Had an absolutely incredible dining experience at Ten. The service truly went above and beyond, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, the attention to detail is outstanding, and the food of course was delicious!! We loved every single course and appreciated that every element on the plate was so intentional and added to the dish. Sitting at the chef's counter is such a unique experience, and an all vegetarian menu that highlights and elevates seasonal vegetables is difficult to do well, but Ten executes it perfectly with every dish. We had the wine pairing with our meal, and Sophie explained every wine with such knowledge. If you are wanting to add the wine pairing, I would highly recommend it! We are not usually wine lovers, but it was super fun to try so many different wines and see how they complimented each food course. We will definitely be returning the next time we visit Toront! Thank you for such a perfect birthday dinner. Will be recommending to everyone we know!!

What a wonderful experience. It was my first time here to this small ten seater restaurant as per the name. From start to finish we spent about 2.5 hours, because we had a lovely time talking to the other guests and to the chefs. Chef Julian has such a creative mind bringing vegetables to the forefront, and WOW, did each and every dish have so much flavour, I never thought vegetables could taste that good. Zel the assistant chef was so kind and passionate about the concept. The open concept kitchen allows you to see every dish being prepared. We opted in to the wine pairing, and the sommelier Rebecca truly was so knowledgable, each wine was so different from the last and paired well with each dish. Truly a lovely experience, with some of the most tasty vegetable forward food. Definitely worth the experience.

Ten out of ten for Ten Restaurant. I was a little worried about a fully vegetarian menu but once we received our first dish, I forgot what meat even is. Everything is local and seasonal and the team designs these dishes with lots of creativity. Would definitely love to return in another season to see what's in store. Staff and atmosphere are wonderful as well, wouldn't be surprised to see a star coming soon

Had the amazing experience of going to ten for my girlfriend’s birthday. We are able to book all 10 seats at the chefs counter for our group which made the experience very unique. Seeing the team work together to bring you the best dining experience is incredible to watch. The staff were very attentive (without being anywhere near overbearing) and even accommodated a last minute allergy that was not communicated to them in advance. The passion for food is easily seen through each dish which perfectly celebrates each ingredient and its season. Even though there was no meat or fish in our menu it was not missed. The lack of overly rich ingredients was a nice change from traditional fine dining which can be a bit gimmicky. The wine selection was excellent as well either through the wine pairing or by the glass/bottle. If I had to give one point of feedback it would be that the cocktails lacked compared to everything else. Though I think wine is really the focus here. Overall great experience, couldn’t recommend this place enough, especially to those who are a bit numb to Toronto’s fine dining scene. To staff at ten, please continue what you are doing to celebrate the great ingredients available to us and share your passion for food and dining.

I’m falling short of words to describe how mind-blowing and palate-pleasing the experience here was. This isn’t food. It’s art and you should come here if you appreciate the art of ingredient pairing. All flavours we tried were so unique. It was a vegetarian menu made with locally sourced seasonal ingredients from farms in Ontario (Niagara & green-belt) and Upper NY region. The restaurant is Michelin-guide featured and I hope it gets a Michelin-Star someday.

We tried out this vegan restaurant the other day, and it was quite an interesting experience. They serve a ten-course set menu, starting with a snack that really sets the mood. The thing I liked most was how they didn't try to mimic meat flavors but instead got creative with veggies to bring out some really delicious and balanced tastes. I mean, I'm usually someone who enjoys a bit of meat in my meals, and even though I left feeling pretty full, there was still this tiny craving for some meat at the end. But overall, it was a satisfying meal, and both me and my sister felt good about it, especially for our gut health lol. It's definitely worth checking out if you're into exploring different flavors and textures in vegan cuisine.

First time experiencing a vegetable-forward restaurant and it did not disappoint. They really do the vegetables justice and make them the star of each dish. Not once throughout this meal I wished for meat to be on the menu. The mushroom ice cream in particular was fantastic - I could have 10 bowls of just that and be content. Note that it may not be 100% vegetarian as one of our courses had a fish component. Will hopefully, and definitely, return another day when there’s a new tasting menu.

