Went with my wife, food was good.

Service was a little slow, but the food was great. Really unassuming gem in Kensington.

I ordered online, got my food half eaten or something, and I ll let the pictures talk about their service and quality! Or maybe it was some sort of a joke!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

I love this place and their pastas. Visited several times and they never disappointed me. From delicious meal to cozy and beautiful ambience. Definitely recommended to everyone who is in the Kensington area.

the best homade tomato sauce I ever had!!

Surprisingly we were the only customers at noon, but the food and service were amazing. The facilities were clean. Parking was easy.

Takeout experience was horrible. My drink was balanced on top of the food inside the bag. You can imagine how that went and how I had to throw it away.

This place has amazing pastas. We came here few times late night and we were positively surprised how quick and fresh our food was every time. Definitely recommend to everyone.

This place is my go to late night spot with a ton of variety! I always have the grilled cheese and tomato soup as well as the chicken wings. Mom and Pop do a great job with creating a homey atmosphere and taking care of their guests!

This by far, is one of the most underrated Restaurants in Toronto .. The Food, the Service and the Atmosphere are all 5 .. Simply the Best, with Simple Things Done Well....

Hands down the worst food I ve had in a while. Service was kind but the food was completely horrible. I ordered a poutine as well as a burger, and they both came out extremely soggy and textures were off. It seemed like the food came straight out of the microwave. Would not recommend this spot.

The setting is perfect with a pleasant musical atmosphere, its been a long time since I heard Frank Sinatra! The spaghetti was excellent, with a real Italian red tomato sauce, delicious as can be. Everything was really beautiful and tasty. A deserved 10/10!

They take too much time to prepare food and continuously saying it only takes 2-3 minutes and I waited for more than 35 minutes for my order and they were still saying it will take time and then I canceled the order

The girl, Donna is a really good server. She gave me like 10 litres of water every time I asked for with a beautiful smile. Shes a keeper. Water is pretty good here too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Vibe is good and yeah say hi to Donna, if you get to see her.

If its a black-owned business, I really want to support it but as another reviewer said, I dont know where the high ratings are coming from because I do feel misled. Its my birthday tmr and I was craving lasagna, so I ordered delivery for that and a slice of chocolate cake but its largely inedible. The sauce in the lasagna is very salty. I made it half-way through and had to stop because the second section had an odd taste. The frosting on the cake had melted due to how it was packaged but it also tastes a little stale and weirdly like bananas. The garlic bread shouldnt even be included. Its just bad and I couldnt do more than nibble at it. It brings me no pleasure to leave a bad review but Im honestly going to have to throw most of it in the garbage.

Im in the neighborhood. If youre up for brunch, I highly recommend T.O. Dickens . They serve an amazing egg benny that youll love!

I have been to this place only once but it definitely was not the last time. I visited this place with my friend, and we both ordered Carbonara. It was very good! Is this the best Carbonara that I have ever had? Unfortunately, no, BUT it was tasty, especially compared to the Canadian style restaurants that serve it too. The prices were also very reasonable. Now I really want to check out some of the other dishes there as well.

Crazy story visitinf toronto for my bday weekend and boom bump into this place where we did purchase food from elsewhere and still ordered from this place and once ordered was never offered water of sum sort let alone a straw or napkins smh the worst place to experience on our toronto trip we have came across some great people this by far was the worst customer service

Had their soup of the day (tomato soup) alongside a grilled cheese. Nothing extraordinary, I wouldnt say the price was justified but I had a pleasant experience nonetheless. I wont visit again, most likely, but it wasnt a bad meal.

Me and my boyfriend went there around 11:30 saw few people in there wasnt busy on a Saturday night. Checked on Google that they are open 24/7 plus they have got really good reviews but I am sorry to say the owner needs to find a better server than the Asian girl who had an attitude I dont know why like it wasnt even busy she just wasnt happy to be working there. We asked her can we sit outside and will someone come to our table she said yeah but it seemed she was not interested in working at all. We waited 20 min outside no one came and guess what they lost their customer with just a poor attitude of that ASIAN server. U own a restaurant at a good place find a staff who likes their job not someone who makes people leave the restaurant without being served.

Yesterday we had dinner there but we left quite disappointed due to the Asian server. After 15 min waiting for her to come so we could order, I had to go find her (while she was with her phone inside). Then she barely paid attention to us (we were in the back garden) and was a bit rude. At the end, one of us didnt leave a tip and she answered back in a mean way. Being forced in that situation, that person ended up leaving a tip but well definitely never go back!

