House with a rooftop patio offering a chic & chill setting for classic Italian dishes & drinks.
A nice place in the hustle and bustle of the Early Food market. Located on the first floor, there aren’t that many tables. The service here was very good, our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and tentative. The food was good, we had some polenta bread and I had the Rigatoni Bolognese, tasty but it was way too el dente for my liking. I finish the meal with some Italian classic table side panettone, a must try!
Best Italian Food! Had to wait for 40 minutes at 8pm for dinner cus the restaurant is really small and really packed. Then, we had to wait another 30 minutes for food. However, all the wait is really worth it. The food was AMAZING! The Regina Margherita is without a doubt the best pizza in Toronto, an easy 10/10. The cherry tomatoes and mozarella cheese was really good. The thin crust was delicious, there's no flaw. Definitely worth the price. The Risotto Nervosa is decent. I would say it's not worth the price, but still tasted really good. I just thought that the flavours were a little boring, there was nothing wrong with the slow-cooked beef or the risotto. I give it a 8 / 10. The Malfade Ai Funghi was absolutely phenomenal, the fresh pasta tastes really good, and the fact that they made it into malfade, really makes the texture and each bite so crunchy in combination with the flavour. The sauce is not overpowered by truffle sauce and cream, but still super rich. It's the perfect ratio of mushrooms, cream, cheese, and truffle oil. Definitely a 10/10. I highly recommend Trattoria Nervosa. Just be ready to wait!
What a wonderful, authentic place! It feels like stepping into Italy for a little while. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially since I needed dairy-free options. Everything was so good! I’ll even forgive them for not having plant-based milk because the coffee was amazing even without it (though I’d love to have a cappuccino and a dairy-free dessert 😏). Will definitely be back! P
Trattoria Nervosa never fails to impress! We keep coming back for their mouthwatering pizzas – each slice is a perfect balance of crispy crust, fresh toppings, and rich flavor. The lasagna, though, is the true star of the menu – layered with perfectly cooked pasta, savory meat, and gooey cheese, it's simply to die for. To top off the meal, their desserts are a must-try. Whether it’s their creamy tiramisu, or rich chocolate cake, you can’t go wrong. Each bite feels like the perfect ending to an already unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine!
Overall great experience. They only accept walk-in, so I had to wait a few minutes, but the rotation was pretty fast, so I didn't end up waiting too long. The service was very quick. Staff were nice and regularly checked on our table. As for the food, it was great. However, I found the beef a bit tough. Other than that, the food was cooked well, and the flavor was there.
The ambiance of this trattoria is perfect. The dim lighting and cozy feel makes the experience that much more authentic. Matteo’s service was stellar, he came by a few times to check on us, refilled wine promptly and was so kind. We stopped in here on a whim while walking and had quite easily one of the best meals we’ve ever had. With every bite my husband and I looked at each other in awe. Highly, highly recommend.
For my 28th birthday this year, I went to Trattoria Nervosa after work with two of my best friends. The food was spectacular, and the company was just as wonderful! I had the Risotto Nervosa, and it was the best risotto I've ever eaten! The Chocolate Cake was very rich but quite tasty. 10/10 service and somewhere I'd most definitely recommend and return to.
I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The welcoming was great—the manager greeted us with a warm smile, which made us feel immediately at ease. The restaurant itself is cozy, with a beautiful interior design that creates a pleasant atmosphere. We chose to sit on the top patio, which added to the overall experience. However, there were some noticeable issues with the service and food. The waitress who served us seemed unhappy and didn't introduce herself, which affected the overall vibe. Unfortunately, all three dishes we ordered arrived cold. The kale salad with added chicken was oily, even though we specifically requested no oil, and the chicken itself was cold. The pizza had a partially burned crust, which left a noticeable burnt taste. As for the steak, it was cold when it arrived, and even after sending it back to be warmed up, it was returned to us still cold. The staff tried to explain, but it was clear they were not fully familiar with the proper process. While the food had potential to be delicious, these issues significantly impacted our experience. For these reasons, I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars. I hope they can address these concerns to improve the overall dining experience.
Amazing food and service ! The restaurant is really cozy and the mafalde mushroom pasta was phenomenal!
Food = Excellent... Service = Excellent...Price= Reasonable. My only complaint is that they only accept walk ins so you have to arrive around 10-15 mins before noon to get a table, so you wait outside until they let you in...no problem unless its December and its absolutely freezing outside
Would appreciate it if customers were told that they were being charged for water prior. Would request tap water if I knew
Never disappointed! Next level food and service!
Such a disappointment. Cold pizza. Poorly cooked steak and terrible presentation. Completely overpriced.
Super nice waiters. The food was very good! Order Pizza Regina!
Good food, outstanding service and super-friendly staff. The space is a little tight and noisy, otherwise fine.
I recently visited Trattoria Nervosa with friends and the service was fantastic. Starting with the greeter who made sure we were seated in a good spot, from the waiters who were so friendly and open to explaining some items on the menu. The food was delicious and the portions were adequate I ordered the Mafalde al Fungi and the thickness of the pasta and creaminess of the sauce were !! The only reason I m giving 4 stars is because the indoor seating is small, and when it got busy it felt crowded. This makes it a tad difficult to have a conversation and get out of the table as you will be getting too close to your neighbour.
We decided to try this place for some true authentic Italian. Upon arriving we were greeted at the door and told to queue, which was fine. The queuing system is efficient and we waited maybe 20 minutes. Once we got a table, we were offered water and began looking through the menu. We noticed we d be charged $8-9 for the water. Now, the price of the water isn t an issue, but the slight dishonesty/not disclosing the cost is not great business, imo. Maybe you don t mind this, and if not, then great! As we ordered, we noticed our server wasn t overly friendly, but hey, it happens! We went with the house made bread (very tasty and fresh), the malfade al funghi and the rigatoni bolognese. The malfade al funghi was good, and the texture was decent. The rigatoni bolognese tasted fairly plain, unfortunately. I m not sure if they make their own pasta or not, and maybe I shouldn t go into an Italian restaurant assuming they make fresh pasta.. I hate to say it, but it tasted similar to boxed pasta. Also, the restaurant is small and has a good ambiance, but is a little crammed leaving you feeling like you re in the way. We were seated next to the cash. To sum up - good queuing system, but stoic service and possibly slightly too crammed. We can get over that, but combined with the surprise water and underwhelming pasta makes us feel this place didn t meet the standard we were hoping to get. Hopefully it was a one-off, since they have great reviews! Take it as you will. Just our experience!
