One of the best AYCE sushi places downtown! The sushi was super fresh, with lots of variety. Although we had to wait for a table, I also liked that the waiting area was comfortable and not awkward. We tried a lot of different rolls but I forgot to take pictures after the first order. Service was standard for a AYCE…seating time is two hours but last call is at the 1.5 hour mark.

Was not impressed by the "just out of the fridge" cold sushi and sashimi servings. The pen and paper approach was outdated as people can't really see what they are ordering. Servers have a hard time communicating and the ratio between server to customers are not adequate which led to delays.

3 people 190$ We went to the restaurant @ 9 10 and the staff were rushing us Even though the staff were polite and were feeling the urge to finish the last order by 10 10 the way they communicated with the costumers cold improve If you plan to visit this place you will enjoy it, good ingredients quality and reasonable price. Make sure to go early, before 8 pm

Been coming to Kaka for years and it’s still the best ayce in Toronto imo. Good selection without it being overwhelming, good quality, food comes fast, and not a bad price at $43 for dinner. They also have a premium experience which I’ve heard is very good but haven’t tried it. Has limited seating and needs to be reserved.

We came here on a Thursday around 4pm. We were very enticed by the torched sushi options on the menu and were craving an AYCE selection. The initial server who seated us was very friendly and acquainted us with the menu and offerings, but after that we had to wait quite some time for someone to pick up our order sheet for the remainder of the meal. The food was underwhelming to say the least. All of the food came to us lukewarm. The sushi/rolls/tataki was lukewarm when it should’ve been cold. And on the flip side, all of the hot items like the braised beef, tempura, and other ‘hot dishes’ came to us lukewarm. We would wait 20 minutes or more for some items and by the time they got to us it tasted like most of the dishes had been sitting on the pass for awhile. Some dishes had some really great flavour, and I can definitely see the potential of the recipes they have, but if your ingredients are low quality and you aren’t serving them at the right temperature they’re not going to taste good. Half way through the meal we just felt very underwhelmed and disappointed especially with a $40-something per person price tag looming over our heads. This place has potential, especially with its spacious and chic dining room and a prime location. But the food needs to improve significantly.

This is a very good all you can eat sushi restaurant. Prices are decent. The food is great. I like that the portions are very small so that you can order as much as you can without wasting food. They have great drink selections at a discount. Service is quick and efficient. Waiting staff is nice and accommodating. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The only thing is hard to find parking and street parking costs over $6 and hour.

Sushi and other food on their menu lists taste good. The soy marinated beef short rib was not tender. The sweet lemon grass pork loin taste reallg good but the sweet and sour sauce ruin it, they could have put the sauce on the side at dipping sauce. but over all food really good and price is decent. We ordered cocktails and it took us 3 server to ask for follow up. Our food already been served and our drinks took awhile to be served.

I came here one weekend with my family (4 people total) and we enjoyed our lunch. We had the AYCE (all you can eat) at around $40/person. I'd say we definitely ate our money's worth in sushi. We reserved a table ahead of time, so we did not wait long to get inside and get seated. Shortly after our arrival, it got busy and tables filled quickly. I would recommend booking ahead of time if possible.

Decent all you can eat, the sashimi, appetizer dishes, and desserts were nice, but the rolls, sushi, maki were ruined by the rice, which was not good. Not terrible, but not my favorite place.

Ordered salmon bento box, and it was terrible. It took forever to reach my table that it came at a room temperature. Salmon was dry and nothing to be desired. Food court bento box tastes better. The rice was mushy. The California rolls were cold and hard, so I know that it was not freshly made. Restaurant itself is not clean. No standard. See photos, especially the water bottle and the wall. We will not be returning.

It s good. Have a AYCE with friends, we are 9 people. As myself I enjoyed a lot their sashimi, I just hope my friends they were not disappointed various of sashimi option. Also the tataki is yummy as well. I also recommend their teriyaki, and jerk chicken. Btw if next time have chance go, I will eat more dessert for sure.