11/10!! Truly a one in a million kind of restaurant that lives very close to my heart. I ve been so lucky to dine twice at ten, each time taking home a totally unique experience. Every single item on the tasting menu, be it a vegetable or herb, has been seasonally built in the most thoughtful and creative ways imaginable. Two personal favourites include their Maitake mushroom dish (their signature) and a new seasonal dish with zucchini blossoms and corn (wow)! ten has some of the most impressive dishes I ve ever tasted and I cannot wait to go back for a third, fourth, fifth The talented back-of-house are complemented by the warm and highly-attentive front-of-house team. Their sommelier, Rebecca, has curated the perfect wine-pairing and menu that seamlessly integrates with the tastes/concepts on your plate. (Just a really cool side note that I haven t experienced before - the FOH were able to recognize my ambidextrous-eating-style-habits within moments of sitting down. Wild). Regardless if you re vegan, vegetarian, or a meat-eater, you ll be blown away by the thought, attention, and artistry that goes into every single aspect of ten. Thank you, ten <3

Hats off to Chef Julian, Rebecca the sommelier and their Team. Having being back here repeated times, the innovation and development of a complex flavour profile continues to be explemplary and I love coming here. -- I feel the 5 star rating is not sufficient enough to describe this restaurant - it was truly hands down the best meal experience weve had in our lives. We opted for the 10 course meal with the wine pairings. The level of thought and care placed into each dish was incredible - between the flavours and texture they really highlighted vegetables in a whole new way. - as vegetarians Ive always been apprehensive of going to fine dining because veggies are an afterthought, but Ten made every dish delicious, unique and complex in flavour - we loved and enjoyed every dish. The menu changes regularly to reflect whatever is in season. The wine sommelier was well versed and paired with wines across different regions and enhanced every dish we had - this extends out into the finer details such as the cutlery and dishes used for each round. You get to connect with the chefs and see them put together each meal, and this brings an elevated appreciation to the creativity and effort places into each meal. You have the option in advance to advise on dietary restrictions (vegetarian) or there are some fish/meat based components within the regular menu. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back undoubtedly. Thank you for making us fall back in love with the restaurant experience.

Julian and his team provided my girlfriend and I with an amazing experience for our sitting. Thoroughly impressed with the plant forward theme. Loved how creative these dishes were and would definitely recommend. Was happy to see the menu we had slightly differentiated from the items shown by other diners as well but good to see the ones I loved were staples on their menu.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Even though it s suppose to be 10 courses. They provide a bit extra. My fav is their goat cheese (outside of the 10 courses) following with the broth. Perfect combination with the after taste of the goat cheese. Love how it melts inside of my mouth. My second favourite is the ravioli with the sunflower seed. Very creative taste combo with strong taste of the sunflower seed. Nevertheless, I do not enjoy the later courses, especially the mushroom. The sauces were soooo strong to the point any ingredient inside would taste the same regalardes if it s mushroom or anything else. I much prefer the ingredient with its own flavour. The cocktail here were not recommended. Maybe wine is a better choice.

The food was incredible. With just ten seats at the table our experience was intimate and the attention to detail in terms of service as well as preparation was outstanding. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and went with the wine pairings along with the regular tasting menu. While the cost of ~$600 for 2 for a 10 course meal with 7-8 wines is steep, our overall experience was quite pleasant. We were the last to leave and thus had the opportunity to chat with chef Julian for a little while before closing. It was remarkable to see his passion for food and hospitality. The experience was unlike any other restaurant. If you decide to visit, come with an open mind and an adventurous palette because the food will positively blow your mins. Ravioli was to die for.

