707 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4J 1L2, Canada
Authentic Greek fair with daily specials based on seasonal produce and gluten free options. Extensive Wine list with focus on Greek Wines. Welcome to Athens...Welcome Home...
The food was absolutely delicious, it was my first time being there but will definitely come back. More important, the staff and business owner!!!’ Very nice people, very respectful!!! Highly recommend trying.
The pork belly was so tender and flavorful. The souvlakis were very good, the chicken is good but the pork souvlaki is one of the best I’ve ever had, super juicy and flavorful. The octopus was nice. This place was strongly recommended by a Danforth-based Greek friend and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Will definitely come back.
We had dinner there on the patio. The service is incredible. They are very attentive. We didn't get inside, but the vibes from outside gave us the feeling of being a popular place between Greek people. The food is not bad. We got soutzoukakia and fetta in phyllo. The meat was juice, and the fetta go with honey well.
Originally my husband and I thought we just walked into a another Greek restaurant. Turn out this is a such a low key family restaurant with such a great service! All of the food were suggested by Zeeno, they were all delicious! I will keep this restaurant into my pocket list for sure.
Writing this review on August 27, 2024. We called during the day to book for a reservation for 6 guests to be seated at 7:30pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. I left my name and my number. It was nearing 7:57 pm and we have not been seated yet. This was an important dinner as we had my god mother and my uncle visit from Maryland, Baltimore U.S. We were notified that we would be sat at 5 minutes. Moreover 2 of our guests have arrived early before 7:30pm. We have not been seated nor given a heads up that the wait would be longer than 15 minutes. We were seated at 7:57pm. I was quite disheartened and albeit a bit angry because we called for reservation for 7:30pm. It was quite hot outside over 23 degrees Celsius and our visitors were waiting outdoors in heat. This was an important night as we had relatives come visit Toronto from Maryland, U.S.A. and wanted to try Mediterranean cuisine. The service at the beginning was slow to start. However, this quickly changed for the better when our server Andrei provided us the best experience, even though he knew that I wasn't pleased with the wait and service. The food and Andrei's attentive attitude shifted my experience differently. Thank you to the staff and Andrei for turning the experience around. My only criticism is: wanting to be seated in a timely manner isn't too hard and the food came out a bit late. We should have been notified that 8:00pm was seating time. Other than that, it's nit picking. The kitchen did a great job. Good work, Athens restaurant. Amazing food.
I have walked pass this restaurant hundreds of times and it’s always busy and full during dining time. I finally went in today and ordered lamb chops as many people recommended this dish on reviews. The lamb meat was so tender and easily broke apart. The rice and potatoes were well seasoned and tasty. The bread was crunchy outside and soft inside. The servers were all friendly. I was happy with my choice. I will go back to try a different dish next time. Highly recommended!
Great lunch experience and I understand why this place is often identified as the best Greek resturant in the City. I had the moussaka - lots of flavour, very hearty and warming dish. Partner had a salad with chicken souvlaki, which I tried. Chicken was still juicy and gotta love the charr flavour. Will come back!
A Greek gem on The Danforth! Been here twice within 2 weeks, certainly a hit with everyone I came with especially with my father(who is quite picky). The village salad was excellent, grilled octopus tentacles full of flavour- perfectly grilled. The pork, chicken and lamb souvlaki great flavour was moist and tender not greasy. Also dips were so so fresh tasting. Having tried all their varieties I can say they are all good. Oh yes the sausage with orange zest was very nice and different. I found the Mythos paired very well with our food. Service was great friendly and helpful. Empty dishes and water glasses were taken care of efficiently and they were busy as well. Certainly a Greek restaurant I would highly recommend! Great vibe and experience 👍
Food is delicious, space is tight. The food is served quickly and on a busy night but the staff will be hurrying you out to get another table in (even with a reservation). Don t expect to sit longer than an hour if you are having dinner!
Delicious traditional Greek food
Amazing food fairly portioned. The salad is so good! Chicken felt fresh. Great service!
We just recently got back from Greece so wanted to try this place out. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really good but a bit pricey (I guess its the case everywhere these days though). The moussaka wasnt as great as I had it in Greece but it was still well made. My husband had veal and rice which he really enjoyed.
