited rice for the kamayan. Place is very small though
rice is unlimited for the dish in the photo
This dish is called Kamayan - a traditional feast in the Philippines. The dishes will be spread on banana leaves and loaded by hand. One batch will include: - 1 type of fish (milkfish or tilapia) - 1 grilled meat skewer (slightly fishy smell) - Grilled shrimp, grilled squid: grilled style, not much seasoning - Grilled okra - Grilled meat - pickles - Orange In particular, I like the grilled skewers and garlic rice the most. The smell of garlic is light, very pleasant. The location near Sherbourne is smaller. The service staff is average so dont expect service from them.
Awesome experience and great food! Portions are huge for $25/pp. The rice was also really good, I think it might be seasoned or just the grilled meats on top leave a great residue. The star of the show for me was the Ube Cheesecake. It was so moist and absolutely delicious. It comes with 2 portions for $8 with each order! Would definitely recommend this place! They ran out of pork belly and mussels though, replaced it with more shrimp for us. Overall great gem!
One word: AMAZING. This was my first time trying out Kamayan or Boodle Fight, the traditional Filipino food. While I am not the biggest fan of seafood, I really enjoyed the ones offered, milk fish is a new favourite it was absolutely delicious Its more than generously portioned for the price you pay! Its a must try!
I brought my friends here and it turned out that they liked the food so much. The food and place are great, as is the price. We ordered the Kamayan. They required now a reservation to dine-in
If you re a foodie and love to eat at restaurants, you should try Boodle Fight at this place. It s a bare hand eating style which is gaining popularity not just in the Philippines but overseas as well like in New York, UAE and New Zealand. A lot of non-Filipinos visits this place and try this style of eating. See photos how food is served and arranged on the table.
Everything was pretty good!
Love the food! Super yummy!
The seafood and barbecue hand-picked rice is $25 per person before tax (pictured is for two people), which is very conscientious considering the ingredients and the portion. Every dish is well made, but the most amazing thing is the rice at the bottom. It s salty and delicious, and I can t stop eating it!
Great Filipino restaurant, delicious food. A lot of see food, pork bbk, vegetables and rice. So good! Service is also great!
Tocino isnt cooked enough. Guys cook it more will ya?
Tinuno is a small Filipino gem in downtown near Upper Jarvis area. I had their signature Kamayan for lunch and it was an amazing communal experience. Everyone ate off the aromatic banana leaf that had a row of garlic rice topped with grilled pork skewers, vegetables, butter fish, muscles, squid, and shrimps. It also comes with some mean pork belly that is fried to perfection. Kamayan is a Filipino tradition where everyone eats with their hands only, no utensils or plates. The restaurant also has utensils too if needed. It is a feast, so make sure to gather a good group of friends or family to enjoy together (available during lunch and dinner time).
An underrated place. Came here during my first year of undergrad and came back 5 years later... the quality and service still holds. Id obviously recommend the kamayan experience. The service was amazing and my only complaint is that they ran out of the dessert I wanted to try (although the ube cheesecake we settled for was so good). It is a small place so definitely recommend reserving ahead of time.
Uber order the mini kamayan boodle fight and it was soooo good. Flavors where very well balanced with the sweet savoury and vinegar flavor. Love it , tasted amazing with the seafood (fish, calamari, shrimps), orka , eggplant , rice with the pork and slices of oranges and mango slices with vinegar sauce!!Was so delicious, delightful and filling Thank you so much , looking to reordering again :)
Two of us had the Kamayan, and everything was delish. Especially liked the seared coating on the tilapia, and look forward to trying the milkfish next. Staff were having a good time singing and dancing, so bonus floor show
One of my favourite restaurants in the city. The food is always fresh and done right. Also the best pork belly!!! The employees are also super sweet :)
Excellent food for a great price. We were a group of 4 and it was perfect having their food covering the entire table. Not a big space.
Used to be $15/person a couple years ago (2018) which was a very good deal. Now it s $25/person, and there are definitely better restaurants and better service at that price in the city
Love the kamayan! I recommend the bangus (milkfish) and the leche flan is a must-try! Super smooth and silky. I love that the garlic rice is free refills
I called the number on Google for the North York location. The employee confirmed my order both times as I called the second time to add another order. At no point in time, the employee mentioned that the number I called was the Downtown location. When I arrived at the North York location, they said there is a glitch with Google and the downtown location number is linked to the North York location. After 40 minutes of extra driving on Fathers Day, the employee at the Downtown location accused me of confirming the wrong location since they knew about the glitch for months and it s protocol for their employees to answer the phone as Downtown Tinuno , and confirm the location with the customer. When in fact, they failed to mention anything about the location during the calls and they put it on me, the customer. They told me to wait to speak to the employee who answered the calls since he is on break. I do not have time to speak with the employees and correct their mistakes. I also do not have time to drive extra 1.5 hours there and back for a mistake that they cannot seem to accept. I am not coming here again. Utterly disappointed.
