1975A Queen St E, Toronto, ON M4L 3T2, Canada
Warm, easygoing eatery serving Italian pasta, seafood & meat dishes alongside beer & wine.
We had our staff Christmas party here at La Sala!! We had a wonderful time! The food was spectacular, and the service was above and beyond. The only thing that surprised me was, The chicken parmigiana that I ordered did not come with pasta. This was surprising to me. I have never been to an Italian restaurant where the chicken Parmesan did not come with a side of pasta or on a bed of pasta. But still very delicious!
The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. I ordered the rib steak special. The quality of cut was substandard for the cost with many bites inedible due to sinew. Fettucini and dessert were amazing. Cozy and warm dining. Si should have stuck to Italian food items from an Italian menu.
We went to lunchtime on Sunday. They offer both menus, brunch and dinner, a huge list of options. Price is fair. I got a caneloni, and my husband took a shrimp linguini. My dish was delightful. My husband's was too much mushrooms, and few shrimps, it was good, though. The service was very pleasant. The atmosphere doesn't remind Italian restaurants. It is not cozy, trying to be elegant, no success.
Good: The food was good, served quickly in generous portions and represented decent value. The owner is clearly a nice guy doing his best and wants to support the local community. Not so good: The floor would have benefited from the kindly attention of a broom; one of our party was served desert while another was still eating their main; surely a bit of Italian music is possible; no diner ever wants to be seated right next to the shelves with the side plates and ash trays and wash down sprays and dirty cleaning cloths on them. Please find another way to organise this.
A friend brought me here for dinner a few months ago and fell in love with this place and the food! The food is amazing and very flavourful. The portion sizes are nice and reasonably priced. I’ve tried a lot of things off the menu and can’t complain about any meal. Robbie is so polite and on point with his tables. He’s one of the best servers I’ve ever met. The Owner/Chef is very friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this place all the time to friends/family if they want good food, and great service!
Cozy place, great atmosphere, welcoming staff. Food was delicious, we ordered one special and one regular menu item, both were great. Make sure you get the limoncello, it's on the house, it is very good 👍 👌
My husband and I went here for dinner the other night and we were pleasantly surprised. We didn’t know there was a restaurant in the beaches that had good pasta options. All the food was tasty. The Caesar salad was probably the tasties ceasar salad I’ve had in a long time. Our waitress was also super attentive and our food was prepared really quickly!
Great location, great bread, crispy outside and soft inside. We like it so much, we had 2 potions. The appetizer is delicious, steak is juicy and tasty, great portion. Pasta and gnocchi are so delicious, full of flavors and not too salty. Will definitely go back again! Very good coffee to end the meal.
Double lamb chops and kids menu is great!
Mediocre food - pizza was doughy and greasy. The atmosphere was loud and claustrophobic. I was looking forward to this place given the high ratings but was disappointed. Not authentically Italian whatsoever as they so heavily market.
Service slow, staff rushing to get out. Building a wreck.
We had our son s baptismal lunch at this restaurant, and we loved it! Thanks again
Wonderful, delicious food with exceptional service
Its now open again! Excellent option in the area, for Italian food. We tried the salad with arugula, tomato and goat cheese. Delicious!!! Also pasta with seafood. For dessert, mango pannacotta. There are no photos because I didnt remember to take them. But highly recommended. It is only not wheelchair accessible.
Lovely family restaurant Carbonara and Pollo Limone are delicious) Food
Food was mediocre at best. Used to be way better. Wait staff were run off their feet. Way understaffed. Boss/ owner/ manager yelled at one of the waiters for some reason which my son found upsetting. Really unprofessional to yell at someone in the bar. Wont go back. Theres way better Italian around.
Honestly one of the best Italian restaurants in the city , I been going to this place for a couple of years now, unfortunately a fire had destroyed the place and only now they were able to reopen . Either way it s great food and great service at a great price . Highly recommend!
The best food, service and the Chef Amim is super nice!
Easily my favourite restaurant in Toronto, I hope they re able to reopen soon Chef and waiter are both great and warm, had lots of conversations with the chef (I grew up in italy) and his passion for my culture is remarkable, he really knows what he s talking about
Great atmosphere, great authentic food
The triple rack of lamb is one of the best lamb dishes I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The value is fantastic, and the staff super kind and welcoming. If you are in the east end (or west end if you are from scarborough) worth a pop in.
