It’s all for the love of fried chicken! We are a husband and wife team with a serious passion for fried chicken and all things spicy. We believe that high quality ingredients, generous portions, and good ol’ hospitality are key to a perfect casual joint. This isn’t a carbon copy of another fried chicken restaurant in Nashville. We do our own thing, our own way, with a lot of heart. All of our spice blends are made in-house; even our Carolina Reapers and Ghost Peppers are blended by hand to ensure we are using the purest and hottest peppers possible! All our chickens are brought in from a local Ontario farm, are grain-fed, free-run, never receive any hormones or steroids, and are 100% halal.
Finally made it here. Got the og chicken sando (medium) with Cajun waffle fries. The chicken had a good kick to it (their medium would be a hot elsewhere) and sandwich was good. Overall food was good but not sure worth the trek to
2024 October 4★ 3 year consecutive Michelin rated since 2023 (23, 24, 25). Can certainly say it's good, though have had some definite contenders just as good. The OG Sando combo $19.50 Large Cajun Waffle Fries The sandwich with their signature sauces and spices along with a slaw and pickles inside. Pretty good. The waffle fries were great. 4 Pieces Plain $22.00 Pieces of chicken are huge. Spices and sauce just as good. Juicy and tender. Though the chicken without the spices/sauce wasn't very flavorful. Overall, prices are reasonable. Definitely worth checking out.
The food was pretty good and service was friendly. We got the OG sandwich and the sweet heat sandwich with a large order of Cajun waffle fries. The sweet heat sandwich was tangy and the chicken was juicy and tender but could have used a bit of more crispiness. My friend got the OG sandwich at the "Hot" level but said it wasn't hot enough for him. The Cajun waffle fries were good the seasoning was perfect on them. Improvement suggestions: I feel like the store could use an upgrade in terms of decor and cleanliness and organization. It also took quite some time to get our order even though they weren't too busy. The sandwiches and fries weren't as hot as they could have been given they were made fresh to order.
The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had! I got the OG Sando on brioche. The chicken was moist, and perfectly battered and fried with a delicious mix of spices. The toppings of pickles and coleslaw completed the perfect sandwich. I cannot wait to go back!
Amazing chicken Sandwich. One of the first recommended places I'm trying for fried chicken and deserved place as one of the best in Toronto. Had the OG sandwich with brioche bun and the waffle fries. The Chica's sauce (buttermilk ranch) is a must have (included with fries, extra for the sandwich). Will come again.
Before a trip to Toronto with some friends I Googled "best fried chicken in Toronto" and Chicas was the first one that came up, and it delivered! We were blown away by how juicy, rich, and flavourful every bite was. I got the hot honey sandwich, and it truly was the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Worth the journey, 6/5, plan on coming back every visit!
A Michelin recommended fried chicken! Great staff and quick service. As for food I would say it's a thing that might vary from day to day but it was delicious although I think my two pieces were overcoated giving some parts of it a dusty feel , chicken was cooked perfectly and hence still giving the credit. The Buffalo sandwich was fairly delicious as well although I would have loved to see more slaw on their. As for conclusion, I'd sure go back to re test my theories and would take friend to test
I heard this place was amazing and it was good but I think under delivered slightly. The service and vibe in the restaurant was really good but the sandwich itself, I’ve had better. The Cajun waffle fries were good but had a bit to much seasoning I think. Would I come back here, yeah sure. Would I tell all my friends to come, maybe not.
Overall the food wasnt very good. If you dont do well with spice make sure you get the original chicken, even the mild is HOTTT!! my son, who loves spice even said the mild was tooo spicy! The flavour wasnt very good, and after a couple bites it was almost inedible. The Cajun fries were okay, but for me they had wayyy too much salty seasoning. I also felt the price is a little steep
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and a gem. Highly recommend and give these wonderful folk a chance
Very rude customer service.
I ve been dreaming about this place ever since I went (only yesterday). The fried chicken was spicy and so extremely juicy. The waffle fries were fantastic too. Definitely coming back!
Its good but Id rather go to THG in scarborough.
What happened here? The chicken was overly salty and lacked flavor. It wasn t crispy at all. I spent over $110, and it just didn t live up to expectations. I can t comment on the service since I placed a to-go order.
the original sando is truly something special. blown away at how juicy and flavourful the chicken was. the staff was really warm and welcoming, def coming back here soon!!!!
