All time favorite restaurant in the city! I live for C42; stir fried beef with the softest buns ever. BBQ is always cooked to perfection. We have a membership card for this place! It's one of the few halal options for Chinese food. It's an Uyghur restaurant so it's a blend of cultures that shows in their interiors, the crowd and the food. This was my first stop after a surgery so make what you will about the restaurant based on that :D
The tofu skewers are sooo freaking good. It's super crispy and has a sweetness to the seasoning that really makes these sooo freaking tasty. I would highly recommend ordering this. Lots of other tasty options, as well. Including: Chinese croutons in lamb soup, potato skewers, and the Chinese broccoli.
Modern restaurant. Food is good. Trying new spices and lamb for Northern Chinese cuisine. Got some skewers and fried rice. Nice cacophony of flavours. The lunch special was ok. Too much oil in the dish and can't believe the veggies were dried corn and broccoli. The location in Markham is way better but it's a franchise. Able to split the bill. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff
This place is a hidden gem! Everything was fresh and delicious and served so quickly! We ordered the noodles with chicken, beef fried rice, and the hot and sour soup. Would deffo recommend!
Another one of my favs during our Toronto visit. Was brought here by a friend of a friend from back home. I had eaten before we went and wasn’t that hungry but… they ordered some stuff for our table and all of it was super! It was all so wonderful that I went back two days later with my son for a quick lunch. Man o man do I ever wish we had more time and or more belly space cause there was still so much more I wanted to try 😁. Anyway needless to say you have to go!
Their salt egg shrimp is good; they are fresh, peeled, and deveined. Portions are decent, too; I did not expect that many with its price. However, I don't like the fried rice. I like this type of fried rice, no soy sauce, but it is bland, and the sausage is also salty. The service is not a friendly type, but it is fast, can answer questions, and is available when needed.
It is an excellent place to visit, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Chinatown Toronto. Highly recommend the soup 肚包肉、 凉皮、 烧烤、 the rest was delicious as well. I definitely will come back again. The food is excellent, and the portions are big. The taste is authentic, as it is in China Village.
For me and my wife, this place has become a favourite dinning spot. It’s got authentic Chinese food that’s halal for people who have such dietary restrictions. We love our spicy foods, this place has a menu packed with that. If you can’t do spicy, the server can tone it down for you. I recommend the beef kabobs on skewers or any beef dish, it’s the way they prep their beef that makes those dishes delicious. The service is fine, if not exceptional. If you order a few dishes, it can be pricey enough to come close to $90 even for two people. It’s been a hit every time we have gone there, except our most recent outing, the noodles of our beef noodle soup was just a little too hard that day. Otherwise I will still stop by there just for their delicious beef dishes.
All dishes taste great!
Food made me sick.
My recent visit today was really disappointing. They added a 15% tip to my bill automatically, without mentioning it anywhere on the menu or letting me know beforehand. I only noticed it after I asked for the detailed bill, as they initially just gave me the total to pay. I feel like tipping should be my choice, not something the restaurant decides for me especially when the service didn t really deserve it. The server just took our order and brought the food, without checking in on us or making sure we had everything we needed. We had to keep asking for additional things ourselves. It s frustrating and honestly feels UNETHICAL. I really liked this place, but this experience has made me think twice about coming back. I hope they rethink this practice.
It s a place that both Westerners and Chinese like. The average person is in their 20s or 30s. It s economical and tastes pretty good among Xinjiang cuisines.
Very delicious. Very good service. I especially like the new dishes.
The best Big Plate Chicken (Da Pan Ji) in Toronto.
Amazing food, loved the experience, and the herbal tea is amazing. 9/10 would definitely visit again. -a Lebanese guy Food
The food was good, but felt a bit pricey. It is halal so that aspect is good. There was a group of 8-ish people who were very loud tho, and the waiters were aware but didnt do anything abt it. They also seem to need more tableware, as they likely ran otu of metal spoons and gave us plastic ones instead for some dishes. Dec 17 2024: brought like 25 brothers here to have halal food, very efficient, we enjoyed
Authentic west Asian Chinese food. My go to for family style Chinese food.