I wanted to love this place however the restaurant just missed the massive idea of being an eat all you can. Imagine arriving at your table ordering and your food order doesn t show up, you think it s just a fluke so you order again, and still the order is missing.. 4 papers filled with orders and an hour and 15mins later, they realized they ve been giving the food to the wrong table. I wish it was just us, the other table beside us, left without even getting their food. On top of this, they rushed us to eat out with the time limit. One of the servers came up to us and did a priority order for whatever else we want to order but at this point I feel like they re just trying to get us out rather than actually giving priority for wasting our time. I m hoping this is a rare occasion as I really do want to come back and try something that we weren t able to get. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options Parking: There s a paid underground parking with lots of space. There s also paid street parking but it s limited.

Oh, KAKA All You Can Eat what an unforgettable experience. If you ve ever dreamed of living the high life by indulging in a seemingly endless parade of sushi, fried foods, and all things questionably delicious, then KAKA is your gastronomic paradise. The ultimate all-you-can-eat adventure that leaves you feeling both overfed and underwhelmed at the same time. Its truly a spiritual journey where you come for the quantity, stay for the price tag, and leave wondering if maybe just maybe you should ve gone to the cheaper sushi place down the street. Let s talk about the ambiance, shall we? The moment you walk in, you re greeted by an atmosphere that says, We are an all-you-can-eat establishment, and we want you to feel it. The décor? Well, it s somewhere between we tried too hard to be fancy and we really need a deep cleaning. The lighting is just bright enough to make you question your life choices, but not quite enough to hide the fact that youre eating in a bustling, high-energy room where the smell of fried food wafts through the air like a cloud of desperation. Its charming, in that let s-get-this-over-with kind of way. Now, the service oh my god, the service! If you ve ever wanted to feel like you re in a race against time while also trying to find someone to take your order, then you ll love it here. The staff, bless them, seem to be in a perpetual state of organized chaos, rushing around as if there s an unspoken challenge to see how many tables they can serve without acknowledging that you ve been waiting for 15 minutes for a glass of water. But hey, it s an all-you-can-eat place, not a Michelin-star experience, right? But lets get to the real star of the show: the food. Oh, the food. It s endless in quantity, but slightly lacking in quality. You ll find a wide array of sushi rolls, but don t expect them to be the life-changing creations you see on those Instagram food blogs. No, no. Here, the sushi is more like good enough to fill you up without making you think too much about it. The tuna? Well, it s fresh-ish, but it doesn t exactly scream premium. But who cares about freshness when you can order six rolls in one sitting and pretend you re living your best life, right? And let s talk about the fried foods because at KAKA, frying is a lifestyle. Tempura shrimp? Absolutely delightful, if you love the concept of greasy, soggy batter wrapped around what could almost be described as shrimp. The fried calamari, however, deserves its own standing ovation. It was so heavily battered, I almost mistook it for a fried pillow with a hint of seafood flavor. Perfect for when you re feeling adventurous, but also have no idea what you re eating. But here s the real kicker: the price. Ah yes, the price. At KAKA, you re paying for quantity, not quality yet somehow, they still manage to charge you enough to make you question if you ve just been scammed into buying a buffet that could have been better executed at a slightly cheaper, less ambitious joint. It s like paying top dollar for a luxury version of something you can get anywhere else, but somehow this is all wrapped up in the allure of unlimited food. The only thing that s unlimited is the regret as your bill arrives and you realize you could ve gone to a decent restaurant and ordered a real meal for the same price. In conclusion, if you want to feel like royalty for an hour, stuff yourself with as much mediocre sushi as your stomach can handle, and leave with a lighter wallet and a slightly heavier sense of buyer s remorse, then KAKA All You Can Eat is your perfect destination. Will I go back? Oh, absolutely. Not because the food was amazing, but because all-you-can-eat is an irresistible concept when you re feeling reckless and uninformed.

