I went with a group of friends. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. I expect to go again and recommend Via Cibo to family and other friends. The owner was so hospitably and generous. Thank you for your great service!

I wish I read all the DoorDash reviews before I ordered because they all said the same thing as my experience. I ordered the Carbonara and it was incredibly disappointing. No flavour and barely any pancetta. I had to add salt, pepper, chili flakes and truffle oil just to make it taste like something. Will definitely not be ordering from here again!

I had my sons birthday supper here last minute. This was my first time. I was so pleased with the whole experience. I had a group of young boys with me and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. We were on the patio then the boys wanted to go inside. Very nice inviting atmosphere. Kids menu is an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DEAL. The 12 year old boys were all full. My son loved the fresh donuts that came with the kids meal. Vegetarian options: Pasta dishes Kid-friendliness: I had a floating helium balloon with me and it was no problem.

I used to work in the area and have enjoyed lunch here many times. I was hosting a party for 20 people and decided to order off their catering menu. Food was hot and ready for pick up at agreed time, price was reasonable and food was delicious! I expect via Cibo will see an increase in business because every guest asked where the food was from. 0 stars if possible. Just ordered what they consider the carbonara and it s the furthest thing from that. If I wanted chunks of garlic and parsley in my pasta I would ve ordered aglio e olio. Also bacon is not a substitute for guanciale. Very disappointed.

Via Cibo is quite frankly one of the best Italian restaurants I ve been to. The food is freshly made right in front of you, and considering everything is made from scratch, the speed is decent. Food itself is magnificent, and the waiters and waitresses were delightful. Food was pretty affordable, and they had EVERYTHING. Pizza, fries, pasta, soup, breakfast, lunch, BRUNCH, kids menu, drinks, this place has it all. The only change I would make to this place is to add more lighting as it is a bit dim. Literally nothing else. It s definitely on my recommended list for Italian food lovers. Kid-friendliness: The waiters are wonderful to kids and generally polite but overall

Shrinkflation has hit Via Cibo. Worked around here a few years ago and the Prosciutto Piadina was my Go-To on a weekly basis. Always filled with meat cheese and arugula. Leafy green salad included. Today I was devastated to find out that there were 2 pieces of prosciutto, a handful of arugula and 2 pieces of cheese. It was all bread (that size hasn t changed), but its girth was barely larger than the folded bread itself. No side leafy green salad included either. Too bad. It s tarnished an otherwise good opinion. - won t be back to order that again.

Ordered two side dishes takeout. Waited almost half an hour for my food. During that time I watched as other diners came in and were served their food (full plated meals) before they got round to giving me my order. I had picked up food from another location prior and it was cold when I got home. I asked why this happened and got no explanation other than sorry. I heard the Uber delivery drivers complaining about how long their order took and she was told they only had one line.

I ate there yesterday, I ve eaten there a couple times already. It was so humid in the restaurant that i could not enjoy my meal. i was sweating as soon as i walked in. I stayed because i was hungry i ended up having to ask the server to make the rest of my order to go because i could not stand how hot it was inside there. I feel so sorry for the service staff that has to endure that all day. I advise everyone not to eat here until they get A/C. The service was amazing my server was named Ellen she was spectacular with service, she was trying to make me comfortable, she was on top of service and very sweet. However i was not comfortable because i kid you not it s a sauna in via cibo at yorkmills. I hope the next time i visit they will have A/C.

Love the food but the person working the cash is not polite. My son changed his order and apologized many times to her because she was clearly annoyed. She wouldn t even acknowledge him. She also cleared our table and took half eaten food away without asking. Not great service takes away from the good food.

I have been a customer at this location since it opened. This evening I ordered my daughter a kids pasta combo which comes with a juice and ice cream. She didn t want the ice cream but wanted chocolate milk instead of juice. The restaurant insisted on charging me extra for the chocolate milk even though we didn t take the ice cream . I won t be back just as a matter of principle. It costs a lot to eat out these days and there s lots of competition. Clearly my business is not that important.

