So what n the day of the power outage I was stuck without a way to cook for myself so I headed up Eglinton to find somewhere to eat. The first spot I found with Power was The Abbot. When I got there you could tell it was busier than usual and there was only 2 staff members available (Kat and Aimee) and they worked TO THE BONE making EVERYONE comfortable I didn t even have to wait 5 mins to be served, I had a beer and a water within seconds and my I thought I would be waiting for at least a half hour before my food order was ready but magically because the staff here goes above and beyond I had my food in like 10-15 mins and it was hot and delicious When you come here you may wrongfully assume this is just another pub in Toronto but once you meet Kat and Aimee you know you really found something special here Couldn t recommend more

Message to the Abbot management. Bartender/Server was possibly the worst service I ve ever experienced in Toronto. We waited 15 mins to be acknowledged, but we saw the bar was busy so took no offence to it. We follow by ordering 2 Long Islands and a spicy Caesar with pickle juice. We sat on the patio and waited for our drinks. We then ordered fries about 15 mins after our drink order. Our server marched over to basically yell at us and said we don t have pickle juice behind the bar and I m not grabbing it. Do you still want it? . We were completely pleasant and accepting of the time we ve been waiting because the restaurant was busy but I was so taken it back about the attitude she gave us. Was asking for pickle juice offensive? She made me feel bad for asking for a drink the way I like it. The fries then subsequently arrived before our drinks. Our Long Islands came tasting like rum and coke not a Long Island? My Caesar came with horse radish I would have liked to be notified of this, maybe you could have taken the time you spent with your rude comments to tell me about the way that you make the drink. We came in good spirits and after our servers attitude, it really left a sour taste. At the end we didn t tip our server based on the outrageous attitude we didn t deserve and our server said thank you looked at the receipt, and then said or not thank you . I really loved the Abbot. Dinhem was absolutely wonderful. I sat on the patio and had the Chicken Club with fries. The sandwich was very delicious!! The fires were great. Loved this experience!!!

I cant believe that you googled the name of a person who wrote a review for you and then called her workplace without permission! You are like a scary stalker! Creepy! - One: Before all this happened I have been in your restaurant and I have taken pictures there and I can show in court that I was there and I saw your charming service . Two: A mature and wise person who cares about his business will apologize. You keep threatening us, keep going and lets see who will lose!

In fact, I tipped the server because I was satisfied with her service and she was kind to us, so it was obvious that I would appreciate it and tip her as I mentioned clearly how I was happy with her! The photo shows the part where I clearly mentioned I was happy with the server, its ridiculous that you dont even read a review and just want to respond in a way to blame the customer. Secondly, I didn t understand the connection between investigate to know about the reviews and calling someone workplace without their consent! Thirdly, my friend also mentioned that it was not their experience but their friends experience, and that the supervisors name was not clear to them. Fourthly, please try to make the customer happy instead of threatening her! Actually, I am the one who can sue you for searching my name and calling my workplace without my consent! So please work on your reaction when you get a negative review! You really need to work on your business manners because as I can see you know nothing about it! That is no wonder you have this staff! They are obviously showing your organizations culture! Be aware that I will share this unbelievable experience with my followers on social media and let others know how you are acting when a simple respectful negative review comes! I could not believe what happened after I posted my review! It seems that they googled my name and called my workplace to find out what happened! They called my workplace number without asking for it! You really do need more business training! Also, please dont call my work number again! You could simply reply to my review here! Again, calling someones workplace after posting a review for your restaurant? really?! ________________ Although it wasnt my first time here, it definitely would have been my last! The lady, who may be the shift supervisor, acted in an arrogant manner and left me feeling so sad and uncomfortable. My feelings are difficult to describe, but I wanted to let the owners know that it is essential to make customers feel good when running this kind of business, and clearly, they dont prioritize this. There was one server (a lady with long, straight black hair and glasses) who was very helpful and kind to me, and I greatly appreciated her help.

A wonderful server, lovely atmosphere and fantastic for brining kids to. We brought my two year old and six month old and it was a great welcoming environment with incredible personalised service. Highly recommend and one of the best in the neighbourhood!

The Abbot is by far the best place to go to!! The staff are so amazing and caring, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is so perfect especially when there are big sports games on. The prices are super good and it is such an amazing experience. Thank you to all the amazing staff who made my time there so amazing and lovely and will definitely be going back.

