720 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1E8, Canada
The birthplace of Terroni, 720 Queen Street West is where it all began. When we opened in 1992, with seating for a handful of people, word of mouth quickly made Queen a neighbourhood favourite. Over the years we have expanded and renovated several times but the spirit that it was built upon remains the same. Located in the heart of Queen St. W., imported Italian goods line the shelves and the memory of Italian mammas that used to buy their prosciutto and mortadella on Saturday mornings is still alive. Regulars come by for a quiet morning coffee on their way to work and stop in on their way home for an aperitivo or dinner with their families and the back patio is a summertime favourite. We love that through all the changes, Terroni Queen.
Pizzas were way too thin they were snapping like water crackers. The bread was way sour even for sourdough my mouth was puckering. I did not enjoy the olive oil it was too bitter. BUT! The marinara sauce was the best I’ve ever had. They were quick and could seat guests quickly
Quite nice place! Pasta is freshly made and they have a good selections of the white pizza! Price is good as well
This restaurant has delivered wonderfully on their focus on authenticity and tradition to be applied to their ingredients that are focused on in their kitchen, then the physical environment and greetings and warmth from the staff make this evening for us a real and authentic experience….what a great dinner based on as the staff commented “the soul of the kitchen”….very special meal !…our female server was exceptional and we greatly appreciated her knowledge of the menu and helpful advice…what a very pleasant evening..
Great restaurant. Absolutely loved the food, especially the lemon pasta. Tried their pizzas and gnocchi as well, all great. Great service and a very fun atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Nice spot for Italian food. The outdoor patio was very good. The inside was clean and comfortable and decorated well. The staff are attentive and fast. We had the charcuterie board and a few pizzas. All delicious!
Good ambience. A bit noisy. Initially we were offered a table upstairs near a window directly under the AC vents and was too cold. We ordered a mixture of dishes and the food arrived relatively quickly. Generally the portions were too small. The bread was chewy. The pizza was rubbery. The spaghetti was the best dish but was too little for one person. The waitress was quick to pick up the table - she picked up everyone else’s plates while I was still eating. Not recommended.
I recently visited Terroni, and while the location and ambiance were undeniably stunning, the overall experience left me somewhat underwhelmed. The vibe was fantastic, creating a perfect atmosphere for a night out, but unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the high expectations set by the surroundings. The drinks, though well-prepared, came in extremely small portions, which didn’t feel justified given the high prices. The food was aesthetically pleasing, but the taste didn’t stand out—it was just average. The two dessert dishes that truly impressed me were the tiramisu and affogato, which I can confidently recommend. Overall, I’d say one visit was enough for me. Given my experience, I wouldn’t go out of my way to suggest this spot to others.
I’ve been here a month ago, but the food wasn’t great. First, both pizza and pasta were tasteless. It was the first time that I needed to put some salt on them. Second, the pasta wasn’t cooked properly. When I cut through one piece of pasta, it was still undercooked. I told my server about it. She quickly took it away and kindly asked me if I wanted new one or different pasta. I got new pasta, and I doublechecked it but unfortunately it was still undercooked. I finished the food anyways. I got disappointed a bit since I’ve heard it was one of the best Italian restaurants in town. I hope non of other people are experiencing the same thing as me.
The food here is second to none for authentic Italian cuisine. Ive been going here for years. Since they doubled their space a few years ago, the ambiance is so much better. Awesome desserts!
I celebrated my partners birthday here as he wanted to go. The food was okay but not really worth the price . I was surprised they don t give a small desert for your birthday and just offered a a small candle. The server brought the wrong drinks and wouldn t admit her mistake saying I said something else and did not bring the bread until I asked. I wouldn t choose to return.
I m very disappointed in my service tonight at Terroni. Server made a mistake with the bill and instead of taking responsibility for the bill, he blamed it on us. He overcharged me and made me pay my friend s bill after he mischarged her. I EVEN offered to give more of tip to cover her bill and then pay my own but he couldn t change get me to pay my own bill. I m very upset by this as no responsibly was taken by the server or the restaurant. This makes me not want to come back to Terroni, go to Public Gardens instead for better service. I believe a manager should have taken the situation over and no apology was given. I would like to point out that we had a reservation for 8pm and we didn t sit until 8:15pm even though we were 5 minute early as someone was sitting at our table.
