Fine dine-in fusion Japanese restaurant
We had a lovely tasty meal here last night. So tasty! And beautiful. They weren’t busy because it was a Monday night-excellent service! Everything was so fresh too.
A very delicious Japanese restaurant. The plating in the picture is made by the owner himself. Everything is ordered individually and the owner will arrange them very delicately (There are set menus, but I ordered a la carte today.). The sashimi is very fresh and tastes very good. I recommend their dynamite roll- tempura shrimp, crab stick, avocado, cucumber.
We recently visited an outstanding Japanese restaurant in town to celebrate a birthday. The owner welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for a great evening. The sushi and sashimi were exceptional—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The entire experience, from the food to the service, exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning!
First time here @ Jyugoya. Was talking to the chef who comes from Jeju Island. We were talking about our trip to Korea last year. You taste more of the fish rather than the rice, like some other places. Will definitely be back.
Very good sushi. The atmosphere is a bit lacking, and the fact they don't have a liquor license is unfortunate. Great food, however and a good place for Japanese in Leaside.
Please like and follow. We went to Jyugoya just based on Google recommendations and since it was close to us. The place is nestled between two big food chains, which we didn't care for. The restaurant has an outdoors setting overlooking Bayview Street, perfect for people watching minus the people traffic. The inside decor is simple , clean, and tasty. ( check the pictures) The service is provided by the owner, who is very nice and extremely helpful. The food: The mizo shop is as expectedly warm and delicious. The gyozas were fried, crunchy, and delicious. I ordered the chicken tiryaki Bento box, and my company ordered the dragon roll. The bento box came with mizo soup and salad, which were tasty and fresh. I have to high the chicken teriyaki was prepared with chicken breast and was not dredging in the sauce. There were plenty of tempura to go around, almost 8 pieces, rice, rolls, and sesame balls. Everything was prepared carefully and delicious. The dragon roll was also very delicious. I highly recommend this place. I will come back and bring my friends
Best Sushi I've ever had! Thank you for the exceptional service and delicious Sushi and Japanese cuisine. Ingredients and fish are always top grade, freshest fish, and beautiful presentation. Owner and chef are wonderful, very welcoming, and most definitely the best in the business. This is my favourite goto restaurant when you want the best Sushi in Toronto. Thank you!!
Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Jyugoya Japanese restaurant and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience, especially when it came to their sashimi offerings. The quality of the sashimi was truly outstanding, surpassing any other I've had before. The fish was incredibly fresh, tender. The taste of the sashimi was simply the best, and they only use bluefin tuana. Not only was the sashimi and sushi, the overall dining experience was also truly delightful. Highly recommend this place!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely perfect and pricing is on par! Quality ingredients, flavor is traditional and tasty! Well done!
Food is absolutely incredible and beautifully presented. I have been to Jyugoya multiple times for lunch and will be going again.
Wonderful experience and the food is delicious. The Senual Pleasure roll is a must if you like spicy food!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. If I could give the service 6 stars I would!
I had the sashimi sushi bento box which was fantastic. The food is always fresh, delicious and not overly expensive. They have very creative rolls.
My experience at Jogoya was extraordinary. I keep going back for the dumpling soup, and the rolls are amazing. You ll feel like you re in heaven.
Hidden gem on Bayview, amazing sushi and uni hand roll is much try!
The new sizzling nasu roll is so good
The sushi and sashimi were fresh and flavorful. The presentation was nice. But it was a bit expensive for the amount of food we got.
Delicious sushi and sashimi set and tamago nigiri and aburi sushi. Interior is simple decor but food is fresh.
Great Japanese restaurant
Literally the best spicy Salmon Ive ever had. Been to Japan twice, and have eaten at countless Toronto restaurants, and Jyugoya is at the top of my list
Food is excellent - top quality. Prices are OK (not cheapest place). Service however is very slow, even though not exceptionally busy. Place defiantly prioritizes take out/uber orders. Tables were left uncleared after customers left. still rates a 4 as food was excellent.