Here s how your response could look in English: Subject: Feedback on My Recent Visit to Kaka Restaurant Dear Kaka Team, I rarely write negative reviews, as I understand how challenging it is to meet everyone s expectations. However, my recent visit to your restaurant left me with an overwhelmingly disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. The concept of your establishment is undoubtedly appealing $44 per person for a buffet-style menu with unlimited ordering for 1.5 hours, followed by an extra 30 minutes to finish the meal. However, the execution fell short in multiple areas. First, your Instagram advertisements portray beautifully crafted dishes, creating high expectations. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. The dishes we ordered looked entirely different from your promotional material the difference was akin to comparing a luxury car to a budget model. While both serve the same purpose, the disparity in quality and presentation was staggering. There are no photos in the menu, making it impossible to know what you are ordering or how it will be presented. When the dishes arrived, they were underwhelming, with sushi rolls containing 80-90% rice. This imbalance made the rolls both visually unappealing and unsatisfying. Of the 15 items we ordered, none were particularly enjoyable. Even the sashimi featuring salmon, butterfish, and calamari was disappointing. The calamari, in particular, was inedible, resembling a rubbery, flavorless piece of plastic. The service was equally lackluster. The staff were cold and unengaged, failing to create any sense of hospitality or a welcoming atmosphere. Plates were inconsistently cleared, and to order additional dishes, we had to write down item numbers on paper slips and wave down waiters, who often ignored us. This lack of attentiveness made the experience feel frustrating and impersonal. To add to the discomfort, the restroom was unclean, further detracting from the overall experience. It s apparent that while your restaurant might have started strong, complacency has set in, with quality and service standards noticeably declining. What could have been a pleasant evening turned into an experience we simply wanted to end as quickly as possible. The only silver lining was that my wife and I could laugh at how bad it was, as it was almost comically disappointing. I hope you take this feedback constructively, as I genuinely believe your concept has potential. However, significant improvements in food quality, presentation, service, and cleanliness are needed to align the actual experience with the expectations set by your advertising.

AYCE very slow service for a Monday at lunch. The portions are so small. Sashimi appears to be cut in half or in thirds. Rolls are very small. Honestly we could have eaten more, but we were there for an hour and couldn t spend any more time. Overall super disappointing, but has the potential.

The rice was old. The beef short rib was sour all the deep-fried food that we got was room temperature. They had some good ideas on the menu. Plating looked nice obviously but once I started eating it was just not good. The sashimi was meh, just get the butterfish. It would ve tasted better after the quality of fish was a better standard. I ve been to the one in Markham and remembered it to be good, but this was terrible. I do want to mention that we did all you can eat, but if I got this type of quality for à la carte, I d be pretty pissed.

Poor service on a Saturday evening. Table of 2 and we were not able to order more than 2 rounds before our time was up because it took a significant time to get our food and also they missed a number of our orders. Serving sizes were significantly smaller than our orders - eg. we ordered 20 pieces of sashimi but got only half and the pieces were cut irregularly. It was hard to get cold water - asked 7-8x and only got it at the end of the meal. Not sure what happened to this place. The only things that were ok were the mango Lassi, beef tataki, and beef short ribs. Would not recommend it at all.

Very disappointed with my experience here. Rushed to order, rushed to order dessert before finishing dinner, rushed to pay and told to leave the table and then told there is an hour limit on the table. Great sushi, and their desserts are also fantastic. However, youre paying for a premium price. Update September 2024: every time I come back (each year or so) the quality has gone down. Most recently, it was OK at best. The worst part was the rice, at a sushi restaurant. The most egregious offender were the makis. Even from the picture, you can see how mushy it is. It didn t help that the pressed sushis were 9:1 ratio between rice and toppings. That said, Chef Frank s roll was one of the better menu items. The dessert menu was still really good too. Overall, the food was OK. But when you re paying up to $60-70 per person after tax and tip, this isn t an acceptable quality. If your goal is to fill yourself, I suppose you can get your money s worth from quantity. But I would rather spend a similar amount of money eating quality food, even with a smaller quantity. I will not be coming back again.

takes forever to order, the waiters disappear when you need them the most. salmon taste so bad and unfresh, the rice that comes with the sushi is so bad and sticky, absolutely unenjoyable. Beef tataki tastes like rubber. Yeah don t come here Food : 1/5

