The Oxley promises fantastic food served alongside a good pint or an excellent glass of wine – all at a price that won’t break the bank. All our food is made from scratch, and lovingly prepared by our kitchen team overseen by the Executive Chef & Owner Andrew Carter
Our waiter were amazing, she was really professional. More than food, atmosphere was because of her, we felt welcomed, special. Congratulations to the manager who hired and trained staff like her. So happy some places still maintain the high standards. We will be back for sure. ( sorry, I don’t remember her name)
Really enjoyed our meal here, the food was delicious, full of flavor from start to finish. We will definitely be back. Mary was such a lovely server :)
Loved the atmosphere and service was great! The drinks were very good but we didn't really enjoy the food. We had the burger and fish and chips. The burger was too salty and I didn't dig the flavour. The fish n chips had too little salt and were very bland. Great place to grab drinks with a nice vibe and great service. Wouldn't go back for the food.
This meal comes with a side of wasp for $28 CAD + tax. And they didnt even offer to change the beans that the wasp was in. the atmosphere wasnt good and the servers were extremely passive. And the serving size was really small for the price. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.
attentive service, in the rear of the building a nice gardwn, beers variaty offer a big choce and must try , on food side the chips with venigar is great, fish an chips , lamb and pork chops are good recommendations.
Was a lovely Saturday that we arrive for have a drink, but then I realized that the final of the champion League was happening and we asked if they have a tv with the game, they moved us to the second leven were is a nice bar in a like a private room .We were another 2 tables and one men sitting in the bar. And the game give us a great ambience. They have good beers and the food was not my favorite but was ok. We ask smoked salmon and chicken pie. They have nice service, everyone was very attentive.
Excellent experience from start to finish! Taylor welcomed us warmly and was our server throughout the meal. We started with a Pimm's Spritz each. Followed by appetizers: Baby Romaine & Asparagus Salad and Artichoke & Fromage Blanc Tartlett. For entrees, we thoroughly enjoyed the Duck and the Steak special, with frites! Dessert was delicious: Trifle and the Chocolate Hazelnut Tart. I wanted to lick the dessert plate 😁 Many thanks to The Oxley for a fabulous evening. We highly recommend!
Went here for brunch and had the Hog Town Benedict with potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Potatoes were excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend it! The place is also very intimate and cozy. Service was great and fast. Had a lovely time!
Beautiful little place with some of the best food around. A little disappointed that the draft selection is only draft beers (is it a pub if they don t pour Guinness?), but the food quality, variety, atmosphere and service more than make up for it.
Had the pithivier, quiche and fish and chips for lunch. They were all soggy, and the fried food tasted like they haven t changed the oil in a little while. The pithivier tasted like it was microwaved. The pimms cup was good though. Wheelchair accessibility: Not great for disabled persons
The perfect pub for post dinner drinks in Yorkville!!
Went to this place with my friends, food and ambience was very really good. Would love to there again!!
Went here on a weeknight for some drinks and it was packed. Nice older gentleman who serviced as the hostess was great. Very welcoming and accommodating. Got us a spot at the bar once one opened. Brett was our bartender, made a great negroni and manhattan.
Ordered a chicken kale salad and not only did it not taste good for a $40 salad (btw crazy price for a simple salad with piece of chicken) but also I made it home just in time for the food poisoning that followed. Would not recommend at all.
From my group that I was there with, I am told the food used to be better, it was my first time there and still it was a pretty good place.
Went for quick drinks before dinner. Vibe was perfect and Sam was awesome on her recommendation for apps.
Ate at the OXLEY last night and I have to say it was the best pub food I have eaten in Canada. It would classify as a Gastropub in London, England and it would hold up very well against their best. Will certainly be back again. Great service and atmosphere too. Easy to get to by TTC.
Only 1 Miss! Food, service, drinks were all on point....the disappointing part of the experience was the manager approaching our table with an immediate out time to accommodate another reservation. I get having a busy night and juggling reservations, my problem lays in the dismissive tone and abruptness of this without warning. Too bad as this location came highly recommended by trusted regulars.
Wonderful food. Great service.