This was our first time coming to Jyugoya. My 7 year old son ate deep fried cucumber rolls abroad, and hasn t stopped asking for them. Jyugoya satisfied his craving for what they charge for regular cucumber rolls! The photo is two sets of cucumber 6 rolls for $13.99. Since Jyugoya made this special cucumber roll for my son, I also ordered the chicken katsu appetizer and the tempura udon. Thank you for making a 7 year old very happy!
The place is smaller and with basic furniture. I went in there and it was not busy at all. I explained to the server it would be my gfs birthday the following week and it was important for me to book everything in advance. I made sure to get the best table on that day. The guy took my name, my phone number, took notes. On the bday day, we showed up to the restaurant which was CLOSED for no reason. The guy did not even bother calling me !! Thank you for ruining a birthday and a surprise!!!
The quality of the sashimi was good, and the sushi rice was held just right. The price was reasonable and it was delicious. We had Matsu sushi set and Chirashi. Great quality of sashimi and sushi was made very delicately. Friendly and accommodating vibe too. One of the best places in Toronto!
The only thing missing at this restaurant is the sake. The owner let me know he is working on the license, however, it would have paired perfectly with the amazing selection of sushi I had
Great food and the staff were really kind! I also really liked the patio away from the street and the comfy chairs! I got a tofu Bento box and my partner had two rolls (spicy salmon and shitaki mushroom) and chicken karaage. Everything was super fresh and tasty! We left very full and happy Vegetarian options: Tofu Bento box, various appetizers, various sushi rolls
The food was excellent!!
Amazing sushi, amazing service, amazing vibes, will definitely be back. Thank you again for such an incredible food experience
This place is really good. Like maybe one of the best spots in Toronto. They got off to a rocky start service-wise but have really stepped their game up lately. The food is incredible. Check this place out.
Best sushi in the city!!!
Rip off. Uses only tiny sliver of salmon in the very expensive pressed sushi. Also $5 per tiny slice of salmon sashimi is absurd.
Went there for sun lunch at 12pm. Had chirashi, tempura & my wife had hand roll. Food was good, cook was friendly with our kids. Overall very happy Parking: Parking is on Bayview Avenue. There are Green P parking also nearby.
Good quality and taste sushi. Inside was not cold enough so I sat outside.
The best sushi i ve ever had in toronto. Last time experienced having a good sushi was in vancouver and now this place. Everything so fresh and super delicious. Highly recommend it.
The reviews are amazing so we had to come. The staff are very friendly, the presentation is beautiful, the portion sizes are generous. Will definitely return.
Excellent.,, Boss, Ill go again.,
Had an absolutely incredible lunch Jyugoya Japanese Restaurant! Food was high quality, service was excellent, and presentation was delightful. Will definitely be back again!
We wanted to support local restaurant and this had great reviews. Service was friendly at this japanese restaurant. Sushi was beautifully presented. Fish/roll quality was ok. Decent uni is sometimes hard to find across the city and unfortunately did not enjoy it here. Regardless, still think it was worth a try. Our family overall enjoyed our dinner here.
Absolutely delicious sashimi! And beautifully presented. I will be back for sure
These guys are amazing. Not only did they remember my son from a visit 2 months ago, they remembered what he liked and disliked and were able to advise on today s order. Very nice space, beautiful presentation, tasty, and family friendly. Thank you!
The best Japanese sushi restaurant ever. Highly recommend this place. Food
Amazing presentation, the food came on a huge cutting board. The fish was very fresh. Shrimp tempura used tiger shrimp and was very tasty.
We ordered the sashimi for 2 and the black dragon roll. The food was top-notch. The portion was perfect for my partner and I. It was fresh, light, and flavorful. It was presented well and the server was very nice. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It s an ideal neighborhood sushi spot.
Literally the best sushi/sashimi I ve ever had. All ingredients are high quality and fresh, fabulous presentation. Stuff is super nice and friendly. Beautiful authentic interior with attention to details, nice Japanese tableware. I enjoyed food and atmosphere with my tongue and my soul. Vegetarian options: Has vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Waiter asks you about your dietary restrictions and accommodate them Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
My mom and I came in late and had a delicious dinner after a long day. The men that served us were friendly and thoughtful! Really enjoyed the yummy food, gentle atmosphere and kind smiles! Thanks guys!
