Vivo Restaurant in Toronto

We love this place! We come here because we can get a delicious antipasto, plate of pasta or pizza, Italian style-without having to go all the way downtown! Manuel provides outstanding recommendations and service. He is parallel to none and truly what every Italian restaurant needs. We love the changes on the menu and will be back soon to try the rest of the new delicious items! Everyone wanting a decent Italian meal with a great ambiance + great service, needs to come here. 5 stars from us.

The perfect spot for really good food near the park with classic and authentic Italian dishes. The new menu is great we had, Vivo salad, Fungi pasta, black cod, sorbet all the dishes were excellent! Thank you to Manuel and the kitchen for a lovely meal.

We had Orecchiette con Rapini and SCALOPPINE DI VITELLO and 2 glass of our choice of red wine for our special date that night November 4th. The experience is beyond our expectations, the food are delicious. We live in the area for over 3 years, finally had a chance to try it out and well we will be coming back for sure!!! The food was great and the staff went above and beyond to make my 10 year old feel very special on his birthday, including preparing his favourite pasta dish off menu.

I visited Vivo (Bloor St W) for the first time with two good friends. We had outstanding service, and the food was delicious. I cant eat gluten and that always is limiting in an Italian restaurant, but I was able to substitute a GF penne into most of the pasta dishes and the one I had was fabulous! I was pleasantly surprised!

Tasty cappuccino, reasonably priced. Cant wait to go back for the secret pizzas. Holly is the best!

We brought our children here and the servers went out of their way to provide a special experience. We all loved the pasta and pizza we ordered and the Pizzaolo threw the dough for us to watch! This was such an amazing experience for us and we definitely recommend checking it out !

I have never seen a toilet like that, smells like there is pee sitting there for a week(and there is) We ordered pasta and were sitting close to the kitchen with an open view. The cheff tried the sauce with his fingers and grabbed the pasta barehands. The server took about 15 minutes to come back with drinks. And disappeared right after. Good taste, but I wont come again

Calamari for me was the best tasting out of all the pasta and pizza we ordered. Cheesecake was delicious. The atmosphere was great however our server made us feel that we were rushed despite an hour or so before closing hence didnt feel like ordering more.

I recently dined at Vivo on 7/20/24, and I have to say, their pizza is hands down the best Ive ever had! The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and generous. Each bite was a delightful experience. Whoever made the pizza should definitely get a raise. I think it was Tejo who made this. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. If youre looking for the best pizza in town, look no further than Vivo. Highly recommend!

Very good food, price is average. One small suggestion , Vivo needs to serve bread with oil and balsamic vinager as an Italian tradition. Otherwise excellent...Oh yea and a nice cappuccino!!!

I have been going there for years with my family and I ve taken other families with me. It s a great spot for lunch and dinner and family style meals. The staff are quite welcoming. I particularly love their specials, but basically any food on the menu is amazing pasta pizza, the seating is very comfortable and quit spacious. Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible parking in the neighbourhood is pretty reasonable and it s near high Park which we d love to do after a meal. Also the subway station.

Everything was great except for the strawberry tartuffo (icecream) the coating made it seem dry.

Came here with a buddy for dinner and ordered the seafood linguine. It was delicious, although I would ve preferred it the crab meat didn t come with the shell.

This is a great neighbourhood restaurant that we have gone to for years. We have historically sat outside but the extreme heat and torrential rain sent us inside to the lounge area this time. Nice!! Very comfortable, great space, with the usual pleasant service and reliably delicious food.

Restaurant was stunning inside and the pizza was incredible. I ve had VIVO many times before and they re always great but the last time I went it was truly exceptional. Seems like they did renovations recently. This place should be so popular. Patio looked great as well.