This spot has definitely gone downhill. I haven t been in years but used to frequent them pre pandemic. I tried to order a 3 piece meal and was told the wait would be really long, so I went with the chicken bites instead. I asked for mild/medium which is listed on their menu as a bit hot and what I received was something closer to the temperature of the surface of the sun. I couldn t actually finish eating it, a first for me. On top of that half the box was full of loose burnt breading which was an extremely unpleasant experience. Someone needs to inject a little care and attention into the general operation of this place. The building itself seems to be falling apart, plenty of unfinished drywalling in the dining area to look at while you wait.
The chicken pieces were perfectly cooked and incredibly crispy. The Nashville spicy topping added a bold kick! It was very spicy but absolutely delicious, especially when paired with the chica sauce and bread. The employees were polite and recommended a combo deal instead of purchasing items separately. Newly opened in Whitby, this spot is a must-visit!
Dope fried chicken. You cant miss. Cajun waffle fries are also great.
Hot and fresh but I like my chicken preseason and not seasoned after but that s a personal preference doesn t take away from the fresh food
Pretty good all things considered. Had the classic sandwich and chicken bites with a ranch sauce. All very good but the waffle fries were very disappointing. A solid spot.
Some of the best chicken sandwiches in the city. The Cajun waffle fries were great and came in huge portions.
10/10 food, 10/10 seevice, great prices. The staff are all very nice and very good at their jobs. Best chicken spot in toronto hands down.
Loved the sandwich! I know why they got Michelin star trice in a row .. Must visit to try it I personally didn t like the Waffle fries; felt like they were fried twice Food : 5/5
The OG is the way to go.
Ordered og hot sando and jalapeño popper sando with cajun waffle fries Everything was delicious not very hot They serve halal chicken from sargent farms but its not certified (I confirmed it) Highly recommend it
Really pleased with the overall experience. Great food, decent price.
Fried chicken wings were great :)
Kid-friendliness: Relaxed atmosphere, great food Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp present and helpful staff! Food : 5/5 |
What can i say....they were once the GOAT. Now not so much. Ive eaten there at least 15 times. Prices went up and portions went down. Shrinkflation is real. Cant see myself going back.
Some of the best fried chicken in the city. Fair warning, though, their medium spice is deadly. I was sweating buckets.
Good chicken but order in advance, it takes 30 minutes for 2 pieces of chicken
The staff was super nice and patient, the atmosphere was great and the food was the best!! Definitely gonna come back to try the rest of the menu items!!
Canteen style service with incredibly friendly staff. They ran out of the bone in chicken we were dining in so we got the wings (full size!). The wings are HOT, and we got medium! I would skip the Buffalo and Sweet Heat sandwiches because I think the bone in is where its at!! The Cajun waffle fries are soooo good, crispy, soft in the middle, and powdery flavoured! Im definitely coming back to try the chicken pieces!
We got the OG sandwich and Cajun waffle fries. The chicken was amazing. Would recommend it on the bun over toast. The Cajun fries were very sweet so I would recommend regular over Cajun! Tasted more like all dressed than Cajun. Parking: Green P parking
Dont be put off by the location or ambiance...the chicken is fire!!! Lovely people behind the counter and the chicken deserves all the praise and awards it gets. Dont sleep on the deep fried pickles either!!
Must have been an off day, for about 25min food wasn t coming out. I came in solo, but there were about 8 of us waiting. A couple orders came out for pick up, but not for the people waiting inside. Then at about 30min of waiting they started bringing out everyone s food. Tasted good, relatively simple. Hard to recommend if it comes with the long wait
Can t get enough of this place. OG Chicken Sando on brioche with an order of cajun waffle fries and thank me later!
Best fried chicken in canada
Great chicken, quite flavorful. I didn t find it too hot as I expected to be. Although some might find the prices to be a bit high when compared to other big chain fried chicken places this is so worth it .
Amazing fried chicken sandwiches
Seriously the best fried chicken Ive ever had. Service was prompt, courteous, and accommodating for young kids. Will definitely be back. Word of warning; when they say hot they mean hot. If youre normally a medium heat kind of person go mild here. Hopefully they can finish up their basement/bathroom renovation soon.
The sweet heat bites were awesome great spice, flavour and crispy 5/5. The OG sando had good flavours, but was very salty and they left the tendon/cartilage in the meat which was pretty unpleasant for a sandwich 3/5. Food : 4/5
Hit or miss. When its good its really good. When its bad, its Fried in old stale oil and dunked in a pound of their hot AF spice (even if you ordered medium).