It was a very beautiful place and good and fresh food. We ordered steak, chicken and prosciutto pizza, we liked the steak very much.

I used to like this place. Nowadays, it is inconsistent. The last two times I have been there, on one occasion I ordered chicken & portobello the sauce was salty. Last Thursday ( May 9) Tuscan salad was good but I really didnt enjoy fully. Because on both occasions it seems the tables were wiped by a five year old. Crams and oil remain left on the tables. I ordered tea, the sugar holder was adorned in an old crusty and sticky coat of grease. Also, the cashier was on the phone when I was ready to place our order. As far as I know, the client in front of you has the priority. The person on the phone can wait. Or you can take the name and number and call back.

The pizza and pasta were really good . The flavour on the pizza and pasta were really good . The meat on the pizza was good amount . I just wish they could cut it better because it was hard to take it apart without the meat falling down . But overall recommend checking it out . The portions were good too . The portions are shareable . 8.5/10

Always consistently good food and service.

While the food tastes good, the consistently meh service does not make up for it. Tell me how its normal that the cashier picks up a phone to take call in order while taking my order at the register. As a result my order was made with a different pasta than I requested.

The food was bland, unseasoned and below average. We ordered a margherita pizza, Tuscan fries, steak sandwich with Caesar salad and carbonara pasta. The pizza came with almost no cheese and the crust was soggy. The steak on the sandwich was unseasoned and had no flavour and the Caesar salad was dry and also flavourless. The fries were lukewarm and not crisp and the carbonara was probably not something most people would consider carbonara. Overall it was a very disappointing meal and a waste of money, I would not give this place another chance.

Ordered food the portion for the price they charged way too little and everything has too much salt and they did not even give me bread with my pasta

5 years ago, I gave Via Cibo 5 stars and Ive been coming here consistently at least 2-4x a month to get my kid the kids pizza after school. Today, I ordered as I usually do and I received a cold pizza that is significantly smaller than it was just 2 weeks ago. The kids pizza used to at least fit the small pizza box, but I was aghast seeing the little pizza inside the box with more box space than pizza. When I called them to ask what happened why its cold and significantly smaller They answered that its the same dough. Clearly, it isnt cause it wasnt like this just last week or the 200+ other times Ive ordered this same pizza. I get that restaurants are having a hard time so I never minded the increase in the price of the kids meal every year, but cutting it down to the point of a pizza that slides around in its box cause its half the size of what it used to be is very unacceptable, embarassing and disappointing. You just lost a regular customer of over 5 years. Had I known what Id be getting, I wouldnt have tipped for this pick up order.

It was okay. I wasnt sure what to do when I walked in. I assumed it was a standard Italian restaurant, but you order at a counter and if youre dining in, you find yourself a table and get a number so they can bring the food when ready. Easy enough, but not expected. The wait wasnt too long for our sausage pasta and a shrimp risotto, and ice water was served when we didnt order drinks from the counter. Overall, the food was good, but nothing amazing. I could see myself coming back to try more of the menu, but its not really a date night type place and more for when you just want some quicker Italian food. The place is clean and the service, at the counter, was pleasant. If youre in the area, check them out, but I wouldnt go out of my way.

Stumbled across this place while driving back from downtown. The concept is great, counter ordering with food made fresh and served to your table. Reminds me a little of the Marche experience from tears ago. We had the linguine carboanara with panceta and rose penne pasta with shrimp. . Carboanara was good. More cream then egg. You could taste and crunch the chopped garlic - I suspect they chopped it early and it sat to dry out, needed salt and a ton of it. Rose was tasty - after a ton of salt, but the tomatoes were large and still had their skins on - a lazy shortcut. And pet peeve. Better to use canned Sans Romano and skip the local out of season mush. Also ordered an Arancini appetizer. Came as 3 small rice balls on a bed of marinara sauce. Sauce was good. Arancini was not. Another shortcut. They used their prepared mushroom risotto, added fresh basil, coated an deep fried. The result was a liquidy interior with a crunchy bitter taste. The fresh basil burned became black and was extremely bitter. Many other patrons seemed happy and most had pizza. We liked and ate all our food. With just a few changes this restaurant could be much better.