Went with a friend and service was abysmal. The server disregarded our personal space (his crotch was in my face the entire time he took our order and then he lingered afterwards typing god knows what into the device he used to take orders); he tried to upsell my friend twice - once with her cocktail (she ordered a tequila blanco cocktail, he tried to upsell her to a bourbon based cocktail that was $8 more) and then another time with her main (she ordered pasta, he tried to upsell her to the fish). I appreciate wanting to be helpful, but this wasn t. We also asked for bread to go along with our $30 burrata and he said the bread we have is from Friday, it s not good. You should order the bruschetta instead . Another upsell, which I actually ordered because who eats burrata without bread (especially if it s $30?!?)? The tables are WAY too close together. There s absolutely no privacy. The pasta was dry and didn t have enough cheese on it. My fish dish was actually decent, but for the price we paid, we could have gone any of the hundreds of restaurants in the area and leave more satisfied. We ll make sure to do so next time.
I really enjoyed the pasta and pizza here, salad was a tad bit acidic and the chocolate cake was decent. I ll definitely be coming back.
The food is not the best, but I like the overall atmosphere.
Restaurant has predatory tipping culture. Did not tip because tipping culture is absolute trash, especially when the cost of living is at an all time high. As a result, I had a server rushing after me when I left (after paying) explaining in an offensive way that it is typical in Toronto for people to tip, assuming we were tourists. Apparently, this restaurant has a fee to not be disrespectful to customers and is disguising it as tipping, since I was disrespected for not paying something that they pretend to be optional. Ignoring the fact that they have the most annoying habit of constantly asking if the food is alright when we are in the middle of eating, with our mouths full, they also interrupt us when we are having a conversation. Just let us eat in peace, for crying out loud! If there is a problem I WILL LET YOU KNOW! This ruins the experience, it does not make me want to tip you at all. I am beyond tired of this trash tipping culture where you have to tip enough to satisfy them so you dont get insulted, or worse. If you depend on tips to make a living, either beg for a raise to your boss, increase the product prices, or find another job. I am not going around insulting people just because they are not tipping me, I already get paid my salary and if I am not satisfied, I negotiate a raise, or find a better paying job. Should I also start demanding a discount whenever I am nice to anyone that serves me at bars, and restaurants? Should I ask for 18% discount if I ask them how is their day going multiple times? I pay for what I ordered, and the taxes on that too, thats my only obligation. Anything else should be optional, but apparently you have to pay a tip fee so they dont disrespect you. First and only time I went to this restaurant, never again, especially a restaurant that apparently allows this kind of predatory tipping culture. In Europe, most business owners prohibit tipping because they dont want customers who dont tip to be given a bad service than those who tip, and Trattoria Nervosa is a living example of how tipping ruins their service. Other reviews do mention how the servers sympathy is bound to the tipping, especially when the forced 20% group gratuity is already secured, meaning the servers dont have to be nice to ensure tipping at that point. This is such a terrible culture to foster, its embarrassing. The food was great, but the experience completely ruined it. There are better restaurants with the same quality of food who dont harass their customers if they dont tip. Cant recommend this restaurant.
Love this place .. wonderful food .. hard to get a table because its always busy
Came here instead of Eataly. I do regret we didn t end up going to Eataly. Since the beginning we asked the host questions about menu she said she doesn t know the menu and we can ask the servers. The waiter came to say hi, we ordered olives and wines. Our olives came in 5 minutes and after 15 Minutes i had to ask one of the server helpers for water. And finally after 20 min the server brought our wine. I guess we came in when the servers were switching. No one came tell us that they are done their shift, our original server was more focused on closing bills than bringing us our wine or water. We finally had someone after another 20 minutes take our order. We asked if we can add mushrooms to our pasta, they said no It s a nice location, but i would have preferred to go to Cibo or Eataly for better vibes and service.
First time here and we had a great night. We ordered Rissoto Nervosa, Pizza and Cannoli. Cannot explain how flavourful Rissoto Nervosa was. Also the pizza crust was 10/10. Pistachio cannoli came in two pieces and was very delicious. Service was fast and staff were friendly. I suggest reserve a table so you can dine on the first floor. Tables on the second floor are too close to each other imo. Vegetarian options: Salads Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
Margherita pizza was not good
Fantastic food, love it.
They have a weird reservation policy where only some people can get in and others have to wait and hope. The food is built up to be great but is actually just subpar and often not even warm. The service is alright but the staff are clearly overworked. Really let down by this place that should be a stand out.
The amount of food is quite good. Meat was soft and tasty, the risotto itself could be more cheesy in my opinion.
On my last visit to Trattoria Nervosa on December 3rd, our party was seated upstairs in the back corner booth. 15 minutes into our meal, we noted a bug crawling on the wall behind the bench we were seated on. The waiter quickly resolved the issue, was extremely apologetic, and we decided this was a one-off and continued with our meal. About 30 minutes later, once our main course had been served, we were once again experiencing multiple bugs crawling on the walls and down on and in to the bench we were seated on. At this point, we were quite disturbed and no longer had an appetite for our meal. We informed the waiter again of the bug issue, paid our bill, and left with food still on our plates. I have informed the restaurant of the issue via feedback form on their website but have not yet received a response. Until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend Trattoria Nervosa for your next meal out. The cleanliness and quality of the dining room is not currently meeting the standards you would expect of a nice (and pricey) establishment, such as Nervosa.
My friend and I came here for lunch yesterday. The food was delicious and the service was great before I looked at my bill. I had asked the waiter for a recommendation between the 3 house wines which were 14.99. Unbeknownst to me, the waiter brought me a 25.00 glass. I went on to order a second glass. This behavior is not acceptable and left me with a lot to be desired from the service at trattoria nervosa and how a customers price point is not respected.
Never fails to impress. This has been mine and my friends go-to place for many years. The mafalde ai funghi is probably the best pasta you can get in Toronto - always consistently delicious. Also, truly some of the best Sangria in Toronto. The little yellow house in Yorkville creates a quaint and family-centric atmosphere. Perfect for casual and formal get-togethers.
Appetizer and beer were awesome but pizza was soggy
Pricey, a trifle pretentious, but thats Yorkville.
Great place for a classy dinner with a nice atmosphere and good food.
Great food, great friendly service, wonderful wine! Finish with the tiramisu!