Rich, comforting, wholesome food. Had the OG chicken sandwich and waffle fries to dine-in, and their wings to go. Cant wait to try them when I get hungry again, which, thanks to the sandwich, itll be a while. Food : 5/5 |
Worth the 45 minute drive downtown for their hot honey sando with large waffle fries. The sando combo would take 15-20 minutes and was worth the every minute of the wait time. Chicken was super crispy on the outside, moist and delicious in the inside. Shout out to Lucas and Jasaye for making sure we were taken care of on our first visit. We will definitely be coming back
First time trying chica s chicken on dundas, i ve only heard AMAZING things about the quality of taste & service ! This chicken will have you craving its strong & addictive taste & will have you coming back for more everytime ! I Highly recommend you try this spot out if you re around the area and don t know what to eat for lunch/dinner !
My go-to Chicken Burger in Toronto. Unbelievable seasoning
Love the OG sandwich!!!
Went there on a weekday afternoon; the place was almost empty so no wait times. I ordered the OG Sando (no fries). Im Mexican so when they asked me how hot I wanted my food, I said as hot as possible. The staff smiled at the playful comment and they actually prepared me a very hot, juicy and flavorful chicken sandwich. It was so good and very, very spicy. Of course, if you cant handle the spice, you can ask for it to be not spicy at all. Would come here again.
Overhyped
Crispy and uniquely spicy fried chicken. Just running with juice as they make everything to order. The sandwich is hard to beat.
Best Chicken Sandwich in the City
Great chicken sandwich joint that offers a unique and tasty experience.
Best chicken sandwiches. Chicken bites were great as well.
My favourite fried chicken place in the city. I think it s the best I ve had anywhere in Canada so far too. Highly recommend their Nashville fried chicken. Their burgers are great. Waffle cut fries are to die for with their dips.
Ordered sweet heat chicken poppers for take out. The chicken has a nice thin crispy batter and grab sauce was a perfect mix of sweet and heat. Will definitely come back!
AND Sando
Very salty, doesnt taste gd at all, if you want some salt, you could just buy from supermarkets
Great Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Eating was very messy but the best Chicken Sandwich Ive ever eaten.
Tasty
The chicken was well cooked. Nice spot. I do wish there was a bit more flavor in the sauce. The hot honey sandwich flavor was good but not enough
Best fried chicken in GTA!! Juicy and spicy!! I come from Aurora to dt every month just for the chicken. Highly recommended
The OG Sando was the best Nashville chicken sandwich Ive ever had. The flavours were delicious. The seasoning was perfect. I like the retro diner vibe that the restaurant has.
Great fried chicken sandwiches edit: i used to love eating here but lately the food has been getting worse and is now kinda just middling. the service and atmosphere are alright but they definitely have some pains with their popularity. the prices are simply not worth it anymore since the quality doesnt meet what they used to deliver
I really wanted to like this. Its had such great reviews and people pumping it so hard on social media. But after getting to the end of the meal (I couldnt make it to the end, the food was so bad). Start with what I got. Cajun waffle fries, deep fried pickles, sweet heat sando. Cajun waffle fries- apparently they are supposed to be made with potatoes? Whatever seasoning they used (mostly just salt) there was more of it layered on than the potato. The only reason i finished these was because there were so few in the serving. Deep fried pickles- do they actually use any pickles in these? all i got was the breading, and the breading had no seasoning. could have taken some of the seasoning from the waffle fries and put them in here. Ontop of the no seasoning, there were hardly pickles in the deep fried batter they used (see pictures). If someone put these infront of me in a blind taste, I would have no idea what im eating. And finally the chicken sandwich. If this were half decent, Id be able to look past the sides, but it wasnt Sweet Heat Sando- cold, dry and not alot of meat. easiest way to describe it. its obvious it had been sitting under a heat lamp or some equivalent for a while as the meat was dry and chewey. Then there was whatever sauce they used on it? sweet heat... it was neither sweet or hot, just overpowered with molasses. Again, after eating fried chicken sandwiches from around the city, I will not even consider this again. I couldnt even finish the pickles or the chicken sandwich. I even offered the chicken to my dog, he sniffed it and backed away in disgust (and he was a rescue from the streets). T anyone wanting a good fried chicken sandwich... The Heartbreak Chef or Chen Chens (in that order). Both are levels above this that doesnt pass as dog food
There are way better fried chicken spots in Toronto than this. Chicken Batter full of Oil. Food
Hottest chicken sandos in the city!