Update : we came back today (2 weeks later) for Mother s Day dinner. The waiter recognized us, was attentive throughout. After we finished eating she acknowledged what went wrong last time, offered us dessert on the house ! Thanks so much guys :) we ll be back many many times over Haven t been to this spot in years. They forgot about our dessert and we had to ask for the bill 3 times in the span of 15 min. I brought my in laws who were visiting from buffalo for the day. I felt embarrassed as my mother in law kept saying they really aren t in a hurry to get you out of here . I also had my 2 year old son with me, waiting is not the easiest for him. I had to get up from the table to get our server to give us the bill, which I very much dislike doing as a I feel like a real A hole. There was no recognition that we had to wait for so long.

Been coming here every time I visit family who live near by, for years. Nice place, friendly staff. Prices have become crazy though, (even compared to other more upmarket bars) for the wee local pub it is. Cocktail bar prices for simple liquor and mixer drinks.

Everything is beyond reasonably inflationary overpriced. There daily features are nothing special and just simply equally overpriced. Why even have a daily features menu if theres no special on them. Also absolutely terrible one of the worst bar beer selections ever. The food is decent at best. They dont have one decent smooth crisp LIGHT easy drinking Lager beer on tap. Every beer is either heavy or an IPA or some clustrfk type. There are not many options on the in the immediate area so this place again sufficed for convenience, otherwise I would never go out of my way. So many better good spots around. A very different crowd too.. They need more tvs. The place is just off..

This is a cozy pub/restaurant in an area that you wouldnt expect. From the outside it appears to be a standard pub, but dont let that fool you, the food is high end and the service is friendly and casual. Also, theres a robot that brings you your food. Also-also, their home fries during brunch are phenomenal.

Coziest pub I ve ever been in. Great service. The fireplace is awesome. Food a bit disappointing-had fajitas and expected the veg to be colourful and al dente but they were completely overcooked and mushy. I ll be back to try something else.

Was disappointed to arrive at about 9:30 on a Friday or a Saturday night and told that the kitchen was already closed - couldnt even get a dessert. Had a pint and split. Seemed a shame as the place was busy with a bustling crowd checking out musical entertainment etc. Great, friendly server, nice neighbourhood vibe etc. Hence, doubly astounding that the kitchen was so rigidly done - make hay while the sun shines ...

We had them prepare prime rib dinners for us, before the time that they usually had them on the menu, and the food was delicious. The service that Mandy gave was awesome. I recommend them unreservedly!

I ve been there a few times with and without my spouse, and Laura remembers me, my name and is always smiling! She serves amazing cocktails, with the whole presentation on point, too. I m all about her vibe and atmospheric positivity. Makes me wanna go back to see her! I haven t had all the food there, the sliders and French onion soup are legit. Highly recommend :)

Food was so good and they easily handled our allergies. The staff were great too. This is an easy choice for gluten free just tell the server.

The food here is decent. The prices are high for bar food though. The service is hit or miss. Our actual server we saw 30% of the time seemed to have a bit of an attitude or i duno an ego or something. Then we had a server that ran the food and would come over sometimes to check on us who was very pleasant and made up for the bad vibe we got from the other server. I hope our actual server split the tip with her cause if it wasnt for her it would have been a much poorer tip. I feel like they might be the kind of server that thinks they can provide bare minimum service and get a 25% tip. It felt like she judged us as we sat down and then it was a self fullfilling prophcy that were bad tippers. Shes the type thatll go around and say see i told you theyd tip bad when if she just provided us with decent service im happy to tip high. I was a server for over 10 years so ive worked with entitled servers before. I duno, maybe im wrong but she made us feel uncomfortable regardless of the reason and still, i tipped above 15%, with the hope the other server got some of it. If your the nice server of the two and are doing the customer service work and not getting half the tip, i suggest u ask for a raise.

Servers were rude, didn t even come up to take our order when we sat down. Waited for a while and had to flag them down ourselves while getting an attitude. Drinks are also overpriced and atmosphere isn t good.

