The brussel sprouts and the pizza are really great.

We have been coming to Simona since it opened and have enjoyed watching it grow and develop. Our meal this evening was delicious and we would highly recommend this quality neighbourhood spot! The staff and ambiance are excellent.

Perfect spot for my friend group s holiday party. We went for brunch on a Sunday and did bottomless mimosas. The menu offers decent variety, all of us enjoyed our meals. The service was friendly and quick, and they let us split bills, which was much appreciated. The decor was beautiful. Will definitely return!

Great place for a meal along the waterfront! Went here with family after going to the distillery district. We had appetizers and all got pasta dishes for mains. It was all very tasty! We had really great service from Sam as she helped pick out a great wine for a picky family member and ensured all our meals were as delicious as possible. Will be coming back!

K (I forgot his name since I m making this review 2 months later) was a great host, he definitely brought the vibes! On the other hand, I was disappointed that they didn t have any lobster for the lobster linguine which they ended up using shrimp instead but it wasn t as tasty. Nice restaurant tho! Complete waste of money. It felt like the back spot was specifically reserved for POC. The food was average at best our pasta was undercooked, and when we brought it to the hostess s attention, she tried to dismiss it as al dente, even though it was too hard to chew. Despite addressing the issue respectfully, the atmosphere shifted entirely afterward and everything seemed off. We could not enjoy the food at all. Please provide better training for your staff.

The atmosphere is amazing; it s not one of those crazy crowded restaurants where you can t hear each other speak. It s incredibly clean and well decorated. I particularly love the amalfi coast so this is just like a little piece of it in Toronto. The food is incredible, I ve been here with 11 different people and they all enjoyed it and thought it was delicious. The staff is also lovely and I explained it was my moms bday and they gave us a cake and even decorated it, it was so lovely I will be coming back here and would love to celebrate bigger events here.

Beautiful spot in Toronto. Right by the waterfront and very nicely decorated. I was there for a lunch meeting and both the food and service were exceptional.

The food was delicious, but it took us forever to get it. The waiter brought water and left. Came back ten minutes later and took our drink order. We didnt get our drinks for another ten-fifteen minutes and was about to leave our table when we told him we were ready to order. The meals came out in a timely manner, but then we had to wait again for our table to be cleared and receive the bill. Dietary restrictions: They have a few gluten-free options

I went to Simona with a girlfriend on Wednesday night and we had a great evening! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful! We were served by Eric. He is THE best!! Kind, attentive, funny, and an incredible mixologist! Well definitely be back!

Great service and atmosphere but the food isn t the best representation of Italian cuisine at all this is an embarrassment. Our pasta was doughy and kinda raw. The pizza was also slightly above average and the dessert selection was dilute. Would not come back

Took a birthday girl here for dinner after work on a Friday. Id recommend the calabrese pizza and the gambero rose pasta. In terms of atmosphere, its for sure instagram pretty for photos with the bonus of having a dog park next door! We were serviced by the wonderful Aisha, who was personable, attentive and too cute for words; definitely add to your restaurant list!

Amazing food at Simona restaurant! We had the spaghetti ala Matriciana , pizza, and fried calamari for starters. EVERYTHING was delicious and bursting with flavor. We had the pleasure of being served by Veranika who was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Veranika s recommendations were excellent.

If you love Italian food, which most people do, you would love this restaurant. I loveee focaccia and the one I had here was really really good. Definitely recommend! The restaurant is also really cute, I really liked the decor. I went for lunch so it wasn t packed and I was able to find parking nearby without having any trouble.

Ordered Focaccia and Arancini for appetizers. The Arancini was very nice, but Focaccia was not hot and little cold. Making it not very pleasant. Order a Hazelnut Espresso Martini for my drink, it was fantastic. For my entree I ordered the Wagyu Beef Gnocchi and it was also great, but I felt like the Wagyu Beef was a little lacking in flavour and slightly overcooked. Finally, we ordered the Limoncello Tiramisu for dessert and unfortunately it was not up to expectations. Luckily our waitress Aisha was amazing and gave us a whole rundown of the menu and suggested many different options.