Best fried chicken in Toronto
We originally came here when this place first opened and the food was amazing. We had the OG sandwich at that time and were really impressed. But it was out of the way for us so it took us a long time to come back. Today, we decided to go back for take out. First: calling in to place our order to a friendly voice who was knowledgeable was a big plus. We picked up and ate in the parking lot out back because we wanted to be able to eat as messily as we wanted without anyone watching us lol. The food was packaged in boxes and was very appetizing to look at! I ordered 2 pieces of chicken with a side of waffle fries and my husband ordered the OG sandwich with a side of waffle fries. Let me say that if u want real fried chicken, then this is the place to go. The batter is thin enough to coat the chicken and very crispy. But not so thick as to be overwhelming. The food tastes good. Hubby had a difficult time with the spice level even though we got a level below what we normally get. So u might want to rethink ur spice level and go one or two below. The only issue I had today was that both my chicken and the fries were over salted. I wish it had been less. But the chicken was juicy and not over cooked. The serving size was very good. And I appreciated that!
OG chicken sandwich was ok. Restaurant was disappointingly old and unclean. Not worthy of a Michelin rating.
When you leave the house and the only craving you have in Nashville hot chicken, this place hits the mark. Great batter and fry. Complex and interesting seasoning. And HOT! (For the Hot AF) - not for the faint of heart! I like VERY hot and this does not disappoint.
Highly recommend paying extra for the brioche bun. Really juicy and seasoned to perfection. We were the last customers of the day and it tasted great.
Service is great and the food is fantastic, you cant go wrong. The spice level is perfect. Compares very favourably to Hattie Bs.
The sandwich is delicious (less pleasant on the way out). Best ordered to go, if you sit in your clothing will smell deeply of oil from the fryer. The wings and fries were a bit greasy. Friendly service.
You will wait a little while, and you will pay slightly more than the average chicken place, but its just so worth it. Excellent chicken, solid portions, and the dip brings it home.
Awesome chicken sandwich, so crispy so good, highly recommended
This place has the best chicken sandwich I ve ever eaten and it keeps me going back. My coworkers all love the place and get take out regularly. Their chicken with coleslaw on the Texas toast is a perfect mixture. Watch out for the tasty spice it ll bite ya back if you can t handle the hot stuff.
Was gonna dine in but the place looks so old and untidy. I got chicken and coleslaw which then gave me food poisoning for the rest of the day. Overpriced for the taste and amount of food. Never coming back.
Been coming here since 2018. A must visit for anyone coming to Toronto!
The sweet heat bites are mouth wateringly delicious. Have to try the OG sandwich next time. Amazing quality chicken.
I am not a fried chicken connoisseur, but the fried chicken here is legit. I got the OG Sando on brioche, awesome. The chicken was crispy and tender, the slaw was balanced, and the pickle gave it that perfect touch. I got it hot, and it had an amazing kick, and the noise was running ! Ill definitely come back and try other items on their menu.
#1 fried chicken in Ontario
1. Misleading Cleanliness: Despite the polished images on social media, the actual cleanliness of the place fell short. It was a bit deceiving to see the stark contrast between the online portrayal and the reality. 2. Taste Disappointment: The visually appealing images led me to anticipate a culinary delight, but the taste was underwhelming. Its disheartening when whats served fails to live up to the tantalizing promises made by the visuals. 3. Hygiene Concerns: The state of the bathroom and the overall cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired. Its essential for any dining venue to maintain high standards of hygiene, which unfortunately seemed lacking here. 4. Mediocre Chicken: The chicken dish I ordered was average at best. Considering the hype surrounding the place, I had expected more in terms of flavor and quality. 5. Questionable Accolades: The claim of being a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient for 2022 and 2023 feels like a bit of a stretch given the subpar experience. Such prestigious recognition sets high expectations, which this establishment failed to meet.
