502 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto, ON M5N 1A5, Canada
Family-owned eatery with wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta & salads, plus wines by the glass & a patio.
I've become a regular at Ferraro for the past few months. I go for the Pizza Sofia, which is deliciously made within the wood stove (I think it's heated with charcoal). I've also had the wood stove made Tradizionale calzone which is light and fluffy - a testament to the good ingredients. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for these kinds of dishes.
I hast past the restaurant during my walks, and finally decided to get in for dinner, ordered Romantini pizza with dried tomatoes, spinach and lots of cheese for toppings, was a tasty good choice. The staff were attentive and the food was a real Italian hand made pizza. I recommend it.
Wow!!! What can I say? This place is incredible every single time I come, and it is often. Every dish I order is mouth watering, DELICIOUS and every plate that passes by, you watch and want to try. It's a real family fun atmosphere, the staff are kind, attentive and they help each other out. Joe is the world's greatest pizza maker. Come check him out!
I loved it all. Pizza was better than the ones I had in Rome and Florence. Interior made me feel like I was in one of the restaurants in Italy. People work here were also very kind and hospitable.
Best wood fired pizza in Toronto! Nice atmosphere with a busy buzz to it. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
We had dinner here. The food was ok, but pretty much disappointed from the 4.5 star rating that we were expecting. I ordered a grill salmon, it was boiled then grilled after so it has no favor at all. The steak was too raw, we ordered medium rare but it was like rare.
Good friendly casual service. One I was craving calamari but they didn't have it in the menu. Pizza was good though I did find the carpaccio just ok. Cute little place.
Just ordered take out and got Pizza Dan and carpaccio for dinner. It was ok, very meat heavy...and the pepperoni was spicy, so I picked that off and gave it to my partner who loves spice♡ The app was ok I didn't like the oil over it...meat was bit bland...and had cheese sprinkled on it. It was a so so meal for me this time round. We usually get the Pizza Sofia so think we'll stick to that choice as our go to...
Yall need to specify the size of your pizzas on order sites.
Large portions !!
Still the best pizza in Toronto
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free available Food
Been going here since I was a preteen and it s never changed, always amazing, friendly, fast, quality. Super accommodating with substitutions. Great place for any age, solo, date, or family!
Only details to share are that the food is simply terrible. Bottled salad dressings, undercooked pasta and not a garnish in sight! Kind of like eating in a school cafeteria. Felt rushed from the minute we sat down (@715pm) as they close at 830!? Maybe with kids for pizza.... MAYBE but given the plethora of choices on that front this place would be right at the bottom of any list of mine. Only redeeming quality is the service which while rushed, was very good.
Best Pizza, Thank you!
Worst restaurant I have ever been to. The tomato sauce was tasteless, my penne had strands of spaghetti in it, the veal Parm was dry and hardly breaded . The pizza was very average with the toppings just thrown on in a heap. The worst ! Oh, almost forgot, 12 screaming kids in the back room didnt help.
The wood oven baked Pizza Dan from Ferraro 502 is one of the best, ( and is the best IMO), quality and Pizza Value that you will find in Mid Town Toronto. The crust is thin and crispy, the meat and cheese ingredients are full quality and their tangy fresh sauce is simply the best. $20 plus tax, (2.60) and they didnt charge me for extra cheese and a small container of their delicious pizza sauce. Great Pizza at a bargain price, always has been for the over 30 years that I have been a very satisfied customer of this restaurant . Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is on ground floor. I have used a knee-scooter at Ferraro with no problem.
Pizza is definitely good. First time (4-6years ago): sat down, food was great Second time (2years ago): take out - the bruschetta was on burger buns. And tasted terrible. Everything was packaged nicely at least. Third time (2024): Italian wedding soup with no meatballs, orzo and barley. I took the chicken Parmesan sandwich home, the chicken was pink in the middle.
