2901 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M2K 1E6, Canada
O&B Bayview Village is the first location of Oliver & Bonacini’s casual dining restaurants. This large urban space feels very downtown despite its North Toronto location. A gleaming open kitchen extends into the airy dining room, featuring washed tin ceilings, leather banquettes and dramatic and distinctive light fixtures. The menu offers something for everyone, including fresh, made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and fire-roasted pizzas.
1) Good mushroom soup, pasta And kids meal 2) Low quality brunch dish "SMOKED SALMON BENNIES" Potatoes were dry, soaked English muffins on 1 side, tiny portion of greens, and acceptable-only presentation (egg fell off from the muffin before the dish landed my table) Maybe it is because it will be closing on Jan 1, 2024? I came here 5 years ago and it was much better!
We haven't been to this place for a while but we always had positive experience here in the past. We came last Friday with our two year-old, and we had a very enjoyable dinner. The five start is for the service we received, efficient and attentive. Merit mentioning is that our son wanted some lemon slices at the beginning and our waiter was in the kitchen, but this girl from the bar she saw us from a distance and came to help, she knows how impatient these little toddlers can be and brought us lemon slices right away and she also made sure there was no seeds in the slices she gave us. These small gestures do make a difference, while the little one enjoys his time, his parents can also have a better dining experience and will want to come back. Our waiters were also very considerate in terms of paying extra attention in placing the utensils and dishes (not to avoid breaking things but to make it easier for the mother pre-handle the food for the kid). Overall they made me feel they know how to help customers with young children, this definitely earned extra points from me. The food was also very good. We had a pasta dish, a pizza (from libretto- wood burning), polenta fries and grilled calamari; also an aperol sprite. Overall our son enjoyed his dinner, so did his mama and papa.
This place could’ve gotten 5 stars BUT since Covid things have sadly changed. I first went here in 2019, the food and atmosphere was AMAZING, the staff are awesome. Our drinks was tasty and strong, the crab/cod cake with eggs Benedict on top was to die for! The mint waffles were extremely delicious it was perfect. Went back in summer 2022…. The atmosphere had changed, the place seemed more empty…like they had empty seats and tables staked and tapped off… most of the booth sitting was damaged…and the food was lackluster, it was boring and forgettable. The staff was super friendly but I don’t think I will go back unless they change their menu or if someone else is paying for my food…don’t feel like wasting my money.
Redemption. So we attended for Winterliscious this year and honestly at the time it did not meet our expectations. However, we reached out to O&B they were very apologetic, understand our concerns and offered for us to come back. Well we went back tonight and WOW! This was the meal that we were hoping for. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service again was great, however the food was spectacular. We started with the corn chowder which was very delicious. The mushroom ravioli was out of this world, perfectly cooked with amazing flavour. The turkey burger was delicious and juicy which is not easy to do with a turkey burger and the poke bowl was also delicious. The carrot cake we shared for dessert was some of the best we have ever had, second only to grandma's. I find many are too quick to post bad reviews without giving the restaurants a chance to redeem themselves. O&B truely out did themselves tonight and redemption was achieved!
I have to say the food quality is not that great for what you are paying for. Our server is excellent but I would say everything was way better pre covid. We ordered a prime and its very chewy and alot of fat. I was expecting a thick cut steak. My wife ordered a glass of red and we have to sent it back.(It’s actually taste like it has been opened for a long time). I would not go back again for this kind of food quality. I am not sure if it’s better for lunch since I have seen a few good reviews out there? Update May 21, 2023: the assistant manager at the Bayview village reached out to me to understanding the situation. We went there again yesterday and I would say the food quality improved a lot. Overall, I would rate 5/5 for services 3.5/5 for food as some of the side are very salty. The mains are good as it’s hot when it was served which is a big improvement from last time. Maybe it wasn’t too busy last night and that’s a big factor.( posted a few picture for the second visit for comparison)
Planned my surprise engagement to my girlfriend here on Saturday, and it went off amazingly. From the staff to the food, everything was what I asked for. Private dining for those special intimate occasions, lovely room. The restaurant itself is very classic, clean and great flow. The food and presentation of the food is too notch. I personally recommend visiting Oliver & Bonacini Bayview. Shout out to Jason (FOH manager), and our server (forgot his name) they did an excellent job in hosting our special event.
Always delivering on consistent service and food quality. We came here for brunch service. Had the Baby Gem Lettuce salad and all the ingredients were fresh. You can taste the natural sweetness of the heirloom carrots. The snow peas were crisp. The lettuce had the right amount of salad dressing on it. The Bayview Breakfast delivers on quality ingredients and great value. Two eggs of your style, three sausage links, home potatoes (sliced not diced) with sweet onion garnish, large multigrain toast. Vegetariana pizza contained lots of vegetables. Crust was not too thick nor too thin. Ingredients tasted all fresh. Overall, it is another great value for the money sit-down restaurant at Bayview Village. Staff are all courteous and prompt. I recommend their weekend brunch as you can still order off their lunch menu as well.