I ll start by saying that when I dine anywhere I love to check the lowest rated reviews first. I ll address those reviews by saying this, most of the reviews said the price was too much or that they left hungry. That s absolutely hilarious to me because if you took the time to see where you were going to eat you d know it was a tasting menu AND that it s an elevated experience. We live in a world where we want abundance and at the cheapest price available. But that s not what should be expected. We should be open to new experiences if we re lucky enough to be able to comfortably afford them. I can confidently say that the portions were perfect, I was FULL by the end of the meal. As well, the price, which was about $210 per person is a lot of money of course BUT the value for what you receive is totally worth it. You come to a place like this for the experience and I ll say the experience I got was incredible. It was a ten course tasting menu but I actually got 11 courses. The very first item, they don t consider a course. So what a happy surprise! The staff were incredibly nice and attentive. Each dish was carefully explained. And providing the menu at the end was a great touch. I am thoroughly happy with what I got here. It was truly an incredible experience. Who would I recommend this restaurant to? I would say anyone that isn t a picky eater, who wants to expand their palette and wants to have a totally unique and elevated dining experience. This restaurant is vegetable forward, meaning the focus isn t on meat. My dishes were mostly vegetables with the occasional seafood. It really opens your mind up to what s possible with cooking and the amount of new vegetables I ve never tried. I can genuinely say that every bad review left for this restaurant is completely wrong. Nothing short of 5 stars for this establishment. Totally in love with the experience I had and will definitely return someday. I wish I had better photos to share but that s all I could capture. The atmosphere is very chill and dimmed lighting. The entire dining experience was an incredible 2 hours and 20 minutes. I had a great experience. Come here if you want to take your time trying flavours you ve never experienced. Put your phone down and really taste every bite.

Incognito restaurant front with a very unique dining experience. Elevated vegetarian dishes that are very smart. No two dishes have the same side/main flavor combinations, and all flowed very cohesively. The staff was fantastic. Very attentive. Thank you for having us at your table. The chef was great and came by for a hello before we left. Kudos for the creative menu ideas and not recycling ingredients over and over again on different plates. Vegetarian food is elevated to the next level. You are amazingly creative, and I really appreciate the thought and dining experience. Keep up the great work !!! Definitely, the chef was not afraid to create with a different mindset. Example apple potatoe ( ie pomme de terre is potatoe has apple in the word in French .... soo creative!!!!) Comment on this dish ... the apple was poached or soaked/baked in brine,I was not a fan because personally, I do not think something that has flavors or is fresh or delicious needs much salt and this was overly salty -- but I have at the same time never tasted something created this way..so smart!!!!! -- hot balanced with cold potato skin ice cream ( also a 1st for me) . Ice cream was great!!! Another ice cream mention is the Porchini Mushroom ice cream. Who thinks of this!! I have never had Mushroom ice cream before. So amazing. Common denominator was the tie in or unami flavors by seaweed or mushrooms (I get it...) very smart infusions of an acidic kick of citrus components but not sharp enough to over power. Well done!! Will come back again to try a new menu. Hopefully, they are not afraid to flow through dishes that are stars vs. reinventing the menus the entire time with less appealing dishes.

An incredibly intimate culinary experience personally curated and narrated by Chef Julian. Ive been twice with my girlfriend and each time we are blown away by the thought, ingenuity, and care that goes into making every dish. Weve been turned away from other upscale restaurants for our dietary restrictions (dairy-free and gluten-free) but Chef Julian has always welcomed us to his restaurant. His sous-chef even went above and beyond on a dish to make sure we could enjoy it. The entire staff is so incredibly friendly, the decor is wonderful, and the ambience (read: music playlist) slaps. This restaurant also supports local growers. I could not recommend ten enough. Dietary restrictions: Incredibly accommodating to your dietary needs - just email and ask nicely!

Going to a restaurant like this, I expect it to deliver a great experience in terms of food, service, ambiance, people ... and most importantly leave a lasting and outstanding memory and no regrets. Ten and everyone who works there did exactly that. We (4) walked out completely happy and had a great evening with great food. Do yourself a favor and spend 3 minutes reading the informative (and simple) web page. It tells you exactly what to expect and then Julian and his crew deliver - and their execution is fabulous. One extra note: I sometimes regret the expense of wine pairings at expensive restaurants. Not here. The delicate food flavors call for interesting wines that are excellent while not trying to steal the show away from the food ... the sommelier (Rebecca) nailed it with a sensitive and creative European selection - all while being a great host and fun conversation partner. Enjoy!

I have never, ever had a dining experience like this. It was unbelievable. The space is set up so there s a small room in the front, and a dining area in the back that seats 10 people around a counter where the food is plated. Our coats were taken and hung up so there was no clutter or difficulty getting around. And from what I recall, the space was very accessible there was a ramp in the space to get from the front room to the dining area, and the super spacious washroom was on the ground floor. The staff were friendly and accommodating from the moment we walked in the door. They described each of the dishes to us in detail and were careful to adjust each course for a vegetarian diet. Standouts from the food included a glazed celery root dish that made me audibly gasp due to its deliciousness; a beet and lime tart that tasted like an earthy, custardy delight; and a porcini mushroom ice cream I don t even like mushrooms, but this was truly stunning. We had a beautiful evening and a really special meal. Highly recommend.