Excellent Philipino spot, abundant, fresh flavourful food
Tinuno is a Filipino word for bbq, which is what this restaurant does very well! If you ve never had a Kamayan feast, Tinuno is a great place give it a try. Kamayan is meant to eat communally with your hands, but they also have a mini version for solo diners. It s about $30/pp, including charred squid, shrimp, mussels, pork, milkfish and vegs on a bed of fluffy garlic rice. They also serve all day Filipino breakfast silog which is your choice of protein on garlic rice, egg and salad.
Pretty good spot. Went here as my end celebration to Filipino heritage month. The lumpia was so good, reminds me of my moms lumpia. The ube cheesecake is a must try. I overdid ube as a kid so I dont like it as much as an adult but really enjoyed this cheesecake! Not too sweet compared to other ube desserts. Overall, good food and experience.
I had some takeout on Canada day - the place was PACKED and with good reason. The food is delicious and the staff are really friendly. I had tuyosilog (the staff warned it me its very salty! but I like salty food and I really enjoyed it), grilled bangus, and ube cheesecake. Everything was really good, but the cheesecake was fantastic. Cant wait to go back!
Deluxe seafood combo! Just wish the price of Kamayan can be more friendly to a person~
You should try! If you want an ultimate Filipino kamayan and boodle fight experience, this is a recommended spot. Loved it!
Very delicious Phillipino food/bbq ! Kamayan feast includes fish , shrimps, mussels, okra, garlic rice , pork , eggplants, carrots and mango , and orange salad , and much more , they do offer desserts as well . Friendly customer service , very affordable prices . A must try Veggie lumpia
The food looks great and the location has a warm tropical vibe. Servers were friendly also. But the food was fairly overpriced ($30 a person) for mostly unspiced, sauce-less, cold and or burnt meat. The variety was good, and the garlic rice was great but otherwise my tastebuds left unsatisfied and my stomach wasnt remotely full. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and assume I just hate this style of food, but even for the style the quality was just low. Personally dont recommend.
Very good experience and definitely more fun with more people. Food has been consistently good over the years.
Try once.
Looking for a good friendly Filipino restaurant? dont look very far Tinuno is the ideal place with a large group of friends.
Highly recommend Tinuno if you want to share a meal with friends while eating with your hands (they provide gloves). They do not split bills but you can always split amongst your friends. Its located near Sherbourne station (5-10min walk). Make sure to call for reservation ahead of time to guarantee a table.
It was disappointing to eat here. I still wasted time and tiredness to bring friends of other races to introduce Filipino dishes. I am still very proud of the work and our own. and just so we can experience whats available at this restaurant. And to know what the word tuned means. the carinderia and turo-turo here are even better. The food is very expensive and the employees here are very rude. You must eat here in a POSTURE/arrangement. Because if not, you can expect the employees here to treat you from head to toe. It seems that the homeless and the poor have no right to eat. If anything, I wont be surprised that it is really in the blood of my compatriots to be judgmental towards their fellow Filipinos. Poor the owner of that restaurant. I will not be surprised that one day they will disappear from the industry because of their bad treatment of the customers who support them. And another disappointing thing is that your food choices are very limited. The person I brought with me was not happy, I was ashamed of the behavior shown by my compatriots. Regrettable. Will never go here again. NEVER AGAIN! Dietary restrictions: Reduce vetsin and other chemicals just to make the food taste good. It is bad for our health. If your food is really good, you dont need to put things like that.
Food and atmosphere is good but price is not worth it if youre not a big eater. If youre a big family and will eat 25$ per person without sharing is not practical. Food
We have been dining at this wonderful small Filipino restaurant for a number of years. The Kamayan feast is delicious, with garlic rice, grilled fish, squid, shrimp, clams, pork, egg plant, etc., fresh mango & orange slices. Inexpensive meal, staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!
Great service and and tasty food! Whenever I come Toronto I ll go there with friends. Such a unique experience eating food with your hands
Fantastic prices and portions are huge. Lots of variety and flavours were delicious
Great food!!
I ordered this lechon kawaii, egg with rice. I asked to warm it up. When it came it was over reheated. The meat was very chewy. I was looking forward to have some crispy pork skin which was supposed to be attached from the meat. Unfortunately, I didnt see any pork skin. I bought one turon and it tasted funny. I always buy this turon at Seafood City Market at Scarborough and it always delicious. It was a waste of time and money to come to this place. What a shame!
