The Works is a full service, licensed, casual dining restaurant chain with outdoors work themes. The restaurant’s main menu feature is burgers
I've been The Works' loyal customer, visiting at least once a month (various locations in GTA) for at least 7 years. They have the best burgers. That said, this specific location, is getting "less good" over the years (to be fair, I recently moved back to the area after a 2-year break from regularly visiting this location). First and foremost, customer service is consistently inconsistent. Every time I come it looks like they have a new face (not sure if their turnover is high or if it is simply lots of part time staff). What is weird is that when the location is busy, their service is actually better and faster than when they are empty - when it is empty, we usually have to wait for food way longer and ask for something (like refill) a few times. When it comes to take out, this location is top (vs other GTA locations) forgetting something for my order. I also noticed that, over the years, my favorite burgers were subject to "shrinkflation" - while their prices do go up slower than competitors' (and it is still plenty of food), their burgers are becoming gradually smaller: first, the bun, then the fries, now the fillings. It might be my opinion that is unpopular, but I want my burger the way I've had it for the past 7 years. Don't get me wrong, I will still be going to The Works and ordering my favorites. And, if you are a first timer, you will have the best time ever. But it's definitely not as good as it used to be, and that is unfortunate.
Went in on a Monday night. Excellent burger. Bar drinks were on a surprise in-house special rate. Service was attentive and actually gracious from the young woman serving tables. I reduced 1 star only because of the lighting which was so glaring as to be uncomfortable.
We came in around 3 pm and the spot had many seats, so we're able to dine as soon as we came in. The server, which also was the supervisor(i wish we asked for her name), welcomed us and provided amazing service! My fiance, the server, and I shared great report. Then, our order arrived. Wow. My sandwich was prepared with love. I ordered the Chicken fight club sandwich and onion ring, and my partner ordered the hipster burger with die cut chips. Fresh, crispy, pairing great with the beech house sauce. 10/10 across the board. We will definitely be back for another visit
I work near there and has an amazing burger. I asked for a specific burger, one of the best burgers I ever tried. Also the service is great, the server Trevor does a great job and is always making us feeling welcome.
I went to high school near here and always knew about it but I’ve never actually gone inside. My friends and I went in on a super humid day, and it was really funny that they served drinks in measuring cups HAHA We all ordered burgers, I ordered a mushroom one. It was good! I do think it looks better than it tastes, it’s not very juicy (so it’s a biased disappointment lol). The mushrooms were good though! I got sweet potato fries too. It’s a bit bland but the sauce made up for it. I ended up paying like $31 for an Arnold Palmer (virgin), fries and a burger. So I’d go somewhere else for the price but if you have the money why not. The lady that served us was nice and the atmosphere is chill too. Good place for a casual lunch.
What a lucky find! We were looking for a burger and found an excellent burger place here quite by accident. From the moment we walked in and came across the super friendly waiter who made us feel special to the very creatively named burger selection, this is a excellent place to go to for a humble burger. See my photos! The burgers were excellent and the accompanying sides like the fries and chips were great. The waiter deserved 6 stars. Sorry we forgot to ask his name...
Great tasting food. Thoroughly enjoyed. While it feels like 90% of their burgers come with bacon, they allow you to swap it out for veggie bacon. Also swap sauces. Basically, you can customize a lot, which is appreciated. Not generally a fan of black forest items because I don't lik cherries but the black forest shake was great and not overwhelming with cherries at all.
I’d like to thank the waiter who served us, unfortunately I didn't ask your name, but he was very kind, attentive and explained the menu very well to us. Despite there being a few hours before the restaurant closed, we were very well attended to. I recommend ordering the appetizer onion rings tower 😋, and the burger meat is delicious and juicy!! 🍔the pop is refil.🥤
Listen. If you have ever been asked how much or how do you want your bacon question asked and the answer was a firm steady YES, then close the comments section and go inside this place. They cook. And I mean COOK. Dont want to look at the menu? Fine - just name the toppings. Fancy for predefined options? Oh boy, you are in for a treat. They have surely done their womework. Leave alone that you can modify any of the predefined options. Dont hesitate to talk to staff for options and details. *Spoiler alert* Everything is made from scratch. Including their chips. Man. I cant get enough of this. Cant wait to get back. Ok, just to make sure Im not overestimating them. They dont serve Guinness. Unlike other places nearby. But those places DO NOT have this level of burgers. Leave alone customisation. Looking for places in this area of Bloor street? Look no further. Didnt even want to make a shot of the burger - it begged to be eaten
This place is my go to for a tasty filling burger. And my favorite sweet potato fries, if you are not a fan of potato fries like me youll understand what Im talking about They struggle with their service, we had to wait for almost an hour.the waitress said its a busy night but I could see there around 7 tables with customers!
