Had a wonderful dinner and the service was incredible. We sat out on the heated balcony which was perfect. I had pizza and their salad which was delicious.

TIRAMISU SO GOOD

Went there with a big group of people tonight and the service was impeccable. The two ladies that served us were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. I had the sea bass and the tiramissu, but it was the outstanding service that made the night a remarkable experience.

I had the 6oz flat iron steak and I would say it was a good portion, but some of the others from my group that had the same dish got a piece much smaller than mine. The two girls that served our group, of about 25 people, provided an excellent service. There were some moments where I feel like some of the people in our group were rude, and I feel so bad for that. Girls, you two were amazing!!! I was socializing in two different tables and they kept track of what I was drinking, my food and everything else! I have never seen a great service as those two could provide this night. If I find out their names, I will update my review!

Lucas the waiter was fantastic! He was professional, attentive and very personable. I highly recommend this restaurant and a bonus if you get Lucas as your server!

Update March/23: Still great; service somewhat spotty. Update: Second time weve had dinner; much better than Happy Hour. Our new go to for pasta. Was caught in the changeover of staff from lunch to dinner; went for drinks & appies for Happy Hour; waited a ridiculously long time for my drink. In all fairness, the manager comped the drink. Food was very good.

Editing my review as the menu has changed, and the service is no longer good. The Bolognese pasta is completely different now the pasta shape, taste, texture, and portion size have all changed. The eggplant pizza and pesto pasta are no longer on the menu. Additionally, the service has declined significantly. Im disappointed and today was probably my last visit. Regarding the service: I asked to change my order within five minutes, and the server confirmed that the change could be made. However, they still served the item I had canceled. Also, when we were seated, the server asked if we wanted tap water or sparkling water, making it seem like both were complimentary. However, we were billed $6 for a glass of sparkling water. July 2024 My absolute favourite Italian spot! Lovely ambience, incredibly cool and welcoming staff, and the food quality is just exceptional!! From pastas and pizzas, to steak and dolci! Not a single item on the menu fails to surprise me! My top favs: Bolognese pasta, eggplant pizza, and chocolate tarte!

Charming and welcoming Italian on Yonge near St. Clair. Really accommodating when we were late for our reservation. Food was excellent, really fantastic. Service was warm and friendly. The neighborhood is lucky to have a place like this!

A nice and cozy restaurant. We were walking nearby and saw it in Googles recommendations. We were greeted by a very hospitable guest and the waiter helped me choose the wine to go with my pizza. We thought we would take 1 pizza for two, but the portion is calculated for one person. Therefore, we took pizza with arugula and prosciutto and pasta. It was delicious.

Went for birthday lunch mid May on a Wednesday. Had a reservation for 12:30. Disappointed to see two tables of 6-8 highschool boys each from local private school having pizza lunch. More disappointed by waiter coming to take drinks order to tell us they had no Prosecco! LCBO is just down the road ha! Then comes to take lunch order and only mentions it then that 3 options are no longer available. The beet salad is now tomato to be more seasonal. Asparagus is in season but not tomatoes! Maybe dinner is better but I doubt we ll be back

Wonderful Italian restaurant in the St.Clair/Summerhill neighbourhood. Capocaccia has been around for a long time and its been consistently delicious with wonderful service. Its a neighbourhood gem.

We received fantastic service. The waiter had mentioned lamb as a lunch special. But was mistaken, it was veal. Let us know that the kitchen would prepare a lamb dish that they normally do for dinners. The food was delicious and the dessert too.

We didnt like the food at all , Brockolini was burned, artichokes were From canned jars and then burned. Pasta wasnt good, veal was ok, nothing special. Overall go spend money somewhere else. Waiter was good trying to accommodate as best he could, despite the fact that everything else was just bad

Paper too salty

Everything here was outstanding across the board. The reason I docked stars is because the chef was refusing to add anchovies to the pizza. When we initially asked our server (who is absolutely incredible, her name is Amy, highly recommend requesting to sit at her table), she needed to check with the chef. Upon her return, I saw the chef GLARING at me (unsure why). I simply asked if they can put the anchovies on the pizza, since they refused, I asked if I could just get them on the side. The chef was glaring at me the whole time, like I had truly inconvenienced him. In the end, we got anchovies on the side (although likely without the chef s official approval). I apologize to the chef for customizing his carefully thought out dish , but when I want something customized (with an ingredient which is already on other pizzas), I prefer to simply get my requested change. Always do my best to avoid changes if possible, but this change was so minimal there was no reason for him to refuse. Then throughout the whole meal, I could see him giving me a death stare every few minutes. All in all, pizza was great (even better with the anchovies, but I m no chef )