Pizza was unmatchable years ago, and now there are so many great pizza establishments in the city, making better pizza. This review is based on the pizza alone. The Funghi salad is still great.
ISSY at Queen Terroni was super helpful and knowledgeable. She recommended the right pizza for my friend s palate and was able to properly recommend the right wine based on our preferences. She was super friendly and attentive without being aggressively. 4+ service.
Lovely atmosphere and ambience in the Queen St location. The restaurant was bustling on a Saturday night; this is a fun spot for group dining. However, as a reservation of 10, we waited for almost 30 minutes for our entire table to have enough seats. The staff were apologetic and communicated why there was a delay, which was appreciated (the table next to us took longer than expected to leave). Although, for a reservation of our size we expected this to be accommodated sooner. The portions of food are good - the bolognese was generous, and the funghi salad was sizeable and tasty. I tried both the bolognese and cacio e pepe. I found both to be palatable. The meat in the bolognese was dry and the tomato flavour of the sauce was dull. The cacio e pepe was rich but tasted plain. I appreciate the stress restaurants go through each weekend, however I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
The Tonnarelli Norcina and the Spaghetti Canna Mare were exquisite. Food was delicious.
The best restaurant in Toronto! I have been enjoying Terroni for over 20 years, celebrating birthdays, cozy dates, and girls night out. The staff are welcoming and super sweet, always making our evenings special with their attentiveness and positivity. Thanks to the kitchen staff for the consistent delicious food made with quality Italian ingredients. Thanks to Graheme for the carefully selected wines from Italian producers. Thanks to Allister, Aisling, Camille, and Marina for great service always. And thanks to Samantha for making the reservation process easy. This restaurant embraces you like family, has a great atmosphere and gives you a taste of Italy! I strongly recommend you check it out!
Food was ok not an Italian foody here
Had my 30th birthday here on Saturday night with a party of 17. Everything was perfect. Service was impeccable. Food was fantastic, all of our dishes arrived within minutes of each other, appetizers and mains were spaced out perfectly, drinks were flowing, bills came out in a timely fashion and payment did not take long at all. There was a fantastic sommelier working who recommended a bottle of wine and it was superb (sorry, don t remember names). Extremely happy with the evening and definitely will be back.
Well pizza pasta that s all Standard Italian food
solid 5.5/10, think rating could be higher after trying more dishes. place was really cool though
Authentic Italian food even the water used for making bread is imported from Italy. Shannon was our server, and she provided outstanding service.
From a couple visiting Toronto, food was alright, could ve used more flavour. I am also shocked that when we were served complimentary bread that we were told they do not give balsamic vinegar for the table, just olive oil. Which doesn t really taste good with just bread, maybe that s just me. As for the service, it was decent, seemed pretty busy. Prices also seemed very unjust for what we got as well. Will we be coming back when we go to Toronto again, probably not.
This was once a favourite restaurant now I d discourage people from visiting. A big thing is that it s simply under staffed. I reserved a table for my birthday and showed up on time with a large group, only to wait 10 minutes to be seated. That was the vibe for the night: long delays to order drinks, to order apps, to clear plates, to pay the bill. It was one long test of patience, all the while enduring (here comes a second complaint) a truly noisy and awful ambiance; seriously bad music we re talking Mambo number 5 level trash. Won t be back. Among chain restaurants, Nodo does a better job of what Terroni used to be good at.
Terroni on Queen St used to be a top spot for us in the city, but after our recent experience, it s clear we won t be returning. We dined as a party of four (two adults, a toddler, and an infant), and while the staff was friendly, the food unfortunately fell far short of expectations. We started with calamari and burrata, but the calamari was overwhelmingly salty, and the burrata didn t seem fresh. For our mains, we ordered two pasta dishes, both of which arrived cold and severely undercooked. Overall, the flavors just missed the mark, making the experience a disappointing one. Despite the restaurant s reputation, this visit left us with little desire to return. Here s hoping future diners have a better experience!
Best spot on Queen for Italian! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Food : 5/5 |
overall mid
Overpriced, the pasta was ok and pizzas weren t great. Service wasn t good either.
