Buono Ristorante in Toronto

We went to Buono to celebrate my daughter s birthday. The staff were attentive and the food was great. I highly recommend Buono.

Terrible pizza. Barely any cheese. Possibly one small asparagus spear cut up on the pizza, either mushroom or Gorgonzola (I forget which!) so little it may as well not have been there, and a mound of prosciutto plonked in huge pieces on the top.

Today at the best restaurant, I tried shrimp pasta, the best test and I recommend this restaurant to everyone

I had an interesting experience here for lunch recently, went in and ordered a lunch special posted on the board. It was a fish dish of some sort. Food arrived and was delicious but was lacking the potatoes that on the board posting were said to be included. The server tells me it s a mistake written on the board but that it would be corrected. He is apologetic, which was nice, and brings me potatoes however by the time they arrive the fish is cooled but the potatoes are sweltering hot. Nevertheless fish was delicious nonetheless. I asked for my bill and it was promptly brought over however when it arrives I see that I m charged $38 for what it says is a custom order. Not something you d expect of a lunch special considering that this makes it essentially the 2nd most expensive dish on the entire menu. I tip 25% and say nothing of the matter because frankly I m in a rush and have no time to ask questions but it all seems odd to me that a fish fillet with potatoes on the lunch special menu is more expensive than a steak dinner with potatoes on the dinner menu. Anyways thought people should know of my odd experience here.

I ordered the lasagna special. When it finally arrived, it contained nothing more than a few thin slices of chicken and zucchini in a cheese sauce, and no lasagna noodles whatsoever. For this I was charged $26. I felt insulted and ripped off.

I m slow in posting this, apologies! I enjoy a solo lunch as a small little treat of peace for myself. The hospitality I receive here is second to none. The food is outstanding but what I really love is the warmth. They are open to my minor modifications making me feel like a welcomed guest. The chef even came to introduce himself when he recognize my order! I return with friends and business colleagues but what I really treasure are my quiet lunches. Many thanks for making me feel special.

The food and service were excellent. We ordered a Fried Calamari, a Flatbread Bruschetta, a Linguine Pescatore, a daily-special chicken dish, a kid size pasta with Alfredo sauce and Tiramisu. My kid absolutely loved the pasta. And honestly, the linguine pescatore and tiramisu were the best Ive ever had.

We came here for lunch today and the food was excellent. Our server Mathew was very helpful and professional. He gave us great advice on pasta selection and food choices. Highly recommend anyone to come here for some real authentic Italian food!

Unfortunately, I feel like I just paid 80 bucks for two frozen pizzas. No joke the dough was really bad and the shape was a perfect circle, not a handmade one. The sauce same quality and the toppings are almost the same. The service was on though. Food : 1/5

I am half Italian, I make my own pasta and everything Italian, and my husbands fave food is Italian. Such a disappointment this restaurant. We felt we were in a funeral, horrible music, we had to whisper (although it was empty), food was everything BUT NOT Italian. My risotto was dry (more like a rice mixed with mushrooms, and huge pieces), no flavour or creamy at all. The parmeggiano cheese they use is dry and has no flavour at all. Good restaurants do grate the cheese when food is served, never have the cheese already greated. Water was only served when food came, my husbands pasta was thick, huge pieces, no flavour. Wall is all white, not an Italian atmosphere at all. Server was okay, but just like a robot. And nobody there speaks Italian. I guess they have never ever been or.ate autentic Italian food, which is rich in flavour. By the way, he served our food, and asked if we wanted salt and pepper (we did not taste it before he asked, no salt or pepper on the table), and when my husband asked for pepper, the server added what he thought was good. For the kind of food they serve, waaaay overpriced, and we do not mind paying a high price for dinner, if it is in our standarts of quality and flavour. We just wanted to get out of there. That was a first, we stayed in the restaurant 40 mins. And they had Creme Brulet for desert and that is FRENCH. They also had Tiramisu, but we did not want to risk, as the food was horrible. Never going back. If one is not picky with the quality of their food, might like it, but it is not for us. You ARE NOT having a second chance. Our experience was very traumatizing, food was horrible and no excuses if you want to have an Italian restaurant. I hope to never, ever, have to go there. There are lovely authentic Italian restaurants that we are frequent customers, and we are not changing our way of eating REAL Italian food for an Italian food violation restaurant.

We had pasta there this afternoon . All were well beyond my expectations. Everything is so fresh and warm. Best i have ever had. Out of this world. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend this place

Excellent lamb ragu pasta - big portion?

