220 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M5B 2H1, Canada
Chic, upmarket Italian place featuring elevated Italian cuisine & an expansive wine list.
The letters OMFG best express how delicious the Tuna tartare was. It’s been about 4 hours now and I’m ready to go back and order it again. Absolutely outstanding. The overall space was quite loud, but the tuna tartare made it all ok. Apple and Pear crumble for desert was also delicious, but doesn’t come close to the tuna. A substantial wine list along with a huge selection of other alcoholic drinks was also available. Did I mention how good the tuna tartare was? 🤤🤤🤤
Fantastic pasta and good portion size. One of the better carbonara’s I’ve had in the city, very flavourful and creamy. The orecchiette was also delicious and perfectly done. Great value and experience overall
Walked in right before their last call, staff were friendly and welcoming. Ordered Carbonara and Alla Norma pasta. It's hard to find a Carbonara this good in Toronto, simply was GREAT! Temperature, timing, flavour and presentation were on point.
I’m going to be completely honest with this review. Thought this place might have good food because it’s cute and the prices are high. Was looking for bougie yummy vibes but was very disappointed. 4 different plates and they were all bad. The gnocchi was overcooked and taste gross. The only way my friend could finish it was by putting a different sauce on it he rated it a 1/10. The carbonara was the worse I’ve ever had in my life absolutely disgusting I couldn’t even look at it. My friend switched plates with me so I ate the idk the name but it was also disgusting and oily. The risotto was ok, not the best, wouldn’t even enjoy eating it. The drinks were also gross but at least it was strong. The calamari fritti and octopus was yummy. The serve was not even present and had an attitude. Will not be returning here and do not recommend. Overall very cute place but with horrible food and service.
Trattoria is a decent enough place to eat in the Eaton Center if you're looking for more than fast food. It was pretty full towards 8 pm onwards just before the mall closed. As for the food I wasn't all that impressed with the quality however the presentation was decent. The tuna was a tad rubbery in texture. The eggplant pasta was a semi filling bowl filled with vegetables. All in all I felt the portion sizes could've been a bit bigger. The chocolate cake for desert was also pretty good with the ice cream. I didn't mind my experience here but I'm not sure I would return to eat with other restaurants nearby.
Nice ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable price. A great place to go in Eaton center. Too busy chatting with my friends and forgot to take pictures of the main dishes. Here are tiramisu and cannolo. Both delicious.
A really beautiful restaurant, but in my opinion the value for money isn't really there. Portion sizes on the dishes are really small considering how expensive they are. You won't come out of here spending under $30. I do recommend the mushroom pizza, as the flavours were pretty good and it was light. Our server was nice but we were kind of tucked away on one side of the upstairs seating.
We enjoyed a nice Sunday evening dinner here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Service was fast and friendly. Our drinks, appetizers and meal all arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant is located inside of CF Eaton’s Centre and most closely accessible if you enter the mall from the Root’s store sign on Yonge St. The menu has a good amount of variety in terms of food, drinks and desserts. The seating provides a view of the outdoors (Trinity Square). Prices are pretty reasonable but likely reflect the smaller portion size of the meals. I would be happy to return for another visit.
Good food good life
Wonderful...
Had lunch here for the first time with some co-workers, the service was great and our server was attentive. The restaurant was packed during lunch time so it was quite noisy and the food came out relatively quickly. Our table ordered the calamari for the table and it was average. I ordered the Truffle Risotto ($36 before tax) as the main, and it was probably the worst risotto I have ever had. It had truffle pieces on it but somehow it did not really taste much like truffle, the risotto was also very sour. In summary, the service was decent in my experience but the food was below average for the prices. I will likely not return in the future with all the other options available around the Eatons Centre.
Great and fun atmosphere. Excellent service and the food is so tasty.
Food was great as last time but this time the service was a bit much. He was a little too sales focused that on the service. Was also very loud where we were in the second floor so was hard to have a conversation.
Amazing food. Pasta, Seafood or Pizza, you can not go wrong. Save room for dessert, the Lemon tart and Crumble were fantastic. Our server Will was awesome! Thank you for a fantastic meal! Recommended dishes
Very average food. We tried the pizza and gnocchi, and it was okay. Service felt very rushed, although the ambiance is nice.