I order from Via Cibo quite regularly and they have delicious pastas and breads! We are never disappointed when we get food from here. Always tasty as well as affordable.

Let me start by saying the lasagna was absolutely delicious!! We ordered catering and got a large lasagna that lasted several days of leftovers, the sauce was to die for and the lasagna flavours were enough for Garfield to fall head over heels for! The fettuccine Alfredo was just as delicious and served for another round of meals to come. The pizza was wonderful, thin and had great toppings. Theres also a Philly cheesesteak that I ordered here cause theres a whole other cheesesteak menu, and the portion was hearty and large so I highly recommend that! The Tuscan fries are also a must have!! Used to go here a lot in the past, but only been here again recently, and the food quality seemed to have gotten better, whether a change in management or quality. But it was an A+ for me this round!

Can totally taste the difference in the pasta dishes. So fresh! Each bite of pasta was so soft and with the gnocchi I got, it had a nice chewiness to it. Also had the chance to try the fam s chicken parmigiana. Chicken was nice and juicy and just so easy to eat! Love the quick service concept where you line up order and then grab a table and they bring the food to you! The espresso bar was nice. Had a latte, but I thought it was more of a milkier taste to what I m used to. Service was awesome! No rushing my fam and i to order. They also gave a couple suggestions to what we could order off the menu. And the food came out pretty quick. We did get to beat the lunch rush by just a hair, which was nice too! Great job overall! Freshly made pastas and salads were tasty and an all round good lunch experience. The quality was there, only the presentation was lacking. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, good for family even with toddlers, or on a date. Prices were about $20-25pp for entries. Would I go back there again? Yes, as it is a good alternative in the district.

Very disappointed with the manager yesterday. Had to complain because the order was delayed, and waited for 1 hours but no apologies. The staffs are nice, but the manager (male) seemed very arrogant. Hope this store closes down soon.

Hubby and I have been ordering from Via Cibo for a while and WOW! We have never eaten a tasty pasta like theirs! Food always arrive on time, warm and delicious!

We recently ordered from this place to our home and our pancetta came burned on the gnocchi and there was no sauce on the Alfredo pasta because the sauce broke. We called and voiced our complaint. Within 5 minutes the manager called us back and apologized and said they will make a fresh order and have it delivered to us free of charge. The food came and it was fantastic! The manager even put a hand written note apologizing for the mistake and sent extra treats for us. I was really impressed with the way they handled everything and I am definitely going to order from them again. Im not sure if its new management based on the comments I saw from a year ago, but I would implore you to take a chance and go into the restaurant! You will not be disappointed, the food is really good when they take their time with each dish.

Best Italian food in the city! I always order for delivery and it always arrives perfect. The carbonara gnocchi is the best thing I ve ever tasted , I always add the caramelized onions, it s soooo good. The chicken parmigiana is delicious and the portion is huge too. Today our order came with a hand written note thanking us for our order, loved it, made my birthday dinner great.

They ll get to you when they feel like it. Chances are, when you walk in, they ll be attending to some task -take out orders, etc, before you even get acknowledged at the counter.

Got the lunch special pasta with side greens and a soda. I also ordered an espresso, although I shouldve ordered a double and asked for it after the meal. The greens were not as fresh as Id have liked, but they were well dressed. The tomatoes were quite delicious with it. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with a good amount of sauce and parmesan. The bread that came with it was the right combination of crusty, with a soft interior that had a slight chew -- perfect for cleaning up the rest of the sauce on the plate. The service was good, too. THe staff were knowledgeable behind the counter and friendly in the dining area. There are a few more dishes on the menu Id like to try, and I will certainly be back again.

