Bright, light-filled spot with a patio & a casual vibe, serving Italian fare & signature pizzas.
Great place for a bite before the movies. It's the closest dine-in restaurant to the cinema. It can get pretty busy if it's before a show at History (concert venue) down the street as well. They have patio but the interior is quite small, maybe around a dozen tables. Best for parties of 1-4, 1-2 seems more ideal. Very hearty menu. A lot of warm comfort items and pizzas. Had the mussels, then lasagna, with a bottle of Chianti. All was just fine and satiating. Appreciated the extra bread to sop up the marinara sauce! Very friendly and prompt service. Made good timing for our movie. We were in and out in an hour (appetizer and mains) but we were able to put in our orders before the rush of concert go-ers. Would come back for the convenience of location. Maybe next time with a little more time for dessert!
Wonderful experience dining here before a concert! Joann and Cathy were wonderful. I do understand the hustle and bustle of moving people in and out to accommodate the next diners but they could stand to service just a little less. But they were both outstanding and we had a great time, food was delicious too.
If you are looking for family style Italian, this is the place. Food was perfect comfort food, atmosphere was warm and had a great buzz to it and service was welcoming to the point that you felt like they were having you over for dinner at their house. Joanna, our server, was so kind, efficient and sincere. Hard to find these days. We are proud to have this place as a local destination! We will be back !
My partner and I were craving a good Italian place, and came across Casa Di Giorgio while waiting for History to open (around 5pm) I got the Spaghetti bolognese and my partner had the magherita pizza. It was just what I was craving, hot, fresh, and comforting. 5/5
I can’t understand the poor reviews. I have been here maybe 7-10 times over the past few years and enjoyed it each time. The last time we came is pictured it was the beet salad, bruschetta and chicken & mushroom risotto. We have tried a number of dishes but the bruschetta and risotto are among our favourites. It’s reasonably priced for sit down Italian food. They have a varied menu and great wine selection. The patio is nice in the summer and offers a nice view of Queen East. We usually share a main and two apps and find that to be enough for two. The service is fast and friendly. If you are in the mood for a cocktail my suggestion is the Rosa and my partners is the Negroni. They make a great cocktail here and the pours are heavy. Overall, it’s a nice little spot and the food is good.
Wow wow wow! The food here is incredible! It tastes like authentic and delicious with fresh ingredients. And they make a perfect espresso martini for a little after dinner pick up!
I got grilled calamari and shrimps in spicy tomato sauce. Both cooked so good. Both were flavorful and fresh. I haven't tried pasta or pizza.
The food was delicious, our waitress very attentive and sweet. I like my chicken blackened and they made sure it was. We sat outside on the patio before our concert and it was great.
Ive passed this place a hundred times. I ordered my test pizza. Pepperoni, tomatoes, and green olives. This place is old school Canadian Italian pizza. If you know, you know. 100% will return. The staff are fun people too.
Went for Mother s Day, restaurant was not busy. Walked up to the entrance and they were just staring at us like we re the first humans they ve ever seen, they didn t greet us or even ask us if we needed assistance or anything. I had to literally get their attention cause they were too busy sitting around. So we re sat, water was warm, they didn t even give us any bread or anything hospitable. We order and the food takes 30 whole minutes to arrive (mind you they weren t even busy), also the server didn t even come to check up on us not a single time. Then we finish eating and we are ready to pay, so I have to go up to her and ask her to pay there. I m about to pay, she stands right there next to me like a hawk and I didn t tip because the service wasn t worthy of a single dollar. Then she tells my group as we leave next time you should tip for Mother s Day and I say well maybe next time you should have better service. Don t even bother going here, pasta was similar to dominos pasta either ways, and the risotto wasn t good, the rice tasted like it was grainy. Also to the waiter: if you have to ask for a tip then you shouldn t be tipped.
This restaurant provides great quality food and service. This is a very wholesome spot. They accommodate to celiac needs, offering gluten free pasta and pizza.
Inconsistent food and terrible customer service. Called to order the same salad I ordered last week through UberEats. They charged $1 more and Cathy would not honour the lower price. It wasnt a Uber special - just the regular price. So much for ordering directly with the restaurant! I would have caught the price difference but they didnt tell me the cost when I ordered. To make matter worse, when I got home I saw that the salad was much smaller than last week and had fewer toppings. It was put in a cometely different, smaller container. I stopped ordering from them years ago for the same reasons of inconsistency and for arguing with me when.something went wrong. They do not treat their customers well!
