they state on the website they close the kitchen at 10 pm. I called 4 times to make a reservation and no one answered the phone. We arrived at 9:10, valet d our car and when we walked in a woman said the kitchen was closed. I told her someone should be answering the phone and that s very unprofessional. She said that s hilarious because I never heard the phone ring once I pointed and asked is this your number? She said yes. I told her that s cool and we just walked out. Went to Sofias instead and it was fabulous.

Food was very good and good value for money. Service was excellent but the sommelier came across as condescending.

Used to be a good place, not anymore , food with not flavour, expensive for the experience, server never suggested sides or help us with the menu, not attention. There are lots of good restaurants this is not one of them .

I visited Buca Yorkville for a dinner with a group of four. It s your typical mid-to-higher-end Italian spot, and overall, the experience was pleasant. The cocktails were delicious, and the mains had a unique flair. I particularly enjoyed the Barbabietole e Rucola. But I wished the portion was just a tad bit bigger. However, the dessert selection left something to be desired. The Tiramisu was just average, and the Pizzelle was a real letdown. If youre here for the mains, its a solid choice, but I wouldn t recommend saving much room for dessert.

I recently visited with my family for a birthday brunch and it was a great experience. Alex was our server and accommodated a lot of our requests and was extremely helpful. He consistently provided great service for our table. All staff as well were kind, quick, and friendly. I would come back again for just the service alone, and obviously the delicious food.

I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant. We ordered three dishes, but the service was unbelievably slow. The first dish arrived at 7:40, and by 8:20, we were still waiting for the other two dishes. I have no idea what the kitchen staff was doing, but it was clear they werent managing their time well. The entire experience was frustrating, and I won t be coming back.

Waited 1hr + to be told my food is coming shortly food never came. no apology or care. Wouldn t recommend this restaurant at all. Better luck at McDonalds

The service is excellent but I was very disappointed after my stomach wasn t feeling good ever since after, thought it was gradually consuming at first, but it turned out suffering with stomachache and eventually vomiting everything I had before in the midnight. this now pretty much looks like a food poison to me ..

Risotto is so salty that it is barely edible without water to wash it down after every bite. The pasta in bigoli is too hard. And most importantly, the food gave us diarrhea. Service is okay compared to other fine dining restaurants. One can get much better food at nearly any other restaurant in the area.

You can never go wrong with Buca! One of the best places I have ever had the opportunity to dine at.

We sat at the counter where the server called the Chefs table. However, the chef did not even make eye contact with us throughout this not busy night. We had an arugula beet salad and squid ink ravioli. The portion is way too small. You cannot taste the unique flavour of the squid ink at all. If I am driving all the way to downtown and spend $20 in parking. There should be a lot more better option than this.

Branzino as appetizer was fantastic for 2, lightly finished with Prosecco and olive oil. Only trouble is that its so dimly lit for dinner; table voltives could have solved the problem easily.

Average dining experience. The ambiance is upscale, and the service is decent, but I didn t feel welcomed. It felt more like a place where youre expected to eat your food and leave. A simple smile makes a big difference in creating a more inviting atmosphere. As for the food, I wouldn t recommend it if youre a vegetarian. The melanzane was undercooked and lacked flavor, but the pasta was great. Overall, it left me feeling a bit disappointed.

Unfortunately wasn t the experience we expected out of Buca restaurants. The foo was below average. Octopus Carpaccio was dry and tasteless. The Gnocchi was very salty , hard and taste like nothing. The aubergine was soaked in oil , very thick slices , the sauce bland . The main course arrived more than 40 mins late . We lost our appetite knowing the restaurant was not even half full. Next to us there was group of people so loud they can wake up a neighborhood , no one bothered to politely ask them to Lowe their voices . Huge regret . We will never go back . Highly not recommended . 0 value .

Food was good, but the risotto and sopressata pizza were way too salty.

Had an incredible experience! Its been a few years since I went to a Buca location, and this just blew me away. My server was Emily, and her along with the rest of the service staff were exceptional. The restaurant itself is truly beautiful. My fav items were: the lobster pasta (phenomenal and a great sharing meal) and the burrata pizza (mindblowing).

Service was top notch. Food was good. I prefer the King location.

Upscale Italian restaurant with some great items on the menu! The fish and the waffle dessert were just amazing The only downsides were the portion sizes / lack of sides for main dishes and the slow service.