October 21, 2024

There was basically no service. The only time I had contact with the waiters was to sell wine to minors. The price was a bit expensive and the food was slow to serve. Quality is quite good for an AUCE. Portions were a bit smaller, but thats not really unusual for AUCE. Some of the ingredients were inconsistent ie. salmon in the tataki wasn t great, but salmon in the rolls was fatty and flavorful. Tempura was excellent with just a light batter, and the aburi nigiri and poke rolls were quite good. The mango lychee coconut drink was also quite unexpectedly excellent and fruity. All in all, was pleasantly surprised and will definitely recommend!

September 21, 2024

Ill start by saying the food wasnt awful or anything like that, just average. However, the system that they have in place here is so awful. They have a 2 hour time limit, which would be fine except for the fact that they purposefully take forever to take your order. They dont use tablets, just a piece of paper which means you cannot order quickly, you have to wait for the server which they conveniently disappear. The QR code for the menu is terrible to view, cant see anything. There are countless other good all you can eat options that are way better. Id skip this place altogether. Also, they lost our paper so it took even longer for us to order. Ridiculous they charge so much and they dont even use tablets.

I stopped by Toronto for a summer vacation and decided to try Kaka Restaurant because of the good reviews, but I was really disappointed and shocked. They advertised it as all-you-can-eat, but there was no tuna in sushi section at all. The sushi pieces were so thin and small that they looked really pitiful. The tempura was soggy, and the udon was in a thick broth that tasted really bad. I felt deceived by the reviews. I truly hope no one else goes there.

This is our favourite all you can eat sushi place in the city. It is a great spot to go if you are hungry and really craving sushi. The place is always super busy and bit chaotic but that is to be expected. If you go during rush hours expect to wait 30-45 min. The service is great and fast. We love the Tataki and the torched rolls. The Crème Brûlée is our favourite dessert option.

Do not come to this place. We got diarrhea. 1. Sashimi fridge at the sushi counter was kept open the whole time - raw fish was room temperature real quick once served. Overall extreme fishy taste. They took the uneaten pieces and then came back to tell us the chef said it is all fresh fish. It is not - the whole 2 hours we were there, the pre-cut fish was untouched at the front of the fridge. 2. Only saving grace was salmon (yet no fresh taste), and the cooked short ribs 3. Lists ebi under sashimi - served cooked shrimp and asked for 4 pieces gave us 10 - again trying to fill us up? 4. They pack their sushi with so much rice its like a rock - definitely trying to fill you up at a ayce. And actually said they will charge us if we waste food again. There is barely any fish on the nigiri, thinner than my fingernail. 5. Even the tempura shrimp tasted fishy. 6. They had water already poured in the glasses before we were seated. 7. All 3 temperature settings were set at 23 degrees during the summer. No AC - imagine guests comfort level and how bacteria is infesting in the open fridge. 8. Udon was bitter 9. Washrooms smelled moldy and very dirty Shouldve got up and left the second I saw the state of the fridge. Dont make the same mistake as me.

Few couple of notes if you are trying to visit this location. 1. Be ready to scan a QR code and zoom into every item to see description and codes that then you will have to write in a paper; for the above average price a tablet system would have been expected 2. Dont be afraid of over order as all their pieces comes in a tiny mini portions. We were a party of 7 and had to reorder 4x the same items, again no tablet system so had to do it manually all over again 3. If you are visiting with kids (mine was 8 y/o that after an udon and a couple of dumplings stopped eating as she was feeling itchy in her throat), do not forget to bring your passport or birth certificate as they will ask you for proof; otherwise, your child will be charged adult price. Overall not a pleasant experience food wise and service wise; as per flavor, I might have got here and there some really good tasting aburi nigiris and makis but again since pieces were so tiny, the flavor got lost in between my palate.