We decided to have our Friday dinner at Simona. Our table was facing the water and the park - couldn t be happier with the seating. The decor was a display of the owners tasteful selection without being overbearing and uncomfortable. The staff were all very sophisticated and friendly. A friend and I visited this gem last night, and everything was exceptional! From the moment we sat down, our server, Gessa, charmed us with her warm personality, witty humor, and top-notch service. Another server, Fawaz, added to the experience by recommending some incredible menu items we went with all of his suggestions, and every bite was a home run! The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were on point, and the whole vibe made us want to stay all night. As two seasoned foodies, we re definitely coming back! We indulged in the Margarita Pizza and Rigatoni Bolognese, both absolutely delicious, and ended on a sweet note with a decadent homemade chocolate cake that was out of this world. Highly recommend can t wait for round two!

We ate there twice. The food and drinks were good. We especially remember the waitress Veronica! She is very sweet and friendly. We felt very comfortable. Veronica is a real asset to the restaurant! 4 friends from Germany!

My large group came here for dinner before heading out to Nuit Blanche. Luckily reservation was easy to make last minute. Simona was a lovely restaurant with romantic ambiance and I liked how large it was. The menu was affordable and there were a decent selection of dishes to choose from. The down side was that service took a long time. Not many ordered drinks, but those who did, waited for a while. The dinner took even longer. When the entrees came, we dug in. Almost everyone enjoyed their food. I liked the branzino fillet that I ordered. The quantity was enough for me, but a few others complained that they were not filled from their meal. What I didnt like was the fixed tips we had to give - 22%. I am of the opinion that tips should be earned, the better service, the better the tip. But given how long we had to wait for our dishes, I wasnt thrilled to give 22%. Next time I would go back, but with a friend or two only.

SIMONA was incredible. We had Eric as our server and he was amazing, very attentive and recommended excellent food. I had the Prosciutto E Arugula pizza and it is one of the best pizzas I ve ever had in my life. Will definitely be coming back!

It s beautiful and modern inside. The food & drinks are great (the Arancini is really really good) and the service was exceptional. Will definitely go again.

The rigatoni bolognese was great

The food was good, especially the duck confit pasta and calamari, but the service left much to be desired. We went for dinner on a Saturday night, and even though the restaurant wasnt particularly busy, our waiter barely paid attention to us. He only came by to clear our plates soon after we finished eating and immediately asked if we wanted dessert. When we said we were full, he brought the bill right away. for the whole dinner he never checking how our meal was or refilling our water. If youre looking for a great dining experience with friends or family, I wouldnt recommend this place.

Vegetarian options: There were a few people in our group that enjoyed the vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: One of our party was lactose intolerant, that was accommodated with no issues.

This was our first time at Simona and unfortunately, we did not have the best experience as intended. Unfortunately, their patio is dog friendly , which is not a great idea especially for people who are afraid/don t like dogs. Not everyone out there is dog friendly and that should be respected more. We were sitting by the gate area that leads to the lake front, there was a man with a GIANT dog who walked way too close to us and my sister-in-law was terrified. She does suffer from a dog phobia and unfortunately, she was shaken when the dog got way too close to her. The owner of the dog should have the dog on a short leach when in an area where there are others sitting there. If people want to bring their dogs/pets to a patio area, they should have it on a short leach and sit outside of the patio area. NOT inside where everyone else is sitting. Unfortunate my sister-in-law had a terrifying experience and was in tears later that night. Again!!! Patios in general should NOT be dog friendly because NOT everyone is dog friendly . Everyone s feelings and opinions should be respected in a friendly manner. Hopefully we would get the chance to come back and try the rest of the menu.