Grabbed some fried pork belly for lunch. Savoury and all the great textures from this cut of meat. Garlic rice is a really great side for this.
Great selection of food we enjoyed the pork adobo and Kamayan on the patio on a beautiful Sunday. Only complaint is the awful and illogical no sharing policy for Kamayan, it needs to go.
Food was absolutely great-tasting - kudos to the kitchen, portion size can improve vs competitors, atmosphere was so-so - smelly washrooms & annoying background playlist, but waiting service was bad. Went on a Saturday afternoon for a boodle feast for 4. While the food was being laid on the banana leaf, we asked if they provide complimentary soup (we just wanted the broth, nothing else), they said no. We asked if they can add more ensalada (chopped tomatoes &onions) which was a measly serving on the grilled fish, server said shell ask the kitchen. We also asked for 2 small chillis (siling labuyo) for the soy sauce and again, was told shell ask the kitchen. We asked for bagoong (shrimp paste) for the steamed okra, server replied with, Ay, sa kare kare lang po yon (Thats just for the kare kare). FYI, the additional ensalada and chilli didnt arrive nor did she bother to let us know what the kitchen decided. This restaurant is a joke! These minor things matter to diners but seems like it matters more to them in the sense such requests will compromise their profit margin. No flexibility and wiggle room for such customer service. Felt like this place can nickel and dime you if they could for the little things you ask for. Reminds me of the kind of service you get from some restaurants in Manila, penny-pinching requests. Such a shame they practice the same here in Toronto. The boodle feast was good especially their bestseller dessert, the ube cheesecake. I recommend you just order the dessert to-go but dont bother dining in. You can get the same, if not better spread, with excellent service from other Filipino restaurants in the GTA who has adopted a more updated and westernized approach to customer service. The lame service really left a bad impression that made us question if tipping was even necessary. Will never go back to this restaurant.
It is authentic Filipino cuisine... more on grill. The place is ok, just not so spacious. Parking for fee is on the area. This is walking distance to Sherbourne subway station.
Food has no taste atall .it is like ur eating raw or plastic can t describe actually how it was .prices was high comparing to this tastelss food I don t recommend anyone to go there since it is a waste of money only even the staff weren t friendly neither welcoming at least to compensate that low quality of food .anyways it was an experience and a lesson .
Awesome Filipino restaurant. Feels like in old Manila days
Tinuno, located Downtown by Howard St, has an authentic Filipino experience of the Kamayan/Boodle Fight (eating with your hands). We have been here several times before and the restaurant is such a wonderful experience. They have two floors but both spaces are small and very cozy. This location has no dedicated parking spots. Make sure to reserve as it gets really busy! We went for the Kamayan experience where they have banana leaves laid on the table and dished out all the food on top. Their Kamayan has milkfish, tilapia, squid, shrimp, mussel, pork belly, pork skewer, okra, eggplant, mango salad and garlic rice. You can request for more garlic rice if you need to but theres so much just sharing with your group. You can also order more appetizers as well like lumpia (variation of spring rolls) and lechon (roasted pork) as well. They also have 2 locations total in Downtown (St. Jamestown area/Howard St) and Little Manila (North York area/Bathurst St). Note, there is much more options of appetizers and they offer the supersilog (less seafood) at the Little Manila location.
My go-to kamayan feast/boodle fight in Toronto for years. Food remains full of Filipino flavours - sweet, salty, sour, and ridiculously delicious - where I am licking my glove fingers If you have ordered through Tata (their sister restaurant) with delivery services, this is the location theyre operating from, which I have during Covid-19. Packaging is similar to how its presented as you would dine in with the box, but it doesnt do it for me. Can you call it a feast when youre dining with 2?!?! I enjoy the atmosphere, noise, and company of others in tight spaces ... call me nostalgic Parking: Street parking is limited during peak hours.
Had an incredible experience at this Filipino restaurant! The food was not only amazingly delicious but also brought a unique vibe when enjoyed with hands. The authenticity of flavors and the immersive dining experience make it a must-visit. Count me in for a return cant wait to savor those flavors again!
The Kamyan is an unforgettable feast each time
Ive had the pleasure of eating here a few times and each visit gets better and better. Their Kamayan feast is my go to dish. It includes garlic rice, grilled fish, squid, shrimp, mussels, pork sticks, eggplant, mango and orange slices. If going with a group, get a larger Kamayan feast and you wont be disappointed. Last order I did some add ons for extra shrimp and mussels but its not worth it for the price. You only get a few of each added to an already large order so just stick with the feast and youll walk away very satisfied. They have some outside seats for the summer weather and they do offer take out service as well. Great place and reasonable cost