Another great night at La Sala. The food came out piping hot and chef kiss delicious! Robbie paired the meal with a perfect red what more can you ask for Our party of five easily gives La Sala five stars (a perfect 10) And on a side note, as we were walking in the party leaving remarked we were gonna love it here . They weren t wrong Check em out for yourself
Went there to have Christmas dinner with my family and my friends family with four small kids. We requested to split the bill between the two families and in response, the owner and the server started demeaning us verbally. They ruined our Christmas night. They went as far as telling us that they would not want us to come back. I have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant before. I am looking to escalate the issue further
Big portions and delicious food
Cozy atmosphere, delicious dishes. A lovely Italian experience.
Excellent food and amazing service. Some of the best food Ive ever had
Amazing original dishes! All shareable plates.
Mediocre at best. I had the linguine with seafood and the beet salad appetizer and cheesecake for dessert. Prices are good but would definitely not go back. The 5 star reviews really surprised me. Very disappointing.
Please turn off that HIDEOUS digital sign! It really cheapens the place.
Excellent pasta. I just wish the wine list was better, the menu deserves better wine to pair with the food. They could upgrade the glasses as well. Very thick glass and not suitable for a lovely restaurant like this. It would absolutely elevate the experience and benefit the entire atmosphere if they brought a sommelier in to fix this.
I love this place. Friendly staff, excellent food, lovely atmosphere. Ive been many times and they never disappoint!
It was an unplanned pitstop, but I must say that was very pleasant. We tried two different pasta, my wife and I, and both were very tasty. Its worth to try.
I think this place is great. Fabulous pasta, lovely service, and in the summer, a lovely patio just off Queen Street. Portions are extremely generous. We love the ceasar salad, which is nicely dressed and subtle, not the wet, unpleasant mess it often is at other places. I ate the manicotti - generously stuffed with herbed ricotta, covered with a cream sauce. I may have consumed a half-cows-worth of dairy but I regret nothing. Recommended.
One of our favourites. Always delicious, fresh and consistent.
We had a disappointing experience at this Italian restaurant. The mozzarella salad and pasta with meatballs were underwhelming. The salads presentation was unappealing, with odd ingredients like avocado and dried tomatoes that didnt complement each other. The meatballs lacked flavor, and the tomato sauce was overly salty. Additionally, the pasta was over-sauced. We wont be returning to this restaurant.
Great food! Great spot!
The food is always delicious at La Sala. The staff are friendly and the service is quick.
Nice patio, great food, not too pricey. A Caesar salad ($8 lrg portion to share) and an amazing carbonara was under $30. I would have had a beer but I wasn t paying $10 for a bottle. This place is a nice hidden gem just off the main strip. I d definitely go back and recommend it to others.
The food here is honestly not good. Drinks were also made wrong.
A very special place in a great area of Toronto
I was looking for a nice patio to relax with a couple of friends with some decent food and La Sala hit all of those points. Prices were very reasonable. Just good comfort Italian food in a relaxed space. Try it!
Great place for a family dinner or business lunch. Very friendly service and the ambiance is excellent. Keep an eye out as it s just a few steps off Queen St. E. Will surely return.
A broadly ok meal and experience. The staff was not overly attentive, the food was a solid average, and the ambiance was Muzak filled.
As someone who s half Italian this was the worst Italian food I ve ever had!!! No taste and the sea food was stinky!
Lovely staff and great food. Perfectly cooked pasta dishes. Cosy place. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu. Family environment Food : 5/5 |
Came on a Tuesday night for 2. Atmosphere on patio was great, service was on beat. Soon after finishing seared calamari our mains came. I m a fan of a baked pizza (Italia Bella i think) fresh arugula and cheeses. Pasta was also excellent. Seared beef was also very tender. My favourite was the calamari with the crispy kale and seasoning. Overall great food. I m normally sticky on places charging more than what I feel food is worth but for the 3 dishes, appetizer bread and tip, 70$ was very well worth it.
We enjoyed our Italian meals of Cleopatra Scallopina, Caesar salad , Beet salad, Lasagna and Black Cod. All were delicious With drink and tip $50 per person. Service was good and the patio was comfortable. Some noise from house music, a band on Queen Street East and traffic. July 2023 Had beet salad and black cod The cod could use some more spice, even lemon . Overall the three of us enjoyed our meals,, Parking: Parking on or around Queen Street East is always a search.
Food Quality sucks. Chef is missing the basics of food serving. Most likely a youtube chef. This is not authenticate italian restaurant. Spent $200 and disappointment. The owner doesnt have clue how to price wine. He overpriced some cheap wine collection he has. Place is not clean. Lots of flys all over the place. Food
We were here for Beaches Jazz Festival Toronto Streetfest and this restaurant was right in the middle of the festival. We enjoyed a great family-friendly dinner and the jazz music after. Very delicious Italian food: pizza, pasta & seafood.