2024 update: we came here for for dinner. Ordered salad pizza and pasta and meat sauce. We again were rushed. We arrived at 655 and had paid the bill by 722. The waitress came by literally every 3 or 4 minutes asking if we were ok. I love servers that check in but this was excessive. Probably ten times in half an hour. Pizza was under done and greasy. Im not sure if its new management or a new chef or what but this place is not what it used to be. Let me enjoy my food and experience! A few times come by but that is too much. They were already setting the table and I hadnt even put my jacket on. If it was before closing sure I understand, but this wasnt the case. I hate leaving a bad review for this place because my wife and I love it so much. We are here all the time and the food is ample and delicious with amazing owners and managers. Unfortunately our visit this evening was not great due to our waitress. While she was friendly, she rushed everything like the place was on fire. We sat down, and she gave us menus and dirty cutlery. Fair it was replaced. Maybe two minutes later she asked if we were ready to order. We said yes, salad and ravioli and a calzone. Then nothing. Drinks came with the salad and then all the food came at once for everyone in the joint. She was in such a rush the plate was basically dropped on the table. Never saw her after. The food was ok. Ravi was so hot it had to be microwaved. Calzone had no flavour and was sort of warm. I want this place to get back to its prime! Also the bread was two pieces of small bits. Hardly enough to use oil. We will try one more time. Also a small salad, 2.cokes and a calzone for 65 bucks?!
My husband and I live in the area. Couple of days prior we walked by the restaurant and in looked very cozy and the smell outside was amazing. We decided to try it. Very disappointed! Firstly, the beer I ordered (in a can) exploded on me when I opened it. We ordered the mussels in tomato sauce to start, a very generous portion and smelled amazing, but to our great surprise it tasted like nothing and water. No salt no garlic nothing. After that I got the gnocchi in rose sauce (as our server called it the pink one ) the gnocchi was store bought, heavy and undercooked. My husband got seafood pizza, all the seafood tasted defrosted and bland. This place has so much potential, only if their chef would taste and care about the food he s putting out.
Absolutely love this restaurant the food is excellent
The dish I ordered was terrible (penne salmon). It tasted raw amd not much flavour. The server took forever to show up to take my order.
Fantastic food, friendly staff! Vegetarian options: Good veggie options
Outstanding. Everything Italian. Great service. I mean great service! Reasonable prices. Desserts are gigantic. Very popular. Its not like people havent discovered this place.
The most chill, friendly and amazing service with the best classic Italian food!
Great food at an affordable price. One of the few places in all of Toronto that didnt seem to raise there prices due to covid/inflation. Service is exceptional. I recommend asking for the spicy oil with your bread.
Is butter is good
Food awesome! Staff was awesome!
Why do they serve food 2 minutes after ordering? At least pretend like the food is cooked fresh and not sitting and waiting to be warmed up. Service is good
You treat your staff horribly! Your Pasta is overcooked which is an Italian sin. I will not recommend you. Horrible!
Very good food. Reliable. Value for money. Friendly staff. Wood burning oven for great, fresh pizzas fast. Try the panzerotti too!
Friendly, good food, lots of great staff coming by to help.
I had my 17th birthday at this restaurant and prior to the reservation I was anxious on how it would go. The moment I came, the staff were setting up the heaters that I asked for, the tables were clean, and there was just about no other customers. From the beginning to the end, the service was absolutely perfect. I loved how the waitress brought cookies in the middle of the dinner as well as bubble gum at the end, it was a wonderful surprise! The pizza was way bigger than I thought and very tasty and the ice cream was pitch perfect. Thank you Ferraro for making my birthday a memorable experience, especially during such a challenging time period.
Locals know . This place is the cats pj s
Consistently excellent. Never disappoints Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly
Great food & prices also good
The food was ok quality in terms of ingredients, it is just they have no salt what so ever, so everything tasted a little unusual
Great food. Very reasonably priced. Hot peppers are delicious. Very family friendly Food : 5/5
Food was terrible. Terrible!!! Pure water, no sauce, no seafood. 5 mussels and that s it. Noodles from the dollar store.
I heard so much and I had high expectations i guess
Excellent service, huge menu, big portions. Everything was delicious.