First time weve ever left an Italian table hungry. I think the food was good, but I cant be sure because there was so little of it that it flew past my tastebuds before they knew what hit them. We wanted to enjoy and savour a nice meal. Instead, we were served appetizer sized portions. I shaved 3 little shrimp razor-thin, and pushed 3 miniscule clams around my $30 plate of seafood linguini trying to stretch the meal - which included wine and appetizer - out to half an hour. Overpriced, underwhelming, poor value.
The unreasonably expensive not tasty at all. I waist my money and left the restaurant hangry. Very poor menu. I extremely not recommend this place. Food
Enjoyed the pizza, salad and service $29 for a 9oz glass of barely drinkable wine was excessive. Dont expect to return. Food : 3/5
Great service, booking essential. Food was nice, Arctic Char recommended. Wine prices are very expensive.
I m in the restaurant as we speak. Dirty looks aside for asking for no cheese - everyone around me got their food before me and my meal was missing stuff once it finally came. Unbelievable. Oh and don t expect any refills on your water. I d tip 0.01 but that s generous lol can t wait to eat and get out of here. I ve never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. Dietary restrictions: No cheese is seen as evil it seems??? Where is my food lol
Service was not great at all. Was seated in the middle of hallway where people are walking when there are lots of empty tables. Food is ok but waiter was not friendly and not caring.
We had a great experience at this restaurant. Very good service. Tasty food and welcoming atmosphere. My husband ordered a Bolognese lasagna and I ordered a mushroom pizza. Both were delicious. The menu is varied and the prices are compatible with the quality. I recommend!! Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free pizza.
Pasta servings are small for its price and doesn t taste good. Service was okay. wouldn t recommend.
The 12oz prime New York striploin was good but could have used more butter. Less butter would have been healthier, though. It has a great atmosphere and is clean. God bless America.
Overall 3.5 stars experience. We got the shrimp cocktail for starters, the lasagna and linguine di mare for entrées, and as dessert; lemon tart and tiramisu. You d imagine for the price point that they are at, they would be doing a lot better. The table next to us was basically being used to stack all dirty dishes. Like did they not have enough room in the kitchen for it to be stacked away? Very unprofessional. Our servers were constantly changing, but that i don t care because i get how it can be busy. When i asked if they could make me a Cacio é pepe, the waiter had no clue what that was. Quite odd for a medium-high end ITALIAN restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was good, i liked the presentation on the seaweed. The linguine was average but i liked the amount of seafood in it - good ratio to the pasta. The lasagna was terrible and a lazy take on a lasagna. The lasagna was just the pasta pastry stacked on top of one another and covered in parm. And the sauce was not part of the pasta but all around the plate instead. Cooking it that way prevents the pasta from cooking in the sauce so i m not sure what the intention of that was. The lemon tart was good, not too sweet and good amount of lemon. The tiramisu had to be one of the worst i have ever had. Again, another lazy take of a signature plate. Instead of soaking the biscuit in the coffee/rum/or whatever sauce, it was simply placed on top of the filling? And then whipped cream sprayed on top. That caused the biscuit to be crunchy instead of soft not a tiramisu! Only good was service received from Edwin. Dietary restrictions: A lot of pork on the menu
I love eating here. The food is delicious, the service fantastic! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available Food : 5/5 |
Great restaurant. Good food but server never asked us how the food was until paying the bill.
Food was decent. Prosciutto platter was a little bizarrely plated, not quite what I expected. Got sat in back corner with a lovely view of some homeless tents as volunteers handed out Narcan. Had to get up to find a server to get our bill. Convenient location to be inside the mall but Definitely could have been a better experience
Really enjoyed it here. The pizza and the desserts were magnificent! A little hard to find - look for it level 2 near the entrance closest to Dundas in the eatons centre.
Great pizza, service also excellent.
Pizza and tiramisu were good, but pastas were bland.
Great for lunch or dinner with a friend but also for working lunches or conference dinners. Pizza is great, pasta too, and try the kale and ricotta or tge shrimp salad for a healthy alternative.
Exceptionally good Italian cuisine. We had a Margherita pizza and the pan seared lasagna. Both were excellent. The oven baked bread appetizer was also delicious. Enjoy!