The sushi here is great and at a very reasonable price. The presentation was amazing and would definitely visit again. I got the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and dynamite roll.
Had a take out for Sashimi and specialty roll. Amazing experience, authentic food!
Discovering this quaint restaurant was an absolute delight! Despite its size, the quality of every dish surpassed our expectations. Each ingredient tasted remarkably fresh, a testament to the chefs commitment to excellence. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the warmth and hospitality of the owner. Their genuine kindness added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure. Its the kind of place you cant help but share with friends, knowing theyll appreciate the exceptional dining experience as much as you did.
Delicious and beautifully presented
Clean and fresh fish... I really enjoyed it
Simple relaxed atmosphere with wonderful service and fabulous food. Fresh, flavourful and artfully dished meals make this a place you have to reward yourself with. Enjoy! Dietary restrictions: Staff and Chef were super accommodating for one member of our party who had strict dietary requirements. Very understanding and eager to assist with making changes and suggestions.
Food was very good here, all of the fish was fresh and good quality. Decent price too. Would definitely come back
I almost stopped eating sushi when I moved to Canada. It took me a while to find some spots that I liked in Toronto. We discovered this one on Bayview by chance and decided to stop after reading all the 5 starts comments. Well, this is a new addition to my list. Great variety, service, quality and value for money. They even charged us less for the O-toro (my always favourite niguiri) because it was not fatty enough. Thank you so much, it was delicious anyways!!
Good, solid sushi. Lots of meat, fancy presentation, but kinda pricy. Most combos arent padded with california rolls
Showed up at 11:35AM on Sunday for brunch, to find restaurant closed. Waited around for 10 minutes and left. Hours of operation displayed online and in store are inaccurate
Really great food. The guys there really care about their restaurant and is shows through the quality of food and service. Been there twice and will go again soon. Great addition to the Bayview area.
Impeccable presentation, fresh ingredients, and attentive service make it a top-notch dining choice. Highly recommend!
This is my second time eating here. I was warmly greeted when I entered & the sushi is very fresh delicious. I really liked the green dragon rolls, the dynamite rolls & the tempura.
Nice spot, Great food!
I wonder how many of theee reviews are real. Very unprofessional. Waiters were vaping in the restaurant.
By far one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in my life. The food tasted amazing, and the service was too notch. We ordered Suzuku rolls and Spicy Salmon rolls, really nice presentation!
LOVEEEE THIS SUSHI RESTAURANT AF YO! Very very good quality of sashimi and this is not the first time I went here. Had their chiraishi this time also sashimi platter before and they were all fresh and good. Staffs were all friendly and nice. Clean restaurant too. Its sad that the place is hidden by the baskin robbin and wings smth but this place definitely deserves a lot of exposure, its really recommended for their sashimi and the pricing is great too. <3 Also the portion is very generous hehehe Thanks for the experience
Amazing food, pictured is the seafood yaki-udon (not pictured: complementary miso soup and salad). Love the varieties of seafood on it! The atmoshpere was wonderful (we dined for lunch, it feels like itd be even better at night time/dinnertime), and neat intertior design if youre into that. Service was also great.
The sushi is definitely some of the best I ve had in a long time! Service was great and very welcoming - Will definitely be coming back regularly.
Holy moly! how did I get so lucky to stumble into this restaurant? The staff were very attentive and kind, and the food was art. I ordered the Uni-Otoro temaki and Seabass sushi to start and followed with the Jogoya Special Chirashi. Everything was so beautiful and so delicious. The fish was extremely fresh and this place has now become my new favourite sushi restaurant in town. Im so glad I decided to randomly try this little restaurant thats sandwiched between a Baskin Robbins and Wild Wing. This place is a treasure.
Great service, the staff were very attentive and the food was great.
Fresh, great value and beautifully presented sushi. The services is splendid also. Go here.
Great chicken katsu!
I absolutely love this place! I go for lunch every other week and I m always so pleased with everything. Starting from their menu selection, food quality, taste, freshness and their excellent customer service. I cannot recommend this place enough! Best sushi in the neighborhood!