Wonderful dinner, wonderful very vibrant and dynamic dining environment. Amazing service kind, fun. fast and all is very tasty Thank you
The food photo is from GUSTO101 We came here today with our 4 pound comfort dog for a mushroom pasta dish. When we arrived at the door, the waitress might have noticed that I was carrying a small dog, so she took us directly to an outdoor table without asking, and that seat was so crowded by the customers behind us that we couldnt even sit down. I asked to sit at another table and she agreed but told me: the dog must stand on the floor. I said it was a service dog and she said it was the same thing. I was just about to try to explain that this dog is 9 years old...enough to sit quietly and still on my lap. But she left before I could say anything? ? ? We had to sit down and I understood that this was a restaurant after all. I asked the puppy to stand on the ground and tied the rope as she said. When I looked up, I saw her saying something to another male waiter. The male waiter rolled his eyes and looked at us. After looking at the menu and waiting for a few minutes, no one came to talk to us or give us water. I was really a little unhappy, so I stood up and left. As soon as we stood up, the waiter immediately put away our chairs... Is it discrimination against Asians or discrimination against me because I am disabled and need a puppy to accompany me? Is it okay to just tell us before we come in that we can t take the puppy? Dont force us to leave like a hypocrite! We went to their sister store Gusto101, and they received us very warmly and friendly.
I don t usually like pasta, but this was really good! We came in as a group of 5 and ordered 4 mains + 1 appetizer. gratuity of 20% would be automatically added in the bill for parties of 5+ i believe. The service was helpful, our server was a tall man with black glasses and he explained reconmmended dishes to us in detail to help us decide. We ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer, and I usually don t eat it as I find the texture hard to chew, but this one was really soft and the sauces that came with it matched well. My favourite dish was the risoto nervosa, the beef was extremely tender and not dry at all. The risotto was filled with flavours. We ordered the Classica pizza as we didn t like the others with too much cheese. I liked that the crust was thin and crispy on the edges, there could be more toppings though. We also had the bolognese, which is my usual go to because it can t go wrong. It was strong in the flavours of the sauce and the plentiful of beef over the pasta. Lastly, we had this seafood pasta (forgot the name), it was nice and lighter than the others, you could add chili oil if you wanted to. Overall the pastas were all really great and cooked well! On top of the food, We sat on the patio upstairs and it was nice weather too, so we had a memorable experience. Definitely would go there again for small events/group celebrations!
I enjoyed it greatly here. For a Monday night I found it to be quite busy, and the service was quite good. The dinner was exceptional - I had the olives as an appetizer, a delicious and very generous portion. Main course was the bolognese - fantastic and an authentic bolognese (as opposed to tomato sauce with ground beef that sometimes tries to pose as bolonese). The waiter, as competent as he was sympathetic, recommended a Sangiovese and it was a perfect match to dinner. I recommend this location wholeheartedly.
It was perfect, both the atmosphere and the food were great
Stopped here for a chill after noon coffee. Great environment, very clean and great vibe. A great place to spend a lazy late noon/evening.
Our visit to trattoria Nervosa was delicious but a long wait and poor service did dampen the overall experience. Unfortunately the restaurant does not take reservations, so we arrived at 6 pm to put our name down for a table for 4 and were told it would be an hour wait. They do not let you wait inside the restaurant so we spent most of that time outside in the cold. Once inside, we were seated in a cozy spot by the window. The atmosphere was nice but some points were lost for the QR code menu - personally, I prefer a physical one. Our server took his time to come to our table, and did not check in after bringing our food. Another issue was that our mains were brought out at the same time as the appetizers, so we sent them back. Fortunately they did remake them fresh for us when we were ready for the main course. We also ran out of water several times and had to keep flagging our server for more. The food was delicious, easily the highlight. Fluffy foccacia bread, a generous portion of Cavolo Nero salad, and a delicious Mafalde with mushrooms that was creamy and rich. We ended dinner with a tiramisu which perfectly rounded out the meal. Overall I would give it another shot, and hope for better service next time around. Although I won t be visiting in the winter because I m not willing to wait outside in -10 for an hour to be seated.
The food was outstanding, especially the Calabrese pizza, which had perfect seasoning and portions. However, the service was disappointing. When we arrived, the manager was friendly, but the hostess was rude, telling us to wait with a finger in our faces. We understood they didn t take reservations, so we agreed to wait 30 minutes. After giving our info, I received both confirmation messages at once, and we arrived 10 minutes later. The waitress claimed we were 4 minutes late and gave our table away, blaming us for the confusion despite showing her the message timeline. She was unhelpful, while the manager stepped in and promised to find us a table in 5 minutes. It s frustrating that a system error led to such poor treatment, so if you re told to wait, stay close or risk losing your table.
Had a good time at Trattoria Nervosa! We were a party of four and had to wait around an hour to be seated - they have a lot of tables for two but not too many for 4 so the wait was longer. Once we sat down, we felt extremely rushed. Server took our order right away. We got our main dishes at the same time as our appetizers we also got both the main dishes and appetizers before our drinks sure, thank you for being fast, but at the same time, I think that was wayyyy to fast at least give us time to eat the appetizers before serving us our mains. We sent back the mains because that was unacceptable, then we waited a bit for them to remake our food. The restaurant was really busy, but the server never asked us if we wanted any more drinks or more water The food however, was excellent! Pastas were all a 10/10. The home made bread appetizer isn t the best, pretty much just tastes like cold bread from the store. It didn t seem fresh or hot to us. Vegetarian options: Lots of options Parking: Parking on the street potentially, if not, parking in one of be many lots on the street Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Lots of stairs to enter the restaurant.
Food was good, portioned well. Lasagna lacked sauce and served warm not hot. Very busy so service suffered and noisy so difficult so carry on conversation with guests on other side of table.
I went here for dinner with a friend and we were able to get a table with no reservations rather quickly on a Saturday night. The interior is an old heritage home style. The clientele was mixed ages&races but everyone was dressed nice. The food+drink were very good...the tables are a bit small so it forced us to order less. Id return to this establishment again . Vegetarian options: I know they had vegetarian options....I just dont recall what they were. But you can customize a veg pizza style and pasta. Kid-friendliness: It might be ....but why would you want to bring a kid to such a nice adult environment. Wheelchair accessibility: Its a heritage building so I dont think its entirely accessible but the patio is for sure.
The food is good, but the main floor is very noisy, even at 3 PM. Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian pizzas Food : 4/5 |
Great pizza and pasta, very friendly staff and attentive!
We really enjoyed Trattoria Nervosa and that they dont take reservations is actually a plus, we had 15 min to wander Yorkville!