Came here for Summerlicious 2019 - $33 for a three-course dinner. Overall experience was great! Service was quick and the servers are friendly and accommodating. We didn’t really enjoy the lemon square for the dessert as it was too sour so they offered to give us another dessert on the house. Amazing customer service. The appetizers and mains were very delicious and filling. However, we ordered the O&B Grilled Calamari for $17 and the portion was incredibly small for what we expected a $17-dish to be. Only gave us a few calamari and the rest was salad. The calamari was decent - nothing spectacular. Would suggest passing on this dish. Nevertheless, loved the variety of dishes they offered. Atmosphere is quite nice but it can get a little loud so you might have to speak up when you’re dining with your friends. Overall, great night, great dinner, and would like to come here again!
Good restaurant
The burgers are so basic. you definitely enjoy 5guys way more than their burgers and it took forever for them to bring it ...! And the turkey burgers smells bad not recommended
Do not order burgers at this place. Worst burgera I have ever had. The smoked turkey burger smelled so bad that I only took one bite from it. The two star is only for the vibe of the place. Food in general is not worth a try at this place.
Food took 70 minutes to arrive. Was cold and not good. Staff was very gracious and manager comped meal.
Good spot for lunch.
Service wapspp great. Food not good as it was before. Maybe i ordered the wrong thing. I got the Rose seafood pasta and pizza diavolo.
Friendly service and great food. Great atmosphere!
I had the full Bayview, haddock fish cakes, Olivers famous carrot cake, and two americano. It was okay, my be my expectation was bit high for O&B chain. ============================================= : Bare minimum - I would not visit or use service again. : Satisfy - I would visit the place or use the service when I got a chance. : Exceptional - I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Cesar salad was just ok, roasted salmon was good. I would go back for another try.
I was there today and ordered the quiche. It came with a very small, plain arugula salad, dressed with vinaigrette. There was a slice of quiche but it was not enough to fill me. 18 dollars. Should of come with some homefries. I had to go home and eat pizza!! Karen
Felt as though the chef was not there and the kitchen staff had put some ingredients just to make something. The salmon dish I ordered was just aweful. I was looking forward to visiting this location with my family since I had been to there a few years ago. But very disappointed. The food is mediocre at best.
Food was great if not slow, great recommendations from the server and he was pleasant
Quality of food has gone down since last few years. Pre-pandemic meals were well prepared and flavorful. Service is still o.k. I ordered salad with fennel, there was hardly any fennel in it. Just tomato pieces for 15 dollars, and small salmon piece was extra cost. Not worth the cost. Wheelchair accessibility: Its inside the mall so good for disabled folks.
I forgot to ask the Filipino guy waiter. But he is really good. Food is okay. Drinks is nice and service is absolutely magnificent! Highly recommended. However make sure to ask for that waiter or else everything is just okay.
Highly overpriced dated eatery that is a poster child for overpriced mediocre and bland food (but its in an upscale mall in an upscale area), tiny portions and sky high prices. The space also needs a total overhaul, with its large wooden bar-style chairs (are they as old as the restaurant 15 years or so?) and dented drywall here and there . Its old and reminds us of a non-descript bland decor suburban sports bar or small town hotel restaurant. We had a group of people over the holidays, and we got Luke warm undercooked, limp pizza in this supposed brick oven temple of pizza. Utterly disappointing. The $20 grilled calamari appetizer with some kind of missing sauce that was the key reason of the order was the size of an amuse-bouche at a cocktail party, with the undercooked consistency of a blanched prawn on a piece of nigiri. The kids menu at least saved us some money. My recommendation is avoid. this aging place without hesitation. Instead go to the quaint, modern and massively superior and cheaper il fornello restaurant 10 feet across the aisle in n the mall if you can get in. No, I dont work for the other place (they dont need my help). The namesake celebrity chef whose name is on the wall might want to pop in see if he can find his way again do some real work and crank out more than Boston pizza level food, tv appearances permitting. $400 for a few pizzas 4 kid menus 2 deserts and 2 glasses of wine. Ouch!
Used to be nice place.
Food was good. So was service. But the noise was just awful. And management really tolerated it. We we 40 feet away and could not have reasonable conversation.
Reliably good food. Service is bit or miss. Conveniently located.
Pizza and Calamari had no colour, needed more cook. Manhattan clam chowder is tomato soup. Lamb chops and pasta were better. Expected better from B & O.