The restaurant was WAAAYYY too loud. So loud that you have to yell at the person directly across from you or the waiter trying to take your order. We didn t even end up staying to eat and I wouldn t never go back to try it because of it. It s the only yorkville restaurant like this!

What a disappointment. We mustve dined here a dozen times before the pandemic and before the departure of Chef Rob Gentile. it was always interesting, and the execution tended to be close to flawless. The only thing I can say after last nights visit is that the restaurant is a shadow of its former self. It is true that there was one stand out dish: gnocchi con ricce di mare. but everything else was a bit tired. The signature dish, polpo e vongole, was presented beautifully, but lacked sparkling spirit and the fregola wasnt toasted as in the past and was a bit overdone. The idea of adding a greasy fried artichoke to this dish was a poor one. A garnish? Part of the flavour mix? Unclear. The low points were a pizza bianca with a few pieces of octopus, some silly red chili, and a nondescript cheese, possibly a strachiatella, but it lacked in flavour was a bit insipid; a salad in which many of the greens were old and all were untrimmed. it was very sad to see the once spectacular wines by the glass reduced to six red and six white, and very little of interest in those selections. Our server, Alex, did his best and cannot be faulted for the kitchen failures and lack of executive imagination. its time to move past the former talented, if now disgraced, executive chef, and do something new and exciting. Its not clear whether the King Street restaurant group is up for the challenge.

Highly recommend dining at Buca Yorkville! The food is truly impressive The service is top-notch, thanks to the experienced staff. Im still dreaming about the Branzino and the Burrata pizza we had it was so good I was savoring the taste the next day. My boyfriend and I had a lovely evening and cant wait to return!

I visit Buca occasionally and have to say, one of the best pasta places in Toronto. My favourite is the lobster pasta. They have good wine selections as well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good Italian restaurant with great service :)

I sat at the bar and had great service. There was not a green salad on the menu but the bartender had them make me one off menu. The pizza is very good and the lobster pasta was excellent but very rich....would be great as a share or app portion.

I had the dandelion greens and the veal with white asparagus. The greens were nice, but the all star was the olive oil. Just phenomenal. The veal was excellent as well. Thin, tasty, with a nice sauce. I also want to credit Nanan. He was able to reproduce a drink from my description. Well done bartender.

What a disappointing birthday meal for my husband. Our meal was below average. Nothing was amazing not even the lobster pasta which had a strong fish taste. I originally booked at the new st.Clair location and was convinced to switch to here by the hostess I had spoken to not realizing the menu was different. The atmosphere is boring and the place needs a solid update its looked the same for some time now. Our server was lovely but not even my French martini was great. The menu options are limited and no one really enjoyed their meal. Will not be coming back here. For the price there are so many better options than this.

Was really not impressed with this restaurant. It s on the Michelin list, so I had high expectations. First of all they charge 8.50 for water, the bread knots tasted like something frozen out of a box. The lobster pasta tasted like it had a full block of butter cooked in it. The pizza had a weird contrast with the cold cheese on there. I ordered the Veal - it was ok - but they don t offer a side with this?? 65 dollars for a piece of veal which was also drowned in butter. Not to mention it came about 30 mins after my fiancées main dish. Really regretted spending $300 on dinner here. Should mention our server was very friendly and did a good job.

Wife got food poisoning from their lobster pasta. This is entirely unacceptable in sny restaurant, but given the price point of 55 dollars we were appalled.

The food was okay but could be better. The staff was very nice. However, they ruined the birthday dessert as they put a candle on my plate instead of my friend s dish whose birthday it was. The entire dinner the staff was great. However, at the end of the dinner, the waitress s attitude worsened (perhaps, she was tired or something happened in her personal life), but it was okay. We are all humans, so I cannot judge. The ambience is great! It was very peaceful and calm. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant staff was very accommodating and provided great service. They were offering lots of help since I was using a device related to mobility issues. There was enough room to comfortably move around with the device. Recommend!

It s a solid 4 stars. Cocktail arrived rather late, and it wasn t a busy night. Food is great but given the price, it doesn t have a wow factor that will attract me to revisit. Atmosphere is upscale and relaxing. The leather table pad and a lot of stuff show sign of wear. Washroom is unisex

The pasta dish I got with the braised lamb was pretty good but I could have honestly ate it all in two bites. The octopus was slightly overcooked but tasted pretty good. Service was very good the servers were very attentive and friendly. Drinks were very mediocre considering the cocktails were about 20 dollars each. The bill for three people came to about 300 not including tip.