Unfortunate to say, but we left this place feeling violated. They were demanding proof of ID for our eight-year-old child to honour children pricing. Requested birth certificate, passport, or some sort of document. Who carries these things around?? We then had to show image on our phone of our child s last birthday party with a Cake showing her birthday age and the date of the photo for them to honour the children all you can eat price. No words can describe how we feel.

Ive been to a few AYCE sushi places to in toronto. I been to the kaka in markham and was expecting the same quality when coming here. Unfortunately the sashimi that day was a room temp and also a bit fishy. The rice was very fragile, when grabbing a nigri it would break apart. The Ebi was under sashimi but was also cooked shrimp that they put on top of a nigri but sliced in half.... first time having that.. Overall I had to say this was bad. Maybe it was a one off. But wow. I wont say avoid this place if u want AYCE.

While the ambiance is upscale, the food quality is average, and the prices are steep. For an all-you-can-eat buffet, they limit orders to four per person per round, with the first round arriving quickly, but subsequent ones are much slower. Additionally, the two-hour dining limit is strictly enforced, which can feel rushed.

There are a lot of seared sushi, pressed sushi, and some tacos with raw fish. The sushi rice has a little too much vinegar, which I don t like very much. The sashimi is cut relatively thin, and the freshness seems to be average (no problems with eating it). The taste of the cooked food is worse than that of the average AYCE sushi restaurant opened by a fellow Fujianese. (This restaurant feels like it is run by Southeast Asians, and none of the clerks speak Chinese.) The store is quite large, with a lot of seats.

I really like the food. But a few things I was not too pleased about. Many sushi places allow you to order from an I pad. You have to scan the QR code and there is no cart on the website, you have to write the code on a paper. I came in for lunch and only had 1hr. Therefore I didnt get all I could eat. The prices are too steep per person. If all you are going to do is put pictures online, youre better off having physical menus. Even with the pictures I cant read the codes. Service wise they really need to check in on the customer a bit more. Food wise its actually very good. Despite the small portions per order its good. I would eat here again but hoping they will scale up the portions or down the price.

Came here at around 5-6pm for table for two reserved for AYCE to celebrate my partners birthday. Ended up around 100 cad for both of us including taxes and tips. The service was great, food arrived very quickly, they clear your table regularly of any empty dishes and were even proactive at refilling our water canister which was empty. You order through paper sheets manually. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. We tried a bit of everything. The sushi rice here is mushy which ruined all the nigiris and rolls. If youre ok with the rice at sushi legend and food court sushi takeout places then this wont be a problem for you, as its similar to those places. A few of the surf clam sashimi had sand in it. We ended up just eating sashimi, since the rice was not edible to us, the sashimi was ok but basically similar fare to other similar AYCE places: not particularly good quality but edible. A lot of the cooked meats and salads were ok, some were too salty for our palates, but not anything special. The best part about this restaurants food offerings are their desserts. They offer a wide variety, and a lot of them were pretty tasty. All in all, we were a bit disappointed with the food quality. We ended up leaving after just 1 hour into our AYCE, youre better off buying sushi takeout at Kibo sushi or something.

Would come back for the food only for takeout but definitely no accessibility buttons for the washrooms or any doors so I wouldn t recommend it for any wheelchair users or parents with a stroller. Visited on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 - around 5pm for AYCE dinner. I have seen this place advertised many times and was very excited to try it. Unfortunately my excitement was for naught as Im giving this place one of my lowest reviews. The service was good, everything was clean, food came quick, but for a very hot spring day I was boiling and they didnt turn on the AC until we were almost done with the meal - I was very uncomfortably sweating. I would not recommend this as an AYCE Sushi place. Nothing I ordered Id recommend and while the rolls, torched or hand pressed sushi was decent I found them to be very small and the rice consistently fell apart when attempting to lift and dip into soy sauce. The only saving grace this place has is the Desserts! That being said I wouldnt spend $54 after tip on a Tuesday for these desserts. The sashimi wasnt great, the tempura batter - I dont know what that was... but that was the worst tempura batter I ever had. It was hard, gummy, tasted like cardboard / nothing - just awful. The short ribs looked like they were hardly cooked, no char on them. The edamame was severely overcooked and soft. At least the miso soup and green salad was good. The seaweed salad was literally served in a sauce dish. I understand you can just order more but it was literally one chopstick serving. For desserts, I got the Earl Gray Creme Brulee, Layered Panna Cotta and Regular Creme Brulee - all of which were excellent. Ive tried several AYCE Sushi restaurants in the city and this is not one Id recommend or would return to.