Came on a Wednesday evening with a group of 6. We sat on the patio and it was still warm out so it was nice, and lively. We shared some apps which were okay, and I got the pappardelle was great. Had a fantastic non-alcoholic cocktail, I think it was watermelon mint.
Full marks to Terroni Queen for working with our party of five on Saturday last...number of tables had drafts (it was a cool and rainy night) so they moved us around on a busy night and checked in regularly to ensure we were comfy. The food and service were excellent, an accomplishment especially since it was very full. Full marks for crispy calamari that were lightly dusted and fried just right (so many leave them in the oil too long). My only suggestion might be to introduce a few discrete sound-absorbing elements...even though many restaurants seek that energy buzz, some sections were crazy loud (ultimately patrons talk overly loud, just to be heard, which only adds to the overall cacophony). Definitely worth a return visit.
So disappointed with this restaurant. There are so many better Italian spots to go to, don t waste your time or money giving this one a shot. Pasta was way to undercooked and basically crunchy~ not aldente as they call it. Manager is horrible at his job and should definitely not be in the service industry. They should be more straightforward with their policies as they do not accommodate outside desserts but never once mentioned that when I made a birthday reservation for 15 people (and then lied and said they did). Server was counting chairs every time food came out and auctioning it off to the table because the food runners could not figure it out. All in all for the price of this meal it wasn t worth it. Was too hyped up and over priced for a lack lustre experience.
Our pasta was undercooked. We let our waiter know, and she was prompt in replacing it. Overall it was an okay experience.
We got some of the best customer service that Ive experienced in a long time when we visited for a friends birthday! They were very apologetic when they forgot to tell our server we were in her section, and they did everything they could to make it up to us and to make our friends birthday special! Great food as well! Vegetarian options: Anything without parmesan or other hard cheeses and meat.
Lovely restaurant. Especially loved the prosciutto and burrata appetizer.
Excellent service from Fernanda and Fernanda only. other servers would passed us by or would just say let me get your server for you when we needed something, Fernanda was so attentive that she saw us looking for our server and asked if there s anything she can help with. She s warm, welcoming and made us feel like valued guests.
One Word.. Yummy!!
Excellent place for Italian
They had this nice seasonal beef check l, if you guys want to welcome fall.
A very uncomfortable Saturday night pizza dinner with my husband. Server dressed very unprofessionally, inappropriate for your establishment. Without a mention, both my husband and I felt the same way throughout dinner. Because of that, we basically ate and ran. Very disappointed, as we were really looking forward to the experience. Would have expected higher standards from Terroni.
Always amazing!!!!
I ve been there with my friend today and even though it was early morning all the staff warmly welcomed us. Leithon was the greatest with us and very friendly which makes the moment even better. We got served very fast and the owner came to talk with us. I definitely recommend this place
We dine last night, the service was outstanding, food was good, the noise is way too high, crowded and a DJ.
Banger food and wine!
Good service, really bad food. We ordered one pizza and could not have more than one slice.
Location, location, location. This Terroni had a great patio at the back of the restaurant and great for families with kids. Bakery is next door (two levels, although we did not visit the seating area upstairs). Great vibe. Great shopping on Queen Street (picked up the sweetest flats that were a perfect nude pink at the Heel Boy after dinner) Many pastas made traditionally on menu to satisfy that pastas craving. Girlfriend and I shared the Margherita pizza as an appetizer, and it was solid. Wish it had more basil, but the amount of basil flavor to sauce and cheese was somehow just right. Thin and chewy crust. Its small, but perfect as an appetizer. I had the seafood pasta done traditionally with no cheese. Spaghetti was perfectly al dente. One for the best sauces Ive had because it was not too salty as to take away or overwhelm the seafood, which was fresh and simple with a great seafood to pastas ratio. This left just enough room for Terronis tiramisu while the waiter stood by with the stomach pump. Lol. Great place to go for a girls day out followed by some fabulous shopping in one of the last great retail areas in TO.
Mid
This restaurant is very consistent in its quality and service. It never disappoints. If you are looking for truly authentic Italian cuisine than this is the place for you. Thank you for being great.