Ahhhhh fish-flavored eggplant stew with rice yyds The new little yellow croaker is also delicious hahaha There is also crab roe tofu, which surpasses the domestic taste Environmental services are very good
Tried a lot of lamb dishes here, all of them are so delicious!! If you like lamb, here is a good place to try!
Portion sizes are big. Food was good. Price was reasonable. The place is designed well. Packed with people when I went which is fun. It was open late. Service was fast. Id get a membership if I lived in Toronto!
Good Halal Chinese food. Serving sizes were large. Food & service authentic
Great experience
The fried rice was amazing, which many restaurants cannot accomplish! Restaurant is well maintained. Clean bathrooms. Most importantly halal! Dietary restrictions: Halal
If you want to eat meat, eat mutton, eat it while its hot. It will satisfy your craving and hunger, and youll have to come back again. Worth recommending.
Amazing food. Swift service. Tried and loved the skewers, dumplings, noodles and fried rice.
Quite easily some of the best food I ve ever eaten
Beware you guys HAVE TO PAY TIP!
Authentic, Halal, North Western Chinese Beef skewers and Lamb on stick Excellent taste Clean and spacious facility Will come again to try everything else
Food was great and the service was amazing. Came with some co-workers, would come again!
I haven t been to this store for a long time. Their service level is really good and friendly. They even took the initiative to pack the endless dishes for us. However, the dishes were too salty and the portions were huge!
Cuisine from Xinjiang, China. Many lamb dishes. Very clean dining room. Wheelchair accessibility: Basement level. Did not see wheelchair accessibility. Food : 5/5 |
I ordered from uber eats and had severe indigestion after eating their super oily smelly food. Would never ever order again.

Halal and spicy food. They are very responsive in terms of service and atmosphere is cozy and nice. Dietary restrictions: Halal food
Delicious food and good service.
Vegetarian options: They are excellent Food
Red willow mutton skewers and large plate chicken are recommended
Great food Great Service
This is a must- try if you like Mongolian and Xinjiang food! All the dishes were delicious and served with such a big portion. We especially liked the Dubaorou , which is lamb wrapped in tripes. These little guys are huge the lamb is so fresh and savoury, make sure you eat them with the soup! We didn t have any capacity left to try the barbecue menu but will definitely come back again.
Large BBQ based menu with a focus on Xinjiang and spicy cuisine. Highly recommend the lamb skewers and the BBQ cabbage! Overall the dishes were very flavourful, however our group found it to be a bit too oily and salty. Note: AMEX not accepted. They also have a VIP card that drastically decrease the price of the menu. 10% additional discount are available on your birthdays.
good place to go when u dont know what to get in dt, always worth it when going. The vip card also worth it as well since it is good for two years. Strongly recommend the soup in the place, but be aware that there eill be pork livers in the soup as well. Vegetarian options: yes Dietary restrictions: halal Kid-friendliness: yes Wheelchair accessibility: no
Im writing to share my disappointment with today s visit. The male server who attended us was unprofessional and unfriendly, which made the experience unpleasant. Additionally, the food quality has noticeably declined compared to previous visits. It makes me wonder if the chef has changed, as the flavors and presentation were not up to your usual standard. I m very disappointed and hope you address these issues to restore the quality and service I ve always appreciated at your restaurant.
The food here is delicious and no cross contamination as all their meat is halal. The food is delicious and great portions. Both times have been for weekday lunch and there is plenty of seating.
Really good food with great flavours and unique within Chinatown for the Xinjiang regional cuisine. Love that you can make reservations online and the staff are really friendly and efficient. Highly recommended and will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
It was a normal Chinese restaurant.