I have had some really good dining experiences and this has to be one among them, being a vegetarian and very passionate about food, I was very excited and thrilled to be able to grab a same day reservation. Though the location is not the best but I was bowled as soon as I entered in, beautiful ambiance, very subtle decor and top notch service, all 11/10. The wine selection was fabulous and so were the presentation of each dish. The only feedback I have is the Taste. The farm to table concept was very well crafted, each dish was creative but there were more then half the dishes that lacked taste and depth, it lacked that factor which would want you to score each dish a 10/10. I understand that winter harvest can be challenging to work with, I will definitely give this another try for spring/summer hoping that it changes my opinion

Ever since I realized that the Grammy s was a popularity contest with little correlation to true talent, I have had a distrust of those awarding accolades. As a certain guide swept through Toronto awarding stars, there were some questionable choices made, and more importantly some damn fine restaurants that were snubbed like Actinolite. As Otaku, we revel in glories of the unsung hero. Ten is one such unsung hero. Ten is the brainchild of a creative, 29 year old chef, Julian Bentivegna, opened just months before the COVID shutdown, in the Brockton Village neighborhood of Toronto. Chef Bentivegna introduced himself almost immediately upon sitting at the counter, eager to share his restaurant s ethos: veg centric, seasonal cuisine presented in ten courses. This, of course is exactly why we chose to dine at Ten, so he was covering well-trodden ground. What was not so well-trod was his treatment of the vegetal divas. In our experience, most fine dining restaurants that are (or have turned) veg-centric treat their ingredients in either the traditional Japanese manner minimalism highlighting natural flavors, or in the other extreme the traditional Indian manner an exciting masala of flavors creating a synergistic whole, losing the individual parts. I do not mean actual Japanese/Indian flavors, just styles of preparation. If I had to catergorize Chef Bentivegna s style it would be right in the middle of these two styles the traditional French manner. Here, the flavor of the vegetable was paramount, but paired with some strong flavors which highlighted as opposed to upstaging the star. A perfect example would be his first course of winter radishes sliced into a fine julienne served over a pine nut sauce, and spiked with bay leaf oil. The pairing of flavors was sublime, and required in the chef a deft palate to balance. For Sadako, it was the little details. As a preliminary desert course, porcini ice cream was served textured with toasted rice, and salted with caviar (another sublime pairing of flavors) served in a chilled, wooden, sakura-shaped bowl, and crafted to resemble a buckeye. It is the details like chilling the plates for cold dishes, and warming the plates for hot dishes that is so often overlooked. While portions were small the flavors were large, and we left sated. Maitake were treated in the Cajun manner where a mushroom stock was reduced and deglazed several times over to create a sweet, intensely flavored mushroom paired with simply flavored cashews and red kale. One of the rare fish dishes, featuring a hamachi crudo with red cabbage was flavored with chewy, umami salty bits which I later found out to be chef s own delicious hamachi XO sauce. There was intention and effort clearly present in every dish. Over the course of ten courses, chef Bentivegna presented us ten diners with an inspired cuisine on par with the finest dishes the City of Toronto has to offer; an experience highly recommended by the Otaku, of course. I had the best birthday dinner here last night! Every dish was so unique but my favourite was the white chocolate peas! Its a rare thing to dine at a restaurant which has earned a place on the Michelin Recommended List, so this experience - complete with wine pairing - was easily the most perfect meal Ive had in Toronto for some time. We savoured not only the unique tastes of everything thoughtfully prepared in front of us, but how each of the ten small courses were served, the overall minimal ambience and selection of music, and the calm manner of the sommeliers description of her choices, which took us all over Europe. There arent enough superlatives for this outstanding meal. Thank you, Ten. We will be back!