I went with my girlfriend and I havent been to Terroni in 10 years and it still is awesome. We had delicious pasta serve hot and it was out of this world. When we got in the girl with that glasses was so sweet and the girl that took our order was awesome. She was working like 5 tables at once. I enjoyed my time there and will return again. Definitely will be back.
Great spot. Food was delicious and nice ambiance
We got the Rigatoni pasta and it was pretty good! Nothing amazing or different but you get what you pay for. Meals are definitely on the higher end as well. Just a heads up they don t do any modifications or take allergies into consideration.
Terroni food is always on point. Some people don t like it but our family appreciate it for always being consistent. This Queen st location is no different Will be back
Server was delightful and food was delicious as always
Staff were friendly, food is overpriced for the portions in my opinion - $27 for 5 pieces of ravioli is crazy .. taste was great but price kinda killed it for me
Five star service, food, and atmosphere. Beautiful back patio. Generally tables 1-4 and up to 6 comfortably without a reservation. Plenty of seating. Delightful service. Very knowledgeable about wine (and more!). The staff are encouraged to taste the wine and are educated on it. Olive oil with the table bread was FRESH. Love that tart fresh bitey taste. Mozzarella/prosciutto and Puzza pizza were delightful !! Both recommended if you like cheese. Montepulciano recommended and delicious Tiramisu comes in a glass jar but dont be deceived!! Absolutely the perfect balance of creamy mascarpone, cocoa powder, and espresso soaked lady fingers. Would recommend and come again
Had an amazing dining experience here for a late lunch, early dinner. Our hostess I wish I remembered her name, was amazing. As non Italians she explained everything on the menu to us and made some great suggestions. Between the 3 of us we got the cheese platter in which the homemade jam was delicious! I would buy a jar to have at home! 3 different pastas and all of them tasted amazing, different flavours and textures, a pizza, and cocktails. We were stuffed and definitely over ate because it was all so good! We barely had space for dessert so we ordered 1 tiramisu, so light and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant, it s so cute and warm. The atmosphere is great, we went at an odd time and waited maybe 5 minutes without a reservation to be seated. The price is very reasonable for the quantity and quality. Will 100% be returning! Hopefully also finding the location of their bakery in hopes of finding a jar of the homemade jam!
One of my favorite restaurants in Toronto. 3 locations but they all have great food and service. I would highly recommend you try this place.
Good food and great ambience. Love their backyard patio space.
Hostess and servers were friendly and professional! The menu is large and the pastas we ordered were great. The burrata for $31 was much was smaller than we expected and it would have been nice if they had brought some sort of dessert (as many restaurants do) when we said we were there for our friend s birthday (group of 8, all there for appetizers, dinner and drinks).
Used to go here growing up and revisited now that I live elsewhere, it was even better than I remembered. Every dish we had was unreal and the server was one of the best servers Ive had in the last five years, truly passionate about the restaurant. Highly recommend the fungi assoluti, the appetizer with the chickpea cake, the garganelli gepetto, the pizzas, and the tiramisu.
I have been going to this location for 2 consecutive years to celebrate my birthday, and every time is a great experience! From the hostess to our server, everyone was so welcoming. The food was amazing, like always, I love their pasta Tonnarelli alla norcina, and honestly, the price is fair for the quality of the food you get. Will definitely be coming back to celebrate special occasions!
Italy on a plate
Visited for dinner, was served water with a dead drain fly in it. When letting a waitress know, she simply said ok and changed the glass. No apology for the experience and didn t let anyone else know. Disgusting hygiene here where they can t even bother to visually check if the tableware is clean.
It is great!
Drink sizes were for a toddler and overpriced and none of the tables were clean.
Been to the Adelaide one and loved it. This queen location and experience was probably the worst meal I ve eaten in ages. The photos I m posting are deceptive even though it s an average photo. We ordered the Garganelli Geppetto pasta & the Rigatoni al Amatriciana, both in gluten free. Our order came in 7 minutes which is usually a good thing but then it felt like they reheated pasta from 2 days ago - it was extremely hard and poor in taste. The meat was fresh but the quantity was smaller than a child s appetite. The service was average, the cleaners wanted to take my plate even though there was clearly food on my plate while in conversation. And this is 8pm on a Saturday night. The only positive from this was the lady at the front as we entered. A warm smile. But if that s the best part of a meal, you know it s a disaster.