Always the best. I live in the area and I eat here regularly. Super friendly chef/owner Hameem is always checking on customers and preparing the tastiest and in store made pastas. The prices are incredible for the quality. I get the bolonais or the agnolotti. $18 and delicious, perfect amounts. Eat in upstairs or main floor, or on the heated patio out front, just off queen st, steps to the beach! Great date night spot, or take out, or eat in regular. My fav place.
Great service and accommodation for gluten free diners.
Thought I would try a simple menu item as it was my first time. Had the spaghetti and filet mignon meatballs, was not disappointed. Comfort food at its best! Good bread with olive oil and balsamic for dipping. Courteous service, will probably try the mussels next time. Food
Great food. Some dishes are a little spicy but very tasty. The pastas are perfect and you must try the grilled calamari. We will be going back.
Great food great portions and very fair prices
Was great for kids - well priced
One of the worst dining experiences in service I ve ever had . We made a reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night. The restaurant had customers but by no means was it busy. We all came down to the beaches from the east end for a Saturday night date night. We were all very hopeful after seeing the menu and other reviews online. But boy were we wrong. We were sat at our table on time with 2 of our party already waiting for us. The wait staff left menus and 2 bottles of water for the table. That would be the last time we were approached by any staff at all for 40 plus minutes before we all just decided to walk out. In the time we sat there patiently waiting the acknowledgement of a waiter. To no avail. We saw several tables around us on the patio served drinks apps and entrees. After nearly an hour of being completely ghosted by the wait staff we called another local restaurant to see if they had space for us. Which they did so we got up to leave. As we were walking out a host asked if everything was alright? I simply replied no. And proceeding to walk out with my party of 6. I dont know if the food is any good. Or if the value is any good. We know nothing about la sala other than it is the single worst dining service any of us have ever experienced. Beyond disappointed. Would not recommend would not give another chance.
I sat there for 40 mins on Saturday night with nothing but water . I can t review the food or drinks because no thought we were worthy of even being approached after making a reso a week before . Wouldn t recommend as it was one of the rudest experiences I have had dining out in the city . Green Eggplant was great . They took us no problem
Had a quick dessert and tea here. Both were great. Staff was really nice and provided good alternatives.
I never understood why they put some religious chat in the speakers lol it became boring.
Excellent atmosphere, food and service.
I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences ever. Heres a breakdown of what went wrong: Atmosphere: The chairs didnt match, giving the place an uncoordinated look. The walls were an overwhelming vibrant yellow. Paintings on the walls were crooked and placed in unconventional places. The harsh, unflattering fluorescent lighting contributed to the uncomfortable ambiance. The glassware looked dirty and stained making us question the restaurants hygiene standards. Service: We were served chili flakes and oil in small bowls. We, therefore, chose to dip crusts into the oil. To our astonishment, the server thoughtlessly transferred these used bowls to another table, raising serious concerns about cross-contamination and safety. Our server instructed us to keep our used and dirty cutlery after the starter. This likely happened throughout the night Food: The pizza had cheddar cheese instead of the expected mozzarella, a clear deviation from traditional pizza toppings. Even the Caprese salad, a seemingly straightforward dish, was ruined with the unnecessary addition of clubhouse garlic plus seasoning, an unwelcome surprise. Overall, this experience left much to be desired.
Deciding to dine at La Sala based on the seemingly glowing 5-star reviews, I held high expectations for a good experience. Sadly, my visit was marred by disappointing food, lackluster service, and an offbeat atmosphere. The Caprese Salad I ordered seemed to be drenched in Club House garlic seasoning, completely overwhelming the dish. The prosciutto pizza was an unexpected letdown with its use of cheddar cheese, and the condiments like chili flakes and sauce were inexplicably dry and shared between tables. The service fell short of even basic standards, with the waitress insisting that I keep my used cutlery and even the plate from the starter for my main course. Adding to the disappointment, the ambiance was anything but inviting, characterized by mustard-yellow walls, paintings oddly situated at knee level, and a chaotic jumble of mismatched chairs. It unequivocally failed to meet the expectations one would have for a supposedly upscale Italian dining establishment.
A delightful walk-in experience at this Indian fusion Italian place. Everything is reasonably priced and is perfect for those of us with smaller appetites . Must tries are the seafood risotto and the spicy seafood pasta.