All I have to say is I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro (19$) with added meatballs ($10) so it was a 30 dollar spaghetti dish. In my first bite of the noodles I knew it was under cooked cuz it tasted like half cooked instant noodles. Shocked that you can charge 30 for spaghetti and have it come out that like that anyways, chefs are humans and are prone to mistakes so it s fine. Gave them a chance to redeem this situation by taking the pasta off my bill but they did not. Ps. I have never tried to get something free at a restaurant by lying or complaining about minor issues. The pasta was simply not edible at $30 price point and I hope that others do not suffer my disappointment. I mentioned this to the waitress before asking for the bill. I m not sure if I should have escalated this issue to the manager. I m not even the type of person to complain at a restaurant usually. I just thought that at a fancier place like this, they would try to do something to redeem.
Below average food, friendly but incompetent service.
Everything we ordered was so well done and flavourful, be it pasta, soup, burger or the apps. A must visit!
Food was good, but nothing to write home about. Service was nice, but inattentive.
Great dinner!
Went for winterlicious dinner, amazing food and service! Shazad took really good care of us, looking forward to dining in again!
Atmosphere was great but unfortunately, that was the best part of my visit to this restaurant. I went with a group of friends for Winterlicious - which does have to be taken into consideration. But the food was just okay and service was actually not good. Not sure why, but I expected more.
Good food for a fair price
What a good restaurant should be! Good service with great food ! Food
What else can I say? The food was delicious as expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Its unfortunate the prices has gone up.
Very disappointed, did not get the service I was expecting. I would not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant. I had a reservation for 630pm, ended up finishing the night off at 930pm. Mushroom soup was a mush.
It is a happy restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautiful food. It is a happy restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautiful food.
An update to my post below. In response to my review the restaaurant contacted me, gave me an opportunity to voice my concerns, apologised and offered to make up with a comp meal. I appreciated and understood the gesture but explained that my review was not about price or ill meant, I was just saddened to lose a restaurant I once loved and wanted them to be mindful of the issues. They understood and I agreed to go back without them knowing to see if they had made amendments. I did so on Friday and ordered the same meal. The service was as usual and the burger was much improved. Wasnt as thin and definately not overdone. To the Management and Staff, thanks for taking time out to remedy a complaint. I must give a special shout out to the chocolate mouse dessert. It was divinely good, one of the best I have had. I have upgraded from a 3 to 4 star. ----- O&B Bayview Village is my neighborhood go to restuarant. The food and service is usually good. However, my last 3 visits since Covid has been disappointing and tonight has left me feeling I never want to go back. I was craving a burger tonight and I recall the burgers there were good so after much deliberation I decided to go out for one. The burger was the thinnest burger Id ever seen (5 mm max) and consequently it was also the most overcooked burger I had ever had anywhere. The bread was either stale or just plain dry and trashy; the bacon was dry and chewy (as opposed to crispy). The fries were good and the mocktail excellent. The service at O&B is usually very good with friendly staff. Tongight it was exceptionally good. It was busy but I was seated prompty (without a reservation), attended to without delay and served very quickly. The staff was, as usual, pleasant. I know that prices have gone up substantially and this is a difficult time for restuarants, but no restaurant, especially O&B, should ever serve such a badly done burger, especially at a price of $25. Its a pity that the food has deteriorated to the extent I doubt very much Id go back, because its quite convenient and the staff are very, very nice . . . for me, it was always like going home.
I have gone to this restaurant multiple times. Each time the quality of the food just plummets. We shared the fungi pizza and the bib lettuce salad. The pizza was soggy and who makes bib lettuce salad with ranch dressing...way too thick for the delicate lettuce. We actually had to send back our wine...so bitter but they did replace with a very good Pino Grigio. Out server was so lovely. Again, someone has to take charge of the menu and make it so much better. I know that I cant go back. Parking: Well this is one of the only reasons that I go because there is parking.
Consistent good service and food overall.
Good food, great service but expensive.
Great customer service, amazing ambiance. The food was delicious my CAESAR was on point. Will definitely be back
Had very soggy floppy pizza crust. Managers response...its thin crust pizza. Guess she missed the definition of crust. She did offer to hv it re-made, however, that offering was too late after her sarcastic remark. That wasnt eggs only negative, but Ill leave it at that.
I tried its winterlicious menu. Everything was good, especially the kale salad. The flat bread was a bit too hard.
Food quality wasnt on par with the price point, but the service staff/our waitress was fantastic.