The food was great, but the waiter was impatient and rude when one of our dishes did not come out. When given the option for pita or garlic bread for the table, we were not made aware that theyd cost extra; as well as an extra charge for chili oil or sauce.
To any of my TTC coworkers I highly recommend Athens restaurants phenomenal food Service is exceptional we had the lamb chops. The best Ive ever had.
Really have to wait alot , very aggressive staff and many times serve wrong food
Athens Restaurant is one of my favourite Greek restaurants in Toronto, located in the heart of Toronto s Greektown on Danforth. It offers a cozy inside seating as well as patio on the sidewalk in the summer. The dishes here use simple ingredients and seasoning like EVOO, but offer a lot of flavour that fulfills all my desire to Greek food. I would recommend the Village Salad and Grilled Calamari, which are my favourite here at Athens Restaurant! Taste: 4/5 | Service: 3/5 | Value: 4/5
It reminds me of Greece, the food is perfect
Add some grilled calamari to Uber !
Second to none! Fanatic food and vibe!. Opa!
WOW JUST WOW!! ONE OF THE BEST GREEK RESTAURANT AND QUALITY OF MEATS I HAVE HAD. GEORGE AND THE STAFF WERE SO FRIENDLY AND LOVELY. REAL FAMILY VIBES. THE REAL STAR OF THE DINNER WAS THE ONE OF A KIND BEET SALAD!!! LAST MENTION THANKS TO EDUARDO (SECOND CUP DANFORTH) FOR THIS AMAZING RECOMMENDATION!
Never visit this restaurant they are racist and discrimination against other ethnicities. I was being harassed by their staff.
Following TikTok recommendations we went for dinner at this restaurant. All the dishes were delicious, the service was fast and courteous. The prices were reasonable. We will come again and recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Thank you
This is one of my favourites Greek places in town! The food is so so good!
Incredible place in Greek village Toronto, waiters and the owner are very friendly, food is amazing, prices is affordable for a city like Toronto. I ll definitely come back. Wee story: the chef is offering dishes from all around Greece and know the story of each one.
Extremely over rated and arrogant staff !! Didnt like even the taste Try not to go on Weekends !!
Family style runned restaurant, very homey and unassuming feel. What I need to know WHERE DO THEY SOURCE THEIR FETA WOWWWW its so creamy!!! Chicken soulvaki was so succulent juicy with nice char. Grilled calarmari was tender and flavourful and fresh. OPA! get the saganaki I should also mention this meal was better than most places in Greece.
Very tasty food. The feta wrapped in phyllo with honey on it is amazing. Their recommendations were great. Will definitely be back. Skimpy portions on the dips at $7 each is my only real complaint.
Such great authentic Greek food.
Overall favourite Greek restaurant on the danforth. If you re in a group, definitely recommend sharing plates.
Absolutely fantastic. Waiters were super friendly. The food was awesome.
As a Greek who worked in a Greek butcher shop I used to see the owner come in and buy lamb chops, feta , olives and other authentic Greek imports. First time trying and everything was amazing! The lamb chops are so succulent and juicy it was unreal, the mezze and calamari are world class! All I was missing is a Mediterranean Sea breeze
Great Greek food. Best on the Danforth. Roast lamb the way to go
The best Greek food on the Danforth (in my opinion)! The chicken is really good quality, the potatoes are soft and delicious and love the ambience!
The atmosphere was excellent, but they were the worst chicken wings I have ever eaten.
Vegetarian options: They can always customize Food
Food
Best Greek place in Toronto. Meatball soup Highly recommended Food
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.
The best Greek food in Toronto A must visit Food
The food is ok service is garbage we had a waitreess name Andrea she took an hour to bring us the bill and with attitude too Food
The freshest and tastiest,Greek food on the Danforth, in my opinion. Had the pleasure of having dinner with two other guests. We ordered all appetizers and salad. Definitely order the Spread sampler, Biftekia, Panseta, Prasini Salata, chicken souvlaki skewers, zucchini fries, two bottles of Greek wine and Karithopita for dessert. It was more than enough food. All the food here is cooked to order and takes time to prepare, but worth it.