The food is quite good as is the service but a little care could be put into the atmosphere. Where supplies are stored and a sprucing up would really move this into the 5 star category. Value for money is excellent.
For the price, you can t beat this place. We stumbled across it while wandering The Beaches, and the service was top notch. Great food and nice cozy setting.
If you havent been to La Sala, you are missing out. The food is unbelievable and the price is extremely fair. They can easily charge 5-10$ more per dish and people would be happy to pay it. Such a hidden gem.
Happy to find this great place at the end of our street...delicious Caesar, crusty bread and good pasta
Food was excellent and service was expectional for the large group that we had.
We found this special gem 2 years ago. It never disappoints and has become one of our favourite date spots. It has a very cozy, and classy vibe. Pasta and sauce is very authentic, I recommend you try the Gnocchi!
Great Italian food! Cozy, romantic atmosphere, perfect for date night. Portions are massive - we split an app and a dessert in addition to our mains, but could barely finish everything. Service was pleasant. I can recommend the eggplant, lobster and tiramisu.
Food was delicious Salmon was cooked to perfection! Gnocchi was mouth watering. Service was amazing. THANK YOU! Cant wait for da patio!
Went here for my moms birthday dinner, had such a great time! The food is amazing, some of the best Italian I ve had in the city. Service is great, a lot of really hardworking young people!! Highly recommend.
Deliciousness brought to you by amazing staff. Great find in the Beaches.
Really nice food with good portions, and excellent service. We prefer the pastas.
Fabulous food, fabulous service, and those fabulous patio heaters! Cant go wrong!
Discovered this place while walking by, great patio spot with full afternoon sun drew us in! Heaters were out so we were cozy. Food was INCREDIBLE! We had the black cod, and the squid ink and salmon pasta, both were bursting with flavour and each bite was better than the last! Definitely a must try in the Beaches area!
Good food and service and a nice touristy vibe to the ambience
Servers pleasant but forgetful
The food was delicious, the portions were huge and the outdoor patio for 4 was beautiful. Drinks went down really well too! Very reasonably priced under $140 for dinner and 2 drinks. Two adults two children.
The plates were dirty as well as the glasses. The steak arrived before the entree. Missing cutlery on table. The only + was the delicious food.
Straight forward neighborhood spot for Italian food. To our surprise, the calamari appetizer was especially very good.
Not sure where all the 5 stars are coming from. It wasnt bad service... it was no service. I had no idea where our server was most of the time. The food is NOT authentic Italian food. If youve eaten in Italy or been to a good Italian restaurant, you will be disappointed. The tiramisu had chocolate chips?!! Weird. And it was soupy. Food was all too salty and not very good. The risosto was properly cooked but there was soo much mushroom and vegetable stock the taste was unpleasant. Stick to salads here. Not a place I would go back again.
Great service, smile, happy, fast! AWESOME food! I enjoyed each of my dishes
Hidden quality restaurant
Cute patio and great Italian cuisine.
Enjoyed the meal. Very tasty. Plan to return to try some of the other options on their menu. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Worst pizza I ve ever had in my life. Pasta is as terrible. I ve honestly not had something that bad in years. Should be featured on Gordon Ramsay s kitchen nightmares
The 2 stars are for the food and the food alone. It was amazing and everything the reviews promised not a single complaint there. But I will never set foot in that place ever again. The service was appalling. We were seated on the patio and there were 2 servers a lady and a gentleman. The male server who seemed to be largely handling the tables on the patio was paying the utmost attention to all the other guests. 15 minutes of being ignored I had to ask if I could order drinks for my kids. Then I had to ask if I could order food for them Then we had to ask for more water, bread...and so on and so forth. Eventually my husband went in to ask for takeaway boxes and the bill. All this time all the other tables around us were getting served without lifting a hand. Even those who came after us were getting drink orders, bread etc before us. Whatever it was about, I hope it wasnt that we are black. The poor girl tried to be fair. If the servers had been entirely absent, fine bad service. But to just be ignored?
Delicious food, great prices, wonderful service. I really enjoyed the mussels.Really fun place.
Service was subpar. We didnt have one waiter, multiple people helped us; some were nice some were indifferent. My wifes seat was wet and it ruined her pants, we asked to switch chairs, no apology. Some of the plates we recieved were not clean. The main issue was with the seafood pasta my wife ordered. One of the mussels my wife ate was rotten. When we told the staff they took away our food, and apologized, and the wait staff said he would talk to the chef. Upon his return he said the chef said that it was cooked and opened because they only use closed mussels, so I guess they assumed we were lying. Nothing was taken off the bill, no manager came to talk to us. Overall just a very amateur experience. We paid our bill, ate half the food and had a pretty sad evening out. 10/10 would never recommend.
