327 Spadina Ave., Toronto, ON M5T 2E9, Canada
One of the most influential Hot Pot & BBQ restaurant in DT.
Here is something if you wanna try a different cuisine experience and it being Halal. This is a perfect place for winters and you wanna spend time with friends and family. You can keep serving yourself hot food and soup. I have also tried another hotpot place but this is a better one. They also have a small separate counter for creating your own dipping sauces which is cool. We tried different combinations of sauces. Must go for a aunthentic hotpot experience. They take only cash or debit as payment options.
I recently dined at this Hot Pot in Toronto, and it was a fantastic experience. The quality of the food was exceptional, bringing me right back to the authentic flavors of Chongqing. The spicy broth was rich and flavorful, and all the ingredients were fresh and plentiful—a real treat for anyone craving genuine Sichuan hot pot. The service was also outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist without being intrusive, which made the dining experience smooth and comfortable. Overall, I was impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere at this Hot Pot. Highly recommended!
The service is great! All the staff members do an amazing job. Jimmy is the absolute best, made our visit very positive. From answering phone calls to making sure you got everything you asked, he did an absolutely amazing job. There's plenty of varieties for food, I loved customizing the sauce. The grill combo is a must try. Didn't try the crab as they told it was imitation crab. There can be a few improvements, overall a nice experience.
Food this delicious and the service is excellent . The brown sugar jelly is a must and if you like spicy the tentacles is awesome too
We usually go to another hotpot place around the corner so it was great to have another option. The service and atmosphere is so much better here. Everyone is nice and the seating is very comfortable. Would definitely come back! The only feedback would be to have more options for grilling! Wasn't able to take better photos as we were so busy stuffing ourselves full! Always a great time having hotpot!
This was our very first experience with hot pot and I have to say we all LOVED it. The staff was there to guide us in how to achieve the best taste and results. Lots of different sauces and best of all, it’s all Halal. It’s easy enough for even the kids to enjoy and do things on their own. Can’t wait to go back again. Definitely recommend this place. Two thumbs up from us!
HALAL Big and clean restaurant in the heart of Chinatown, Hotpot with a variety of meat options and All You Can Eat Menu for $35.99 which is definitely worth it. Loved their Beef and the desserts were really unique as well. Would definitely recommend to try this place out if you are looking for an authentic hotpot experience. They also have a separate counter for creating your own dipping sauce. They only accept cash or debit as the mode of payment. Lovely customer service as well, extremely prompt and super friendly.
Our very first time at Chine Hot Pot was an adventure shared with close friends, and it turned out to be a gem of an evening. Stepping in, we found a cozy ambiance - not too crowded for a Friday night, which was perfect for us to unwind and enjoy each other's company. The star of the night? A fantastic waitress who warmly welcomed us and took the time to introduce us to the all-you-can-eat concept. Her patience in explaining the menu and guiding us through portion sizes was truly appreciated. We dived into an array of proteins like beef, chicken, and fish - a great selection for everyone's tastes. Sorry for the pork lovers since its Halal restaurant Our table quickly filled up with delicious raw meats during Round 1. The thinly sliced beef stole the show, alongside the flavorful spice beef that had everyone wanting more. Round 2 brought out tofu and vibrant veggies, and Round 3 was a sweet journey through an assortment of desserts. But the real fun? Cooking our own meals in the bubbling hot pot right at our table! It added an element of excitement and laughter to our night. The staff, so friendly and accommodating, ensured our visit was memorable. It wasn't just a meal; it was an experience we'll treasure for a long time - thanks to the delightful food, the warm service, and the joyous moments we shared."
Food is not good and they include mandatory tip even for small tables. Just add it to the price at that point
The waiters here are very nice and attentive. The ingredients are fresh and taste good.
I recently visited here, and it was an outstanding dining experience. The Tom Yum broth is amazing, all the service is very friendly and patience! They sell halal food, all the meat is very high quality and fresh. Highly recommend Chine legendary hot pot & bbq! I will back next week with my family !
I go here often whenever i get cravings for hot pot. Staff are friendly and nice. Serving time was quick enough during my visits. Food was good and i liked the broth options. Good place to go when I want to relax and eat some hot pot.
Price is quite deceitful.
This place is halal and the food was excellent great customer service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Came here for the set hot pot lunch. It was great! Reasonable price for a good amount of food. I was stuffed! Service was quick and friendly.
Great hot pot place and great service! Food was great!
pakistani and iranian friend liked golden bread and popcorn chicken the most
Very delicious, the meat is very fresh, there are two handsome waiters, and the service is very good. I will bring my friends to eat if I have the opportunity.