For a restaurant owned by the Master Chef Canada host, Michael Bonacini, it has consistently failed to impress! We have given it many chances over the years and after visiting for lunch today, we will not go back. We decided to try it again as it had been prior to Covid the last time and hoped things would have changed. We were mistaken. Every dish ordered was mediocre or less than. The Bayview Breakfast was served with undercooked sausages, fatty bacon, the eggs were over-cooked and flat like pancakes. -The waitress said they can not make eggs over medium?! The toast offered was a dry whole wheat, no option given. Also the soggy tiny blob of spinach should be omitted from the breakfast plate. They failed to bring condiments to the table and did not ask if we wanted Parmesan for the pasta dish. The coffee was bitter and served cold. We had to basically ask for everything including the plates to be cleared. Bad service, below average food and no effort at all re presentation. I m sad and disappointed as it was an important day for it to go well and be enjoyable.
Great interior, service, and awesome food!
The food is good but not exceptional. I ordered veggy pasta and it was just ok. I have had better pasta other places. The service was awesome though. The server was exceptional, knowledgeable and very good in upselling.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy but we were able to get one of the last few tables without a reservation. The food was delicious and the service was great!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I have to give a big shout out to Chef Chris for an outstanding meal! The service was also amazing and really added to the overall experience. The food was simply amazing. Thank you, Chef Chris, for an unforgettable dining experience!
Been there few times and they intentionally don t have whipped cream even if Loblaws is few meters away from them. Cheap management compared with the restaurant prices. They cut everything they can but the prices are raised to the roof! Disappointed with my visit!
Wonderful restaurant with very charming and helpful staff.
Very disappointed. Arrived for birthday celebration with 10 people. Brought a cake that I was told I could and then when I arrived they said each person had to pay $2.50 on their bill to have the cake since it was outside food. Also the burgers my 1 friend and I ordered were so dry it was hard to swallow. My friend dipped each bite in ketchup, I just kept getting more water. Will not be going back
Had a wonderful time at this place in Bayview Village . The service and meals were all divine. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Good.
We had a great Lunch here. Our Server John (Asian guy) suggested great items on the menu and took really good care of our table. He was very attentive & knowledgeable. Food was Fresh and delicious too. Well be back. Thank you!
Yummy food.
Legit one of the worst restaurants. Food is comparable to what you would get on an airplane in economy class. Or like a 3 star all inclusive resort like Barcelo.
Not the best. I was expecting better for brunch because Ive had dinner here before and it was great. The bacon was hard and overdone, the scrambled eggs were bland. I liked the home fries. It was just ok. Our hostess was great. But I dont think Ill be doing brunch here again.
Good food Italian and the wine is good
Went for drinks and snacks after work. Food was ok. Service was great. Didnt like the flavor of the diavolo pizza nor the hummus but the calamari was very well done and delicious.
Server Eric was great
Perfect balance between casual dining and professional atmosphere. Great this Italian pizza, with amazing staff accommodation to custimization. Ine of my best restaurants and unfortunately it is no longer present in Oakville as it used to be in Oakville Place. But wont miss a chance to drop by whenever I am in the neighborhood.
I really love coming to this O&B. The food is always delicious, friendly staff but most importantly I love the ambiance and vibe. I love the tomato and basil spaghetti. Pizza is always a favorite, and they serve a great Americano. This place is perfect for a date, business meeting, or hangout with friends.
Waitress took initial kids orders, forgot to come back and take entree orders for us. Never came to ask us what we needed or if the food was good. Spilled water on my husband. We waited long for service and almost 20 minutes for dessert to arrive. Nobody came to get our bill so we asked the front desk. Food was amazing. Service was horrible. Kid-friendliness: Pizza was really good
I booked through open table for mother day day lunch 2 days ago and when I arrived at O&B bayview Village with my mom the front staff said my reservation was not visible. The manager Evan came over and said not to worry he would accommodate us. All I can say is Evan saved the day and huge thank you for making my Mother s Day unforgettable. I highly recommend O&B Kid-friendliness: The kids loved it
Wasnt bad, Wasnt amazing, I expected more, I will return for another try.
No change to this menu in the past 8 years. The look is ok but boring. The old 80 crowd dont bother any more. The mall like the restaurant tries to look upscale. Unfortunately the restaurant and mall are stuck in 1988. Even Nordstrom leaving has more excitement.
I like this resto.
Beautiful restaurant but the food is not outstanding. A bit blah.
Excellent experience for Mother s Day! Service and food were excellent! Somewhat surprised service was so good on such a busy day!!
It was a few years ago that I last visited this location, and I was glad to grab lunch with coworkers here last week. The restaurant was popular and the atmosphere was quite festive. However it was also quite loud. The portions were small but quite tasty.