Find a table, order at the counter and theyll bring you your food. Its a little different from the traditional style, but I like it. The place is nice, bright and spacious. The food is pretty good and they do not skim on the ingredients. I would definitely go again.

Fresh and delicious food, everytime

I recently went in with another patron and we were greeted with 3 juvenile workers giggling like high schoolers. One of the workers who was shorter, sandy-haired and wearing a mask (unsure if male/female) made the comment Poor thing! . We weren t sure if they were commenting on our pup who was was in a ventilated carrier tote (we were getting take out), or toward us, but that is by far the most disgusting and immature service provision I ve ever encountered. In light of this giggling and commentary, I decided not to order food from this restaurant because I do not trust persons like these preparing or handling food. If you don t like your job, work elsewhere. Learn to be polite and never make assumptions because those are certainly noted (and you never know by whom and how many). We will be addressing this issue moving forward.

Went here twice a couple months ago and the first time, our pizza was really burnt - had to scrape off the black parts. The second time, the pizza dough was undercooked - the middle of the crust still looked doughy. The pasta was pretty good though. Portion isn t huge, but taste wise it was good.

I order from here atleast twice a month, either dining in or ordering out. I usually get the carbonara, prosciutto piadina, or the mushroom risotto, which have always been made perfectly and so tasty! When I dine in, I like the atmosphere. It s like an upscale fast food place. You order at the counter, but then you seat yourself and they bring the food to you. You re able to see the cooks preparing the food at any angle of the restaurant. High ceilings, big windows, so lots of natural light comes in. I also always order an Italian soda, and the experience of receiving a tall glass of fruit flavoured drinks and mixing it just makes me happy xD The only downside I would say is that the pizza is inconsistent. Sometimes the crust seems burnt and the middle isn t fully cooked and soggy. Only a few times the pizza was cooked well throughout. But besides that, I will forever be a devoted costumer! The price for the amount of pasta you get is great, unlike alot of other Italian restaurants. I.LOVE.PASTA. and I always recommend this place to people when they re craving it. SO GO AND TRY IT OUT :D

I had a fabulous lunch of chicken, portobello mushrooms and a delightful salad. It was heavenly food and great customer service. I was joined by my 2 cousins who also had beautiful meals. We will go there again.

A great food but the Margherita is my favorite.

First time here, the staff was very patient with us looking over the menu and ultimately we ordered some takeout pasta for our son. The seating arrangement and atmosphere were super chill and comfy. I havent had great experiences with Italian restaurants but their pasta was genuinely really fresh and tasty. Great blend of flavour and my son really enjoyed it. Overall, definitely coming back to try something else.

Via Cibo is one of my favourite places to get Italian Food. My favourite is their Carbonara! Their pastas are always fresh, the staff are great, and the food is amazing! I use to work in the area and would come in person and the atmosphere of the establishment is great! You can really tell they have a good manager! It s very clean and welcoming! I ve recently been using Ubereats, as I don t work in the area anymore, but my orders are usually on time, hot, and are priced very well. Most of my issues are usually related to the Uber (I.e. the driver taking longer than usual to deliver, due to multiple deliveries or traffic). So far I have yet to have an issue when it comes to food with Via Cibo. Overall this is a very good restaurant! It is well run, clean, and very welcoming. The food is amazing and the staff are great!

Went to Via Cibo for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I got a recommendation from Dila who had only been working there for 3 days and was spot on with the pesto chicken sandwich. The pizza I had last night was a slice of heaven. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, yet wonderfully soft inside. The combination of rich tomato sauce and gooey, melted cheese was a taste explosion in my mouth. Topped with fresh basil and pepperoni, it was a delightful medley of flavors and textures. Each bite was a journey to pizza perfection, and I cant wait to savor it again.

Was looking for Italian restaurants and stumbled across via cibo. The service and food was spot on! I will be coming again to try new dishes but overall experience was a 10/10! Highly recommend coming here if you like Italian food.