My wife and I decided to check this place out since we live in the area. I m from nyc and she s a local. We came here during the end of summer. My wife ordered personal pizza pie and I ordered the mussel pasta dish. We were seated outside with another group but they were about to leave. No one checked on maybe once when the server bought us the food. The pizza was pretty average in a trending area and the pasta dish was pedestrian. Keep in mind I m from nyc dined from Carroll gardens bk, tribeca nyc , Hell s Kitchen and etc. This is average.
Great food. Big portions. Would come back.
Great taste
Good value for the money.
Great food, excellent service, great value!
Pizza is great because the dough is light and crispy where it needs to be. But I took a star off for service because its slow and theyre not too attentive with the tables.
Really underwhelming food. We ordered two pasta dishes. Both of which tasted like the same sauce, although our descriptions were different. The seafood was bland and tasted like it wasn t cooked in the sauce. Tastes like a big batch of pasta/sauce used for multiple dishes bland and I can make better at home. Authentic?? No veggies were even in the sauce to add flavour. Tasted like jar tomato sauce. Extremely disappointing.. we didn t even eat a quarter of the serving. A very generous portion of pasta that could feed a family of 4 but barely any protein
A great place to go for a delicious and quick meal. Everything Ive ever tried from the menu has been very enjoyable. They have a great outdoor patio and the service is friendly and efficient.
I only ever order the pizza so I can not speak on the rest of the food but if you are looking for a wood fired pizza you must try this place, it is a hidden gem.
My favourite resteraunt in the city. Was there on opening day many moons ago and still go to this day and am reconized. I love the staff, atmosphere, and simple, delicious menu.
Tried this place a few times as it is not far for us. Bottom line is that it has very underwhelming food, lacking flavour and quality. Very disappointing!
Average food. Meh.
Great food, great service! It will be a regular place for me.
Big size, service was nice, but the bread, pizza & pasta taste was kinda plain. It felt like it was missing flavours to it.
The food was fantastic. The service was great too. They were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back!
Vegetarian options: Lots of pizzas and pasta for the non-meat eaters. Kid-friendliness: Friday night and there were tons of kids. Portions just their size
Nice, friendly and delicious neighbourhood pizza place, italian style pizzas are great, as well soups and deserts. I haven t tried but pastas also look delicious. Kid-friendliness: We go here with our 9 year old but younger kids can dine as well.
Great Pizza
Nice italian restoran with wood oven
Always received good service here every time I went. A perfect family dinner place.
The place is good and has been around for a while. We ordered some pasta dishes and felt disappointed. They do a lot of pizzas for customers, so I assume thats what its good for.
Best Family Italian Restaurant in northern part of Toronto !
This was a very nice meal. The pizza and desserts were great. They do a good job.
The best pizza in Toronto, you should eat here often.
Absolutely love this restaurant the food is excellent
Very happy with my first experience here. Staff were quick and efficient with my pick up order. Food was good, prices fair. I enjoyed the pizza the most. Great crispy thin crust and excellent balance between the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Saw a sign for some new plant based offerings, so excited to come back to try those in the future!
Dropped by here the other day. Grabbed a basic pizza with sauce and the Violife plant based cheese and I have to say its the best plant based pizza Ive had. Crust is nice and thin with just the right balance between crisp and chewy and the sauce is great. I topped it off with some nice spicy oil.
Best wood-fired pizza in Toronto
Not bad! I went here recently when patio services resumed. Beware that you should reserve for a table beforehand! It was also pretty busy, but the staff were so friendly and did a great job managing considering the amount of people at any given time. I ordered their Stracciatella Soup with Jonathans and Jesses Pasta Special and a bottle of wine. All I can say was that it was absolute bliss, especially considering the long wait we all had to endure before finally sitting down again for some patio dining with friends and family.
Delicious pizza! They do a crisp thin crust, and are not stingy with toppings. I highly recommend.
Awesome food, Great service. Couldn t ask for more.
Good food Good service Good Prices
Great authentic pizza and friendly service, always looking forward to a visit.