This was a pick-up order. The food was stiff, dry and cold. Then we had disappointed children who didn t get their chocolate milk or ice cream treat as described included in the pdf menu. Not knowing that somehow the drink and ice cream treat included in a kidz meal, doesn t apply to pick up orders, I called. It was not until then I learned that these items weren t provided on pick-ups. No mention on their website. And no small offer of goodwill to compensate for paying the full price on these meals with items deliberately not given. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth along with the food.
The best burgers in Toronto!
We love it and the hostess Michael was great
Great burguers
Two of us went to this location for dinner on Sunday August 25th at around 5:10pm. There were 4 tables actively seated at the time yet it took us over 35 minutes to get our food which came to our table cold, so I can only assume it was dying on the window despite the restaurant not being busy at all. I understand the restaurant also has takeout orders firing at the same time but it was definitely a little too long for 2 burgers and I noticed out of the 2 servers that were working at the time one of them was just sitting on an empty table and perusing his phone most of the time. I got a burger that had onion rings mushrooms and cheese with spicy mayo, but there was not enough sauce on the burger making it extremely dry and because the food was cold the onion rings and burger patty became dry and hard, and some mushrooms were chewy and inedible. Our waitress also never once offered to refill our bottomless fries and drinks and there were no salt shakers on any of the tables at the time. We also asked for the waitress to ring us up a to-go order at the same time, but we had to wait 20 minutes after we finished eating and paying and we ended up staying in the restaurant for over 1.5 hours. Overall probably one of the worst experiences at a restaurant Ive had in a while. tl;dr: The food was cold the burger was dry and the service was insanely slow and not attentive despite there only being 4 tables being waited... Our waitress was nice when we did get service though I guess???
Came here today with my boyfriend. We got the bang bang broccoli to split, and he ordered the blues burger & I got the man cave. It was delicious! We come here whenever we can, but today s experience with our server Hannah was so positive that I had to leave a review. Hannah had such a warm and welcoming aura and was quick!
Food was great. Our server Diyah was fabulous.
Diyah was a fantastic server. She s upbeat and professional. She also made great recommandations on the menu. The food was also delicious. Would recommend
This is the place you want to come back to. Great service, active people, very interesting bar!
the burger is overcooked!!!!!
Came here Sunday night while the Ukrainian festival was going on. Had a table of 6 and something was going on with the staff. One of us had the wrong bun, then one of us had an insanely dry burger. The Hawaii 5-0 burger had a very small piece of pineapple with barely any brie and magic mushroom was lacking in mushrooms. The only saving grace were the fries. They were genuinely great, but then we were told we couldnt get any extra fries because of the kitchen being backed up(despite them being advertised as bottomless). Our service was a little slow, but our server was really nice about it and honestly we are a pretty patient and understanding group. Overall we were only disappointed in the fact that we didnt really get what we paid for.
First time going to this place and it was really good, the customer service was great shoutout to diyah
We visited today, during the Toronto Ukranian Festval. Had a fabulous lunch called Weeds with grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious and plenty of fresh garden salad. The staff is super nice and attentive to our requests. Cant wait to come back again. Food
Our server was amazing. They were extra busy due to the Ukrainian festival, causing a few mixups in the kitchen. She caught them before they reached the table and was apologetic for any remake delays. As we were finishing up, we noticed the table next to our was being rude as we overheard our server say sir, there is no need to speak to me that way Our server handled it graciously. The owner or manager had her back and approached the table, told them he had heard how rude they were, and escorted them out of the restaurant. While we paid our bill, we found out it was all because he couldnt have more fries. They usually offer bottomless fries, but due to the Ukrainian festival, they were unable to honor the bottomlessness of the side. They informed the man and did give him a second helping free of charge, but any subsequent orders would need to be paid for. When he saw his 3rd playe of fries on his bill, he threatened to call the police. What a baby
I tried this place as dine in and delivery. The waiters are underemployed, so expect the service to be slow. Food is good, I had the W burger with a beer. When it comes to delivery, food arrived cold (that s uber eats problem) and they didn t abide by my preferences, which I mentioned in the notes. Also, the salad came without its sauce, in both separate orders that I have made. Unfortunately, I m not visiting nor ordering again.
Had a delicious meal during the Ukrainian festival. Diyah was an amazing server and provided great recommendations for a first timer like me. Would recommend the dill pickle spears!!
With a power outage for three days the restaurant offered $5 off each burger and $5 beers due to limited food availability. Also bottomless French fries! Vegetarian options: Fake meat
I had an amazing experience! Ashes provided exceptional service, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. Shoutout to Hannah as well, who was also fantastic and made our afternoon. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the wonderful service!
