Oretta King West in Toronto

Bought a $10 gift card and it never worked. They sold us the gift card before their new system came into effect. We tried to use it but it s a new system and we don t know how to redeem it . We came back a month later and now the card is empty? Why sell a gift card before changing systems? Just keep the $10 you scammers.

I live out of town and was downtown looking for some Italian food. I initially wanted to go to a restaurant just a street over, but they had closed the kitchen early, so we didn t end up going there. I then searched for the closest options and discovered Oretta. I m so glad I did! The food was incredible. My family and I ordered the margherita pizza and truffle ravioli, and it was honestly the best I ve ever had! The ravioli was bursting with flavor, and the truffle really elevated the dish. They even had a tin of chili oil for the pizza that was perfectly balanced not too spicy, just right. I had such a great experience and would definitely recommend everyone to visit!

We had a nice meal as a group of 5. Everyone ordered a pasta dish and they enjoyed it. I had the Ravioli which were excellent. Someone had the tortellini which was good but nothing too special. Another person at the table ordered the pasta with pecorino cheese which was prepared in front of the table. The restaurant is very nice inside, the atmosphere is great.

I thought I liked this place, but my last experience was quite subpar and disappointing. I called ahead of time - spoke with the hostess that we were celebrating our friends engagement and if they could do a little something special and that it will be split bills and if this info could be relayed to our waiter. She advised that they can put a sparkler in a dessert and the split bills wouldnt be an issue. Perfect! Once seated and ready to order, our waitress didnt care to acknowledge our celebration (despite there being balloons), which I thought was kind of lame. Near the end of our dinner, I expected that they would have remembered to bring out the dessert with the sparkler, but nope...nothing. When it came time to pay, the waitress said they can only split our table of 11 into two or in one full bill, which is something the hostess should have verified with first prior to confirming that split bills would be fine. NBD, we paid in one. Oh and they also added an 18% auto gratuity AFTER taxes...which isnt quite right, but Ill let that slide. Food wise, it was alright but nothing noteworthy, esp at that price point.

We had the most incredible dining experience at Oretta From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and attentiveness. The customer service was absolutely top-notch, making us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the entire evening. The food was phenomena , every dish was perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their craft. A special shoutout to Jenna T., who was our waitress. She went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable. Jenna was attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations. Her positive energy truly enhanced our experience. Highly recommend this place if you re looking for amazing food and outstanding.

The service was really bad, the host girls were so rude and the food was really quality this time. I went a couple of times to this restaurant and the service and food was way better before.

One of our party of 8 made a reservation for 2.45pm yesterday (Sunday). When we arrived, we were informed by the host that the kitchen would be closing at 3.pm. The service was very good and the meal progressed as it should. At some point, the lights in the restaurant were turned off or at least dimmed. That obviously was a signal for us to leave. Please dont allow customers to make reservations so close to closing time. We were there to relax and have a nice meal and were unaware of your opening times.

I took my ultra Italian, Sicilian parents to this place for a birthday celebration and they didnt stop bringing it up for like, a week. Do yourself a favour and make a reservation because this place does get super busy. We got lucky on a Saturday night waiting for a table at the bar. Our server was SO much fun and gave us the run down on all the menu items, his favourites etc. We got the Ibisco drinks which were PINK with flowers, bolognese, calamari, cardinale pizza and vodka pasta which were all 10/10. Only complaint is the pasta arrived at our table a bit cold. Other than that everything was great. Great atmosphere for your ig pics and the drinks are so aesthetic. Will definitely be back.

Been a few times and service is hit or miss. Hostesses are always confused, servers have random large areas and even though there are lots of them they are hard to track down. Server got my friend s order wrong about 5 times and he was patient. I asked for ketchup for my fries and the reply was, we don t serve ketchup. Come on guys, we ain t in Europe at a Michelin restaurant, it s Canada, King West. Overall, basic same old Italian menu. Nice patio in the summer.

I don t recommend coming here for brunch. The only thing that was decent was their French toast and berries. Their eggs and focaccia bread was okay but not worth the price. I asked for avocado on the side and they said they won t able to do that which didn t make sense because they had their smashed avocado in other dishes? I never got refused a small adjustment to my dish at any restaurant. One of my friends ordered an avocado toast with boiled eggs and the waitress asked if she will like it soft or hard. my friend said she will like it medium and the waitress said she cant do medium she has to choose either soft or hard eggs. It was very odd they couldnt make her eggs medium it did not make sense at all. We picked a whole other dish with avocado and salmon and it was very salty she could not even finish it. Lastly, my other friend got a Yogurt Muesli and it tasted like it came straight from the animal no exaggeration. I could not believe the yogurt was not good as well. Maybe the dinner and lunch options are better but I would not come here again. too expensive for the portions and none of us finished our food because it was not good.

