Wish the portions were a bit larger (3 dumps a serving) but good quality and taste. Also decent deals on Uber Eats.
Came here for dumplings and malatang soup, and they did not disappoint. They've changed the name and the sign, so it was a bit confusing heading in. The dumplings were decent, and I had a large selection of veggies to choose from for the soup. There is of course every other item you'd want to put into a hotspot, but I was happy with my vegetarian selection. I would definitely come back.
Such a great find! You can pick your soup base and all your ingredients and they'll cook it for you. Loved the herbal pork belly & chicken broth. They also have a ton of other food options (savoury pancakes, dumplings ofc etc.). Very reasonable price and delicious!
Small portion size. One of the item looks half eaten. Ask for utensils. Didn't get any. Ordered 6 items and asked for spicy sauce, only gave me 1 pack. One of the pork dumpling, looked like it had shrimp inside (I can't eat shrimp).
I come here every time when I visit my friend in Toronto. This place has the greatest taste and quality of food compared to other places I’ve been to. The owners are very nice and the customer service is also very good. I recommend the soup base called ”东北麻辣拌”. The savoury taste and price is unbeatable among the other similar restaurants. Five stars for the fresh food and fantastic tastes here!
I really waned to like this spot in Chinatown. Everything seemed to be promising.. a full house and an authentic atmosphere with a menu to match. The menu is simple to read and understand with multiple languages and staff that tended to the tables' needs. The steamed pork, shrimp and chive dumplings just lacked so much flavour. even when adding soy sauce and vinegar, there was not much to taste at all. Though for the price of 15 for $15, its hard to make a huge complaint. The fried dumplings were better with a great fried bottom that was crispy and crunchy in all the right spots, even if flavour was one again lacking. We also ordered beef fried noodles which were fine, but didn't come with much beef or flavour. The portions were great for the price though. Overall, gives you what you expect but nothing special at all. Value is there for the price. Would not oppose to stopping by.
This place is absolutely delicious. The flavors bring me back to mainland China. The owner is incredibly helpful and kind. I love their "assemble your own" soups. Lots of items to select from. Veggies are fresh. Dumplings hit the spot. Crushed cucumber salad is so refreshing amongst all the spicy goodness.
Small joint where the owner is from Ningxia Autonomous Region. He's a down-to-earth person. I never noticed this place despite having lived in downtown for many years - I asked the owner if it's a new restaurant and he said it's been in operation for quite a few years now. The menu seemed to be a mix of dishes from different parts of China. I ordered the grilled cold noodles (a northern Chinese speciality), the sweet and sour pork loin and the eggplant. The service was fast and the dishes were all well cooked. My only complaint was that each bowl of rice cost $3. Would come back for a quick lunch/dinner of Chinese comfort food.
Super good! I ate there and came back for takeout the next day. I recommend for those who know or want to discover Chinese cuisine. The jianbing are like in the country.
Their service is so nice! I ordered chive and pork pan fried dumplings, lots of filling and not too salty. Store isn t fancy, almost like a food court, but it s very clean.
Service: nice and kind Environment: clean and neat Price: around 15~20 dollars person Food: I like spicy soup! Will try other soup next time. Like this store very much, recommend
Unbelievably tasty dumplings! The food arrived piping hot and we enjoyed it immensely. Thank you!
The owner never behaves good to the customers and the delivery guys
Very tasty food and nice people
Wow! I was looking for somewhere to eat dumplings close to my rental, but what a wonderful discovery! Flavors!!! I have no words to describe my joy! Simply delicious. So delicious, what a nice discovery, flavors are just insane!
Really yummy and fresh ingredients. The mala dry pot was excellent. You can pick your own dry or soup base. Great service too!
The food was absolutely fantastic one of the best meals I ve had in a long time. The beef and onion dumplings were fantastic. The service was good also and the atmosphere was very cozy.
Delicious food. Its the best. The place is very clean and well lighted.
The pork, chive, and shrimp pan fried dumplings is a must try!
Great options and fantastic service.
Very slow for uber orders, drivers had to wait a lot
The food are average, with the dumpling being a bit salty. Also the staff can be forgetful. I ordered a steam dumpling, and was told to wait for 20 minutes. When the order came out, the dumplings were pan-fried...
Good food, would come again. Could easily have enough for 2 people at a good price.
Malatang is delicious and the ingredients are fresh. Its a great experience for me.
Good
we wandered in off the street like two lost birds in a storm and warmed ourselves in a bath of broth and delicious soup dumplings. in the event of a fire I would have chosen to stay in my seat, eating those dumplings.
Had the soup dumplings, very good. Good prices and good portions
Love the food here. Tried Malatang here for the first time-it s basically a bowl of a Chinese soup except you can customize the soup base, the protein and veggies. You pay based on the weight. The quantity is great, easily fills up 2 people in $40-$50!
My go-to place for malatang. It s like a Chinese hotpot but a lot more affordable than the hotpot restaurants in Chinatown. You can choose ur ingredients and soup base. I usually get the spicy mala soup. It s really great. I would definitely recommend it if you want to try some traditional Chinese cuisines
This restaurant only sells dumplings and has a very high variety. The behavior of the staff there was also good
Love this place! The malatang is so flavourful
Priced by weight. Build your own meal with good taste! Love the sweetn sour version of malaban
Good food with good service
Malatang is delicious. I also ordered a fried dumpling. The kids ate a lot and even packed one to take away when they left.
This restaurant is like 2 restaurants in one - a dumpling restaurant and a malatang one. It is my favourite malatang restaurant in downtown Toronto. Malatang is like hotpot but almost better, as you select your ingredients, your soup base, and pay by weight. They then cook it for you and you ll receive a big bowl of delicious noodles. This place is my favourite because they have a good selection of ingredients, good prices, nice staff, and good soup base options (ones that aren t spicy as well as dry noodles bases). A hidden gem - would 100% recommend!
Very tasty. The boss very kind and I feel very welcomed.
Price is very reasonable, dish has big amount, and most importantly, yummy!
tastes great
Keep coming back for crushed cucumber salad and dumplings. The fresh herbs in the dumplings make the difference. Sweet and Sour soup is delicious.
Delicious food at great prices. Ordered delivery and got their cold noodles, Chinese crepes, and pan fried buns. Everything was made well and cooked to perfection. Great prices for portions.
friendly staff :) good food the self-service sauce was very cool they dont have napkins ready on the table though... so i had to ask, but they only gave one... but i will definitely come again though!
Great variety of mix ins and broths for do-it-yourself hot pot and tasty scallion pancakes + dumplings. I ll definitely be back.
The fried skewers are good, I recommend the pork belly, but the rest is just average. The sesame paste liangpi has too much garlic and is very spicy.
Really great food. Very reasonable prices. Service was excellent.
Thank you for the friendly service! Reasonable price as well if I have chance I will come back to this place and try out other things.
Dumpling and more, all perfect. Working days on google might not be accurate, it was open at 10 pm on a Saturday
Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic and delicious food in Chinatown. Big portions.
Amazing place for your dumpling and chive pie fix.
Terrible fried rice and dumplings. When asked for fried dumplings, they ll just bring the boiled one. When complained about it, the restaurant owner says, it s much healthier option.
Best deep fried green beans in Toronto.
Large plate of chicken without noodles
I like that they do not add a lot if oil to the dishes and the texture of homemade pancakes and dumplings is really good. You can also veganize lots of dishes here, just need to write it down on the paper.
Portions reflect price for sure. So delicious definitely suggest beef dumplings and the chive pancake but could go on cuz we ordered 5 dishes, ate a ton and left w food