Most authentic greek food. Great experience great service.
It feels like you are in Greece when you go there! Their food is good and they are pretty nice! Vegetarian options: They have a few Greek food options that have no meat. Kid-friendliness: Every time we go there, there are families there with kids so yes they are kid friendly!
Very noisy place Grilled seabass was burnt Food
Great food & atmosphere! We ordered gyro s with a plate of fries and the lamb chops. Our family is Greek, so we wanted to see if the food here was truly authentic. We were so surprised by the great quality of the food, it was almost like we were transported back to Greece. Beautiful!
I cant believe Ive never been here before. This place is cozy and amazing. The food is absolutely amazing. The staff is very helpful. Its great to see the owner present during open hours and making sure everyones doing well. Will definitely go back here again.
Tasty food, generous portion, clean and nice dining environment. Peas with potato was very rich and good to go with bread. Village Lamb is the best lamb I have tried so far in Toronto. Lamb is well cooked and rich in taste. Moussaka is good also. We dropped by for the first time but will definitely come back. Update after few visits. A great place for lamb. They have land special of a day over weekend or certain weekdays. Have tried their lamb special few times, never got disappointed. Village Lamb is their signature for sure. House wine is good. You are not able to get it anywhere else unfortunately. Service is great and the owner is nice.
Best Greek food in Toronto! Great service too!
We come here once or twice a MONTH! They offer the best comfort food. Absolutely delicious. I m a true loyal customer and will continue! Big food portions, amazing waiters! Just a wonderful experience at all times!
Absolutely no doubt the best Greek restaurant in the city and beyond. The only place that serves food as they do in Greece.
This is my favourite Greek restaurant. I have been going to this place for the past 3 years. The owner is always there and will definitely treat you to free drinks! He is the best host and you can feel the Greek atmosphere the moment you get to the front door of the restaurant! Love it! Food
Good food. Had a good time. One of the best ever eaten so far.
The food was excellent and it was a bustling, gregarious experience. The dips and saganaki are a must to start. Entree portions are big, come hungry.
As a Danforther for life, this is the best Greek food in Toronto and it s not even close. Mammakis is great but doesn t hold a candle. Seriously - a special spot.
The best Greek place with excellent service!
Simply the best Greek food in Canada! 5 stars all the way. Food so good, it makes me proud to be Greek!
Food was SO good, the service was great and the vibes were immaculate. We had a great meal here and would 100% come back. The ouzo shots on the house from the owner were the cherry on top. Lovely family run business and I can see why it s a neighborhood staple
High quality ingredients. Delicious.
This place is probably one of the best greek places in Toronto, The atmosphere is great the portions are big and the servers are polite. Whenever I want to bring someone to the danforth I alway bring them here
Very fresh, delicious food. Great value.
Disappointing food and service, and too expensive for a traditional Greek restaurant. Small, noisy, unwelcoming, and an overall unpleasant dining experience. Food, service and prices used to be good here, but not any more.
Shared moussaka and the usual Greek pork souvlaki. Both were excellent and good portions. Comes with fresh warm bread and a small greek salad. The pork was very tender but would have preferred more lemon on the potatoes. Of course the souvlaki comes with a dollop of tzatziki which wasn t enough so we asked for more. This showed up as an additional $2 on the bill. Also had a dessert, a custard phyllo dessert of substantial size with a huge scoop of ice cream. Delicious. Service was super friendly.
The Greek salad was delicious. But the other foods we tried werent delicious. The high price does not match the quality of the food.
The ultimate Greek food experience
We were a group of 9, and thats about half the seating in the restaurant. We were seated right below the amplifier that was playing for the whole restaurant. Sitting below it was sooo loud that we couldnt hear each other speak. A while later a group of 6 guys sat close by, equally loud. One of us finally asked the staff, or maybe it was the manager/owner to turn down the music, and he flatly refused. You would think they would do better to make it a pleasant experience for the group of diners, especially when they are giving you so much business.
Athens is one of the Top Greek restaurants on The Danforth. The place is small with village feels. The staff is very busy and accommodating. We love the menu and wonderful traditional options. We opted for a saganaki, large salad, and 3 pork sticks. The pork was perfect, we definitely will be back There is patio seating in the summer.