We love this stop before a show at the History
Have been there a few times and the food is always delicious. Service is a little slow when they are busy but they are very friendly staff. Vegetarian options: There is pizzas, pastas and salads for vegetarians Kid-friendliness: Children seemed to enjoy their meals
Cosy Italian. Great food!
Joanna is a great server. Made our visit!
Amazing food and service. Also gluten free options for my wife. Win win. Love this place.
Great food and service :)
owner is disrespectful and rude.
A great place to drop in for a quick bite before a show at History. Prompt service and delicious personal pizzas. Recommend.
Pizza was very dry covered it in black olives didn t even roast other two ingredients horrible waste of my money but had the throw whole pizza away so not go over rated for dry pizza
Server Mary was VERY disrespectful and discriminative. I simply came in and asked for a straw for my water not only did she attempt to humiliate me but then declined on giving me a straw. This has ultimately ruined my experience and caused me to not dine in. She then reassured me she is the only waiter available and that I had the option to leave. Just disgusting and unacceptable.
Staff is Awesome One of the best pizza . Try the Garlic Rosemary Wedges.
I LOVE THIS SPOT! Really affordable yet delicious Italian food, the staff is the sweetest, and the atmosphere is perfect for gatherings and dinner parties!
Walking with the family down Queen St after a day at the beach and was invited in by Joanna while looking for spots to eat. What a delight, had the best carbonara ever. It was not even on the menu but they made a special order for me. The service was awesome. Thank you so much.
Had a wonderful dinner here! Exceptionally priced, delicious food and Joanna was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant. Throughly enjoyed our night out and will definitely be back! Great portions and food was delicious! Parking: Limited parking right on site
Lovely little spot across the street and down a bit from The History venue, perfect for before concert bite to eat. Food was good, service was lovely and the price for value was excellent. Food
I didn t order anything here. There s a small taco stand just down the street. As I was looking for a place to eat we came across this restaurant. They had 4 empty picnic tables out front and was not nearly at full capacity. On the west side of the restaurant there were two other picnic tables. Right beside their Uber Pick up window and what I can only assume is a parking lot/ server smoking area. About 3 minutes after sitting at an empty picnic table, a woman came out and berated us for having food at these tables. Condescendingly saying well look Di Giorgio Di Giorgio it s everywhere, you need to go . I can appreciate not sitting at a table that is part of the restaurant but we were 4 feet away from a Mercedes and cigarette butts everywhere. The restaurant was not close to capacity and we were not making a mess. As we were leaving the couple behind us said oh but it s so good here . If this place had the best pizza in the world I would not eat here. Restaurants are a service business. They thrive when the service is excellent. The woman who berated us has no concept of what industry she is in, and shouldn t speak to anyone, even non-customers, the way she does. Suffice to say I wouldn t eat here, nor would I recommend anyone else.
We came across this Italian restaurant with reasonable prices while celebrating my friends birthday. I want to share our wonderful experience - it was fantastic. The staff was super nice, our waitress was amazing (she even brought us a free birthday cake, which was cherry flavored), and the food was tasty and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Go and visit Casa Dia Gordi. You wont regret it! We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to the Casa Dia Gordi staff for the wonderful experience.
What more can I say about Casa Di Giorgio if you are in the Beaches you have to come here and try their one scoop choclat ice cream
Love this place but I was across the street at Harveys. My budget doesnt allow for even medium priced restaurants. The food here is wonderful. Wheelchair accessibility: Its on a main floor
Lived in the same city as this place my full life and after 53 years finally tried this place. Absolutely regret waiting this long to try this place. I had the pizza and it didnt disappoint! One of the best pizzas in the city. And the service was fantastic. I have zero complaints. Try try try try!!!!!!!
Wonderful service l, really cool venue and super friendly owner
Amazing spot, amazing service and food. The staff is extremely welcoming and personable!
Subpar food. Even worse mgmt/ownership.
Wonderful and charming little family resto with home cooked vibes. Large portions and best GBC ever! Super close to the beach and History concert venue. Great food, great service, and Joanna is the nicest server.
