Sunday open 9-30 AM
The food catered today for my friends birthday was simply awesome. It was like home cooked food. It was Kadhi pakora, aloo baigan and Shahi paneer. We all enjoyed the Sunday lunch. Thank you
We had Halwa Puri and Tea was so good, that I had an extra Tea
I moved away from Scarborough years ago but I was a regular here for years buying their mithai. Over the weekend was in the area and it has not changed. The burfi is amazing...they have the best chocolate burfi around! Their selection is great. Uncle behind the counter is very friendly. Good to see their quality has not changed over the years!
We bought a chole bature and samosa, chole bhature was not good in taste and also chole was not fresh. Tea was ok
Great place. Reasonable prices. Amazing food. Great Service. Uncle is too sweet and kind. Works hard. It’s so impressive to see him working hard. Food is really delicious. Tried various items like Chole Bhature, Kadhai Paneer, Jalebi is too good. Tea is great as well. Also it’s situated in a location where we have lot of offices. So it’s great for those who’re working and want to eat something tasty within budget. I’d rather come here every day than going to Tims or any other place for a light snacking. Worth the try! Must try place.
Tried this place for the first time. The Chole Bhature were really good as compared to the other Indian restaurants I tried in GTA. The place to improvise is with their chole, could be a little for spicy for Indian Pallets. Also liked the small portion of Gajar Ka Halwa.
Still has to be one of my Favourite Places for Samosas and Butter Chicken in the City. They are both phenomenal every time I get them. I’m not sure about the other things as I only get that when I go here.
Update - came back here few days after labour day for more samosas and sweets. The samosas are now $0.75 cents each …. Ordered 1lb of motichoor ladoo- it was good. So came here because I have heard a lot about this place through others - aunties in the area of course :) ** there was no halal signs so cannot confirm if the meat was halal and I only ordered vegetarian. So - I ordered 10 samosas. 2 Chanda Bhatoora. 0.5lbs of mixed barfi. Bill was $25 The samosas - pretty darn good. Will highly recommend. The barfi - was just okay. Maybe a little overly sweet for my taste. But my parents loved it. Overall, Neither so great neither so horrible. I mean for $10/lb maybe I was expecting more? Now these channa Bhattura - hardest review to explain. I personally did not like the Channas. They have this different taste that I could not acclimate myself too. BUT the parents Loved it 🤷🏽♀️ they enjoyed having that different unique masala taste. Maybe hence all the auntie referrals! Bhattura were fresh but oily. Honestly - they should have samplers out front lol The store also sells a lot of items on the side - I was going to grab a few but when asked they seem more expensive compared to just picking them up from another store. Ex. Pani poori box was $5.00. I can buy the exact same box. Same brand. Same size from Indian grocery for $2.50. There are barely any prices on the items so you gotta ask. Location was clean. It was busy. Initially the customer service wasn’t that great. Just too busy and trying to accommodate. I made my order first but wasn’t served first. But then once My order was completed. The individual did apologize. So I do appreciate it.
worst experience! they made me wait for 10 minutes and said we dont take card under 10 cad.
Tasty
Methai and chaana chat too good.
Love the sweets. I been coming here for 20 years.
The Guy was kind of rude and they don t accept cards below $10. A person who wants to eat a samosa or 2 should carry some pennies with them to order otherwise you can t feed yourselves
I bought sweets
Great food and very nominally priced
Good food with great service
Sweet are good
shit customer service ,poorly illustrated menu nothing to eat with and no napkins and nothing to illustrated that your choice of meat doesnt come with rice
Very good food and sweets. Very good customer service!
Went there after long time. Picked up samosa, pakoras..very good..want them to do better and keep the standards high.
I ordered veg thali and in that price food was super tasty.
I had an incredible dining experience at this place. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The attention to detail and quality ingredients truly stood out.
Great Veg Dishes, humble delicious food. The service could be done with a smile! Its a casual place, place your order and pickup the tray when ready. The cashier could try smiling once in a while, we have been going here for at least 5 yrs, dont think he has smiled even once! Food
Very nice indian food combo choices for veggies and non-veggies. inexpensive and simple dining area. I like their no-sugar cardamom tea with their tastey samosas.