Food was not at all satisfying and rats were running around. Disgusting

Everytime we visit family in Toronto, we order Lunch via Door Dash or a similar app. I am always on the look out for a good lasagna. This was by far the WORST food. First off all the cost of the food and the portion size is a joke. It was a very tiny slice with very little sauce.. The noodles were black/burnt. We ordered the Garlic Loaf or whatever its called. It was very bland, and dry. Its too thick. We picked the cheese and the very top layer. I havent eaten the Caesar salad yet, but not sure how they could ruin that.. but im not holding my breath. I realize prices are higher on these apps to account for their costs, but for the 50 + dollars we paid.. I was not impressed and would not recommend nor re order or visit this place again.

This is no reflection on our server who was doing her best, but we were a party of 10 and it took over 1.5 hrs for us to get our food orders. The restaurant was not busy besides us. And we had made a reservation well in advance so it wasnt like we turned up as a surprise. The servers didnt check on us at all and we had to go to them and ask if we could order our food and then eventually if we could pay our bills. Who knows how long we would have been there if we didnt take initiative ourselves. Our reservation was at 8pm, we couldnt leave until 11pm!!!!! And the food when it finally arrived was not good. We all ordered a pasta dish of some kind and we all agreed it tasted like microwaved cafeteria food. Would not recommend!!!! Drinks were ok. Atmosphere was lovely. Not a horrible spot if you are a small group just stopping by for one drink. But Id give this one the pass. There are plenty of other hip places in Kensington.

It took 1.5 hours to get our dinner, the drinks weren t good, food wasn t good for how long of a wait it was. We had to ask to order our food and pay the bill - they didn t come to service us but tip was automatically added because we were a big group. I would not recommend.

Vegetarian options: Beyond burger dish Food

I tried bacon cheeseburger and it was absolutely amazing, i also recommend their cocktails, mango margarita was refreshing and delicious

Stumbled upon this place for brunch while heading to a different spot. I had the pancake and sausage. Came with a nice sized fruit bowl. The food was delicious, high quality, filling, and very affordable. The service was nice and friendly. Best value for money youll see. Ill be back!

Great brunch spot

Ordered through UE. The apple crumble was a cold, soggy mess. BOGO basil pesto pasta with chicken was a good deal, but looked nothing like the image & barely had any chicken. It also came with tiny stale garlic bread. I guess you get what you pay for. Won t eat there again.

Went here with friends to catch up and had a great experience. Food was good, great cozy and chilly ambience, and the service was amazing too. Especially the patio behind the restaurant impressed us. We tried some of the many cocktails (only 9$ each due to the special). The food prices are also absolutely fair and the quality was great. We will definitely return when we re at Kensington Market soon.

Excellent view (patio), service, and tasty food. Caesar Salad was great, and the Negroni was on point. Come here for a nice summertime dinner!

In a city full of really excellent, casual restaurants, this is one of them. Food and service were excellent. I had zero complaints or things Id change, and they accommodated my food allergy correctly and professionally, which is pretty hit and miss in my experience.

Everyone is missing out on this place. There is a front and back patio. Its affordable and delicious. Staff are attentive. If you dont know where else to sit down at Kensington cause it can get busy, I highly recommend TO Dickens.

Great quality food, 4 of us all had a different meal for lunch and everything from pasta to burger and gourmet sandwiches were excellent. Kudos to the chef! Bruschetta is probably the best we ve ever had. Service was friendly and fast! Coffee was served in proper espresso cups, and along with the presentation of the food it was a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and gorgeous. I don t submit reviews much but this place totally deserves another positive comment and five stars in every aspect!

We LOVED the food and the friendly staff. Vegetarian options: They make all food to order so you can take off or add to create your vegetarian favorite. Dietary restrictions: They were careful to go easy on dairy for me!

Hidden gem !

This place is a much needed 24-hour (Delicious!) restaurant in our 24 hour city! I it. My favorite is the chicken pesto pasta.

Had a wonderful meal at T.O. Dickens tonight with my cousins. The menu had a great selection. Everyone said their food was good and the prices were very reasonable. The ambience is intimate and cosy. Next time I will need to save room for the desert.

A favorite late night place for food and drinks. Definitely recommend the spaghetti alla bolognese.

Tacos and pulled pork sandwich are amazing!