Among the worst pizzas that Ive had in Toronto. I cant even describe what was wrong with it because everything was wrong with it. Except for the so-called truffle oil, which had obviously gone off. And when we asked for the fried calamari, the guy said that they only had the grilled, so they had calamari... That tells you one thing: Its out of the freezer.
Was seeing a show across the street and arrived so late we had to cancel a reservation further away, found this place and they sqeezed us in by opening up a picnic table. Food was wonderful. Our server Catriona was great. We will be back. Order the grilled Calamari, best weve had in years.
a secret gem of the beaches!!! the vibes are astounding with cute fairy lights on the patio. the drink selection is great with fair prices you won t find i elsewhere in the beaches. my new fav date spot. we had the cutest scottish waitress but we didn t get her name :)
Must visit if you are in the queen street area pizza is amazing
Not going back again. - Pizza tasted like a frozen-pizza, you can tell they used the lowest grade sausages. Not worth 20 bucks. - Shrimp fettuchini had no flavour, drenched in butter sauce. It is actually difficult to make bad tasting food when you used tons of butter. Again not worth your $26+. - Our server (middle aged lady) was rude, she brought wrong orders and insisted that we were wrong instead. - She did not give us any space when we were making the payment. She stood very close to me and watched over the machine.
Italians would weep at the taste of the Pasta & Pizza served here Outside patio is nice for a drink though Food : 1/5
Been here quite a few times over the last 20+ years. The food is good, the servers are friendly, and the vibe is relaxed and low key. Good value for your money.
Great food. Eat Ike at home.
Great place . Loved it . We will be back.
First time ordering their large Calabrese pizza and it was absolutely delicious.
Really liked the placed, good food, nice and attentive waitress, was good to sit on the patio. Tried the gnocchi and the lasagna. Good choice of coctails too. All together i am happy with the service, thank you for the nice time.
Extremely disappointed. If I wanted to throw some ground beef in a pan with some pureed tomatoes I could have done that myself. The meatballs were tough and dry and under seasoned. The garlic bread didnt taste like any garlic and the cheese was barely melted on top. So lazy. The bolognese was so bland. For 18 dollars, to serve what tastes like unsalted, canned tomato puree with ground beef ... You should be ashamed of yourselves calling yourself an Italian restaurant. The only saving grace was that the pasta was cooked well and the gnocchi was at least seasoned correctly and actually tasted like something, despite being a bit gummy. 2 stars. Barely.
I ordered some food through the Ritual app a few weeks ago. When I went to pick up, I waited for 25 more minutes because they did not process the order. The young man working the takeout counter did not apologize and told me not to use the Ritual app as it doesnt always work. Never heard that from the dozens of other places weve used that app. Fast forward to today. We ordered on Uber Eats and they did not give the driver all our items. We were missing a pizza and a salad. When we phoned we told them that we live in the neighborhood and have been customers for over a decade. The woman said she was sorry and that she couldnt do anything but that we could get a refund on the app and reorder. We said that was not acceptable service and that they have lost a long time customer. She didnt seem to care and just said sorry with no emotion. We have recommended this place for years and will longer go there or recommend it. Disgraceful that they really dont care about their customers especially long time ones. We never do reviews but we had to tell this story. Maybe they will start to care if more people speak out.
The food is very bad!!
The food is really very bad, the pizza feels like frozen, it doesnt feel like it and the drinks are totally bad. The only good thing was the waiter and the beer. but I wouldnt go back.
Service was nice. However, drinks and food Were pretty bad. We ordered pizzas which were not so different from the frozen ones you get at the supermarket.
I ordered take out from here a while back and thought it would be a great place to go dine. I ordered the pasta Giorgio, not impressed at all I can make a better sauce at home, the ingredients tasted like they were just tossed in-no flavour And Watery. I don t like leaving bad reviews unless I m very disappointed. I expected more, the pizza my company had looked better they seemed to like it. On a positive note The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice.
Was dining alone while waiting for my daughter who was attending a concert nearby.. food was excellent and staff was incredibly friendly... great prices too.. wonderful experience.
Worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant in Toronto! When my friend and I arrived, the attendant ignored us and told us to sit at a random table. When it was time to pay, the waitress claimed she hadnt brought us the bill and chose her own tip. I will never go back to this place again!