The food was really good. We got some souvlaki dinners, gyro dinner and some apps. The service was really good as well. The restaurant is kind of small but really busy so it does tend to get loud but busier the better I guess.
The food was subpar. The dips were tiny and the moussaka did not taste authentic like other restaurants on the Danforth. One waiter was so sparky and it ruined our experience. We were sitting beside the speaker that was playing music, quite loud. My grandmother asked if they could turn it down but the waiter said hed do what he can, and ended up doing nothing. Another waiter happily turned it down just for the other guy to turn it back up. It had to be intentional and he was a jerk about it. We were there before 6pm, so youd think it wouldnt be such a big favor to ask. We didnt tip the guy he was so rude. Considering this restaurant is in Greektown I recommend trying other restaurants before coming to Athens.
great service, yummy food.
The fish soup here is delicious!!
The food was amazing. No question about that. We had 2 children with us (6 of us total) it was noisy, and we were right under a speaker. Service started slowly, but we were pre-warned that we had to leave by 6 ( made reservations for 4:30) Pricey meal, charged for substitutions, bit inflexible in that regard. The food was amazing. Food
Probably the best Greek restaurant in Canada. Literally tastes just like back home in Greece. Only downside was the grumpy looking waiter
Cooked to perfection and tzatziki to die for! Small, intimate and authentic Greek.
We have been her several times over the years, the food is fresh and always consistently delicious. The service is top notch! The owner is always there he is the second generation, a family business that has been on the Danforth for decades. It is a very small restaurant so its best to make reservations, especially on the weekends. Love this place, I highly recommend it.
Welcome to real Greek food We at royal cuts barbershop always recommend the best Thank you Athens Restaurant for making us feel home
Really good saganaki! Their portions are huge
Best Greek Food in the city hands down!
Best place in town!
OMG so much good food
Food and service was great! I really enjoyed the lamb, the fat was so nicely rendered. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes! Parking: Green-P lot on Pape just south of Danforth on West-side.
The food was impeccable, I haven t seen service like this in years and felt like I was in Greece!
Authentic greek food! Nice service too, servers are all friendly!
Great Greek restaurant . We really enjoyed the Octopus, Gyro plate and Musaka. Waitress was very friendly and we had great time . For sure we will be back Food : 5/5 |
I went with my boyfriend and it was such an amazing dinner that we plan to go back soon. My boyfriend has lived on the Danforth his whole life and says this is the best Greek restaurant he s ever tried. The village salad and village lamb are must-trys.
Recommend, a must stop for Greek food. Small location but gives you that sense of being in your dining room at home. Great food, great service, check it out!!
Great quality of meat and excellent service!
My partner and I had a delicious impromptu dinner here. The atmosphere is lively, friendly, and familial. I ve never been to Greece, but it feels as if I just landed there. Lots of people speaking Greek and upbeat Greek music on the speakers. We were only two people and were able get a table without a reservation, but I saw other small parties turned away after we arrived. Next time I ll definitely make a reservation.
Place looked really nice but we left due to the bad customer service. The two severs on shift were extremely rude and unwelcoming. Too bad they ruined our experience and we didn t get a chance to try the food. Atmosphere looked good though.
Went here for my husbands birthday, we had a reservation for 8pm, however we were not seated until 8:50pm. As we were a party of 7 we could not find anywhere else to go on a Saturday night. There was no apology for the wait and nothing comped on the bill. The customer service was unfortunate, we usually go to Pantheon and wanted to try something new, safe to say we will not be returning here as reservations were not honoured and nothing was done about it, super disrespectful. The food was good- some people did not enjoy there meals, but some items were good, but go to Pantheon for better service and equally as good of food.
Excellent food and services!
10/10 meal! Ambience was incredible. Coming back 100%! Andreas and Xeno were awesome.
AVOID! If you wanna get treated like absolute SCUM of the earth then Athens is your place ! Booked a reservation for my birthday as I ve ate here before a year ago and had a great experience. However, tonight I had a reservation for 8:30 and not one server ( including the owner ) attempted to seat us. We waited until 9 pm and eventually left. Unless you know the owner personally then don t bother coming. Absolutely DISGUSTING treatment and you guys completely ruined my night.