First and last time. Servers were nice but seemed rush which made service a little lousy. The menu was viewed on our a phone via QR code, and ordering was made on a piece of paper. My wife is pregnant so I had some questions regarding certain ingredients in which the server responded Im just the server, Im not the chef. The server couldve easily just asked a chef if the item was fully cooked but decided not to. We only received half of our order and had to ask our server about it. She then had to look for and reorder the items that were missing. Even then, we had to ask another two times about missing items. We asked multiple servers several times for condiments and water before it actually came. We also received some main dishes before starters like miso soup and seaweed which was odd. The quality of the sushi was like buying from a grocery store and didnt look like advertised. The rice in the maki rolls were really compact and most items were bland. The sashimi portions were so small it made us laugh. Dessert sounded good but nothing special. The taste of everything was average at best and the waiting time for the food ordered wasnt worth it. It was honestly KAKA.

June 21, 2024

That sucks. You can order a good sushi restaurant for 40 dollars, there is no need to go to Kaka. The food in the restaurant made me feel like I was wronged. We heard a lot of buzz on social media about this restaurants all-you-can-eat (AYCE) offering, so we decided to give it a try. The comments online were mixed, so we wanted to see for ourselves. I went with a group of seven, and we only had to wait about five minutes to be seated, which was a good start. Service: I have a gluten sensitivity, and I mentioned this to our server. She was really thoughtful and helped me find dishes that were safe for me to eat. However, we noticed that they only brought out half of what we ordered every time. For example, if we ordered 20 pieces of salmon nigiri, we d only get 10. This wasnt just a one-time mistake; it happened with every order. The servers were friendly, but they weren t very efficient. Food: The food was disappointing. The rice tasted like it was a few days old, worse than what youd find in grocery store sushi. The fish on the nigiri was paper-thin. After waiting for your food, getting served hard rice with a tiny piece of fish and only half of your order is pretty frustrating. The sashimi was a bit better. They cut a single order of sashimi in half and served it as two orders. The best roll we had was the salmon and avocado roll. The rice was still not great, but the creaminess of the avocado with the salmon made a good combination. Conclusion: We were visiting Toronto for the weekend and unfortunately chose this place for dinner with our group of seven. I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to locals or visitors. Dietary restrictions: For gluten sensitivity they have GF soy sauce, and you ll want to stick primarily to the nigiri, sashimi, and salmon avocado roll. The spicy tuna roll has penko bread crumbs inside of the roll and most of the sauces also have wheat in them. For celiac, I would not advise eating here.

Me and a friend of mine decided to go for an all you can eat since it s close to where we live. I am very easily impressed, I am also a very naive person so it s easy to buy me with good food and a kind smile, I rarely review on google even but I was just so flabbergasted by the bad food that I just cannot not react to this. Everything was great. The food came fast, clean, the waitress was cute and polite as well, the food server (just one of them) on the other hand was NOT having a good day so he just dropped (literally) the plates on our table and left. I m one to slide this kind of thing BUT AS SOON AS I TASTED THE ATROCIOUS DESERTS? That s when I just bloody lost it. The sushi was OK. Some are really good but most are incredibly meh. The deserts though? Jesus Christ have mercy. Not worth anything close to 100 dollars even though I ate plenty of sushi. Don t know why it is regarded as the top AYCE sushi restaurant in Toronto. It would be okay if the price matches the food. A friend and I each did all you can eat at around 4:30pm on a weekday. I really enjoyed the portion sizes of the sushi. I felt as though the ratio of rice was really nice. However, I do feel as though the sushi itself lacked flavor (aside from the cheeseburger roll which was listed as a limited item - that surprisingly tasted exactly as it sounds). The shareables/starters were all rather tasty. And myself and my friend both enjoyed the beef tataki specifically. We ordered it twice and did notice some consistency issues in regards to portions. The desserts were plentiful, but also lacking an overall flavor. The service was prompt and friendly. We did have to remind them of a couple items from the first round that we had ordered and didnt receive - but it wasnt a problem as we hadnt gone without, and those items did come quickly afterwards. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but not my favorite sushi/AYCE restaurant.