While the pizza I had was fantastic, the price points for the pastas are, quite frankly, obscene, with everything adorned with truffles to push nearly every dish past the $60-$65 threshold. To be honest, it struck me as more than slightly pretentious... Having said that, our server was great and very attentive to our table. The wine pairings we had with our meal were also excellent and we were treated very well!

I loved this restaurant and it became one of my favorites.

The place is nice, however the service left a lot to be desired, since the waiter assigned to us was not attentive to my partner and me, he never showed the same attention to us as he did to the other tables, I dont know if thats why the way we were dressed or he simply didnt have empathy for us, it should be noted that nowhere on his page did it say dress code. But grateful to the waitress (a Latina who came up to us to give us excellent service even though she was not our waitress).

Our party of four ate there recently on a Saturday night. Our reservation was 8pm. The restaurant was busy but not full. The service was sub par, our cocktails took over 20 minutes to arrive and our menu items did not arrive in sync with our guests. The time between ordering and courses took much too long and after speaking with a manager was told they were short staffed but no sincere apology. Will not be going back.

Overall we had a fairly good experience. Truffle pasta was good, however could have used a bit more salt. My husband had the octopus which was sadly under seasoned and overcooked. Service was amazing, and the restaurant had an overall good atmosphere!

The scallops taste old and the food is mediocre at best safe to say will not be coming back. HIRE BETTER PEOPLE IT IS EMBARRASSING!!!!!! For a high end restaurant server and service should be top notch. I recommend Emily to leave this venue cuz her miserable face won t even make you want dessert!!! I expect management to reach me out personally because this is unacceptable. DISGUSTING!

Amazing food and service!!

This was one of the better dinning experiences Ive had in a long time. From the first glass of wine till the last bite of desert the quality of food was top notch and impeccable. Buca osteria, you beauty!!! Right from when the door opened to when we closed the door behind us at the end, this amazing restaurant did not disappoint one bit. Samira, our waitress was outstanding. With being so helpful to allowing us to take in the experience rather than jamming suggestions down our throats, this server needs a 5 star review. The focaccia was absolutely out of this world. The selection of the salami di mare was fantastic. Right from the moonfish, to the spada and tonno, the carne crudo...oh cmon!!!. But the Reginette with lamb neck and the Petto di Anatra were something to write home about. I absolutely love that all the food was inspired by Italian flavors and every ingredient was shown the utmost of respect. Buca osteria, thank you for making the birthday celebration for my wife a memorable one. We will definitely see you soon.

Very nice food.. but not cheap! My waiter Daniel was fabulous! However.... The reception staff needs to drastically improve their image. A smile might be a good idea? Perhaps put some makeup on too? Try to be more welcoming to customers??? I wont be back!

Excellent food. There is really nothing to complain/pick on. Service is top notch. Extensive wine list. I feel that it is even better than ALO. I guess if I really want to be picky, then it is the location. It is a little difficult to find. Updates: This place is still one of my favorite restaurants. I have revisited them several times and the quality of food is still awesome.

Im glad I spent the evening here. Everything was at the highest level. All the food from appetizers to dessert created a magical experience. The waiter was very friendly and his wine recommendations hit the spot! I will definitely come back here again.

Great ambience, overall food was good. Really enjoyed the Burrata Pizza as well as the seafood pasta. the Branzino is worth trying as well. Only downside is felt like the food was slightly overpriced for what they had to offer and the service was slow. Would come back for the pizza though!

Buca is my absolute favourite restaurant of all time. My husband and I went here on one of our early dates, and fondly celebrated various milestones here (engagement, anniversaries, moving, pregnancy...). Weve since moved away from Toronto but make a point of visiting every time were in the city, and it always becomes a trip highlight. Buca is warm, comfortable, and consistently delicious. The flavours are sophisticated and diverse. Weve tried the majority of their menu at this point, but our absolute favourites are: nodini, branzino, polpo e vongole, scamorza pizze, polpo pizze, and funghi pizze. The staff has always been warm, attentive, and accommodating. We are looking forward to visiting Buca for many years to come, celebrating more milestones, and sharing it with our daughter. Nothing else comes close! Thank you for being such a special part of our lives.