The kalakand is amazing
Very bad experience we bought some sweets from here those were too old and smelling. Customer service don t even ask too bad.
Brought home their samosas. They were all stale. And they refused to acknowledge their mistake. Dont waste your money on them.
Saturday special Makki Roti Saag was the worst we ever had. Makki Rotis were served under-cooked, cold, and not freshly made, appeared to be frozen and not properly heated/cooked. Will never go back to this place!
Good butter chicken, naan
7.99 for fresh puri and chickpeas best
Server grumpy most times, never smiles.
Hidden gem but well known I guess as its still busy at a very secluded spot. Its got most of the Indian delicacies and Sweets, chats at reasonable price and authentic taste
Good value, price very reasonable, but far from main road, some food you can only take out no dine in. Vegetarian options: Samosas
I recently had a revolting experience at this restaurant. While eating my meal, I discovered a potato bug in my food. This is absolutely appalling and demonstrates a severe lack of hygiene and food safety at this establishment. I will be reporting this place to Ontario health and safety......I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place.
Ive been a regular at Mistaan for the past two years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, offering authentic Indian flavors that keep me coming back. The staff is always welcoming and provides excellent service. Whether its dining in or takeaway, Mistaan is my go-to place for a satisfying delicious meal. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: A large range of vegetarian dishes available to choose from. Dietary restrictions: They have dishes which satisfy dietary restrictions. Parking: Free large open spaces to park your vehicle is available. Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids. Mistaan has large range of items available to make kids happy. Items like Sweets, lassi, mango lassi, Ice cream etc are available. And Kids loves them.
Good authentic Indian food. Would highly recommend.
Best samosas I ve tried in Canada
Good food. Very tasty Karai Chicken and Butter Chicken.
One of the best spot to have meals at good price . Owner is nice too and great customer service.
Samosas priced too high
My second time here and kachodi was again spoilt. I did check with the shopkeeper and shared by earlier experience , however after I reached home and checked the kachodi was again spoilt.
Sadly interac was not working
Great samosas and the sweets are pretty good, especially Rosogollas and Rasmalai. This is definitely not a Bengali place though, distinctly Punjabi.
Nice Place :)
Worst food ever and service is also worst. They don t have any sense that how to deal with a customer.
Veryy tasty chole bhature must try out off all places i have ever tried this one was finger licking good thankyou
I ordered half Tandoori chicken and veg pakoras. They are using way too much colors on the tandoori and believe it or not, even on the chutney they have added a bright green color. All items were dried. Wouldn t recommend.
Yesterday me and myfriend went after college for lunch, their THALIS are the best as well as service is too fast. Recommended for Fresh and Hygienic Food. Food
I visited on friday and brought some chana samosa and it was really tasty me and my family really enjoyed and service was really fast And more Better then fancy restaurant. Food : 5/5 |
Average taste ..
Please do not buy any sweets from here. They use very poor quality oil to make stuff. Also Samosas were undercooked and when we tried to return it, the rude guy at cashier fought with us. Food
Vegetarian options: Many tasty vegetarian options available at pocket friendly prices. Food
I m very disappointed that s all I can say
Had somosa chole dine in it was too cold then also I ate n in half way could not eat more left and within half an hour had vomit writing this after vomit price ambience and service is good but I doubt food quality
The sweets are stale. The kaju Katrina was completely dry and stale. DONOT GO TO THIS PLACE. IT IS WASTAGE OF YOUR MONEY.
Recently went their in an emergency to pick up some sweets. It was my first here. Good quality sweets
Place is good...food is cheap... sometimes tasty... sometimes not. I mainly go here for Samosas which are tasty and cheap. Food
I came here to eat samosa. The owner refused to take credit or debit. He said I can only give you the samosas if you me cash. Bad experience. Not recommending to anyone.
I purchased samboose and some cookies, coconut and almonnd cookies. Not tested yet . But prices are fair. I will update here after tasting.
AVOID: Please do not waste your money and put your health at risk. Sweets: before purchase, I have asked are sweets are made with Desi Gee ? She responded yes but when we ate it smelled like poor quality refined oil. All sweets are low quality. Food: The chicken smells very old and half-cooked. Which certainly makes you sick. Service: It makes you feel like someone doing Charity for you or giving you free food. Price: overpriced. However, I prefer quality which is zero.