Nice Chinese hot pot! Good service and food. I really love this restaurant!
We had a group of 8 for dinner. Making reservation day of was easy. Everything was good and service was fantastic. Things came out quick. Appreciate the halal options. Would go back and recommend to others. Prefer this spot over some others in the area.
Was craving for halal hotpot so long and this place didnt disappoint me at all. Fully satisfied with food and their services
10/10 Vicky was the best server ever
Halal chicken, beef and lamb options. We got chicken and beef combo. It was a good price value. We liked the food.
Great Halal options and incredible service 100 % recommend! Food
I just went with my husband and friends, and had a great time! The space is big, clean and open, the staff is kind and explained everything, and the food was very good! I had the black chicken broth soup with several sides, and loved it. Totally recommend, and will order through Door dash!
The food was not fresh, on the verge of going bad. The teriyaki lamb was so awful that I literally spit it out on the spot. The fried chicken was predominantly batter than chicken, similarly for the shrimp paste, more starch than shrimp. Quite a few dishes came out completely unthawed and we just waited for it to defrost in front of us. The service was poor, rather inattentive too. I mean what can you expect when it s a mandatory 15%?
It has a separate Halal hotpot menu. The screaming chili beef is a must try.
This place is really horrible, I have been waiting here for 30mins and join the waiting list. However, the lady just allowed the 5 people and 4 people come inside without reservation and waiting time!!! And I double checked the waiting list on the frontline, there is no 5 and 4 people!!! And the lady gives the reason that we are clean the 2 people table. Honestly, I did not see any empty tables for 2 people!!!
Me and my girlfriend tried the tom yum and mushroom soup base for the hotpot. The mushroom one was 4/10 but the tom yum was horrible. The shrimps were dirty with full heads, garlic shrimp wasnt good, grilled special chicken breast was the worst, veggies portion was very little, the fishballs werent it. We tried the butterscotch and chocolate ice cream and they were really cheap quality. Very poor service, the first batch was early to serve but they totally forgot about the second round that we ordered, after asking for several times, we cancelled the second batch and to apologize they gave us 10% discount. the only good thing was the seafood tofu for the hotpot (6/10), the grilled beef(7/10). Try the crispy taro roll in dessert that one was good(8/10). The staff are really forgetful and ignorant. Overall our experience here was really bad. We couldn t enjoy neither the food nor the atmosphere.
Amazing service from the staff and especially Shawn with good food as well!
First of all, Shawn you are amazing! Such a nice guy. Service, food, and staff are excellent! All of them are very friendly and accommodating. Plus they all smile. A lot of options on the menu. The grill is really good too! Also, deserts are all delicious!!! Heaven! I can give this restau a 6 stars! Food
My wife and I had a great dining experience at our first hotpot restaurant. Excellent service with a very attentive and friendly waitress. I recommend 10/10
Very nice restaurant, fresh and delicious food and exceptional service, we will be back soon!!!
Amazing food! 5 stars for sure
Excellent food, phenomenal service
AMAZING halal spot! Must get the lamb and the condensed milk buns
Not bad
Was first time with hot pot and the staff were super helpful and kind, helped out with all questions we had and dish were great. Recommend!
WARNING! DO NOT GO TO THIS DIRTY RESTAURANT!!!! Carefully consider before going to this place or you will have FOOD POISONING like I had!!! I came to this restaurant quite often and recommended it to my friends, now Im regretting it. I came there last weekend, but the quality was extremely terrible. At first they gave me a dirty plate, I asked to change then they brought another one just took out of the dishwasher without drying it. That was not too bad until they brought us the vegetables full of DUST. Not one but it happened 3 times. As the result I had a food poisonous and diarrhea. They gave me 10% discount for bad service and dirty food which is ridiculous. 100% sure never come to this restaurant again.
This place is halal. Really good food here, and the service is very quick. My wife loved the shrimp and dessert options.
Overall the food was good and staff where amazing Parking: It was hard To find a parking that was available and close To the restaurant but their was a parking garage we found not to far away
Cafeteria atmosphere but excellent hot pot. Theyll adjust ingredients to your taste. Fish and veggies were delicious.
From the moment we walked in we felt like we were at home like we were treated by a family member. The staff is very friendly and always there to help. The food was delicious, including the sauces and the broth. We especially enjoyed the green tea lemonade, if we didn t live so far away, we d be here every week.
Received the worst service today. The guy waiter just grabbed the piece of paper without confirming the order. He gave us the wrong broth, and he refused to switch it out. Very rude. He then continue to gave us horrible service. Quality of food is bad. Will never go back. There are far better all you can eat hot pot near by, don t waste your money.