I took my best friend of 20 years out for her birthday dinner yesterday - the food was amazing, service was incredible. As someone who is a great cook, I have no reason to go out for dinner and often have regrets when I do. That is not the case at Buca. We were treated incredibly and had a wonderful evening. They gifted her a box of fresh pasta to take home as a birthday gave - how special. Thank you to everyone at Buca, what a great night out!

If youre looking for a fancy spot of Italiano culture, this little corner of heaven is it. From the service to the food, everything is done with so much passion and it shows. In our group of six, every single dish we tried was 10/10. The Burrata (Pizza) was what I personally ordered and it ranks among the best pizzas Ive ever had. Yeah, really. Dont miss out on desserts either! We got the last pizzelle of the night and it was fit for royalty. If you have the means, try this place at least once. You will not regret it.

This is our first visit back post-pandemic. We were blown away by the incredible knowledge of the staff, how attentive they were to my Dads gluten allergy, and if course the amazing food. Upon arrival; our table wasn t ready so they sat us in an high top table and gave us complimentary champagne while waiting. We started off our meal with Northern Italian Pinot Noir - Frecciarossa Giorgio Odero Pinot Nero 2012; very smooth and light perfect pair. We shared plenty of dishes like Cavoletti di Bruxelles - Brussel Sprouts were cooked perfectly. The combination of guanciale, anchovy butter & crumble croutons make this dish one of a kind. Excellent substitution to your typical let s order the Caesar Salad. Polpo e Vongole - octopus and clams were divine! Perfectly cooked! Loved it! Very light dish as well. Definitely a must try and you do not get tiny pieces of octopus you actually get a full one which the more the merrier. Maccheroncini di Campofilone - amazing & delicious is all I have to say about it! Must order! Bigoli - don t get scared of trying duck; this duck egg pasta is definitely one in a lifetime to try. So creamy and delicious. The Venetian spices, mascarpone and basil gives it a whole new perspective of what Italian cuisine has advanced and how other chef s are creative with their dishes daily. Reginette - if the menu has a wild variety of protein that you normally do not see; I m definitely ordering it! This wild boar pasta was divine. The shaved Parmigiano cheese & chanterelle mushroom were perfect! Adding an extra exotic touch to this hand made pasta. Ps. Loved that all pasta dishes were cooked Al dente (if you know, you know) Ending our meal for dessert we had Pizzele - WOW it s all I have to say! Highly recommended! Make sure you arrive early if you make a reservation as parking is hard to find.

4/5 but bumping it to 4.5/5due to the great service. I came here for dinner to celebrate my partners birthday on July 24th. Emily was our server. Emily did seem quite busy, but she did take her time going through the wine list to try and figure out what we liked with the food we were going to have. She was a great waitress along with others who attended our table as well. Now onto the dishes: Nodini (Garlioc knots with garlic, olive oil, and rosemary) 4/5 This dish came out hot, and the aroma filled the air. The outside was the right amount of hardness with a soft but chewy inside that went really well with the garlic and olive oil. Best bang for buck probably, but this should be eaten right away as it gets quite hard and chewy if you dont finish it before it cools down. It was great, but not mindblowing (like the other bread we tried which is listed below). Branzino (Raw european sea bass finished with prosecco, lemon, olive oil, and grated rock salt) 4.5/5 This comes out with the server showing us the fish they are going to cut, and they do it right infront of you. The ingredients went REALLY well with the fish, taking away its fishy-ness and enhancing the delicate flavor of the fish. Carne Cruda (Raw beef, mushroom conserva, cured egg yolk, with brioche) 5.5/5 It truly was better than 5/5 lol This was hands down our favourite. It was REALLY good. Probably my favorite beef tartare. The cured egg yolk went perfectly with the raw beef and the brioche was so good! The brioche came nicely toasted, and was quite buttery. The pairing of the two was just incredible. Bigoli (Duck egg pasta with duck offal ragu, spices, mascarpone, and basil) 3/5 The pasta was a bit of a let down for us. I love al dente, but the pasta felt undercooked. The presentation was unappealing and the taste was just okay. Tagliatelle (Hens egg pasta, Boston sea urchin, St. Bridigs butter, Siberian caviar, and lemon) 3/5 I love uni, and given the price ($65), I honestly thought there would be more uni flavor. The pasta felt a bit undercooked again, and we felt it lacked a bit in flavor. Brioche (extra) When we had it with Carne Cruda, I just had to get more. Emily asked the chef and they gave us 4 extra slices. But just a heads up: it was $15 for 4 slices so just keep that in mind when you do order it because I was quite surprised when I saw the bill. lol Tiramisu 4/5 This dish had a espresso soaked sponge in the middle that was covered in thin layer of dark chocolate in the shape of a dome, with a lot of mascarpone cream on top. The chocolate was pretty thin but it tasted amazing and went well with the dish. I do wish that the ratio of sponge and chocolate is a bit higher, as there were quite a few spoonfuls of cream we had without any of the inside content. Overall, the dishes were amazing except for the pasta dishes. We really didnt enjoy the pasta, but I would love to come back for the other dishes. Also, it was a nice touch for the chef to come out and give my partner a small birthday gift which was a DIY Cacio De Pepe to bring back home.