George showed us a 10/10 experience. I ve never had a better platter of meat in my life. The tzatziki ruled to. Well done Athens
My partner and I shared a late night snack in the form of a sausage that we ordered from here after coming home for the night. It must have been left out all day on a counter or something because we both became incredibly sick that night and spent the weekend recovering from our food poisoning.
Chris and Valentino were amazing!! The food was so good
Excellent greek food
Hands down the best, most authentic Greek food you ll find in the city. You can dress up or go casual, it s a fun and loud but intimate atmosphere. Wait times can be a little longer when they don t have their patio however, service is amazing. My favourite dishes are the gemista and George s salad. I don t eat lamb but apparently they are incredible! Oh and for desert, a must try is the Ekmek, it s imported from Athens, to die for!! Bravos! Vegetarian options: Mezze, spanakopita, domaldes, saganaki, gemista, salads, veges on a pita, lots more!
Expensive for portion size and quality. I ordered a souvlaki wrap and it literally had the most measley slice of tomato and sprinkling of onion. My friend ordered one of the specials and it was luke warm and underwhelming. There are better places to go.
Customer service was so rude! Didn t like it. The guy was behaving so badly! Don t recommend here!
Absolutely nowhere better to go eat greek for miles, Ive eaten in a lot of the places in and around danforth & surrounding areas, I like to try different places. I live very close so Ive eaten at a lot of the restaurants. If youre looking to go eat on danforth dont waste your time looking around trying to decide, this is by far the best around, trust this without a doubt from a Greek, I know food & yes it shows. There are plenty of 3.5/4 places to eat at,but you dont want 3.5/4 right? Athens is a true 5 plus. We loved everything, we never order an app or 2 and then a dinner for each person we always order lots of things to be brought to the table to share, everything we ordered we loved. This was not my first visit to Athens, but it was for my family & now its their 1 and only go to for when we go out for Greek.
Food was so flavorful, hot, and fresh. Fun environment. Music is a nice touch and our server Chris was friendly, prompt, attentive and informative. Great value. You wont be disappointed. Lisa
coming here for a decade now :)
Weekly Sunday visits to the Danforth of the 90s were a staple of my childhood. My parents having gone for even longer. I have such fond memories of Greektown growing up, which, sadly, began to crumble sometime in the 2000s. By the early 2010s, the strip was merely a shell of its former self, with once respectable, decent, eateries, now only remaining the same in name, but clearly with new (or just now indifferent) management, the quality dwindling as rapidly as gentrification expanded. Of the few old names to remain on the strip, it was just one disappointing experience after another for me- its quite clear they only survive because of a faithful old client base, relying on yesterdays successes to carry them into the future. I had all but given up on the Danforth Greek food scene, when I saw Athens mentioned by several folks as being the one last stand; a glimpse into how great things used to be here. And Im so glad that I didnt let my other experiences cloud my openness as far as trying a new (to me) spot, because Athens has immediately redeemed my perception of Danforths standing. Granted, its just one restaurant out of many, but its so great that Ill be making treks down from where I live, in the 905, just to dine here. Im surprised that neither my parents nor I had heard of it over all those years at dining on the strip, though we never ventured out that far, even if its just a couple blocks east of our usual spots back then. In any case, Im so glad to have now discovered this place, and visited twice in a couple of days, it was that great. Im a big believer in small details, so as soon as the complimentary bread hit our table, paired with the olive oil and balsamic, I could tell this was going to be quality. Further, when the side village salad which accompanied my main was delivered ahead of the dish, I was sold that this was a top notch spot. The salad, which utilizing relatively few ingredients, clearly utilizes the utmost highest quality produce, cheese, and so on- Ive never been so wowed by such a relatively simple salad. The saganaki was fantastic of course, as was every last dish we had. From the pork belly to the grilled calamari, the gyros, the garlic bread with feta, souvlaki (chicken and pork), rack of lamb, moussaka, and the items off the homestyle menu (which is unique to this place as far as I know, and alone a massive reason to come here). Everything was perfectly seasoned, bursting with flavour and freshness. Portions very generous, presentation on point. For desert, do not leave without having the bougatsa! Its the best Ive had in the city. Service is incredibly warm, genuine, and attentive- couldnt ask for better folks. The spot is definitely on the smaller side and can feel slightly cramped with a larger party, but I think it really adds to the overall vibe/character- really awesome on a weekend evening with the Greek music playing and the dimmer lights. Almost like a mini getaway in your own city. Prices are not the lowest, and it adds up if you order several apps and such, but honestly, for the quality, I have no qualms forking up. So thrilled to have discovered this place, and cannot wait for all of my future visits, with lots of items yet to be tried on the menu. Nice to see theres stll a genuinely great Greek option on Greek street!