Ate at Bayview Village location today, 1.30 pm, May 29. Pasta dish with mushroom, truffles was returned. Pasta totally dry and wide noodle sat in clumps. Dish was replaced by Poke Bowl with shrimp, which was clearly from a box and inferior to equivalent type of frozen PC shrimp. Another persons fish and chips featured frozen french fries. I sampled the shrimp and had my own salmon entree with fingerling potatoes. Tasted fine but 45 mins later i was vomitting in the bathroom. Not fine dining.
The food was good but portions were small. Servers were polite and kind but service was very disjointed. It took us a long time to get from course to course, which could have been solved with consistent service and better time management. We also ran out of water multiple times, which indicated the servers weren t coming around often to check on our party of 8. I d come back for the tofu poke bowl but nothing else.
Great food and service
Updated: after the initial experience, we were asked to return and give them another try. My husband and I came solo this time and I have to say it was an entirely different experience. The service was phenomenal, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful time. Not sure what resulted in such an opposite experience a week apart but we do appreciate a better visit. Original review: For YEARS I came here every year with my family for mothers day (since it first opened) and many other celebrations. Several family members who used to come with us have since passed but we wanted to continue the tradition with my own 3 kids now since COVID started. Unfortunately we were very disappointed tonight and I hate to say it as we loved coming here for many year. My kids meals were brought to the table 40 minutes before my husband and I (we had to ask where they were) and by the time our meals came my 3 young kids started becoming restless. The kids loved their meals (Pizza and butter pasta). Unfortunately I ordered the mothers day salad which had no taste whatsoever- I could not eat the pita that came inside as it was incredibly hard. We will not be coming back- its really too bad as this had become a tradition for our family. I hope others have a way better experience.
I recently visited Oliver and Bonacini Cafe and Grill on a weekday afternoon around 12:15 PM with my work colleagues. It was a special event for us as we were on a series of store tours for our company. Despite reserving only a day before, the restaurant graciously hosted our group of 14 people. We decided to try their pizza and pasta, and we were not disappointed. The flavors were delightful, and the dishes were prepared with finesse. Personally, I ordered the BBQ beef brisket pizza, and it was excellent each bite bursting with savory goodness. The wait staff at Oliver and Bonacini Cafe and Grill were patient and attentive. They took our orders promptly and efficiently, ensuring that everyones preferences were met. What impressed me even more was their ability to serve us within an hour, allowing us to resume our tour without any delays. Their efficiency was remarkable. Not only were the staff efficient, but they were also incredibly friendly. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making us feel valued and ensuring we had an excellent experience. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Overall, I highly recommend Oliver and Bonacini Cafe and Grill for their delicious food, attentive service, and warm hospitality. Whether its a casual lunch or a special event like ours, they have what it takes to make your dining experience memorable.
Our first time there and we enjoyed the pizza.
Last minute decision to have dinner with my mom. Her Caesar salad was very small and chicken was overcooked. My steak was fatty and chewy. I was not expecting that for the prices they charge.
Enjoyed the salmon and wedge salad which was quite huge! Nice place to meet with friends
I will preface my review that I visited this restaurant 6 years ago and thought it was amazing. Returned for a family dinner and was completely disappointed. Food was overpriced for quality.
Went there June 17, 2023 for a 50th Birthday dinner, the appetizers were ok, we had polenta fries and grilled calamari. What was really disappointing were the entrees especially the bone in rib eye, paper thin and over cooked. I had the pasta which was very dry and tasteless. Salmon came out raw but they rectified the order and was the best main of the night. We were a large party and had made rsvps but it seemed the chefs were rushed or inexperienced. Our server was attentive and amazing!! The desserts were the star of the night. Would we go back, highly unlikely. We had high expectations because of the name and sorely disappointed
We had a very negative experience. We came as a family for Father s Day brunch. No one would come to take our order and we just sat there with our menus closed watching servers dismissively walk by. Our server was nowhere in sight. Eventually the host came over and took our order and the food took an extremely long time to arrive. We even called our server again to ask about the food and she said the kitchen was busy. We spent the first hour of our visit just sitting and waiting. The food was below average. Cappuccinos were tiny and were mostly foam. You can get a better cappuccino at Starbucks. One of us ordered The Full Bayview breakfast which has 3 eggs (that s what is stated in the menu) and yet the plate came with 2 eggs. We also ordered Shakshuka, which was very spicy and just not good. Since it was Fathers Day - we also wanted to order dessert. But at that point, the service was so slow and the food was so bad that we decided to just pay and go. We left with a feeling that we couldn t wait to go and have another meal that would be satisfying. Do not recommend.
Ive been to the Bayview Village location a few times precovid and have always enjoyed the food. This visit was disappointing. Taking our orders took a long time, getting our food took a very long time, fish and chips was cafeteria grade, burger buns were burnt, beef tasted frozen and had no flavour, drinks were watered down... The food was really not the standard of what O&b once held. The server was great. He had great customer service and was attentive to all his many tables.