My wife and I were in the neighborhood and as we were walking by Capocaccia Trattoria we decided to drop in for lunch. The food and service was on point. Actually dessert was so good I had the tiramisu, which has to be the best in all of Toronto, and my wife had the flourless chocolate cake my wife and I ordered seconds. The only disappointing aspect of our visit was that the atmosphere felt as if we were eating in an Eastside Marios... the feel was industrial.

Ive been in a few times but today I had the best server I could have asked for! Simon was incredibly attentive and wonderful. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. This place is a great neighborhood joint with amazing food and a great team.

Paid $60 for 2 Pepperoni Pizzas. The place looked like an over stocked furniture store, crowed tables. They put us on the patio, the heaters are on the ceiling we had to put on our hats so our hair wouldnt burn. The waitress tried hard to upsell, she asked us 5 times if we want drinks. She didnt have a clue, when we ask her about certain items. The food, nothing really to warrant the price. Dont waste your time and money. Could get better food and a better ambiance if we ate at the Loblaws up the street.

Mediocre food for ridiculously high prices. I don t mind paying good money for good food but this ain t it. Pizza taste the same as a frozen pizza I m currently eating right now from farm boy. You re paying for the atmosphere but the atmosphere is designed for old rich people. And an 18% tip minimum on their machine tells you what kind of establishment they are.

Had a great experience tonight. Im a tough guest because i eat plant based and am not drinking. Elizabeth the bartender was amazing at adjusting some dishes to make them vegan and i was able to have a non alcoholic beer. My meal was amazing and still full of flavour. The broccollini was the best i have ever had. I also highly recommend the salad with the radicchio and carrot purree. Simple and very elegant....and delicious. There is a reason this place has been around for 20 years....quality ingrediants and spectacular service. Thank u to the whole team.

Capocaccia Trattoria is a fantastic Italian restaurant in midtown with a cozy patio ambiance. Their homemade pasta and sauce is simply perfect, and I highly recommend it over the pizza. The friendly staff adds to the overall experience. A must-visit for authentic Italian cuisine. I visited on a quiet Sunday evening dinner so I found the atmosphere a little dull for my taste but doesn t take away from the excellent food and service.

We went to Capocaccia for lunch on Thursday Dec 29, 2022 after being in the area for an appointment . This is a nicely laid out Italian restaurant on the end of the block at Yonge and Balmoral. They make good cappuccinos and coffees, and serve up delicious pizzas enough for two people. We also enjoyed the music playlist that Andries had playing in the background. This is a place that can accommodate a large family gathering, a intimate dinner for two, or a few friends or colleagues who want to hang out after work at the bar. Note: no substitutions or additions to menu items, although if possible they will remove items that you don t want. Overall, a very good find as a restaurant when we weren t looking for one.

The food was ok. The pizza had a nice thin crust but very few toppings, especially considering the price. Our server was friendly, but the manager was not friendly at all, from welcoming us to later serving. He brought our food but didnt clean the table after the appetizers. They also mixed up our pizza with the other table but didnt even say sorry. So this pizza was sitting on a neighbouring table, and he just placed it on ours without a word. Overall, we didn t feel welcomed and won t come back.

We were a large group so we had a set menu. Each dish was tasty and the portions were just right. Though it was expensive it is a nice place to have filling and flavorful Italian dishes.

The food is good with many classics on the menu- great for a team lunch or an intimate dinner. They have a lot of seating including a heated patio that they utilize through the winter. The pizzas are great and the food came out quickly! The pepperoncini are also delicious. It s not a cheap spot, but not crazy, pastas are all around $30 and pizzas are between $23 $30+. There is no specific lunch menu and they often have specials. Gluten free options are available.

I ve tried three dishes here so far; the fried eggplant pasta, truffle mushroom pasta and the Bolognese . All 10/10. Idk what they put in their sauce but it is soooo good. You can tell everything is fresh including the pasta. I m going to try everything on their menu.