We visited Trattoria on a busy Friday night as a group of five, and from the moment we arrived, the staff s hospitality made us feel right at home. They were incredibly accommodating with our stroller, going above and beyond to make our experience seamless friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. It s this level of service that makes us eager to return! For appetizers, we ordered the Burrata and Octopus. Both were fresh and flavorful, though we felt the octopus s pairing with olive paste and sauces could use a bit more harmony. For mains, we tried the Risotto, Bolognese, and Lasagna. Each dish was rich and well-prepared, though the lasagna was slightly overcooked. The highlight of the evening, however, was dessert! Their homemade tiramisu and chocolate cake were simply fantastic fresh, decadent, and absolute must-tries. We look forward to our next visit, perhaps for an evening coffee and dessert to soak in the cozy atmosphere once again. Trattoria delivered on great food and excellent service, leaving us with a delightful dining experience worth revisiting.
The homemade bread, nduja pizza, and mushroom pasta were all very delicious. The olive oil and balsamic oil smell good when eating the bread, and both the sourdough and focaccia were fresh and delicious. I ate the pizza after it was recommended, and the slightly spicy flavor went well with the mushroom pasta, and the bread itself. Perhaps because they are good at making it, the dough is delicious, and the pasta was so delicious that you could practically scrape up all the sauce from the bowl. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. If anyone comes to Toronto, this is a store I definitely want to go to. I highly recommend it.
A wonderful meal and a great location for a business lunch. The service is top notch and the food is outstanding! 10 /10
Real mushroom pasta, absolutely!! Is it lettuce? Is it salad? Anyway, definitely!!!!!!!! The lasagna was just so-so, and I think Ill have risotto next time! A place with a nice atmosphere that makes you want to eat outside later when the weather is nice. Waiting 10 minutes? It was enough, as of 2 oclock.
This was possibly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. It was so bad we had to leave prior to even ordering. The restaurant was more than half empty at 5pm on a Tuesday, and we were seated at a very small table for two by Swati. We moved to a 4 person table that was available next to our original table, and wasn t reserved. Our waiter didn t say anything but Swati came running and telling us we couldn t sit there. We stayed since our intent was to have a very quick dinner and leave. She came running back 5 minutes later and said we need to move asap and we cannot sit there. She was very insistent and very annoying. We went to Sofia and had much better service. I do not recommend this place. It also smelled like stale cheese.
Small menu but tasty food. Cozy vibes. A bit loud inside when its busy. Decent drinks, aperol and white sangria were good.
This is one of my favourite spots in Yorkville. Since they don t take reservations, we had to wait about 40 mins for our table. The pasta was perfect. The pizza was decent but the burrata on top cause the crust to get soggy.
This Italian restaurant is a great spot, especially for group gatherings. I really enjoyed their mushroom pasta, which was rich and flavorful, and the prosciutto pizza was a hit with its fresh ingredients and perfect balance of flavors. I went with friends, and everyone loved the dishes. The tiramisu was fine pretty standard, nothing extraordinary. The portions are generous, making it great for sharing. At around $40 per person, its reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. Highly recommend for a casual yet delicious Italian meal.
Nice place for family and awesome taste of food and service.
The best Risotto I have had in my life! The Kale salad with Octupus was exceptionally good!!
Came here for a date, and the waiter (a man in his 30s) was giving me and my date dirty looks, and when asked him how his night was, he just frowned and left. I couldn t quite understand why, but my guess was since my date and I were both young adults, he wasn t taking us seriously. Anyways, food isn t worth the money. Very tiny place and as mentioned, staff are not at yorkville level.
Must try authentic Italian restaurant in Yorkville. Nice patio in the summer and the service is excellent. Kid-friendliness: We had our newborn and they welcomed us happily with a stroller.
Trattoria Nervosa is a charming Italian restaurant located in Toronto, known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious cuisine. **Food:** The menu features classic Italian dishes, from pasta and risotto to wood-fired pizzas. I m Italian and have been living in Toronto. I have tried this restaurant and I can guarantee you that such a restaurant would be a top restaurant even in Italy. Recommended. Food : 5/5
-BRUSCHETTA WITH ANCHOVIES * - RIGATONI BOLOGNESE -NERVOSA RISOTTO * -CANNOLI
Always solid and excellent customer service. Food is great. Cosy place. Excellent rooftop!
It was a blast! The vibe was super chill, and the food was incredible. Definitely a spot I ll be hitting up again!
Spent a lovely evening on the outdoor patio. Food was excellent!
Okay wow I am seriously impressed with the entire experience here! we went to this restaurant for my mom s birthday and it was better than we thought. The only comment I would make is that you can t reserve in advance so you need to be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes. The Nduja pizza was spicy and sweet- the perfect combo. The polipo octopus was so tasty with the pesto and tomato sauce on the side And the risotto is a must eat! The truffle is super filling and fantastic portion size. Parking: Parking in yorkville is $10 from 6pm to 6am if you are going for dinner
Food was OK in general. However, it seemed like there were not enough staffs at the peak dining time. We were waiting quite a bit til the server found us waiving our hands. Also, when we tried to ask for something, the only server there were chatting with another tables. It took a while til we got what we wanted.
Me and the wife frequent this place often. Food has always been great despite yesterdays visit. Had ordered a lasagna and classica pizza and both were not made fresh at all. Lasagna had cold spots in certain spots, pizza was very soggy. Did not bother to let the server know. If Im going to spending $30 a dish I expect it not to be reheated and cold. Will give this place another try as the majority of our visits have been great. Will edit after visiting next time.
My sister and I were looking for a place to eat in Yorkville and had never been here before. There was a short waitlist (which we took as a good sign) we were sat in the upstairs dining room and it was so cozy, our server Matteo was amazing he offered us wine and food recommendations. We loved the wine and the pizza, would come back here again.
I had Mediterranean pizza here , the atmosphere was nice , the waitress was nice but the pizza didn t worth the price! I m not gonna comeback again
Almost felt like I was back in Italy again so authentic - can t go wrong with anything on the menu!
The Mafalde al fungi was easily my favourite dish i had here. It was creamy but not heavy on the truffle so it wasnt overpowering. The pasta was cooked al dente and a good portion size. The lasagna was also a good option as well. The Caesar salad was pretty meh and Id skip that though.
Honestly the waitress really didn t care. We were a group of 8 so automatic 20% gratuity which is why I m assuming she didn t care to introduce herself or smile. The pasta was mid but the risotto was really good. However we later saw her offer Parmesan and cracked pepper to other tables which we completely forgot to ask for. But it should ve been offered? Probably won t be going back.