Not good at all, the dining room is filthy
Amazing sweet heat chicken bites! We really enjoyed the juicy chicken, waffle fries and creamy dip! Highly recommend
The fried chicken is super crispy and delicious! Love the waffle fries too
I was excited to see how a fried chicken shop can get back to back bib gourmands, and it was a letdown. The chicken is probably the saltiest thing Ive ever had, youd think itd be easy to down a few bite sized bits of chicken but I was struggling to do it. It was also surprisingly tough, I dont remember the last time I had to chew so much to get down a piece of chicken. Fried pickles were okay, not my preferred type of pickle though. The buttermilk dipping sauce was bland, or perhaps it was way overpowered by the amount of salt on the chicken. The price is pretty up there as well, this little amount was $20. Honestly I think PG Clucks is far superior.
Super nice staff and delicious chicken, cant go wrong here.
Great food!
Hidden Gem in the junction and is michelin recommended. Their waffle fries is a must have, I also ordered the Chicken Sandwich with a bit of kick and was a bit spicier than expected so br cautious on the spice level. Be prepared to wait a little bit if it is busy as everything is made fresh to order. Would highly recommend for your fried chicken cravings!
The food is amazing! I ve had most things off the menu and I cannot choose which is my favorite, but definitely need cajan waffle fries with my order :) The staff are awesome! They re so friendly and look like they are always enjoying themselves at work. Not the prettiest place (for all the social media people) but trust me the food is so good you don t even care what the rest of the place looks like. Being fried chicken and fried items it is always best to eat fresh off the fryer, but it does transfer well if you re doing take out. Note: the back room door slams often and is pretty loud so if you re sensitive to loud noises, then takeout is best. Parking: Street parking available, however Dundas street is quite busy. No parking on keele street.
Something was lacking. Maybe its the cut of chicken. Spice level is on the lower end so you can up one level Dietary restrictions: Halal
Absolutely love thier fried chicken!
michellin is a joke
My stomach hurts after having 2 wings :(((
Got the OG sandwich, nice crisp, juicy but the taste wasnt there for me, just okay. The coleslaw was the same, felt like it was lacking. Pickles sucked.
Huge big thank you to all the crew at chicas had the best OG sandwich delivered to me at work thank you all I ll definitely order again
Everything was great but there was strange smell of oil
Don t even think about it just go and get the food. Amazing. Food : 5/5
Came here for a quick lunch on a Wednesday. Service was quick & friendly and the hot chicken sandwich was fantastic - the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Seating area is a little dark and dingy, not exactly what I was expecting
Hands down, the best burgers and chicken sides Ive ever had. I found this place through some reels on Instagram, and my husband did too. We decided to check out this Michelin-recommended restaurant, and oh, good lord, we loved this place. I have only been here once, and I cant stop thinking about the food here. The chicken inside the burger is so juicy yet crispy. The outer crisp is such that you can hear someone taking a bite even miles away. I recommend everyone try out this place 100%. However, please dont be disappointed by the ambiance. Its not the best, but the food matters! Although the menu shows the prices being low, once you get there, thats when it starts getting pricey. The point is, those prices are for the patty alone. If you want to make it a burger with burger buns, then you need to pay extra. The same goes for fries and then soda. You dont get a combo, and because of this, the total bill gets a bit pricey. But dont have second thoughts because of the price; just go and try it!
Ordered through Doordash. OG chicken sandwich was very salty. Disappointing!
Bought food for take out. Ordered chicken pieces and fries. Waited around 50 min for the order. Not much of a big deal but people who came in 2 min after me ended up getting their food. I understand that orders after ne will get started at the same time and such but these people had a big meal and it is hard to believe that the people after me just got salads and fries because this place is known to have chicken. When asking the server about my order he just said that it was coming without double checking the back which did not reassure me at all. I would say that the food was good but it was mediocre.
Saw this all over Instagram and I just had to try it. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. Pros: Chicken for the OG was cooked to perfection! Super juicy, and although the sandwich came with bread instead of a bun, it made the overall meal very light, which prioritised the chicken. Their Cajun waffle fries were the best seasoned waffle fries Ive ever had. Cons: the sandwich wasnt filling but it did the job. The spice level at this place is very low, I expected it to have more. The seasoning for the chicken wasnt strong enough to feel like a Nashville sandwich. The interior of the restaurant is very small, the tables are close together and it feels like a crammed old school diner Parking: On a busy Saturday night, the street was packed with parked cars, you may find a spot within a 2 minute walk
The Hot/Honey Sando will not disappoint! Waffle fries and slaw rounded out the perfect meal! This place is a must! Food
Scratch-made fresh and nasty fried chicken and sides! I ordered the mild, which left a little more to be desired in terms of heat, but it was still excellent! Would go back and tried the hotter versions next time.