It was our first time in Canada & we wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a delicious meal. We decided on Capocaccia Trattoria based on the images/reviews. I must say we were very impressed. The moment I walked in less than 2 minutes. I was literally greeted 3x by 3 separate employees. This made me feel extremely welcomed. We were seated outside on the patio where it was insulted and heated. Our waiter Roberto was such a pleasure. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He recommended an amazing dish for my husband which he enjoyed. There was nothing left on the plate. The overall experience was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back to visit anytime we are in Canada.

I booked reservations to here for my dear friend s birthday and I specified in the reservation section that this was a birthday. As our party of 3 came in, we were told to wait for our server. We waited for 5 minutes and then we got to our table where we waited for 10 minutes just to hear from our server and to get some water. Our server, Omar, did not even greet us properly. We were all hungry so I asked if we could get started with the Burrata and I pointed to the pizza section to which he replied with attitude stating I was just going to start off with drinks. After 15 minutes, we finally heard back from another server who gave us a salad, however we ordered the pizza. Omar was visibly upset and said that we needed to clarify our order instead of apologizing for his mistake. It took a while for us to get our food. The food was not bad, we would give it 8/10. However the service was absolutely awful and it ruined our friend s birthday experience. Mind you, we were the only persons of colour in that restaurant and we did not feel welcomed, especially watching our waiter treat the other customers so differently and well in comparison to us. I do not recommend coming here if you want to feel welcomed and enjoy the service and experience.

Very disappointing. I am giving this 2 stars because the food is good and the kitchen is doing their job. We are regular customers and left feeling like we wasted our time and money. The table was dirty, some of the food never came. No one asked how the meal was and the water was never refilled. We told the manager and he couldnt care less. There are a lot of restaurants in the area to choose from that appreciate their customers and give value for the money.

Ordered the risotto with bone marrow. I got a plate of risotto with a bone in the middle, no marrow. Dessert and wine recommended by our server was excellent. Great ambience

This place is average food wise, but it is expensive. The food is alright, there s nothing wrong with it, but it s also nothing to write home about. However, the portions are small. So small that after spending a decent amount of money, I ended up going to McDonald s up the street to fill up. Won t be going back, it s a waste of my money.

we went here on a weekday around 5pm, theres a happy hour with various items from 4-6pm. we were welcomed and seated incredibly nicely in this little authentic and charming restaurant near St. Claire. the service from our waiter Gregory was spot on throughout our entire visit. We started with the bruschetta, crusty baguette slices with tomatos, stracciatella cheese, olive oil - perfect delicious start to our dinner. (6$ during happy hour - must try) our main meal consisted of spaghetti pomodorino (very tasty light dish with fresh tasting ingredients), carciofi (crispy artichokes on heavenly creamy tonnato sauce - must try) and pizza piemonte (pizza with mushrooms, cheese and truffle) my personal favourite of the evening, the pizza was thin and crisp, perfectly baked and every bite was a dream. (save the tonnato sauce for dipping the crust ) chef angelino took the time to serve us some of the dishes with his own personal twists which all turned out amazing. we tried all the deserts offered, they all hit the spot while not being too sweet. the tiramisu wasnt too strong in its alcohol taste and the pistachio gelato was creamy and tasty with actual pistachios in it. i believe gelato flavours vary by day. all in all an amazing dining experience. the food was nothing short of amazing and we felt very welcomed and cared for. will be back in the future to try all the other dishes we couldnt try this time.

Nice Italian place. Value for money. Attentive quick service. The menu though is pretty much the usual fare most Italian places have. The seating is a bit cramped so conversation is difficult and you end up speaking over each other.

What a great Italian restaurant. My friend and I dropped in here for supper one night some months ago and lived it. We went there for lunch today and again, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience. Great pasta; great pizza; great wine selection; great Tiramisu! The service was very attentive and very friendly. The restaurant has 2 seating areas, which is great, plus seats at the bar and an outdoor patio in the summer. You certainly wont go wrong eating here.

The restaurant has a lot of charm and feels quite cozy and theres a lovely covered patio. The food was delicious. I loved the spaccatelle al funghi and the chocolate torte was delicious.

I couldnt resist trying the plate of spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and chili pepper, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The food here used to be some of the best in the city. It s certainly priced that way. I got pasta and a Margherita pizza. Honestly, the pizza was just awful. Like so bad, I d prefer Dominos. So bad you couldn t pay me 20 dollars to eat it. And while the pasta was decent it s not like I d come back for it. I ve had pasta from many other places and made by friends that really is much better. The atmosphere of the place is definitely great. Waiters are friendly. Good wine selection. The saving grace was the wine they choose paired excellently with the pasta. So it s not like it was the worst time ever. Again, I ve been coming here for years but it s been a while since I last dined here though.

