Bar Centrale in Toronto

Such a shit, got a order and they say they didnt allow drivers to deliver on bike, even it was 1 km. You dont have filter in order to give orders for cars only then we have to cancel it.

Bad pizza

Not what it was pre-pandemic. Bolognese was cold. Had to be returned. I had my main at this point so ate while hubby watched sorry. Pizza was fairly greasy sausage and bland Gorgonzola. Like eating bland fat on a pizza crust. Desserts were good. Wine good. Not rushing back. Drafty window seat. Kind of bummed it wasn t better. Very expensive.

Food was pretty average, but they kicked me out of the table after an hour even though other tables were there before I was and were still allowed to stay.

The food is wonderful. But the owners are picky about who can deliver their food, no bikes, or scooters only cars can deliver. They would add cheese to a dish they believe isn t worth of the addition. They won t cut your pizza. People have brought their own pizza cutter from home. I ve visited Italy more than once and they will say this dish is meant not to have cheese but will serve you the cheese if that s your preference. As they still want the paying customers. But not these guys. But their food is great so as long as you can accept their picking opinions then it s worth it. But don t good if u expect them to cater to your tastes or needs as they won t. They won t remove items from a dish. They won t add items to a dish. The dish comes how they plan it to come. This s why I only gave a 3 as they aren t customer friendly.

My husband and I had a wonderful early dinner here. The specialty cocktails were excellent as were the mains. I had pasta olio and pepe and my husband had the gnocchi. The bread was also delicious.

Located in Rosedale / Summerhill on Yonge, Café Centrale is on the ground floor just under Terroni. A long narrow strip with lots of a window, some small banquets and a few bar seats, Centrale is a small cozy local joint. We enjoyed a breakfast of Yogurt Granola (good...nothing special), Avocado Toast (also good), French Toast (very good but a small portion for the cost), and Scrambled Eggs with Tartufo (also good). Meanwhile, if you just want a coffee and pastry to go there are number of options and quite a few patrons were in and out picking something up to go. Overall the service was attentive and friendly with the meal coming relatively quickly. Enjoy!

Went for brunch at bar central. If you re willing to wait 40 minutes for standard eggs and French toast. Enjoy. Just make sure to block off half the day to get your food.

Tons of wine options and very good service. My only issue was the amount of fruit flies that were annoying.

Food was ok but seating was ridiculously slow. Made us wait in the heat for our table even though restaurant was largely empty. Try one of the other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood for better food and a warm welcome rather than being told to wait outside with no explanation.

My mom and two friends visiting her from Winnipeg stopped by for drinks yesterday afternoon, but left after the table that came in after them was served before them. They were not very impressed that no one asked them if they needed any help....so they left. I was disappointed for them as I have always liked it.

I visis friends locally to Ber Centrale every year and it never fails to disappoint in its excellent food and service. I look forward to returning for the Chick Pea fries and Kale salad nexy year!

I love this place. Bar Centrale serves great Italian comfort food in a sophisticated and intimate environment. I cannot wait to return after this insane pandemic.

amazing food and wine selection.... ambiance au top!

I was so disappointed with Bar Centrale last night. We ordered a pizza online - it said 17-30 minutes. I showed up at 17 minutes knowing it might not be ready - but when the young woman finally brought the order out 20 minutes later, it was ice cold when I got it home five minutes later. We ended up having to put it in the oven to heat it up. I realize these are trying times and staff may have switched up, but it doesnt appear to be rocket science to bring orders out as they come up and not have a box sitting on the counter for 15 minutes. The pizza is very acceptable but well order from Buca next time until they have their system more organized.

The restaurant is a reminder of a European bar and posh and cozy at the same time. Food never dissapoints yet menu doesnt change often enough.

Good food + good service in a stylish restaurant. Prices are reasonable for the location and you wont be disappointed with the overall experience, but there isnt much there in terms of originality.

The food was incredible, and the wine pairing suggestions(as someone who knows nothing about wine) blew my mind.

Nice place. A bit loud, but okay. The tortellini I had was outstanding. Best I have ever eaten but the portion was quite small. Overall, positive experience.

Such a good place. Love their brunch. Very nice selection of options, great coffee and very pleasant cozy room. Their patio is quite good as well.

The food here is amazing! The service, although friendly, was quite slow which was a bit of an issue for us as we were on a course and only had an hour for lunch. A little pricey for the portions but the quality of the coffee and food made up for it! Would recommend!

There are organizations that are rules bound. There are also organizations who realize rules are guidelines, but maybe not applicable in all circumstances. Was a brisk -10 C this morning, and at 8:55 am I was greeted with a locked door. I didnt realize they opened at 9 am. As a server sips coffee inside, another looks surprised to see me at the door. Rather than a greeting, she appears to look for a clock. I then get a hand signal that they open in four minutes. So I waited as cold air was blasted through an enclosure meant to blast heat. Their location has two entrance doors. It is entirely possible to allow ice encased guests into the foyer without entering the restaurant. This was not offered. Breezy, offhandish service followed. Servers are generally paid poorly. I assume these folks are too. I also assume they take their cues from management. So, while those who saw me evaluated the opportunity poorly, perhaps management might instill critical thinking to staff aimed at customer service and comfort, versus clock watching for four minutes. Its just silly. The restaurant soon filled, so one doubts much will change.