Toronto Halal Cuisine Western Region Restaurant 86 health limited set menu, Monday to Friday It feels like it s enough for 3-4 people, and the average person is 20+ 10.7-11.8 Lamb mutton skewers Their mutton skewers are really big, evenly fat and thin. Eat the meat in big mouthfuls. A la carte is also a must order at every table Blueberry yogurt cold cake Blueberry jam kiwi fruit old yogurt A mixture of three kinds of sourness, wrapped in hot glutinous rice The glutinous rice is steamed with chopped horns, and the portion is heavy. It s waxy and silky, like eating sour rice dumplings Beef tenderloin with lotus leaf cake Cumin beef tenderloin with six lotus leaf pancakes, a hint of onion and green pepper flavor The main thing is that the lotus leaf cake is soft and sweet. Stir-fried mutton with pulled strips You can also grab rice, but I love the oily noodles The hand-pulled strips are very chewy and covered in sauce please add spicy food perfect match Served with soup Winter Melon and Mushrooms in Pot Vegetarian stir-fry Xinjiang vegetarian stew
It is the worst place to eat when it comes to service. Simply horrible and very uncouth , rude and uncultured waiter . The food was okay . I would never come again in this place
Comfortable dining environment, hygienic and clean, good service attitude
The food is amazing and the amount you get for the price is absolutely worth it! Dietary restrictions: Its all halal!
Really good Chinese. Everything was fresh and delicious. I d come back for the bbq lamb skewers alone.. or the steamed bun with that golden gooey goodness inside
Very nice restaurant, great taste and friendly staff. Definitely a must go-to Chinese cuisine place.
Great food, great service, and generous portions. Ill definitely be back.
The food is a little bit pricy but I love the quality of the food. Its very good. I come here when Im with a friend and sometimes on my own. I did some take out here but I dont recommend it.
The large plate of chicken was like a pre-made dish. When ordering, the waiter said that the spiciness could not be adjusted. When I ate it, I found that the color of the chicken inside was very red. I felt uncomfortable in my stomach that night.
No complaints about the food, tendon skewers were outstanding, avoid beef skewers, like many Asian places, service not the best, pushy, and they ask you for the tip. Some Asian people have no shame when it comes to $.
One of my favourite halal Chinese restaurants. I love their food. I am a soup lover. If you want to try a different try of soup then you can order their Lamb Soup. I love it! They give good amount of food. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: Many grilled veggie options like Eggplants and Tofus.
Incredibly tasty. The bbq skewers are where its at. Thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned. A top recommendation for nightly bbq cravings.
Always bring new people here
Never went never in my life in a chinesse restaurant and there no hot sauce no spiracha . Food was not good at all not traditionnal at all . Disappointed
Love their fried rice! Service is okay!
The food is always good here I highly recommend it
Tasty halal authentic chinese food , spicey stir fry beef dish is good and fried rice
Amazing food, good atmosphere, 100% recommend
Great lunch specials and very generous with the grilled skewers.
Loved it. We had lamb and dill dumplings, pork, chicken, and crab dumplings, spicy potato salad, minced lamb with pancakes, and stir fried beef with cauliflower. They were all good. The potato salad had so much flavor. The beef and cauliflower was delicious. I highly recommend this place.
Me and my friends came here to eat and it was just amazing!!!! The taste was GREAT! Dietary restrictions: My friend has a peanut allergy. Simply alerted them and they accommodated for her
Very good halal original Chinese food. The beef served is specially good
We have been a regular customer at the restaurant and went there recently . We went their recently for a birthday celebration, and were extremely disappointed. The food was below average, the staff was least bothered about anything, feels like theyre overworked! Used to love this place but with the poor customer service and low food quality , wont recommend this place to anyone
the food were terrible very salty. And taste all the same. very disappointed
I was very happy to eat here today. The waiters were so considerate. They didn t have to ask for anything themselves. They would give it to those who had been there before. They even asked for napkins and the like.
Efficient service, reasonable price, nice and clean decoration, and good food.
Whats going on with this toilet door? Why is it so difficult? If theres no one in such a big shop to repair it, Ill pay for it.
Fantastic food and customer service. Needs wheelchair Accessibility.