Best Butter Chicken and Naan Bread. Sometimes theres a bit of a wait.
Amazing sweets love it
I ordered Naan kebab and it was one of the best kebab, very soft and juicy..
Samosas are really good. But rest is average. Especially Veg thali my last experience was very bad.
Update on my last review 2 years back. Visited after a long time on Jan 03, 2024. The elderly person on the counter was serving me, my order was packed and waiting for billing. Suddenly a kitchen staff arrives with a phone.and handed phone to the senior. He doesnt bother to acknowledge me with a gesture, will be back soon and went inside. I waited for 5 mins and left the store. No was no one at the counter. No concept of basic customer service. In Indian culture customer is God and this store doesnt deserve our business. Will not be surpriced to see this store close permanently. Previous review Used to love this place. They increase the price every now and then and consistently decline the food and sweet quality. I used to visit them every week for past 5 years, now only visit if I feel lazy to drive. Besan ladoo taste raw. Motichur laddo is stale. Chicken sheek kebab size is shrinking (wont be surprised if it becomes nugget size) even after price increase. Samosa is always bland and pretty expensive given the size and filling. Pakodas are always cold. Kalakand, Sandesh are watery to intentionally increase weight as sweets are sold by weight. All items are expensive given the quality. The senior owner is always grumpy. The way they are managing the store I am sure they lost loyal customers like us. There are much better options in Scarborough with less or similar pricing and way better quality.
Nice place for a quick eat. Nice service, there was misunderstanding while ordering but they fixed it. Thanks Team
Vegetarian options: Great variety Kid-friendliness: Kids have lots of options Food : 5/5 |
Great food and service
Mistaan Catering deserves high praise for their incredible Chole Bhature The flavors are authentic, and the bhaturas are perfectly fluffy. They provide gajar ka halwa with chole bhature Additionally, their mithai (sweets) selection is a heavenly indulgence. Highly recommended for foodies who appreciate quality and taste!
If you are a samosha fan, please visit this restaurant, price is so cheap and too crunchy.
The food and service are always fantastic! The seating is average.
Never knew they were there, drove by many times. A friend recommended this place and is great. Went for samosas, great price and the man that served me was pleasant. Did not try anything else, but will come back for our samosa cravings. Vegetarian options: No meat in samosas. Parking: Lots of free parking.
I usually go to this place to buy samosas, pakoras and channa bhatura but the old guy at the front counter is always rude and pretends like as he is giving away free food. Overall poor customer service kindly improve the service.
Good food and price.
Great place for some really tasty biryani, Rogan Ghosh, Daal makhni, ras malai.. good quality food with gd quantity too.
Feels like home Everything here is like fav Simple and Best Whenever I visit Seneca College, I go there and tge food is great. Give it a try very reasonable prices.
awesome place to get north indian food and snacks
Prices too expensive and quality dropping. Tried their butter chicken and chicken kadai chicken is too chewy overly salty and butter chicken sweet. Avoidable place spend your money elsewhere
Batura is so good and well priced. Highly recommended
Their thali is amazing. Aloo paratha is fresh and tastes good. Chana is okish. Overall the price and portion is very well balanced.
Been ordering biryani here for years. Super consistent.
Great samosas, dhokla and bafi.
Their rasmalais are the best!
Very rude to us as we just ask for extra chair at same table.
I usually take out from here even though there are couple of tables set up. Food is incredibly tasty. Sweets have authentic taste and absolutely yummy!!
I love the non-veg thali, chole bhature and sandesh!
Always has the best samosas and chole
Worst place to eat. Very unhygienic. Samosa were like 2 days old. Never going back. Food
A suggestion to improve sales. Put a a name tag on the front of each tray of sweets. People from different cultures will be more likely to choose more and a wider variety rather than pointing in a self-conscious manner.