Great food, great vibe and the staff was nice too. I tried the pasta and loved it!
The pizza was good the pasta I m not thrilled Service needs improvement. We had a good time though the atmosphere was great. Food : 1/5
Lunch was good however they do not take cash. I noticed this the last time I was there. Thankfully I had slipped a card into my purse. I likely won t return as I really feel they should be taking cash.
Quite pricey but the bowl size of their pasta is pretty small. Taste is good though . They also lack options in chicken .
shrinkflation hits this place hard. you see it in the portion sizes and how they pour their drinks. the latter was really hard to take. but they sure know how to coach you into tipping more then needed. tried it, one and done.
Trattoria Mercatto is one of my favorite spots, especially for a relaxed weekend lunch when it s less busy. The pan-seared lasagna with delicious tomato sauce is a standout, and the arancini with saffron risotto, mozzarella, and tomato filetto is fantastic. The pizza is great too.
Pesto pasta was not on the menu but we asked from chef to make it for us :)
Drink were delicious
Excellent restaurant, we enjoyed a nice dinner. Service was fast and friendly. Located inside of CF Eaton s Centre! Food
The tiramisu and the coffee are to die for. This octopus salad was amazing
Pasta, pizza were amazing. Too many fruit cakes working tho, gotta tone down the sass. Food
Love love love it !!!
Fantastic
Very good! The orecchiette are very good
Used to come here in the 2010s because it was quite convenient and had an upscale vibe. Unfortunately, my last visit was very disappointing. We had made reservations for 6:30 for 7 people. Hostess informed us out reservation was for 7, which I asked for her to double check that was not the patron count. Left and returned 10 minutes later where a different host proceeded to confirm we had a reservation for 7 patrons at 6:30. As we were waiting for a couple stragglers, one colleague ordered a glass of wine. It never came. In addition, it was difficult to get our water refilled, with our waiter only coming by on occassion. Colleagues commented on their food being overly salted and steaks being overcooked. I found my pizza to be good, however, the dough was slightly undercooked towards the centre. Space looked very good, with a cozy atmosphere with soft lighting. Overall, quite a disappointing experience.

Excellent place
Great place, great atmosphere, in Eaton Centre, and most importantly at acceptable prices.
Amazing place to take the family or watch the game with a few buds!! The staff was so helpful and nice. The food was delicious and the beer was cold. Kate was an amazing bartender, she has great energy that makes me want to come back!!
An excellent pasta with tomato sauce, prawns and scallops!
The seafood pasta is not what we expected and we all agree it s a little below average. Apparently they changed the chef two weeks ago so the pasta sauce has changed be aware of this change! Pizza is good, tuna tartare is ok. Food
Excellent gastronomic experience. Vegetarian options: Options of pasta and sauces.
I got the seafood pasta, portion was quite small and it was quite bland. I heard they are better known for their pizzas. The atmosphere and the service was great, but the environment was very loud.
The place is ok, the server is very nice but the food is not really good
Parking: As this is a restaurant connected to the mall, any parking spaces are tied to the availability of parking at Easton Centre. Food
I dont know how this place is not more popular. They have really good food and amazing pizzas. Perfect dough, crust, cheese and sauce. The mushroom pizza is probably the best pizza Ive had in my life, and Ive had lots!
I just had the worst seafood pasta I ve ever had I m sorry to say. I love coming to Mercatto as a treat when I m in the area, but you guys should seriously consider scrapping your seafood pasta recipe. Gross, buttery, watery sauce that pools at the bottom like a soup. I also see from the pictures that other people s dishes contained mussels and calamari, but mine contained a measly 5 clams and 3 shrimp for $30. Sorry to leave a bad review :( service is great and I love the staff here, super friendly
Great place. Yummy food. Will be back soon.
Love the pizza and cannolli for dessert here! I like their pan fried calamari (not deep fried) and the pizzas are amazing! I normally share the pizza with a friend and ask for extra chilli as well as hot and honey sauce to drizzle over your pizza
The pasta carbonara was saltier than expected. The restaurants waitress blamed the Canadian meat for being salty.