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and incredible hospitality from Trevor & Binita. I went by during lunchtime yesterday and got the W Burger (with no bacon) while upgrading my protein to the Canadian wagyu beef on a classic white bun with bottomless fresh cut fries. It was SOOO good people---I couldnt even snap a picture for my review quick enough before my first few bites were in! All in all, the meat was so well seasoned, juicy, and tender accompanied with quality condiments and the fresh bun to top it off. Portions were way better (with no compromise on quality) compared to the other restaurants in this area. 10/10. Dietary restrictions: They were able to list out all the ingredients prior to my order, and happily accommodated my personal dietary restriction of bacon.
Great tasting burgers. Good atmosphere. Great combination of burgers toppings.
The Works proclaims that it serves CRAFT BUTGERS. Unfortunately the amount of craft expended on the burger I had was minimal. Straight unadorned beef with a cheese stuffing is called Juicy Lucy. Not Juicy. Not made as far as I could tell, with onions, garlic, salt, pepper, extender, or after that, really ANYTHING that could proclaim craftsmanship. I ordered mine lettuce-erspoed and there wasnt enough lettuce included to wrap the burger. I had to order extra lettuce to accomplish that small task, as well as an extra container of salad dressing. (The green leaf side salad was very generous and quite good.) A definite improvement for this rather understated burger would be charcoal cooking, which would bring out more beef flavour at least. Dinner including a bottomless diet Pepsi (pretty good) and a peanut butter chocolate milkshake to go was $31.28 plus tax and tip. (Caution: paper straws. Also, bring your own tooth picks.)
We ve given this place two chances, one in person - we left because they told us they didn t know how long it would take to serve us food, even though the place was half empty. The second one today. We ordered online for pick up and they had us waiting there for 20min - after waiting for 30 min at home, and it turned out our order was ready for that long by they didn t even write the correct name on the bag... So we ended up going home with cold burgers.
This place used to be great but it seems it really went downhill. Burgers we ordered were so charred they were barely edible. Tomatoes they put on top were very poor quality. The worst part is that we were only people there so its not like they were busy...
Really good spot, good food nice service. If your looking for a spot to go out to eat or chill this is the spot really its a calm vibes. .
The worst Poutine Ive ever eaten, it was salty and when we told the waitress she replied that they couldnt do anything, they didnt even give us a discount, we couldnt eat it, I also ordered a hamburger and the chips were very small and burned, horrible, I dont recommend it.
We love the Works! We had guests who wanted great burgers, so we came here! Delicious! Food
Regret to say that we had a very disappointing dinner experience today with WORKS Burgers ÜberEats delivery from the 2245 Bloor St location. It was a very negative experience from multiple reasons after ordering from WORKS several times, we thought that WORKS would be reliable. But is wasnt. My side order (sweet potato fries) for extra charge was not added, the 2 gravies and 2 dipsticks each that weve ordered were not added, the burger was cold and not the one I ordered (no goat cheese and no peppercorn crust for the Love Goat burger) the lettuce had brown edges and was not fresh at all... Only 1 ingredient (the arugula) reminded me the burger Ive ordered and we would have counted on the gravies as well tonight. Very disappointing and sad that we are not able to count on our favourite burger place anymore! Update: After this incident, I have been contacted by the GM of the Bloor St W location and was very pleased to have a great conversation with Aveena, followed by her offer of a dinner at her location to make up for the issue with the delivery. She handled the situation in a very empathic and professional manner on the phone and in-person as well. We went for a dinner last night and we were both very satisfied with the service and the quality of the food - just like what were used to in the past. So based on how the issue was handled and the multiple good experiences in the past, Ive changed my review to 5 stars.
Great home made patty. Friendly service!
Great burgers, good value.
Food took way to long for burger and fries.. order wrong.. GF bun crumbled apart and was un edible
Burgers were great! Nicely seasoned and flavorful. I also liked their fries, perfectly salted and crispy. I like that they have so many topping options, would definitely come back
We tried to order online but their system glitched and we lost the order so we called and explained and said that we wanted the food delivered but they told us that you must order on line for delivery. They took our order and we picked it up. The burgers were good but cold and they had just packed it up when we arrived. The fries were soggy as well. Also, they got the condiments wrong on 2 orders. They need to pull up their socks and fix their faulty system. Also, my husband gets emails from them all the time but has a hard time logging into his account; he keeps changing the pass code, but it still doesn t work. 5 Guys next time.
Went on Mothers Day. Wish our server had more help, but she was great. Thankfully, help eventually arrived.
Server mixed up the food, Drinks didnt come as we ordered.
But much to say about it. They seemed a little understaffed but food was good
It was a great meal at The Works Craft Burgers. There is a lot of choices of burgers even for kids. The server was a perfect at there and she was so nice and we could spent a nice family meals. Thanks!! Food : 4/5 |
Works was great. The burger was a tad dry, and the chips was a little stale. Other than that everything was great.