I have been to Ferraros MANY MANY times. Always a great atmosphere, friendly people, GREAT food but most of all VERY accommodating. I needed a last minute reservation and Joe was VERY helpful to fulfill my needs. Looking forward to Dinner tomorrow!!
Amazing place, Very Good and attentive service, They have a big and delicious meals.
Stracciatella was very bland pasta was amazing. The deal breaker you need a new coffee bean, the worst after taste. Great staff
Great variety of Italian pastas and pizzas. Friendly staff and family run. They also sell their own balsamic vinegar, which is delicious.
Always good. Great service! Nice family place.
Quick service, pleasant staff, good selection of food.
I really didnt enjoy my food. Most of my pizza was onions (huge chunks) and hot peppers dominated the rest of the tastes.
Good Italian restaurant. The food is very good. The services in my own experience are not the greatest. But definitely it a place to try
Great food
Nice friendly staff. Pizza was great -but serving bread as an appetizer before defeats the purpose! Cheapest oil & gaggingly sharp vinegar dipping for bread (Acropolis Organics is amazing with Nonna Pias Balsamic Glaze -for first rate dipping! If you want to stand out -impress your customers with a memorable experience!).
Excellent pizza from the wood fired oven!
Food was amazing like always
Cosy family restaurant with nicely prepared Italian staples, attentive service and a pretty fast turnaround time.
Wood-fired Calzone and thin-crust Pizza from a top-drawer family business 15 minutes walk from Yonge & Eglinton. Loved the family vibe, huge flaming pizza oven, and the delicious comfort food. We walked to collect on this occasion and it was ready and waiting for us. After the walk home, the pizza was a tiny bit dry. That s the only reason it didn t get 5/5. Plan on working our way through their menu and visiting for dine-in when they re fully open (written during COVID19 social distancing 2020) so thoroughly look forward to tasting again.
My favorite restaurant of all time
Excellent pizza
Before Covid I probably ate here three or four times and I enjoyed it, however I have to say since Covid their attention to detail, hard work, and food seems to be even better! Keep up the hard work and amazing food!
The pizza from here is amazing. Staff are super nice.
Great food and people!
Best chicken cesar salad in Toronto. They have Old Credit on tap which is a fantastic local brew.
Good news is food was good bad news is service was lousy! Our plates were dirty with black stuff and when we complaint they said it was from the washing machine. I dont remember them apologizing. We have to asked for another plates so this time they were clean. We noticed that some customers have bread and we didnt so we have to ask for them. In spite of all these I still gave them good tip!
Best pizza in the town.Service is also excellent!Definetly 5 starts!
Ordered a sea food paste for 19$. The pasta is store bought, the parmesan is the pre grated one you get from a store. Not seasoned and overcooked. Thought this was an italian place. Would never ordered this over priced stuff again
Great food, generous portions. Feels right at (an Italian) home.
I have really underestimated their pizzas. It was really good. Their eggplant parmesan is good too.
Affordable and perfect pastas. Once tried, you will be a fan
Simply fantastic ....family-run old school amazing hospitality stunningly good food. Ask for some hot pepper oil to put on your pizza!!
Weve been going to Ferraro for almost 8 years, and I must say that the food is very delicious especially calzone. Amazing service is just the icing on the cake. I personally feel that if you crave Italian food then this is the right place.
nice hot thin crust pizza. small very bright front street diner. If you dont like busy entrances and street traffic in front or close by then this is not the place. great for lunch time though. Menu is pricy but a great Italian selection from food to drinks to appetizers and take home stuff like a ltr of tomatoe sauce for 10 bucks.
Classic Italian food with generous portions and a cozy atmosphere.
We had an excellent meal. Pizza and pasta options are great. Everything is very fresh. Staff is courteous and always available. Great place to bring kids for an excellent family meal.
Local treasure - great pizza
Tasty Pasta, Pizza and other standard Italian food staples at reasonable prices in mid-town Toronto.
Great family pizza/pasta joint!