Food is good, but There is a woman always asking for tips regardless she never served us. If that happened, just ignore her. A SB girl always asked for tips and she never served us. This isnt fine dining. Its really annoying to ask your boss to take good care of her.
The food is magical. The wife loves the dumplings. Beef jerky rice is interesting a good find. Menu is big and everything we have tried has been top tier. (We have been there around 5 times, and every time it hit). It is halal too! Plenty of seating, never had to wait. The street behind has free parking as well. Sign up for their membership plan and get some amazing deals too.
The place gives amazing foods with cozy interior. The food was delicious and hot served. We tried almost every item and menu was perfect to order
Now Just nah
Really nice place!
We loved this restaurant !!!! Everything s halal, authentic Chinese, and beautiful ambience. Everything was so well seasoned and flavorful!
Delicious food!
Their food is halal. Lots of vegetarian options. I absolutely loved their stir-fried mushrooms with broccoli and sweet and sour eggplant.
Tasty Chinese halal food. They have very big menu. It is hard to pick. I enjoyed their General Tso s Chicken.
Oh my gosh! Just amazing food. So so so good. My favourite was the Lamb skewers. So flavourful. My only feedback is that not all the food comes to the table at the same time. Our sizzler came first and it was the only thing on our table for a good 10 minutes till the rest of the food started rolling in one at a time. I prefer getting all my order at the table at the same time. Other than that, great food, great customer service. Will definitely return
Too salty :(
The braised beef hand pulled noodles is by far the best thing on the menu. My go to everytime Dietary restrictions: Halal
Very good lamb and chicken skewers.
Food Taste not bad. Between all the chinease i have tried this was not the best but reasonable. Good came really fast. Sitting environment was reasonably good
Delivers. Super cozy food. Got stew beef with potatoes. They make the sauce spicy.
The noodles are delicious when mixed with oil, and the slivers are especially chewy. Lamb kebabs are delicious The red willow skewers are like those from Northeast China, sweet and sour, and taste like chicken skeleton sauce Dont order the haggis soup. There are tomatoes, vermicelli, and fungus in it. $13 for a small portion, so cheating
They are so slow to give order I wait for 10mins to give my order I don t like it .fk
Excellentaaaaaaaaaa!
theyve hung up their halal certificate, not sure what to make of the people saying its not halal. but many people are suggesting its halal. Food was good, would compare this to other hakka Chinese spots.
People are soo nice here. Very kind and helpful staffs. Food quality and quantity is perfect.
The large plate of chicken amazed me! Very authentic and the portion is huge. The meal for two is super value for money, and they are very satisfied with the meal The yogurt and glutinous rice dessert we ordered a la carte is also delicious
Thank you for your integrity, great food and even better staff.
The large plate of chicken is delicious and the noodles are especially chewy!
Excellent place for authentic Chinese. Very good tasty items
Food was very good, the service was acceptable.
Very authentic Xinjiang chicken, mutton skewers bigger than your hand, sizzling with oil, eggplant with minced meat delicious, and fried noodles with a huge portion! The special cold skin is also delicious, large in quantity and affordable . I particularly like the service. The store decoration is very new and the environment is very good
The large plate of chicken is really filling, and the chicken and potatoes are so tender. Highly recommended! ! ! ! The soup that goes with the pantyhose noodles is also a must-have, and the yogurt bowl is also a must-have. I really love it.
I haven t been there for a while. The store has been renovated. It s very nice, spacious and comfortable. The food is as delicious as ever
The BEST halal authentic Chinese food a must visit! Vegetarian options: Some good veggie options Parking: Near by paid parking Kid-friendliness: It s kid friendly place
Amazing quality and tasting food with nice interior and great service. Server was not rude in any way. Overall, def recommend
Best Chinese food in the city, the service is great and our food came almost immediately after ordering. The general tso chicken & crispy beef are soooo delicious. I got the membership card and will be back for more soon!
I have been to this restaurant many times with my friend. I always had amazing dining experience at here. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, truly capturing the essence of traditional Xinjiang cuisine. The service was friendly, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Xinjiang dishes!