Incredible vegetable forward meal! This was one of my first times trying a solely vegetarian fine dining menu and it was delicious! The chef was super kind to make some dairy-free alterations for me and everything was perfect. The staff were all friendly, the food was all cooked and served to perfection. You could tell that the chef was passionate about the food, which seeped through each course! I loved that everything was seasonal, and spoke well to the concept of the restaurant. Restaurant was clean, chic and lovely. Loved that the washroom was on the same floor- a rare site in Toronto. Sadly, I couldn t drink any alcohol tonight but my partner had an amazing cocktail! I came with my girlfriend for her special birthday and Ten did not disappoint. The food, service, wine, ambience, chef Julian, and entire staff made the evening an unforgettable experience. We had wine pairings with our ten course dinner. My gf is vegan so some of her plates were different, but for the most part, we both had the same dishes, and each was a wonderful surprise of flavours. And that they were vegetarian is even more impressive. Ten is unpretentious, luxurious, and not in the least bit elitist. It was great to see such a calm kitchen -- a small staff which included women and people of colour. In addition to the food, these were significant factors to our enjoyment of the evening. If youre looking for the same, then book a night here. Its definitely worth it.

This is a restaurant on a global level. Vegetable forward but not boxed in on a concept, chef takes very approachable items like mushrooms, squash, rutabaga and transforms them into unimaginably deep and complex dishes - most importantly they are delicious plates! The venue is intimate but very chill and great for couples or small groups. The service is top notch and if you like any form of beverage they have it. The sommelier curates a small but amazing list and the pairing to the dinner are beyond worth it as the wines and food pair seamlessly while, much like the cuisine, are so unique you feel like youre the first person on earth to try these things. Its Michelin recommended but personally KNOW this is better than many starred restaurants and is actually value for money in this realm.

Love the food but feeling LET DOWN when we were trying to celebrate our OVERDUE anniversary at Ten but they FAILED to provide any recognition of our anniversary despite letting them know during booking AND speaking with them IN PERSON (after the dinner) This is the first time EVER that the restaurant with this kind of rating ignore the importance of ANNIVERSARIES! If you don t have the time and don t care, just PLEASE OMIT the question of special occasion if you don t EVEN CARE TO READ and RESPONSE ! Oh what upset me the MOST is when you see that they are willing to light a candle and say happy birthday to a customer/ friend who just WALKED right in after 11:30pm, but not to us - who paid for the entire meal plus the HST and the 18% service fee Happy New Year guys!