I just had an incredible dinner with my family at Jyugoya. We were told this place was opening right at Millwood and Bayview, so we wanted to give it a try. As soon as we entered the restaurant the staff greater us. They were super friendly and told us that this was their first day open. Yi, one of the owners, seated us and went over the menu. My wife is a vegetarian and always has a few special requests. We ordered a tuna hand roll and some fried tofu as apps. My wife is particular with her tofu really enjoyed the vegetarian garden roll (I am terrible with remembering the actual names) with sweet tofu and yams. I tried the beef Udon. The noodles were perfect, and the beef broth was delicious. You could tell the chef took pride in everything that came out of the kitchen. He even came over to our table to ask for our feedback and told us a bit about himself. We had a great experience, delicious food, and friendly service. We are already planning to come back for our next date night and suggest you give it a try to
A newly opened sushi restaurant with a nice environment. The boss and staff are very nice.
Just recently visited this restaurant and service and atmosphere is amazing I work close by so I will be ordering and sit for lunch .
One of the best sushi place I ve ever tried in Toronto. Especially the quality of the fish is the top notch. Great price and for the great value. Definitely going back there again.
The salad is a must try to open up your appetite!! I like the citrus yuzu flavour dressing, never tasted so special salad dressing anywhere else. The tempura bowl is really good the breading is perfectly light and crunchy, tempura onion ring is a surprise. Sashimi set is super fresh and tasty, can taste the good stuff. The presentation is just soooo beautiful and picture friendly lol. Oh the house special rolls are so tastyyyy, and big portions too! We got 2 rolls and it came with 20 pieces, the one named Zen Garden could be a vegetarian choice. The pricing is surprisingly reasonable by the way. After tax and tips, $35 ish per person shared with a group of six. Vegetarian options: Zen Garden special rolls
A brilliant addition to the restaurant scene in this neighbourhood! With the generous portions, good taste and reasonable pricing, this Japanese restaurant will be a regular in my rotation. My recommendation is to for sure try the tempura when youre here. Im pretty picky when it comes to the ratios of shrimp to tempura batter and Jyugoya doesnt disappoint. Well done As for the mains, the quality of the sushi/sashimi is right up there with the top Japanese restaurants in the city. The tuna (o-toro) melted in my mouth Parking: I parked on the street beside the Wild Wings. Was pretty easy to find a spot. It was free parking too! Kid-friendliness: The owners and servers were very friendly and warm towards us. Felt cozy.
I had a great dinner at Jyugoya last night with some friends. What stood out the most to be was just how flavourful and complex every dish was. The tea and miso soup had bold flavours. The salad dressing was so citrusy and aromatic. The fish was so fresh and were very flavourful. The uni is a must try for anyone who likes it, it filled my whole mouth. I also highly recommend the tempura - the batter was just the right thickness and it was rich in flavour as well. Jyugoya really stood out to me compared to many other Japanese restaurants in the city. The quality is excellent, the fish is fresh, and there s just enough of a unique spin on everything that makes eating here interesting without veering too far off from the traditional. Pricing was very reasonable as well!
Excellent sushi, beautifully presented and high quality. Good portions too. Definitely recommend!
Best California rolls in a long time. Lovely staff, good prices
This is a great sushi restaurant, in all my years of enjoying Japanese cuisine I have to say that this is one of the best. Definitely worth coming here, fish is super fresh and beautifully prepared. Will be my go-to spot for sushi and sashimi.
Very beautiful food very good tasting very different if u are a fish lover place to be service is amazing just lime the food
Amazing quality. Fantastic service. Incredible atmosphere. It does not get better than this.
Really beautiful and delicious sushi. Great service.
A great place to visit for sushi.