We visited Buono for Mothers Day and it was my familys first time dining here. We had a 6pm reservation and it wasnt busy when we arrived. My family was first to arrive and we had to wait for my parents and my brother and his wife as they were stuck in traffic. We were greeted with an older waiter who was friendly and accommodating to our 2 year old daughter. Once our entire party arrived, a new waiter tended to our table. He was not very personable and did not seem as friendly. This is when our experience started to go downhill. When our main courses came out after a pretty long wait (restaurant wasnt too busy at this time) my SILs meal was the wrong dish. The waiter wasnt very apologetic for inputting the wrong order and made it sound like it was her fault, when we all heard her order the chicken. They brought her a chicken pizza. The waiter then said they were all out of the chicken and she could order something different off the menu and we could keep the pizza on the house. We were not offered re-fills on our waters until we asked, and even then, the server looked annoyed that we had even asked. The food itself was average. Most of us ordered a pasta dish, my brother had the risotto and my sister in-law ended up getting the salmon. We all agreed that the food was O.K. I had a caesar salad to start and that was pretty bad. The lettuce tasted old and dry. To end off our poor experience, I believe we were charged for the pizza we didnt order (or it may have been for a salmon appetizer the waiter brought (just dropped it off and walked away) that we never ordered, which he took back). It was my fault for not checking the bill in detail before paying, but our bill ended up being $280 after tax and tip. My mother called and said she felt like we had to pay for the pizza, so I went back on their website to add up our order and I do think we were charged for said pizza. Under different circumstances (if our experience had been pleasant), I wouldnt mind just eating the cost of the pizza. However, the fact that the evening was subpar, service was bad and food was average, being charged for an item we did not order and were told would be on the house, just stings even more. My family and I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this establishment.

Service was good and patio was pleasant but our food was only okay. We went for brunch and the food was underwhelming. Maybe their dinner meals (pasta, pizza etc) are better though - can t speak to that.

My first time at Buono and I would definitely come back again. Food was amazing. I had Penne Vodka Verde. We were a group of five. Others had different types of pasta and one had branzino. Everyone liked their food. Service was great. The restaurant owner and the staff are very friendly. Definitely recommend. It s a must try place.

The best pasta I had in a very long time. I am a vegetarian and the restaurant had plenty of options. The soup of the day was outstanding and the service was the sweetest. Highly recommend this place and will definitely go back for more.

On the Mothers Day My firends and I went to this resturant and expecting good service and food. first of all the service was very bad , food was garbage. I ordered lasanga , it was served very very cold and you could see froozen cheese on top of it ,it was from the prepered frozen cheap package. i asked the waiter to warm it up and he had so much attitude. price was very expensive compare to what we get. None of my firends were happy with their food. never go there.ever.

Unfriendly customer service. Waited too long to get the menu and drinks(coffee). Low quality coffee and food. My order was a veggie Omlette but I only got two pieces of green pepper and two sliced mushrooms. The size of the omlette was so small. No toasts and home style fries with the omlette.

Me and my family went here for mothers day. Friendly staff and good food. Had the ceaser salad with their own house made dressing it was very good. Knocking off a star for the insanely overcooked grilled chicken, that I got with the salad. It was so hard I couldnt even chew it. Like dried hard cardboard. As a suggestion to the owners. Perhaps using a meat thermometer to control the quality. Chicken breast can be super juicy if done right. And its not hard. Other than that it wad a very pleasant experience. I would reccomend a visit. Parking: Parking on Bayview is a nightmare. Check the side streets.

Decided to come here due to hunger instead of having to wait for the other more popular brunch locations, and seeing it was empty we could expect food to come faster. My friend and I sat down before another table of 5 had arrived. We ordered the weekly brunch specials: Big Brunch Special 3 Eggs with bacon, spicy sausage, potatoes and salad. When asked how I want my eggs, I said over medium. My friend ordered the avocado toast. Our order took over 30 minutes to arrive. The table of 5 that had ordered after us, had already finished their meals. Our tables at the other restaurants were already available. We considered leaving, but out of respect for the chef we stayed. The portions were tiny, we were still hungry after our meal which costed $25 a person. The salad was slimy as it wasnt fresh. The eggs were scrambled, the spicy sausage might have been jerky as it was dry and rubbery. The avocado toast, had literally one egg on it that was overcooked. Not once did the waiter apologize or offer any type of service to us. Not sure if this place is good for Italian food, but do not come here for brunch. Only thing good about this place was the patio seating. but thats available everywhere on this street.

sat next to a table that came after us and finished their whole meal before we even got ours. The waiter did not once acknowledge us until 30- 40 min later to tell us the food will be there in 2 minutes (that did not happen) I dont normally write reviews but this is one of the most horrible experiences ive had. Bella Italia: What a precious little charmer! I had the impression of being transported right away to the heart of Italy the moment I walked in. The air was filled with the comforting aroma of freshly cooked bread. The pasta dishes were so delicious that I couldnt help but order more! Service was really good, but the food was hit or miss. The pizza was quite tasty, but the lasagna was cold, which is something that another reviewer also mentioned.

Had a strange experience with the server. The was very dismissive and rude to our table of 2. However was very attentive to the table of 2 behind us. Didn t bring us parm or pepper and didn t check in during the meal. It felt cold and inattentive. He spent a long time talking to the other table and seemed much more chatty and friendly. Not sure if this is relevant but we were the only brown people in the restaurant and were sort of ignored throughout compared to others. Food was good.

I would call it a pasta heaven rather than a restaurant as we hardly find such a huge menu and almost every dish in menu is carrying own kind of taste and flavors, surely gonna visit again and looking to try each and every dish in the menu.