In town for business and had such a mixed experience at Buca. The atmosphere is very modern and chic. The menu looked very delicious. However, we had a gluten intolerant member of our party who at first the wait staff seemed very accommodating. They have multiple pasta offerings available gluten free, they would boil it in separate water etc. However, when their entree was brought out the pasta wasnt event cooked. so much so the noodles wouldnt even bend in some places. We asked to have addressed they took her plate and the waitstaff had thr audacity to come out and be like oh are you sure it wasnt just al dente? fortunately we had put one of thr discarded pieces on a separate plate (one of us had taken a noodle to try) and were like you can see its still hard in the noodle. Then because we were a group we ordered a couple items we intended to all try and the initial wait staff was like well which one do you want ? and we had to advise multiple times we wanted all the options. That all being said the other food was good. Highly recommend the salads. Bother were delicious.

Most dishes we ve had today was amazing. Service was great as well. I have to say, to my surprise, their burrata pizza was one of the best I ve had. Lobster, calimari and clam was so fresh. This was the best clam, sweet, no sand, even its gut felt sweet and umami. I just thought their prosciutto fish/tuna series is too fishy and seemed like those fish used in these were not very fresh.

The food was the most mediocre food in the city. Don t waste your money here for good cuisine, try the olives and the pizza, everything else is absolutely terrible. I d never go back. Four people, the bill was over $1000 and the food might as well have been from Jack Astors. Literally one of the most over rated dinners in Toronto (and they love to over rate restaurants here).

4.5 the food was really good. I came here for my anniversary dinner and service prompt and all the food we ordered was above expectations. The only thing I had an issue with was the braised octopus that the server said was their signature dish. I don t think they thoroughly washed the octopus tentacles since there was sand or dirt that left a gritty feeling between your teeth. I didn t say anything because we had small hiccup when we ordered that server immediately fixed so I didn t want to be difficult. Overall, the prices are high imo worth it.

Buca opened for a long time in Toronto and have several locations. This one in Yorkville under the Four Seasons Residence is one of their best. Their pizza is very good and also the lobster angel hair pasta. Highly recommended

I would give 0 star due to service if possible. It s absolutely nonexistent. Server never checked in with us nor follow up until we proactively request for assistance once they find out that majority of us is not interested in having wine/drinks. The whole meal took 3 hours plus with half of the time just waiting for proceeding to next dishes and 15 minutes of wait time just to get the bill. We gave honest feedback to the person who brought us the bill (not the same waiter)and all I heard was: sorry it s busy night and I was only told to get the bill just now. Definitely no respect nor care. The food were okay but nothing amazing given the price point. The service level simply ruined the whole experience. Very disappointing.

This beautiful restaurant is connected to Four Seasons Hotel; which tells you just how high the expectations would be. First off, you notice right away how gorgeous the decor is when you walk in. This is such a great spot for a date night. The server we had was absolutely amazing; he provided great recommendations and was attentive to our needs. The menu was difficult to understand as parts of it were in French/ I didn t know all the ingredients. But our server was helpful and patient with us. I was happy with the variety of dishes that were vegetarian as I can t eat the meat here. My friends really enjoyed their version of beef tartare. I loved the pasta I had, it was the BALANZONI. It was a smaller portion but really hit the spot. I also liked the garlic knots but wish they had been softer. I would come here again.

About 30% of the tomahawk steak was fat and was very greasy overall. Waiter s response was very rude when we brought up our issues.