Delicious food! Super speedy service! Really loved their spicy fried rice!
My friend recently graduated, and to celebrate, my neighbor insisted on visiting Magical Taste of China because the food reminds him of his hometown in Xinjiang Province, China. I m glad we went! The food was amazing so delicious and different from any Chinese food I ve had before. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were incredible. The service was also excellent. I can t wait to go back. Highly recommended!
Great food and great service! Love their bbq lamb Food
Skewers good, polo was disappointing.
Food was amazing, especially the Szechuan fish fillet & the lamb kabobs. The restaurant was really crowded - we came at around 7 and managed to get a table, but after that we could see many people waiting for theirs. That s why sometimes it took a while for the waiters to get to the table or they could also mess up the order of your dishes. But the food made up for all of these!
Amazing food, little on the expensive side but worth the price
Nestled in the bustling heart of Kensington Market, Magical Taste of China offers an exquisite halal culinary journey amidst a vibrant atmosphere. During our visit, the restaurant buzzed with activity, yet maintained impeccable service and an inviting ambiance. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the attentive staff, notably our server Flaura, whose genuine hospitality enhanced our dining experience. Her proactive approach ensured that every patron felt welcomed and attended to. Our culinary voyage commenced with the Beef Stir Fry, boasting a delightful medley of flavors that tantalized the taste buds. While impeccably executed, a slight hint of oiliness tempered an otherwise stellar dish, warranting a commendable 4 out of 5 stars. Continuing our gastronomic adventure, the Steamed Hand-Pulled Noodles captivated with their perfect texture and expert preparation. Each bite offered a harmonious blend of freshness and skillful cooking, earning a respectable 3 out of 5 stars. Throughout our meal, the restaurants commitment to cleanliness was evident, with well-maintained facilities and spotless washrooms adding to the overall appeal. In summary, Magical Taste of China impresses with its exceptional service, inviting ambiance, and culinary delights. Whether seeking a memorable dining experience or a casual outing, this establishment exceeds expectations and warrants a visit for any discerning food enthusiast. Vegetarian options: There are a couple of vege Dietary restrictions: Everything on menu is Halal Parking: Located on main Street. Difficult to find parking Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, great staff. Washrooms are great Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is one level below the groung level and has stairs to enter, without a wheelchair accessible ramp. However The washrooms are accessible.
Lamb was yummy!
Hand pulled noodles werent very flavorful
Its too unpalatable... Ive been craving for Xinjiang fried rice noodles for a long time, but it turned out to be hard and tasteless, with a lot of soup... In my impression, Xinjiang fried rice noodles should be fried semi-dry with sauce, and I chose the normal spiciness. Totally tasteless....the chicken was not the fried chicken nuggets either. I also ordered Xinjiang fried noodles and it was very tasteless, but the chicken skewers were okay.
The food was not magical at all. If you plan on eating here, I really hope you are rich because you will be wasting money. I literally cried in a corner because the food was far from good. I am so sad. Very sad. Im gonna go cry again. Bye.
total waste of money food was very bad no taste at all
Halal chinese delicious food in Toronto ! Nice space and looks to sit and eat However Service is mid , always a rush tbh and lack of clear communication Food : 5/5
Food was average. Our order was recorded incorrectly and wrong item delivered. Main item something lamb for spicy beef that we ordered had about 20% lamb and 30% bell peppers and 50% onions. At the end of the day, you can only eat so much onions Rice were good but tad bland and we had to request for soy sauce on the side. Soup was good but again a little bland to our taste and soy sauce wasnt initially provided. Not great value for the money in my opinion.
It is the best halal Chinese restaurant in the Toronto area. I highly recommend it!
Very good Chinese restaurant, I have lived in DT for five years and eat here almost several times a week. Remember slowly. From Spadina to Dundas, it s full of memories.
The food here was really, really bad. I have nothing more to say!
Sometimes I come here for take out lunch. The food has big portions. Some dishes are good and some are average. Cant comment on the service because I seldom have sit downs here.
We ordered the tomato soup base with crispy pork. The portion was huge and taste is delicious!