Good burger, reasonable price, good service
Staff were amazing, thank you Gio & staff for excellent service! The burgers were fantastic.
We just didnt get seen for what seemed like 25 minutes, just got seated and never saw the server again
Great burgers and shakes
Twice now and the slowest service we have experienced anywhere. Must be severely understaffed. Expect to wait. A lot.
I had previously stopped going to this location a number of years ago due to some bad experiences but I gave it another chance a few weeks ago and I was blown away!! The food was amazing, everything done really well and service great too, I only did pick up order but the server was very attentive even though she was busy didnt make me feel rushed. Ill be coming back to this location regularly. Im curious to know if there is new owners or cooks because the food has improved sooooo much since 2020!
Great spot
All good
Good burgers and milk shakes. Dietary restrictions: Can accommodate gluten free/celiac with dedicated fryer for french fries. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available.
My daughter and I ate lunch here today and it was delicious. My 9 year old is a picky eater and will tell you exactly what she thinks and this meal definitely met her expectations. For dinner tonight, we heated up the leftover sweet potato fries we bagged up from lunch to add to our dinner meal and they were still very yummy. My burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and the portion size was perfect too. So often you get a burger that is massive and super hard to eat, not to mention wasteful. My daughter and I give the Works on Bloor five stars. We will definitely be back. Our waiter (and owner?), Trevor, was very friendly and attentive, as soon as we entered the restaurant. He made a perfect sized milkshake for my daughter and helped us get out in good time so we wouldn t be late for our 2 pm appointment. Thank you!
Food and beer are excellent. The brewery atmosphere is cool.
This is the best burger casual restaurant (not fast food) in Toronto... So far. Try the maple one. Dare you to give me a better option!
They make good burgers. The Tragically Maple does hit the spot. It would be amazing fresh and hot. Plus, their shakes are excellent. I usually end up getting the burger too cold even for a delivery burger. Which is why I ve yet to have another one. Also, the prices are not cheap I get gourmet food so gourmet pricing. But, my favourite burger there is $27.40, which is expensive. It s hard to justify a burger that pricey. Happy Burger makes a gourmet burger with pastrami for less than half that price. Not as fancy but still Really my main issue is to have it come cold at that price is awful. It s due to distance from the place, but it could be prevented with wrapping the burger in foil. The way they pack it is in a cardboard container where heat can easily escape. Happy Burger also does a better packaging job. A gourmet burger should include good presentation in terms of packaging. If your in the area and can dine in it s worth giving it a try once for sure. Delivery I would skip unless they ve started to pack the burgers better. I m reviewing this pretty long after I last had it. But, it s fresh in my mind. Things may have gotten better. Note: I am seeing pictures where the burgers are wrapped in wax paper. So either they ve started to wrap better since my visit. Or I got unlucky the two times I ordered and they forgot and used a cardboard container for some reason.
a place with a wow effect, a combination of delicious food, large portions and a nice price.
Double crunch is definitely my choice! Blue cheese ranch sauce together with spicy wing sauce create a magnificent combination of both taste and style! Trevor is the best! One of the most friendly servers weve ever seen! Also kitchen staff is hot
Ordered the magic mushroom burger. Yuck!!! The patty was thin, dry and burnt. The mushrooms and onions on it were not juicy and lush but fried to an inch of their life. Gross. The side of Mac and cheese also very dry. Not worth the money spent.
The hardest part is choosing what burger to eat. Surprise theyre all pretty good. They do a blooming onion as well. So, theres lots of flavor to add to the stack.
Our experience recently at The Works in the Bloor Weet Village was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent and arrived promptly. Our server Aveena was pleasant and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We will certainly visit again soon, thank you!!!
Went for dinner the burger tasted amazing and server Trevor did a great job.
Loved our experience @ The Works. Service was PHENOMENAL. Food was very tasty. 1st time trying Wagyu beef and hey, its worth it. Well be back.
Great burgers. Lots of options
If you are a burger head this is the place. Wonderfully delicious every time. The service is great. Staff is super friendly. We even had a chat about The Princes book Spare. This place will not disappoint.