Terroni on Queen will not disappoint. The back patio has a cozy vibe. The food is tasty and the staff are welcoming and attentive.
Leighton was prompt and warm, 5 stars for her service! Ask for her section :)
$22 for three mediocre zucchini blossoms so disappointing. Every time I give Terroni another chance, I leave being let down on flavours, drinks and price yet again. A place I will likely never choose as a venue if I had a say. A complete waste of $40.
Definitely get the truffle pasta!
Great food and nice patio. However, the service was slow, unfriendly, and unhelpful. We were a large group and we didn t feel welcomed because of the attitude of the server.
Terroni is without a doubt the place you want to go if you are looking for the real italian flavors experience. It s my go to place every time I am in Toronto. If you are a pizza lover I would absolutely recommend the Santo Stefano that has tomato, arugula, buffalo mozzarella and parma prosciutto in very slim slices that melt in your mouth. The place is very popular and I recommend to get there early or make reservations. There is a no changes on the dishes policy that is meant to keep the fine association of flavors as they are supposed to be. Nothing against it. Highly recommend.
Bufalina pizza and Tiramisu were delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Food and atmosphere very good but $20 for a small glass of Chianti over the top. $27 for a glass of the recommended white.
Had a business meeting here. Everything was awesome! Loved this place.
Been to this location many times but not likely to return. Majority of the food for our table of 6 was well received however the portions are down 30-40% what they use to be. $22 for a tiny buffalo mozzarella ball and two sliced tomato s can t be justified by the owners to their customers. Outside of the friendly kitchen staff bringing food quickly the service on the patio for our table was very slow. Myself and a few others at my table (and other tables) were constantly being hit in the head or back by a few servers going back and forth to tables. There was generous walkway space on the patio so not due to cramped pathways. Overall felt service was subpar and lacked general customer care. Expected more from Terroni.
Terroni used to be a gem. The food quality and value has noticeably gone down compared to years past. Slobby service.
Came here for lunch and we sat in the patio. The service was okay, the table wasn t wiped or cleaned in between services and the appetizers were severely under salted. Not to mention we found a hair in our mushroom dish. Expected a lot better, pretty disappointed.
Pasta was amazing shaved truffle on top was delicious. Pizza was really good highly recommend
Everything was great except the oddly bitter tasting olive oil. And no balsamic with it? Nooooo!
Thanks Rodrigo for being an attentive and fun waiter. Food was amazing. Especially current specials like the Fiore Di Zucco and the Abruzzo themed Primi and Secondi. Only one tiny thing was negative - the olive oil served with the bread was super bitter and unpleasant. Hard pass. But it can be overlooked because everything else was so good.
From appetizers to desserts, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The Tonnarelli Alla Norcina & the Fried Zcchinni Blossoms were absolutely delicious. I am still salivating on the thought of both dishes. Service was also really good; I will definitely be returning.
Yum! I got the terra al noche (I might have butchered that name- it s the pasta with the truffles) which is handmade with flour flown in from France. Carbon footprint aside, this has got to be among one of my favourite pasta dishes I ve tried at a restaurant. The truffles on top were a nice touch. Very rich and creamy. Didn t try the tiramisu but heard rave reviews from a colleague
Food poisoning!!...Ate here and have not stopped going to the washroom...
Awesome interior and exterior. Awesome patio. Awesome, happy, amazing service. Awesome wide range, authentic menu options, including many vegetarian options. Awesome tasting food. Awesome tasting drinks. Just all round awesome.
Server was very good at suggesting dishes and drinks.
Amazing atmosphere and food, gorgeous spacious patio. Very charming spot. The burrata and pasta were fire Food
Came for some coffee and pastries with friends at the patio, it was a bit too sunny so inside out was great. They have a massive table upstairs. Very tasty bombolini and some options from the little market
Krista served us on the patio and I really enjoyed her service. Very friendly, always smiling and with a good sense of humor. Thank you
Kayla was amazing!
Nice place, food is tasty but the portions could have been larger.