Why is this place still in business? We came as a family of 9 to celebrate a birthday at 5:30 on a Friday night. We sat outside near the condo entrance. The servers are all polite and present themselves well, but that s about it. They are disorganized, forgetful and slow. If there was one server assigned to our table we wouldn t know it because within the 2 hours we spent there at least 4 came by our table to try to rectify each other s mistakes. No one asked if we needed more water halfway through the meal. No one bothered to collect the menus after we ordered. We got some appetizers and then waited 30-40 minutes for our pizzas. When we reminded someone to bring them it seems they were never punched in. The excuse was their system has been down that day. But the waiter had taken the order on a notepad, so the logical thing to do would have been to go to the kitchen and make sure it was received. One of the mains orders, he neglected to write down so when everyone s pizza arrived he went to place the additional order. 15 minutes later one of us went inside to check on it and again it had not been sent to the kitchen. The lack of attention and expediency was blamed on an engagement party happening indoors. If you don t have capacity for more clients, do not take reservations! I went in to us the bathroom and from what I could see the party had pre-made platters of food and no one was attending to them, so it was an empty excuse. They offered us dessert on the house for inconvenience which we did not want because we had brought our own cake and were planning to eat it on the condo rooftop after dinner. The complex and appetizer for the inconvenience and the pizza that never arrived in the first place we asked them to remove a salad that was sent back on account of rotten lettuce. Again, the waiters were polite and apologetic but there was no excuse for the lack of efficiency and service. Having worked in the service industry for more than a decade many years ago, this kind of thing would run your business into the ground. Will never recommend this place, and in fact warm people against going there.

I had an absolute experience at Vivo last night with my wife and Sister in law. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the management was top notch, the patio was clean, comfortable and refreshing, and the food.... dont even get me started. I like to eat, and yesterday I worked up quite the appetite. So in usual fashion I ordered both a pasta and a pizza(rigatoni bolognese and the Prosciutto and arugula pizza). My wife ordered the Cesar salad to start, SIL got the arugula salad with beets and walnuts. These salads were fresh, delicious, and incomparable to others. The Cesar salad has to be the best Cesar I have ever had, and I like my Cesar salads. The arugula salad was absolutely delicious as well, the beets and walnuts brought this new flavor that was refreshing and delicious. My rigatoni showed up, and the portion alone was a good hearty meal. The pasta, perfectly cooked, the sauce was flavorful and robust, and the meal altogether was delicious and well balanced. The pizza arrived, and I have never had a pizza like this before. The crust was divine, the toppings were generous and fresh, and such a wonderful portion of food. We were there for a late dinner last night, and to this very moment, I am still full and satisfied. But then dessert came along... and who can turn down a tiramisu that takes the cake for display, flavor and construction? We were also pointed towards a dessert qe hadnt thought of. A flaked pastry with pistachio cream and topped with chocolate and pistachios.... honestly, otherworldly in flavor and construction. The staff was top notch, the food was amazing, and the desserts are to die for(figuratively speaking). If youre questioning visiting Vivo, do it. Experience it, and try to tell me differently on my review. Cant wait to go back again soon! Thanks to the whole Vivo staff for having us last night!

The 2024 update .a local neighbourhood Trattoria just killing the.Bloor Street scene with the most extraordinary staff service and cuisine. They also hold the honour of having the best patio In high park. They produce modern and classic italian dishes with the highest quality ingredients. Their passion for food and experiences is evident in everything they do. Their visionary and owner Gianluca has developed a lively lounge and bar to compliment their already spectacular dining room. On a recent visit, the Boston (east coast) scallops were beyond this Earth. Innovative and fresh Daily features along with old time favourites co-exist here. The resto is located at the bottom of the Daniels High Park Condo, it is crisp and inspiring with underground parking accessed via oakmount or pacific. Thank you of being such a nucleus to the neighbourhood. You are immensely appreciated. This is a sensational resto with awesome food BUT it is really the SERVICE which excels. I dine here at least 3-4 times weekly. Diego is a star on the floor. Highly engaging, considerate and sharp. Always on the move with flawless and precise service. however he is not alone. Mila, Kayla and Chelsea are epic as well. It is a 100 foot walk from my home to this resto. They have some of the best pastas and salads I have tasted. The Pizza is ridiculous. They have daily specials from Beef tenderloin to delicious Branzino. The presentation of the space, food, and service are always beyond my expectation. Bottomline. . They care. And they deliver.