Great flavors, portions are not big but food was fresh and delicious. If service would have been better I could have order more things. The waiter was flat, serious, and not enjoying his job.
Great place for a client meeting. Arancini, clam pasta, and lemon tart were great. So was the service. Visit the Eaton Centre location, so you can burn off calories with some shopping.
Amazing food! And they even made our experience so special by bringing out a birthday affogato for my girlfriends birthday Great pizza, great apps, definitely recommend! Food
Maybe it would have been better if we sat inside for service but the patio was neglected to say the least. Took 15 mins to get water- apps came before our drink order and just general oversight by our waiter all night. Others around us had to get up to ask for service. Food was ok- calamari was blah. Pastas both very salty. Drinks were the only thing we really enjoyed. There are way better places to eat- disappointing evening.
I ordered the insalate Verde and the Orecchiette Pugliese, which were both very delicious by the way. The food came pretty fast and was well cooked.
High quality Italian fare. Delicious pasta and appetizers. Lots of options and very accommodating for vegetarians.
We headed here for dinner yesterday and we were running on a tight time-frame as we had to check out of our hotel at 8 and head back home, out of town. Made a reservation for 7, no wait upon arrival, server was Mariah - a complete gem! We kindly let her know that there was no pressure but we are in a hurry and will order all our food for dine in and take out right off the bat and take the bill so we can just leave immediately... she was so understanding! Within minutes, our food and drinks were served - we indulged in pasta alla norma, tortiglioni alla bolognese, and ricotta gnocchi... all was delicious, fresh, and portion sizes were perfect. Mariah was so efficient, she had our take-out ready right on time and settled our bill within requested time-frame. Excellent customer service! We highly recommend this spot and well definitely be back!
I love this place! What makes it a favourite is the tiramisu and the latte! Best Latte ever! And every time, never disappointed!
The truffle fries they used to have before were so good but now the fries look like theyre from mcdonalds and the sauce has been changed too and it dont even feel like truffle fries, no seasoning on fries too. Miss them old fries
Good food and good service
Not bad
Amazing food and service! Definitely try the polpette and the pan seared lasagna! Delicious! Wheelchair accessibility: I was able to sit in my wheelchair at the table comfortably
I had their pizza, it was good made from their stone oven but was a but pricey for the size. The staff are all nice and friendly. The ambiance was ok , spacious but it was loud.
Great atmosphere, friends or professionals can easily have a good time Super friendly staff Super fast and easy order Nice variety of choices on the menu Food was salty Portions
Beautiful setting, service was good. Food was just about ok but pricey for what it was. Decent alcohol selection. Vegetarian options: Veg options available but limited
Everything was fantastic. The only detractor was the large amount of homeless foraging through the trash, but hey! The city of Toronto is handing out that city branded drug paraphernalia, so we can all sleep with a clear conscience.
Lady at reception not willing to accept new customers when place is quite empty!
Well,... what a surprise! This restaurant sits in the Eaton Center in Toronto, but this is not your typical mall restaurant. Classic, homemade pasta... a very nice atmosphere and excellent service. My wife had the homemade gnocchi in a light red sauce - absolutely wonderful. I had the seafood linguine, shrimp, mussels and calamari in a light and delicious cream sauce - best Ive had! Highly, highly recommend this as a spot for a great culinary experience!
Pretty tasteless bolognese (had to ask for salt) but our server was amazing. Attentive, responsive, warm and pro-active. Brother...you are one of the very best. High five.
Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and professional.
The food was delicious but this me and my friends third time going and the same server has ASKED for a tip. And the first time he forced us to give him a tip. We are college students and it s not like he doesn t get an hourly wage. What will he get by interrogating us to get a tip. And tipping is optional the last time I heard, what is this behaviour?
Not the best italian restaurant in town. Got the carbonara and it was flavorless and with no salt. Definitely not the original recipe of carbonara (I am an italian chef). To make the carbonara you have to create a creamy mix with yolk, Pecorino, Parmigiano, a bit of cooking water and salt and pepper. This creates the distinct flavor and experience of a carbonara. DO NOT ADD ONION OR PARSLEY TO THE CARBONARA!!! Or do not call ot carbonara!