I went there with my family because the reviews were good, but I was disappointed with the service and food. When I first sat down, I was surprised when I was guided by my chin to sit at that table. I now wish I had left at that point, but the kids were hungry, so I went straight to my seat. After that, as I sat down, my pants started to get wet, so I touched the chair and it was wet. I changed it. I ordered pizza and seafood pasta, and the pizza was delicious, but when I ate the shellfish in the seafood pasta, it tasted rotten, so I immediately threw it up. I told them that and they said they would tell the chef, so I waited and was told that there was no such thing as they were cooking with shellfish with their shells closed. Ive been to a lot of restaurants, but this is the first time Ive received food and service like this, so Id like to share it with you. I think its great that its in a good location near the beach, but I dont think Ill go there again, and I dont recommend it to people who want delicious, fresh food.
Penne pasta, awesome
Food was good. Patio was fun in the sun. Good experience. Happy times.
a recent dinner here was a disappointing experience...entertaining an out-of-town guest was somewhat embarrassing. The waiter didnt write down the orders and delivered only one of the two mains we ordered, even pointing the dishes out on the menu to him; the one he did bring was the wrong dish completely. While we waited for the second dish, my husbands dinner was getting cold, so the guest and I shared the wrong dish and that was the end of it. When the bill came and we told the waiter what had happened, he wasnt in the least bothered, did not offer any recompense nor apology; he just shrugged. will not be returning any time soon.
Love the ambiance of the place! Customer service is amazing and food is super delicious!
We ve eaten here and had take out over 20 times, and every single time it s amazing. We ve tried most of the menu without any complaints. You can tell that Chef cares about his restaurant and employees. Highly recommend.
It was the night of the jazz festival. We were happy to get a seat right away. The service was good. They were quick due to how busy it was. We kept it simple with a pizza and beer. Pizza was a little bit burnt on one edge but no damage as I do the like crusts. All in it was a good experience given how busy they were. Great job and I hope you enjoy it there too.
Very busy with few wait staff. Jazz festival on Queen E hence busy. Some wait staff more efficient. Food took a long time to come and 2 of 3 orders wasnt good. One server at least offered a replacement meal but guests opted for coffee instead. At least the server attempted to appease dinner guests. Probably wont eat there again.
Great staff. Nice new patio.
Excellent staff, service and food! Definitely will go again!
We really enjoyed this place. Good pizza with a tonne of mozzarella and an excellent cod entre. The kale salad was delicious too.
Nice restaurant with relaxing staff, we enjoyed food and drinks.
Quaint dining experience on the balcony. We decided to test their Italian fundamentals so we opted for Spaghetti & Lasagna. Our food was brought to the table in a timely manner and was piping hot. The ingredients high quality and flavorful. Our server was knowledgeable and congenial. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will be back again to dive into their comprehensive menu.
Had a great experience in the past but this visit was not good. Our mussels and risotto tasted like they were cooked in Campbells soup. Staff were kind. Wouldnt go back.
Great place to eat. The staff is so nice
Great food.
My husband and I had a delicious dinner here. Everything was exceptional. We will be returning again and again!
Awful. Don t go. The beef tenderloin medallions were pounded flat smothered in tomato sauce( no mention that it was tomato sauce in the menu ). Had my red wine spilled all over my shorts and all white Nike Shoxx ( which aren t made any longer ). Not only did I leave hungry, there was no attempt from anyone who worked there to stop me or to apologize or offer any kind in compensation. My meal was removed from the bill along with 3 glasses of wine, which my 2 friend orders to have with their dinners as well did I. Service was very slow on four water glasses weee never refilled after the first round that was brought out. My friends tried to enjoy their meal ( lamb chops and the rib eye special ). Neither of their meal were good. Lamb over cooked and there was nothing special about the ribeye.
Did not enjoy my experience here. The staff was attentive and friendly however the food was not great. This is my second time here INCASE the first time was a mishap. However, the food is sweet (how?!) Or too salty. The salad I had was not fresh, the wine selection isnt my favourite. I genuinely feel like picking up fresh pasta and sauce at an Italian grocery store would lead to more of an enjoyable meal.