36$ for ravioli floating in oil , no thanks

I came here for dinner and I got a suspicious looking meal, looked like spaghetti Os that came out of a can from their happy hour menu ($15) I cant remember the name because it was Italian but not even 20-30 mins after eating it I got such a terrible stomach ache, which lead to something explosive. I will never eat here again, I am traumatized. I have a very strong stomach, rarely do things make me sick but this made me so incredibly ill. I was sweating and everything, I thought I would throw up too. I know it sounds like Im being dramatic but Im not, these are all incredibly accurate depictions of what I went through. My friend was shocked because she has never seen me get ill from food. There were 3 red flags I shouldve clocked, 1. The utensils were just on the table, no napkin or anything, the menu was falling apart on the inside and the little lamps they have on the table were broken and cracked.

A fancy restaurant for an unpleasant dinner. I went last Friday for dinner to celebrate my friends birthday and would never go back. The food is horrible: soggy and salty pizza, plain pasta, tasteless lasagna. I wonder how they manage to make such horrible (yet expensive) food. The service was also very slow.

Host was distracted at the bar when I arrived. Server was very nice but I think she had too many tables. Service was very slow. No water for 30 minutes. Poured my own wine every time. Food was okay. Pizza dough is not good.

Very cute Italian trattoria with unique brunch options. We went with the arancini and the baked potato with mortadella and pistachio. We finished with the French toast which was one of the best we ever had. Definitely would go back, reservations are strongly encouraged! Vegetarian options: Has some vegetarian options available. Pricey pasta but tasted amazing! We made a reservation for two people at 5pm. Service was great and our server was very friendly! We ordered and shared the Cacio Pepe, Branzino, and the Ravioli for our entrees. Cacio Pepe was made al denté which I liked and found very unique, along with the creaminess and great taste. Portion was slightly small but I would still order it again. It was also pretty cool that they finished it off in front of us by cooking it in a big cheese wheel prior to serving it to us. The ravioli was also just as great! The filling and pieces of truffle on top made the pasta taste very unique. I would also order it again. Branzino tasted good but wasnt outstanding since I had better. I wouldnt order it again and would rather order something else. Also, for dessert we got the tiramisu which they made their own modern twist to it. It was pretty much an espresso gelato with pieces of cake on it. Very yummy and perfect for finishing the experience! Overall very romantic ambiance with very yummy food!

We went in for happy hour. Served by Naz and we loved her. Literally perfect service. She was attentive without being too much. We had a great conversation with her before heading out. Perfect way to kick off our night. The food and drinks were also delish and prompt. We had a movie to catch and we were in and out with time to spare. We will def be in again. Thanks Naz!!!

The food was very below average and the portions were too bad for a 30$ dish. It is extremely overpriced just because of the ambience which is also not something unique.

The location is really pretty and the upstairs is so nice to sit, but I was on the main floor inside. Decent menu, I must say not many vegan options really but food was ok it is more on the $$$ end! Vegetarian options: Not too many options, eggplant parm is one

This was a huge disappointment for my friend and I. Were both have been wanting to dine at Oretta. Will never come back again. First off, we were told there were not enough food menus, so we had to wait for a food menu even after being seated. The service was poor, it almost felt like they were short staffed and it took a while for a waiter to come towards our table. The food was extremely bland and room temperature.

I went couple days ago with my boyfriend and we were having really high expectations based on what were we told about this place. Food taste was really disappointing, it felt just like a basic and plain pasta, not even salt on my dish (it was pasta + Alfredo sauce). Nothing special in particular and really overpriced. Just the chicken was ok. Service to the table regular as well, not happy with this experience! Don t recommend it at all! Sadly

A great place for a night out. They have a beautiful ambiance. They do have halal options including chicken and beef. Overall vibe is great. We highly recommend the buttery Alfredo pasta and Spaghetti.

Great vibe, disappointing dishes. Ordered the veal (saltimbocca di vitello) which was tough, chewy and didnt taste good at all. Pasta was really dente, more than normal. Id call it blanched. Bruschetta should also never be topped with strawberries! Im giving them a 2 star cause it was some of the best calamari Ive ever had in my life.

To start with, very good and sympathetic waiter! The restaurant is busy and cozy, so it can be noisy. However, the food was quite a disappointment. The starter includes facaccia drenched in oil and fried calamari with little taste. Main sirloin that was dried out and not medium rare with no sauce etc and just very fatty shortening with potato. Dessert similarly disappointing. Too bad...there are better Italians in Toronto

We went to celebrate a birthday, we ordered 2 pasta Alfredo and tasted awful, we told to the server and she was rude. After that we changed the plate for a lasagna and they brought only one when in supposed to be 2, they charged us for the plates that we didn t eat.