My boyfriend and I were exploring Chinatown, and we came across this hidden gem of a restaurant. The staff were extremely nice and helpful with recommendations. Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and super tasty! We will definitely be coming back. Thanks again to all the staff!
Pretty clean and nice interior Chinese place. Outside looks sketchy but inside is actually not bad. We got a bunch of skewers and main dishes. Skewers were great. Lamb, tofu, mushrooms, bbq buns etc. Their fried lamb ribs were a bit gamy. Their stir fried lamb was great along with green beans, cold noodles and mapo tofu. They offer this VIP card for $20 which lasts 2 years. You can use their VIP pricing with that. We already saved $23 ish for this dinner with the card so it s worth it.
So delicious and consistent. We get the spicy lamb in a wok every time because its just so flavourful and unique. But everything else weve tried had been really good as well. Great portions, food comes quickly and staff is efficient!
The service attitude is very good and the food is very good
Good environment and proper service. You can ask for condiments like chili oil, soy sauce even if they are not on the table. Food quantity is definitely worth the price. #halal
Excellent food ! attentive service! There is massive choice of dishes.
A good place taste some average food (I cant say its good or bad). I have mixed feelings. I would like to visit it again to test for a second. I was not completely disappointed at the same tune, not completely satisfied.
The service is cordial and thoughtful, and the dishes are exquisite and delicious, making you unforgettable.
good service and great food
I ordered beef stir spicy and fried rice with hot and sour soup. It was really bad . It upset my stomach I had to take medicine.
Food is great and our server zoie was amazing in her excellent service. Prices are very economical
Our Chinese friend invited us to celebrate Lunar new year, we ordered few dishes which were almost identical, and server did not tell anything about it. Meat also had a lot of bones in it and dishes mainly consisted of sweet potatoes. And finally server insisted of leaving tips, which we would do anyways, but it was no polite and definitely his service was not worth it
Wow VERY good Chinese food! We loved the crispy beef, it was perfect texture so soft and quality (best crispy beef we have had to date)! The Xinjiang Style Fried Rice Noodle was SOO good, packed with amazing flavour (ask for extra spicy/lots of sauce)!! The Xinjiang Style Fried Rice was also amazing, would love to try the seafood fried rice! Overall everything ordered is delicious 5-Star all the way. Can t wait to come in and try more dishes!
My favorite XinJiang Restaurant in Downtown Toronto!
Every dish is unexpected. They look pretty, but I can t even bite them.
Our favorite restaurant in Toronto. Especially my children love this place. There are too many things you can try, we love Generals Chicken. And above all it is halal.
Food was amazing. Location is also nice and a must must try for Chinese food lovers
Great options for a different type of Chinese cuisine. They have friendly servers, a clean environment, and great food. Would highly recommend for vegans too. They have amazing kebabs (mushrooms kebab is great too). I would recommend the bbq the most. It also has other Chinese staples like stir fried noodles, bok choy and mushrooms, etc.
Tired this lamb skewers. Was really good. So many varieties of food. Food
One of our favourite restaurants. We have come here several times and we loved the food each time. Great customer service. Would always recommend this place. 10/10
The pepper chicken dish hardly had any meat- it was breaded.. The shrimp dumplings hardly had any shrimp. Lots of flavours but didnt feel it was a good value. The bbq eggplant was small. The spring rolls were 8 $ for 4 but just had some veg and were skinny. For 53 bucks we thought it was too pricey!
Very unpleasant experience we had with my husband. We ordered general tao chicken and waited like half hour to get it. Than we saw lavae in the broccoli they said they will change the food and give discount. We waited another 30 mins for it to be ready. Than the discount we have got for lavae broccoli was 2 cad. So i highly recommend you to check your broccoli before you eat.
Good food and reasonable prices for the dishes.
Been here twice and each time, the food and service is always consistently great! The food was exceptional, bursting with flavor and served hot. Very different from the traditional Chinese/Hakka cuisine you can get across the GTA, which was refreshing. We tried a variety of dishes, each more delicious than the last. Personally, the lamb skewers were my favourite perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The selection of steamed dumplings was a delight to the palate. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service was prompt and friendly. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place and will be returning.