Where to celebrate our anniversary? Lets try La Sala. Excellent choice. The meal was outstanding, the service discrete. All reasonably priced from appetizer to dessert, plus sparkling water and wine. We meet the chef after and had to compliment his culinary skills. The grilled calamari with the the fried arugula was like nothing weve tasted before. Well be back before our next anniversary.
The food is delicious. But the housekeeping is not appetizing. When we walked in there last night there were gas cans for outdoor heaters on the floor alongside the bar. To the right the counter where food is served from, there were messy looking boxes stacked on the floor. A good clean and clean out is needed. I would not feel comfortable bringing guests.
We got a table then were forgotten. We spent 10 minutes waiting for a waiter to at least ask for drinks. We had to call the waiter over ourselves in the empty restaurant. While ordering the waiter seemed confused and stared at ususm blankly. (was he high?) We decided to leave. Very weird experience.
Celebrating birthdays. First time in area. Looked at 6 other restaurants....SO very happy we chose LaSala. Great food and service. Chef and writer both fantastic. A memorable evening...highly recommended!
Last night was an embarrassing and disappointing experience. I took a friend there and it was extremely loud which made it difficult to talk, (The loud music didn t help) the door was left open to the outside which made us cold, it took forever to get our drink (Maybe they were short staffed?). If it hadn t been so late we would have left and gone to another restaurant. I have been to La Sala before and loved it so last night was very disappointing!
Excellent selection of food, great service and good pricing. S/E corner of Waverly Rd and Queen St. E Tucked away gem. Definitely worth a few more visits. Food
Food, music, atmosphere was perfect!
Super! The waiter is great, everything is very tasty! Im delighted! I am a very capricious client!
Amazing quality food with generous sized portions. As great as I remember it!
This restaurant was so good. The food was amazing. I say one of the best pasta I have ever tasted. The server (I wish I knew her name) was top notch. She was so sweet to us tonight. Thank you for making us feel comfortable since its been a while eating out after the pandemic.
Food is great. Service is awesome!
We used to love coming here. Food was great, service was excellent and atmosphere was wonderful. Our last 2x, summer 2022 and last week, service was very slow, we werent checked on if we wanted more drinks, etc and sat with dirty dishes and empty glasses. Over priced appetizers compared to previous covid, and average at best mains. Staff arguing amongst themselves in front of customers. Unfortunately I think this will be our last visit...very disappointing
I recommend going to this spot. Went here with coworkers and friends for a work Christmas party. Food was surprisingly amazing for the atmosphere and prices. Good spot for date night, night out with friends or family, or just looking to listen to good music and have a drink.
Hit and miss. Im very familiar with Italian food. Once food was good, the other time very mediocre. There are much better Italian restaurants in town.
What a feast! La Sala has always been a place weve wanted to try and although we couldnt enjoy eating at the restaurant, the take out was perfect. We had the Caesar Salad, Pesto Penne and Carbonara and all were spot on. Very fresh, flavourful and large portion sizes. Looking forward to going again in person once were able to!
The best food ever
Always good. Love their menu! Friendly, accomodating, appreciative of your business. A true gem in the Beaches.
Ordered take out from La Sala last night. The food was fresh and delicious! For two people we ordered the mediterranean pasta, gorgonzola gnocchi, butternut squash soup, and spinach salad! Portions were good, so there were leftovers. I am vegetarian, so I loved how many options La Sala has compared to other italian restaurants! :) I would order again!
Friendly staff, great food, will visit again...
Hands down, one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Great staff, cozy little atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. You wont be disappointed - its our favorite restaurant to visit anytime were in the Beach.
Great food and great service! Love their patio. Definitely recommend it
Great food. Nice relaxing place good service.
Great food! Amazing service. I have cravings for La Sala all the time ;)
No meatballs! The service is very friendly and the location is great especially after the beach. The patio is well done and the lobster pasta dish was nice however the meatball dish was very disappointing, the meatballs burnt and the pasta too al dente but the tomato sauce was the dealbreaker for me, you taste the sauce from the can and the vinegar, my stomach literally was sick by the time I got home so stay away from the tomato based dishes which is hard at an Italian restaurant, I understand
Love this restaurant! Delicious food and excellent friendly service. The chef even came out to say hello on a busy night. Would definitely recommend this restaurant in the Beaches
Good food. Great prices. Awesome service.
The food is really good. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Got Pasta La Mare with tomato sauce and wasnt disappointed, indeed generous delicious amount of sea food. Keep it up buddies!