This place is open 24 hours and the food here is amazingly high quality and delicious. My favorite sandwiches are the chicken clubhouse and the chicken chipotle. My favorite pasta with a modified seafood pasta that uses rosie sauce and penne (I just asked the waiter for these modifications). The ceasar salad is pretty good too, although a tad bit on the richer side with its dressing. The desserts seem to all be in large portion sizes, so high in calories and sugar, but I only tried one (the chocolate cake) and I felt like it honestly wasn t that particularly good. The brunch and breakfast menu is good as well.

I thought Id give it a try I always thought they were overpriced but I love pasta I love Italian food so here we go ...Penny chicken alfredo with mushrooms onion and garlic bread honestly two out of five it really tasted like I bought the cheapest alfredo sauce and the cheapest penne pasta and made it The garlic bread was two 1 inch by 1 inch cubes on top of that that meal cost $22 I also got the Belgium chocolate cake which cost $12 probably an inch and a half by 3 in wow my credit card was bigger than the slice of cake $12 is crazy no problem if it was made in-house with all the greatness but I highly doubt that Just a normal Belgian chocolate cake you could get from metro.... The sad part is they joined the shrinkflation and skimflation trends definitely never going here again. I dont mind trying things out but if youre going to slap me in the face while Im doing it count me out.

We came here for dinner twice in the last week because the food was amazing. We had the Mac n cheese, penne arrabiata, Asian zing wings and Calamari fritti , and Philly steak sandwich with poutines. The pasta had the right amount of kick to it and the sausages were salted just right. There was also plenty of sauce with the pasta. The Philly steak sandwich was also great. The poutine actually had real cheese curds and we loved the fries, which were crispy and soft. The bacon Mac n cheese was very cheesy so it was actually quite heavy. It tasted so good but Id recommend getting it as an appetizer and splitting it among 4 people. The servers here were wonderful. They were attentive and checked to make sure we were doing alright.

Been here a few times and I must say they are very consistent with their quality and service, also their prices dont dent your pocket. Keep up the good work. Highly recommended.

I randomly picked this place out after my husband and Is original plans for a brunch place fell through and we needed to find somewhere close by to eat instead. Such a hidden gem and Im so glad we came across it! The standouts for me were the toast (I got the Breakfast - I wasnt a huge fan of the taste of the sausage but everything else was delicious) and the coffee I ordered (I put milk and sugar). Im giving specific shout outs to those cause that is something I get when I have this type of dish at restaurants and they have always otherwise been fine. But they were SO good here - the bread was *chefs kiss* Im obsessed (makes me excited to try the French Toast next time) Loved the ambience; music was great, our server was friendly and attentive (though we also were the only ones there at the time haha) Well definitely be making plans to come back!

What a beautiful restaurant right in the heart of Kensington! They have an extensive Italian menu with items for every mood. I had a chicken sandwich with their tomato soup, which I loved! Can t wait to go back here again.

Visited TO Dickens yesterday and found the food satisfactory. However, there was a lack of transparency regarding charges. We requested to swap the burger s side salad for truffle fries, not knowing it would add an extra $8 charge per order, without any mention at the time. The original $16 burger price remained the same even without the salad, leading to a total of $24 per burger with fries. Transparency about additional costs would be appreciated for a better customer experience.

The food was really yummy. We got a poutine to start, my friend got the lasagna (I had a bite it was really tasty) and I had the carbonara(it was really saucy and hot which was nice). 2 things to note. The atmosphere looked and felt really nice, but it smelled like pinesol cleaning product so that threw me off a bit. Also there are no refills for soft drinks. Would return!:)

Even after living in this city for 15+ years, the food scene never cease to amaze me.. Not sure how I havent heard about this place before but Im happy I found this truly hidden gem. Atmosphere is very welcoming, great ambiance and vibe inside. The staff that I met the other night was really cool and helpful. But really, where else can you find delicious ravioli at 4am? Just go, thank me later.

24/7 quality dining, atmosphere and service. So pleased. Visiting from AZ USA and the seafood spaghetti haunts me still a week later IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! A cannot miss respite in Toronto.

What a great group staff, service and super cute place in the Kensington neighborhood!! The drinks were so yummy, highly recommend you try their drinks menu! You must try their spring rolls with their super yummy and perfectly spiced dipping sauce! I love the fact there is a front an back patio, one for people watching and another for more private and intimate gatherings. Highly recommend this place! The staff know how to make sure you have a good time.

What an awesome arrival for the Kensington neighbourhood! Genuinely friendly and experienced people, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere I had the salmon, and it was perfect - just melted in my mouth. My avocado salad was fresh - an inspired and balanced mix. Great Cocktails too! Finally a 24 hr spot that i would happily go to at any time. Toronto needs more of this!