Ive been to The Works twice. Good food overall if youre in the burger/fried foods craving space, although be prepared to spend some decision making time, as the choices are extensive. Drinks are good, but the schtick of serving beverages in measuring cups is unnecessary and kind of awkward. Most recently, my party and I went on Family Day. It was clearly quite busy and understaffed, and we arrived at the tail end of some intense hustle by the kitchen/wait staff. We were warned by the hostess that food wait times were at about 1-1.5 hours but that if we ordered starters we would get them more quickly, so we stayed. We were served by Trevor, who, although it was apparent he had been working hard, was pleasant and as efficient as possible the whole time. He sought to make a real connection, the order accuracy was great, and while there was a bit of a wait, our meals came out notably sooner than we were warned, hot and tasty, good portions. We appreciated Trevors service! Word to the wise: Bacon sticks are simply Hickory Sticks snacking chips. :)
Excellent quality burgers! There is a huge variety, I recommend it! Super nice atmosphere, service was quick and great.
Decent place. Burger was a bit dry
Great burgers and bottomless fries for our family of 5. Our server Aveena was a pro. The place was jammed on a Wednesday, and she was super attentive even though they were short staffed. When we asked to see the manager to give feedback on her, she said that they did not have a manager at the moment. Heads up to Works corporate or owner. Aveena is a gem. You should make her the Manager.
Definitely a solid 4 stars. Burgers were tasty, but the patty was slightly overcooked. The fries are excellent, the toppings great, and the salad plenty. Service was a bit slow considering it was off-peak hours, however they were friendly and attentive. Pricing is also a bit excessive considering the quality but it s pretty normal for Toronto.
The burgers were so tasty!!!
Fries and burgers came out cold. Bit disappointed in the quality considering the price. The deep fried pickles app were good tho. Service was good.
Seems like a decent place and I love that it s in the neighbourhood, but I m vegetarian and they served me an actual meat patty instead of the impossible burger that I ordered, and it made me quite sick. Really wish they carried real veggie burgers that DON T simulate the taste of meat - many of us prefer them!
Awful experience. Waited for 1.5 hrs for the order and it never came. The staff kept saying that something happened with the printing machine in the kitchen, but didn t try to make the experience better. Offered to take food home when we were about to walk out of the restaurant, but the food still wasn t ready .
Weve been going to this restaurant for years, and as weve expanded our family. This place is great value and has stellar service! Its always exciting to try out the different kinds of burgers they offer! Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is very accommodating for allergies and very considerate!
The strength of the Works is the menus variety, and the amazing service. Its a very family-friendly space with lots of seating and no dingy bar vibes. Veggie and Gluten-free options are built into the menu, though the GF bun probably needs an upgrade, as it just cant hold up. Vegetarian options: Veggie and Gluten Free options are built into the menu.
Awesome place. great food. awesome serviy
Delicious fresh made burgers with unique and tasty toppings! They also have the Impossible Burger on their menu. Great area too.
I can t thank the young Woman enough who ran out to the side walk on April 21st like a Hero to help a Senior. Women like you are angels, that instill hope in humanity. Your critical instincts could have saved a life. Thank you x1 billion. Myself and my client are so grateful for your kindness. Sending you love and light
Second time I went here was disappointing. The food almost took an hour to be served and it was not even full capacity. Servers were not attentive until we were paying the bill and their washroom were not available to use. When we followed up for the food, server told us if we were not informed that the wait time for food which are mainly burgers was minimum 45 minutes. Have we known we wouldnt have gone here.
We were a group of family and friends after a long day having fun during visit high park cherry blossom, tired and hungry find this place on our way home and then they nailed it was by far the best burger I have ever had . Special thanks to Brenda our amazing host she is so patient warm and friendly great job.
Burger overcooked got the pineapple and sweet heat sauce burger.. kinda expected more then just that on the bun.. not even lettuce ( exactly what was in menu... So my fault there).. best part of the night is when the waitress asked myself and my wife if we wanted separate checks
Nice bar with a good selection of burgers and friendly services. Kid and family friendly too.
Waited 40 minutes for two burgers. The patty is so tiny, it sits in the middle of the bun with extra space. There were no taste at all, burger buns were stale, patty overdone. Horrible place.
Trevor is an excellent server. Really friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back for the food and ambiance.
The food is creatively crafted and delicious. We had a wonderful server but, sadly, our order got delayed due to a mix-up with delivery/pick up orders. The server made up for it with a not-too-shabby 50% discount. Kid-friendliness: I saw a couple of well-behaved kids with their parents. If I remember correctly, there were also crayons and such to keep them occupied.
if u have an extra time during your skip shift then come here otherwise dont come
I am so impressed with this location! The food and service was great. Although I was with a party of 7, the food was served fresh, and in a timely manner. It also felt like we were VIP because our table was in a separate area. Shout out to our server Trevor! He had a kind an bubbly personality, and made sure our burgers were cooked and prepared to our liking. He also made sure my sister felt special on her birthday, which was really nice! We will definitely be coming back here :)
So delicious and what cheerful and polite staff. Trevor took real good care of us. We love the works no other burger joint hits the spot quite like this. Their creemore draft beer is always so delicious as well. The bottomeless Fries and chips are also a hit. We will be back!