Had a girls night at Vivo Bloor, food was excellent. Manuel our server was super attentive and great with suggestions. Cocktails were amazing! Their bartender kazuki has his own signature drinks just tell him what you like and he works magic. Nin the manager is a warm hearted welcoming gentleman. All around 5 star. 10 star if I could!

Pasta is bland and overpriced. Also got a margarita pizza that was really soggy and wet idk what happened there. We also waited for our food forever.

We stopped in to grab some drinks before heading home for the night, took us little to no time to be seated, but when we told our waiter we only wanted drinks he changed his attitude towards us completely. We haven t been approached if we want refills though our glasses are empty, and when we try to get his attention he frowns at us and walks to other tables. Once we finally stopped him and asked for our bill, he shoved his finger in our face and told us to wait. I am so disappointed and won t ever be returning. Not the place to grab drinks at all.

Run by an unreliable family they steal staff tips and then make excuses as to what might have happened. Not to mention the bugs in the food enough is enough. This place is disgusting. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere that wont feed you disgusting roaches and bugs, or belittles their staff in front of everyone guests included.

Just finished. It was wonderful. I came to see the cherry blossoms and got hungry. Started walking and saw the Pizza and Pasta sign outside and thought Great! Let s try it! So happy I did! Great ambiance, well lit (finally a place with light!), not very loud. Food was amazing and very well priced, especially for Toronto. Service was great, and they have a large enough dining room that I could quietly sip my tea after my meal without them running out of tables, even on a Friday. Had the caprese which was quite large, which is nice, and the carbonara, very appropriate portion, filling but not overly so. Tartuffo for dessert, nice rich taste without being too sweet. Really amazing time :)

We are an Italian family living in Toronto and this place reminds us a lot about home. The pizza is great, the tiramisu was excellent and the service is outstanding. Special thanks to Antonio that always takes excellent care of us, thanks to him we alway feel at home! Highly recommended!

Went there for lunch with my friend and we had a great time. If you want to try more than one plate, it s a great place to share the food and not go bankrupt since the price is very good for the quality and portion size.

We stopped here after walking around High Park. Our host Nin was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He oozed happiness, which we appreciated. We decided to share the bruschetta and a feature pizza, the Drago Di Calabria. Both were absolute delicious. The bruschetta was perfect, on a piece of bread that crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. The pizza was amazing, with just the right amount of heat. Strongly recommended.

A friend and I went for lunch and happened at this restaurant unintentionally. The patio was a great atmosphere, great for people watching but just out of the way of the busy street. Our server was extraordinary and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best service. (Forgot his name, but he had his dog tattooed on his arm). The food was amazing and well priced for the quality and amount that we received. 10/10 would go there again and would recommend .

He gave me a desert and was super accommodating to our needs! I would honestly go back just to see him again he was that impressionable very down to earth and gave us tips on how to drink wine with appreciation!! Been a customer of Vivo for a long time however this time we went to the Jane and bloor location and got a server name Leo. He was the best server I have had in ages! He made our night and I will most definitely be going back to get his service. Leo we loved you. I will be going back to sit at his table in the future. Thanks for the memories. Thanks again Leo!!!

Very bad experience

Excellent food, drinks and service! Honestly, Im a little shocked by the low reviews. I brought my partner and parents here for dinner. The portions were generous, the food is delicious and the server was very attentive. The prices are reasonable and in keeping with the quality of the food. Highly recommend and hope it stays in the neighborhood for a long time!

The dish I had was quite tasteless...bland and overpriced for it. If it had been good I wouldnt have minded the price. I have had a few different dishes and none of them have been good. Im not a picky person!

Never again, it wasnt the first time but over the years the prices increase and the quality decreases. At these prices I shouldnt find a hair in my pizza and pay 8 dollar for a tiramisu the size of a small pot of yogurt.

My husband and I were there for dinner last weekend the service was horrible. Very slow my husband had the La Romana pizza it was cold in the middle and doughy not cooked properly. I had penne vodka The pasta was undercooked, and I like al dente but it was horrible It Didn t have much sauce or taste either Very disappointing

Do not support this business as they mistreat their staff and their food is not even good.