Have been their customer for around 25 years. Never disappointed
A good and reasonably priced place for takeout. Do not forget to let them know the spiciness you want and you will get exactly that. Sweets are not that good though specifically the jalebies.
delicious
I loveit samosa and tae
Only one person taking orders and sometimes the wait is long. And the food is worth the wait as it is very tasty and reasonable.l recommend it highly. Vegetarian options: They sell both vegetration and non vegetration and have many varieties for both dishes. Parking: Lots of free parking and not overly congested.
We asked for butter chicken and 3 naans for takeout. When we left, we suddenly realized that they gave only 2 naans instead of 3 naans. When we went back, they quietly added another one and did not even apologize. They did not want to look bad in front of other customers. Check your food before leaving.
Very bad experience.
This is the same place our parents always came to buy us treats. Now it is renovated and just as clean and delicious.
Worst Stale food with lots of oil in pakodas and samosas. Mithai was smelling and bitter. Wasted 28 CAD . Thrown away everything. Please taste before you buy from this shop
The old auncle is too rude . He don t know how to behave with customers. He disrespectful guy i ever meet , their food is ok but they don t have good staffs.
The best place in Toronto for Bengali sweets. Every time I am in North York, I stop by here for samosa and chai. The savouries are always fresh. They have great Bengali sweet selection. everyone is a fan of this small restaurant in North York. There is always thali. The place serves killer Indian thali at affordable prices. The service is fast & quick, but may not be as friendly. A small dining area to help you savour the food. They also have good selection of gravies and sides for take away. They also sell pickles and other snacks. Such a lovely place to eat from as long as you do not have to interact with the staff. That is the only thing that will spoil the experience
Really tasty food taste like India food And price and service is really good
Excellent place for samosas
Friendly service. Food not so bad it can be improved alot.
Awesome value, taste and quality. Going there for years and never disappointed. Keep it up.
Has anyone had their car stolen while shopping at this locations?
Great selection of sweets and good value for the thalis.
Fabulous sweets! Will revisit. Thanks!
The food is good, but the customer service is not, not friendly staff.
Bought some samosa and baingan bhartha... Samosas were wery oily and not fresh. Baingan bhartha was completely test less
Samozas now are 75 cents each. Use to be 50 cents each but they are still good.
I had the samosa chana, the saag and makai roti and they were both absolutely delicious! Will definitely come again.
Food is great and good portion Cheap place to eat Food
Both of the owners are very rude and stern. They should have good customer service. Else the sweets are good in taste Food
Service was so bad.. big line up nd nobody coming to take the order waited so long
The food used to be okay a little bland but a quick edible Indian food option. Maybe they got a new chef, or just stopped caring but last time I ordered through Uber, the palak paneer was rancid, and they didn t seven bother to cook the paneer in any dish it doesn t take long to do it shows a real lack of caring. After lots of patronage we won t be back!
Great shop with good food. Not very spicy. Great samosas.
Samosas are only 75cents and the chutney is delicious!
One of the worst place to visit. I came here to order food for birthday but the way owner was behaving like I am asking him food for free. I got the same food from rajdhani in the price he was asking just double. I have tasted samosha from here and one of the worst samosha I ever had. Mithai was also pathetic and wanted all my money for it Please dont waste money and time for the pathetic food and misbehaving owner
We tried their dahi bhalla, bhelpuri, samosa, thali and nothing was good at all.
The food is good and prices are great.
Worst snacks ever had. Unprofessional service.
Terrible samosa ...soaked in oil.
They are very quick with the service and not even that expensive , give this place a try.
Samosa not good in taste
Worst dining place ever. I ordered 3 item and I trashed all 3 of them. Very bad taste. Not recommended. Please never order Bhelpuri, It s their worst food item.
I like it
Butter chicken and nan
ive been coming here for 30(!) years. never disappointed... Wheelchair accessibility: not really. threshold and double doors. Food : 5/5 |
I dined here for lunch, brought some sweets, made a payment, and patiently awaited my food. However, upon the arrival of my order, I realized I had forgotten to order a drink. Seeking to rectify this, I approached the counter and politely expressed my intention to pay for the beverage separately. Unfortunately, the response was delivered in a rather rude tone, stating a cash-only policy for amounts below $10. Unfortunately, I did not have cash on hand, and the interaction left me disheartened, prompting me to forgo further inquiry. While I respect the establishments rules, its worth noting that I had already made a payment exceeding $10, and I wondered if an exception could have been made. This experience has left me with a negative impression, and I am hesitant to return.