Food: not for people who has gluten & lactose intolerance. Waiter mentioned there is cross contamination. When food arrived it was very small plate for something g that $34.07. The plate was the size of two smart phones beside each other. Also I had calamari and it was super salty Service: Waiter was some what attentive and provided me with options that may not contain gluten. I also mentioned lactose intolerance. When food arrive it has cheese. I also ordered mimosa and it never came even after I inquired. The price of food was unjustifiable for the size and taste. Atmosphere: the aesthetics is beautiful. But the atmosphere felt more like a fast food restaurants, than a fast foor restaurant it self. I would not recommend this spot at all for meals more for snacks and drinks.

Food is always great but Im really here to leave a review for Emre our server. He was soooooo accommodating!!! I was eating with a very picky friend who made lots of random requests regarding the food and Emre went above and beyond to accomodate him. He was super professional and friendly and really added to the experience

Mediocre for the price

When I tell you guys that this is the most fantastic place to munch, Im saying the truth. The food was bomb and the drinks were good and the customer service was good. They can make any pasta gluten-free for you and can make any type of coffee or tea for you. That tiramisu circular pastry was also delicious. You could taste the coffee and the cream was great and the bread was flaky. The yoghurt meusli was light and fluffy and nutritious as well. The interior design was cool too.

I went there for my birthday dinner. Absolutely bad experience . Start with good greeting from manager or someones was available on the floor. Got the seat I was looking for. After that everything was annoying. Server was not up to the mark. I ask for recommendations and was trying to discuss menu. The answers were too straightforward and not detailed. Unlike other famous Italian restaurants in Toronto, Server was not helping me to choose or make my experience memorable. All the service like whatever we does not care about your special day. Just eat and go. So service was 2/10. Next I order Tiramisu martini- which was fairly good and Gradevole: was extremely sweet and kind of bitter and sweet thick cotton candy syrup. Next we order Piemonte in pizza : when pizza came on my table not to hot just slightly warm. Pizza dough was fairly chewy so it was hard to chew might be because of was not hot enough. Then I order vodka pizza: crust was little better than the previous one but not so out of the world but nice. This time I mentioned please give my pizza immediate so I can eat nice and hot. No special moments and over rated on internet they should really focus on customer experience to get good reviews. I hope this review will reach to owner and might they can change or focus on their customer service. Unlikely bad experience ruïne my Special day.

Overpriced - paying for ambience - great desserts!

The pizza was great. The polenta fries had zero flavour and the croquette was bizarre - did not taste like high quality Italian but more like some chopped up overcooked noodles in a dish you d find at the CNE.

The overall experience was subpar. I had the lasagna which was bland. The other items that the people at my table ordered looked ok. The service was pretty bad. Once we walked in there was a staff member we greeted seemed lost and didn t know what to do when we said hi. The waitress was friendly but was slow to take our order and didn t check on us at all during the meal. I would have liked to request pepper but she was no where to be found. There were several waiters and only 8 tables or so in total so I m not sure what they were busy with.

We hosted our delegation dinner at this restaurant and it was the most amazing experience! Pretty disappointed with our trip to Oretta this evening. Have visited a couple times in the past but tonight, service was super slow and food was lukewarm and only average. My party would have had at least 1 extra drink each (probably more) but we weren t asked. Each time, we had to flag down our server. Great spot when service is on point and sun is shining but unfortunately, probably won t return.

We booked a private dining room to celebrate a recent engagement. The service and food were wonderful. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time. Thank you Annie and team for all your hard work, and for giving us an opportunity to relax and connect over some great food (and wine!).

My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary and we had Alyssa as a server and she truly made our night! She was kind, funny, and very attentive!

Amazing gluten free options!!

Have had pretty good experiences here before, however today the service was awful. Waited about 10-15 minutes for both our rounds of drinks and server never even quality checked our food. She left our dirty plates in front or us for another 15 minutes. Not to mention we couldn t even get the French toast that we came here specifically for as they told us they were out of the ingredients for it. We asked for our bills which took 10 minutes to be delivered, and then it took another 15 minutes for her to come over with the machine. I understand being busy but the order in which tasks were being performed in our section made no sense for efficiency. When we paid our bills she tried to blame the slow service on her breaking her ankle.