Ideal all wood pub with two floors. Very comfy couches and great vibes. Parking: Theres a huge parking lot on the same block. Wheelchair accessibility: Not at all accessible. Stairs leading into the main floor, bathrooms are on different levels than the main floor. No lifts or elevators. In the summer, the patio would be accessible.
A female server and a female bartender (friday night) tricked and gave me a 23 dollar shot as similar to, when I asked for a shot of a Jamson!! It s such a trap! And a VERY SHAMEFUL ACT! It s like they are VULTURES and not HUMAN anymore!! 100% Disappointed
Our reservation was at 8 pm on Thanksgiving sunday and we were seated at 8:45, we weren t serviced so we left at 9:10.
I waited an hour for my table.
We waited for 30 minutes to be seated. By the time we started ordering, the desert listed on the set menu was all finished.
serving was so slow don t come here if u want to leave within the hour
Excellent pub with a wide selection of drinks.
Good food, will not go back because of a bad experience dealing with Jenn B, a manager there.
Great burger and patio and solid service
Good was low quality and everything was very minimum for the experience in yorkville.
Only popped in for a quick drink but the menu looked awesome. Super friendly staff and will be back to try the midlands curry.
Lovely service for dinner and some truly tasty pies
An amazing spot for dinner, lunch, brunch or a quick catchup with a friend or colleague. Dont miss their private back patio. The food is British inspired and gourmet gastro and utterly delicious. Their specials are unique and love the classic British food. Perfect all year round. Dont forget the desserts ! Sticky toffee pudding yummo!
Good food. Sunday roast is great. Can get busy and full fast
Waitress was very nice .food however was subpar and so was rude hostess from the front. Wont be back and definitely do not recommend . Many other nicer choices in this area. Ugly blonde hostess needs an attitude adjustment. Ciao
Good food, nice ambiance (especially in the terrace), bad service. Waiter forgets you for 20 minutes plus until you call them over telling them you re ready to order, then you don t see them again until they bring you your food. Want your check? Gotta go up to them and ask for it cause zero way you can wave them over. Last thing is that they don t tell you when it s last call or ask if you want a final order before kitchen closes.
Cozy, very good service
Great place to relax and have a few drinks while sitting outside!
French fries were d ry and seemed to be cooked on stale oil Bacon on burger was dry looking and was stale .it looked more like old pork rine
A cute pub ideal for a few points and some pub food. I love the casual relaxed feel of the place. Doesn t hurt that the food is consistently good and what you d hope for in a pub. Feels comfortable to be here no matter how long it s been. Vegetarian options: Limited veg options
Quite disappointed at the food, some basic stuff like burgers were dry and tasteless, which is disappointing for a restaurant at this price point. Only highlight was the tartare. Service was good and location excellent.
Best blt of my life! Super fresh food and amazing taste
we ordered the beef tartare, was so disappointed. I think the meat they used not of a high quality, you can still taste the raw beef, I think it was not marinated well and the beef was not cut into small pieces. Cocktails we ordered was so-so So we decide to look for another place. Place so small, noise level is so high!
Adult daycare! Hard to find a better place than the oxley for a drink and snack after work.
Great food and cool space
We dashed in out of the Freezing Rain and hit the jackpot with a welcoming fire, and a genuinely great welcome for the bartender and floor staff. The menu is delicious and loads of GF options for my partner who is Gluten intolerant. I was delighted to find Gunpowder Gin and more than a token selection of Irish Whiskey in a country that favours Scottish Whisky. The Fish and Lobster pie was loaded and piping hot. Lamb was perfectly cooked and surprisingly everything came out on Hot Plates another Rare thing in Toronto. Can t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back. B
Had a wonderful time in a warm, cozy atmosphere, enjoyed a delightful English cuisine!
The Oxley is a great spot that, although its in Yorkville, is more down to Earth than other spots. Its great for a romantic little date or just to grab a few cocktails. Not to say its not popular - when i visited a few years ago, we were able to get a table almost instantly and this past weekend it was quite full, so we got to sit at the super comfy couches instead. Staff are very friendly so that definitely makes this a spot I love to visit. I havent had a chance to try their food yet but will definitely update this review once i have.
A cozy neighbourhood gem with amazing food!