My sister got food poisoning from the food that was served to her.
Delicious food, and a really cool atmosphere. It is a bit pricey, and the portions are smaller than we would have liked for what we paid. But all in all it was a positive experience.
Food was great but the service was better! Laurel was absolutely amazing, she gave us recommendations and overall was just such a sweet person. Would come back again just because of the service alone!!
Laurel is kind and talented
An italian colleague suggested here and we loved it. The place is beautiful. I believe it used to be a courtroom at some time. Pizza comes uncut and is delicious I ordered 4 seasons (quattro stagioni) and all parts tasted amazing.
It was a great environment appetizers were great overall was busy and Id come again
Great meal. Very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Always a good time.
Solid space for tranquility, visiters to Toronto cant miss this space, an oasis of cool.
Good place but a bit disappointed the Garganelli Geppeto and pizza were good. Ravioli aí formaggi with tomato sauce was undercooked (3 people in my table confirmed), which was surprising. Then the Cavetelli Agnello was also undercooked, another surprise. And the olive oil was very bitter, more than usual for a high end olive oil.
Was disappointed by the dinner experience at terroni. The waitress had a great wine bottle suggestion but did not serve and refill our wine glasses at all. The food was basic and was honestly not worth the price we paid.
Tasty food, attentive (and quick!) service, and great atmosphere. Recommended.
Pizza was not as special, tried it multiple times when coming, however all the other food is super good and atmosphere is great too, Id keep coming back for sure.
Apparently Thursday is the night that lasagna is their special. Three of the four at our table ordered lasagna a feel that buying a frozen lasagna from a supermarket would have given them better quality ..there was little cheese, meat was almost absent and it was dry. Terroni is supposed to be the epicentre of Italian dining. Sad that last night didn t even come close to even supermarket quality.
Basil pesto is a must have!
Amazing seafood paste
Excellent service and delicious food. A good amount of seating options but the patio was lovely and very comfy.
Just great! The food was wonderful and perfectly cooked. The service was amazing. The wine selection was superb. This place is well worth going too
They wouldnt accomodate my food allergies. In this day and age, thats terrible. The waiter should have helped me find an alternative on the menu, but he didnt even offer. Dietary restrictions: They couldnt care less.
This is a restaurant that I always come to once or twice a year. I came back after a year, but it seems that not only the interior has changed, but the food has also changed. The food is terrible and the service is terrible. The bread and pizza are cold, the pasta noodles are very hard, and the flavor is terrible. I will never come back again.
Recently went to Terroni on Queen and left feeling really disappointed. The food quality was ok but I was mostly dismayed by the level or lack of service by the waiter and the food preparation in the kitchen. I felt like I was for permission and had no say in how my meal should be served. Needless to say there are many great options in the city and I can t wait to explore them. First impressions do count!!
I have sat on writing this review because Terroni USED to be terrific dining experience and I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt. Unfortunately my past two visits (Queen location) have left a lot to be desired surrounding the quality of the dishes. During my second to last visit, my friend and I ordered a pasta dish and pizza which we had decided to share. The pasta dish came out barely warm, unseasoned, and the portion was barely enough to feed a child. The pizza (MAMA MIA!) came unevenly baked - How does a thin crust pizza flop when lifted??? How is the crust near burnt but the rest of the pizza is slightly under-baked??? The pizza was also very bland tasting. The place was loud and very dimly lit and lent nothing to an Italian style dining experience. This is a far cry to the Terroni I used to enjoy going to. The place just felt like a large industrial kitchen with somewhat nice design elements. The food and drink prices are absolutely ridiculous when compared to portion and quality of ingredients. There is, in my opinion, zero value for dollar for the dining experience. The entire time I was eating my going-cold-fast meal was how I could recreate the dishes better and cheaper at home. My most recent visit, with another friend, had the very same outcome. This time I said not a word of complaint, but it was my friend who commented on the poor quality of the food throughout the drinks and meal. I am sure that the owners will mention all sorts of reasons/excuses but maybe if they had put in less money on what was likely a very expensive reno and instead put that money into maintaining high ingredients and dining standards, there would be fewer of us noticing a huge decline in what was once a very nice restaurant. I would give each of my last two dining experiences a zero stars if able to.