We love this place. Only 4 stars because theyre bolognese is light on meat. Would give 4.9 stars if I could
Nice
Great pizza!
Great local restaurant.Amazing pizzas and I love the Eglinton salad with grilled chicken.
one of the best pizzas (thin crust) magueritA i ever had... the pasta vongole was great. alot of food. great price. had the home wine, simply pure italian. service is good. you know an its a good italian restaurant when all you hear is italians talking in the background. gluten free options available for the pasta and vegetarian too. amazing friendly service. always come here when in toronto
Food was amazing, definitely recommend great date spot
Great food and service
Very good pizza, familiar style restaurants, very good menu, good place to go with kids, they dont have kids menu, but they can choose a pizza or pasta, the portions are big, so are perfect for shared, we ordered 1 pizza, 1 cesar salad (too much balsamic), 2 other pasta plates, everything was very good. Thank you
Must try the chicken parmigiana, friendly staff with a family feel! I love this place
Great familiar environment and food
So yummy! Had the J&J Pasta Special - both the gnocchi and the tomato cream sauce exceeded expectations!
Recommend, worth a visit, good food.
Super delicious pizza, very timely, and looking forward to ordering again. :)
Good food good portions and friendly staff. Kids love the pasta and the pizzas.
Great Pizza! Joes hands are simply magical!
Great pizza. Authentic. Nice service. Nutella pizza? To die for.
Tasty and nicely presented Italian food. The ambience is casual and relaxed with friendly staff.
Great food. Enjoyed my stay.
Great authentic Italian food! Good portions friendly service. Prices are affordable.
Nice place, dinner was fantastic
Good food and, price, and service
Best Italian place in the city. One of Torontos hidden gem
Best Pizza in Toronto. Great salads.
Great food and good price
5/5 service. 10/10 servers. ;)
Expensive/ mediocre food/ nice service
Great food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff
Had the pizza and salads... They were very good.
Brutal. Needs a refresh on ambiance and quality of food in the biggest way. Its convenient and Italian in a family neighborhood will always be a success but Ferraro, you need to step it up.
I think best wooden oven pizza in town and very good prices!
The portions are huge! Food was great!!
Amazing food and environment and a very friendly staff , Ferraro have the best firewood pizza ,we love it
We havent been to Ferraro in over 10 years. Went back and found it has barely changed over the years and the food and service are as great as always! Super casual place with amazing food.
Listen, if you re looking for a great Italian meal with amazing service in the city that won t cost you an arm and a leg, then Ferraro is just that. If you re in a rush, it s ideal. They are so fast and you could literally be in and out in 20 mins! Food is top notch. Pizzas are cooked to perfection, pastas are always a solid choice, their calzone is low key unreal, and pretty much anything else you could think of is tasty. The gnocchi is usually my go to and has been for like 10 years. Great ambience also, which makes for a lovely dining experience. The staff are like family now and we all know each other and the other regular customers that come in. I wish I had pictures to show but usually the food is gone before I can even pull out my phone. Parking can be a little tricky but the surrounding streets are always a safe bet. Ferraro is always a place we can go to on a weeknight and know we re going to have a great meal. Don t change! Actually, the only thing I d like is for them to be open on Sundays! But other than that, it s an incredible Italian family run restaurant in the heart of the city!
Another great place to eat. Worth lining up for.
nice food
Good food, and friendly service.
Penne with rose sauce good
Great food and staff! Constantly going back for more.
Perfect
The food is delicious, the waitress was attentive to us at all times.
Nice pizza. Thin crust and tasty, but fairly cheese heavy. Cider is available on tap.
Best authentic Italian restaurant. Love this place.
Great staff and great food. Love my Ferraro Wednesday nights.
Walked past while in the neighborhood, popped in and am very glad I did, scrumptious delicious pasta!!
Great place for Italian - warm and inviting.
its nice, good food, bread is nice
Loved the family style atmosphere!
What a surprise to find a hidden Italian gastronomical delights in a restaurant that I drove by a thousand times
Great pizza!
Great pizza