The whole experience was great out here. The choices on offering from beef to chicken to pork to mushrooms and sea foods are really impressive. If you get lucky enough to be tended to by Grace, then your experience is definitely going to be a 5-star one at the end of the day. Never mind that the ice cream comes in small cups, please ensure you try some of them for dessert.
Halal
The hot pot itself was alright. I ordered the spicy broth and it was definitely unique in its aroma. However, the veggies portions that came with the order (I did not do AYCE) was extremely unsatisfying in quantity. There was less than 10 pieces of torn up cabbage. Also, they have a 15% gratuity automatically added to the bill. This is fine, atleast they informed me. My issue is, I went at lunch on a week day and I was the only one in the restaurant! Overall, I would not recommend, try the Mini Pot that s nearby instead for better value and food!
Really like this hot pot place as there usually space it s not that much different than the place just south which always has a line. Food comes out fast and it s the same frozen food.
spicy hotpot beef k worded my meemaw
The food is delicious and price is not high. I like their beef slices.
Spicy broth is literally awesome (recommend spicy broth to those who resist spicy and dont be over confident with your ability :) )and food is fresh!
Really great, service was amazing
Used to be my go-to spot, but in recent visits, the experience has been extremely sub-par. Customer service was poor, the lights and walls are visibly coated with thick coats of dust. The sauce station doesnt look like its taken care of properly, with ingredients looking old or stale. They also consistently do not get orders correct (bringing out wrong items or miss them entirely) and for 39$ a head, youd expect some decent service, and on top of all that, there is a 15% service fee (even during non-rush times and for all parties, not just parties above a certain number). The food quality is nothing amazing that you wouldnt find at most other hot pot locations. Most likely will never return to this location ever again.
An ordinary, ordinary store
food overpriced gave us ends of a cabbage, service? i cook myself plus extra for grill ? for what as if there isnt a 15% service fee for just bring the food to us for us to cook
One of my favourite hotpot places in Toronto. Located right in the heart of China Town and one of the 2 (I think) restaurants that serve halal meat. Their broth is so flavourful and all the food items are very tasty. I particularly like the screaming beef and spicy beef, lobster ball, and the ramen. Fried taro roll and golden bread is also very very good. They also put up sauce recommendations which is very helpful. The service is pretty good too. The staff is attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and great atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: They serve halal hotpot which is amazing! Both beef and chicken is halal.
First hotpot it was awesome! Waitress and waiters were super attentive. Tasted great!
Great service and options for hotpot. Also love the different broths they have especially the Tomyum one.
One of the top hot pots in town. Great AYCE. The staff are fantastic.
I am regular here and they started charging service fee which is fine because i always leave tips anyways. But the problem is they added 15% of service fee already but when they give us the card machine, there is another tip screen to add the tip. I am pretty sure some people may leave double tip over there. But the food is so good and servers are nice!
Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! Ingredients were pretty fresh and relatively varied, service was quick enough and the soup base wasnt anything intrusive. Pretty decent hot pot for ayce. Food : 4/5
I would like to ask if it is closed at 8:30 when there are few people, why should it be written to close at 11 oclock? Is it the bosss decision? We drove half an hour from the north to eat here. We hope to get a reply.
Went for Christmas dinner with the family and made reservations. I came early and there was no wait for our table. We were seated immediately. Service was quick and efficient. Thanks for the servers who brought us the food we ordered (which was a lot of food). The great thing about this restaurant is that you get your own hot pot and get to choose your own broth. Highly recommend
Delicious food and great service!
Came to Chine to have a great dinner but unfortunately felt unimpressed by their approach to hotpot. Most of my complaints are directed to the quality of the food being critically sub par for the price. The squid was unpleasant and had an extremely pungent smell, indicating it was far from being fresh. The fried popcorn chicken had some pieces with 90% batter. The broth isn t anything outstanding compared to other places I have been to. As for service, all was decent until the end. We ordered our desserts which took around 20 minutes to come out (the restaurant was not busy during this time). We had to ask our servers if they were still working on them, however, the server needed to ask us for our order again after waiting for an unnecessary amount of time. As someone who has hotpot very often, for an establishment charging nearly $50 per person, I was greatly disappointed and can say that there are better options elsewhere.
Best damn hot pot I have ever eaten
Some of my friends are Muslims so we got the halal menu which was really thoughtful of the owner for doing this. The staff are well trained for this kind of request. Its hard to get any hotpot which is halal in downtown, so it was a big plus. They have some variety of beef and veggies. But after the 1st round of AYCE, you dont feel like eating anymore. I guess they need to include more mixture of meats. But overall it was a great experience.