Delicious food, Terroni didn t disappoint. Likely one of the best Italian spots in the city. Highly recommend!
Its predictably good. Consistent, fresh, yummy for years. Reno on Queen street location is great, feels more mature but still friendly. Good for friends or family. Have always had good experiences with the staff.
Reserved table was a booth closest to kitchen. Music too loud. Service mediocre & intact 1 told me I couldn t have Parmesan for my meal. Little interaction with server. 2 orderef the lamb dish, I would have sent it back. Minuscule fragments of lamb, abundance of pasta & blah! Too pricey. The apps were delicious, should have ordered more of those. The cocktail was so pricey & terribly watered down. Won t be returning.
Ive heard a lot about this place. I came to try it, everything was great. Food was as expected based on everything I read and seen. Service was good and my evening was great. Check it out if you like pasta and you in the area
Aunt (55)/Niece (24) both had (its SO GOOD) the Tonnarelli alla Norcina (black truffle shavings, spicy sausage, pecorino cheese & garlic in a buttery sauce). Were not dessert ppl but are here! Had the Hazelnut Tiramasu (Tiramasu a la Nocciola). BRENNAN was our server and couldnt have done a better job. We were in heaven. Great laughs, amazingly delicious food and nothing needed as Brennan is a fantastic & fun server (thanks!). We love it here and continue to come back over and over - well worth it.
Went with some friends and had a wonderful time. The hosts were friendly and quick in getting us seated on this busy night. Our server, Ali, was attentive to our table, and extremely helpful as Im not familiar with Italian dining. The menu is vast and flexible to my lactose intolerance, my friends vegan lifestyle, and anothers gluten intolerance (the website has a list). The unisex washroom was spacious and clean, with a change table. I did enjoy learning a bit of Italian as I washed my hands. My only issue is the music level. It was very loud and I found it difficult to communicate with our server sometimes. But he was very patient with me and kindly repeated himself when I couldnt hear him. Thank you so much! Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegan options, which is happily welcomed in the vegetarian circle. The website has a list of dishes that are or can be modified.
As a local, I walked in on a Saturday late afternoon to dine by myself at the bar as I ve done for the past few years - There were several single seats available at the bar with purses/backpacks on them and acknowledged by the Hostess - She told me that the bar upstairs was opening in 15 minutes and subsequently ignored me from that point forward while I waited. Ended up leaving minutes after. I have lived around the corner for years and have unfortunately noticed the decline in service and attitude of this place in the past while - Not worth it any more. Better options in the hood.
The food was good but the service sucked. Our waiter Alistair was kind of arrogant and full of himself. He didnt make an effort to bond with us. He basically did what he wanted with our orders. We were starving and he did not want to take our orders for main dish before appetizers. Some of us didnt want appetizers and he didnt want to take our main course orders. I also asked him to take a photograph of the group and he never helped us with that. Some of us didnt like his attitude. There was a problem with the lighting also. Not happy at all with the service provided. I will spend my money where I get a nice treatment.
Back Feb 25,2024. Braised short ribs, fried calamari and cornetto for dessert. Service was good, large party and very busy but they got it right. All excellent. Prior visits multiple locations; Pizza and appetizers were all very good, great wine selection. Been several times. Service is ok. Wait staff have a bit of attitude sometimes, not always. Still ok service. I just laugh at the attitude. Still bringing me good food.
Very good tomatoe sauce. The best I ate in a restaurant
OUR SERVER ALISTAIRE WAS AMAZING my boyfriend and I were very impressed by his knowledge on the different kinds of dishes on the menu and his recommendations of what mains and appetizers to get were 10/10 PHENOMENAL alistaire provided literally the best service ever
Pizza was so good.
The worst pasta ive ever had. The vibe and atmosphere was like an ideal reataurant, but the foods were super weak and didnt worth the price especially carbonara, do not order it u may eat just a bunch of wheat flour. (im not sure this is the right name on the menu, but a thing like cream sauce and just the noodles)
Very good food and great service - pizza and pasta all completely homemade. Definitely coming back
Nice plays. Good food
Food was amazing. Drinks were great. Service was ok. Little bit slow. Changed waiters for us mid meal so we had to reorder some of the drinks we had already ordered.