Twice in one week should say it all! Came with two separate groups and everyone loved the food both times. The service was fast, super friendly and accommodating. The owner and head chef really welcomes his clients. Excellent veal, pasta, pizza, beef carpaccio and salads. The outdoor patio is pretty, cozy and well protected in case of rain. We ll be back
Lamb chop dinner. Burnt, then Raw. Confronted by the chef. Will never go here again!
Quantity over quality was my impression.
Beautiful not-so-big restaurant on Queen Street. Great menu, excellent food, quick service and charming staff. I loved it. Thanks
My wife and I found this little gem of a restaurant recently, and we couldn t be happier! The chef hit a home run with every dish that came out, one after another. By far the best meal we ve had in a while. I would highly recommend!
Our fav restaurant in all of Toronto. The pasta is magnificent every time we have dined there. The patio overlooks Queen Street and is a real treat. The servers are the best.
Great place. Great food. Washrooms could use a scrub
Nice patio, below average food. We were really disappointed with the quality of the ingredients, the lack of flavour and the presentation. Had some wine by the glass and it was also sub-par. Do not expect too much.
Boomers seem to love it. But skip our food was subpar the patio is dated. Go to Mira Mira down a block
Good experience very friendly although the food is not very Italian was rather heavy and greasy
Cosy and quaint. Good food and value.
Delicious food and great service. The Caesar salad and Caprese salad were impeccable. I had the filet minion as a main (see pic) and it was cooked beautifully and a great portion. My friend has the rainbow trout which was also very good and they give you 2 fillets! I highly recommend you try this little spot for yourself.
Was introduced to this place last Sunday evening by a friend who lives in the beaches. Nothing but great things to say about this place. Friendly service by both the waiters and the owner. The food was amazing, the prices were great and the patio was pleasant and just the right size. Take the time to meet the owner, his dream of opening La Sala was heart warming. Will definately come again.
My husband and I dined inside tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the meal was FANTASTIC! Best beef carpaccio I ve ever had. The fusilli was delicious too! Highly recommended.
Family restaurant good food full bar and brewery on site
Excelente experiencia hidden away in the beaches. Im a local and had never thought to check the place out! An amazing menu with something for everyone and great service all around. The bread and meal were so fresh and well tasting well be back
Had dinner there last night. Service was extremely slow, waiter took forever to take our order and the main course was very slow to arrive. Wait staff forgot to replace cutlery that they dropped, never checked to notice that we d run out of water, my son s drink didn t arrive until I finally flagged the waiter down mid-sitting. In short, we felt ignored. When the mains finally arrived, my pasta dish with salmon and inky linguini was under-seasoned and rather bland, my wife s risotto was similarly just okay. My child s plain pizza was decent, and my mother s cod dish tasted odd to her and was left unfinished. The meal took over 2 hours - fine if you are pampered, ordering extra wine, desserts etc but we were a family with a young kid who typically spend an hour at similar restaurants. The time was mostly spent waiting for ordering, food courses, then for someone to even ask for the bill. All the rest of the night, my stomach was growling loudly and felt off. Same with my wife. My mother had to rush home with bad diarrhea. I never give reviews but felt the need to give a public service warning.
Great food, great service, great prices! We had carpacho, the octopus, the veal, and pastas. All were excellent! Very friendly staff and great service. The owner came by and talked to us. Very pleasant man. And the patio is very cozy. We had a great time! We will be back. Thank you very much!
Good food, friendly service.
Great service, amazing food. 5 stars all around!!! :)
Food is really good, staff was nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend
Without a doubt the best calamari Ive ever had. Period. Michelin star level calamari. I dont say this lightly You need to eat this Do the right thing
Excellent food
The pizza is so yum!!!
This place should be your go to Italian place. The squid and kale is a must. The lamb chops.... im speechless. Kudos to the chef. You will never regret it. The food is AMAZING! The staffs amazing and knows their menu. Warren and Ronicas service were exceptional!
The best restaurant in town.
So far, weve dined here twice, and each of our experiences at La Sala have been wonderful! Thank-you to Hameem for taking such great care with our meals, especially with regards to our allergies and food sensitivities!
The location and ambiance was great, the service left a-lot to be desired and food just ok. Waited 10 min or so to order (tables that came in after had orders taken before us). We ordered two starters and two mains. Asked for starter with onions on the side, instead came with extra onion (hmmm?). Second starter came with the main. One main did not come and had to be rushed in the kitchen. It was clear that the staff were not in sync and frustrated with each other. Had to flag server down for utensils while first main sat on table. There was an acknowledgement and apology for the mistakes no adjustment to the bill to compensate. Meals were ok but not what I would have expected for a finer Italian restaurant. We agreed that it s likely not worth a second shot.