Ive been coming to this location for years and food has been consistently delicious. Pasta is always cooked perfectly and they always have a good mix of daily specials. I haven t tried their breakfast mind you this is an Italian restaurant not a brunch place. The comment about better food at Cora s, really! Cora s doesn t even compare to Terroni. As for the service, Ive never had an issue and they have always been courteous and prompt in removing our empty plates. Weekends can be busy but we ve never has to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. I come here on a monthly basis and will keep coming back so long as they keep serving their truffle pasta!

Went to this location today after stumbling around for somewhere new to eat with family and I was extremely happy that we did! Service was friendly and helpful, recommended amazing dishes, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our server was Leah (sorry if I spelled that wrong). I eat out a lot and havent had service as good as here in a long time so kudos! Food was also amazing, we had the Spaghetti Limone I believe as well as a mushroom salad, cheese and fruit board, agnolotti, pizza with capers and anchovies and a butterscotch dessert. Everything was beyond delicious; atmosphere and decor were beautiful and I cant wait to go back!

Very bad experience, worst Italian food I ever had for a while, we were group of 5 and all of us were extremely disappointed. I got their first pasta on the menu, the sauce was so salty I barely could touch it. My friends pasta was same. We almost left the place without touching our food. For this price level you have much better choices in downtown. Environment is family friendly but food is horrible.

Food is average here but the service was unacceptable. We went here for brunch on August 13th, 2016 sat down at 9:20 AM and we were asked to leave around 10:50 AM. We were asked to leave as they needed the table for a reservation. I understand that they needed the table.. however, the delivery of this messaging was AGGRESSIVE and RUDE. We were still having coffee when he came by without a greeting and told us he needed the table and that we had to leave. The food isnt bad but its definitely not worth coming here because of the service. Go to Coras instead.

A convenient location, but that, is about it. Food is less than expectations, very big disappointed topped with limited supply of balsamic vinegar!!! Some items from the menu are out of stock. Rude waitress dont care, because the tip is automatically added to the bill, which is 18% so-called a gratitude charge - nothing to grateful for...

Great Italian menu and reasonably priced considering the great atmosphere, service and location. The menu takes some time getting used to but there are a lot of options to choose from.

Food was fine. However dont dare request balsamic vinegar to go with the caprese salad - they simply refuse to accomodate the smallest of things. Refused to bring any even though they had the balsamic. UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine that - they would be offended at modifying their prepared meal! Pass on this place - many better diners available.

Nice place, cool atmosphere, and based on advice from the staff weve had great wines. The San Giorgio pizza and the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare are both excellent. Great spot for something relaxed or celebratory.

My experience at Terroni was fantastic! We were there with a bachelorette party of about 20 people. It took a little while for the entire party to trickle in, however the service staff was quick to make sure drinks were flowing and bread was being served. I loved the team atmosphere that we experienced. Many waiters and waitresses helped out to bring food, clear plates or ask can I get you anything? The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and left each person at the table full and happy. Out of 20 people, there wasnt a single person who didnt enjoy their meal. Service was a welcoming experience, nothing was forgotten, our main server Candice had an excellent attitude and we all felt taken care of. Thank you for a great experience!

We enjoyed our weekend brunch here. All staff that we met were extremely warm and pleasant. Food and drinks were good. Well be back.

Worst experience. Terrible portions, overpriced nonsense. We celebrated a birthday with 13 guests. We were not permitted to bring our own cake and had to pay $55 for a house cake. We were each served a SLIVER-sized piece and it was most disappointing. One of our friends ordered a pasta that looked AND tasted like hamburger helper. I order a ravioli for $20 and out came FOUR pieces of ravioli that were stuffed dime-sized with the remainder being flat pasta. Dont eat here if youre hungry. Im Italian and cant believe this restaurant did it so wrong.

This is a review for Terroni on Yonge St. It used to be our preferred the place up until they moved down the street. I have tried to reserve numerous time a place and am always facing the same scripted response. Regardless of the time I am trying to book and how many days in advance I tried to book it, they tell us they are full and invite us to come and try our luck (they do take reservations, in principle). They try to make you arrive to the restaurant with the hope that if the place is full you will end up using the bar central restaurant below. The service we experienced was aloof and impersonal. From someone who used to go to this restaurant each and every time he was in Toronto, I stopped visiting completely. And if it was not for the poor service experience, I would have refrained from reviewing. Last adn positive note - The situation at the branch on Queen st. is very different. No reservations, fun, friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent pizza!

What an incredibly rude and arrogant female server we had last evening, November 30, 2013. We live in the neighborhood and dine at Bar Centrale quite often. It used to be our go to place but after the experience of last evening, we will not go back. When we ordered tap water, she proceeded to fill our glasses and slam the water jug down directly below my face. She then brought bread to our table and slammed the 3 plates down on the table, not even placing a plate in front of each diner. The bill came to $179 plus tip but I did not leave my usual 25% tip, only $10 and the $10 was for the kitchen server who brought us our main course, not for the surly female server that had absolutely no manners and could not care less if our dining experience was an enjoyable one. If she does not like her job, change it and dont take her problems out on previously loyal customers.