Terrible service, no idea why we had to wait half an hour for our bills when there were only two other tables in the restaurant
Great place, good food, wonderful service, and bonus, cask ale! Always stop in when we re in the area.
Subpar service but great beers and fish and chips!!
Cozy english pub feel with nice food and an inviting atmosphere.
Awesome food and atmosphere. Very friendly and comfortable. Great pub vibe.
One of the absolute best bars in Toronto - particularly when it s quiet.
Had family over for the holidays and decided to have dinner for the 15 of us. Big thank you to Jenn and team; for being so great. Love this casual cozy spot that has something for everyone.
Great pub in the heart of Yorkville. It s classy yet affordable. Love the the old house it s in. Super cute vibes. The menu is small but really good food.
Teneshia and Shannon are amazing, the atmosphere is welcoming and warm. What a great pub!
Good food but pricey.
Nice atmosphere, great service and good food. Was my 1st time there, Id go back.
Little cramped but have been visiting this place since students days at UFT. Met for class reunion Christmas dinner.
Live and vibrant English style pub/bar. The Sweetart cocktail was oh so tasty! The Fried Hash Potatoes with Aïoli is a must try! Note: Thursdays around 3pm they deep clean their kitchen, so you can t order seconds after a certain time.
Very delicious tomato soup and pretzels. Everything is delicious and high quality but the portions are very small so if you have a big appetite it may be hard to fill up. The service was ok but we did go on a very busy night.
Food and ambience was great. Love the old London pub look, really brings the UK vibe. Food for the most part was delicious, lots of traditional English dishes. The oxtail was perfectly cooked and the pudding soft and flavourful. My partner ordered the tenderloin medium rare and it came out raw. We sent it back to the kitchen and it returned a minute later looking exactly the same (see pic below). We sent it back again with the manager this time to have it cooked properly. The main reason this restaurant receives a 1/5 is because of poor customer service. Our server was quite rude to our party of 8. When we asked about specials he curtly replied that he would prefer to wait to go over specials until the remaining two people show up so he doesn t have to repeat the specials twice. Sure, makes sense but also is it that difficult to present the specials twice? One person in our party asked for some salt and he replied that he was still going around with the pepper and would get to it after. He could just say sure no problem . It was just the tone and choice of words, there was always some explanation that we found extremely patronizing. Not to mention he lectured my partner about how an old fashion drink is actually made when we just asked for a large ice cube and not small crushed ones. I m not sure if our server was just in a grumpy mood but it sure did rub off on our table, and frankly that kind of patronizing attitude is just not acceptable at a restaurant in Yorkville charging ~$100 a head. Slightly disappointed because I was excited about trying this London style restaurant.
Fantastic Burger! Make sure to order it Medium Rare.
Great service, delicious food, variety of beverages, so cozy and reasonable prices!
Best Sunday Roast in the city and also the best full English breakfast I ve had in Toronto. Love it!
Our favourite Yorkville bar. Great pub fare and the nicest staff. The Stilton and Walnut Soufflé is to die for!
My friends and i waited forever for the food my gal pal actually went up to the bar and asked whats taking so long ...her quiche was burnt my 30 dollar fish n chips was one fish a few cold fries overall never would return....server was not attentive even still i gave the customary 15 % when much less was warranted and was greeted with a dry frown when she saw it....
We found this place while wandering around the streets of Yorkville. Next time we will be looking for it! We both had the Winterlicious menu offerings. Everything was delicious. The food was perfectly seasoned. They had a wonderful Scotch whisky selection, worth going just for that. This place brought us right back to our vacation in Scotland and Ireland Our server was wonderful, but clearly the team there works together very well. We felt well looked after. This was an amazing place and we will be back!
First visit for Winterlicious. Will definitely go again.
We stopped in for a drink while walking around Yorkville enjoying a winter s evening. A warm and inviting space that just looked like the perfect choice when walking by, and we weren t disappointed. We chose the upstairs bar and dining room, and got great seats. The bar tender was extremely friendly, and discussed our drink preferences as he educated us on spirits we had not tried yet. After a lengthy discussion about gin, he pointed out the two he felt I would enjoy the most, and I ended really enjoying his first pick. My spouse enjoyed a hard cider. We weren t hungry enough to eat, but all of the food coming out for the tables looked very appetizing, we will make sure to save room for our next visit and stop back.