The food was good and the pizzas were I had the $50 lobster pasta. It shouldve been cheaper because there wasnt much flavor but it was good. And the service was great! The servers was on point.

Where to start? The service was worth some of the best restaurants in Europe. Yet, you feel welcome and almost at home... Not like the best restaurants in Europe. Our waitress was adorable and accommodated us with extra bread for free and additional main on the go. It might not sounds amazing but, the feeling of being welcome and allowed to ask some specials requests is great! Food: top. Price: according to what you get!

This was our first Buca experience. This place is such a miss. The one positive was the pizza was good. Honestly though its hard to make a bad pizza. The octopus was tasteless, totally under seasoned. We ordered a bottle of red wine - it came to the table, warm. The pear salad was a let down. Pears are in season and the fruit did not standout. The salad was simply goat cheese and balsamic on radicchio with pear. For a Toronto high end restaurant the cookery and service were below par. They need to have their chefs eat at Berhardts or prime steak & seafood to see what level of food they need to be delivering. In conclusion lack luster service paired with piss warm wine and below par cooking combine to make this a place to avoid spending your hard earned cash. Sorry Buca but look yourself in the mirror and ask yourselves the hard questions. Are we good enough? Is our food up to par for the price we are asking? That is of course us if you care. Maybe your in the buisness of stealing our money? We will not be back.

Very tasty foods...welcoming host.... we were treated very generously

From my experience last month. Firstly, the place is lovely. The service is also lovely. The food? Yummmm! Had the uni pasta! Amazing. The menu changes frequently so I dont see it on the menu currently. The Nodini (bread knots) were so yummy. Simple yet delicious. Also ordered a pizza. There was a miscommunication so we ended up being served the wrong pizza. But we did not even notice because it was still super yummy. The waitress did not hesitate to rectify the situation tho so we were given the original pizza we wanted without even inquiring ! Amazing experience overall !

The hostess is quite rude

Visitez Boca because we had seen the amazing présentation of the truffée espresso Martini. They apparently only do this at one location. We started our evening by asking the servir Dimitrius about this. He was very short and seemed annoyed we even asked. Said it is only at their Vaughan location. Asked if we could do à substitution for the salad greens - no. Wouldnt even bother to ask the kitchen. Overall the foccacia bread was delicious. The salad was average and the server was rude. After working for 10+ years in the service industry I expected more from a top rated restaurant. I will not be back.

I have been to Buca (King W.) location twice, and had an absolutely amazing experience (food, service and atmosphere). My wife and I decided to go to the Yorkville location for her birthday, and that was a mistake. I have never been at a fine dine restaurant in my life where the actual time we ate and enjoyed our meals was 10 minutes only. And the wait time was 2 hours to get our food. We showed up and were seated at around 07:40pm and left at ~10:00pm. During this time, we enjoyed two (2) obnoxious groups who were extremely loud and disruptive of others. Buca staff did not do anything to calm them down. The server towards the end, did mention the reason for the extremely slow service was because they had a lot of people come at the same time, and they have a new chef. Which I want feel bad for the servers; but not an excuse when you go to a $$$$ setting, and spend +$300 on your meal. You expect decent (if not great service/experience.) It was my wifes birthday, and this ruined our evening. Never coming to this location ever again.

Loved everything about this place.

Amazing experience at Buca for our very first visit! Everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations (focaccia bread, olives, short rib pizza, wagyu steak). The highlight was the wagyu steak that just melted when we took a bite, and it blew us away. It was probably one of the best steaks I ve ever had in my life! Restaurant inside has a really nice ambiance and it wasn t too loud inside. Definitely will be going back!

Great experience I had! Everything was perfect. The food was good and the Prosecco as well. I would like to say Emanuel s customer service was such outstanding service and communication with friendly and smile. Thank you all for the great experience and will for sure be back!

I was stoked to go here for my birthday. The food was alright- not worth the price. I felt quite sick for a few days after. Also they made the wrong drink for me and immediately took it away when I said it was wrong even though most places usually let you keep the drink. I had to pay to have a candle in a 9$ tiny scoop of gelato and it was my bday. I have had free cake from chains!