We went to Oretta to celebrate my friend s birthday. We tried the cavateli and the pizzas and they were great. Our server Aisha was even greater. She gave us an extremely good service. We ll be back for sure

Great atmosphere and okay food, although a bit overpriced in my opinion, but what can you expect from such a flashy restaurant in the heart of downtown! Service is also okay. Some of the servers are a little awkward. I got the French toast and my girlfriend got the scrambled eggs with burrata. Both, overall okay but there are places in this city where you can get exponentially better food for a fraction of the price. Would I return? Of course. Not only for the food but the atmosphere too. Their menu seemed interesting enough for a second visit, especially the dinner service.

Considering the area of this restaurant it s very reasonable priced. Got the personal size pepperoni pizza for takeout and it was very very good. At 12 dollars for a higher class pizza, I mean you can t go wrong considering a bad personal pizza at Boston pizza is 16.

I want to know why people give this place such high reviews. The dishes here are just not up to high end restaurants. Bland tasting food We ordered the calamari which was really good hence why I even bothered to give a 2 star We got our mains I ordered the steak. I asked for medium rare the steak was literally not cooked. My knife kept slipping like it was raw meat I was cutting . I asked for them to remake the steak and this time it came fully cooked The two pasta we also got was so mediocre. Barely any vibrant flavours.. the pizza was also average. It wasn t bad. I would say out of all the dishes we got that one was the best if I had to choose. The potato wedges WERE SO DRY and a tad bit on the uncooked side even though it looked crisp and brown. Not worth the money spent there literally expensive food but no quality good food and very bland flavours.

Gorgeous atmosphere and a menu to match. Came here for dinner and it has the be the most perfect spot for a girls night. Chic ambiance and low lighting really do set a lovely mood for the evening. Had to order the Lavanda mocktail after its quite particular description on the menu! Was it good? I d say so, tasted very much like lavender infused iced tea, but I would be disappointed if it truly is their best drink. We started with the Caesar salad. Classic appetizer but somehow I ve never had anything like this one. Very creamy and loaded with parmesan. The flavour of anchovies was very distinct, along with red wine vinegar. If you don t like these two ingredients, you won t like this salad! Thankfully, I found the flavours to be impactful and make a very common salad stand out. Bravo! On the the pasta the rapini and sausage pasta was very good! Fresh and flavourful, everything I could ve asked for. What stood out the most was the choice of pasta shape. Great decision making in the kitchen, it really elevated the dish to the next level. Overall a wonderfully unique experience that does not fade in to the background of the Toronto food scene!

When friends suggested going here, I wasnt enthusiastic, as I saw it as all style and no substance King West restaurant for 905ers. I was completely wrong. Well, except for the constant wannabe influencer photo shoots... Nevertheless, the food was very good. Is the menu revolutionary? No. Can you find a lot of the items in other Toronto Italian restaurants? For sure. However, everything was well-made, with decent portion sizes. I had the lasagna bianca, which was high quality and flavourful. My friends ordered various pizzas, all well-made. We also split four appetizers: the focaccia (decent, but could have been softer), the meatballs (excellent), the arancini (very tasty), and calamari (so-so). The restaurant interior is also very well laid out and designed. Fresh and modern. For a half-full restaurant, the service could have been a little more attentive, but our server was still friendly and professional. If youre looking for a restaurant that does standards well, in a nice atmosphere, with fair prices, I recommend. For drinks and food, the bill was just under $80 per person, without tip.

The food is just so underwhelming

Came for their happy hour deal between 4-7pm. Very cute interior I love the pink theme everywhere. The restaurant was more busy than we thought but thankfully we managed to grab a seat. I would recommend making a reservation for parties larger than 4. The portions are smaller than you might expect so I recommend getting at least two items. The happy hour menu ranges from $6-$12 and I m quite happy that I was able to try multiple things. Will be back again.

I was super excited about going, seen it all over social media about how great it was. It is very pretty inside but I will admit that the food was very underwhelming, it was just alright and nothing too great. Portions are also pretty small especially when coming to the prices. Service was also just alright. Overall I feel that it is very overrated which was a little upsetting.

The place was good, the food was good and prices for the Happy Hour very reasonable. We had reservation for 3 tables and were 14 people. They had a very difficult time and the first waiter was very confused. There was one that was good, he recommended food and dring. Overall a good experience. You should go for the Happy Hour.

It s always a good time coming to Oretta, especially with Olivia. She is an amazing waitress, so pleasant, lovely and kind, with exceptional customer service. This is my second time here and Olivia makes the experience 10x s better.

The food was great, and the hostess was the sweetest! Our server Artem was extremely friendly and efficient while being able to keep a thoughtful conversation going :) It was overall a 10 out of 10 despite the manger interrupting & cutting off our conversation with our server twice. This is one of favourite places on King West. A truly great Italian restaurant that prepares its food with a modern twist. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Vegetarian options: They will customize your pizza selection to make it meat free with great options, when you ask.