Friendly staff, great food. Looking forward to stopping in again when back in Toronto.
Not sure what this place thinks it is. It s not posh , it s a stinkin pub. 60 dollars for 2 glasses of wine is insane. Wine wasn t even that good, WTH?
Hi and Good Morning!! I am writing a review of the Oxley. A great pub with great food-Had a burger and also their steak-Grilled to perfection. I cannot say enough about the restaurant-Great ownership, Polite staff, professional chefs and the line cooks, servers, and Dish people. The customers are polite and seem quite the kind of people to greet. The restaurant is nice and might I add very clean. Keep up the great work!!.
From the main dish to desert and everything in betwen, expect nothing but bliss. Great selection of adult beverages. Highly recommended.
Its a nice place to see but also to eat, plus the staff is friendly and helpful.
One of my go to spots in Yorkville but recent lunch (cassoulet, smoked salmon) a disappointment. Fish and chips were A1. Bring back the fish pie!
This place has changed over the year but their food is still very good.
Was very disappointed in the food. I got the lamb which was $50+ and it was 2 pieces with mediocre soggy veggies. Same with the rest of the dishes my family was not impressed, I was embarrassed to take them there. Great service though really thought our server was attentive and kind hence the 3 stars.
Loved this place! Very reasonable price is. Excellent food and service to match. You will definitely need a reservation if coming around dinner
Drinks were good but the burger was $30, took over 40 minutes and it was brutal. It is basically like eating a bunch of cheap stake thrown sloppy together underseasoned as a greasy mess. Really too bad. We didnt even get cutlery for our place setting to wipe off the grease. Manager came over and treated us well.
Ask about the rooftop terrace, its the best.
Food was delicious! Fish and chips with lost of vinegar!
I enjoyed the fish and chips!
Loved it - great vibes and excellent burger! Staff was friendly and attentive.
Loved the vibes here, great service and menu. It is loud AF
4.5/5 In my ongoing pursuit of Torontos best fish and chips, Ive visited notable establishments like Fresco, Sea Witch, and Old Yorke. Unfortunately, most of them fell short of my expectations, except for Old Yorke. However, a new contender has emerged that might just surpass the reigning champion: Oxley. Upon entering Oxley, youll be greeted by an ambiance that effortlessly combines the elegance of a British pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The expansive back patio invites patrons to relax and enjoy their meal in style. With a two-story layout, it creates a secluded garden-like space that feels like a hidden gem. Now, lets talk about the star of the show: the fish and chips. Oxleys choice of fish is the haddock. The delicate, golden batter encases the fish perfectly, providing a satisfying crunch. Unlike the heavy batter found at Sea Witch, each bite at Oxley strikes the right balance between fish and coating, ensuring a delightful texture and flavor combination. Accompanying the fish are a range of delightful flavors. A sprinkle of flaky salt enhances the natural taste of the fish, while a gentle squeeze of lemon adds a refreshing citrus kick. The tartar sauce, slightly thicker than usual, surprises with its light and tangy profile. And heres where Oxley takes an unexpected twist: their unique sauce, reminiscent of the iconic butter chicken, adds a captivating dimension to the dish. The fusion of vibrant tomatoes, warm spices, and succulent fish creates a harmonious and memorable flavor experience. Lets not forget about the fries, which offer a departure from the ordinary. These larger-cut delights boast a fluffy interior and a golden exterior, reminiscent of the chips found in authentic British establishments. Although they may lack the traditional crunch, their unique texture adds an interesting element to the overall enjoyment. While my search for Torontos ultimate fish and chips continues, Oxley has undeniably made a lasting impression. If youre seeking a top-notch fish and chips experience in a welcoming setting, Oxley is an establishment that deserves your attention.
Great spot for cocktails and beers on Yorkville.
Serve rotten mussels. Terrible response by ownership.
A bit loud
The Oxley has been consistently offering great food in a lovely atmosphere for quite a few years now. Adept bartenders provide good cocktails and there is cask as well as draft and bottled beer. But this time around we experienced unparalleled customer service, for which I m very grateful. As always, we will be back on our next visit to Toronto.