I dont ever do this but I gotta say, the bartender at this place (the brunette with the Lisa Loeb glasses) was unnecessarily rude and so was her drunk coworker (short dark haired woman). I imagine had the owner been present, neither of them wouldve behaved the way they did. Smoking and being drunk in front of the restaurant isnt exactly the most professional of decisions but I guess thats what you get at The Abbot, along with drunken insults and passive aggressive behaviour. Anyhow, I wont be coming back because of the poor quality work these two exhibited. Ill be spending my coin everywhere else including at the Thirsty Fox Pub where the staff are sociable, personable, real people who are appreciative of your presence. The food here is terrible and the cost of a pint is $11.00! Seriously, this place has more in common with a Gabbys than a finer establishment yet they charge like theyre the latter. Save your coin and time folks.

This is my favorite spot in the neighborhood hands down! Mandy and Sharok always take such good care of me. The Schnitzel is soooooo delicious, highly recommend.

This is a classic neighborhood spot. It has good food for casual dining, a variety of beers, friendly service and outdoor tables if you wish. If that suits your purpose its as good as it gets, plus a city parking lot right behind.

The food quality isnt as good as it used to be. I was there yesterday, I got sick from the food. I did inform them about it and paid, including tip, and their attitude got rough and on the aggressive side, making worse what was already a bad time. Its bad for me as a neighbor for now I have one less option to go, the lucky thing, there are plenty of good alternatives around.

Our office went here after work on a Thursday night and it was an amazing experience. Our server was so much fun and her energy was contagious. Food tasted great. We ordered drinks, wings, fries, shrimp, calamares, nachos and so much more. It wasn t busy, maybe because it was Thursday, but we liked it, it felt as though we had the place for ourselves. Everyone had fun. Highly recommended!

A great place to watch soccer games

The bar was fine, the price was a bit overpriced. The portions of nachos were small, even though it was tasty. Personally I just felt the nachos were too saucy, and there s not enough cheese. The atmosphere was okay, but some of the servers seems undertrained. We also found a fly in the beer which was a little bit gross :( btw the robot was super cute tho!

This is my local, and I love it! I dont get over there as often as Id like, but when I do I enjoy their menu of salads and upscale comfort classics (duck mac and cheese!) supplemented by an always interesting list of specials and a well-populated bar menu. The tables are laminated with reproductions of classic modern artworks, a nice touch. I never wind up sitting at the bar (more of a booth gal) but it always seems to be busy. And theres patio seating where you can watch the world go by on Eglinton.

The food was very good! The pizza was delicious. The staff was friendly and we got our food quickly even though we were a large group. They have a cat robot that helps deliver the food from the kitchen which was cute. Vegetarian options: Pizza Kid-friendliness: They had a high chair ready for the child in the group.

First time here and I absolutely love it. Food is fresh. Burgers are amazing and tasty and very large. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Its a little pricey but worth it I feel. I was leary of it before thinking it was just a bar. Its not. Its a restaurant with a bar but more of just a good place to eat. Its now in our rotation of places to go. Thanks for the great food guys! UPDATE! Just had dinner here and wow. Still great food and the service is amazing. Made our night. Robo server is cool but if the server is coming out with Robo I dont see the point? Cool though. Also glad to see the washrooms are nice and spotless!

The bartender Laura made the most magnificent espresso martini from scratch. We were so amazed by both the presentation and taste of the drink after learning she came up with the concoction from scratch and making a personal twist to the drink. Would 10/10 recommend both the drink and bartender!!

I picked up a salad for take out. I started eating it and noticed that the salad leaves had a sandy texture, just horrid! Then when I went to look in the box to see if some was wrong with the order I noticed a thread from what I guess is a kitchen towel and the salad was in a box that appeared to have already had something else (something with a gravy) in it. I called the restaurant and advised them, spoke to the server who had packaged the salad and she said shed pass on the message. No one ever contacted me to follow up. This is a restaurant Id dined at before, but after this experience NEVER AGAIN!

Great selection of local beer. The macaroni and cheese with duck was amazing.

I have now been here twice now, and everytime the customer service is amazing and the food is really good! Also you have to try the lemon crumble or the tres leches

Great service! I ordered a soup I thought I would like but turned out it was mushrooms and I hate mushrooms but then I tasted it and it was okay. So that must mean it s delicious to someone who likes mushrooms. I also got tacos a strong 6.8 /10 too much green and not toasted . Overall delicious because I m high.

The food I got on my night out was very disappointing. It wasn t prepared with care. Would not recommend nor will I go back. Everything tasted like a Sysco special. Such a shame because it s in Forrest Hill and had a great location.
