service was good but the food not so much. We ordered some lunch specials that were ok, but then when ordering wings that were either old or the batter/oil had issues, could not touch them... We were charged anyways for the wings we did not finish.... So ended up paying $30 for not so great food, definitely not going back

Good good, good place, nice people, nice drink.

Food was okay and the price was fairly reasonable, service was kinda meh though. Got asked twice if I was done selecting what I wanted in the span of 10 minutes. Thus I had to pick the food without getting the chance to properly decide. Only three tables were occupied at that moment so it wasnt even like they were busy.

So this place is usually my go to for bento boxs because the portions are so big but this time around the food was not fresh at all, I order two of the bento fuyu the steak bento and the steak was ice cold and tasted really gross, like it tasted like old meat and the octopus balls were not cooked thoroughly and the tempura was stale like it was hard so this seems like my order was cancelled by some one and then given to me because I ordered it with uber eats and everything was process and packed and got to me in 20 minutes flat so I can only assume nothing was fresh and everything was old and stale, the only good thing was the sushi and thst was fresh, I wont be ordering from here any more, its too expensive to try and see if they corrected their mistake for a second round.

I write this as I m eating their sushi sashimi roll natsu combo. I tried this place out during the pandemic when ordering ubereats was a big thing. I was actually surprised at the quality. It rivals other well known sushi establishments. Couple years later we decided to have sushi from here again and consistently, I m impressed with the freshness, presentation, and value. Staff are super duper nice. They also have a preso tea bubble tea shop within so very convenient for drinks. I think we have just found our go to place for sushi!!!

The restaurant was less than half full at lunch time and pretty quiet but reasonably clean. The staff were polite and took our orders without fuss. They spoke Chinese which seems to be common for many Japanese restaurants in the GTA. I had the Monday special ramen noodle soup for lunch. After ordering our food we waited for close to 30 min. I asked the waiter where our food was and suddenly all our food came out. I wonder how long it was sitting there? Anyways, the ramen overall was not flavourful and the soup was salty. The noodles themselves were bland. The meat was sliced too thickly and a bit tough. The sushi was not bad. I would get ramen here but the sushi is decent. Disappointed that for a restaurant that was not busy our food took so long to come out.

This is a very good restaurant. It was nice and quiet. I had the fried rice and wife had bento with bubble tea and a cheesecake. It was enjoyable experience

I wasn t gonna write this review, but after sitting on my experience here I didn t want anyone else to go through the experience I did. The serving staff were fantastic, but I don t know where to start. Whether I start by talking about the poor quality of ingredients or the fact the chefs decided to use meats they knew darn well that were passed their usage time. The ramen noodles gave off a foul mouth flavour even though their packet ramen powder soup had an overbearing flavour of MSG it couldn t mask the foul taste of the noodles or the smell from the pork. The pork in one of our ramens had a greenish hue and was ultimately chewy and rubbery much like my car tire. The sushi rice was colder than the fresh ingredients it housed. Overall this is a huge health issue which can cause serious stomach bugs and food poisoning. Never coming back here again! *Update* After my meal here I felt nauseous a few hours later as this was my first meal of the day. I couldn t stomach anything else and spent a while in the washroom puking everything back up. Steer clear of this place!!!

I really like this place. Good value, delicious sushi and friendly service. If you dine in, the atmosphere is quite nice also. They also just changed to eco friendly packaging for take-out. Thumbs up!

It looks good but tasteless, the quality of the meat is not that good, the miso soup even has a slight smell, the environment is dirty, there are a lot of flies flying everywhere, for the sake of health, it is recommended not to eat it

Parking: HIGH RISK! Less this store and more the entire retail entity here. Whatever you do, do not leave your vehicle and go off their property: they will see on their cameras and immediately report your car for impound. If youre a Seneca student especially, or if you are seen with a backpack, they will call in towing services the second you step off property, regardless if youre a customer. Come only if youre willing to risk $300 expense. From personal experience, I left to pick something up before lunch and within the hour my van was towed.

My favourity sushi place

We didnt expect to find such a hidden gem, but we did! The staff were wonderfully pleasant and attentive, offering great options for us. The portions were bigger than we thought, and the flavour was pretty good! Well definitely mark this down as a Favourite, and come here whenever were in the neighbourhood...

Entered there and went out right away. Staff not welcoming, food left over the counter unchecked/open. They charge extra for using any card payment [taxes?!] And no discount on cash. Service

The servers were really nice, service was fast, food was fresh, place was clean personally I didn t like the strawberry milk drink.(It s just my personal opinion, you might try the drink and judge yourself.)

I used to dine here once in a while when it was still called Mizuki Sushi. The sushi tastes delicious and fresh, but the customer service needs improvement.