Always an incredible experience at Buca. To make it an even more amazing experience, hope that Demitrus is your server. He is fun, engaging, and just a pro at what he does. The service is always on point here. We ordered the Vitello Tonnato (must try!), Fritto Misto, Bigoli and the Risotto. The Bigoli is hands down the best on the menu imo. I only wish it was a bigger portion because its so good. For dessert we opted for the Tiramisu and the Pizzelle. The Tiramisu is deconstructed and beautifully presented. The same can be said for the Pizzelle as well. Dessert portions are more generious. Enjoy!

I highly recommend the branzino raw fish that they cut table side. It s so simple yet so good. Their pastas are also really unique. They have a sommelier who can suggest wines pairings for you.

Service, food and atmosphere was great!! HOWEVER, do not order the tiramisu unless you really like a bitter/black liquorice flavour. Its a modern spin and not what was expected, so dont be like me and read the menu carefully.

The braised octopus was delicious, crispy on the end of the legs and firmer going up and the broth and mini pasta its in is to die for! Staff sold us on getting a wine bottle as they have the best bottles of wines in the world (or so I m told). He made a good red wine recommendation. The desserts were just okay, the tiramisu missed the mark for me as it was too untraditional and the waffle with the citrus crepe was not amazing. For the price, it s great for a special occasion - I d suggest getting an entree and a glass of wine then going elsewhere for drinks and desserts.

Food was good. Although the ambience was extremely noisy and the close proximity to the adjacent table made things even more unpleasant. Service was unusually slow and the menu took more than 10 minutes to arrive after seating. Furthermore, there were several items that were sold out but this was not mentioned in advance. As someone who s been to the restaurant several times, this was highly atypical. Hoping for future improvements.

My first experience with Buca was incredible. We ordered the Branzino, where the staff prepared the plate for us table side which was a nice touch; it was delicious, and the upscale setting/atmosphere matched how we felt about the food. Marco was our waiter and he was very attentive to our questions. He assuaged our fears and confirmed that the Branzino wouldnt be too filling, given our small appetite at the time and also suggested the Nodini which were an excellent pairing. However, after our phenomenal experience we found out about how the parent company stiffed their vendors during the COVID pandemic which left us conflicted about how we feel about the restaurant. Our overall experience was a 10/10, but will have second thoughts about recommending the restaurant to our friends and family given this newfound knowledge.

Service was excellent and the food always tastes amazing

Service and atmosphere were great. Garlic bread (knots) were fresh and well seasoned. The pizza (truffle) had an amazing crust - though the pizza was not hot when it arrived. The lobster angel hair pasta was ok - though the lobster had a day old hint to it. Nothing wrong with anything, just no dish that made us say wow which was the exception to the five top restaurants we tried in Toronto

A bit underwhelming. I firstly have to say that I don t consume dairy, the only animal products I consume are seafood so it was really hard for me to eat at Buca. Our server did a great job pointing out what I could eat; but all the bread had butter (really, even the dairy eaters on the table were unhappy with that). Service was amazing, jt was a bit too loud in the space but overall an underwhelming experience. I personally wouldn t go again.

Service top notch. Super friendly and make you feel comfortable even if youre unsure of certain menu items. We didnt want the starters and our waiter served our 4 main meals as family style, with smaller individual plates to serve. I am positive that other fancy places would be fussy about that. Food is incredible every time I go here. Every pizza is high quality and insanely delicious and savoury. Slow cooked lamb just insane. Not a huge variety of pasta options but still highly recommend. 5 stars.

Dined here in June while staying at the Hazleton. We were eagerly awaiting a good Italian experience. The place was highly recommended. Firstly we were sat next to a group of 4 very loud students. One had dropped his sandals off and played with his feet all night which was a bit distracting.. our server was excellent and explained the menu well. We left it in his hands to deliver the full courses. The wine was great but really, the food was only average. Mains were linguini (over-sauced and not al dente) and risotto (tiny plate and I make better. The rice was about a minute under cooked and chalky). I completed the restaurant requested review with similar comments but they haven t replied. I understand that. But still a bit arrogant. Won t go back.

Very, very overrated .nice ambience, but the food was nothing memorable. The maccheroncini with lobster pasta was awful mushy and over cooked Angel hair pasta was not the right choice for this sauce all in all, overrated, and way overpriced .

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately the lobster pasta came our cold. What s worse is when we told our waiter he said he would let the chef know but didn t offer to replace nothing. A first class restaurant whisk of offers to bring out a hot dish. In addition the place was freezing my wife complained and they responded well no one else has complained. Won t be going back sorry guys much neatest places such as Soto Soro the sled took of food is not great here sorry.