It was a rather very disappointing experience. Stumbled upon the restaurant while walking along the water. I thought great it looks like a beautiful restaurant, why not try it? Went for a late lunch and ordered calamari, their mussels special, and an artichoke pizza. The presentation of the food is great, however, the chef needs to check the food before going out. We were only able to enjoy the calamari. I couldnt believe the chef sent out mussels that had gone bad cooked in their sauce and served...if I could describe the smell, would be as picked from sewer waters. We returned it right away! The artichoke pizza was very much a pesto and arugula pizza with and burnt crust. Most of the appetite was gone by the mussel smell. Just a warning to be careful about what they serve you. The pretty design doesnt reflect their kitchen or service.

I don t often visit Toronto, but it is objectively one of the best places I ve been to. An incredible location near the waterfront, a stunning atmosphere inside, comfortable furniture, and pleasant design. And most importantly, it s clean! In my opinion, there are very few clean places in Canada, and this is one of the places you can confidently go to. Delicious, appetizing, and fresh food. A great selection of cocktails, and pleasant, appropriate, and decent service. Clean, beautiful restrooms with a nice smell. This place rightfully deserves its 5 out of 5

$300+ NIGHTMARE!!! Unfortunately I m back to write a review I really didn t want to ever write. When this place opened I really enjoyed it and sang its praises to everyone I knew. When friends from out of town came by I knew where I wanted to take them - but I ve never been so disappointed. Upon entering it took 5 minutes to even be greeted. There was no line and as I ve been here before and the greeter s booth is right as you walk in, I expected a prompt hello to our group of 6 but instead we stood there waiting. Since the weather was good we asked to be sat outside and could see that there was ample room on the patio, but we were refused. Confused, we accepted to be sat inside. Our waiter came and took our preferences for water, brought them out, and then promptly disappeared for over 10 minutes. He didn t take our drink orders prior to leaving - just dropped off the water. One of my guests had to go and find him so that we could order our drinks. By that point we were also ready to order appetizers but he said he needed to go find a pen and then disappeared for an additional 5 minutes. One of the guests in our party wanted a drink with gin and asked what kind of gin was available and was told that Simona only carries two kinds. Bit i had ordered a drink that comes with empress gin so i questioned the validity of that statement and the server admitted that he didn t know what was actually available. Instead of checking he just waited for us to choose from those 3. After that he only took the appetizer orders and then we were left to wait. As I ve mentioned, I ve been to Simona before and though I understand we had a larger table of 6, we waited an unusual amount of time, but we assumed it was so that they could bring all of our appetizers out at once but that was NOT the case. The calamari came out cold, rubbery, and without Simonas signature sauce. We also ordered the arancini but were told that the kitchen made a mistake and gave it to another table but that it would be out within 5 minutes. By the time that came out everyone else was done with their appetizers (though the cold calamari was left because it was inedible). After waiting a while for our mains, one of our party was told that the steak he ordered was no longer available and was offered a lesser cut for what ended up being the same price. He felt pressured by our host to say yes and asked for his steak done medium. Fast forward to the food coming out, the steak was medium rare. We waited for the server to come back around as they usually do to ask how everything was but our server NEVER came back until the end of the meal to collect the plates and the untouched steak. Again he disappeared for 10-15 minutes before we could ask for the cheque. I have never had an over $300 meal that was of such poor quality and service. This left me feeling quite embarrassed as I ve constantly been talking up Simona and I had to bring my guests back to my place for dessert - we couldn t handle any more disappointment that night.

Although we had reservations on a weekday, there was a bit of a bottleneck upon entering. Once we were seated, the patio and service were superb. The menu is varied and presentation is appetizing . Our server was friendly and professional and we felt well cared for and neither rushed nor neglected. There is a vegetarian menu available, which summarizes the vegetarian options from the main menu.

I loved my experience at Simona. I ve been here a couple of times and the food and drinks were very good and the service has always been great. Brendy was a very attentive server and made sure that we have all our needs. Simona also have a very cozy ambiance. Highly recommended restaurant in Downtown, Toronto!

Aisha made our visit lovely. She has such a pleasant demeanor that is just so innate. We were just walking along the Harbour and popped in for a drink. The restaurant is so lovely. We both couldnt get enough of the decor, atmosphere, and service. We had the Pulpo and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly and flavors that worked so well together. Highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure come back next time we are in Toronto.