Really amazing teramousselata and great service
Amazing food and great service!
First time I tried moussaka and Im sure it is among the best on the Danforth. It tasted just as good as it looks. Never had tomatoes that good before. The Christmas decorations and music were perfect choices. I stayed a few min after my meal to take it in before I left. Perfect spot for a date! Dietary restrictions: Moussaka is gluten free
Great food and atmosphere. Ordered a large part of their menu to share with a group of people. Food was great. Service can be improved.
I stopped in for a traditional Greek avgolemono soup and was very happy with the wonderful taste and quantity. The tables were somewhat crowded and do not give you must room. The distance between my table for two with the next was less than 12. Overall, excellent food and service. Could do with removing a few tables.
Probably one of my favourite restaurants on the Danforth. Food is always amazing and I never leave disappointed. Prices are reasonable and portions are big. Highly recommend
Very Authentic. Great food! Good vibes.
Excellent food and service, lamb was great and so was the Soutsoukakia very good ambience as well Recommended dishes
Excellent food, happy service staff, clean and spacious bathrooms. Restaurant itself is a bit tight in terms of space, and parking on the Danforth is always a pain. But the food here makes up for it. Reservations recommended. Food
Great Greek food
Everything was great! I love the intimacy of this restaurant and how fast the food is delivered and the amazing quality! The chicken souvlaki was so moist, potatoes my fav. Rice was great and flavourful. Spreads were amazing. I can t believe how full we were so fast Kid-friendliness: Diaper change space in the washroom
Amazing experience every time I visit here. Especially the owner George!!!! I brought my friends to have dinner together and he made it soooooo special. We all had an amazing time by beyond and above customer service.
Vegetarian options: Great selection Food
One of the best gyros on the Danforth. OMG. Their lamb main was also exceptionally good. New favorite
Yummy spinach feta swirls :) the cherry Danish was not my favourite but still good.
Best lamb chops and service!
My first time trying Greek food and I was 100% satisfied, flavourful and awesome service!
Delicious, 10/10 recommend as our Greek friend told us this is the only place she still goes to on the danforth
Dietary restrictions: These folks are very accommodating- nut allergy + lactose not an issue. Food
Stuffed peppers were delicious
Great food
Very poor and rude customer service.
Service with an attitude.
Very good food
Bad costumer service, rude manager, dirty kitchen.
From seafood to lamb chops every bite is a taste to savour. It was my first time at Athens and the owner George made me feel right at home. Dont miss this gem! Food
Athens is among the top 2 greek restaurants on the Danforth. The dining experience is consistently excellent, every member of the staff works hard and go the extra mile to be helpful. The menu boasts with a wide variety of authentic delicious flavours. Having tried many dishes, I can confidently recommend all of them. The lamb chops, souvlaki, veal kokkinisto, lamb kleftiko, saganaki, gemista to name just a few. And dont forget to order the dips as an appetizer.
excellent food and great atmosphere.
A wonderful dining experience. Our table ordered several different dishes and each one was delicious. Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs down to washrooms.
Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Arguably 1 of the best Greek meals I ve had in Toronto. There deserts are fantastic as well. It s a smaller restaurant, so I would recommend to make reservations prior to going in especially if you are a bigger group.