Great selecting of burgers! Veggie options, lots of choice.
Don t go! Totally overpriced (basically $25 for a burger and you haven t even bought any sides), the side of fries is tiny and service was SOOOOO so slow, especially for an empty restaurant. We have made the mistake of going 3 times over many years and won t be going again. Bloor west could use a small independent burger restaurant!!!
I ordered the side of broccoli to try to be healthy. Maybe my mistake, but the steamed broccoli was moldy. Also my friends burger was pink.
Ive been going to this Works for a long time, and it has only gone downhill. Very slow and understaffed, ghost town half the time.
Great spot if you can catch them on a slow day, otherwise it will take you forever to get seated and even longer to get served. Nice people and great food, I think the management just keeps them critically understaffed so they re always a little overwhelmed.
hurger
Excellent place, excellent food
Pricey! For a burger with some fries, I ended up paying $30 (food + tax + tip).
Great delicious burgers. I ve been there a couple of times and every time I enjoy their burgers a lot. The WORKS never disappoint. They don t sell Coke that s the only downside of this place and the service could be better.
Worst service and very unprofessional staff
Not at all impressed. The burger was big, but heavy and not very tasty. Despite being the only person in there at the time, the fries were badly overdone. For a place that advertises beer, the selection was almost non-existent. Four beer on tap, and a few more cans - the best that could be said for the selection was that I didnt see Bud Light.
Wonderfully weird and tasty burger combos youd hardly find anywhere else! The combos at the WORKS is something to tell your friends about and then regret it because youre not having it at that moment. This franchises tasty selection of patties, toppings, sides, appetisers, and buns are all top-tier. It rivals the greatest burger chains, and in some ways beats them too. Who else would let you switch around basically everything the burger comes with? Lets give an idea of the great opportunities you can have. Select any topping combo you like, then choose from a selection of: patties, buns, sides. Its hard to comeback here as youd want to try as many of the combos as you can, but you already know whats great! Its a losing battle to try everything here, but do give it a shot! (Too long, didnt read) TL; DR - very tasty, good service, lots of choices
Great burger and fun drink containers!
My father is one of the most pickiest eaters I know and he loves coming here. My family and I have had many of items on the menu and love that you can choose the patty you want (even vegan items which are excellent). My father is in a wheelchair and he was able to go in easily. Just be careful how much you order -- it is quite filling. The onion rings are highly recommended as well. Vegetarian options: There are excellent vegan options here. Talk to the staff to be clear about what to avoid if you are not sure.
Just delicious.
Ate here Monday night on the 21 of November and the food was superb. I had come here before about a year earlier and this place has improved. Great service and must be the best burger cookers in the city!!!
Never had a bad meal, food is very affordable given the massive quantity provided. 2023 update - I still havent had a bad meal, but tonights burger was superb and the service was top notch. I feel the trick to this place is you have to try a bunch of different burgers until you find the one.
Great location and amazing burgers!
A very nice cowboy atmosphere and delicious food cannot come as a sorprise at The Works!....and the servants are always so polite and efficient...not to mention they can indulge people like my wife with suculent gluten-free options. Eating there is a no brainer!
Recommend the hipster burger
Definitely an interesting experience! The did was incredible and SO DELICIOUS! A bit unfortunate that some of the beers werent available (out of stock) but all in all a good evening!
Cold burger :( waited 35 mins The server was nice The taste was good But so much time
We all enjoyed our meals and the server was nice.
Creatively-named burgers were delicious. Unfortunately, service was bobbled. 30 minutes for drinks. Hour and a half for food. Server was appropriately apologetic and provided a coupon for a free burger next visit.
This is a place for great burgers. The impossible burger was amazing, so much flavor. It was delicious. If youre vegan/plant based, its a must try. They prepare everything away from their regular meat products. And the beer is great as well. Enjoy
Great burgers with lots of topping options. Well be back!
The Works is one of the city s jewels. They prepare some of the most amazing burgers I ve ever tried. I have been a customer for more than five years and their service and products never disappoint. If you want an out of the box burger, this is the place to visit.
The good: Saturday, late afternoon, for take-out. We were greeted right away by the waitress and our ordering went smoothly. She told us our meal would be ready in 20 minutes and said we were welcome to have a seat in a closed off section of the restaurant while we waited. I gave the waitress a $5 tip because we asked for extra dips on our way out the door and she was happy to accomodate. Okay, the reasons we will not be back: Two burgers with sides, 1 of them being premium cost us nearly $50 with tax. Our burgers were still pink in the middle and were tasteless. I had the mushroom melt which was supposed to have cheddar. There was no taste of cheddar. The only good part of the burger was the bun - it was soft yet solid...it didnt fall apart as we made our way through the burger. We ordered a premium side - the Greek salad. The toppings that make it Greek were skimpy. Once we got home we found out that the pickles we had asked for were forgotten as was the salad dressing. Isnt this the responsibility of the waitress whom I presume packs the bag??? After I had given her a $5 tip I now regret it. For $50 I expect perfection. This restaurant is terrible value.