Ate at this restaurant over the weekend and I was extremely disappointed by the service. I was greeted by a hostess who along with our waitress has a serious attitude problem. The hostess had a literal look of disgust on her face when I was speaking to her at the door. I was in such disbelief that the restaurant would have someone like that working at the front to greet customers. She along with our server Lisa, were extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never experienced such discourteous service from a waitress. Lisa was very unwelcoming and was grimacing her face the whole time she was serving our table. She was not staying on top of everyones orders. She didnt offer us any parmesan cheese or black pepper (while we saw others servers do this for their tables). She brought over a dessert to the table and somehow didnt think to bring cutlery. This was such poor oversight. The food was subpar. The only things that were good about this place were the ambience and drinks. I understand people can have their bad days but the staff were blatantly disrespectful. The wait staff here need some serious training on customer service. Horrible experience! I will not dine at this restaurant ever again!
Great homemade pasta (best part). The funghi pasta sauce tasted great. The bolognese was just ok. The margarita pizza was fresh tasting. Service could have been just a little bit more attentive. Cool building. Bathroom upstairs. Its a solid spot if you get the right thing. Solid prices too.
Risotto Nervosa was very good.
Pretty good pasta! Quite a vibey and nice place, very crowded when we came at 8pm on Friday, but no waitlist. Walk-ins only. Overall, it was very worth and Id DEFINITELY COME BACK (to try their pizza). Their pasta portions were quite large, 2 of us couldnt finish and gave it to our guy friend who ate it all. Cocktails were around $19-25 each and pretty strong. Heres what the 3 of us ordered: RISOTTO NERVOSA ($33.99): 4.5/5 [friends order] I had one bite of the risotto, SO GOOD. Texture of the rice was a little softer than Id like it to be, bit they NAILED the flavour. Mushroomy, savoury, very balanced. My friend said the braised beef short rib on top was SUPER soft - breaks apart with a fork. MAFALDE AI FUNGHI ($26.99): 4/5 Loved the curly, thick mafalde pasta, cooked more al dente than usual (youd be surprised by the hardness if youre not used to eating firmer noodles). Lots of different kinds of mushrooms and the cream sauce was very truffley. Good flavour overall but lacked complexity so I got sick of it after a while. RIGATONI BOLOGNESE ($24.99): 4/10 [friends order] They used smaller rigatoni, which I prefer over bigger ones, but it was also cooked less al dente than Id like. Your typical bolognese sauce, very rich tomato flavour - slightly tangy. VERY generous with the beef & veal ragú, which was so soft and savoury. But at the end of the day its just a bolognese (a GOOD one, sure), but for me a bolognese is a bolognese. The service was good. Kind and knowledgable and the food didnt take long at all.
Wonderful pizza and pasta. Overlooks the street. Authentic Italian
Been here many times and each time is a solid experience. Definitely a staple Italian restaurant in downtown. Usually get the shrimp zuccini pasta which is always rich in flavour yet is very clean. The mafalde is heavier but rich in taste.
Delicious food, good pasta and nice service
A good Italy restaurant, they are not taken reservations but didn t wait too long for the dinner
fabulous patio seating and great food! Loved the new york strip, pizza, and arctic char that we tried. Great for summer dining out with friends. Very friendly service on a cute little Yorkville street.
Its a real Italian restaurant run by real Italians! The burrata I ordered was delicious, very creamy and the tomatoes had flavor. The tiramisù is excellent!
Always great to be here!
Delicious food + great service!
FANTASTICO!! Great dishes Amazing Risotto Great staff Lots of drinks selection
The restaurant staff is not welcoming. They treated me very badly. I came for an order. And they kicked me out for no reason.
We came here with our vegetarian friend and we asked for some modifications, however, it seemed like we couldn t modify much and we had to stick to the vegetarian options. Our waitress was super friendly and sweet and was kind to explain the dishes. Unfortunately, the mushroom risotto tasted fishy (maybe the parsley?) and the pizza was soggy although the tomato sauce with fresh and delicious. The Mafalde ai funghi was ok overall, the taste of the pasta was good. It may have been that we were not lucky due to what we have chosen. We were seated in the upper floor, the stairs were super narrow (and dimly lit), the waiters had to take the same stairs that everyone does (allows one person only), so we had to wait for the waiter holding a bunch of plates before moving anywhere.
Horrible service!!! Not attentive, waited over 30 mins and food never arrived, tried talking to server but kept ignoring me and serving other customers. Would not recommend
Enjoyed the experience - good pizza and beer and loved sitting on the patio
Date night? Great location and atmosphere, even though it was busy. Started with the Nduja Pizza as an appetizer.... Sorry, no picture was hungry.... Its was good, a really good amount of ingredients. Me and my date agreed; it needed a touch more of both heat and sweetness. 4 stars The Lasagna and Risotto Nervosa were really great! 5 stars Also tried the Sunshine Punch; Its a really nice cocktail; a little too much ice, though, for such a sized glass and price point. 4.5 stars.
I visited this place twice and tried their lasagna, pasta, and pizza. The food was just okay in my opinion. Additionally, there was a piece of plastic lid in my pasta, which they removed, but it wasn t a great experience.
Very nice location and definitely very delicious authentic Italian cuisine! Highly recommended!
Excellent both food and service. Nicolas comes from Rome and is super helpful and advised us on the menu as well as on what to visit in Toronto and Canada. We ate a dish and dessert because compared to Italian ones the first courses are plentiful and above all a little heavier but excellent
the risotto is a must try
Very good service. Luca attended to us and is very friendly.
Very very good!!
Parking: Green P is across the street. Food
great atmosphere, great server, great food. definitely come back again.
Superb waiter Nicholas. GRAZIE! Tasty calamerata with gamberi, and fresh bread. Very busy at dinner, but I dined at an outside table texted to me in about 15 min. There are at least 5 ice cream shops within 2 blocks,so save a little room.
This place used to be one of my favourites but it s really taken a hit! We came on a Monday and the place was so busy and cramped. Our server seemed so overwhelmed, I felt bad ordering from him it all felt so rushed. Most importantly, the food is just not what it used to be. The mushroom and kale salad were my favourite, the salad is soggy with no flavour/toppings, pasta tastes different too. The rest of the table agreed. It was my sister s birthday and we were told we couldn t bring in her cake. Another thing to note- they don t allow any simple customizations AT ALL. Either take what s on the menu or don t eat. One of our party didn t eat anything at all. Just to add insult to injury- us 5 were charged a 20% large table fee. Would not recommend!
It was incredible. I had the mushroom risotto, and let me tell you, it was one of the best. I was there with my family, we ordered lasagna, kale salad, pizza and spaghetti & meatballs for my little niece. Everything was amazing. Our server was courteous and attentive with a great smile. He definitely entertained my little niece. The food was fresh and came out in good time. Highly recommend if youre in Yorkville and looking for an authentic Italian experience. I wish I had pics to post. I was too eager to eat the food and forgot. LOL I will definitely be going again.