Had an assorted sashimi plater and sashimi on rice. All taste good but not the octopus and scallops. They were served with room temperature and strong fishy smell.

Started with take out, and then had my first dine-in experience. It s a great atmosphere. They also sell Presotea boba which is amazing. Food is great. An AYCE option would be nice.

The soy sauce was disgusting and felt like it was from 2 centuries ago, It was saltyyyyyy. We could not chew/eat the seaweed at all. The sushi itself was 3/10 and my mom, who has had sushi multiple times before, vomited right after eating it.

Chiba is my go to sushi restaurant because the service is always great and the food is delicious. I always get the crispy spicy sushi set as its a great value and perfect portion. Thanks to the staff for always being welcoming.

I ve been ordering from Chiba on Ubereats for years! Normally I get the dinner bento set - the portions are huge and the food is always delicious!

Came here for takeout, food was good. Wait times were long but it is the holidays. It was very uncomfortable waiting there with extremely rude customers (food delivery drivers actually) who were insulting the staff nonstop. Kudos to the staff for not putting up with the abuse. Nice to see management stand up to disgustingly rude customers for once. Five stars just for having the backbone to kick these rude people out! No one deserves to get shouted at and insulted, no matter how long the wait time. Workers are people too.

Today we ordered a dinner for two $50. The portion size is getting skinny.

The food is good. Had the ramen twice pretty tasty. Although its pricey. ($15 for a bowl of BBQ pork ramen.)

Walking into a restaurant on a Friday night and it was only 20% full at the most. I knew I couldnt expect very much. Well, the foods were edible but nothing I would brag about to your friends. We ordered Japanese curry chicken cutlet. The curry sauce has 0% trace of Japanese flavour It tasted more like Malaysian curry but it was way too watery to compare to the usual thicker texture of Malaysian curry. The service was just okay. Well, the price was reasonable so I would give them credit for that. Will I visit this place again? Not likely.

Food quality was really poor here. The white tuna sashimi we ordered had gone bad. Even if this hadnt happened the rest of the sushi and the ramen we had were dull and lacked any taste. Quite expensive also.

Ordered takeout for a pokebowl, was told it was going to take 30 minutes which is a bit on the longer side, showed up and waited an extra 20 minutes longer without even so much as an apology. Will not be going there again

Recommend!!! This was my first time here at Chiba, I brought my student sister and I have to say, every single thing we had was delicious and fresh. We got a bento box, ramen, cheese wontons (some of the best Ive had!) And bubble teas. Next time I visit Ill definitely come back!

I just ordered a lunch special that says on the menu $11.99 for sushi and comes with soup and salad. They gave me 8 pieces of sushi for $14no soup or salad. False advertising. I would ve just ordered a la carte sushi and chose my sushi instead of the lunch combo where I don t get to pick exactly what I want. Never coming back here

Worse ever

Hidden gem in a strip mall at the corner of DonMills and Finch. Always fresh and excellent quality. Affordable too! Beautiful decor and good wait staff. I go at least once a week.

They do use the most garbage part of salmon in sushi rolls

Great value, huge portions, very fresh with lots of choices, very tasty and not expensive, especially considering the size of the meals. I had a bento box, my husband had udon soup, both were excellent. We will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian choices. Parking: In a busy local plaza, lots of parking.

Their sushi and sashimi are fresh and good. Staff were very friendly and efficient. I ordered via their new online platform and they are now offering any party tray with 2 Free Presotea bubble tea!! Thats like $12 bucks already. What a deal! Very happy that we found a new sushi go-to place in the neighborhood with good bubble tea too! Cant wait the reopening for dine in again. The ambivalence is pretty nice and cozy there.

Update (28 Dec 2020) : Changing rating from 5 to 4. Super expensive. I hold their card and never going back until the price drop. CoVID is crazy. Previous review ( Before March 2020) : Amazing Japanese restaurant. Very clean, good interior design and good quality food. I evaluate a good japanese place by trying their Sashmi and these guys nailed it. I think the place is run by Cantonese or Taiwanese people as most of the staff speak Cantonese and I love their bubble tea. Very nice staff. This will be my go to place from now on and I will always order my Michu Bento box

Went on a date here, and the service was awful. We went for the all you can eat sushi, however, after only being there for 45 minutes, the staff rushed us out with excuses that the kitchen was closing, yet they were no where near closing time. They also force you to tip, automatically applying to the bill, so check carefully before double tipping!

Chicken taryaki with lots of fat

We ordered a tray for takeout. Very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

I bought the chicken udon noddles, then found out too many bugs inside. First, i thought only one, so i just didn t mind. Then I found 3 more bug inside. Lol. So awful. I called to tell the restaurant. He just said that is impossible instead of saying sorry. Lol. He said send the pictures to him. I sent then no reply. So bad. I needed to call them back, then they said not thing there they can find the bug. They told me to come back they will make the new one. Lol. Who want to eat that thing again from them. I said i don t want that again. Just too scare to eat. Lol. They should offer refund my money back. It costs only $13. I don t care much about money but even the service customer is too bad. Just said not their fault. Be careful to order things there. Lol.