Beyond amazing- best part halal Follow me @shamiadewan on insta Food : 5/5
I saw a review that it was Halal all you can eat and decided to stop by. We went around 3:00 pm and it was not too busy. The server was amazing and gave us a booth with space for my stroller. Very clean space and fast service. There was so many options to choose from and we definitely felt it was worth it. It is $36 before tax for adults and a 15% service charge which is well deserved, considering their excellent customer service. Would love to stop by again!
Hot pot place in the middle of downtown Chinatown. Decent selection of ingredients to order for hot pot and decent quality with the exception of the sliced meats that come with as much fat as they do meat. Service while nice is a bit slower.
The store is at its peak when it opens. I went there recently and its not as good as before. The bottom of the pot has no flavor, there are very few ingredients, and the fried things are all re-fried. I also brought a 15% tip.
Seems like they are always understaffed so you will have a difficult time finding a servers attention to get and the prices are fairly high here but it is my fav hot pot spot so far tbh! They have a delicious tom yum broth that I love and some yummy desserts for after your meal
start with 50 in the food check box
bad no employees will tell you if u put 1 in the boxes. There is literally no food
Great place! But the price is actually38 dollars on weekends, not 25+6 like the menu says.
Came here on a Saturday night and it was packed! I would recommend making a reservation at least a few hours in advanced so you would not have to wait 1 hour (completely our fault but its located in Chinatown so we just walked around and went into random shops to pass time which was fun to explore). It was a nice, simple atmosphere. Service was very friendly and efficient. The food was served quickly and it was delicious! One of us got the Legendary Spicy Broth Mild and as someone who can handle their spice, mild might be the perfect level for you to enjoy the spicyness without suffering from the heat (unless thats how you like it!). There were plenty of food options, and even fried snacks like popcorn chicken which my table really enjoyed! Its AYCE and theres a 5% discount if you pay cash so all-in-all, I would say it was really worth it! As others mentioned, they already included a service charge but did not mention it to us so just make sure to read your bill carefully.
Location is convenient, the meat is fresh. But not really stands out.
Booked here for a birthday party yesterday for several people. Before booking we called to confirm they have vegetarian soup options for a few of the guest. When we arrived we were greeted by a server and told the vegetarian option was the chicken soup.... Unfortunately after trying to understand we realized they have no vegetarian option only a chicken soup base and had to leave to find reservations elsewhere. Very unorganized - cash and debit only / no credit cards allowed.
The food is quick, the service is good, and the waiters are warm
I had a meal here with my friends today and it was very delicious. The service attitude was very good and great, very enthusiastic. When we first came to the store, we had many questions and the waiter patiently answered them for me. The ingredients are also very fresh and the music in the store is nice. Today I dropped my chopsticks on the floor, and before I even had time to call the waiter, they helped bring a new pair of chopsticks. Good review!
Today I come here to eat with my friends, the waiter is very good attitude to serve food quickly, we have any confused questions the waiter will answer one by one, the overall dining environment is very good, they will also send tissues to every table during we re eating , thank them for their hard service!
Ummm I was not really satisfied with their all you can eat hot pot. It was not as good as the customers reviews said.
The service is very good, the ingredients are fresh and the taste is good. I will come again next time!
Personalised service and very attentive. Feels like visiting a relatives home. Nice :)
It is a perfect hot pot restaurant that very worth trying. The dishes are very rich, especially the meat is very fresh, and the snacks are also very rich. I highly recommend the Legendary spicy broth, which is very satisfactory. The store is also very clean.
I liked it, so who cares!!
Favourite hotpot place in downtown Toronto! Clean food and tasty. Perfect customer service.
The ingredients are good enough quality, quick service and nice interior. It is a fun experience with friends but for how expensive it is I wouldn t recommend. They have even created a new fee if you don t finish all the food within the 2 hour limit. The staff are not very friendly and honestly made me uncomfortable. They are always standing around looking at you until you literally stare back at them. I ve been here many times and each have been subpar. It is a good enough one time experience but I would not go again.
The food was great . We enjoyed our meal. The staff was helpful when asked questions. They were very busy, and we were not always checked on.
Great hotpot experience! Amazing customer service and knowledgeable team that will help you thru incase your a beginner at this. The various sauces and rich broths ( I recommend the legendary spicy broth) and fresh cuts of meats made it worth it. Delicious. I would go into detail about the broths and menu but I would rather yall go and check it out for yourselves. Kid-friendliness: Kids can eat here with parental supervision as the food is hot. Also a great way for them to have veggies without hassle lol Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of space for wheelchairs as the tables are big and high enough to eat without feeling cramped and uncomfortable
Amazing service and food. Great variety whether it be broth, ingredients, or dessert!