Came for Saturday brunch, was blown away by the service and quality of food. First off, there was a couple mix ups with our reservation, and it ended up getting pushed back 30 minutes. However not a big deal and the service and food made up for it. Had the bottomless mimosas and got French Toast, Calamari, and the Tiramisu and Pistachio Bombalone. All were absolutely amazing. We did sit outside on the patio which was great as it was a nice day. Our waitress was awesome, got us everything we needed, food came out really promptly. Service in general was awesome, always made sure our mimosas were full, making sure we had everything we needed, and just in general checking in on us. Will be back again, 100% recommend their brunch.

We hosted a 47 people wedding dinner party at Oretta on July 20th, and I initially held off posting my review until after I got a response from the management team regarding some of the issues I identified. Below is the email I sent with the pros & cons. I took away a star mainly due to the air conditioner issues & because I feel that the management team provided lip service back to us, versus a meaningful way to apologize for the mishaps. For anyone considering hosting an event in the Mezzanine - please make sure you have it in writing that the A/C is working properly and if not, that Oretta will offer solutions to this the day of. --------------- First of all, our hats are off to Kimberly, who was our event coordinator contact for the last 6 months. She has answered countless questions, documented our wishes and met up with us a few times to discuss all our concerns. It was a pleasure working with her! (Note for the readers, Kimberly wasnt present the day of the event, so this is something to consider. Youll most likely be working with other members of the event team) Secondly, the staff (Nancy, and I believe the dashing gentleman with a moustache, Daniel) on the day of the wedding dinner, were incredibly kind, courteous and took care of our entire party at the highest level. Our big compliments to the Oretta chef - food was fresh, flavourful, and all of our guests enjoyed everything immensely! Fried artichokes were a huge hit! Now I wanted to bring to your attention a few items that I found were lacking in some shape or form: - the biggest issue we had was the lack of proper air conditioning in the Mezzanine. When we arrived at 5pm on July 20, I immediately notified staff that its too warm and was told that they will lower the temperature and it will take a moment to cool off. However the room never cooled off. The thermostat was showing 26-27 degrees which is really not acceptable for a party of our size. All men were in suites, some ladies were long dresses. I noticed some guests had difficulty finishing their mains because it was just to warm. We mentioned this a number of times to staff but it was out of their control. The following day, July 21, we spoke with Paige & Rachel and it was clear they were aware the A/C wasnt functioning before the event started - my question is why were we not given the heads-up? There should have been fans set up around the room to help us cool off, but most importantly we as hosts of our party should have been given a warning at which point I would have asked Oretta to make sure we have alternatives set up to cool the room - the room set up wasnt finished by 5pm - we have provided instructions on where we want to set up the DJ set up for our DJ to use however the entire area was covered in storage boxes. I had to coordinate the removal of that. The welcome table area with easels for the welcome sign wasnt set up either - I have asked the staff to handle some of the decor I brought in the day before, with care, and suggested its left for me to handle on Saturday. The decor was still set up, not quite the way I wanted so I had to redo that while on site. - Second toilet upstairs was still broken - we were told it will be fixed by the day of the party - I spent more time setting up items than I planned, giving instructions we already provided earlier during planning stage - cutting into our planned photo time inside Oretta - we have asked Oretta to store the vendor cupcake tower, with a number of small cupcake boxes until Tuesday July 23, however all but 2 cupcake boxes were missing when my husband came to retrieve the tower and the boxes - the staff had no answer why things went missing. -----------

Great atmosphere, but mediocre and over priced food.

We booked Oretta King West to celebrate my daughters graduation for 2 pm. We were a party of 7 and when we arrived we waited 15 minute to get service. We ordered promptly. When the orders arrived we were really upset at the ridiculously small portions on the pasta dishes, especially the Rigatoni alla Carbonara which was priced at $25.00 and the 3 Cavatelli alla vodka priced at $25.00 each. I did not want to ruin my daughters special day and I paid the bill and a hefty added tip. This would have been a fine experience if the service was better and the portions were a larger. I paid way too much for the amount of food we received. I would not recommend this place as a place to eat and be satisfied. It has a nice atmosphere. Dont waste your time and money on this place if youre hungry as you will probably pick up something else when you leave the restaurant.

I ve been here multiple times for dinner and brunch and no complaints - highly recommend the chef s tasting experience, great value for money. The interior is decorated super cute and it s always clean.