Typical O&B, if youve been to one youve been to them all. Good service and good food, but pricey for what you get.
I ordered x2 8OZ COULOTTE STEAKS with scallion whipped potatoes and Caesar salad for takeout. What I got was x2 8OZ COULOTTE STEAKS (which would barely pass as an 8oz steak) and some over cooked zucchini. No scallion whipped potatoes or Caesar salad. Was not worth the drive back and not worth calling to complain as the staff there most likely wouldn t have cared anyway. I would compare my meal to what you would find at any Longos hot table. Would not order from here again and would definitely not recommend
Had a lovely lunch here. Good service and good food. The carrot cake lives up to its billing!
The price does not match the experience. Avoid if you have food allergies as there is miscommunication within the kitchen and lack of awareness regarding ingredients in meals. I am allergic to sesame seeds and sesame oil. It was only after confirming for the 3rd time the safety of the dish, it was made aware that the poke bowl did in fact have sesame oil in multiple components of the dish.
Perfect place to meet up with good friends for brunch on the day following our daughter-in-law and sons wedding in Midtown Toronto.
OLIVER AND BONACINIS IS ALWAYS A FANTASTIC RESTO TO VISIT ESPECIALLY AT BAYVIEW VILLIAGE! I CAN ALWAYS FIND A RESERVATION, THE STAFF IS ADEQUATE EVEN DURING A DIFFICULT TIME IN CUSTOMER SERVICE =COVID-19 AND THE FOOD IS ONE OF THE BEST FOR ITALIAN FOOD IN THE CITY! ITS ALWAYS FRESH, UNIQUE AND I LOVE ALL THE QUALITY AND OPTIONS FOR APPETIZERS AND DESSERT! I PREFER THE PIZZAS TO MOST IN THE CITY AND LOVE DIAVOLA IF YOURE IN THE MOOD FOR MEAT AND ANY AND ALL THE PASTA IS ALWAYS FRESH! THUMBS UP AL AROUND! JG
Had their cheese burger today. It was nothing fancy but good.
I struggle to give more than 1 Star! We called for a late reservation at 8:30 the Hostess advised that we had to order by 9:15 which we accepted. At 8:45 the waiter said that the kitchen is closing soon, and he rushed us and took our order. We ordered calamari Appetizer for $20 we got 2 small calamari some vegetable, and no Bread. Upon asking the waiter refused to bring us bread, unless we ordered the bread from menu?! (like ordering dip without cracker). The pizza was horrible, it was burned underneath and very chewy! Extremely disappointed!
The place was inappropriate, the service was very, very bad, the food was cold (soup), and the manager was not professional. Unfortunately, I wasted my money on such a place.
Delicious! But the tables are quite close together.
Usually go to the location at yonge and front, havent been to Bayview village since before covid, was really disappointed. The grilled squid in the brown butter sauce was just butter and salt and over cooked zucchini. The chocolate cake is great, the strawberry shortcake and vegan ice cream from the aummerlicous menu were 2 of the worst things we have eaten in the last decade. Really, they were that bad. The vegan oat ice cream tasted like it was made with really stale oats. So bad. Soba stir fry was good, as was the tuna, but like I said disappointed in comparison to other locations.
Tried their 3-course lunch menu. The cod from main course was good. Fried zucchini from appetizer was surprisingly delicious.
Normally, we have had very good food and service at O&B Bayview. Last night was awful We went for Summerlicious. Ordered zucchini fries, which were tasty, but it went downhill from there. The main course was tuna steaks, which were supposed to be seared on the outside, and rare on the inside. Everything on the plate was ice cold! The tuna fillets were tough around the edges, with a rare middle, but they did not seem seared at all. They seemed microwaved. The bottom of the dish was warm, but the food ice cold. We asked if the kitchen could warm them up, and received slightly warmer food. The dessert we ordered was the chocolate banana cake, and coffee. The coffees came first, but the cake did not arrive for a long time. We finished the coffees while waiting for the cake, so we asked for a refill. The waiter refilled our coffee cups, but the coffee was cold!! We had to ask another waiter to bring us hot coffee. The dessert was nothing special. The cake did not have much taste, and seemed overly-floured. The banana sauce on the cake was cold. It would have been so much better if the sauce was warm, and the cake fresh. It took a while to get the bill. Needless to say, it was the first time not leaving a tip. Very disappointing. What has happened, O&B, to your food and service?
Service was good, tried the summerlicious menu for the 1st time. Since I cant have dairy, there are not many options. Had zucchini fries as appetizer, pretty good. Vegan rigatoni bolognese was okay... Needed more sauce and it got cold very fast. Since there is not enough sauce and the beans are making it more mushy and dry, it could be better. Was very looking forward to the vegan sundae, since it is an oat base and I never tried this before, it has a unique taste and almost like an icy slushie. Overall, food was okay and the interior of the restaurant is pretty nice.