We call to book a table for 4 people and we ask a for a patio table, in some time we get a confirmation message that the table is waiting for us, once we got to the restaurant stuff told us that the table will be inside, after we asked how about our request they said that all tables outside are occupied and gave us choice to wait or to go. It was our second visit here, first time we was very satisfied with food and service, however this experience was much below our expectations, meat was overcooked, fish was dry and burned from one side. Would not recommend this place after today s experience.

Cosy place for friends gathering. We have ordered pizza n pasta. Hand made pasta was delicious n pizza was equally good. Im not keen to their appetizers. However, their wine selection is good. Parking is not convenient, no side road parking. We go there by taxi.

I came here with a friend on a Saturday, even though it was well into the afternoon nothing was set up inside and they refused to sit us where we wanted to sit(it was empty inside). The food was average didn t take long. However, when we said we didn t want desserts they brought the bill right away without us asking for it. We were planning on sitting for maybe 5 more minutes then asking for the bill anyway. It s VERY rude to bring the check when the customer didn t ask for it yet!!!

Weve been meaning to come for quite a while and took a chance to try out the Summerlicious menu. It was good and dessert was a highlight, especially the tiramisu. The value was just okay for the food. Our experience was somewhat dampened by the service, waiter was not super attentive - misremembering orders, bringing wrong or no cutlery and not filling up the water bottle. The bill came while I was still eating dessert as well, which made me feel rushed (even though the place still had plenty of seating). Overall, the food was good but not sure I would come back given the service.

Celebrated a family event, had their family style set menu B for lunch. Meatballs were a bit salty and firm, but everything else was phenomenal! Portions were good; everyone left full and satisfied. Even my dad commented that the food was good, which is rare. We had water and wine with lunch, both of which I found to be a bit overpriced; but this didn t take away from the overall experience. Decor is also nice and inviting.

I had the Polipo alla griglia, cesare and the tagliatelle al funghi, everything was delicious. I loved that the Caesar was a wedge salad and the mushroom pasta had plenty of shaved truffle.

The food has potential however is just to be expected of a nice cafeteria style dining experience. Both the service and the ambience as much to be desired and could be elevated to another level.

Entered this restaurant with an absolutely amazing host seating us. Our server was a little hit and miss - service wise he was fine, but in terms of interactions - not so much. The food was amazing. I havent had veal chops before, but this place has definitely set the standard for myself. My partner was absolutely in love with her pasta dish (Pappardelle alla bolognese - she still thinks about it). The deep fried calamari was also delicious, although I personally prefer them more deep-fried. Overall, if youre looking for a great experience with Italian cuisine, I say look no further.

Very fresh pasta

Food was okay, decor and atmosphere was lovely and service was very nice. A little pricey considering the cuisine which we thought was going to be great.

I did not like it. Seemed too full of itself but failed to deliver. Will not be back. Other places offer better food better service at this price point.

We waited for about 15 mins for Calamari and the server didnt even take in our order for the main entre. We probably would have had to wait at least another 30 minutes for the main entre. And even the server gave us attitude. Btw the calamari were 25 dollars, and it was so small. I do not recommend it.

One of the best Italian Restaurants in the city, a staple in the neighborhood, gets very busy at night, I recommend a reservation. Personally I prefer going for lunch for a business meal or to enjoy espresso and dessert with a client. Excellent Pizza and Pasta. Enjoyable ambiance and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Food was average but acceptable, service was helpful and unrushed. Be prepared for a heavy wine mark-up.

The drinks and food were absolutely amazing. My husband had the pasta vongole and I had the sea bass. WOW! Both were exceptional good. Our server Sara was attentive and genuinely caring about how everything was as we were there for a birthday. Will definitely be returning

We attended for the first time a month ago and we loved both the food (Seaford board) and the service. They were very friendly and attentive. Well be back again.

First time delivery here and I had to go through the back door and the kitchen was absolutely disgusting Omg! Dirty Garbage bags by the clean napkins and clean towels

There are always a lot of guests in this establishment. It is better to book a table in advance. Although we are lucky every time and they find a place for us in this cozy, tasty and welcoming establishment. I recommend it.