Tasty food

the calamari was poor tasting and soggy. The octopus was delicious and nicely done, the chicken dish was just ok, nothing remarkable. Overall ok food but great service and ambience

Ordered from Orietta Cafe on Too Good to Go app. Got slightly lost trying to find the cafe. Its on the left side alleyway behind the restaurant. Arrived early and order was ready- was able to pick up and go pick up another surprise bag. Received One pistachio Bombalona, 2 Apricot Croissant and another croissant which I havent figured out yet. The Bombalona was messy but super rich with a lot of pistachio cream. Favorite so far are apricot croissants. Good value and will be back!

I had the branzino, and it was one of the best fish dishes Ive ever had. Theres no photo because it looked and smelled delicious when it landed on the table, and I didnt look up until my plate was clean.

When we arrived, there was no host to greet us, and we had to wait an unreasonably long time before anyone attended to us. We ordered two pasta dishes, but the taste was very bland and unimpressive. Additionally, we ordered a fruit platter, which was shockingly small in portion size and the fruit was not fresh, making it quite unappetizing. Despite our dining time being only about an hour, the waiter repeatedly rushed us to settle the bill, which was incredibly disrespectful. This dining experience was absolutely terrible. I rarely leave bad reviews for restaurants, but this experience was extremely disappointing and disrespectful. I will never return to this establishment and do not recommend it to anyone.

The staff and food at Oretta are exceptional. They made hosting our family and friends of 20 people a breeze and a delight. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The personal touches and attention that Paige provided in planning and Lauren provided in service where far beyond expectations. We will be back to dine and party in the future.

Came for a bachelorette brunch. The atmosphere is fitting so 5/5 there! Beautiful decor. We didn t book a private space but instead called to reserve a table nearer the back, with the flower/greenery ceiling. It had a little more privacy despite being darker (further away from the windows). Food wise it was good - portions are on the smaller side while the price is higher. Again you re kinda paying for the beautiful atmosphere so I wouldn t mind at all would definitely come back for special occasions such as this, or during happy hour or other discount times!

Great service but probably the worst vodka pasta i ve ever had. It was gritty and weird. The lasagna was so dry it was like eating a cake.

I discovered this gem of a restaurant for brunch in my neighbourhood, and it has quickly become a favorite. They offer a delightful variety of sweet and savoury dishes, all at reasonable prices. I thoroughly enjoyed their French toast, which was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. A new bad habit for sure...

The space was absolutely beautiful, and definitely the highlight. Unfortunately everything else was meh. Our server, started out lovely, but wasnt terribly attentive and forgot last of our order. When it arrived the food was ok, ON the bland side to be honest... that is except for the poached pear appetizer which was WONDERFUL...and the saving grace!

It was amazing, everything was nice except the service. The server was over friendly, talked too much and didn t deliver as per the expectations that he only set. The server was late in serving chili oil, he didn t cut the pizza slices as promised (in the first go) and it took him ages to get the pos machine that we decided to pay in cash. Having said all of this, I still believe this place has amazing food and ambiance and you should definitely visit, in fact I am going back again very soon. Vegetarian options: Good number of vegetarian options available

Service was superb as was the layout of the restaurant, but when it came to the essence of our experience - the food - it was a far cry from good. The pizzas were dry and couldnt be customised; the pasta was not too our liking, lacking flavour. Most shockingly, they had no garlic, even as a side to add onto the dish. Truly Italian!? Oretta is definitely over rated, not sure if we caught a bad day to visit but the pasta dishes were terrible but pizzas were great. The lamps on the table weren t working properly but it s a gorgeous restaurant and the ambience is definitely nice but unfortunately that was the best feature about our visit. Wasn t too impressed with service either but our server did her best on a day where they seemed to have been short staffed

Friends Visited for Summerlicious, but definitely wasnt worth the price for the service. Seems to be an overpriced cash grab. Experience wasnt terrible, but the actual quality/substance was lacking.

As intimate weddings become more of the norm in Toronto, Oretta has become a go to location for couples looking to combine incredible food and stylish decor for their special day. We cant say enough of how friendly and accommodating the staff is and their attention to ensuring everyone, including wedding vendors, are taken care of! They are super flexible and allow couples to use the multiple spaces for photos even on busy weekend nights. We love shooting intimate weddings here and look forward to the next time were back!

Horrible food. Burnt and horrible. Server was absolutely incredible and took some burnt things off the bill so 5/5 for that but would never return. Maybe for brunch but probably never Bad experience AGAIN: Ive never eaten such bland food Dry, bland octopus. Have tried this place a few times, mostly bad reviews from me. Really wouldnt recomend with such an inconsistency. Sometimes its ok. Sometimes I cant even eat the food from here its so awful. For such a nice and highly rated place like this, they should have a consistent menu. Its a different experience everytime I come. Dont want to come back because Im not sure what to expect and it isnt worth wasting my money.