Wonderful plant forward (but not vegetarian!) menu accompanied by a truly unique, intimate dining experience. Gorgeous small restaurant that seats only 10 at a time. You can watch two chefs prepare everything in front of you. They do some spectacular things with vegetables that really elevate them beyond what you might expect from pickled morels to caramelized celeriac root to utilizing a super flavourful vegetable jus for their lamb saddle that is as rich as any typical jus. Everything was beautifully plated, light, and really a delight to try. You can see where they derive their influences from based on the conspicuously propped up cookbook by Jeremy Fox in the corner. This is the proper way to elevate and honour vegetables that doesn t feel at all forced or pretentious (cough EMP cough). We just had a few glasses of wine instead of a bottle or pairing since we had some work to do in the evening and they were delightful if not spectacular. The service is impeccable- incredibly friendly and accommodating. Probably one of the best dining experiences I ve had in the city and truly this place deserves more recognition. A spectacular dining experience, perhaps the best I ve had in Toronto to date. My partner and I shared our anniversary dinner there and we are so glad we did. The team is small but mighty and welcomed us with open arms and warmth. When they learned it was our anniversary dinner they were kind enough to give us a little surprise and the whole team wished us a happy anniversary at some point during the evening. The food was outstanding and the tasting menu was even adapted to my vegan diet (my partner was able to eat the normal menu). Absolutely delicious from start to finish. We also did the wine pairing and the choices were fantastic, a great balance among the wines offered and beautiful pairings with the menu. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable even though this is definitely a high-end dining experience. Chef Julian offered a lot of details on the dishes and products he worked with to build the menu and you could feel the passion. And all of that is made even more wonderful by the sustainable and ethical ethos of this restaurant. Overall an absolute delight and we would come back in a heartbeat (in fact, we look forward to trying their winter menu!) We dined at Ten in July 2022 and had a fantastic experience. We were the earliest reservation of the evening so we had an opportunity to see the space fill up over the night. We really enjoyed the chef s counter and being able to watch the prep for the dishes - it was fun trying to guess what we were getting as it was plated. One stand out dish (pictured) was the peas and white chocolate. Such a unique combo and we could have had many servings of this! We opted to get the wine pairings and loved nearly every selection. There were some less traditional pairings so might not be for everyone, but they were great for our tastes. I am gluten free and they easily accommodated my dietary restriction with minimal substitutions to the existing menu so I did not feel I was missing out (as is the case at some restaurants). Came to Ten at the recommendation of a friend who enjoys tasting menus. Ive been to several tasting menus before. Going into this I understood that this would be vegetable forward so I kept my expectations in check as I am an avid meat lover, bbqer and enjoy rich flavours but am also a gardener. Service was excellent and the chef was very friendly and answered my questions. You could tell that he is very involved in the selection of ingredients and is really pushing for local vegetables to shine in the dishes. I dont think much seasoning/spices was used because most of the flavours would come from the vegetables. Theres a fine line between having as much natural taste and one modified with just the right amount of seasoning that we are all so used to having. These limitations caused some dishes to be challenging for me but may be appreciated by others. Here are my main comments for each dish based on my experience. My final comments for each dish will simply be taste testing worthy, take it off, modify it . 1. Tomato/Hyssop/Melon -good acidity to whet the appetite. Hyssop sauce provides a unique mint profile to the dish. Taste testing worthy 2. Cabbage/tuna sashimi/coriander flowers - cant go wrong with charred cabbage and some protein to balance it off. Cold pressed sunflower oil offers a nutty flavor to meld it together. Taste testing worthy 3. Corn- cream of corn without the cream topped with corn pulp cracker, some chicken skin. Taste testing worthy 4. Acorn Squash varietal/sunchoke/garlic oil- Naturally sweet squash does most of the work while the sunchoke (taste like artichoke) and garlic oil add another element to the dish. Taste testing worthy 5. Gnocchi cheese/onion/wheat chips? - chef said it would taste like french onion soup and it did. The cheese gnocchi had a neutral flavor and to me it was just caramelized onions that did all the work. Honestly, I would have preferred just a regular bowl of old fashion french onion soup. Probably didnt help that I ate Gnocchi just recently...Take it off 6. Sourdough bread-Keep it on the menu ,give 2 slices?. 7. Zucchini yellow and green-combination of rolling up sliced yellow and green zucchini smoked with apple wood and I think tomato/tuna fat emulsion? The dish smelled great from the apple wood but the taste/seasoning was lacking. Ive slow charcoal grilled olive oiled zucchinis several times and dont think this dish really elevates the taste that much more. I would say its a limitation of Zucchini in general. Taste fine but dont think it should be on a tasting menu. While it is a seasonable vegetable, its just too common. I think this slot can be used for a more unique ingredient that can be grown. Take it off 8. Mushroom/ Red Kale/Buckwheat crunch-I think the chef said that they had a repeated process of deg-lazing the mushroom until they could get as much natural flavor from it as possible. I think it was still lacking in umami/a limitation of the mushroom itself. Its a nice attempt but I think mushroom needs some more assistance from another ingredient(maybe a pepper paste with a slight kick to it). Take it off/modify it 9. Panna cotta concord grapes peanut- smoothness from the panna cotta, crunch from the peanuts. Classic P&J flavor profile. Taste testing worthy 10. Beet lime tart with almond base - I was hoping to see the Beet shine since but the lime/lemon completely took over. It tastes like a lemon square which I do enjoy eating. Apples should shine during the month of September. Take it off/modify it with focus on the Beet flavor. I think a corn shaped corn flavoured ice cream topped with spices could fit the theme.

Was super excited to try this restaurant since it opened. Food is great and super unique. The 3 star review is for the quantity per price point. It s suppose to be a ten course meal but one of the courses was a slice of bread? When I m paying $200 per person I really expect more than this. Additionally the portions are tiny 9/10 are just vegetables. Would it really kill them to add a bit of extra food? We ended up grabbing burgers after since we were still hungry. I ve done a lot of tasting menus but usually leave satiate . Between the portion sizes and the bread as a course it just felt like they were cheaping out.