Pollo ala diavola is a menu item I go over and over at this place. Its hard to order anything else when I get here, but other items are also great. Service could be better as they are a bit slow.
Food is very bland and tasteless. Definitely disappointed as the rest of the reviews made the food out to be very flavourful. I would say this is the equivalent of Italian cafeteria food.
Nice view of the homeless encampment from the second floor. Wonderful place to watch the decline of the once great City of Toronto while you eat your meal.
Decent Italian restaurant in Toronto. You ll need a reservation to be seated. The food was okay but the drinks were better.
We popped in after the theater. We were greeted and served by very friendly staff who were efficient and helpful. The pizza and wine were perfect.. I recommend this casual dining experience.
Delicious food, great atmosphere
Spicy chicken was great!
Nice experience after running the Toronto marathon! The food tastes good I ate pizza, pasta, salad, and wine nothing extraordinary but comfort food! The price was affordable and the services were great! A guy from Brazil I guess. The ambient it s cook to enjoy with friends! Pricing: hmm I didnt pay sorry. But It wasnt expensive!
Food is great, well done with the freshest ingredients. The atmosphere is on point, not too fancy and yet sophisticated and upscale, with a friendly and efficient service. Prices are fair, with a variety of items to choose from. I highly recommend it.
Amazing restaurant inside the Eaton Centre with super delicious food! We had a great time and really loved it!
The food is not much Italian and everything was soaking in oil. They surely could get a better chef, as the staff is already great and vibe of place is very nice.
The patio is so fun! Thoroughly enjoyed a work lunch. I enjoyed the mushroom pizza but not the wood fired dough as much. It was a bit too dry.
Always is good to come to Eaton centre and after the shopping swing by for a beer. In Mercatto. They always have good service.
The food was excellent and its has a great atmosphere. The service is a tad slow. You just wait around for the server to walk by.
Really not bad, Definitely take this rating with a grain or 2 of salt cause its only from one experience and its really not fair To make final conclusions from a one time experience. And of course dont forget that individual people will have individual preferences which excuse their ideas of what is good and what is Not. I had seared tuna with a whole bunch of pickled vegetables I think it was. It was like way too much pickled vegetables. They were too hard and crunchy and I really dont think that the sourness of the veggies with the flavor of the tuna blended well. The tuna was really good but I also really like tuna and I dont really like pickled vegetables so like I said, do you love pickle vegetables and tuna, this might be pickled vegetable and tuna heaven.
One of the best italan resturant ..like the food and the vibs .. If they just add more vegan/No pork options
Food taste good, was a long wait. Washrooms need to be more clean
Very nice restaurant. Fast friendly service at any time. The staff pays attention to dietary needs and helps to accommodate. The food is really good, tasty and well presented. Food
I went here a while back and it was so bad in every aspect. First of all it wasnt that crowded in the resturant but they were playing pop music so loud and the busy kitchen was also right in front of us that I got a headache. When we asked if we could change our seats to the end of the restaurant which seemed more quite the waitress said no. I ordered the mushroom pizza but it was kinda soggy and very bland however I couldnt get a hold of the waitress to get salt pepper or even napkins. By the time she was near our table again I asked her for ketchup instead and she was so offended by my request that she said I would prefer marinara. I said no and just assumed they didnt have ketchup. 5 minutes later she just put a small bowl of ketchup on the table without speaking to me and left. All in all terrible atmosphere, terrible service with an attitude and very meh food. And very expensive for what is being offered. 100% Would not recommend
Bar area has the worst tables. Chairs dont fit under the table and the metal shelf cuts into your thighs. Gluten free options are good. Dietary restrictions: Had gluten free and it was very good. My complaint is the seating in the bar area. It is the worst.
Went with 2 friends for lunch, and the food was outstanding. My friend had mobility issues and they had no issues accommodating us. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was outstanding
its a mall Italian resto, still since Italian resto I was expecting that their Carbonara will definetely be good,a good Italian restaurant has a good carbonara pasta but,,I was disappointed the carbonara is very far from any carbonara Ive eaten the taste is dull , its like its not carbonara at all and even the other pasta we ordered is not that great so If I craving for some pasta dish I wouldnt be coming back here I guess on the other hand the server was pleasant and the atmosphere is good for family and couples
The service was excellent. Our server Luiss attention to detail was exceptional and greatly appreciated. The food was well prepared but portions were a little on the small side. A hidden gem in Torontos downtown core. Highly recommend to all.