Picked up a Too Good to Go pasty box and it did not disappoint. It included 3 different flavour of croissant- pistachio, almond and apricot. They were fresh and flavourful.

If you are looking for brunch, Burrata cheese pizza is baked in an oven and is thin and crispy. It was the perfect brunch meal with tomato sauce, light burrata cheese, and the scent of live basil. Among the pasta dishes, I saw a green pasta that looked unusual, so I ordered it and I remember it was the second pasta dish on the menu. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese on it too! Its savory, doesnt smell like pork, and the noodles are chewy. It tastes like a smuggling swallow? The server will order just by showing you a photo, so if you have trouble interpreting the menu, show them a photo of the menu. Seating on the patio is not recommended as there is a construction site nearby. Im curious because there are a lot of bad reviews about Happy Hour... Ill look at it and update later

Honestly this place is super duper overrated and very overpriced. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very aesthetics. You can tell this is a popular spot for a girls night out/occasion but the food was a let down personally. We tried the Polipo, Ravioli Al Tartufo and La Parma pizza. The Polipo (octopus) was very tender and tasted good but it was an extremely tiny portion of ONLY 2 pieces for $30 which is insane and not worth it at all (this was our waitresses recommendation btw). The La Parma pizza was done well but nothing note worthy. We were offered chilli oil to go along our meal and when the server brought it to us we were turned off by its appearance. The oil bottle itself looked disgusting and had dirt and residue on it. We don t think it should have been offered and served like that in the first place. It was so nasty looking that i put it on an empty table near us so I didnt have to look at it while we ate. The Ravioli had good flavour but was overly oily. Overall, I definitely wont be coming back again, the restaurant itself was beautiful but our food experience was no where near beautiful (quality, price and taste wise).

Came in here for dessert on our walk downtown. This place caught our eyes due to the decor on the patio. And the girls were wearing cute matching outfits! So glad we stopped because otherwise we would have missed out on a great experience. To start off, I really cannot stress enough how great the staff was here in particular Alejandra. She was an absolute doll. She helped us choose drinks and dessert and everything was delicious!! We had such a great experience that we are going back to try out the rest of their menu and I already know it s going to be great. Thank you soo much Alejandra for your recommendations!! This restaurant is so elegant and everything is so perfect there,and an amazing choice for date

Came for happy hour between 5-7pm - food selection is excellent, and the service was good. Drinks are also VERY cheap and good (please get the sangria!). We came without reservations on a Thursday, and again on Friday at 6-6:30pm. We did not have to wait too long for a table, that was also a plus!

Sad, sad, sad. Oretta has truly gone downhill over the last few years and it s so upsetting to see as this restaurant has so much potential. I was here with a friend for brunch a few Sundays ago and we were ignored as we stood by the host stand waiting to be acknowledged. When the host finally looked up, she grabbed two menus and quietly started walking towards the back of the restaurant. It was so awkward to follow her without a greeting or anything. Finally, she sat us down at the last table under that dark and small area with the fake flowers everywhere. It was so loud with the echo of a party of a few girls sitting next to us. We waited for exactly 8 minutes to be greeted by a server and nobody showed up so we left. Two saturdays after that I stopped by the cafe in the back for a sandwich that used to be my favourite in the area and it was disgusting. 2 pieces of spinach, bland cheese, dry bread and old prosciutto. I think it was like $15 for that? It s rude to charge people for garbage. Very sad.

Our server was nice, but we got a terrible seat and it was noticeably dirty on the walls around us - which was very distracting for the price you pay for the food.

Its okay. Another soulless shallow place on king Street. Is the food bad? No I cant say its bad but its mediocre for the price you pay. Theres just this air of snobbery that I dont really think this place deserves to have. Food is overpriced and the service is about level with any chain restaurant but they have this vibe like theyre too busy and important to be serving you. Its not on the level of medium fine dining that the prices suggest. Tables were quite dirty as well. Somewhere to grab some sitdown food before a night of clubbing but nothing special if youre after higher end food.