As a sushi enthusiast from Vancouver, I have a keen sensitivity for freshness, and I must say that I loved my experience at this restaurant. The quality of the sushi was great, and I would definitely love to visit again. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the Miso soup, which turned out to be the best I have ever tasted.(temperature & taste)
Exquisite experience! This new Japanese restaurant delights with authentic flavours and impeccable service. I had the Tokusen Chirasi and I must say it was a true highlight! Bursting with vibrant colours and a delightful medley of flavours, the fresh assortment of sashimi, succulent seafood and perfectly seasoned rice was a culinary delight. This dish alone made the dinning experience at this Japanese restaurant truly unforgettable. The ambience is calming and the attention to detail was exceptional. A must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Japan. Highly recommend trying it!
Beautiful decor and presentation! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. We had sashimi, Fire Island Roll (a must-have! ), spider roll, and a karaage don. The sashimi was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth, and the karaage was well-seasoned and tender. Great addition to the neighborhood!
We ordered takeout of the chicken udon and sashimi platter for two. It was so good! The fish was very fresh and portions were generous. We will definitely come back!
I m glad we have a new restaurant came to the neighborhood! We came one time for lunch, and one time for dinner. Our kids love the food. The fish is very fresh. Great service! Especially very reasonable prices. Lots of vegetarian choices and good portions.
such good quality sushi !!!
Fresh, beautifully presented, lovely new sushi restaurant on Bayview. Definitely not your typical sushi place. Great experience!!
I had chirashi don, tempura and jyugoya roll. Sashimi on chirashi was very fresh. Jyugoya roll was very delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food quality was good but a little disappointing compared to the photo. Unagi was big and tasty, but the rice in it tasted a bit watery and the lemon on it made the flavor not so harmonious. Sashimi was good but not amazing. Salmon Teriyaki was not bad, but the vegetables in it tasted a bit weird with black pepper. The cabbage tasted a bit peppery and onion tasted like lost a lot of water.
The staff were very friendly and the food was exceptional. The sashimi was very fresh and the sushi had the right combination of fish to rice ratio. The meals were nicely plated. I will definitely return.
Great Sushi and customer service
Really good!
Came here for dinner with my girlfriend a couple of times. The fish they use has been fresh every time and you can definitely tell it apart from other typical sushi joints. Their presentation is also top notch and adds to the dining experience. Of the things we ordered, Id highly recommend getting their uni otoro handroll and seabream oshizushi. Both were rich in flavor, and as fresh as it comes.
The chef is very genuine in his goal to make the most beautiful sushi. I appreciated his integrity in his craft and his dishes were very delicious since it was slow when we got there, we were able to talk with him about the design and he shared a nice story of the dragon on our plate and the heart. Great vibes from him. The staff seemed new to serving but doing his best. I say this because I have been a server before and noticed that he would place dishes awkwardly on the table (given how beautiful they are, gracefully presenting it at the table actually matters. Im aware the plate is heavier than normal, so in this case, youd need to use both hands to bring it down flat and slowly, and then turning it) and he didnt remove the dinner plate so we had that on the table when receiving dessert. *A small note as well, was that the cup smelled a little chemically so make sure to check before serving (or drinking). Just little things but Im sure theyll get better over time as they read and respond to their reviews It was honestly a very pleasant experience and you should meet the chef, hes so sweet.
Staff are absolutely lovely and amazing. Great food bc great place. Been back twice so far and will be back again.
The reviews are correct, so fresh and tasty! So glad I decided to stop here for lunch! Best salmon teriyaki I ve ever had. Idk what else to say other than all the food being flavourful and DEEP in taste. Shrimp tempura hit the spot. Suzaku and Mount Fuji rolls were a killer. The sauce plated in the platter rly added to the flavour for the rolls (we love a spicy kick!) Only con was that miso soup was not hot enough. And wasps kept attacking us in the patio. It s next to an ice cream shop so it made sense. Service rly did make up for it. Offered to relocate us indoors, without us asking. So friendly and attentive. We also got free desert cuz the order was over $50. Honestly, I don t think u can go wrong w anything u order. Can t wait to return and try out more things! Compliments to the chef, f real.
The staff very friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing, one of the best Sushi in Toronto, my kids love it too, must try !!!
Had the sushi for two and we felt the quality was amazing - really fresh and good value too.
So happy this place opened up in our neighbourhood! Amazing food - can t wait to try everything on the menu!