Cod fish dish was excellent, fish and chips was mediocre, zucchini fries - they didnt bother to dehydrate the zucchini, so it was extremely watery inside . The panko crust did not adhere to the wet zucchini at all , so it slipped out of the curst like a wet fish. Bottom line - it was great disappointment. Service was good, our server Ali was curtious friendly and helpful.
Haven t visited this restaurant for many years (like at least 5 years..) so visited again for a few weeks ago for a quick byte while in the area The waiter seems doesn t know what he is suppose to do or when to come to serve you. Hardly show up to see how things are going or refilling water etc. the waiter is polite when he is around Food was not great unfortunately, the Caesar salad feels like the same quality I would get from HK style Cafe which I sometimes can get as complementary as part of a meal.. the crouton is huge and hard used a lot in the two salad I ordered.. the plating, not great , u can be the judge from the pic not worth the asking price. I really wanted to give it a 2 stars overall but it used to be good so hoping this visit is a glitch.
Came here for a work dinner and it was great. Had the cheese ravioli for the main and it was delicious! We tried a bunch of the apps and the zucchini was amazing. We shared the carrot cake for desert and it was so moist and fresh. Service was quick even though we had a larger group. Food
Service is great, atmosphere is pleasant with just the right amount of energy. Food was decent, thought the drink portions were a bit on the small side but still very tasty.
Came here for summerlicious and had their lunch menu, subpar experience in general with the food. Very underwhelming, uninspiring a la carte menu. The food isnt horrible I just wouldnt pay for it, I could probably make the same quality food at home, if not better. Service was OK. Did wait for quite a while for them to serve the dessert. I ordered the strawberry shortcake which was part of the summerlicious menu - Just not good. Shortcake wasnt moist, and seem like some poor quality prepackaged store bought shortcake. All in all I would not return.
Come here just for summerlicious!
The service is extremely slow. We had to wait for every single need, and often we had to call to be considered. It took so long that it distracyedvme from the good food that is served.
Food service were ok ok
Excellent service and very good food Kid-friendliness: Very good menu with many choices Food : 5/5 |
Loved it!
I had a terrible experience this last time I came, the communication with the server was just poor on his end. We were ready to place the order but the server would not come and he was at the next table we were sitting talking to the customers. We were also refused to be served with a desert because it was too late and it was his responsibility to let us know before the deadline. We had ordered a lot of food but were refused to be served with more alcohol which I think was the responsibility of the server to let us know that we may not be able to order more alcohol. We were told about this after 20 minutes of ordering that drink. The worst part of it was that the server was not even apologetic about his service and what happened. We had to go to another place for our desert.
Its alright. My outing was really nice, seeing relatives I havent seen in years. The cream of broccoli soup was very good, but the pizza was pretty oily. The volume was also extremely loud, I could hardly hear our waitress over all of the noise. Other than that, I was satisfied. Dietary restrictions: A number of vegetarian options are available.
Pizza was very poor. Dough and crust were tough to cut. Flavour was poor.
Very poor service. No apologies for getting our order wrong twice on the same item. I asked before ordering and they still got it wrong. Service used to be much better. We had to get up from our table and look for our server if we needed anything. Don t order steak. They don t know what medium rare is even when you specify what you want.
This restaurant has really gone downhill!! Terrible service and the food is mediocre!! Warning the Belgian banana waffle is disgusting.
We came here for lunch. The place was so noisy, May be it is how the restaurant was designed.
Good food.
Been here many times over the years. Consistently good food and service.
I showed up without a reservation, but they let me in. It was smooth, delicious, and full of volume. I think its a reasonable shop because the prices are reasonable, but I guess its up to the person to decide whether the taste is proportionate.
Had the special for lunch. The fish was old and overcooked. The chickpea sauce was just a bunch of slop. I felt so sick after even though I only ate bits of the fish. I will never go back.
The definition of pomodoro: Pomodoro means tomato in Italian, and thats exactly what this is a fresh tomato sauce. OB doesn t offer fresh pomodoro but they dare to call it that. Instead they use a canned sauce they interchange as a pizza sauce. Pomodoro is made from fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil. The chef served an over-salted canned sauce - how pathetic. This place has really gone down hill.
We went for lunch. Atmosphere was a bit loud for us. Otherwise good. Service was good but our friends got pasta and then pizza that was too salty. The sauce was very salty on both items. It sort of ruined the meal. Certainly for them unfortunately.
decent food (meh)
Ive been here twice in the last month, and the service is great . This place deserves a higher rating. Shout out to the chefs. the first time I ordered steak that turned out to be rare , rather than medium rare, but I still ate it, and it tasted awesome. The second time was steak and eggs, and that got my toes curling. I dont get why some reviews are so critical. Cant satisfy all tastes , keep cooking
Steak was tough to cut.