Pre-pandemic, me and my family visited very often. Now, we call ahead to make a pick-up order. Customer service has always been very nice. They have a very large selection of menu options. We often order bento sets, but my favourite are their special makis! EDIT: We recently revisited to try the new poke bowls. It was a decent amount of food and the ingredients tasted very fresh! We asked for less rice and it was no issue. It took about a little under 20min wait time after ordering in person.

Nice little place with good and quick service and delicious food. We have been ordering food here for take out for several months now (since the pandemic) and the quality is always great. Food is delicious and they have very good options at affordable prices. Also is conveniently located inside a open mall, so easy to park. I highly recommend it

Ordered the Chiba Special roll and Panda milk tea. Both items were really good. The staff was super friendly, I would definitely come back and order from them again.

I was searching for sushi restaurants near my house and found Chiba from Google Map. I ordered the 40 pieces sushi set, it came with 2 panda milk tea. The sashimi and sushi were fresh, rice was perfect (not too soft and not too hard). Very tasty and good price. I will come back again in the future.

[Patio dineout amid pandemic] Solid sushi location for the price. Salmon tasted fresh and service was good. Tea is available at no cost (and its pretty good). They also offer freebies at certain price point if paying in cash. The Presotea is directly within the restaurant and there is a discount on bubble tea for certain Chiba purchases.

An unexpectedly good find in one of the larger strip malls. Sashimi is fresh and the party trays offer great value. Combo meals appear to have the best value at this place. Presto tea is also located in the restaurant and is included in some combos. Will be ordering from. Here again.

This restaurant should not get 4.4 star. Sashimi and sushi are not very fresh as I expected. Tempera shrimps are so thin no meat. We ordered the beef remen noodles and tasted very good but mostly important the beef is way over over done, so disappointed. Overall I rated 2.5 stars.

Very average. Food was good value but very run of the mill. Service was passable but not the best. There were tiny fruit flies in the restaurant which was annoying. They follow COVID guidelines which is good. Some prices are about $1 more than the pictures you ll see of the menu.

What struck me immediately were the reasonable prices. I got a filling, good quality Katsu lunch and large bubble tea for about $20 including tax and tip. Would definitely return!

Honestly the service is really good here, the food took some time but the portion was very generous i couldn t even finish their bento box for 1. The food wasn t really special, i think they should use less vinegar in their sushi rice. But i was satisfied.

Unfortunately my husband had food poisoning after eating here (it was his first meal that day so we knew it couldnt be something else) but we have been to this restaurant several times before and never had this problem. Also the torched salmon sushi I ordered was not worth it as the pieces were so thin that they completely fell apart when picked up and not good value for $13. I otherwise enjoy the casual atmosphere and we received good service, just unfortunately the food was a disappointment.

A good Japanese restaurant located in a semi-sketchy strip mall. They have a very good daily special menu and the food quality is quite consistent. Nothing amazing but its very fairly priced.

Service was a bit slow likely because of reduction in staff due to covid. Once seated and ordered, food came quick enough. Good quality food. Nothing in the way of dessert, again likely due to covid, so got my daughter a smoothie to satisfy her sweet tooth. Our waitress also gave her a small pack of gummies out of her own treats i guess, which was very nice & thoughtful.

Made an UberEats order and this is what their brown sugar boba looked like. Extremely disappointed to have paid $7 for a tea and have this as the topping. I dont even know what this is. Super gross and disappointing.

Was excited to see a sushi place in this plaza since its a decently convenient location. The menu had an overwhelming 20 pages of options which should have been a red flag. Ordered the red dragon roll, which had 0.05mm thin salmon. The chicken ramen had no flavour and curry pork sauce tastes more like sweet & sour sauce. Took a chance on this place but I should have just gone to the Pho place next door.

We go there sometimes at lunch for the bento boxes cant beat it for around 10 bucks. Sometimes the staff throw a dessert sample. Staff are kind and dont rush you. I have never had a problem.

Food and service are both good. You can choose from a variety of type of food, ranging from Sushi, Sashimi to ramen or udon in soup to pan fried udon. I particularly enjoy the environment in the restaurant, very calm and not stressful.

The service attitude is so bad. The person who was very friendly on the surface hasnt left yet. As soon as he stood up, he said bad things behind his back, thinking that I didnt tip him enough. This happened more than once. There was also a male waiter who got angry because I asked for WeChat payment. In that store If you find it troublesome, you can not set up WeChat Pay. I will never go there again. Thinking that others can t understand Chinese and Cantonese