We tried the fried chicken, chicken sandwich and fried dill pickle. The sandwich was ok, the chicken was a bit oily and not spicy enough.
One of the tastiest fried chicken sandwiches Ive ever had. It was so simple but so good. Its a completely unassuming location and place but it blew past any expectations I had. I got the OG sandwich, medium heat. The sandwich wasnt soggy, didnt drip all over the place, was easy to eat and bite into, and very delicious. I will go here again.
It was nice the first time we ordered from Chicas, but every time weve ordered delivery after the first something went wrong with our order? We tried giving them another shot today, but.....almost every single item in our order was the wrong size? lol?? first time: good! second time: we ordered the pickles but it was a lot of bits of gross breading by itself and just a few scraps of pickles? the rest of the food was Fine, i guess third time: we ordered mild OG Bites but they were incrediblyyyy hot, so much it made me wonder if they mixed up our order with someone elses? fourth time: we ordered large fries and got a small, ordered chicken bites to share and got a tiny box much smaller than the normal chicken bites container theyve sent when we ordered before (they still charged $15 though lol), ordered pickles and got a tiny drink cup full of them instead of the normal-size container. the food was mostly okay, but a few of the bites tasted like weird breading and sauce by itself with no actual meat. it might be okay if you go there in person and double-check everything, but maybe not worth the stress for delivery?
Staff were nice and friendly, assisted me with the best options to pick for the mood I was feeling. Food was made fresh and that was reflected in the amazing taste.
Ordered the sweet heat sando, the sandwich was nice but the Cajun fries had too much seasoning. I would come back for takeout.
Be prepared to wait for the best fried chicken sandwich in the city. Finally got to try this place recommended by a friend pre Michelin guide release. Came on a Friday evening at 7pm and I ordered the OG on a brioche bun + large Cajun waffle fries. It took about 35 minutes for my order to be ready. The chicken sando was made to order, perfectly battered and crispy. I really liked how it wasnt too oily despite being deep fried. Cajun fries are a must order and the large is the better value for sharing than each getting your own. Highly recommend and would come back. NOTE: Large waffle fries was plenty to share with 3 people.
Hidden gem The OG is my go-to every time Perfect date spot. 9/10 Chicken sandwich Best waffle fries in Toronto.
Great local spot for a fried chicken spot, definitely up there with some of the best I ve had in the city, the waffle fries pretty underrated, 8.4/10
One of the most tastiest chicken sandwich I have ever had hands down!!! Amazing!!! This is must go to spot if you in Toronto area!!
I hope every single person gets paid amazingly because the chicken and fries were the best Ive ever had in my life. The guy that took our order was beyond chill
Best on this planet
Food was too good. Forgot to take a picture. I got the jalapeño popper sandwich and waffles fries
I ALMOST FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES! Haha, the food was delicious! Had to get right into it! It took 40 minutes to receive our food. It was worth the wait though! Ordered: Jalapeños Popper Sandwich Waffle Fries SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS!
Best fried chicken sandwich in the City, and by a large margin. It s consistently cooked perfectly (unlike some competitors ), although I think that even hottest level isn t too hot. Food
Solid flavors, its very good but Heartbreak Chef is leagues ahead. Would go back if I was in the area but wouldnt make a special trip
Got the OG sandwich to go and I loved it. The meat was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lots of great flavours.
Came here Wednesday around lunch time. It was not too bad as there were a few people making their orders ahead of me. The cashier was really helpful as it was my first time coming here as I searched up torontos best chicken sandwich spot on google. I went with the popular OG chicken sandwich medium spice then paired it with some classics waffle fries. I loved the sandwich as it was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I ve had. The spice also was teetering to the point it would have made the meal not so flavourful and just spicy and I like spicy. I think medium would be my max as spice level goes. The waffle fries nothing wrong and just as good. Definitely suggest this spot out to any chicken sandwiches lovers. Or chicken in general. I will be back to try other meals.
Chicken was super crispy and flavourful. I had a chicken breast and it was juicy! Very laid back atmosphere and food was delicious. I ll be back!
We went here because on social media people said that this was the best chicken sandwich town, and they werent wrong. If you like fry chicken you have to go there.
I have been going here for couple of years. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the GTA. Everything is good and people who work here are nice. Although the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have increased. Im sure inflation and cost of goods increasing have played a big factor to this but the taste and quality remains the same. Overall a solid 8-9/10.