The pasta servings are a bit small for price. Our waiter, Luys, from the Eaton centre location, really added to our experience. He is reason I would come back :)
Every time we celebrate my birthday we travel from Montreal to Toronto for the weekend. Arriving on Thursday first thing we do is have dinner at your restaurant. Sitting upstairs service was great and food was excellent like always. We decided to come back for my last dinner before going back home on Sunday. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:15pm, Saturday April 6th. We asked the hostess to be seated at a specific table near the window and we were told NO,instead she seated us right beside the entrance of the kitchen and 30 second later gave the table to a young couple. We mentioned it to her and she ignored us. The young couple ordered one drink each and left. We one the other hand ordered appetizers, main course and a bottle of wine. The reason why Im giving this negative review is all my years of coming to your restaurant me and my husband have never been treated like that. I found out her name is Ally. Hope she will learn the importance to respect customers request.
Expensive but that s fine! But is the food worth it? Doubt so! Recommended dishes
Great food and service, the arancini are delicious
From my experience, one word covers its excellence; EXPLICIT
I went in on Saturday 04.15.2024. Boy was I furious, very bad service. I was on my lunch break here in downtown Toronto Eaton Centre, and I ordered Gnocchi pasta for $29 and was very surprised of the portion I received. when I pulled the lid off, the dish was only less than half full, and there was only about 14 gnocchi in there. ($2 per gnocchi). I was extremely disappointed with the dish and went back. the response I got that is how we serve the pasta, that is the portion. Very bad service, very bad portions. I dont know if they believed me or not but that was the worst experience ever.
As always, good food,
Disappointing Dining Experience Our visit to Mercatto started with excitement, but the lack of warm greetings and poorly chopped fries left us disappointed. Despite speaking with the manager, who wasnt apologetic, we decided to leave and find a better dining option. Hoping for improvements in the future.
Terrible service ,, we have ordered fries for our starter but it was horrible also the manager was so rude & inattentive
Looking for a great dining experience? This spot might just be your go-to! With amazing food and a welcoming staff that always go above and beyond, youre guaranteed to have a memorable time here. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded on weekends, but dont let that stop you from giving it a try!
Came in with 12 people on a Tuesday after work. The place was barely occupied. Manager said he didn t have space/ staff to serve us! Crazy. Lost business for 15 on a business outing.
Ordered the prosciutto appetizer platter and calamari to start. Both very good. My daughter had ricotta gnocchi, her favorite...my wife had the linguine de mar, very good. My son had the prosciutto pizza and wife. Son and wife very satisfied with their food. I ordered the pepperoni pizza which unfortunately had some black, burnt spots on the crust. I know it is oven baked, roasted but this was just a bit too much... otherwise except for this issue we were all very happy with food and service. I can recommend.
unpleasant service by the daytime hostess. red hair. there are plenty of other restaurants nearby and i will not be returning
I tried pizza and it was good
Loved the food there, especially Tiramisu at the end. ;)
Was there for lunch with a client yesterday and was VERY disappointed in the service and lack of value for what we ordered. How can 2 salads- JUST LETTUCE and two cappuccinos cost over $50.00? Has the world gone mad? No wonder restaurants are closing! Parking: THe Eaton Centre is under renovation and so is the parking lot- what a mess and so very limited parking!
The restau was pretty crowded at this time but we were able to sit right away just one customer ahead of us at around 5pm. We opt for early dinner, we had steak which is just chewy I didn t really like it but I am giving 5 stars because they re very generous with their parmesan cheese for my carbonara which tastes so good! I love the pancetta on my carbonara with yolk on my plate however their serving is just small. I had the best tiramisu in downtown toronto thus far according to me! And their washroom is very clean however people on wheel chair might need to use outside washroom because it s at the second floor of the restau. Lastly, the background is not that appealing if you are near the glass windows because sadly there are people who are living in tent outside. Parking: Inside Eaton Centre.