Brilliant muscle dish
Great after work drinks and food!
Friendly service, and very decent food for the price.
The Oxley has gone wildly downhill in the past few years. For the price youd expect a much greater level of service and quality of food. I ordered the burger medium rare. It arrived well done and the texture was large chunks of meat - almost like stewing beef. It was meant to be a chopped burger, but this was much too coarse of a chop to be enjoyable. It wasnt even able to stay together. My dining partner ordered mussels which arrived cold and dry. The service also was very slow - it took 15 minutes to get water to the table. Dont recommend.
I have never experienced a server as rude as the one I met here. I ve been to this place couple of times and it s a cute little pub with a very cozy feeling. They have good food too but last night our sever was extremely rude to the point I couldn t see any reasons unless the guy was racist.
Had eggs bennie for a late brunch and it was fantastic. Such a great spot!
Terrific lunch spot, delicious and fresh salad, wonderful steak tartare with black mushroom. They also have a to die for sticky toffee pudding. I highly recommend this place.
An oasis of non-douchery in an otherwise douche-ridden neighbourhood.
The chefs are absolutely making fun of you from the kitchen. Heard it with my own two ears. You sit at the bar and you can hear them saying the worst things about their own paying customers. Sad really. Mostly about women. They either make comments about the way women are dressed, or they make fun of their weight. Consider that before you decide to patronize this place. As for the food, it really sticks to its roots as a British place. Nothing is seasoned, and everything is stolen from a Jaime Oliver cookbook. Plenty of other decent places on the street. Go elsewhere.
Vegetarian options: Only appetizers Food
Stopped in here on a whim while in the neighbourhood. Had a cocktail when the bar was less busy and switched to beer when it became crowded. Speaks to its quality that a rush happened at 1:30pm. I can see why! Great ambiance, the food was dynamite, and the staff extremely cool and friendly- especially the bartender Kira and the manager Jen. Ill make a point of revisiting when Im next in town and told my friends about it. The staff mentioned were very kind to me and generous with their knowledge of the area. Got to know them both on more than a superficial level. A rare and welcome introduction as I was a first-timer! Menu is real-deal English fare down to bubble and squeak, taken to a level of quality I was very impressed with. I asked for the lamb sausage and such and so, which they were out of, but had been replaced with smoked salmon instead of the sausage. Im happy it worked out that way. Hit the spot perfectly. Brilliant contingency! Price point is par for Yorkville and surely worth it. I got a great deal of fun and hospitality for my dollar. Brunch plus a cocktail, 3 beers, and 2 shots ran just a bit north of $80.
Wonderful spot for drinks or dinner. Very cozy but fun atmosphere. The service was great - staff is very knowledgeable about their food and wine. The food was delicious. I had the kale salad with a salmon topper. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Beautifully seared outside and moist and flaky in the middle. The kale salad was fresh with a tasty vinaigrette. A wonderful evening - will definitely be back!
Great location, warm atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. What more could one ask for? How about an inventive, creative menu featuring an awesome curry. The Oxley checks every box. If only there were more eateries like this on earth.
Came here for a very quick lunch and was not disappointed. Service was friendly and helpful. They were able to seat a large group up us from a conference on very short notice. Food was very good. Most of my party got breakfast/brunch items and everyone enjoyed. I can say that the full english breakfast was quite nice! Although, I am not a full english breakfast expert, so take that recommendation with a pinch of salt. Ill make it a point of coming back to try more of their menu.
I liked the interior design of the restaurant, but the servants were rude and impolite.
The atmosphere, service and food at The Oxley makes it my favourite place to dine at in Yorkville. Shout out to our server Emily who treated us like VIPs and made our night. We ordered the scallops and halibut which was a special on the menu and had the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert (an absolute must). Ive always loved the atmosphere and fireplace at The Oxley, great for catching up with friends and youll find you spend many hours there from the ambience it gives. Best place to go for Christmas brunch as well - we will always be back!