Service is so great. Coming in from Calgary and the gentleman recognized us when we came back for the second time, the chicken is off the chains too. A top spot for fried chicken in Toronto without question
Chica s chicken is the only direct competitor to the Catholic Church
No fries, burger with toast bread taste disgusting, place look so dirty.
Best chicken sandwich in GTA. No debate.
Best fried chicken in Toronto. The staff are very friendly and the vibes are IMMACULATE. Ill definitely come back.
chicken is not the least bit spicy sayshot a.f.
Cute diner-feel, cozy and simple. The food is what youre going for and its absolutely delicious! Simple, to the point menu. Great staff, chill and friendly. No frills. Just straight delicious chicken! Order ahead!!
Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I ve had in the city. The cajun waffle fries are amazing too!
Was really expecting better. Coleslaw was soggy and shallow. None of it transports well, be sure to eat in, or at least vent the boxes. The chicken is good don t get me wrong, but it hardly lives up to the hype. If the meal cost half as much and was twice as good, I d be writing a different review.
Experience Torontos finest chicken sandwich served with exceptional care and attention. This charming, retro-style eatery takes you on a nostalgic journey back to the 1970s, showcasing an authentic and timeless ambience.
Good food, good service, nice people, gave us extra food when they were closing which was nice
Juicy and flavorful chicken. I went with the OG with Brioche bun. Dietary restrictions: All chicken used is Halal
great chicken sandwich but the fried chicken pieces were too bitter with dried seasoning and burnt really bad.
A1.
I will update this review when I go back k to this restaurant. But My gf was the one to go on and get the food, so I cant comment on the service or atmosphere yet. But the food was delicious. Got the OG chicken bites and spicy waffle fries. The Waffle fries are seasoned well, cooked through fully and great potato taste and mouth feel. Definitely not your hollow over fried waffle fries. They hold up and are delicious. The OG bites are crunchy and succulent pieces of meat, seasoned heavily. I got the medium heat bites and they are very hot. Mouth was on fire eating them. Will definitely get medium next time. The dipping sauce it comes with perfectly compliments the heat of the bites. For the food alone u give this place a 5/5. Parking: Paid Green P street parking in the area.
Ordered 2 orders one mild/medium on hot . Got one mild .one mild medium . Indicated on the box . Seems they cant get orders right also took a very long time to make . I love supporting small businesses in my neighborhood. I just wish they can step up a little here .
Someone showed up with this for a party. None of had tried it before and it was insanely good. Must try
Deep fried pickles were not fried enough, waffle fries had no taste. Only thing I would go back for is the og sandwich.
Good
By far the best Fried Chicken I ve tried and I ve been to quite a few in Toronto. The sandwich was so delicious and the chicken was so tender. The hot and honey bites were incredibly tasteful. Still having flash backs about them haha definitely going to be coming back to get more. The Cajun waffle fries were fireeeee, ouffff really delicious!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE. You won t be disappointed Parking: You can park along Dundas which is Green P
This place has been on my list for years and I finally got to cross it off! They use nice buns. But of course the star of the show here is the amazing friend chicken. They have a few options for the type of sandwich youd like. I went for the sweet heat. I really liked the sauce on the chicken but I was a bit disappointed by the lack of toppings. They only slapped a bunch of still-wet, canned jalapenoes on the sandwich. A piece of lettuce and tomato would go a long way on their sandwiches. The interior is very drab as well. Service is ok, not particularly warm but not bad either.
Very oily
Jalapeño Popper-This sandwich offers a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The crispy chicken provides a satisfying crunch, complemented by the zesty kick of pickled jalapeños. The chipotle sauce adds a smoky and spicy layer, elevating the overall taste. A delightful combination for those who crave a spicy and savory experience.
This is by far my favorite chicken place in the city. Crunchy and tasty chicken, you cant go wrong with the wings or the burger. Food : 5/5
Great service, great food and the best fried chicken in Canada!
Amazing OG burger! And you can t miss the Cajun fries, they were amazing!!
Probably one of best burgers I have had in YEARS! Highly recommend the OG burger
Very very good chicken!
My #1 fried chicken spot and I ve tried tons. TMy death row meal for sure.
Dont expect anything fancy. However, the food is top noch. I can say that is THE BEST fried chicken in the city. Sandwiches are a must, and the individual pieces are full of flavor. Make sure to be there somewhat early as close to the closing time, the oil tends to be a bit burned. Nothing mayor, but theres picky people out there.