This is the best Italian restaurant I ve been to so far. It is soooo good. Do yourselves a favor and try the lasagna, it s huge and so good. Food tastes homemade and the atmosphere is so cozy and nice. Definitely trying every single thing in the menu!
food was nothing special and servings were todler sized
Awesome place! The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. Just a suggestion, I think the atmosphere would benefit from different music. Something more like Italian jazz or some other kind of instrumental music.
Great food, atmosphere and a true family business that should be experienced by all!
A family favourite - food and service are always fabulous.
Food was great me and my wife enjoyed veal parmesan a few drinks
Food is so bland. Literally taste like water and pasta
Place is solid ! Highly recommend
This place serves up a great pizza pie! Amazing atmosphere! It feels like you ve been welcome into an Italian home. The food is incredible. I recommend getting a piece of cake for desert to complete the perfect meal! A candle lit masterpiece
Great local spot quality price for take out. Pasta and pizza is good. Would recommend for delivert and take out
Good food. Owner went to the liquor store to fill my drink order.
Food was ok. My gnocchi felt undercooked. The staff was rude and the waitress added her own tip to the bill. As a customer I choose the tip. The service wasnt worth tipping to be honest.
This is our go to Italian in our neighborhood. Always good for a full on meal and great for take out.
The food proportion was excellent and came in a timely manner. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Ill definitely be going back.
I was surprised by this restaurant went for a birthday dinner it felt like eating at a home-cooked restaurant our server seem like it was our mother serving us and the dinner special met and surpassed all expectations I was there when it was colder out so the patio wasnt open and there was limited seating. Seats are very close together. I would definitely go back
The lasagna was really delicious- it has pureed butternut squash as a layer making it really creamy.
Amazing service from Kathy. They were shutting down and she let us come in anyway and was so nice! She is incredible!
Arancini balls, chicken parm, ravioli, Alfredo, were all top notch. A great dinner before the concert. Excellent service and Shirley Temples for the kids!
I noticed that they use the same bottled tomato sauce or ready made for pizza ,pasta and the marinara sauce for the fried calamari
Great food!
What happened to this place? Havent been for 3-4 years and grabbed a couple pies and they were barely edible. Even trash Pizza Nova is better. Paid premium pizza prices and the ingredients were bottom of the barrel. Hope things turn back around here
$17 for barely enough calamari to feed a fetus. Called in and they were no help.
Rude staff, phone etiquette is not rocket science.
Came here before a concert at History and its a great place to grab a quick meal. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, service was quick and the food was good.
First time ordering on Uber eats. No words neccesary. The food speaks for itself! Will be ordering again. Thanks for such a delicious meal!
Ted is the man! Inquired about catering lunch as they open at 4pm and he was so accommodating. We ordered some pizza, pasta and the sausage and peppers and it was delicious! Recommend this place!
Always great, service and food are fantastic.
Great food!!!
Always a great meal and service. Excellent value!
Always a great meal at the Casa ..
Although it appears to be an Italian restaurant, it does not meet Italian-quality food. We ordered The veal Parmigiano and verano pizza. To keep it short, the veal Parmigiano is not worth $27. Youll get less pasta than sauce. The sauce tastes like supermarket canned pasta sauce, i.e. Primo Thick and Zest sauce, which is $3 a can. The Verano pizza tasted as good as Pizza Pizza. This coupled with suspect service left us wanting. One of the kitchen workers had a consistent cough (every 3-5 minutes). We notified the server, who denied the obvious coughing noise happening in the kitchen. Suspect service and weak sauce meets suspect Italian. Save your money and cross the street to Harvey, or Pizza Nova.
My fav
ordered through uber eats and received the entirely wrong dish. i understand if the item i ordered was out of stock but they never contacted me to ask about a substitution and i got a dish i never wanted and didnt eat.
This has been our favourite restaurant in many years. You can always count on them for fast, courteous service. The food is never a disappointment. Bravo as always!
If your out of half your menu... you should probably close for the night. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken... INEDIBLE! Straight out of the fridge at no frills!
we sat outside and enjoyed our dinner on a warm summer night with a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. It doesnt get any better than this I highly recommend the shrimp fettuccine.