The decor and drink selection is good, but the food is GOOD. Felt like royalty eating the lamb sirloin, it was so hearty and the sauce was just right. My friend had the duck breast with bacon and celery sauce, and he kept talking about how perfect it was. It looked perfect too -- all the entrees are beautifully presented, and generously portioned. And very reasonably priced for an upscale dining spot. If you book the curtained-off back area, point out the William Morris wallpaper and read up on the British Arts and Crafts movement so youll look cultured for your guests :) Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately it is super inaccessible -- stairs to enter, stairs to the bathrooms downstairs.
I frequent this establishment. It is the greatest pub in Toronto on my scorecard. The atmosphere is cozy and pub-like, the decor resembles any British Gastro pub with the exception of the terrible sad 90s heartbreak playlist. The music needs to be happier. The food is 11/10 however they lack flourless chocolate cake. I bring clients here, I come here with dates, I will support this establishment forever even though they need better music and cake.
Very bland food and expensive. Wouldnt go again
Great local spot. Good eats and drinks. Fancy pub food. Nice ambiance.
LOVE taking my clients and new tourists to Toronto here. Very classy, old English/Scottish vibes. Their PITHIVIER dish is to die for -- savoury, delicious and keeps you coming back for more. This place is a pub classic for Yorkville-goers with some modern dishes too. Lots of seating outside for patios and positive, fun ambience.
The drinks were delicious but the service was questionable; two different servers were taking our orders and one would continuously scold us for ordering with his co-worker saying it was his table. Don t blame the customer for internal work conflict! Would definitely come back bc the drinks and vibe was great, but the internal issues need to be sorted out.
Its not the best that you can get in yorkville when it comes to brunch their menu needs to change the taste definitely doesnt match the price, I am not sure how their night ambiance is, I will keep you posted if I ever try it.
Love the real ale
3 cask ales! Plus crafts...
The service at this place on a quiet Sunday afternoon was so bad that, after waiting ANOTHER twenty minutes, for another couple of beers--not exactly a challenging order--having waited 25 minutes for our first drinks, or even some water--we just cancelled them and left. The first time I had to GO and tell the waitress we were there--on a mostly empty back patio. (She also didnt know how to open a bottle of wine at the neighbouring table--maybe the struggle was so great that we were rendered invisible) I know I know, its hard to get good help these days, but this was lack of training and basic restau organization. And the kale and date salad was a joke: there was a dessicated sliver of date in some shredded kale drizzled with oil.
Worst pub in Toronto. Staff beyond rude and terrible service.
Great location. Good service
the bartenders were super nice and friendly! some downsides however: they were hosting a private event so the only seating left was at the bar as the patio seats were filled as well. i recommend that you call and ask beforehand for seating arrangements. food was good (toe rags dish was surprisingly good despite its name) & beer was alright, wish it was more chilled though. they also forgot a dish from our order so that was unfortunate.
Really poor quality food for what you pay for. $30 burger. Should be decent. Not at all. Even the fish and chips tasted bad. Another $30. I think you re paying for the location only to douche yourself and eat in yorkville. Never again.
Great as always
I was at the Oxley on Saturday with friends. I am a Celiac with other allergies to compound my difficulties at finding a restaurant to eat in. I mentioned it to the manager, who told me to talk to our server when ready to order. I looked at the menu, and I could not find anything that would work for me. The chef suggested something off menu, that was delicious, and the best part was that I had no reaction afterwards. I hardly recommend the Oxley. They are happy to work with you and make sure that you feel welcomed.
We came here for brunch and got the English breakfast and eggs Benedict. The food was okay and a bit pricey considering the eggs Benny didn t come with any sides. The atmosphere and service were great though. We were seated outside in the back, which had a nice, cozy feel and the service was excellent.
Great service, nice flavorful meals, compartmentalization of space for a different variety of vibes. Nice!
Cold beers, excellent food and very good service. Order the Ribs, they are delicious!!
Excellent lamb burger. Fantastic Cask Ales!
Great cocktail!!! Its like Provence summer in a glass! Thanks to the suggestion from our wonderful waitress!!
Had the lamb burger, it was very very good! Their fries are amazing!
The food is really well done here, and so are the cocktails. They have 5 gin cocktails that you must try.
sad that the only time I went, the kale in the salad was spoiled and smelled strongly of sulphur. It was also shredded very finely so impossible to consume with a fork.