This Chinese guy loved it Village lamb all day every day
If you want superior greek food + amazing atmosphere + the best service - forget every other spot on the danforth, they wish they could be half as good as this place - honestly
If youre looking for that ultimate Greek authentic experience, put this place on your list of places you must eat, George and his friendly staff are efficient and customer service oriented. 6 out of 5 , you guys definitely over exceeded my expectations!! OPA!!! Food
As authentic as it gets! The food is beyond excellent especially if you order from the traditional dishes menu. I definitely recommend trying as many as possible. The village lamb is a stand-out but you cant go wrong with the octopus and the Saganaki. The place is very homie and warm perfect for a group dinner!
Made a reservation and showed up early but restaurant was packed and waited 30 mins standing next to the coat rack. Restaurant did not offer any complimentary drinks or food as an apology. The food and service was not bad but the overall experience was terrible.
10/10 greek food in Toronto!! If you are looking for authentic, great-tasting greek food - this is the place to go!
Great traditional Greek restaurant. Food was excellent. Lots of different options especially if looking to try traditional Greek dishes but there are also common dishes as well. Service was great and friendly, definitely recommend.
Amazing greek food in Toronto hands down! Starting from the different spreads to the souvlaki and finally the lamb chops!!!!!!
Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Owner treated my friend and I to shots. Every person there was having the best time. Food was phenomenal, just out of this world, especially the fried Calamari. Atmosphere was unlike anything I ve ever experienced at a restaurant in this city. What more is there to say? This is a world class restaurant. My biggest thanks and praise, felt like I got to go to Greece for a couple hours. Will be back with lots more friends!
Great food, excellent service!
First and foremost the food was delicious. We were there with a party of 19 for an engagement gathering for a wonderful young couple named Troy and Alex, and we tried several different appetizers which were amazing, especially the grilled octopus which was mouth watering, but we also had several other appetizers where you could use them as a spreads and put them on grilled pitas or bread which they brought out and what stood out for me in particular was the Kafteri or spicy cheese in English, was delicious. For dinner I had the homemade moussaka which was also delicious, but its unfortunate that it doesnt come with any sides no potatoes no salad none of that, you get just a mousaka and thats it which is rare, Ive never seen that before in a restaurant they usually give you a couple of sides with it like potatoes and salad for example. I also tried my wife s pork souvlaki on a pita and that was delicious too, I like the fact that they dont overcook the pork like almost every other Greek restaurant does because it dries it out and it tastes horrible when they do that but these guys did not, it was done just right and it was moist and tender. Now having said all that its very expensive. I dont justify the pricing for the amount of food that they give you. Like the mousaka for $25 was not in line with pricing in other restaurants which also include a couple of sides with your meal. Also the octopus was $30 and it was only one octopus leg and other places give you two to three octopus legs. So if youre looking to go there on a budget its not the place to go. But if budget is not an issue then the food is very tasty go for it, and its the only reason I didnt give it five stars because they lacked quantity. The service was good Im not going to complain about that, the food came out in a decent amount of time and the place has been there since 1975 so theyre doing something right. Will I go back again? Well, having been through Danforth where this restaurant is located hundreds of times over the past 5 decades I never even knew about them because its hidden just east of Pape on the south side of Danforth and the sign is pretty small and hard to read so its easily missed. But, I did like the food and yes I will be returning another time for sure.
the only Greek restaurant that should exist in Toronto. If it s not from Athens I don t want it! For real, Athens is the best, staff is great, food is great what more could you want?
Excellent staff. Very friendly and kind.
Quaint restaurant that took us back to Greece with its flavoursome and authentic Greek dishes. Everything is delightful, from appetizers to main dishes and dessert. Cant wait to go back!
New found Greek Gem! I recently discovered this place a few months ago from a recommendation of a friend. Turns out this restaurant has been around for 30 years or more and is by the far the best Greek restaurant Ive been to in a long time. Inside you really get the feeling of being in Greece, and the the owner and wait staff are all authentic Greeks who serve your standard and traditional Greek dishes you may have never seen before. I will mention that the restaurant is not very large inside and has limited seating, but is well worth the wait. If you plan on going try to call ahead and book a reservation as it does get busy. Sincerely, Issac Jirjis Kid-friendliness: Very nice to children.
This place is on our top of the list. We come here a lot. It is so good that I always forget to take pictures
Great Greek restaurant. We enjoyed every dish served and are planning to return. Bon apetit.