The only good things were the nice server and outdoor seating.
My wife and I stopped here for lunch while visiting Toronto in August. We sat outside and had a pizza and a salad. It was busy but our waiter was amazing - he was attentive and passionate about doing is job very well. The food was simple and excellent - in the true Italian style! However, our waiter was exceptional. I would recommend this place.
Dining at Nervosa was a delightful experience. The food is top-notch and service was nice The wait time is extremely exhausted, we wait nearly 50 mins during peak hours. Parking is also another problem, there only few underground parking in Yorkville but they either quite full or have long walking distance Food was fresh but serve a bit cold, not quite top experience like some Italian restaurant we go before Their Risotta is quite uniqe, tasty and good portion Overall experience: 7/10
First time here. Excellent food and even better service. Lisa was so friendly and welcoming to my date and I. She was diligent but made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Such a great experience. Give her a raise. She s a natural Food
By far and away, my favorite meal during my time in Toronto was at Trattoria Nervosa. Knowing it would be hard to get a seat, I arrived at 5:30 PM and was fortunate enough to secure a spot upstairs, overlooking the glitz and glamour of Yorkville Ave. The menu offered many wonderful options, but I knew I wanted to start with a charcuterie board and follow it up with their fresh pasta Bolognese. Both dishes exceeded my expectations. The pasta Bolognese was fresh, rich, and perfectly cooked, making it a truly memorable meal. Trattoria Nervosa provided an exceptional dining experience with its delicious food, great service, and vibrant atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto.
The Mafalde Ai Funghi is a must try and the nduja pizza is delicious. Cute patio, vibrant atmosphere.
The pizzas are nothing special. The pulpo as a starter is delicious. Wine selection is ok, unfortunately the red wine in the bottle usually comes to the table too warm in summer. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The location is great, so there are queues of up to 15 minutes at peak times.
The food was amazing. The rissotto was safe for me as a celiac. I had seen google reviews mention gluten free pasta which is why we picked it. However the menu made no mention of it and our waitress was very un knowledgeable so I did not want to risk it. I had the short rib risotto my non celiac friends had the mushroom pasta and spagetti and meatballs all the dishes were good and the pasta is home made. It s pricy but worth it. Cocktails were also top notch. Vegetarian options: Mushroom pasta was really well liked by my friend.
Well, I didnt want to write a bad review because I liked the place. There were lots of nice people working there, but unfortunately, the guy who was our waiter wasnt that polite or friendly. We ordered the Mediterranean Pizza, which didnt taste good because of the anchovy. I notified the waiter about this, and he refused to do anything. He was so rude and acted like we shouldnt have eaten the pizza if we didnt like it. Dude! We took one slice and then realized it had a terrible taste, so we left the rest because it was awful.
#servizioclientipeggiorato
very good Italians in York, Ville absolute must to eat is the Rigatoni with Bolognese lasagna and Pizza Caban eze. The wine. Recommendations and selection is very good. We had had a very good time outside on the first floor. The service is impeccable.
I went for the first time and it was a great experience for me. We tried many different things and all the dishes were amazing. Also the employees are very polite.
Lovely little spot with an excellent Kale salad that is perfectly done!
I recently dined at this restaurant and was very disappointed with the service. When I asked for the bill, the server curtly responded with, tell your server and rolled her eyes. This response was unnecessarily rude and disrespectful, as I was already speaking to the server. Moreover, I noticed that the same server was very friendly and attentive to other guests seated next to us, but not to us. Such discriminatory behavior is unacceptable and deeply concerning.
For those with a discerning palate, this is the perfect place to savor your meal to its fullest. The subtle nuances in both the cuisine and beverages are crystal clear, offering a truly refined dining experience. Jessica and Lisa, our servers, were exceptionally warm and attentive, ensuring your comfort without being overbearing. Their gracious service truly enhanced the experience.
the two stars are only and only for the food! the tables on the rooftop were that close to eachother(30cm) that I could clearly smell the dishes beside us. it took at least 10min to be greeted with water. and we finally ordered drinks and bread for appetizer, drinks came ontime but the bread took more than 20min. it wasnt fresh and was not even warmed up! we asked for some ice as the rooftop was so hot and I I couldnt believe after another 10min of wait the server told us that they are out of ice. food was ontime, hot and delicious. although no quality check and for every request I should have turn around and grab my servers attention. the only time we were quality checked was right before the bill, not nice. not gonna go back again, Im gonna miss their food.
The food is good... The service not so much. My friend and I had to wait quite a while for a table - not a big deal. But once there? Every one seated after us got served first. I had to ask twice for water, and force the waitress to take our order. The waitress literally cleaned our table while we were still there, and yet took a long time to give us our bill. The card reader also was acting weird for tips. On top of the very loud noises, which admittedly is not their fault, I cannot say I had a good time. Only redeeming quality is that the food is as good as ever. The food is good... The service is not at all. My friend and I waited quite a while to get a table - no big deal. But once there, all the people who arrived after us were served before us. I had to ask twice for water although it is normally served immediately after being installed. I had to pressure the waitress to finally take our order after more than 25 minutes. She started cleaning our table even while we were still eating! However, she took her time to bring back the bill. To top it off, the card reader also bugged when tipping. All this plus a deafening atmosphere which, I understand, is not their fault, I cant say that I had a good time. Fortunately the food is good just to catch up a little.
Dining at Nervosa was a delightful experience. The food was superb, with each dish bursting with flavor and taste. The service was good, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. The upstairs patio offered a pleasant dining atmosphere, although it was quite sunny and a bit hot during the day. However, once the sun went down, the patio became a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the evening.
All very good.
mafalde ai funghi >> risotto >>>>>> best pasta in TOWN - i ve been here 10+ times and always get the same thing lol the mushroom pasta is too good no reservations, sometimes there are queues!
Ordered the Mafalde Ai Funghi Pasta and Norma Pizza. The pizza tasted good but was nothing crazy. The pasta was amazing! It was very creamy and rich, one of the best pastas I ve ever had. Service was also great, we were consistently checked on and the food probably took a maximum of 15 minutes to come out. The atmosphere was okay, we were seated in a pretty tight spot. Overall I d totally recommend this spot to my friends and will definitely be coming back!
The mushroom pasta was very delicious, one of the best pastas Ive had. Dont order the short rib risotto or youll be eating a dry and burnt piece of crust. They say its braised but they didnt tell you it was braised with flames. Octopus was not worth $30 for a tentacle. Service is very slow as well. Overall a 4 because the mushroom pasta is good.