Jessa was great. One of our food items arrived late but the baked eggs was worth the wait. All the food was delish and the restaurant is beautiful Parking: Parking on the street is paid but if there are none, there is a garage in the same building Kid-friendliness: Came with the kids.

Just had an awesome time at Simona! We got there kinda late, around 10 PM, but they let us in and served us super fast (the place was kinda empty but still) We re Muslim and only eat halal, so we stuck to seafood and veggie options. We ordered the ARANCINI with mozzarella, sundried tomato, parsley, cracked pepper, and basil aioli never had it before but loved it! The BRANZINO FILLET was amazing with green beans, fennel, caper herb dressing, lemon, and preserved chili. The GIARDINO pizza with smoked provolone, fior di latte, spinach, roasted red peppers, and red onion was delicious. And we washed it all down with a FROZEN STRAWBERRY LEMONADE. Food came out quickly and was super tasty. The pizza and fish were both great, and the arancinis were a nice surprise. We stayed past 11 PM (the place was already closed), but they didn t rush us out, which was nice. The location by the lake is great, and it wasn t too busy, which was surprising for such a prime spot in the city. I usually like trying new places, but Simona s location and vibe make me wanna go back. Our bill was $110, totally worth it. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Lovely new Italian place on the east waterfront. Food and drinks were great and service was friendly. Their patio recently opened and looks lovely.

Hit or a miss place. Some dishes are great and some are not worth the money. Really nice atmosphere. Would give 3.5 stars

Nice addition to the harborfront. No frills Italian restaurant with a great patio, tasty food and relatively reasonable prices. We tried 2 entrees and one appetizer, everything was quite delicious, no complaints at all. I really enjoyed my funghi pasta and fried artichokes (I was in a vegetarian mood), my partner had a spicy sausage pasta - very solid too. Recommended.

I came to Simona on a double date with my bestie and we LOVED IT! Our server Emily (aka Em) was fab. My bf and I ordered the Caesar salad, beef wagyu gnocchi and a spice Calabrese pizza absolutely delish!! We will be back!

Emily was an absolute wonderful soul! She was so knowledgeable and made great recommendations to pair the proper wines with the delicious meals that we ordered. Service, was great! Food prep and wait time for our orders was both quick as well as spaced out to accommodate our orders. Food all prepared perfectly.

Had a great dinner with my friend on a Friday night. We had a reservation but the restaurant was almost empty. I had the chicken piccata and my friend had the fungi pasta. The chicken was juicy, so flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were really good, it had potatoes and other vegetables that tasted really good, the only problem i had was that the food wasn t hot enough, there wasn t steam coming out of it and i liked it to be a bit more hot. I had a pinot grigio and it was really nice, they also had a great selection of wines and cocktails. The service was also really great, i think our servers name was sam. Overall a great experience

Went to Simona and had a lovely evening. Before you even have a bite to eat you will notice how cute the ambiance is. Was served by Veronika at the bar and she was amazing. Walked me through all the options and was very polite and friendly. Lovely spot - will def be back!

Had a great dinner at Simona last night with my girlfriend. The food was great and so was Emily s service. Emily introduced us to her co-worker brother, and we learned that they re in a fierce competition for top reviews. We give them both 5 stars. Food

For the beautiful spot and newness of the place and materials, I was surprised that it wasnt better. We were planning on having dinner, but were less than impressed by the service and cleanliness, so we left early. It wasnt busy, just a few tables and more staff than customers, but it was a long wait for any service: 10+ minutes to be greeted at the table, same for two beers, and we had to peel the servers hair off the water bottle on the table. We ordered two drinks and an appetizer to share while we decided on dinner. The server didnt know much about the menu, flavours or ingredients, so we stopped asking questions. When the appetizer came, we found only one of the sharing plates was clean. The server didnt come back, so the table near us offered their plates. The server didnt return until well after the food and drinks were finished. There was no quality check until they brought the bill. This place has great potential, but service skills training needs to be prioritized.