Great find! Thanks to Google. Great food and relaxing outdoor seating. Beautiful weather helped. Kids loved the alfredo. My eggplant parmigiana was fantastic! Reasonably priced. Would recommend. Parking: Park in rear of building for free
We dined here with my elderly in-laws and 2 young kids (one kid is a baby). Upon making reservations we were asked if we wanted to sit indoors or out, we said indoors thinking it would be air conditioned because why would you ask otherwise? When we arrived we realized it was hotter inside so asked to be seated on the patio. The waitress and hostess/manager directed us to the side drenched in sun (it was a high of 30 degrees) so we asked to be seated in the shade and they basically said no. Said they cant combine tables and that our party of 4 adults, a kid and lap baby wouldnt fit around their round table. So we said fine and sat in the sun. The waitress was about average in her service although I did have to ask for a high chair twice but the hostess/manager didnt crack a smile once or respond to my hello and showed no interest in accommodating our party of seniors and kids. Soon after, a family of 5 arrived and was seated around the round table in the shade. The same table that we as 4 adults, a kid and lap baby were refused. As for the food, it was average. We chose to eat here because they advertised whole wheat crust and cauliflower crust...both of which they didnt have. When the bill came we noticed about a 20% gratuity added which the waitress said they add to parties of greater than 5. Im sorry we were 4 adults and ordered food for 4 adults. My kid ate the complimentary bread and the baby ate nothing obviously. Overall not a great experience, will not return or recommend.
What a great place to discover with great staff. Service and food was perfect. The woman was super nice with us real-proper Italian food
This is my favorite Italian restaurant. Love the pizza and my favoy pasta dishes... Vegetarian options: Penne Arabiata pasta to die for..
It was pretty hot, no AC. The food was really good. We had a minor miscommunication with the waitress and she brought us a margarita pizza instead of an actual margarita. Pretty good place, it really is the only good sit down restaurant in that section. Wheelchair accessibility: No way you can get a wheel chair in there.
Love this place. Food is simple and clean tasting. Especially the red sauces. Drinks are reasonably priced. Homey and not too large patio to people watch. Right across from the theater so perfect for a light dinner before a show.
It used to be good. Now..expensive and no flavour. Mussels not well cooked. No tabasco...expensive. ill never be back
Mushy pasta should be a crime at an Italian restaurant. Very sparse with pizza toppings. Overwhelmingly hot inside the restaurant. Dirty plateware. Only positive comment was taste and portion of the salad. Wouldnt return or recommend.
We get the takeout pizza special all the time. Cheap and good.
So angry! Ordered the mushroom gnocchi via Uber. I asked to ensure there were mushrooms because my last order had none! Tried again with note and they charged me $10 extra for mushrooms that should have been included in the plate in first place! Never again! The mushrooms provided should have been in the dish anyways with out the extra charge!!! What a rip off!
Terrible experience, terrible place, the waiter doesnt look at you at all and keeps chatting impatiently.
Ordered for delivery. A little over cooked, pretty skimpy on toppings. Very mediocre. Will try someplace else next time.
Great family run Italian joint right across from the cinema. Pizza, gnocchi and calimari was delicious.
Super quick service, we stopped by from out of town, got served quickly; and attended our concert! Will be back again!
Feels like home. Portions are large. Food is tasty. Food
An absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant! Delicious Mushroom Pappardell (its not on the menu in house but they will still make it for you)beautiful bread basket with balsamic & olive oil & butter. FABULOUS shrimp scampi & toast! Smells heavenly when you enter the door! Silvana was our server & shes absolutely delightful. Small restaurant so not always lots of seating, but we got lucky & got the booth!
Taste is awful everything taste frozen
Just stopped for a bite while walking around. Excellent food and just a nice cozy place.
Love at first try! We had a really good time, me personally try the Linguini a la Pescatore, best linguini I ever try, my mother had the Salmon and my husband the spaghetti, the Marinara sauce was perfect best comments from their food. The Service was on point by Katerina (apologies if was uncorrectly written). My friend Viviane told us about this place, a real Gem in Queen St. Have to visit again! Dietary restrictions: I love the fact that they actually offer gluten free options.
I had to take a picture of this because I couldnt believe this is what a $15 caprese salad looks like. I honestly laughed. Our pasta was fine but this salad was a ridiculous rip-off.
Always amazing.
The food is always delicious and delightful with very generous portions. And the people there are equally warm and delightful. A real treasure in the neighbourhood. Also, their home delivery is FAST and always hot - call and order directly from the restaurant.