I got the Mac and cheese with bacon for take out. Ordered it on Uber eats. The food was HORRIBLE. Easily the worst Mac and cheese Ive ever had. Maybe its cause Im American and Mac and cheese is more plentiful here or the difference between the ingredients but man this food was barely edible. When I arrived, it seems they didnt hear the alert to begin my food so they had to rush in the back to get it made in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe thats what messed it up? Id be open to maybe coming back during the day and trying another dish but that Mac and cheese was HORRID.

We had an overnight stay at Samesun hostel next door. Our arrival was late, at around 10 pm when the eating places in the neighbourhood started to close. Honestly, this was not our primary choice but it was the first place which was open. And we were not dissapointed at all. In all aspects - quality of food, size of portions (especially dessert), quality and time of service, prices - the place deserves the highest points. I had grilled halloumi cheese and I loved it! As I understood the place has been recently established. I hope the guys maintain the same level of quality in the future.

My partner and I love the Kensington market area. When we go, we usually go to the same establishments. On our last visit to the area we decided to try out some new bar/restaurants in the area for a change. We are so glad we tried out the T.O. Dickens Restaurant. What a lovely place to enjoy some food and drink. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Donna, the manager, love her! There is a small patio at the front of the restaurant we considered, but Donna suggested we have a look at the patio located at the back of the restaurant before we made our decision. So glad we did. Its so pretty back there. Although fairly small in size it is beautifully decorated. The color scheme and decorative table and chair sets, along with the painted brick wall, just add to the visual enjoyment. Not to mention the beauty of the trees surrounding the area. The restaurant inside is very cozy if its not a good occasion to be outdoors. Unfortunately, if you have mobility challenges though, this is not the place for you. As there are stairs. Of course you could sit at the front patio, but the washrooms would not be accessible. We were going to just have a couple drinks but because the sun was shining it made it extra beautiful sitting out there so we decided to stay for a bite to eat as well. We had the Bruschetta to start which was a different take on what we are used to but that was ok, it was still very tasty. We also had the Montreal smoked meat along with the Monte Cristo sandwiches. They were good, there sandwiches after all so not too hard to screw them up, lol. But the salads on the side could have been a little bigger. Still, they were tasty. One suggestion i have when serving the food is to not provide plates prior to bringing out the food orders. You dont need a plate and then another plate with the food on it. Too many plates! The addition of the water provided with some citris pieces in it was also a nice touch. Their menu looks great! A nice variety of options to choose from. I think most people would find something they would like. There were certainly many options i would have or look forward to trying out on our next visit. Pricing is pretty much the same as other places we have been to in the area. We definitely recommend this lovely establishment for your dinning/drinking needs. I might add as much as I, when going out, want to be in an establishment that has a nice environment and good food, I find it equally important that the individuals who are providing the services be capable of making my stay enjoyable. Donna, exceeded my expectations, she is a very valuable addition to this establishment in my opinion. She was very tentative to our needs but also took the time out to chat with us. What a wonderful human being! She is what made our visit the truly wonderful one it turned out to be. I think I might adopt her, lol. We love you Donna! The other staff we had the pleasure of interacting with during our stay were also friendly and did their jobs well. Thanks to the owner for hiring the right individuals and providing such a lovely place to enjoy while visiting the Kensington Market. We look forward to our next outing.

Vibes wise, if those sad millenial grey wood floors were a restaurant, it would be this. Its really strange to find this restaurant in Kensington. The service was excellent and the food and prices were ok, the but the whole experience was weirdly commercial and devoid of the quirks and personality that make Kensington special. This feels like a tourist restaurant youd see downtown in a big city near the main stadium, or something. The menu is expansive, specializing in nothing, the dishes have cookie cutter food service ingredients (like that ubiquitous balsamic dressing) and are plated like upscale mall dining (Moxies, etc). The cappuccino was only $3.50 -- a great price -- but I wouldnt be surprised if it came from one of those Nespresso type machines you find in offices. We got the distinct pleasure of sitting in front of the speakers and listening to Justin Bieber and Katy Perry top 40 hits at a volume too loud to allow for comfortable talking. The front patio is also all bar stool height seating and we got to watch an older couple beside us struggle to get into their chairs, with no alternate seating offered. I was there for the South launch opening I walked through the place and instantly knew Id be this would be one of my hidden gems the owner used to cook at 7 West so hes very familiar with comfort food he brought that same seven West energy to Augusta his spin on Comfort Foods is really authentic as you can see I had the chipotle chicken with a quart of chicken it definitely hit the spot especially 3:34 in the morning is a definite go to the spot is brand new clean and the back patio is immaculate the first time I add on the patio of the second time I had in the front both experiences were tight I definitely have to give these guys a five-star rating a Hidden Gem in the middle of the city open 24 hours a day I hope you people and everybody enjoys this Im always have an amazing time here please check it out especially late night tell them 7 sent you..cheers

Can t beat the food & drinks at this price point! Service was great and food was pretty good! I will mirror some other reviews about the music. It was loud pop music which, I do love, but didn t really fit the vibe. Some lofi, soft rock or even jazz would be better suited for the area and resto. Love that this place open 24 hours, great for people who work late! We ll be back for sure!