Was here just the other night and could not believe how bad the service was! Rude and dismissive, did not care one bit that I was a customer spending money there! The food was gross, very close to inedible. Will not be back, they should be ashamed of themselves, calling this Italian food!

Man I love this place. Today Joe was my waitstaff and Im thrilled to say the least - very humble and lovely person. Everytime I come here Im always welcomed and fed to perfection. My favourite dish here is the Polo Alla Griglia and the terimisu!! The salads here are also rich with the right ingredients. Super affordable and the atmosphere is so clean and temperature is always right. The view to the park and neutral light from the floor to ceiling windows really adds to the experience. I feel refreshed and nourished when I come here. Music is also subtle and nice. Truly everything is well thought out. Even the booths are extremely comfy and the WiFi was available with no hassle making this my go to spot when I have a client meeting or need a break from the desk but cant stop working.

First of all WOW. Went into vivo with my girlfriend today for lunch and I was so surprised, the food, the staff, everything about the establishment amazed me. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Great job!!

I am so pleasantly surprised!! Not only is the food incredible, but the service and the people are wonderful. My boyfriend and I have lived above a Vivo for almost a year and we regret not trying it sooner! We got the Capricciosa pizza, margherita pizza, arancini, and tiramisu - great amount of food and would definitely recommend. Looking forward to taking friends here soon. :) (ps if ur having a bad day this is a great place to lift ur spirits)

I went to the place because I found the photos on the internet interesting, but unfortunately when I arrived at the place the pizza tasted burnt. And there were no napkins on the table, just the ones that come with the cutlery, I had to take the cutlery from the other table to get the napkins, there was nothing to pick up the pizza with, and they also didnt put anything on the table to eat with the pizza!

The Prosciutto pizza was packed with savory flavor and perfect crust. If you enjoy Italian food, you will really appreciate this Vivo location. Calamari and shrimp starter is hard to beat. My Mom says incredible! My favourite pizza is Vivo for the perfect combo of spicy, salty, and cheesy. Texture is right on! Such a nice experience and service makes you want to come back for lunch and dinner.

Discovered this wonderful spot over the summer of 2023 when I stopped in to have a glass of Pino while passing some time. Interestly, I had had my eyes on this place after walking by several times during my walks through the area. Then came late November, I decided to check it out again for a sit-down-alone, self-care type of evening. I sat at the bar, where Jessicas top-class service resulted in my enjoying three glasses of their mixed house wine Bettero Di Cello. It complimented their Calzone, which surprisingly came as a panzerotto. It was stuffed with salami, mushrooms, black olives and fior di latte. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the service. Also, Mila was fantastic as she topped the service off and my time spent there really nicely with her smile, warmth, and a complimentary dessert. Bravo to the team and the service. Ill be back again.

As a regular, the service provides by Mila is one of the main reasons we continue to come back.

Jessica provided us with an amazing experience! We had Gnocchi & Margherita Pizza. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: We are dairy-free and had no problem requesting adjustments to our dishes.

What a great deal, I m a picky guy when comes to Italian food because I moved from Italy here, and after many try and being disappointed by various italian restaurants around GTA, I finally find this place where to eat a great authentic Italian food at a reasonable price. There is CLEAN and Safe first of all, and I find this magic atmosphere, a mix of contemporary design with vintage images of Italy, the people working there are always on top of you to make sure that you are happy and comfortable with the them food and service, what more to expect? I wish I can rate 10, not 5, I also tried the location in Major Mackenzie, the best place to eat a good carbonara in GTA so far.

The owner was exceptionally kind. While my friends and I were waiting outside the restaurant, trying to decide whether or not, we wanted to buy anything. We ran into a stranger and asked him any average prices in the restaurant. He ended up saying that apparently he was the owner and he offered to pay for our food, and give us food for free! Honestly, this sounds like a scammer, but it s actually the truth that I can t believe it happened. The food was amazing. We enjoyed the richness of the pasta, the spaghetti. Thank you so much for your good service! This deserves 5 Stars! Kid-friendliness: We are kids. They were very friendly, we could confirm.