Beautiful and elegant restaurant. We tasted a good fried shrimps and calamari as appetizer, then a risotto with shrimp buts there was parmesan over that from my point of view had covered the delicate taste of the shimprs. The dessert was something fantastic: layers of pancakes garnished with cream and whipped cream and covered with lemon cream. Good italian wine. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Suggested!

I would have much preferred not to write this but if I can prevent one person from wasting their time and money it will be worth it. We were guests at the Hazelton in Yorkville and Buca was recommended by the concierge. I should have spotted the red flag when many tables were empty at 8:00 on a Friday night. The pizza came with tuna salami. As someone who has eaten in some of the best restaurants im the world, I was open minded. The fishy smell hit me before it reached the table. It tasted like dried rotten fish--barely edible. $45.00 gone. I shied away from the $245.00 beef chop and went for what I thought would be safe-- a stuffed cheese ravioli and cream sauce with mushrooms on top. It was bland and the mushrooms tasted like they were boiled. Every meal at our table was not only sub par but tasteless and poorly constructed. And then the bill: $500.00 for three. This restaurant is all hype, flash and no substance. Avoid at all costs!

Absolute favorite restaurant in the city.

While the food was all very fresh and the atmosphere pleasant and comfortable. The food seemed to lack a quality and taste that I would expect from Buca and this price point. Expectations were high and some of the food almost lived up to it. But cant say I will be returning as there are just better option in the city right now.

For the price for four people, I was disappointed. Perhaps seasoning was too subtle but even the $175 seafood platter seemed bland with the mussels, scallops, oysters, shrimp and lobster having very little difference in taste or texture. The shrimp were limp, slimy and not impressive. One regular menu item (pasta with lobster) - not a daily special that 2 guests at our table wanted was sold out and we were advised by wait staff to put our orders in now to make sure the items were available when we were ready to eat. One of our guests wanted to enjoy several mocktails without the table knowing they were not imbibing - yet the message was not passed on from the waiter to the bar service staff (though we clearly stated our intention) and it was announced here is your mocktail. Surprisingly ordinary even disappointing meal that we were hoping to enjoy and celebrate during. Not sure what happened...

Just had one of the finest meals of 2022. The seafood charcuterie is a must for any first time diner. They have truffles from alba that are shaved onto perfectly cooked pasta. The highlight was the zucca con bechamel fonduta with toasted hazelnuts. A picture wont do it justice. You have to go and experience this dish in real life. I think it is one of the most whimsical and delicious vegetarian dishes i have ever had. Buon appetito!

If you want overpriced food, low quality service, come to Buca. It s really sad to see because buca used to be one of my favourite restaurants. However, this recent experience was beyond disappointing. No one took our coat, cocktail made by reception person, unfriendly service, overpriced food that doesn t even taste good (a pasta that tasted like it s made with canned tuna). Will not go back ever again and I highly encourage you to do the same.

Really unique food & flavours at this Buca location. This Buca is more seafood forward compared to the one on king. I loved the caramelle pasta. With the sage on top MMMM. My family s fave was the lobster pasta. The table side branzino was also a huge portion & so refreshing.

What can I say, Buca is my favorite restaurant in the city! We always get the pizza (with burrata) which I love, but this time we tried the octopus and carpaccio which were equally as delightful. The ambiance is elegant and the prices are fair. Definitely order a latte after your meal as well, their coffee is amazing!

Update: Food is still good. However, service can vary a lot depending on which server your table is paired with. Our server with glasses on was extremely unprofessional and ignored our table all the time until other servers came to help. Whole dinner with one appetizer, paste, pizza and dessert took 2.5 hours. Great food, kind of below average dessert. We tried the sea bass and seafood daily selections before and did not like how everything just tasted like olive oil and salt. This time we tried the tuna dish it was actually quite good in the sense that you can at least taste the fish. Pasta and Pizza were always perfect.

Miraculous food Excellent services The pasta here is exquisite yet comforting with unusual combination. In-house dry-aged duck breasts and tuna sausage are surely not your everyday grub that worth a try. Their Tiramisu is a must-try, definitely one of the best in town. Simple decor with a warm cozy vibe, children friendly. Highly recommended.