Just happened upon this spot and decided to head in for a drink and sit on the patio! Great prices and strong drinks! It also smelled amazing inside so I ll definitely come back to try some food.

We stopped in for breakfast and the steak, eggs, salad and toast we ate were all delicious. The server was attentive and friendly. The furniture up near the window on the other hand features the dumbest table setup I have ever seen in any restaurant in my entire life. Dont put counter height stools at a regular height table. My wife and I just tossed those awkward stools aside and grabbed the metal chairs instead. Anyone taller than 5 would be banging their knees against the table while crouched and eating in a silly high chair yoga pose. It was otherwise a great experience and I look forward to coming back but if those chairs are still there by the window I will have to use all my willpower not to throw them on the curb for you!

I ordered the thanksgiving dinner special and it was incredible! It came with stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes, seasoned carrots and string beans, and cranberry sauce and gravy. Fantastic flavour and good portions (though there could ve been a bit more veggies - i only got about 4-5 string beans and 3-4 pieces of carrots). Would definitely order again!

I had the butternut squash ravioli and the steak dish. Both were delicious and I ended up ordering the butternut squash ravioli on Uber Eats a couple nights later cause I was craving it. The service was really great. Our server was really patient and welcoming. I believe his name was Eric. The overall atmosphere here is calm and relaxing. It s nice to dine out but not be in a crowd. This place is very clean and lowkey. It s nice to go to a restaurant that has fresh flowers throughout.

Sat outside. Didnt get dinner before going out so this was perfect to get dinner after going out and before getting home. The garlic parm wings are SO good. Tried asian zing sauce on the side and its like sweet chili Thai with more kick. Their fries are steak fries the Caesar salad was great! their spaghetti bolognese was soo good very meaty and hearty. The bowl is deceiving, it was a lot of pasta. The Alfredo was very flavourful. The lasagna was so cheesy and crispy cheesy. Split 3 apps 4 ways + a pasta + cake and it was under 40$ good deal. The server was the nicest guy ever.

Definitely a hidden gem in the lively Kensington area. Random walk by resulted in one of the best brunches Ive had in a while. Amazing food, super friendly service with a cozy atmosphere. Its extremely rare to find decent 24 hour restaurants post COVID, and even then sometimes quality is compromised. This establishment bucks the trend and is fantastic quality at super reasonable prices. Will return for sure!

This man has made me so grateful. Flew in late at 11pm almost everything was closed. I look up restaurants that don t seem like trash and I see this one with like almost entirely 5 stars right? I m like seems suspicious but it was by my hostel so I checked it out. I m greeted by this very kind gentleman who I assumed was the night crew, it was the owner! I ordered 3 tacos, man said hey it s taco Tuesday so is it cool if I bring you 2x of each? This man gave me 6 FIREEEEE tacos for like $15. Man made my night, if you want some good food any time of day check this place out. You re a king sir.

Great!! They have Tuesday tacos that are 2 for 1 in the order, incredibly better than the taco shops around. The drinks are delicious and they have happy hour The walnut pie is delicious together with a hot chocolate We loved it, I think it is the best there is in the Zone!!

Loved this place. We didnt know what to expect coming in but the food was great, the server was very friendly and attentive. Only thing we did not like were their dining chairs made of metal which we found to be rather uncomfortable. We then noticed some tables had chairs with foam padding so we took the liberty of switching the chairs. All in all we had enjoyable lunch here and will return when we visit Kensington again.

I ve ordered quite a few times from here. Everything from pasta to grilled cheese to soup to salad, and tonight I was craving mashed potatoes so I ve even had those. Everything s been delicious and portion sizes are great. There wasn t an option to add gravy to the potatoes, and when I called, the gentleman who answered the phone was extremely kind and helpful. I got exactly what I wanted with ease. I haven t been in person, but I can imagine it s even better fresh! Definitely recommend ordering from here :)