Bought sweets and it was not fresh at all!! Very disappointed Food
I come here almost weekly to get the hot hot Samosas. One of the little hidden gems in Toronto.
Samosas were great.
Very cheap owner
Samosa is ok..havent tried anything else
Best Indian traditional samosa and sweets.
Strange rules! No dine in for Chai n Samosa customers!
The sweets that I bought were great. I think that the filling for the samosas needed more pepper and a bit of salt.
Never heard about this spot, just was driving by and realised there is a Indian sweet and snack shop, very cheap and good food good customer service too...
I went to buy samosa and sweets, patisa sweets was good but samosa was not actually what I expected , usually Patato Masala used is mashed /stuffed properly but it was minuscule pieces of cooked patato (sabji) like didn t liked it , moreover it looked prepared earlier (guy even not bothered to warm it up or ask to me)
I bought 6 Aloo Paratha worth 4cad each. The paratha was raw, you can see and taste the raw dough. This was the worst Paratha I had in my life. I waited 40mins for the raw paratha and i had to trash all of them. Dont recommend anyone to get their food.
I was on the visit to canada for 2 weeks and was searching the best Indian food this place was the best among all in canada were i find authentic parathas and sweets Thank you for your service
So cheap and amazing taste.
I asked for samosas. the person looked at my face and without talking walked to the back through the door after waiting long time I left.
Their Bengals sweets are delicious , I loved the sweet pan it is amazingly delicious.
Best place to get Indian sweets, tastes awesome at an affordable price
Prices are good and so is the variety.
The people who work here are so rude. They were kicking us out of the resturant even though we still had food left to eat, because they were closing apparently. This is not how resturants should treat their customers. We also asked for take out containors the guy was arguing and said no and gave us some thali containors ,where the food was spilling from everywhere. The Chicken Tikka Masala was dry and chewy.
I dont usually write reviews, I know how hard it is to run a business, but today I feel insulted by our own indian restaurant, I bought my stuff kept it on the table and was about to sit, the old guy called me and told me you cannot sit here and right now I am sitting out in my car and having my food because the staff says that I cannot eat in there as I bought only samosas and chai, there was only one other guy and all the tables were empty, apparently they wanted me to buy more food to be eligible for the dine in, damm rude staff and service, asked me if I had money even before taking my order, like seriously why would I go in there if I didnt had money, worst experience ever.
Good samosas, fresh.
Service is very slow .. there is only one uncle n he is slow too
I loved their drinks. We got chai, mango lassi. Talking about food, the chhole bhatoore and samosas were dope. Also, their prices are worth. Loved the place, gonna come again.
First tried their food at a wedding and now I stop by every time I am in the area. Their food is extremely affordable and delicious!
Very good food at a reasonable price
I bought Samosas from here. I was told they have no chutney. The shop owner recommended that I buy bottled chutney. Chola bhathuras were sub standard. Chana sweet and no pickles with it. I don t think I would go there again. They really should improve their food and service if they want repeated customers.
Went in there as a non brown person and was treated very poorly as well as the food being horribly overpriced and not the greatest wouldn t recommend
Took 5 Aalo prantha s nd I wasn t able to find aalo s. Like not even 5% of aalo in 5 Parantha s. Fooling People!!!
Don t know how to behave with customers. Very Rude
Vegetarian options: All Vegetarian, Food
I have been to this shop couple of times, most of the times shopping sweets, never dine in. Yesterday, along with sweets, purchased masala tea due to cold whether. Thought of sitting inside shop for 5 mins, old rude owner forced us to leave in very humiliated manner. Ridiculous desi behavior imported to Canada. It really sucks. Never going to visit this dirty people again.
Very impolite and inconsiderate owner
Best place to get samosas when I come uptown
Love their food. Very affordable
Dietary restrictions: Very poor service .
Clean facility. Sweets are with very authentic taste. Staffs are friendly.
Amazing!!! Thanks for providing good food and great prices
Great food, brought some of my team members from work
Very good Samosas Must try
Undercooked food. Expired Yogurt. No flavour. Dont recommend.