This was my first visit to Kaka, and after this experience, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. If youre looking for a reasonably priced AYCE place downtown, KAKA is a great choice. I recommend making a reservation if youre going for dinner. We were there at 7pm on a Friday, and the restaurant filled up very quickly. They have a good selection of meats and seafood, including some limited time menu options. From the limited menu, we tried the Trio Spirits Braised Beef, Chocolate Truffle and Mango Tiramisu, all which were very good. From the regular menu, we tried the Miso Soup, Karaage, several types of Nigiri, Aburi Nigiri, Tataki and Sashimi, as well as the Tacos (Beef, Shrimp and Jerk Chicken) and Shrimp Tempura. We also tried the teppanyaki Jerk Chicken and Japanese Soy Marinated Beef Short Ribs. Everything was very fresh. I was especially impressed by their dessert selection, as they have so many items to choose from. We ordered almost all of the items. Our favourites were definitely the Earl Grey Tiramisu, the Layered Panna Cotta and the Chocolate Truffle, which reminded me of Royces Nama chocolates

I enjoyed the aburi, sashimi, kalbi and carpaccios. The taco had a deep fried shell and a hot sauce that was a little bit beyond my expectations for heat. Otherwise, I tend to enjoy the AYCE experience partly because the menu usually is creative and the desserts are great. I loved the matcha creme brulee and the green tea ice cream is always the end of the meal. Next time I need to get pickled ginger with my meal. It helps to clean my tastebuds and to digest some of the food. My favourites include: unagi sushi, octopus, butterfish, and salmon sashimi. A new menu item is Kim chi fried rice, which is an interesting addition to this mainly Japanese focused menu. I will return in a few weeks. Dine in is enjoyable with a small party and the menu is obtainable from a QR code.

We go to Kaka on Woodbine once a month. This was our first visit to this Kaka downtown. It was disappointing. First, the Woodbine location has iPads for ordering, while downtown has cards to write the item number. Downtown had a QR code, but the numbers were hard to read on the website so we got a paper menu. It was an old book with tape holding I it together and many steps of tape with new or replaced items. As far as the food goes, it was very good with some very tasty special rolls. The tempura was a laugh. The menu picture of shrimp tempura was what we have all seen - big shrimp with tail. Here the shrimp were tail off and smaller than 1 with about 6 in a bowl. The tempura sweet potato was barely covered in coating. There was no tuna nigiri and I think the nigiri was smaller than Woodbine. On the plus side, the servers were excellent, the special roles were really good, and the desserts were delish and much better than Woodbine with sake tiramisu and creme caramel.

I recently visited this sushi restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant not being busy (only few tables occupied), my friend and I had to wait almost 10 minutes at the door with several staff members looking at us but no one greeting us. I had to say Excuse me! Hello! three times before anyone acknowledged us, and eventually, a staff member came to serve us. While the food tasted OK, the service was incredibly rude - except for Chloe, who was nice and polite. As an Asian customer, I felt that some of the waiters were extremely impatient and displayed a cold, unfriendly attitude, which felt borderline racist. We noticed that their attitude was much more welcoming and friendly when they served the table next to us (foreigners). The overall negative experience overshadowed the good food. Shame on the staffs for their poor behaviour. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable. I do not recommend this restaurant and will never come back again!

I was eager to try out KAKA for about a month. The main issue was ordering on paper. This made it very difficult to keep track of what was ordered and track consumption. The service was very slow for an afternoon. They also do not replace items for allergies . The sushi was nothing special either, fried rice was burnt and the desserts were mediocre. Very disappointed.