I love this restaurant! The food is incredible, the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is cozy! Ive tried several of their dishes and theyre all fantastic but I think the lasagna is my favorite! Definitely a must visit if youre a foodie who loves authentic Italian! Parking: There are a few spots to park for free at the back of the restaurant otherwise youll have to use street parking.
I do not suggest the beef Ravioli. It had a weird smell and I became sick with vomiting and diarrhea after eating a few bites . I had to throw most of the food away . My partner had the lasagna and it wasn t good. First and last time trying this place.
Wow! We had a GREAT meal tonight with our friends. Super friendly service, and delicious, FRESH meals for our entire table! If you are looking for comfort food, generous portions, and attentive service check out Casa Di Giorgio! **chefs kiss**
Yummy food, friendliest server and nice vibe with reasonable pricing. Will definitely return - what a hidden gem. Food
Whatever is in the sauce Lawd have mercy it is so good. I didnt even notice my friend telling me an important story this pizza was so good. I think he needs an organ. Anyways hes fine but I crave more pizza.
Incredible team and delicious food! Thank you ordered up something tasty last night bc I realized I didn t have any food at home on my way home from work, they were nearing closing time but still took my order. The gentleman I spoke with was really nice even though I m sure it was an inconvenience. I ve ordered a couple times in the past and have never been let down! Highly recommend this restaurant :)
Ordered last week from Uber, everything except pasta was good ! Pasta was not tasty enough. I put more tomato sauce and cheese. Hope another pasta they have is more flavorful.
Order was super late AND missing items.
Great pizza. Great service.
Amazing people here with great food been going here for over 10 years
First thing first amazing and friendly stuff!! Also the food was perfect, can t describe how delicious pizza is!! Highly recommended:)
Never disappointed by this family restaurant. Food is kid friendly. Its and not fine dining but dishes are tasty combined with good service.
Absolutely divine. If youre looking for delicious Italian, head here and order just about anything on the menu. You wont be disappointed.
Best Italian food in Leslieville and Beaches fantastic portions excellent value
Stumbled across this place when looking for somewhere to eat before a concert at History. Wow! What a treat! Food and staff were outstanding! Ill definitely be back!!
Forgot to take pictures but we had the bruschetta, muscles, salad and pizza. Everything was fantastic and despite how busy they were everything came out quickly and the staff was very pleasant.
I truly hate leaving poor reviews, but my experience last night left me feeling frustrated and unwanted as a customer. That being said, I would love to start off and say that the food was delicious! Would 100% recommend the pasta and salads here. The service on the other hand was wildly confusing. Our original greeter was lovely and grabbed us a seat as soon as she could. After that, I had no idea who our server was. We had to keep flagging down whoever we could just to get water. After 30 minutes of waiting, we flagged down someone to order our food. Here s the thing: I think our order didn t get put into the system. And that s okay, mistakes happen. But be transparent about it. After 45 minutes, we asked the woman who helped us how long it would be, and she just kept blaming the kitchen for how long it was taking. Tables all around us who had sat down after us, were getting their food, eating, and leaving before we received anything. We sat down at 6pm, ordered at 6:30, and got our food handed to us at 7:20. Just ridiculous. The final straw was getting visibly upset at us for asking to split the bills without telling her ahead of time. We would have loved to tell her, had we known she was our server and if we had had some of her attention during our visit.
My favourite Italian restaurant! Staff is so friendly and the food is amazing!
Nice patio, staff was fantastic, and the food was great. Whats not to like? Going to have to try their pizza next time, had pasta.
Don t let the curb appeal of this restaurant deter you. Nice place with good food. The fried calamari was really nice, not the best I have had, but my daughter, who does not like seafood, also had some. The thin crust pizza, was very tasty. We enjoyed a white pizza with mushrooms, which my mushroom loving wife really enjoyed. The meat pizza was a great mix of a little spice with a tasty sauce. All in all, as an Italian a nice place for a good meal before the concert.
The pizza was fantastic! Very fair prices and delicious food! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the area. We stopped in before a show just down the road and it was totally worth it!
On a whim my fiancé and I came here for a late dinner , we normally go by reviews and took a chance it being at low point for us. I am surprised the ratings are not higher. The pizzas here are fantastic, fresh salads, very professional service. Food is very good. I hope they do come out with a dessert menu and someone who knows how to make a good cappuccino, their espresso is on pint though. Took my parents here, my Italian dad was very impressed.
