Brookfield Place 181 Bay Street Concourse Level Food Court, Toronto, ON M5J 2T3, Canada
Health-minded counter-serve offering a meatless menu of salads & grain bowls, plus breakfast fare.
There was raw cauliflower in my bowl today!!! I tried to salvage what I could but had to throw out most of the bowl and couldn’t go back before they closed since I had meetings. Also, I wanted to note the consistent terrible customer service and the staff who honestly look miserable working here. The lady who served me today just said “it’s ready”, placed the bowl on the counter, and turned away without another word even after I thanked her. Weird. I think this cauliflower incident might be the last time I visit Kupfert and Kim for lunch, just an uncomfortable experience and the food quality is not worth the money.
Today on my way to work, I stopped by to buy something for my breakfast. It was 9:00 am on Thursday. The place had a selection of muffins. I picked mixed berries one for $4.50. I got to my desk and started eating it, only to realize it was very cold, soggy yesterday from the fridge muffin. It was disgusting. A respectable place will never sell you yesterday's pastry, they will remove it from shelves that evening or sell it next day half price. Shame on you! For the prices you charge - selling stale food should be embarrassing.
An extremely pleasant experience of a veggie Ginger Peanut Salad Bowl, yum grub, tasty vibes and good memories. A vibrant and fresh bowl with plentiful portions, fresh and crisp veggies, dope satay and a solid portion of super yummy wholesome ingredients. The baked tofu was a solid add-on, gooey and warm, phenomenal. I actually quite rated this and has totally exceeded my expectations tbh! I would definitely return and I'd probably go for the same grub for sure.
The place is quite decent, however, their dishes don’t quite match the exquisitely advertised pictures; moreover, the exorbitant take away price tag is simply not justified. The desserts taste great and I could definitely give them a 5 stars, but the food undoubtedly avoidable. Although I would surely like to mention the congenial service ladies , those who actually prepare your food, are indeed very accommodating and go the extra mile to make you feel welcoming and comfortable. They could better with their food, honestly.
I have come here a couple times over the years but stopped after they took Dan’s Salad of the menu. This time I tried the avocado toast and it was honestly perfect! They did not skimp on the avocado and all the flavours mixed nicely. Would get it again!
Heathy vegan options, was nice change of pace while visiting Toronto. Their avocado toast was interesting, but the bread was so textured that it overpowered the rest of it. However, their breakfast bowl was delicious! Very expensive though.
Wide selection of delicious and healthy options. Their slogan, “meatless and wheatless” sims up their MO. I should stress that the menu is elaborate and all the items I’ve tried have been amazing. They’ve excluded items from their menu, but not at the expense of taste. Essentially, you don’t feel like you need a nap after lunch. They also have breakfast, juices, and dessert items. I highly recommend K&K!
This is tucked away under Brookfield place in their food court. This is a wheatless and meatless place - as they advertise. I love their branding angle of fresh food that's environment friendly. I have only had their Oaxaca bowl and I loved it. It was fresh,. flavorful and the dressing mix of pico, guac and cashew and cream was spot on. I added some hot peppers to it to make it a little spicy. The portions were good enough for me for lunch. Finished the bowl feeling fresh, ready to get back to work. I'm definitely coming back to this place for more.
Great service and staff
Why close the restaurant? They had the best healthiest selection of salads and juices in the city. Food
Great donut
Its probably time to file a consumer complaint about Kupfert & Kim. Kupfert & Kim is ripping customers off by giving less food and charging more. Their boxes are almost empty, not full as it used to be. They put dressing boxes inside salad box to make it look full which is clearly a deception.
My favorite bowls are almond lime and Oaxaca, and drink is the almond chocolate. All team members here are so polite, very kind and helpful!
Obnoxiously loud radio, difficult to hear and place order
The vegetables were very fresh but no matter how many extras you add to the custom bowl, the container is still the same size. Sounds obvious but I didnt realize I was paying extra only for variety instead of both variety and quantity. They couldnt fit my full order into the box so they gave me 1 broccoli (really?) and didnt include the watermelon radish even though I paid for it. Instead they gave me a lot of quinoa. Heres a suggestion, dont put the sauce into the box and give us a bag or use bigger container for people who add extras. That way you can fit the full order into the box. Anyways the food was good but I was a bit ripped off.
I have been going to K&K since 2019. In store the food was consistently decent, but recently I have been ordering K&K through hunger hub as a crew meal for the tv production I am on and I stopped being their client because the food is consistently poorly made and VERY overpriced. After a $13 smoothie that tasted like mud and a $25 bowl the size of a side salad and absolutely zero accountability even when contacted, my support of this company is done.
I had the Oaxaca bowl from the Brookfield location and the brown rice in it was very undercooked, so much so that I couldn t even bite some grains and had to just avoid eating rice. It s not difficult to cook rice but seems they have a beginner at rice cooking duties.
In town for a conference at Meridian Hall last week. This place was nearby and vegan so I went here for lunch. I tried the lentil soup as well as the tahini cauliflower bowl. Great food at a pretty good price and Im happy to see some vegan options in a mall food court. Vegetarian options: Vegan
The place was amazing! When we went there we enjoy the food and the service! We are gonna go there again! 10 outta 10
I started going to this location to grab a cappuccino and haven t stop since. It s the most delicious thing , I recommend it with oat milk and either cane sugar or vanilla. They have a very good service and great attitude. I always leave with a smile :)
Kupfert & Kim has been one of my go-to for many years. The diverse menu, featuring creative salads and bowls caters to various dietary preferences like mine. Their Oxaca bowl and almond lime are my favourites. Atmosphere is great and staff are always friendly. Highly recommended !