I like pasta, and taste very good. It s not bad to have a lunch there
We went during the Winter/Summerlicious event and ordered from that menu. We ordered two different prix fixe meals and we both were disappointed. I got what was basically a slab of dry ham with almost no sauce. We also got super runny pea soup. The price was fine since it was Winter/Summerlicious pricing but I would had felt ripped off if the regular priced items were of similar quality.
Review for takeout: The cheddar burger is one of the best in town! Absolutely delicious! Juicy and thick, with pickle, lettuce, tomato and tasty sauce.
Salad was great. The spaghetti and meatballs had a lot of oil in the sauce. I took extras home and their box leaked inside a new purse.
Pretty good, lamb burger could ve been juicier but I ll still give it 5 stars overall.
Everything was fine. The restaurant, service etc. my only issue is being charged for the tiny piece of cake for my friends bday in the picture. Why ask if someone s celebrating a bday when you get charged $15.
So I thought that after a couple of times being here I d eventually enjoy their menu not impressed today I regretfully came to this location hungry again and decided to order their salmon. WHAT a HUGE MISTAKE I don t know who thinks this dish tastes good but FYI it doesn t even my partner gave it back to me wondering who put this on the menu. Like I get that your a corporation now and there s little originality left in your menu but really this dish was a joke
Great service, excellent food nice ambiance
Beautiful space with really good options for brunch.
L food L service, wouldn t pay $20 for that steak
Everything was awesome. Will be back soon.
The worst experience yet food was ordered there was a group of 10 people for a birthday dinner food was not satisfactory. My sister asked for a recommendation on the menu. The manager responded he recommends we go to the restaurant across the street. The manager needs some cultural and training and respect. Not the O&B I used to know. Wow!
Worst steak I have ever had in my life and the man in the table across from me said the same thing. Severely overcooked polleta fries. Impossible to get a drink. Mac and Cheese comes with peas which isnt mentioned on the menu. Steak came without a knife. Roasted vegetables were completely tasteless. How this place has over 3 stars is far beyond me.
We got our starter and main meal before our drinks, just a simple coke, arrived which we had to ask for. Ordered the Mac and cheese and it came loaded with peas which is does not advertise as part of the dish, not fun to pick peas out of a pasta. Partner ordered steak and they didn t bother to bring a steak knife, and the steak was very over cooked. Would advise not to eat here, not worth the money.
Had a business lunch here, and service was excellent. Our server Aleksandra was fantastic! She came by enough but didnt interrupt too much. Atmosphere is lively, but was not too loud for a meeting. We had a 4 person table for 2 which was nice because it was comfortable and allowed for a bit more privacy. Plenty of free parking at the mall. Food was very good and overall we were both happy with the meal and service.
Good service , food was ok too
Wonderful experience. Hands down a great birthday dinner location. I recommend to anyone looking to celebrate special events. Kid-friendliness: They have crayons and drawing paper with a picture kids can color.
We had stopped over for a quick sweet treat and wasn t disappointed. The warm, creamy cheesecake, wrapped in flaky, golden phyllo, was a match made in heaven. And the strawberry and rhubarb compote added the perfect balance of sweet-tart goodness. This dessert is the definition of indulgence, and it absolutely hit the sweet spot! A must-try for cheesecake lovers everywhere!
Bad cook for beef steak
I had the smoked chicken rigatoni. It was delicious. The food was brought to us swiftly. The server was super polite and always kept the water full. The restaurant was clean. I like to judge restaurants by their bathrooms and this one was very clean.
Wait staff were not very attentive. Maybe short-staffed?
Overpriced mediocre entries and and slow service.
We went for brunch as a group of 5 last weekend and we all were super frustrated with the quality of service and food. The server got 3 of our orders wrong, we had to ask multiple times for coffee and water refill. And worst of all all their glasses had an awful eggy smell. Food
Seamless teamwork when it comes to service... whoever is nearby is helpful. Food & drink - its O&B! Service - Thats the fabulous staff. Thanks to all!
The other restaurants of O&B are lot better, maybe the quality wasnt this great because there was a private event/group at the same time than us....
Great location. Menu could be refreshed Food : 4/5
Amazing! Good memories here last night was super special. A big thanks to John, Shab, Michael and the ladies that help around our table. Great staff!
Service was great the liver was excellent
Wonderful food, the server was fantastic.
Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible Food
It was my first time at this restaurant, and it was so welcoming, and the meal was delicious.