My most recent experience at Oretta was quite disappointing. I hadn t been here for brunch before, so thought I d give it a try, especially since past experiences at Oretta have always been so good. The food was quite bland, and only got some flavour after drizzling some Chili oil on top. It seemed that the scrambled eggs in the Uovo dish had no salt at all. It is sad when the side dish (focaccia) was the best part of the meal. Would not recommend brunch here (that being said, lunch/dinner have always been positive experiences) EDIT (June 13, 2024): Went for dinner with some friends; did not have a great experience. We were seated quickly, and were able to place our orders in a fairly reasonable time as well. However, the place was noisy, and it was quite difficult to hold a conversation easily - we were all speaking, louder than normal to make ourselves heard. Compared to my last visit, it seems that the menu has changed and a lot of the items that were previously available are not there anymore (such as risotto). The main course was all right, but needed some chilli oil to make it more palatable. The dessert was extremely disappointing. Whatever they sell as tiramisu is not even 10% close to what it should be like. It is a scoop of coffee gelato, covered with some cream and bits of cake. What was surprising was that it took over 20 minutes for us to receive an order of the tiramisu and cannoli. After about 15+ minutes of waiting, our server mentioned that the desserts were going to be coming soon. We could not fathom how it was taking so long. Overall, this was a very unsatisfactory meal, and would make me think twice before going back here.

For 100 dollars, 2 wines and a pizza to share i had much much higher expectations. The wine collection was good but didn t had some of the options even though on the menu. The margarita pizza, sauce was amazing, yet cheese was blend and cheap. Crust also left things to be desired. Ambiance and patio were great.

The service was the worse I ve ever had! Anything we requested came within 15-20 minutes. Very slow! No chicken dishes in their menu at all! We went as a group, 4 couples and asked to have separate bills and confirmed with the server few times as some of us wanted to order alcoholic drinks and some didn t. When we asked for our bill we noticed that she divided the whole amount in to four and she mentioned that the machine is not allowing her to separate the bills even though we had mentioned and confirmed with her! We spoke to the manager and all she said is that they are sorry for what happened and she will have a word with the server This was very unethical and unprofessional! None of us were happy with the service and some ended up paying way more than they were expecting. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! NOT GOUNG BACK EVER!

Overrated and overpriced

Love this place so much, but the service today was so awful. We ve been waiting for 30 min each time when we tried to order something. Same with the bill. Put more staff during your service hours. So disappointed

First time here, will not be going back. Waited almost 2 hours for the food to arrive, and dishes were not good. Staff are nice, but overall hard no, save yourself your time.

I am convinced that the people giving five stars have too much money to spend. First, though, the pros: The vibes at this place are immaculate, and the waitresses were very nice and helped give my friend an excellent celebration for his grad. For that, they deserve 5 stars all the way. However, I was extremely disappointed by how small the portions were. My girlfriend took a salad that was literally a half grapefruit, no actual lettuce in it, all for 20$ with tax included. The fettuccine Alfredo was delicious, but again, extremely small. Hardly worth 23$ in my view. The cocktails and tiramisu s funnily enough were well priced and portioned in my view. If you intend on going to a restaurant to take nice Instagram photos but not actually eating much of anything, this place is for you. I hate to leave such a negative review, for I still had a great time (again, due to staff and the ambiance) but I was simply flabbergasted at how we could come back with a 100$+ bill without having actually eaten very much. The salad looked more like it was a side dish rather than the meal and we feel like jokes for not having done our research beforehand.

The atmosphere is quite nice, and the food tastes good, worth a visit for those wanting to check it out. PAPPARDELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE ($26): Tomato meat sauce pasta. I dont eat goat cheese, so I asked for it without the cheese, and it was a bit watery. The noodles seemed handmade and were chewy and delicious, but the sauce was a bit salty. BISTECCA ALLA PIZZAIOLA ($46): Tomato and steak, very delicious and highly recommended. The portion is large, enough to share. PATATE ($14): I do not recommend this. The fries looked nice but were bland, with the aroma of truffle oil but no saltiness or flavor. This restaurant does not provide ketchup, and even with the aioli sauce I ordered for an extra ($2), it was not tasty. We went for a birthday and it was the perfect choice. The food has a lot of variety and all of us got great dishes. I ordered the citrus salad and the octopus and they were amazing. Our server Alyssa was very attentive and gave us a service that went above and beyond, she definitely set the standards high. Overall great place.

Celebrated a friend s birthday here yesterday & Alyssa s service was exceptional. We had to push our reservation & the restaurant was super accommodating. The food was also great. 10/10 overall

Food was great. The chefs tasting menu + wine pairing certainly impressed us with a couple excellent dishes. The ladies who helped us were nice. The restaurant is very obviously understaffed and the rain yesterday made things a bit hectic: when it started raining, we were sitting on the patio and the umbrella was not set up so we had zero cover. There was one gentleman in a blazer who approached two tables right next to us and asked them to move in to avoid the rain, but completely ignored us, who were literally sitting right next to their tables. I understood there was a lack of seats indoors, but it would be at least helpful to inform us to stand inside the restaurant and wait to be seated than leaving us dry and thinking whether we were invisible to him. I believe you could easily get a better service somewhere else with a 170$+ per person.