The chickens very good, the waffle fries are bomb, but the vibe is awful. Lights are never on, you have a sweaty line cook taking orders, and theres a whole row of 2-tops that just...dont have chairs. I understand yall are keeping a trim budget and like 90% of your business is uber, but give us SOME creature comforts. Oh and a wheelchair ramp if you care at all.
I went because of good reviews. Not sure why this place have any. Inside is like a dump, the food is below average. Chicken pieces was ok size wise. The mild spice was extremely boring. I mean a lot if spices on outer layer that makes your face and hands red and oily, yet does not add any interesting flavour. Perhaps other spice levels are better? For size pieces, i ordered two pieces and got 1 leg and something that feels like half chicken, made really complicated to eat. Overall, expensive and totally not worth it.
Best chicken that you can eat in the town by far. Juicy, well-cooked, amazing. Love it, suggest it!
This is my first time, trying a different alternative fried chicken sandwich spot other than Dave s and I would say that this place does make really good fried chicken sandwiches and I would definitely come here again it s just that it is very heavy and I did feel it after eating it but again what can you expect? It is a fried chicken sandwich And the only complaint that I would have is the place itself is pretty old and little bit rundown and I do wish they would maybe do a little bit of renovations. Service was a 10 out of 10.
So disappointed. $36 for 4 pieces of burnt chicken. I wish I could give ZERO stars.
Great food paired with great service! Would recommend either of the chicken sandwiches and the Cajun waffle fries. I would recommend ordering ahead because it does take some time for your food to be made but it s well worth it! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Definitely check it out.
The best fried chicken I have ever had in my life!! Highly recommended!! Thanks for the great food. Food : 5/5
This restaurant uses locally raised, free range, halal chicken, and is a great place to go if you like fried chicken with some spice as there are a few different flavour options to choose from. The non-spicy flavor is limited to the one Lemon Pepper option, or you can opt for no spice (i.e. Plain) for the other menu items. Food 4.5/5 - The fried chicken here (wings and bites) has just the right amount of batter, good texture, and is perfectly crispy. I also enjoyed their waffle fries and coleslaw. I rated the food 4.5 because Ive had my chicken overcooked and slightly burnt before, and dont love the sandos. Service 3/5 - Like most fast food restaurants, youre expected to place your order at the counter and then wait for your food to be prepared. This place can be pretty busy in terms of the number of orders they get, which results in long wait times for your food. Ive had to wait approximately 45 minutes for my order once. However, the food was fresh. I would recommend ordering your food in advance, and then picking it up at the restaurant to avoid the long wait. Atmosphere 2/5 - the interior looks like an old diner, with worn furniture, dim lighting, and inventory out in the open. Theres a bit of seating if you want to eat there, but overall, I dont think the atmosphere is great for dining in.
Came here amid the Michelin guide and the high google reviews. I m a fried chicken fan but frankly I m a bit disappointed. Had the OG sandwich, buffalo sandwich and also a 2 piece combo with fries and slaw among the 3 of us. The chicken was nice and juicy but found the flavour too overpowering. Buffalo sauce was too tangy and the spices on the chicken too strong. Overall too greasy and salty for our taste. Service was good though. Able to order ahead from the website and the girl at the counter was very nice.
Amazing food, amazing service.
I m not a fan of chicken sandwich and I think I got confused with the menu coz i was expecting a bun but i got the sandwich. Nonetheless, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy! The sauce and other mix in the sandwich well complimented the chicken and it was balanced. Even the fries was well seasoned. I am not a fan of the place as it was a little cramped and exhaust wasn t that good. I hope they move or have another branch with updated interiors and cleaner setup. I would suggest you just oder for delivery as the place doesn t give justice to how good their chicken is. We parked at the back which was paid parking and walked to the place. I didn t notice if it was wheelchair accessible but i think it s very well accessible for commuters. Service is a bit slow but understandable considering the line up for pickups when we were there and i don t mind coz the food was served freshly cooked and the servers were nice and they are working and not just chillin and chattin. Would definitely order again and highly suggest you give this a try!
Decent chicken but wow the spices do hit
If you like licking salt cubes you ll like salt moulded into fried chicken because that s what your eating pure salt. I could feel a headache coming from the first bite. Awful. Nice staff though.