If you go by two people, you have to share table with others, this is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard from a restaurant. Plus service is very slow.
Good
took my lil cousin for her first time, everyone loved it! the vegetable ingredients were very fresh n the servings generous!
I like this place alot more than the other hot pot places in Chinatown. Loved the sweet potato and corn soup, also the deep fried mantou, rice cakes and crispy taro rolls. The ingredients could be fresher but they all came quickly and service was prompt. Would come back!
Selection was really good and had everything you would expect. Got most of the things we ordered. Service was good too
Of all the hotpots in dt toronto, this one doesnt particularly standout in decor, style, location or even meat quality. But what you get in return is the kindest, most good hearted staff members (that arent come and go) and the most attentive care under the amount of food sources theyll get. Great variety of dessert including the mint ice jelly which is arguably the best in town, as well as carefully treated organ meats of various sorts. They dont have fancy decors but are careful enough to provide nice and clean amenities. and they charge so reasonably when taking inflation into account. they have an excellent staff that cooks spot on cook foods, and overall they are just a treat of an experience to have.
I have been to many ayce hotpot places on Spadina but i keep finding myself coming back here. Their food quality and service are always consistent good. Their restaurant is always clean. Whenever I bring my friends here, they all love it and would want to come back. Perfect place for gathering regardless of the occasion.
Our experience was fun and relaxing and charming.
Vegetarian options: mushroom broth is vegan and lots of beam curd + veggie options Food
We tried four different soup bases and they all felt a little bland and the quality of the food and service aren t as good as the competition within the same price range.
All of food was so good quality. especially staff was so kindly
We were forced to pay 15% tips. The staff was nice but the policy is so crazy.
I was really excited to eat here, but it was really disappointing. We got the seafood hot pot and the spicy combo. The seafood was literally one piece of each and the sides of meat was just two of each. My squid tentacles ended up being a piece of squid with the gladius and an eye still intact and it smelt really bad. The spicy combo we got tasted like they just dumped all the worlds salt in it to the point where it made us feel sick. The staff barely said like 5 words to us the whole time, they ve increased their prices and they have 15% tip automatically in the bill. Totally not worth it.
I ve been going to Chine for a few years and it s been consistently solid. I grew up eating hotpot so not much stands out to me except for the pork blood tofu which is my fav, it s pretty standard but there is a good variety to choose from. Friendly servers and clean washroom.
Average hot pot location
Great hotpot
I visited this place twice within a week !!!My dietary preference is halal food and I was extremely happy with the options that they had on the halal menu. The staff here is extremely warm, friendly and helpful.I will definitely visit this place again 10/10 would recommend.Their legendary spicy broth is to die for please do try this broth if u enjoy spicy food!!!
Unique experience, cooking your own food in hot pots with spice levels as hot as you can handle!
Its all you can eat extremely delicious halal food, dessert is included too! Having the time of my life
Love this place, very good selection of sauces. They are able to accomodate pretty big greats, would come back
Sooooo much food! Hot pot is amazing, so cozy, so warm!
Super nice staff - very friendly and patient as well
Really good food! Fun experience and the staff is very helpful.
Good lunch portion. About 20 dollar per person if going for lamb/beef/seafood platter. The broth is delicious.
They did not tell us what to do. Just wanted us a menu and we had to figure it out. They didnt explain the boiling process. And we couldnt pay by credit. Just cash
Nice people, mandatory 15% tip, no help with new experience customers and no visa accepted. Brought clients for dinner and they had to pay debit with me paying them back because they only accepted cash or debit. Unreal considering the cost of a meal like this.
The staff were super nice and accommodating. I chatted them in Mandarin and confirmed the meat supplier was (halal). The soup base can be adjusted for specific dietary restrictions as well. The staff were very attentive and explained to us in detail what ingredients are in each dish/soup. It s such a great restaurant! Vegetarian options: A large variety of veggies and tofu; customizable soup base Dietary restrictions: Halal/pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan
the tip is way too high
We enjoyed the hotpot so much!! and the smoothies!!