Took forever to even get a server to come to us. Were between lunch and dinner service at 4pm as well as having 27 dollar fish and chips thats 30+ with tax for fish and tatoes. Walked out before I ordered
Brunch... boom
I always have a great experience when I go to The Oxley. This time was no different. I brought my mother and brother here for her birthday. She had the schnitzel, and she said that it was good. If you knew my Mom, you would know that that was an amazing compliment. I had the char, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to the whole team at The Oxley!
This is a great pub been here a few times. Prepare to pay more however the renovation looks great and the experience is worth it. Potentially my favourite spot in Yorkville.
Go on your way. Pithiviers is actually a gratin dauphinois wrapped in half-cooked dough. All served cold and for the modest sum of $28!
Never disappoints!
Great steak. Great food
Service was bad. Our waiter forgot pretty much everything and what she didn t forget she spilled on us. Don t know what happened to this place, the food was good either. Shame. Used to be a good spot.
Wow happened The Oxly, I walked in got seated by your team. Waited patiently for service, and then unfortunately had to leave due to no service. (Restaurant had 6 people inside). I would reccomend Hemingways
Great fish and chips!
Best fish and chips Ive had outside of the UK.
Fantastic local pub with traditional escalated British pub fare in a beautiful location. Pub staff (as well as the owner) were very friendly and personable making the visit quite memorable. Certainly worth coming back to in the future. Fab joint.
Great little spot in Yorkville with a front and back patio. The staff was excellent. Very friendly.
Great atmosphere we were there on a lively Saturday night. The food was really great I had the cottage pie and I had steak tartar . I would definitely order them again. The service was a good but it was busy and sometimes took some time to get a drink. The washrooms were only ok. As with a lot of places there is only a craft beer Selection on tap which I do not like as I think it all tastes very hoppy and am glad to see the fad of craft beer somewhat diminishing . All in all highly recommended
their local dry stout is better than any guinness in any other pub. the staff is helpful, nice and quick and the interior is amazing. the mix gives a place you want to spend a lot of time in. and money. would definitely recommend! Kid-friendliness: Id guess its not kid-friendly (a very good thing !)
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food and drinks perfect for the pub.
Love this place. Great food & service
Nice little spot in Yorkville. Unfortunately, this place is very small and tables are too close together. The volume was so loud in the restaurant we asked to be moved to the front section by the fireplace. I expected prices to reflect the quality of the food but it fell below my expectations. I was excited to try the Scotch Egg which is what I came for but I ve had better experiences. Even the pigs in a blanket $11 I ordered didn t manage to improve the experience. Drinks took so long to be delivered despite the fact that we were sitting right in front of the bartender at the bar. To be fair, I didnt try anything else other than the starters so Ill give it another try.
Got a piece of metal from the food. Terrible experience
Great experience, quality and classic English pub food. Service is very friendly and kid friendly. Kid-friendliness: Let our young kids eat PBJ sandwiches we brought while mom and dad had a proper meal. Needs more kid options imo.
Very disappointing experience. Historically, I ve always enjoyed the Oxley. Although service was good, food was terrible. Beers and wine on menu not available. Coke tasted like water. Fish and chips was not made fresh, tasteless, super greasy and mostly batter. Not likely to visit or recommend again.
Sunday funday
Great pub, extremely good food for a pub. I had the rabbit , very rustic and enjoyable
True British experience
Cozy, homy, warm place. Perfect if youre going on a date or you need to talk. Its quiet and romantic.
The service was premium, and The ambiance is lovely. Six of us dined, half of us loving our food in the other half feeling slightly underwhelmed. Would I return and try something else? Sure! Because the service made our whole experience
Nice cute pub vibes. We had gone there for brunch and the place had filled up pretty quickly. The pub is smaller than most restaurants so it s a bit tight but the food and atmosphere were good. They did well to accommodate my 10 month old baby as well. As it was a busy smaller place, it gets a bit loud and our waiter had a hard time hearing us so we had to repeat things a couple time. Overall it was a good experience
Delicious food. Wonderfully warm and cozy ambiance. Great staff, as they are super attentive and informative without being overbearing. Down to earth manager who really cares about the customers and treats them in a warm and sincere manner. Cant wait to go back!
Noisy. Food not worth the price.