Really had a great time here , Great staff as well ill recommend the Chocolate Zucchini Muffin and the Acai Smoothie all while being Gluten Free will definetly come back to visit when im around !:)
It took a long time to be served. Especially with 2 available cashier and only 2 customers in the store. Vegetarian options: Very good.
Great place when trying to eat a bit healthier
Amazing dishes, very healthy, diverse and so fresh that they make you feel so much energized and well for the entire day. Lots of organic greens, vegetables, fruits, vitamin and protein rich components, very fulfilling and professionally prepared by an amazing staff. Ingredients can be easily switched for customized dishes and personnel is very polite and nice. Definitely highly recommended! A single First Canadian Place and Sunflower Pesto (are usually enough for two people) and Oaxaca are some of my favs.
I have been on gluten free due to Autoimmune, and remembered I craved for tropical exotic flavour when I first moved to Toronto, this place totally fulfilled my stomach, taste buds and eased the worries from all that gluten in food. Im hooked
The popular almond lime bowl is a favourite. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend this place for a vegan or vegetarian option.
Kupfert and Kim is my go to Vegan food. They have semi successfully convert me to become a part time vegetarian! The almond lime bowl is my favourite, followed by the Oxaca bowl. You will definitely not go hungry with this vegan meal.
Delicious, friendly staff and great prices. The Oaxaca bowl is phenomenal!!
It s just like all other K&K restaurants. The food is good but I wish the prices were more competitive. Vegan restaurants should prioritize delivering good quality food at lower prices because it s hard to convince general public to become vegan if the stereotype of vegan food being expensive is being reinforced.
I tried the congee & it was some of the best Ive had.
Food is decent but the girls that work there are rude and have poor customer service skills.
Been coming to K&K daily for over a year now so only felt right to leave a review! The food (I ve had nearly everything) is amazing. They keep the menu fresh by adding something new every few months. Since moving to a whole foods plant based diet over a year ago, K&K with their delicious boxes and smoothies, and always amazing staff (super helpful if you have any questions) has made this such an easy adjustment!
Almond lime bowl with tofu, fair price, size and taste
Freshii is better if you have the option go to freshii!!!!!!!!! It Tastes good dont get me wrong but the way my meal was prepared today didnt impress me. When I grabbed the box of food to take it away I could feel that it was light, the person who made my food barely put any race in the Box and sloppily through all the ingredients together. I also opened it up to realize that there is no protein, I guess Im so used to freshii that I forgot they dont add chicken or meat to the meal.
Not happy with what I have ordered through DoorDash. I specifically indicated that I don t want black beans to be added and they have put Most of the salad black beans!!! I don t think they ready any instructions added to the order
So amazingly delicious! The new vegan keto is excellent. Please keep that on the menu! I love K&K and so happy they are expanding to new location. One of the city s best healthy vegan food.
Once you get to know the staff their they are lovely and accommodating. I have digestive disorders and they usually don t mind me making extreme alterations to the menu. Food is so incredible. Thanks for the experience !
love it here!
Best K&K location due to the staff - so so friendly, I would honestly go there every day just to talk to them. They always fill your box too, so you ll be stuffed! Very very worth it :)
15 minutes for 2 smoothies. Waitress was hot but had the speed of a granny
FYI: No meat, no wheat. This place is our go-to lunch spot in the commercial district. Not gonna lie, its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you want a delicious, nutritious vegan meal that will make you feel amazing for the rest of the day, this is it! This place is consistent and reliably good.
Love that they offer organic, gluten-free, healthy and tasty options! Love the almond lime and oaxaca (I always have these with quinoa instead of brown rice). I am not vegan but these I love! Whats neat is that its near Union Station so if I am in a hurry, I always order here.
I stopped in to get a smoothie. I picked out the blueberry smoothie because it has lemon and vanilla which I thought would be great on a humid day. I was very surprised when the smoothie handed to me was warm. Not even slightly cold. It tasted alright but it was warm and so that really took away from the enjoyment. I unfortunately had to commute and get going or else I would have attempted to get a cold smoothie. However I really feel like if they were unable to make it cold in the first place they should have said as much. So yeah, not a great experience but maybe they were just out of ice?
Love the congee and waffles
I love the flavors and freshness of their bowls!
Delish food.
The poke bowl is definitely a must-have! I really enjoyed how fresh the ingredients were, and I cant wait to make my way back. Looking forward to my next visit!
Good food, I liked that the full ingredient list was available. Wished the calories were also posted.
Well, I was expecting more from this place. Food wasnt that good. Maybe it was just this location.
Ordered my lunch through mealpal but made an error with the pick up time. I came at 11:30 instead of 1:30. They would not accommodate me - I dont understand this? You want me to come back at a time that would be the busiest. Not impressed. Terrible customer service.
This branch provides the worst service of all. The people in the kitchen always move EXTREMELY slowly and never restock the condiment stand. I pre-ordered a meal online, and showed up 30 mins later, turned out--meal not ready and I had to wait in line with all! Whats the point of pre-order in this case? Terrible service, strongly recommend to avoid this branch. FCPs service and efficiency is much much better!
Quality has gone way down. Very disappointing. The food taste is above average
I ordered a smoothie. Someone plunked a drink on a counter far from me, without looking at me or saying anything. I asked another employee if that was my drink. She didnt know so got the one who plunked it on the counter. I asked her nicely if that was mine. She sarcastically said, IF YOUD LIKE! then flounced off. I gave a puzzled look to the nice employee, who started nodding her head. She must be used to interpreting for the rude employee. Since I had already paid for it, of course Id like it if it is mine! It was so rude that I wrote to their head office, who replied with a sarcastic email, saying how terrible it was that I was traumatized, etc. Ill never go back. Rude, rude, rude.
Such a unique place, love the food and creativity behind the dishes!