Great experience overall. I really like that they had a menu with all halal items only! Dietary restrictions: Halal options
Chine Legendary Hot Pot was an amazing experience. Went today for their lunch meal hot pot. It was delicious and satisfying. The lunch meal: choose the combo youd like (we opted for the beef combo - $15.99); then choose the soup base (one person chose the tomato non-spicy broth, one chose the chicken and pork both - add $2.00); then choose the carb (one chose the ramen, while the other chose udon - no charge). From there, you can choose to pay for add ons, desserts, or snacks. We did get the crispy taro rolls ($3.99/2 pcs) and golden bread with condensed milk ($2.99/6 pcs) - just couldnt resist. As you can see from the image, portions were generous, fresh, and each lunch combo comes with a nice assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, and seafood sides. The tomato soup was tart and savory; the chicken and pork broth was a nice base for all the ingredients. The ramen had a nice bite and chew as was the udon. I cant rave enough about the food. For the price you pay, it was an excellent assortment of food and the soup was delicious, truly. Staff was attentive and polite. There is a sauce area for you to build your own sauces to dip your cooked foods. So much fun and so tasty. Make sure to grab a soup bowl from that area to eat your cooked foods. It was our first time so we needed a lot of support! Best part of all of this: place was clean. Bathroom was clean as well (always a bonus!). The crispy taro rolls and golden bread - also yummy - crunchy and sweet! We were so satisfied - quality food, clean, polite staff, and overall a pleasurable experience. Will definitely be back!
Great food and service, the food came out at lightning speed and was delicious, if its your first time eating hot pot then come here for a great experience also halal food
A favourite for gathering with friends
Ehhh, good enough I guess but with a better quality more competitively priced hotpot spot across the street it s hard to justify the visit. The new $37.99 price point (which isn t displayed on their website btw) + a mandatory 15% service charge before tip + tip + tax works out to be ~$55 on a weekend. The meat quality is just okay and the vegetables were unwashed / wilting. Poor upkeep on the sauce station as there were bits of other sauce ingredients cross contaminating each other and some of the liquids were starting to solidify from being there so long. If you want a new place to try and you ve already exhausted all the good hotpot spots, give this place a try. Otherwise go across the street to Liuyishou.
This was truly my first experience at a Hot pot and it was a very cool event! You get to pick your broth and pick any of the toppings you want to be cooked inside. You have to cook the meats and veggies to your liking and enjoy the hot pot flavours! Careful with the spice level, it gets hot! I recommend the Tom Yom soup base.
The hotpot was good, but I left quite concerned about the 15% service fee that was applied to the total. The server did warn us about it, but it came across as being a mandatory gratuity. It isn t. This is problematic for two reasons: 1) Since this fee appears on its face to be an auto-gratuity, I almost didn t tip. Reading the reviews here, many customers think the same. So, in other words, the owner is pocketing this fee at the expense of the staff (since many customers don t tip as a result of it). This is awful. 2) This is a junk fee. If the owner must charge 15% more to be profitable, the prices should be 15% higher. By hiding the higher cost in this service fee, the real prices are actually understated by 15%. This is misleading.
This restaurant is so disgusting. The meat is unclean and the soup is unclean. How can I have the nerve to ask for a tip?
Fresh and delicious food! Service was very fast although they were quite busy.
Atmosphere is awesome. Servers are very friendly and helpful. They instructed me to mix my dipping sauce. Tomato broth is very tasty. I ll definitely come back!
This is a perfect hot pot restaurant for a family party. Personally I would recommend the tomato broth. The quality of food is good especially the lamb and beef slice. The crispy taro roll and sweet sticky rice cake are my favorite desserts. Servers are friendly and careful. Their washroom is so clean. We ll definitely come back with more friends.
My favorite AYCE hot pot restaurant in downtown. I ve been here many times. The special beef slice is very tasty. Service is always fast.
My experience in this restaurant is perfect, not only because of their food but also because of their service. Their food looks very fresh. I ate spinach, which is very fresh. I like their tomato broth and Tom Yum broth very much. If you like tomatoes or Tom Yum, I strongly suggest you try. But I dont like their meatballs, because they are frozen. I dont like to eat food that I cant see the raw materials. I like their beef slices and lamp slices, shrimp and noodles very much. I suggest you try them. And their services was great! This is my first time here, waiter patiently teaches me how to order. When there is no soup in your broth, they will ask if you need more soup to cook your food. The price is not very expensive, I think at least, 30 Canadian dollars, there re 15% mandatory tips, but I give them more, the service is just great. There is seafood, I think it is very suitable for people who like seafood, because they have mussel, shrimp and squid, you can eat as much as you want!
Such a lovely hot pot place to go with family and even my little ones. The broth and food items are delicious! It s halal!!! confirmed by the owner. Enjoy it with your family! Dietary restrictions: Halal
The server needs training in customer service. I requested a Fish (seafood) broth. I do not want any meat products in my broth. At almost at the end of my dinner, the server admitted to me that there is actually chicken broth that I had consumed instead of Fish (seafood) broth.
Tried their regular menu food. It was really delicious and if you like authentic spicy food. This place got it. Really popping in my mouth. They charge 15 service fee but I m fine with it. Really good food!