When in Yorkville you must go to Nervosa. The Mafalde ai Funghi is a dish you will never forget. It is so rich and delicious especially if you like umami flavours. Additionally the lasagna here is in my top three in the city. Its so hard to find a good lasagna but this one has the perfect amount of noodle, to meat, to cheese ratios. Would recommend sitting on the upstairs patio if you can, it almost makes you forget youre in the middle of the city.
This restaurant has a large selection of indoor/outdoor seating with pleasant greenery and dainty lights. We were seated at the upstairs patio and our server Alex was awesome! Highly recommend the braised beef risotto and mafalde Ai funghi. Both the negronia bianco and Classico were made well. Would come again
It s a restaurant with a nice ambiance, but unfortunately, the service and food are disappointing. Firstly, the carpaccio di manzo we ordered had some meat that had already turned brown. We asked the waiter if it was due to meat oxidation, but he didn t respond to our question. Instead, he just informed us that the meat here is very fresh due to the olive oil used. Secondly, in the SPAGHETTI CON POLPETTE we ordered, the meat had turned sour. Initially, we thought it was because of the tomato sauce, but later realized it was the meat itself. We re not overly picky diners and didn t have high expectations for food at this price point, but encountering such food is quite concerning.
The lasagna was perfect!!! I was so caught up in enjoying it that I forgot to take a photo! :)) My friends loved their pasta too!
One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever had the opportunity to dine in. Incredible service. Great atmosphere and some of the most delicious Italian food I have ever tasted. Every bite was a joy for my pallet. The flavors melded together like a concerto in my mouth. If you are in Toronto, CA, I recommend you put this on your travel plans. Prices are a bit higher than average, but the quality and quantity are worth it! You definitely what you pay for!
We went on a Monday night and it was packed out, which kind of tells you everything you need to know! Good authentic Italian food and great service.
Delicious food and great service. We could see that the staff were working efficiently to make sure all the customers were happy. They were wonderful. Great recommendations from our server (the short rib was fantastic). Thanks for such a memorable experience on my husband s birthday!
The white wine and mushroom pasta recommended by the waiter were fantastic. I was charmed by the friendly staff and atmosphere. The surrounding streets remind me of Seoul s Apgujeong and Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil. Its worth a visit.
Great place . The mushroom pasta is real Italy level.
The waitress are rude. This place charge 20% of gratuity if it is a party of 5 or more. The last time he charge 24% saying it was 20%. Careful with this place is tricky.
I was very disappointed with the service here. The waiter was rude and added extra items to our bill. When we questioned it, he pretended not to understand, but eventually corrected the bill. However, he added a 24% tip without asking. This behavior is highly disrespectful, and it feels like the staff is taking advantage of their customers. Highly recommend to check your bill and be alert of servers. Not coming back.
Very creamy and decadent spaghetti. Service was great and food arrived fast.
The manager Was extremely Rude and didn t even want to give his name when I asked him after he refused to switch our table because of my Sisters allergy. people next to us ordered a meal with Seafood in it and it was really tight so I asked to move and he didn t let us and with a rude tone.
Great restaurant. Didnt get to sit on lower patio because of the rain. But sat on in the covered upstairs area instead. The food was excellent. Pasta cooked perfectly, and the olive appetizer was fantastic.
I wanna try more menu here!
This may be the worst restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is abysmal. You cannot hear a single thing being said, and have to practically yell to have any conversation. The place is cramped, furniture is dinged up, the whole restaurant just feels cheap. Food was the definition of 3/5, and mine you we got the supposedly 2 best dishes on the menu. The Mafade Ai Funghi pasta was too hard, and the Nduja pizza was very difficult to cut and eat with their cheap, dull knives they provide you. Its just good enough to not suck, but youd never feel the need to come back. Service was even worse, taking too long to grab any servers attention. And they charge an automatic 20% tip fee for large groups (they also charge tip on tax). Its always the places with the worst service that force the tip, as they know they cant get it normally. Menu prices are in the $20s, but expect to be paying $35-40 per person just for one main, with the tax and tip. Terrible date spot since you cant hear anything the other person is saying, terrible group spot for the same reason + bad service with a forced 20% tip. What sane person would rate this place anything over 2/5?
I came to Yorkville to try again this popular restaurant and its dishes. I have to admit that the quality of food and care applied to each plate makes the difference around the area. It is located on a tiny corner, inside an old house which gives you those Italian/European vibes. Menu offers antipasti/starters, salads, pizza and mains, where you can find pastas, risotto, meats, and some fish. Menu is not extensive but gives you enough options to satisfy your taste. Antipasti menu offers a good variety of appetizers, where you can choose either a burrata, polpette (meatballs) or polipo (octopus) . Any of those three options are a good choice to start your meal. Salads are nothing special, however you can taste the ingredients are fresh and prepared at the moment. Rucola salad is the one I would most recommend. It is simple and comes with a lemon vinaigrette which elevates the flavors. The second time I tried this salad they added too much lemon in the vinaigrette but other than that it tasted good. Pizzas here are real ones, with handmade crust, juicy on the inside, a but crunchy on the outside replicating the ones from Rome. Ingredients are all natural, they are all cut and cooked at the moment. I also tried their famous risotto with beef short rib, which is an excellent plate. The rib was perfectly cooked , being tender and juicy. The rice was al dente and with the correct amount of butter and parmesan cheese. For a party of two, I would recommend ordering everything to share, starting with an appetizer or a salad, and then pizza and a pasta/risotto or main. A dessert is always a good option to finish. Be careful because this place is generally very busy, mostly in weekends, and they don t accept reservations but only walk-ins. So allow 5-20min wait when you are planning to come. Also, this is not a quiet place, it becomes noisy inside due to the echo of the architecture of the house.
I would give these low life s 0 stars if I could. They disrespected me and my whole family after travelling for 1 hour to come celebrate my parents anniversary they said they WOULD NOT serve me BECAUSE I HAVE AN ALLERGY. Even customers around us were appalled and could not believe what was going on. Terrible people terrible service. They are walking on eggshells to avoid legal action as they ve obviously been incompetent in the past.
i was hoping for a better experience i dont complain about food my food took way to long 25 min not crazy busy . and I asked if the portion were big they said yes and I ate the whole pepe in 5 bites for 25 bucks it should be way bigger will not come again
Used to love this place but the quality of the dishes has gone down. I just no longer know what the food is going to taste when I come to this place. No consistency in quality.
Slowwwww
Great food & good service but disappointed they were rushing with the olive oil and balsamic as if they had a shortage for other customers - a little disappointed on that
Pasta was good, but the serving size was exceptionally small.