Had dinner here yesterday and was very pleased with the entire experience. Bray, thank you for the great service! Food
The service upon entering the restaurant was absolutely atrocious. Was greeted by a hostess but walked away into a rest room to blow her nose(?). When she returned, she proceeded to our table (no apologies or explanation). Bad timing. It can happen. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by our server. He was busy (?). It can happen. Ordered pizza, pasta, fries and salad for 3 of us. Server misunderstood and placed an order for calamari instead of pizza. Didn t confirm order with us. That s fine. It can happen. Asked for the bill. Waited almost 10 minutes (restaurant wasn t busy). When the bill was finally presented, calamari was still left on the bill. Finally when the bill was sorted and paid for, the server threw the receipt on the table and walked away. I assume he wasn t happy with 13% tip vs the minimum 18% During the entire time, we didn t complain nor say a word about the service. I understand the service industry isn t easy but what did we do to deserve such treatment from this server? I could have left with NO tip, but was generous enough to leave 13% even after being treated so poorly
Great pastas
I had the tuna albacore and was disappointed with the size and the preparation. Had an affagato after and I wasnt impressed. The ice cream seemed like Ben & Jerrys. The service was great though and I had fun with my friends.
Pretty location but the services left to be desired plus the plate its extremely small gastronomy your stomach will be empty and you will have to pay at the Macdonald next door to satisfy yourself
Waited over 20 minutes after being seated and had to flag down two servers before we were ever greeted by our designated server. Half our mains arrived without utensils to eat with. By the time we flagged down our server for utensils the remaining dishes came out, ours were lukewarm (not great when it includes a raw egg yolk). Second mains came out with the wrong pizza order. They somehow corrected it within 2 minutes but the dough was completely raw. Had to flag down the server yet again to remake. This time the crust was cooked but missing 2 ingredients (one of them cheese!). At this point we were so beyond frustrated we asked to see a manager. He offered to comp the pizza but nothing more. Bill came to find the pizza charge on it and had to wait for the bill to be adjusted. Server blamed lack of staff for all the issues but the place was half empty when we arrived and we noticed her chatting away with a friend at a table before we realized she was the server we were waiting on. This was our first visit and will never come back.
Great atmosphere! We just had drinks.
Had a great experience here. Last week Wednesday, we had no reservation. Large group. Welcoming & accommodating & good food
Superb dinner. Love it
Great spot for casual meal with a friend. The food wasnt amazing given the price. But very nice atmosphere.
Wonderful place highly recommended
Quick sit down Italian food located inside busy Eaton Centre. Ordered the Pan Seared Lasagna, Caesar salad and ice cream dessert. All items tasted great. Bolagnese sauce on the crispy edges lasagna was delicious. Caesar salad was fresh. Finished off with not too sweet scoops of sorbet and ice cream. Next time, we will order pizza as it looks great. Decor of restaurant was modern, good mix of regular and bar seating. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The only downside was that tables are placed very close together, so you can hear neighbors conversations. Parking: Eaton Centre has paid parking garages. Wheelchair accessibility: Located inside Eaton Centre street level for easy wheelchair automated door access.
The food was absolutely delightful. I would give this 5/5 if it were just about the food. Long story short, our waitress was homophobic. I have never had worse service in my life. Me and my partner came in for a date. We are an LGBTQ couple. We were very clearly a couple as we were holding hands. Our server was short and rude with us from the beginning. We noticed she was perfectly kind to other tables. For a restaurant that has a LGBTQ flag on their window, this is extremely unexpected. She served tables that came in after us before we were helped not just with ordering, it was with delivering the food, and bringing our bills. Multiple tables that got in shortly after us got their bills 10-15 minutes before we did. Even though we were done eating before them. She never even said a full sentence to us. When we asked for the bill, all she had to say was separate?. I have never had the inclination to not tip a server. But today I did. I tipped $2 purely out of sympathy, knowing she probably has to tip out the back of house. When we finished paying, she looked at the bill and said did you mean $2? Ive never EVER had a server comment on the tip Ive given before. Wow. If youre LGBTQ and you come to this restaurant, avoid the blonde haired server in her late 20s. If you get her, do yourself a favour and leave. She is clearly homophobic.
Pizza was definitely my favorite! Loved the spice level! Gelato portion was a lot bigger than expected!