Delicious food, cooked very well.
La Sala is amazing! Not only are the portions perfect, but the prices are not absurd. I don t think there is one dish over 30$, even the specials. The food is very elegant and made fresh to order. The restaurant is in a house so it has a very comfortable atmosphere. The chef will always bring out complimentary bruschetta as well. I recommend any of the seafood dishes or the lamb chops.
Simply awesome.
The Linguini Contadina (pasta with wild mushrooms in a garlic aioli) was excellent.
Great location and even better food. Beautiful restaurant from the private dining area to the patio. The staff are friendly. All in all great vibe. I highly recommend this place.
This review will be mostly positive. First the good... nice patio, great place to enjoy a beer and a light lunch or a full dinner. Location... for me anyway:). Great staff... friendly/ attentive. Now for the food... started with the beef carpaccio ($14.00) which hit the mark. I had the manicotti ($18.00) - slightly oily and noticeably salty with salt the predominant flavour. Lacking overall. GF had the spezzatino and tagliatelle ($24.00) -- like a stroganoff. Also slightly on the salty side but the quality and quantity of the ingredients shone through. Regardless will return for another try. PS 3.5 star rating but since Google doesnt support the level of granularity going with 3 stars.
Ate here twice. Both times the food has been phenomenal. Chef Hameem is talented. Everyone at your table had to compliment him directly as he came out to the patio. The Black Fettuccine Nero - (they make their noodles fresh daily) in the lobster tomatoe sauce- ridiculous how good that dish is. The tuna steak and beef medallions also top shelf. Eat here if youre in the beaches. Reasonable pricing.
Good food, great staff, affordable prices
Amazing place and food
Great service! There was an error on our order and they made it right without hassle. Delicious mixed vegetables too. Highly recommend.
Nice place, friendly service. Not so great food, unfortunately.
my new favourite Italian restaurant. Excellent service, great food, good quality and quantity. Very nice patio and nice relaxed atmosphere.
Just what you want for a comfortable, easygoing Italian night. Shared a few glasses of prosecco and mussels in a white wine tomato sauce. Beautiful rich flavours in the sauce and great bread to pair. Had pasta arrabiata and papardelle bolognese - very good fresh pasta and the sauce fresh, balanced, and delicious. Had an Italian rosso to bring it all together. Will be keen on coming back!
Wowww
Stumbled on this place just off Queen East on a busy long weekend Sunday. It blew our socks off! The patio was shaded and quiet. Staff was great and friendly. The food was AMAZING (best seared calamari and kale I ve ever had). Reasonably priced PLUS a good drink menu too! Definitely going back.
I had a great time with my family at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the portions are big!! Service was quick and efficient. They also have a lovely patio to dine on. Highly recommended!
Food and the service here was steller! Great value for the quality of food. Wine is also very well priced. see our bottle attached, which I would suggest btw. Very authentic tasting, very cute and quite. Perfect date spot. Thanks for staying open late on Sunday for me and my girl
We were walking down queen street after a visit to the beaches and was on the lookout for some beer patios. La Sala stood out on the streets with a really cool and cozy looking ambience. We decided to try it out! They have a decently sized outdoor seating with those fancy fire posts. We were the only people there - thanks to covid and the fall. Not the best place for a beer - but they did have some italian beers that I hadnt heard of before and decided to check them out. For starters we tried the calamari that was specifed to be seared and not fried. It came with roasted kale and was definitely something new for us! The prices are a bit on the higher end - but totally justified for the ambience and food quality. Do check them out if youre in the area.
Cozy, safe, fresh, delicious and warm and caring service!! Highly recommend and cant wait to return!!.. Especially in covid times
Lasagna had a nice taste but unfortunately the pasta plates were overcooked, and the meal itself was undercooked (a little bit cold and warmed just enough to melt the cheese). It felt like the lasagna has been built from separate items because it s a weird combination that the pasta plates are overcooked and the sauce is a bit cold, but cheese was melted. As if it was cooked in a microwave oven instead of a real oven? I have no idea and would be glad to have a clarification if I m wrong but this was the impression of the meal. For the price it wasn t too bad but I would have expected a bit more for an Italian restaurant that had great reviews. Positive points for the cute patio and service though, those two separately would deserve five points!
Super fresh. Owner is friendly and super helpful. 5 star food and prompt service.
Quaint and home like atmosphere. Casual dining. Large variety of pasta dishes and other italian dishes to chose. Descent wine list. Very reasonable prices. Friendly wait staff.