An hour late being ready for our reservation. Rude server. Minimum price for bottle of wine $65.00 Ridiculous.
Booked a reservation and the table was overbooked :(
Standing right in front of this girl for so long many people came after me and she s helping all these other people before me weird energy but they re clearly understaff on a Saturday won t be coming back. Some brown girl with a burgundy top if you want watch the cameras to see her ignore me
Food was good, pizza crust was nice and thin, gluten free menu for my partner was really helpful. Service was slow and our waitress didn t seem to care about us. Disappeared a lot.
Liked what I ordered. However, a friend ordered the Ravioli Di Zio Paperone and it was delicious . Highly recommend that as a main dish, it will not disappoint. Wheelchair accessibility: The location on the Queen Street has a bathroom on the bottom of the stairs and is NOT wheelchair accessible. The door to enter if I can recall is wide; however, there are two doors to enter and each one is on the opposite of the other. So the first door is to the right and the other is to the left. There is enough space for a person in a wheelchair to angle their way in. The chairs are removable and can just be put away to accommodate wheelchairs. The halls are a bit narrow but can steel accommodate someone. I recommend calling ahead and asking to reserve a seat at a convenient location. The waitress was pleasant and great at being accommodating.
Their upstairs is wonderful - even had a DJ. The service was exceptional and every plate was really good. The pizza is consistently good at all their locations but, based on ambiance, this one might be my favourite. Tried & true.
Great spot .love the new renos. Food and service always great!
The Terroni queen back patio is the BEST. We moved to another city and miss this restaurant so much! It is a great Italian dinner spot in the city.
A Toronto favourite for over 30 years, always delicious. Various locations downtown , always busy try to call ahead for a reservation, you won t be disappointed.
Been here 3 times and I can surely say that I will not go back. Overall, Terroni is pretty mid. Pastas lacked depth, pizza had too much salt, sides were not memorable (and lacked salt). Would rather spend my time going to the many other delicious Italian spots in Toronto. Good vibes and service but food is definitely not worth the visit.
I had to ask for chili oil four times because the staff kept forgetting. My food was cold by the time the oil came to the table
One can never be disappointed with this place, Incredible experience for dinning in Toronto, the service was top notch and I don t have to say anything about the food it was just perfect
Delicious food, charming staff, easy location - overall a complete delight
What madness. How could you charge $33.00 for a bowl that s 3/4 empty and then tell me that s the portion size? C mon Terroni do better. Queen street location.
In an atmosphere that strives for nicety, the reality is marred by steep prices. The gnocchi lacked the desired seasoning, while the dessert and wine glass played their roles adequately. However, the climax was a solo bill of $90, featuring a tomato mozza salad, straightforward tomato sauce gnocchi, and a chocolate cake with a glass of red. Regrettably, my dining experience took an unexpected turn as the waitress persistently bumped into my chair during the evening. Despite my attempts to create space, this recurring inconvenience significantly impacted my overall enjoyment. I share this feedback in the hope that it contributes to a more considerate and enjoyable atmosphere for future patrons.
Best in Toronto great service, great food Thank you, perfect selection of wine Food
Omg this used to be one of our favs. But after tonight we won t come back .. incredibly over priced and portion sizes ridiculously small
We were shocked at the prices for such small quantities. Never used to be like this. Had the ravioli with squash - got 10 really small raviolis $28.. wine was brought and it looked like a sample size .. said 5 oz no way .. was a joke . I had spaghetti Limone .. it was just pasta with a bit of lemon juice, few leaves of spinach and a few shavings of parm.$25 .. so many other restaurants which are delicious and reasonable in price.. we used to love this place .. they just lost a customer . Our meal was $170 ugh
Beautiful place, excellent food and super good service!!!!!
Horrible and intimidating experience!!! We wanted a pizza (without ham) for a variety of reasons including food allergies and also religious considerations, they said we cannot remove it since its their policy! Accommodating food for people with allergies is a MUST!!! Especially when its about taking off a topping which is not an essential element of the recipe but rather an extra ingredient. Such a frustrating experience, we will report further.