Very RUDE and poor service. A Chinese female server reminded me to pay tip before I paid my bill. What a terrible service, she even was not my table server. Very rude action to a VIP holder. I wont go in this terrible restaurant again. When a middle-aged woman brought me the bill last Sunday, she reminded me that the tip was not on the bill! Come on, she didnt serve me!! What does the tip mean? Im still a VIP in the store, and she was a really low-level reminder. I will never go to this store with rude and rude service again.
Chicken Noodles were amazing.
The food is good and the service is very friendly. Highly recommended
The grilled naan I ordered was probably taken out of the refrigerator and heated in the microwave before being served. It couldnt be smashed with bricks. I ordered another soup. I soaked the naan in the soup for ten minutes and it was still hard. Are you going to knock out my teeth? ! ! The mutton kebabs tasted absolutely awful, the mutton was undercooked and fishy, and the seasoning sprinkled on the outside looked like it had not been grilled. On Dundus, there used to be another Western Restaurant next to Golden Bull City that was pretty good, but it had closed down, so I walked in thinking it was the same restaurant. I ordered a dish that cost more than 80 yuan. After I got my teeth knocked in my teeth, I left without eating a single dish and paying for it. I will never come back again! ! !
Can get a little too crowded and loud at times. Food is ok, consistency in taste during every visit. Be aware that if you find hair in your food in the middle of your meal, they will still charge you half price.
Good chinese halal food, skewers were good but i think they can improve their taste. We took fried jumbo shrimp, cumin lamb, sizzling beef and seafood fried rice
Very tasty halal food and vibes 8/8
Excellent place . Vegetarian options: I believe. They have vegetarian options. Recommended dishes Fried Rice
Great little place to have very unique blend of authentic Chinese and Hakka taste. The price levels are reasonable and ambiance is great too.
Extremely tasty food, lots of choice, efficient service, clean and tidy! Highly Recommended! Vegetarian options: Many Dietary restrictions: Options available Parking: On street parking and few other parking spots nearby
Overall the food was good. I enjoyed the crispy shrimp with croutons and the fried rice a lot. The green onion pancakes and winter melon and mushroom soup was good too. The cashew chicken was a bit bland and while I did enjoy the noodles themself, the sauce was nothing special. I would visit again to try their other items as the service and ambience was good and the food came very fast.
Lamb skewer!
Really nice food for those who like Chinese food, I personally am not a fan;
Choice of menu different from other halal Chinese restaurant.
The food has a lot of seasoning and salty. The server they talking behind us, they thought we dont understand Chinese but we do. One of my friends gets diarrhea.
Was looking for a good Chinese place to eat and went to Magical Taste of China. Just loved the ambiance and food. What an amazing place to eat, and above all everything is halal here!! Definitely will be going back for more!!
I can t believe how salty there bbq lamb rib is. I mean, do they get their salt for free? is that why they pour so much on the lamb? I had to run the rib by water to be able to finally eat it. Will not return again.
This place definitely deserves 5 stars, the food was heart warming and delicious. The service was quite nice as well, staff were quite friendly and quick with service. I liked the atmosphere, it s cosy and a great place to bring family. I ordered the hand pulled noodles with seasoned chili oil. They were great, in the image it doesn t show much of the seasoning, but most of it s under the noodles or the greens. The flavor was great, however, personally, I would ve enjoyed it more if it was spicier. In terms of seasoning and texture it was great. The shrimp and wonton soup was also really good. This was definitely heart warming and had a flavor profile much different to the noodles. The flavours were a lot more subtle but rich, especially with the addition of seaweed. Again the portions were great. Lastly, the BBQ was spectacular. I ordered the Xinjiang style BBQ lamb and it was mind blowing. I loved the seasoning and the smoky flavor. What was great about it was the right amount of seasoning, ensuring that the natural taste of the meat cooked on a fire isn t lost. The steam buns were also quite nice, they weren t what I expected but I really enjoyed eating it with the BBQ lamb.