Good food! Good service!
AMAZING dinning experience! Had the all you can eat and worth the money! The spicy soup was the best! Food
Interesting place with good food and service. The space is tight and there are no adequate provision for jacket stands.
Been to Chine a few times and it used to be good but lately I ve been disappointed. It s not as clean as it used to be. It smelled very fishy as soon as I walked in and they ve since added in a 15% service fee. Not a huge fan of that. Service was good though, and AYCE is always a plus for hot pot.
The closed time is 11.00 pm When we were in the restaurant A server tried to talk in many ways to refuse our dine-in. She told me 9.30 is the last call while I sat down and was ordering she came to me and said last call is actually 9.20pm for today ( at that moment 9.07 pm) it s disappointed then I asked her what time are you guys closed ? She said today we will close earlier because it s not too busy. Yesss now I totally got it why is this restaurant is not busy. if you guys wanna close early just change your opening hours.
First time going to hotpot and I was not disappointed!! It was such an awesome experience! The marinated beef might be the best meat on the menu tbh. The staff was quiet but friendly and were quick to make room taking empty plates away. I had the spicy broth I chose mild spicy but it was the broth had lots of flavour and added great seasoning to my food but next time Ill be trying something with 0 spice. 3rd round = dessert for me and the golden buns with condensed milk were amazing highly recommend this place Ill be going back but with even more people!
Do not serve any alcohol at all :( Kitchen closes at 9-45, and 1, 15 before closing
Realy good original food here
Absolutely amazing staff is so nice and understanding, highly recommended for any first time hot pot goer!!:)
The food was good but expensive, and the service is terrible, got wrong food multiple times and had to remind them of our order. had to wait ages to receive food and they never come to your table
My fav go to hot pot place. Took a Pakistani classmate today and discovered their beef/lamb is halal ! He loved everything. Their legendary spicy soup base is nicely fragrant and not too spicy (I get mild , its perfect). My favorites are the crispy fried pork slices, beef tongue, intestines, jumbo shrimp, and super wide/chewy sweet potato vermicelli. For dessert, cant go wrong with watermelon, golden fried bun, deep fried sweet sticky rice cake, and sweet sticky rice ball soup
Not the best service at all. Went for dinner on a hot day, found the restaurant to be more warm than outside. Asked the waitress to turn up the A/C or at least provide a fan but she declined. Had to step outside a few times to cool off because my smartwatch notified me twice that my heart rate was unusually high. They also started brooming the floor after 9:30 (even though they close at 11), regardless of the fact that the restaurant was full of diners, which I found very unsanitary.
The pickled fish pot bottom is worth trying! Open the high heat and pour the water and cook it. The sour soup is a bit strange to cook beef and mutton, but it is delicious to cook Chinese cabbage/beef louver/fish! The braised chicken feet cooked in spicy pot are also amazing! The buffet ended perfectly with watermelon and ice cream! But other ingredients are average, not very fresh and the quantity is very small. The waiters look like students working part-time, and some of them have average attitudes. I asked a girl to help place an order and she gave me a blank look. It s okay to try something new, but it s not worth checking in.
The food is not fresh, including the meat. There s not a lot of options either for a hot pot restaurant. Particular staff is rude and not welcoming at all. We got here for about an hour and they came over saying we had to leave because we are over the 2 hour eating time window. We were never told about the time window either. Overall not a pleasant experience, especially not for the price. Also fyi the waiter stares at you while you tip them which was a bit awkward. Could be that we were just unlucky this time. However, I would recommend going somewhere else if you could.
Everyone gets their own hotpot! One of the better All You Can Eat hotpot spots downtown. Would highly recommend for small and big groups. Friendly staff and good quality sauce bar!
The price for AYCE is 27.99 plus price for hot pot soup. The meat and vegetable are pretty fresh given that we came on the last round. We digged into the food right away, even forgot to take the pics. The reason why I dont give 5 is to leave room for improvement on food selection. Must try their Deep Fried Golden Bread and Plum Juice. Overall, worth a try.
The taste is okay, but the 15% tip is already included in the bill? ? ! Dont come, its not worth it
Always an amazing meal here! Able to accomodate GF, vegan, diets. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Its a favourite for sure! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options! Dietary restrictions: Could accommodate GF (though we didnt ask about celiac-safety as it was an intolerance).
I don t usually write reviews.. but it was really inappropriate that you added the service fee to our bill without telling us.. and didn t even acknowledge the fact that several items were missing from our order! We have been here before and really enjoyed it. This time was different. Several items missing in our order from the start. I had to get up and walk to front - (staff were eating) to ask for our food. A bowl of rice arrived before anything and was cold! Bizarre experience! This happed a couple of times. Food was okay.. but we prob won t return. When we got our bill- service (tip) was automatically added!