We stopped by today me and my friend to check this place, Demetrio the manager was so nice to take his time and talk to us about the place . To be honest we didn t ate at this place yet but by my experience and very strong smell the food satisfy us at all , and the pizza is the real deal . Finally an authentic Italian pizza and not a focaccia or pie like most fake ITALIAN WANA BE have been sold to customers! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL MY FOLLOWERS I FULLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE . I bet you will thanking me Grazie Demetrio x la tua disponibilità, verremo presto a provare il cibo
Beautiful weather for Canada Day, took advantage of the ROM free admission. Decided to find a nice patio for dinner in Yorkville, I swear. every other car I saw was either a Lamborghini, Corvette or a luxury European model. Didnt see one Tesla, lol. I guess climate change/carbon taxes are the furthest from their minds. They have a second floor patio, beware, it can get hot when the sun is shining. Ordered the funghi pizza and beef carpaccio. Pizza was ok, crust could have been crispier and it needed additional seasoning. Beef carpaccio was good, meat was fresh and had clean beefy flavor profile. Service was excellent and efficient, our waiter was friendly and helpful. Would I go back, maybe. Need to try their pasta dishes to be fair, but I would stay away from their 2nd floor patio and go for their street level patio instead.
Delicious Italian food in the beautiful corner of York village.
Nice place with good food and service. We sat on the roof top level with good coverage against bad weather (wasnt the case but good to know). Wheelchair accessibility: Roof top so no elevator to get there
The only little thing was that the second floor was very humid. So we had to eat fast and drink less and leave
Great Antipasti menu! Best tiramisu. Food
If you want to feel like you re eating in Italy, this is the restaurant to visit! The food here is exceptional!! The Nduja pizza is the best pizza on the menu! Try the meatballs and the rigatoni, they are excellent!! And the tiramisu is to die for!! The service is absolutely amazing! Ask for Alex P, he s the best!! And behind the bar, Ray made me feel like I was back in Cuba with his mojito!! Superb! Best experience ever! We ll be back soon!
An Italian gem in Yorkville. Great menu, great patio vibe, excellent service. Please continue to make everything in-house!
The ambiance is cozy, although it was a bit noisy. The pizzas are delicious and it s always my go-to at the end of a long week. The service was friendly and attentive. If you re looking for a cozy spot with great Italian food in Toronto, Trattoria Nervosa is definitely worth a visit. Food
Food was delicious - the rigatoni and malfade pasta dishes were quite the palette pleaser. Unfortunately, the service was quite subpar. Waiter was nice, but didn t clue in how we were overheated in the patio spot we were in. Overall, despite the wonderful flavours we were presented, we were disappointed with the overall experience for a $$ restaurant.
The food was delicious! I got the pasta with mushrooms, and it was super tasty. Today was my first time at this restaurant and I m already excited to return and try more of their dishes.
One of the best pastas Ive ever tried, Im not even a mushroom lover but their Fungi pasta is beyond flavorful! You can substitute or exclude meat if youre vegetarian. Just a tad cramped and couldnt hear my date talking right in front of me. Still had a good time. :) Vegetarian options: You can make substitutions
I had high expectations for this place...our orders were incorrect for 3 out of the 5 of us. The 2 pasta orders, spaghettoni and spaghetti, were the same...no difference. An arugula salad was ordered, and the main dish was the fish...friend never got the salad, mentioned it and it came as a main salad with a tiny piece of fish on a side plate. The lasagna...stay away...it was so overcooked to the point that the consistency was pudding; It did not taste fresh at all! I tried eating it and couldnt stomach the texture and taste. I told the waiter afterward as they were not present during the majority of our time. They said I shouldve said something sooner...how, it was not easy getting their attention.
Delicious food and nice stuff but very expensive!
Loved the atmosphere and their cozy roof top patio. Tried the Buratta, the arugula salad and funghi pizza.
Last month , my family and I went out for dinner at the place my niece recommended. I ordered the Icelandic fish with black rice and artichoke, which was delicious. The rest of the family had various dishes like cheese appetizers, kale salad, octopus, and risotto with beef, all of which they enjoyed. Our server, Mark, was exceptional. He took the time to explain the menu and made sure my blind dad was well taken care of. Despite being busy, Mark kept a positive attitude and entertained us throughout the meal. However, there was an issue with the kid s pasta order. The manager was rude and unhelpful, causing a delay. Thankfully, Mark caught a mistake with the pasta before my grandson ate it, as it contained pork meatballs instead of the correct order. Although I had to leave for the airport, my family later spoke to a female manager who addressed the situation. Overall, we had a wonderful time, thanks to Mark s excellent service and the delicious food.
I ve been coming here for years and has always been a favourite of mine until last night. I came for dinner with my mom and her friend, our server Luka M provided quite possibly the worst service I ve ever received. I ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I work down the street at a restaurant currently. He refused to bring our appetizers first when we had asked and said it s a Saturday, it s busy, it will come all at once we agreed and said ok. We had order two salads & a beef carpaccio to start, and then a pasta & pizza to share as mains. The pizza came out by itself 5 mins after he took the order, the appetizers came out 20 mins after and then we waited another 45 minutes for our pasta. His attitude was extremely rude and basically blamed us for coming on a Saturday and said that s what happens. He then stood right over me watching while I was paying using the debit/credit machine which made me uncomfortable as I did not want to leave a very high tip. He then asked us if we could leave him a good tip which in itself was very uncomfortable. The portions were smaller than usual, the pasta came out cold. Overall was not an enjoyable experience. Very sad to see one of my favourite restaurants falling apart. As for him as a server, I felt he was rude, disrespectful and incompetent. Will not be returning after that experience.
It s one of my favourite spots in the city for Italian, especially if you are dining with vegetarians because everything in the menu is delicious from pasta to pizza to dessert. I have been here a few times and only once I didn t have a good experience with the hostess she came across as impatient and slightly rude but I think it was an isolated incident could have been because of weekend rush. Overall huge thumbs up and a must try if you are looking for your Italian spot in the city. My personal favourites are : carpaccio , mafalde ai fungi pasta, risottto nervosa, capellini pasta, prosciuto rucola pizza, tiramisu
Excellent meal in a very intimate space. No reservations accepted, so expect a wait.
Decent Italian resteraunt, food was a little under seasoned (risotto), pizza was great and I could see some potential but didnt wow me by any means. Slush were good, especially on a hot day!
Decent food. Cool atmosphere. Little crowded.
Exceptional! If you re looking for authentic Italian food in Toronto, this is it. Don t skip out on the mushroom pasta - 1000/10 Food
Carpaccio was a 10/10