This place gave me food poisoning, I don t usually leave review but this place didn t offer a refund on food that was law quality turns out I go home and was right . Puking my guts out Never eating Chinese food again
The food here is really authentic. The service is very fast but some nights you might wait for seats but theyre very fast. The food tastes fresh and delicious. I love the ambience and decor. Vegetarian options: Have alot of options
Its my 1st time here ive tried fried rice here which absolutely good looking but didn t taste that cooked and my other order was a meat stick which was raw which was supposed to be well done.
There were a lot of people. Bit noisy. Otherwise a great place.
Very bad attitude!
It was my birthday and 3 of us went for dinner We went around 10.15, at the door they didn t say anything. We were looking at the menu when the server came to us around 10.20 saying if we were ready to order and we had 5 mins to place an order before the kitchen closes. We ordered appetizers and mains. They quickly gave our mains one after one within 5-7 minutes but we were waiting for our appetizers. At 10.41 we got our appetizers on our table and the guy said do you need takeout boxes? We were confused and said yeah later maybe, to which he replied- okay because you have 9 minutes. We were confused and said okay. Before we took a bite of the appetizers, he came back to ask if we wanted to settle the bill and we did all within a minute. We ate half of our food in 8 minutes, took the takeout boxes and left by 10.52pm. We understood it was their time to close but I have never seen a restaurant sit people, take order, serve food on the table and then say we are closing, do you want takeaway. We could have taken our business elsewhere if we had any idea that we can t eat in peace even. It s a busy location where restaurants stay open all night, if they had communicated before we placed the order that we can t even finish the food we would ve gone someplace else. Not to mention we spent 135$ there. No complains about the food, it was great. Just lacks good service, and communication. I had a great day, but this experience just made my special day dull. Lesson- don t go after 10, ask before you seat down that if you guys have an out by- cuz they will wait till they serve your food and rush you out. Dietary restrictions: Halal
The food here was delicious, especially the lamb skewers. The portion size for the price is generous and the meat was nice and juicy, no gamey taste at all, would recommend this to anyone. Servers were also attentive and the food came out pretty quick one after another. We ended up spending $150 for a group of 4, but by applying for the membership card ($20 fee) we were able to discount our bill by about $18, so getting the membership card paid for itself. Overall the restaurant is an excellent spot in Chinatown that makes you feel like you ve found a hidden treasure. Will definitely be back!
This is possibly the worst Chinese food experience that Ive had in Toronto. Its whitewashed and bland for Xinjiang food standards and pointlessly expensive.
Big dish chicken with very small size by using cheap chicken lag without careful treatment ending up with very low level taste. The yellow potatoes were dyed red with pigment, and the ingredients were generally not processed well. The chicken smell was obvious, and the small plate chicken was really the worst in terms of taste and weight.
Great experience and great service
Best halal chinese in toronto. Amazing authentic flavours and a very extensive menu.
The large plate of chicken at $29 was too small. It was already a small plate, and potatoes accounted for a large proportion. The few remaining pieces of chicken were also cheap chicken drumsticks, which tasted too obvious. Even such expensive lamb skewers are the same size as regular skewers from ordinary barbecue restaurants, which is outrageous. I don t understand why the restaurant has such a high rating and there are so many foreigners in the restaurant. But I quite like the decoration style.
Food average but expensive. Not recommended
First time visiting and I thought the food was excellent. The service was warm and welcoming also. The interior of this location was nice too!
I had a fantastic dining experience at Magical Taste of China! Their lamb dishes, particularly the Braised Bone-in Lamb over naan and the Roasted Lamb Rib, were incredibly yummy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the comforting Lamb Soup and the unique Xinjiang Style Vegetarian Stir Fry. The Egg Drops in Milk & Rice Wine was a delightful surprise. Its a rare gem in downtown, offering a great mix of spicy and non-spicy options. Highly recommend for an authentic and delicious meal!