Random charges that add up significantly, food was mediocre to okayish, the table is a bit small and cramped, but the bathroom is nice.
Nice Hot Pot place with a very good selection of ingredients. Sadly they didnt stick to our selection of courses, maybe they thought we Westerners dont know how the order form works. They dont accept credit cards, so either have cash or debit handy.
Great selection - with loads of vegetable options. Sally is super! Very helpful and welcoming. Well be back for sure!
I loved this!! Ive never been to hot pot before and have always wanted to try. They had a great selection of ingredients. I loved trying all the different things! Their pork intestine and fried pork ribs were the highlights for me. So yummy. The lamb was also great and I loved both dumplings, but especially the wontons! Sauce bar was fun and I was happy to see it was still there since Ive heard a lot of them closer over covid. Was quite expensive - $44/pp - but for the amount of stuff you get, worth it, and I liked that it was all you can eat so you didnt have to be doing the math on how much you were spending
Very good! Expect long wait times for a table in the evening.
Promised a table in 20-30 mins for 2 people. Forgot about us and said we can either share a table with 4 other people or wait 60-70 minutes.
Service was good, however, there was was some fruit flies around the restaurant and my food. The ingredients were not as fresh as Id like. For example, the broccoli had started to discolour. Chicken was poor, very bland and fatty cuts. Enjoyed their beef and pork cuts.Mild spice broth was good, but some might consider it too spicy. Also selection of sauces and condiments was less than it shows in some google pictures.
Food is great., clean dinning and washroom. Recommend place to eat especially during cold months. We enjoy the food and service as a family.
The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fun however there were no prices on the menu and at the end I was shocked at the price of the bill although I havent been out in a while. The service was also not great. Yes it was a busy Saturday night but we were not happy to have to ask 3 times for some of our items. Which makes it fairly convenient that the tip is included in the bill. It was delicious but I wont be back.
Previously we preferred to do hot pot at home. However, the breadth of ingredients and individual broth pots has made this our go to for hot pot. The servers are friendly if a bit harried. Food quality is solid.
3 stars for the amazing food and that s what matters most. However considering the service, atmosphere, and price, I would never go back.
It was very delicious, widely recommended.
A place well worth a try! Self-service hot pot, the price is very affordable, the food is served very quickly, and the food tastes very good! Have been here many times.
The fried chicken nuggets are very delicious. I recommend the hot pot with tomatoes and spicy sauce. It is a restaurant worth trying!
A solid hotpot experience. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The menu was extensive but in a good way. The food was fresh and came very quickly. Its cool that they have little guides at the sauce table to help you make different traditional sauces. A was a nice spot for an weekday afternoon lunch date. Vegetarian options: The server was very helpful identifying which broths were or could be made vegan friendly.
This restaurant was my goto place and I loved the food and service. Now they rise their prices, tables get dirty, flies around me all the time, food not fresh and smell awful. Not worth it, they force a 15% tip, which is not ok at all. Please avoid all the costs
Great food selection, all you can eat, and cheap soy milk pitchers. I only wish they had a better spread for making sauces and the inclusion of alcoholic beverages on their menu.
Originally left a 5 star review, now changing to 1 star. Came at 9:30 when they close at 11 and they wouldn t seat us saying the kitchen was closed ridiculous
note that you have to pay for soup prices ($5-7) on top of the regular pricing and service was added to our bill already (group of 4). we did have to wait a while for our soup to come (~20 mins) while being served some veggies first before having soup. food and ingredients were decent quality. servers refilled our soup when it was running low which was nice. a solid hot pot spot in the heart of Chinatown.
Was a good experience and the food was amazing
Was dissatisfied with the broth but service was fast and nice. There are also a lot of food options and they were really good. Price is not bad, they already charge you a tip of 15% in the bill and only accepts debit & cash
Went for all you can eat on a Sunday night. It is a good deal for the price. However, service was lacking. To be fair, it was full when we got in, but it died down quickly as people started leaving. The table next to us (which sat just a little before us) received plates, spoons, napkins and chopsticks before the broth arrived. Ours didnt, we asked the server for them, but he never brought them, so we had to grab them ourselves. The food and broth were just okay. Food took forever to come and many items were missing. The bill includes a 15% gratuity, which is fine, but given the (lack of) service, is definitely more than they deserve. But once again, its a good deal, but dont really crave coming back.
Great place to enjoy preparing your way your meat, fish, veggie choices for an all you can eat experience.