Excellent burgers with a wide variety of gourmet toppings. The Onion rings are beyond fantastic. I come here every time Im in the city.
Great Burgers
Overpriced. Initial greeting took nearly 5 minutes, and there was roughly 5 tables seated. Not thrilled
Bad service, tasteless burger. Asked for well done, received medium rare. Burgers arrived cold, drinks warm -_-
Over Priced !
Burgers are good, their onion ring tower is very good. Clean place, friendly staff, I have no complaints.
Great burgers!
Server was so lovely! Burger was delish - had the taste of heaven with an elk patty and added brie cheese. Poutine was massive!
Good was good in general .The burgers see not the best (taste of meat was not like we expected) .Service was really good. We did not like the payment option for tips since we were forced to options and couldn t optimize it for ourselves.
Excellent burgers and fries.A step above Hero Burger and the like.Meat is juicy and toppings fresh.
The selection of burgers is great, although I dont think much craft went into the making; this is a chain. My comment really has to do with the beer selection, which is is pitiful. Not one real ale on the list. Just light or extra light, lager or IPA. Very sad. I had a Bloody Caesar and they didnt even have any limes. Sad. We only went there because The Mug Shot wasnt open for lunch.
Love the born to brie
Great take out burgers. Friendly staff and manager.
Our food took a little longer then we expected. New staff, reopening etc. The waiter apologized numerous times and comped us an appetizer. They did everything right when the kitchen is backed up. When the burgers did come they more than made up for the wait. Perfectly cooked and delicious. We would definitely come back.
If you are looking for any and all toppings that go with a burger, this is the place to try! Their sexy burger and the poutine was a huge hit . They make some pretty darn awesome shakes as well. Overall super satisfying place to gain a few thousand calories but in a good way.
Food, service and ambient were good, just a little overpriced. Smoked flavour on the meat and numerous options.
My Juicy Lucy & Son of a Beech burgers for takeout were delicious! Unfortunately, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes for my pickup order, AFTER being notified via UberEats that my order was ready, when in fact, it had yet to even be made. I understand that it was a weekday (Wednesday at 1PM), so staff levels arent required to be higher, however its an entirely different story to be notified via app that an order is ready for pickup only to arrive and still have to wait.
The food was ok, but after ordering, we had to wait 1 hour!!! so they could bring us 1 hamburger and 1 Caesar salad to the table... and they didnt warn us that there was such a long wait. There werent that many people either, especially when we placed our order. We had to complain twice and were about to leave, because we had another commitment, to which of course we were late. I dont think well go back. Plus its a little expensive.
I used to love coming to the Works so decided to drop by again after so long. Tried the sweet chica chica boom boom from their featured menu. There was a description but I figured it would include everything in the picture. I opted for vegan bacon. When the burger arrived I was surprised to see there was nothing in there exception the chicken patty & vegan bacon. There was hardly any sauce in it (including ketchup) It did not at all resemble the picture. My friend as generous enough to offer their lettuce, tomato and pickle from their own burger. I ve had far better burgers for the same price if not less. The poutine was good The service was great.
I was here a week ago, on a weekday. It was around 7:30 pm, only 2 tables. Two of us on one, and one family of 4 on the other one. We waited for our food for more than 35 min, then the waitress came to apologize and say it will be done soon. It took another 10 minutes. They forgot cheese in my burger, burger was dry and not juicy, the spicy chips they have (that I adore), was almost brown, not edible. Im not sure if this was due to not changing the oil for deep fry, or they hold it for to long when frying. Second thing that bothered me a lot, they had 8 of them hanging near the kitchen talking, laughing and having a great time, while we were sitting and waiting for our food. You should know priority when serving customers, and your kitchen stuff needs to have proper training so they can prepare food faster and with a better quality. Unfortunately this place in Toronto will be a pass for me, for the future. The one in Niagara Falls is still for a class better then this one (and its the same food chain).
The food and the atmosphere was very good. However, they were dealing with so many uber orders it took an hour for our food. Not impressed .
How is it possible that a burger restaurant can screw up a burger?? The meat was virtually tasteless and over cooked. The waiter was very good I have to say and brought out another burger. Unfortunately it wasnt much better. The kitchen staff obviously need better training.
Definitely not anything too crazy. The food tasted good.
Dry, burnt, tasteless. I ll stick to Big Smoke.