After booking a table just before lockdown, we finally had a chance to make good on our reservation and visit (which the team enthusiastically accommodated). It was worth the wait. Julian, Simon, and Michael took great care of us. In addition to the fantastic hospitality, we had a great time being surprised by each beautiful and perfectly prepared dish. They were all excellent, though its easy to figure out what the standouts are when every table asks the same how did you make this??? question (the watermelon). I for one, want to know their duck technique. And its probably better that I dont know how to make that bread. Vegetable forward enough to please my 80% vegetarian gf, with enough mix to satisfy more carnivorous cravings. But theyll happily accomodate accordingly. The most unexpected thing was the wine list full of unusual options and locales, which we explored and enjoyed. Definitely a great place for an intimate, special occasion meal, to share an experience over. And theres plenty of great places nearby to stop by after to keep it going.

Ten is such a special restaurant to have in the neighbourhood: thoughtful seasonal dishes, vegetarian friendly, amazing natural wine selection and pairings, and really great friendly service. A must try (and repeat!) for food and plant lovers.

We visited Ten last summer and were stunned by the delicate flavours and mind-blowing harmony of ingredients. I still think about that dish with white chocolate and peas regularly. Amazing place doing amazing things for the community who deserve all the kudos. Glad theyre taking steps to support their staff as well! Cant wait to visit again!

Such care, respect, and imagination goes into every dish and beverage that is presented. Service is impeccable, while still warm and welcoming. That the owners are socially conscious and helpful to the local community makes this place a real diamond in Torontos dining scene.

Ten is precious. I had the chance to visit Toronto in early March, and Ten was a pleasant highlight of my trip. First things first, you can expect a thoughtful, delicate menu that is inventive but also pleasantly balanced. Can t comment on what you might taste through different seasons, but I was generally very happy with how creative they could get with late winter local produce. Secondly, the wine pairings are so worthy. Sommelier Jen is not only knowledgeable but makes you feel quite comfortable and excited to try her selections. Finally, this is the work of talented young people that not only show promise but already deliver it, at a very reasonable price. The vibe at the restaurant is laidback, and the staff is very present and attentive. Look forward to eat again at Ten and see it grow over time.

Ive been to TEN twice, and both times have been wonderful. My first time I had the 5-course option, which was wonderfully crafted and presented by chefs Julian and Simon. The dishes combine ingredients I never thought would go together, but turn out to be amazing! For my second visit to TEN, I had the 10-courses; again, the veggie-forward dishes were unique and fantastic. My partner chose the wine-pairing option, which made the experience even better, since the sommelier, Jen, is super friendly and knowledgeable. If youre looking for something new in Toronto, either for a special occasion or a simply meeting a friend for dinner and drinks, TEN restaurant is the place to go.

My partner and I had an absolutely unreal experience at Ten. Truly one of my best dining experiences, and loved getting to taste such beautiful ingredients prepared so thoughtfully.

Chef Julian and the team at Ten take the personal dining experience to a whole new level, complete with the perfect wine pairings throughout the meal. As a vegetarian with a restricted diet, the team truly impressed me with modified dishes that were delicious and innovative. My experience was pre-COVID and now that they have resumed dining I can t wait to go back. I love trying new flavour combinations and appreciated the thought that went into their menu. The dishes are well-portioned, palette-pleasing and creative without being overly complicated. It was a very refreshing change from your average restaurant.

It was a great night and food/wine experience. Awesome service as well. You can tell that chef Julian and the team put a lot of thoughts on creating the dishes and the tasting menu. Wine pairings complement all dishes and pushes some of them to next level. Our favorite dishes were sunchoke grape, tomato melon dill, duck peaches and blueberry corn butter milk. The special marsala and Spring salmon pairing was unique. Overall very satisfied and will follow the team.

The good: The space is beautiful. The chef, sous-chef, sommelier and hostess were all very welcoming, personable and attentive. Each course was perfectly prepared and beautiful, if a little bit precious for me ie tweezer plating. The not as good: The place is advertised as seafood and veg FORWARD, but our meals were completely vegetarian. In a 10 course tasting menu I would expect 2 or 3 plates to contain some seafood or meat -- scallops, fish, maybe some Ontario spring lamb, duck or beef. Given the above, the price is super high at $115 per person (not including drinks, tax or tip) for 10 small, light vegetable dishes. (You would walk away very hungry if you had the 5 course meal)

We had the 10 course tasting menu and it was the most lovely dinner. It was a very intimate setting with just 12 seats and the opportunity to watch the chefs at work. Each dish was so thoughtful and the wine pairings equally so. Their ability to showcase the ingredients was really impressive and kept us eager to see what dish was next. You can really tell everyone is very passionate about their work through the amazing experience you get. We will most certainly be back!