Amazing food and they re very friendly.
When it comes to pizza, especially at an Italian restaurant, it shouldnt be a hit-and-miss affair. I was disappointed at the Napolitana pizza (mozzarella cheese, black olives, anchovies, capers, garlic ) that I had at Casa Di Giorgio. The crust tasted all right, not as light as I expected, but that might be their style, but seriously tasted like store bought dough. The topping was definitely heavy handed: it mustve had half a small jar of capers (as per picture), in addition to an excessive amount of olives and some anchovies. Too salty and dry, unfortunately. My companions had the risotto (good), and veal parmigiana (they said it was good, lacked a bit of salt, which is fine, and it looked like the spaghetti had been broken up - why? Lol ). Staff was great and service was good too.
My girlfriend and I stopped in here, randomly, while we were in the area for a concert. It was absolutely amazing. Reminded me of nonnas kitchen. The food (we had the lasagna) was incredible. Authentic italian food. Highly recommend it to any and all food lovers.
I put a lot of thought to whether I should post this or not. I dont want to accuse a restaurant of something they may not be responsible for. However, after ruling out all other possibilities, Im positive I got food poisoning from my meal here. Ordered the daily special - Mushroom and chicken risotto - exactly 6 hours later I was projectile vomiting and proceeded to do so off and on for the next 8 hours. Over the last 3 days, all the symptoms of food poisoning have been present. Nobody else in my dinner party was sick.
Love this place!! Have been going for many years. Staff is wonderful. Food is great
Went for the first time straight from woodbine beach it was the worst possible service nothing provided with the food very flavourless food i would not suggest to go here . They gave us the wrong order for the pizza and just took 50% of it and without informing charged us 20% gratuity because they have their food vans in some concert how is a person supposed to know that and why should we pay it at the dine in even when the bill is below 100$
Horrible place!! When we first entered the host was rude to us and practically told us to leave the restaurant and wait outside for a table. After a while when we sat down and ordered, they took 15 mins to give us water and the food took like 45mins plus. When the food came, they gave me the wrong order and did not even provide any type of compensation for the wrong order, charged us full. Their food was very average, I d rather go to McDonald s. At the end when we asked the server to split the bill individually, she refused and said that our machine crashes if we do individual bills. The server added the 25% gratuity herself without informing us and when we asked they said some festival was going on in the neighbourhood and she was SO RUDE with us and said that s how we do it. At least the restaurant can inform the customers if there will be any over charges. Overall, an awful experience with mediocre at best food and very horrible staff.
Oh I wish I lived close by so I could visit this place every week.
Great little place to visit good food , nice people
I love their chicken and mushroom risotto!
Excellent food and service!!
Parking: Parking at the rear of the restaurant
The pizza was amazing and the service was superb. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
I wouldnt recommend this place for Italian cuisine. The food is sub-par especially when the price is up there. It taste like $8 pasta and $8 pizza but they charge like $18 per item. Service is good and their outdoor dinning is nice and theres parking and the streetcar is near by. They do offer takeout and delivery Parking: Theres parking in the back and take out
Great pizza and a nice patio to enjoy a good meal before seeing a show.
Prices are a little too high for the portions/quality of food for this restaurant.
Aperol Spritz was good, Manicotti wasn t the best. Sat on the patio, and saw a mouse running along the deck as I was paying. Not sure if it came from the kitchen or outside. Told the server. I won t be back, sadly. A bit gross
Such a great place, food is amazing and the service is awesome. A favourite place to meet friends for a great meal.
Katalina made my husband and I feel right at home. Lovely little place with a nice patio. The food was amazing and good sized portions. I really felt like it was an experience, she was incredible. We will definitely come back soon -I forgot to mention she let us in early even though they werent open for another 15 minutes. Because it was a really hot day and we were looking thirsty so sweet.
My family and I found this hidden Italian gem at Queen/Woodbine area across from the old race track.. Started off with Bruchetta and Fried Calamari appetizers. Ordered Chicken Parm, Veal Parm, Eggplant Parm and a Pizza for dinner. Bit of a wait but it was worth it. Food was fresh, portions were good size. House tomato sauce was tasty. Staff was very friendly and polite. I would like to see a little more pasta with the meal and some AC would go a long way Desert menu choices were limited but appealing. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be visiting again.