Awesome! Really awesome sushi, fantastic and not all that sugary salmon teriyaki, and the presentation is really unique. Would highly recommend - best sushi in its price range in midtown.
It is hard to find good sushi and I believe I found it. Price is reasonable and their rice is soft, fresh and fluffy and not hard like most places I been. They emphasize on their presentation that is very appetizing, and beautifully decorated. The Sashimi s just melt in your mouth. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is somewhat tuck in between Wild Wings & Baskin & Robin and off directly from the Bayview Street itself so you have to know where to look for this hidden gem.
Had a signature Maki with sea bream. Fantastic. Will definitely come again!!
Amazing. 10/10
Celebrated a birthday lunch there last week and the food, amazing and beautifully presented! So fresh and tasty
Best hidden gem in Leaside! Amazing quality.
Best veggie roll ever!
The spicy salmon roll is great!
Excellent food, excellent service!
Not often I give a 5star but the quality of the food, fresh ingredients was superb and as I little one said all his taste buds was gonna explode.
We came to Jyugoya on Thanksgiving for dinner as a couple. The restaurant had about 3 other families and was not too busy. The service was stellar right from the start. When the waitress took our order, she answered all our questions and let us know that there is a promo on: buy one house special sushi roll and get one at half price. So we got two different types of house special rolls + one tempura udon (see pictures attached). The food was fresh, delicious, and came out promptly. They had music playing softly enough that you can still have a conversation, and the ambiance is maintained. Both the mens and womens washrooms were clean and well maintained. Our total bill was around $50.
Fish is top notched. A pleasant surprise.
The atmosphere is cafe The food is clean Decoration is the best
Please don t Judge the book by by his cover! Because this place is a GEM!!!! The food is so fresh, delicious!!! This is our second time going there and we are so happy to have a great sushi restaurant on our streets. Minutes from our house. I recommend the house chef rolls. Service is very friendly. Price is fairly reasonable. We will come back and tell our friends for sure !!!!
Very good. Very fresh. Very nice presentation
Fresh, delicious sushi/sashimi/miso soup/tempura - love this place. Have never felt compelled to leave a review but this is our new favourite sushi spot
Super fresh seafood. Great presentation and friendly staff. We ordered spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon Oshi, and fire island roll. Lunch combos only available on weekdays.
Best sushi in Toronto!Fresh and tasty!
We were in the City for some appointments and decided to seek out a Japanese restaurant for dinner. I came across the Jyugoya restaurant in my search and all reviews were 5 Stars. It was very close to where we were so we decided to have out dinner there. I can see why the reviews were 5 stars - as is ours. I cant recall the last time I tasted Sashimi that was so fresh - the salmon was out of this world as was the other Sashimi we tried. The Tempura batter was very light as it is supposed to be and the shrimp and veggy tempura we had were delicious. Back to the Sashimi we had on Thursday evening - it stacks up against any Sashimi I have had in Vancouver and Japan.
Absolutely delicious sushi and sashimi. The kind of meal where everyone is hardly talking at first because its so tasty. Service is speedy and polite. Atmosphere is tasteful.
Deliciously fresh fish! Highly recommended.
The freshest sushi I have had in a long time.
So happy to have a nice sushi restaurant near my home!! Wonderful service, fresh and perfect dinner I am really willing to visit again soon. Thank you
Amazing food excellent service
Everything was amazing , thank you guys, you deserve 5 stars , best sushi in town and great service
Amazing local sushi restaurant. Great fresh seafood/fish and excellent service
Very gorgeous holiday party tray. My family really enjoy the sushi.
After being craving for yusheng for 9 months, I finally got to eat the yusheng that I had been craving for after unloading it! As the first fish meal after unloading, I was very satisfied! The fish is very fresh, especially the sea urchin. I haven t eaten such sweet and fresh sea urchin in Toronto for a long time! Highly recommended
My wife was craving sushi and decided to hit this place up randomly whilst we were in the area. Unbeknownst to me, I left feeling satisfied with the quality of their customer service and food. I don t frequent this area, but I ll have to make a reason to come back. Best part is, it didn t break the bank.