Meat is easy to cook and have it taste good. Dishes with local seasonal vegetables as the central act? Definitely harder! They do not sell themselves as a vegetarian only restaurant and in fact theres definitely use of dairy and fish in some dishes. But these guys take on the challenge and put you through a culinary journey that shows off their inventive talent and impeccable palate! Be prepared for the best snow peas youll ever eat...I kid you not!

An unforgettable evening. Great concept, well executed. The omnivore in me didn t miss the absence of meat, thanks to incredible talent and skill in preparing the veg-forward menu. The one fish dish a BC black cod was excellent. Other standouts were thanks to imaginative creations like the pea and white chocolate dish and the date and thyme ice cream. But every course from top to bottom was a winner. Can t wait to go back and to watch these talented chefs continue to evolve and iterate!

While visiting Toronto this past weekend I looked up restaurants in the city that specifically had tasting menus, and Ten caught my eye, especially with its heavy vegetable focused menu. The restaurant was very nice, with a laid back feeling, and a warm friendly vibe. The service had great timing, you never felt rushed to finish your plate, but at the same time you werent sitting around wondering when your next dish was going to come. It was also very pleasant to have both chefs take the time and explain the dishes and the thought process behind creating them, which very few fine dining restaurants do. After finding out that Chef Julian had previously spent time working with Chef Curtis Duffy at Grace, I can see the influence he gained in developing flavors from very simple ingredients, and the attention to detail that is instilled in a young chef working at a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Toronto has a hidden gem of a restaurant with this talented young chef.

This was one of our best restaurant experiences in Toronto so far this year. The super young chef is an alum of Alo and the now defunct but Michelin-starred restaurant Grace in Chicago. There was a tight team of 4 manning the restaurant including the chef - all were super friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Everyone was personable in describing their relationships with local producers and suppliers - the chef of course especially. The menu rotates depending on what s in season, and is very veggie focused; but, if you re a heavier meat eater, you don t find yourself missing more meat courses. The space is not too large - ten seats, explaining the name. The back is a bit dark, but there is a beautifully lit section out front for drinks or waiting where you can take better lit pictures. The food itself was subtle but nuanced in its flavours - everything made sense. And, oh my goodness the sourdough was so good. The dishes were presented so beautifully. The portions appeared small, but we left completely full. In comparison to Alo - for the price and ease of getting a reservation, I would choose Ten hands down.

Although hard to find from the outside, ten was undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, meal I have ever had. I was surprised with this restaurant for my birthday and did not research into the dinner experience until after the meal had finished. Serving only ten customers, at a time, these two chefs created ten beautiful and surreal dishes - 8 mains and two desserts. The dishes were vegetarian and plant focused - however we were given one meat dish to satisfy our cravings. The experience was food focused, but the chefs and staff made sure to tailor and personalize the experience to two two of us- an effort that did not go unnoticed. The two chefs were friendly, inviting and made every effort to explain the plates as they were presented to me and my dad - in timed unison - for all ten dishes. I dont want to spoil the amazing menu as there is much to be said about being surprised with each new dish. The beer and wine selection was wonderful, and the atmosphere reminded me of a high end sushi bar- quiet, personal, and food-centred. It is not often that a dish genuinely makes me smile - but when the plates started rolling I was gleaming. A destination restaurant that deserves ts ranking. The price is well worth the food and experience, and I am excited to see what these guys can create in the future. See you next year for another birthday celebration.

Genius? Yes! Chef Julian and his team are wonderful, welcoming, humble and progressive! We enjoyed the the 10 course fine dining tasting menu with wine pairings. We had a lot of fun and will never forget our shock when one of the plates came out. What looked like a simple plate of toast and butter (um yes) turned out to be a tastebud thriller and we could not stop laughing and enjoying the delicious homemade bread and carrot butter... UNFORGETTABLE! Wish I could give six stars.