Pizza delicious. So many options Staff is great. We will be back soon
Love the staff.
Very homey, great service, amazing food and an overall pleasant time had before our concert at History!
Burnt pizza
This was my first time going to this restaurant. Its a small location and at least there is parking in the back. I initially tried calling, but there is a taped message that says they do not take reservations on a Friday or Saturday, or any night that has a concert going on across the street. No one even answered the phone. When we were seated, we were told to only sit at the tables for two because it was a Saturday night and I suppose they were expecting a crowd. Needless to say that the tables inside were still empty when we left, so we could have been seated at a table for 4 where there was more room. The fried calamari were actually quite good, but I did not enjoy my lasagna. It was very doughy and I couldnt taste the ingredients, other than cheese and sauce. I was expecting better for an Italian restaurant and the service was a bit slow. Unfortunately I wont be coming back here.
Cozy location for chilling before a show. Pizza is probably the best thing on the menu
Came before a show. Great food! Tiramisu is amazing!
Local favorite for Italian staples. Neither fussy nor pretentious, a reliable neighborhood joint for pasta and pizza.
An incredible Italian meal! Impeccable value for money and nothing to say about the service. They were all kind and courteous. Note also on the speed of the service, we even thought we would stay a little longer but.... it was quick, delicious and friendly. To try again!
Loved this place!! A group of 4 went right before a concert at History across the street. We ordered two pizzas, a pasta and a salad. I couldn t believe how fresh everything was (especially the pizza) and the portions were plenty. Me and my fiancé spent $70 with tip, for pizza, pasta and drinks, which is surprisingly cheap for Toronto. The service was superb and atmosphere was rustic Italian. Loved every bit of it 10/10!
The pizza was good. The service was lovely. But the bread was stale .. the calamari was cold .... and I saw a literal cockroach on the glass inches above our table. Its an old building, I understand that things can come up and its not a run down place by any means but I work in inner city health care. I know a roach when I see one. Anyways, it definitely ruined our meal and both my date and I ended the night right after.. Disappointing. I live across the street and had been recommending it to so many people in the area before actually going in myself..
Great food and service.
The two pizzas we ordered were both over cooked and underwhelming. The worst part was the chicken and mushroom risotto. The rice was swimming in broth and the chicken was rubbery. I felt like we were eating at east side Mario s without the cheap price. The only saving grace was our server she was lovely.
Very large and tasty portions. The service was fast and friendly. The covered patio is great so you can feel comfortable rain or shine.
Average Italian restaurant. Slow service
A+ food and service! Very friendly staff and delicious food. Reasonably priced as well. We will definitely be back!
Classic Italian food, warm, family ambience. Good value.
Love the traditional Italian recipes, specially the pizza.
Weve gotten food here twice and both times have been wonderful. We tried the papardelle, shrimp fettuccini, and pizza. Looking forward to the next time already.
i have only tried their pizza and its better than anything else around.
Excellent customer service and yummy Italian food
We had a large group of people, there 2as a Fair wait, but once we all gave our orders things got rolling, the food came fast and was very good according to most of the crowd service was fast and orderly!!
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Toronto! The portions are large and the food is always rich and sumptuous!
Recently tried for the first time. Ordered vegetarian dishes. Gnocchi Gorgonzola was lovely very rich and dramatic taste. Can only eat a small portion. Definitely recommend. Garlic bread, though simple, was very delicious (they use a nice bread for it). But the Linguini Primavera was a complete waste, hence the 3 star rating. It was SO plain had very little flavour, no zest. Just plain tasting pasta. I may try this place again and try different dishes.
Simple and straightforward and delicious. Spaghetti Bolognese was so good. So was the Fettuccine Alfredo great food!
Cozy vibe, the pasta is so good (it satisfied my craving so well yummy ) and the service is first class
Not only is the food delicious, but I happened to lose a very sentimental ring when it came off my finger while I was removing my jacket. They called the next day to say that they had found it. I was extremely relieved and happy that I got it back. Thanks to the honest people who work here.
Always great food and atmosphere.
super disappointing. $50 dollar skipthedishes order gets you this and utterly flavourless bruchetta. Pastas taste as bad as they look. shame
Excellent food and service.
Amazing food, and very good service. Would highly recommend!!
Love this place. Consistency with all menu items Excellent comfort food The Rustica salad got my son eating arugula and loving it!