Only the name of restaurant is italian the food was really rubbish
Very limited meal options and quanties. The pasta and app portions were really small. No chicken for pizzas or pasta available.
Amazing food and the olive oil to melt in. I asked my amazing server to let me have the rest of my olive oil, and he generously wrapped them for me. I literally ate them with baguette the next day. Besides the great food, definitely try their desserts. Theyre so good.
It was a great experience, Lasagna and chocolate cake were extraordinary
Their menu is small, but they do it well.
Everything was 5/5 amazing from beginning to end of our visit. Would return again soon and recommend to others.
First our server Daryl was the best. So friendly ,and quick to serve us. Didn t take long for our food to come but lack of salt on some and too spicy for others . The best was the shrimp linguini. It had lots of flavour .
Run of the mill just as expected. Typical Toronto mediocre food and service. Almost sure was given a regular milk latte instead of an oat milk one leading to a lot of discomfort.
We were seated on the loft floor, which was quieter and we could enjoy our lunch.
4.3 / 5.0 - better than the current Google score. Close to a 4.4 actually. I can see the reasons. But think of this as a semi traditional Italian Bistro in the mall. So quick hits: 1) Food is well made above average Italian. Don t let the mall fool you. The owners have other locations as well. It s semi-traditional Italian with flare. 2) Pizza was exceptionally- pepperoni were small cups with a nice cheese to sauce balance. We were surprised how tasty. Definitely recommend any pizza (I might consider well done next time - on the fence). 3) Tina albacore salad was nice, but albacore belongs in a can, not seared. So unless you like Albacore- I d pass at $30 - but salad was well rounded. 3) Polpette - 3 Meatballs was really tasty - good size and flavour - but not mind blowing. I d considering ordering again, but not a dealbreaker. Service was pretty strong on a Holiday. Polite, fun, accommodating. They added to the experience. The location is in the Eaton Centre Mall - so I can understand the potential challenges. If I m in the mall I d go again and not hesitate. Well done and appreciate our server.
Everything weve had there has been delicious. The pesto bread and calamari are our favorite appetizers. The Gnocchi, Lasagna and chocolate cake are also delicious. Serving staff are friendly and keep your water topped up. Great place. We go any time we are down in the city.
Was looking for a spot for dinner right after work. Restaurant was busy and looked promising. Ombiance appeared to be pleasant as it was a hot spot for a quick bite after work or shoppers. Wait staff pleasant and attentive. Food...not so much. I had ordered pan seared lasagna, lots of hard noodles, little meat and lots of tomatoes sauce. My cousin had seafood linguine that came in a cereal bowl. Both meals over priced. Short Wine list by the glass and well over priced for the selection they had. Not a huge fan and wouldnt recommend for dinner or even drinks. Not hoping back!
i went here once and i think about this meal all the time (gnochhi and pesto bread thing)
Everything about this place was perfect. Our server was a delight, the food was well made. Had the pepperoni pizza (yum), meatballs (good). The albacore tuna in the tuna salad wasnt my cup of tea, but it was made well. Just wasnt for me with a stronger fish taste, Ahi is more my jam. Their Americano was excellent, but their drip coffee was subpar. Go for the good stuff!
We went for lunch at about 13:00, due to the fact that the restaurant is located in a shopping and business center, there were a lot of office employees at that time, but there were places. Atmospheric place with good cuisine, I liked the squid rings, not overcooked and with a minimum of breading. I recommend tirramissa. I want to come back.
Arrived and realized our show was in 45 minutes. Apologized to our amazing server Cathy who recommended great choices that got us out in 35 minutes after a full meal. Thank you Cathy, thank you Mercatto!
We were a party of 6 and everyone loved their food especially the chitarra alla carbonara. Server was a little too laid back but he met my theatre deadline like he said he would. Lemon olive cake with lemon gelato - delicious!
Food was good but $10 for two small slices of pesto bread and $25 (!) for ONE glass of wine. So don t drink or buy the whole bottle. This is serious price gouging sorry. Food
Had a wonderful shopping day dinner watching some Womens Rivalry Series Hockey on the big screens . Dietary restrictions: GF opinions were delicious and the server seemed knowledgeable.