Just wandered in during the Ukrainian festival and were pleasantly surprised to find some quality food, Creemore on draft, and top notch service from a swell fella named Trevor. Wouldn t usually say this about a franchise spot, but we ll probably be back!
Had a great experience with my partner this evening at The Works! Our waiter Trevor was such a delight. The food was great and I ll definitely be coming back!!
Trevor is a baller, great guy, give him a raise
This is a really great place very unique and our waiter was awesome his name was trevor he is so nice sweet bubbly and friendly made my first time experience here amazing and I Will come back thank u trevor and the food was great cheers
Trevor was awesome. Really puts himself in his customers shoes. Hooked my friend up with that gluten free bun bun. We talked about guitars. Gave us free onion rings.
Very positive service but they had nooo idea what was ordered and ended up giving us the wrong food and charged extra for food that was never even on the plates. Avoid this place and just go to... Well any other place!!!!
I has the veggie burger which was very good and it which came with bottomless fries which is pretty unique. Service was very good and drinks are served in a measuring cup which was different in a good way. Avoid sitting in the booths which are terrible. There is very little room between the bench and the table, the back of the booth is completely straight and unpadded so its very uncomfortable.
This is some serious craft burger. The best I ve had in a while. It s worth the price and waiting.
Honestly, this place serves the best poutine I ever had. The Tragically poutine is beyond amazing in my opinion! The staff is very kind, helpful, full of knowledge and professional! Thanks David Donnelly!
Our food arrived 35 minutes after our order and it was COLD. I order a burger with putine and my wife burger with Greek salad and both was cold (only the gravy on the putine was ok). The worst thing I found an olive seed in the salad, thankfully I didnt broke my teeth.
This is no longer a dine-in place. I mean you can try but we waited for our order for over an hour, watching take out orders being prepared and picked up, while we didn t even get our water. Our waitress finally informed us that if will be at least another 15 minutes wait because kitchen is working on a big take our order . We left without getting our food.
Service was really slow, especially considering it was mostly empty. 10 min wait to get seated. 15 min wait until I could order. 10 min wait after asking for the bill. Ordered the kobe burger and it was so overcooked that it was dry.
Amazing food and amazing service from Trever
This place was really good!! Everything was perfect, the service from Trever was really amazing, such a good place to spend a good night.
Great gluten free and vegetarian options! Service was great, thanks Trevor!
Extremely overcooked - charred and tough. Burger 101 is that the burger should be juicy. Skip it.
The food is amazing, but the service keeps disappointing. This time ordered online $87 for two burgers, milkshakes and sides. Did not get straws, did not get the requested sauces for the side. Not the first time. For $100 with delivery as a loyal customer I feel betrayed.
A really nice burger and a decent enough beer. We had a nice lunch
My fiance and I went to the works on bloor street for an early dinner as we had show tickets forn 8pm. We arrived at 5:15. Waited 40 mins for our food. While we were decideing what to eat the waitress was very attentative, cause we were the only 2 peple eating at rhe time. Once we placed the order, well that was an experience. The only time we ever saw our waitress was when she was taking orders from other tables.we had to grab another waitress ro grab ketchup and mustard. Yes you heard correctly, we had to ask for ketchup and mustard at a freakin burger and fries joint. The food was good, i enjoyed my burger and fries. I thought thr fries and rhe pop was unlimited, well it is just not as this location cause no one ever came to check in on us or asked if we needed anything. Terrible service. Will definitely not come back to the works again. So many good burger joints to go to, not going to waste my time with this company. I will never recommend the works to anyone i know from now on.
horrible survice
Burgers are tasty and the onion rings are yummy
Seriously the friendliest staff Ive ever met. I was having trouble getting payment to work for what felt like an hour (it was probably only 20 minutes) but they were so patient and understanding! I finally got to pay for my burger and it was delicious. Thank you!!
Amazing burgers, poutine was also delicious and thr milkshakes look amazing. However when I was there it took about 30 min for 3 meals woth maybe 5 other people in the restaurant. It was a Wednesday night but still. The food is delicious and prices are fair. Parking for this location is not ideal but then again its toronto so nowhere is ideal. Great if you are craving a burger but something a bit better than mcds.
Awesome burger place!
Tried different locations for The Works - by the far this one is the BEST!! Food done just perfect and the service is nothing less than superb.
Terrible terrible service under new management. Avoid at all costs, better burger outlets to try in the neighbourhood.
Great food & service. The menu is huge and I will be back to try some more flavors. The blue cheese burger was amazing, and you can even have it with Kobe wagyu ground beef or elk.
We were in a month ago and I thought you guys were great. I like the space, the people, the burgers and even the music. We were back tonight and you were even even better! The burger was amazing. Same for the fries. Definitely worth a try!
Stay away