Such a cute spot right on the waterfront... cool interior with banquettes... comfy chairs... funky decor. Food is amazing... pizza is authenticly Italian. Fun cocktails too. Friendly and efficient service.

Wonderful dining experience. We dined on the patio with our pups. The pups even got their own menu, and they quite enjoyed their beef dish and pupcicle! Meanwhile, we also enjoyed our food , as well!! We ordered the meatballs, octopus, arrancini, watermelon salad, pep pizza, and fig & prosciutto pizza. Literally everything was EXCELLENT!

The menu has many devious looking options it was hard to choose. I selected the chicken piccata and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad to also see good sensitivity options.

We came for dinner and we had a juicy delicious burguer and an amazing duck confetti and pear pizza. And to wrap up the experience we had a lemon-cello tiramisu to dye for. The service was great as well as the ambiance. We sat inside but the patio is huge and nicely decorated

I took my elderly parents there this past weekend. We loved it. The server Jessa was fantastic. She was attentive and so very nice. The service was great! Unfortunately due to the weather we couldnt be on the patio (I have been previously, which is great). Love the red sangria. I definitely recommend Simona

Server purposely didnt disclose that tip was included, shoved the terminal in my face and turned away. He left it on the tipping page so I added the tip and paid. Only to find out it was already included on the bill. Would have been courteous if he MENTIONED it was already included. So just make sure to double check your receipt before paying. I wouldnt recommend this place as the service was less than mediocre and the pasta wasnt thoroughly cooked.

Well what an experience. I went for my birthday, I was seated in a spot that I really didn t like. I asked for the empty table that was further up and has a pretty view. I was told the waitress in that area was overwhelmed with tables. I said I don t mind waiting. I was seated and no one really attended to our table. The original server, she never came, someone stepped in, and he took the order, then apparently he left and never told us that someone else would be taking over. My order of ricotta and watermelon had no ricotta and when I mentioned it. I was told they ran out of ricotta yet it was never taken off my bill. Because we were left in the wind my food was cold. It arrived hot but I had to wait to ask for pepper and cheese, then wait until it arrived. I had ordered the Funghi Pasta, which was tasty but would have been much better if I had eaten it hot. I should have never waited for the crack pepper and Parmesan cheese. The calamari was delicious, it was the only thing I was able to enjoy.. I originally did not order the calamari, but it was offered to me free of cost due to the fact that what I had ordered was sold out, which I did appreciate. The poor server who did step in did his best, and I was very grateful for him, as he actually seemed like he cared and did apologize more than once. I was taken back by the lack of communication from the employees. Who takes an order then never tells the customer that they are leaving and who will be taking over. I went there with a guest and was very embarrassed that I made the suggestion to go there. I told them it was my birthday, I wasn t even offered a slice of cake. I was very disappointed and wish I did not waist my money. Yes it was late, and yes I did request a change in table. But communication is key to the success of any successful business especially in customer service. Sad day for a birthday dinner

I went to Simona for the second time. The second time because the first time my friends and I went, the service and food were so terrible that they invited us back for a better experience ON THEM! Well, once again, slow and pretty much just bad service. We got one 500mL bottle of water for the table and never saw water again - that should tell you everything. Food was not good - It s so mediocre. So boring. So blah. Drinks were boring and warm - maybe because they had the patio door open which made the restaurant humid and stinking of Lake Ontario. If you re from Toronto, you know that s not a pleasant smell in the slightest. I could go on but, take this advice: Do not waste your time and money on this place.

Beautiful place and nice ambience. Server looked like she didn t want to be there, messed up our gelato flavour. Resto managers (maybe?) are much nicer. Food was disappointing tbh. Everything was spicy and salty (meatballs, octopus, salad ) I remember chopped salad had chickpeas as ingredients on the menu but I didn t see any chickpeas in the actual salad. Drinks were alright. Price isn t very crazy given location. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available

My husband and I are visiting and the hotel recommended this delicious restaurant. Emily, our waitress, was amazing! She is knowledgeable, made excellent recommendations and was an excellent host. Will want her next time we visit!
